Backgammon - Board Games Game Description & Overview

What is backgammon - board games app? Backgammon is a classic board game popular with many players around the world. Whether you are a beginner or expert player, this game may help to exercise your mind or relax after a long day at work. Enjoy classic gameplay right on your device, train your brain and have fun!

How to play Backgammon:

- Classic Backgammon is a logic puzzle for two, played on a board of 24 triangles called points.
- Each player sits on the opposite sides of the board with 15 checkers, black or white.
- To start the game, players take turns and roll the dice.
- Players move pieces based on the numbers rolled. For example, if you roll 2 and 5, you can move one piece 2 points and another one 5 points. Alternatively, you can move one piece 7 points.
- Once all of a player’s pieces are in his or her “home”, that player may begin removing pieces off of the board.
- A player wins once all of their pieces are removed from the board.

A few more things to know:

- Rolling two of the same number allows you to move 4 times. For example, for a roll of 4 and 4, you can move a total of 16 points, although each piece must move 4 points at a time.
- You cannot move a piece to a point that is occupied by 2 or more of your opponent’s pieces
- If you move a piece to a point with only 1 of your opponent’s pieces on it, the rival’s piece is removed from the board and placed on the middle partition.

Simple and intuitive design lets you focus on the gameplay and master your skills. Start your first round, challenge yourself and keep your brain active!

Program. At first the game was working well. However, around the 10th game I started to notice how the programming started giving doubles more in favor for the computer while my numbers were smaller amounts. It was to a point that I would say out loud that should be getting a large double to catch up in order to show it to win. I had three games in a row that I lost. I don’t mind losing cause then I can try use a different strategy to win. I moved on to another free version of the game with another company.

Rigged. I never fails, the computer almost always gets the dice roll. Always gets multiple multiple doubles. It lets you win a few times then bam it totally slaughters you. I can put multiple guys in the hole but the computer still wins. If you complain like I did about the doubles well, I don’t know how much I believe in coincidences like this. But not only do I rarely get doubles or the dice toss, I seem to be getting all low rolls. 2,3,1’s makes it impossible to win. I will keep the game because I like to play. But I may need an anxiety pill now and again. My addition to this game. After play for even more time. I believe this game is completely rigged. The computer almost always goes first. It always gets lots of doubles and even if your ahead and should win the computer will get more doubles and wins. I’ve deleted the game at this point. It hard to okay when you know it’s rigged. Good riddance to this game.

Game is rigged. Computer rolls doubles multiple times in a row, if your lucky to get one of their men on the bar miraculously they roll the perfect # to get off, I’ve had countless matches where I was ahead by a substantial amount of moves but once their players are all home it’s doubles and high rolls to secure the computer to win, I tested this by loading up my home and bouncing a man on the bar, leaving no areas or only the perfect roll to get off the bar, they either roll the perfect number or as my players start to go in the crib they automatically get high rolls and doubles to race home and win, Most of the other reviews are similar to this and are spaced out over the last year, the developers say they will look into it but they obviously don’t care and haven’t.

One big SCAM!!!!. First of all..the developer say’s they have a 4.6 out of 5 rating. That’s the first lie. If you look at the Read All on reviews there are 10 times as many 1s and 2s as 4s or 5s. I did not take the time to go through and total All Reviews but I can guarantee you that if totaled by an independent source their rating would be a 3 to 3.5 AT BEST! This what happens when you let the “crooks” regulate themselves. Look at how many reviews say the dice rolls ARE NOT random, something is WRONG when everyone is saying it. I would suggest if you are thinking of downloading this app that you look at Read All reviews don’t just look at their “rigged” overall rating of 4.6. Cause that’s a lie. Next the Developer Responses are so cockamamie as to be ludicrous. They read like my 7 year old granddaughter wrote them.. Bottom line if you think your being “cheated” by all means write a review but go one step further and let their advertisers know that you would never by anything that is advertised by “cheats”!!!

I think it’s rigged, too. I’m no expert at backgammon, but I’m no newbie, either. Over the few months I’ve played this app, I’ve noticed: 1. Silly doubling cube acceptance, seemingly based mostly on remaining pip count, regardless of number of chips left to bear off. 2. When given multiple shots at sending the opponent to the bar, my roll has failed to do so. I’m talking several rolls in a roll. Don’t give me your ‘law of large numbers’ excuse. 3. When way ahead, bearing off, with the opponent still occupying a point in my inner board, my rolls (almost) invariably cause me to leave a point vulnerable. I’ll then get hit and fail to come off the bar, even though opponent’s inner board is weak. 4. After ‘3’, opponent often gets multiple doubles and races to the finish. I have no idea what algorithm you’re using to generate rolls, if any, but it sure looks suspicious.

Mostly a great game, save for one issue.. In general, I love this game. However, the one thing that drives me nuts is how repetitive the dice throw results are. For example, if I throw a 1 and a 5, the game will seemingly get stuck on this outcome and give me the same exact numbers on the next couple of rolls. Whereas, my opponent will get doubles and then doubles again and then doubles again. I only got that once or twice. This is very unrealistic and leads to a frustrating gaming experience. Please fix this in future updates. Thanks!

Fun but freezes. Nice app but bombards the user with ads. Sometimes these adds “freeze” and won’t return the user back to the game. User will then need to start a new game instead of resuming the current one. Not worth the frustration of ads ever few minutes and then freezing. Will probable delete and look for a more stable app.

First Cat. The game makes bad moves consistently. When it moves one token using the count from both dice it doesn’t go after my exposed token. If it rolls 3 5 and playing 5 then 3 would put my token on the bar it will play 3 than 5. The token ends up in the same place but I don’t lose my token. If at the end of a game and we both have two tokens left with the game having the next roll and tokens on the 1 and