Surprise extras. App works well now. Not sure why my NOAA charts disappeared for a while, but now they’re back. All’s good.

Boat Watch is the best!. I’ve tried a few different app but I like the features and reliability of Boat Watch most.

A shoutout to Tech Support. I’ve been using Boat Watch for years for my job and I especially the the NOAA chart overlay option. When I got a new phone I had some issues getting the chart overlay option lay working. I reached out to tech support and they solved the issue very quickly. Thank you. I highly recommend this app.

Layers of paid add-on features. The app is very cool. They clearly list the optional purchasable add-on features beyond the first paid level. Boatnerd on the web offers many of the same options. Thankyou!

Poor tracking. The app keeps telling me that ship is out of range. Meanwhile it’s docked in a covered location. The app seems to be a day behind so that cruise ships are always located at the port it was yesterday. I’m sorry that I upgraded the app for 5.00. What a terrible was of money.

What boats?. It worked for a few hours and then even the barges that were right in front of my house didn’t show up in the screen

Useless. I downloaded this to watch my sons cruise ship. I paid the extra $5 and all that did was allow me to save his boat. I was able to use the app for one day before the boat went out of range and could not be tracked anymore! Very stupid app

Frustrating. Tried the upgrade because the free addition showed only a few ships in harbors and none moving. Even though I could see them. The upgrade shows no ships. Again I can see them. Waste of money

Can’t find ships location.. I can’t never find the cruise ship position. Hasn’t updated in 3 days. Had to use different app. Payed the one time charge to get the best out of the app for nothing. Have had better results on other apps and free of charge.

Very very good. Use to make my way around Puget Sound, WA and identify ships in ports around the world.

Disappointed. The app works for the most part, but I am very disappointed to see they refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, which it most definitely is not.

Shows boats that aren’t in the harbor. Do not waste time on this app. The free version is useless, so I upgraded for $4.99. The app shows the names of boats that are not currently docked in my town of Sag Harbor, NY. Deleting app now

Complete Junk. Worthless. Upgrade did nothing. Keeps thinking I’m on the West Coast of Africa even though I’m in the Caribbean. Save your money.

Better than the others. Was trying to find boats before they get where they’re going. This app is pretty easy to use.

KeeperMM. Change Color of ship names. Yellow is very hard to read.

Terrible App. There currently is a boat in at the ore dock in Marquette and I can see the ship at the dock with my own two eyes but it’s isn’t visible on the radar? I would enjoy my money back to switch over to an app that has better functionality.

Perfect for Boat Watchers. Love this app! I live on the Chesapeake Bay and I use this app to let me know who’s anchored out there, where they’re from, where they’ve been. Well worth the “investment!”

App has stopped showing large ships. My large ships have quit showing up and I can see them on the river.

No tracking. No tracking unless you pay. This service is free on other apps.

Not what I expected. Although being able to see where ships are, it’s sad that you pay for the “one time upgrade” and then find that everything else within the app costs an additional charge. So they mislead you to believe that once you’ve upgraded, you won’t be charged again……. False. False false. Don’t waste your money on this.

Utterly useless. I go to the free apps to track the vessel that I’m tracking because after paying for this app, it has been utterly useless utterly 100% useless

Boat Watch. Awesome app! Let’s you know exactly where canal traffic is so I don’t have to sit and wait on the draw bridge! Perfect!

Disappointed. I paid for the upgrade before my cruise in order to track other ships. The upgrade was no better than the basic service which was dismal at best. Very disappointed in the accuracy of this app. Spending the money for the upgrade was a waste of money. The updates were so far behind and inaccurate that is was useless. Very frustrating to deal with. Don’t waste your time or money downloading.

Sad. I paid $4.99 for the pro version and the Watch app is still telling me I need to buy the pro version. Please help.

Emerald Princess. I bought this app just to track the Emerald Princess and I could never track it. I could track plenty of other ships but not the one I bought the app for. What a rip off.

Sitting on my deck, and Lake Huron.. Love being able to identify the ships only improvement could be listing when the ship was built and types of cargo it normally hauls. The app works great never had an issue.

Picture Upload. Please change to “Do you have a better photo” for proper grammar.

Missing Vessels. This boat App used to be accurate. I don’t understand what happened because it’s never accurate and hasn’t been for over a year, now.

Boat traffic. Love watching the boat traffic from my condo! But love it even more now that I know all about individual vessels!!

Not unlimited fleets :(. The style of the app was very nice at first, but once upgraded it did not provide unlimited fleets as suggested. Bad advertising and very disappointed customer.

My Life 360 works better than this app😆. I’m not sure how this app works but it shows my daughter’s ship out of range for over 48 hrs even when they’re in port. Life 360 picked her up until she was out in the middle of the ocean. I think this ship tracker needs to talk to someone at Life 360 and ask them what app they’re using 😂. And yes I paid the upgrade fee.

Missing ships. It’s frustrating when I’m looking at the ships from shore and they’re not showing up on the screen. Happens all the time. Not much help when I can see four ships and the app can only see two of them.

Rip off. I was using the free version and it was working fine decided to upgrade to the paid version and now it isn’t picking up any vessels. What a rip off

Disappointed. I used to see boats. I upgraded and they all went away. Frustrating as I can see them on the water but they don’t show on the app anymore

iPad problems. I have had Boat watch for several years, and overall I like it. But recently it won’t load on my IPad it still works with my iPhone.

I wouldn’t trust this in fog or just ship-watching. Not dependable. I know there are at least 6 ships within 20 miles. There’s no ships in the entire Great Lakes according to this yet I’m able to download apps. What gives? Where are the ships? I see a thousand footer but guess you don’t? What really is this app for?

Not so good anymore. Bought this app two years ago and it was great but this past year I have seen more ships out in Lake Michigan passing through that never show up on the app which was the reason for purchasing the app. Feel like a waste of money now. 😞

Ripoff new charge. Bought this app a while ago and it was fine. They took away info about the boat you were watching and charged an additional $5 to see it again. Nothing new. Just more money to get what I originally paid for

Useful App.. I have found this app. very useful and interesting for tracking and identifying boats and ships in the major harbours. Although most of the reviews I've read have been negative and I wasn't expecting much, when you consider how the data is received, I was pleasantly surprised and think they have done a good job.

Rubbish. The worst app. A waste of time. 3 cruise liners....... nothing shows.

Must buy. Sit for hours at Mooloolaba watching ships come in and out of the Brisbane passage - get a pair of binoculars.

Rubbish - don't waste your time. NOT a Live tracker at all. Shows very old data most of the time, and only really seems to update when a ship gets close to/from port.

Why are ships disappearing. Used to be a good if not best ship identification app and easily identify ships - as I live with views of main shipping channel it was always good to quickly identify ships - very occasionally one would not appear on the app. Now that is the norm with most not appearing - why is that? Especially passenger vessels. If I know the ship and search for it usually it will show up but then will disappear as cannot confirm current location. Why is this happening?

Boat Watch. Locates all ships in range on map colour coded for type of ship. Able to locate a specific ship by name and shows location, ship details and position on map. Very useful for anyone interested in ship locations and movements

Don't waste your money with this app. I paid 6.50$ and it didn't unlock all the features! The available features are soo poor and it leak accuracy!

Jamming. The program jams all the time

Find Ship is free and better. This app doesn't let you even get any details of the ships that can be found free using any search engine. Even to get a satellite map, they want money. Why pay for something that you can get for free elsewhere like Find Ship or other apps.

Total waste of money!!!. Don't buy this app! It's absolute rubbish! The main reason I bought it was to find out where my family is on the cruise, but gps location never works!!! It is a pathetic app and a waste of your money, don't be conned like me;(

Disappointing. I downloaded this app so I could track a particular ship. It has not given me an accurate location for over a week.

Utter, utter RUBBISH. If you are considering this app DON'T!! Its a pile of poo! Nearby ships don't work the gps is the same one Magellan used. Its just useless do us all a favor and pull this from the app store

Great App with Excellent Support. I have found Boat watch to be an informative and useful app with comprehensive tracking coverage of vessels of interest. The support team is quick to respond and provide solutions to any queries. Boat Watch should be the ‘go to’ app for those who have an interest in monitoring vessel movements.

Needs heaps of work. It not very good all they do is ask you to pay money and barely have any information on the boats☹️ but the maps good

Disappointing. Really,I paid the extra money for the paid version,so apparently there’s no boats or ships travelling in the South Pacific! I live on an island in the South Pacific and I can tell you that’s wrong. When I open up the free version of Marine Watch there’s many many ships and boats. I should have paid for the Marine Watch app.

Poor Area Coverage. I am in the Trobriand Islands PNG and can see ships from my cruise ship. Nothing, not even my cruise ship, is on the map.

Works well except......... It updates often but when viewing boats in a harbour you can see it is very inaccurate. Boats are often shown 30 metres up the bank in buildings. Marine Traffic in its free version is much more accurate although sometimes has a large lag time. You are using the same AIS data and it would appear the same satellite map so proper positioning of the boats would be good and make it worth 5 stars. Boats position sometimes jumps back a long way. I used to like this app but now it is so inaccurate it is of no use.

Overpriced and clumsy interface. Others better and cheaper. I'll be deleting this App.

How to opt out of this. I bought this a few days ago to follow family aboard the Norwegian epic. Constantly tells me it is out of range. Whilst sitting in harbour in Barcelona please tell me how to abort this app thanks

Boat watch : Hopeless. I am sitting on my deck watching the cruise ship Volendam sailing out of Port Phillip Bay near Sorrento in Victoria. It does not appear on Boat watch. But it does show on Cruisemapper. Same problem with Disney Wonder. your App is totally useless and I paid to upgrade so I am very unhappy. What is wrong with you and your App

Useless. Only tracks ships when they're close to shore. What's the point?

Useless. I’m trying to track a cruise ship that family is on. It’s telling me they are out of radio range for the last 3 days when in fact they were between Singapore and Malaysia! Location has not moved on the map for 3 days. Internet shows ship almost in a port. If it can’t track a cruise ship that is near a port every day, then it’s pretty hopeless.

Very Poor. Trying to track ship travelling between Sydney & Lifou, no response whatsoever, a very poor investment!

This app is a scam.. The title says it. First you buy and then you have to pay again to use it. Dont buy this.

Boat Watch. I am about to delete Boat Watch from all of our units. We are unable to look at the data presented without your page advertising the $6.99 add on popping up every 20 seconds.

Almost there. This app is awesome but it’s just missing one thing: route history. This is almost like the Flightradar24 of ships but it just needs that line that shows the route it’s been taking. This will show that it’s actually moving and what not because the only way you can actually tell a ship is moving right now is through it’s speed or watching it on the map. I personally just think it’d be a great add on.

Poor. Currently cruising on celebrity infinity just west and north of Havana Cuba. I can visually see two other cruise ships (carnival ship and MSc ). Yet none of the 3 ships show up on boat watch. These boats must be transmitting their positions. I think you should refund all users who pay for premium services as it’s easier to watch the boats visually than on the map. If the point is to watch the boats you fail miserably. On the good side the NOAA overlay maps are excellent.

Tracking ships problems. This app has serious search problems If you search for a cruise ship company it finds like 3 ships and it should fine like 20 Some cruise ships that are shown in other apps in the map, in this app the just don’t exist!

Only want to track one vessel. The free app has too much detail for my purpose. I only want to locate one vessel, currently making its way from Texas to Florida. I would be satisfied if all vessels except pleasure craft could be selected.I also want the vessel’s latitude and longitude as well as the track of its movement. I am considering the upgrade but not enough information is provided about the features offered.

Great app, worth the money to upgrade!. After having issues with app crashing, I emailed the developer with the issue (on a Saturday morning), and had a personal reply within 45 minutes. The $6.99 CAD is worth every penny to be able to favourite different ships.

Information Out of Date. I checked on a cruise ship that runs a route every few weeks out of Miami, to see how accurate the app is. I know the exact location of this ship. The app doesn't. It shows a location that's way out of date. As a result, I can't rely on any information from this app. Uninstalled.

Great App. App opens on my location to show ships near me in canal. It now shows local landmarks. Very accurate

Rip-off. About a year ago I paid for the full version of this app. Recently updated and now it doesn't recognize me and asks me to upgrade. Wasted my money.

Useless. Wow major problem with their system. Every ship, shore station and marker light in the Gulf of Mexico, Florida and the Caribbean islands that I checked are showing " not presently transmitting" or not transmitting for 6 - 21 hours. As of February 8th 7am est.

Ahoymateys. Fantastic app….updated constantly. We are in St Maarten and off to SBH tomorrow and so fun to see all the action. I just feel for the poor Harbour Master in Gustavia and off-shore action. This person deserves a medal

New update is buggy. This update hasn’t been good. Sometimes it is way behind where the ships actually are. And then it will load and be normal. Then it will load and be off again

Pay up to use….. This will show boats and give you the boat’s name, nothing more, without $7 upgrade. Far better free apps out there. Deleting this app after about 2 minutes…..

Useless app. This app is absolute garbage. We live right near the ships going by yet it will say no ships found. Or it says ship not transmitting. Absolutely a waste of download.

Wonderful app. Love the app. I use it daily to observe the ships in the Great Lakes. I get so many compliments and inquires about what this great app is ..with the ship pics format on the app that actually look like ships. It is informative and I appreciate it so much for ship watching.

What is going on?. I tried the free app and it works fine, but then after downloading the "pro"....I get nothing more. I want my money back or fix this!!!!!!

Slow, inaccurate. Too bad the app doesn’t deliver. The concept is great, but it is slow and often completely inaccurate.

Just ok. Disappointing! 70 percent of the time you can't track a certain boat or your favorites! If your trying to track a private yacht over 100 feet in length, Good luck! Because it's up to the boat owner whether they want to be tracked or not! Also the pro version for 9.99$ is no better than the fre bee!

Hardly Useful. I can never find boats on the Great Lakes, always getting messages that the vessels aren't transmitting their position. Don't waste your time and money, use other free AIS websites. Funny, the vessels are transmitting their positions to those sites.

Pay for features that used to be free. This is a fun app for those of us who enjoy Brooklyn Bridge Park and similar places dense with boats. Less fun is the way info about the boats used to be free but now costs $5.

Dont track well!. Don’t know what they use to track ships but don’t work well, not even if the ship is a shore. I have been following the allure of the seas and for the past 2 days got no report, they had stopped in San Juan P R and in Haiti and still showing the ship in around St Thomas No reliable app!

No info. I was so excited to download Boat Watch. I live on Lake Erie on the East side of Cleveland, Ohio. I see ships multiple times a week and at all hours of the day and night. The free version of Boat Watch was so impressive I decided to spend $4.99 for the better one. Now every time I see a ship, I open the app. And EVERY time, the ship that I can SEE out my back window is not shown on my app. I get no information and it simply isn't visible on the app. I would not have even taken the time to write a bad review except that when I went to rate the app through the app, the developers made it impossible. If you want to rate the app a 3 or lower, they reroute you to contact the developers. I clicked on the email link and the app FROZE. I tried multiple times and even tried after rebooting my iPhone. It was then that I decided I should alert others. I do not recommend buying this app.

Where did the NOAA charts layover go?. I have used this app for months and loved it. It is a valuable asset for doing my job. I especially loved the NOAA chart layover. Yesterday, when I wanted to use my app all of a sudden the NOAA charts were gone. Restoring purchases didn’t bring them back, reinstalling the app didn’t do the trick and I don’t see any option to select the NOAA charts layover as I was able in the past. Please help!

Nice but not as good as some. It lacked AIS reports for many ships in rivers I visited. Private luxury craft were missing as well as Tugs along Southeast US ICW. Other free AIS apps did show.

Piece of garbage. This app has no capabilities at all. It's merely a scam to get you to pay for the Pro version for $7.99, and who knows if that works?! Don't waste your time, effort or money. This thing could track a cork bobbing in a toilet!!!

Terrible. Does rarely track Celebrity? Says they cannot be tracked as they are out to sea??? WHY WOULDN’T THEY BE! They are cruise ships! SAVE YOUR $$$ on this one..

Worst app I ever had!. This is the worst app I ever had! I purchased upgrade and it charged me says restore is successfully and never works. Even after Apple upgrade this morning. Nothing! The worst app I ever had!

Wasted upgrade. I have used this previous years with success. This time it wasn’t working (there were no boats in off the coast of southern Florida), and so I figured I needed to purchase the offered 4.99 upgrade. Still no boats.

Boats on dry land?. The app consistently shows boats on dry land. I’ve also had issues with it incorrectly reporting location showing the boat I’m tracking to be somewhere that I know it is not while I’m in communication with someone actually on board

I don’t think so.... Usually seems accurate. At the moment I am near Cleveland, and allegedly there are two vessels. One going from Sault Ste. Marie to Two Harbors (eastbound no less) and one going from Rogers City to Cheboygan (eastbound). WRONG!!

Was great but stopped connecting after awhile. Great app nice detail But stopped connecting to network said network failure occurred.

Other Apps do a better job.. I don't really know the details of these ship reporting apps go grab their data, I just know that when I use this one and compare it to Marine Traffic or BoatNerd's AIS, they always seems to have a better representation of what I know is out there. As an example, the Soo Locks opened for traffic today and I know two boats are nearby waiting, and the Boat Watch app shows nothing. I pop over to Marine Traffic, and I see the two along with the supporting ice breakers. By the way, this is not an uncommon issue, and I can easily find other examples of this on a daily basis.

Great app & support team. Great app to identify ships and boats. Support team helped when I had issues.

Doesn't work all the time. This app has not been working consistently for the past month. Can see tankers and cargo ships cruising by condo but they are not shown on the app. Has something changed since this app seemed to be dependable until recently.

Stopped working. I have used this app happily for more than a year. Today it stopped, showing no ships even as I watched a car carrier moving up the Columbia river. Contact support? Nothing. I paid for an upgrade last year. Do they want an annual fee? A notice then would be helpful instead of a blank screen.

I wish I had read the reviews before !. The free app is a waste and the paid App is a total waste - i AM sitting in the center of Gustavia Harbour and surrounded by the largest and most expensive one ----- and the App sees nothing Will try to get a cancellation on my credit card ....

Revision of previous review. I did get a response and have now begun using and enjoying this app. This is the best app for boat spotting. I see the boat, I check it out on Boat Watch and get all the details I need about the vessel. The user's guide portion has great detail and tells me about ALL kinds of boats that I see. Next up I may download the nautical charts portion of the SeaNav app. I like it!

I didn’t order this. Still trying to get refund on this, looked at app and several others in app store. Now charge thirty bucks for something I don’t have boat to use with. One star for total frustration.

Not very impressive. When I first downloaded the app, it worked great. I can see the ship moving toward its destination... It was very cool. On day 2, I keep getting messages that the ship cannot be tracked, but when I check online through a different site, I get updated information within a ten minute window. Pop up adds are irritating... Need to spend more time providing the service instead of showing ads. I'm glad I didn't purchase the app. I would have thrown money out of the window. Proceed with caution.

Boat watch. They should add more movement to the map map movement and ship movement. They also should add the bouys

Worst. Does not show boat even when in front of you.

Bad choice. Doesn’t show Cruise Ships, detail info not complete, and not accurate. Don’t waste your money.

Disappointed. I wish I hadn’t of purchased this ap and the live view—- it doesn’t show anything “live” it’s historical views apparently and I e wasted $4.99 x2.

Stopped working. This app used to work. Now it's showing about 4 boats in all of Connecticut. Only one in Newport! It's July. There are more -- I'm sure of it. Perhaps they "fixed" this version now that they have a Pro version available for $7.99!!!!! Thanks for nothing.

Unreliable.. Downloaded this app for work purposes. At first (lite version) I had no issues. Once I paid for the full version, all of my troubles began. Again I use this for work purposes. There is a constant freeze or delay of ship movements or locations. At times the ships don’t even show up at all. Major waste IMO.
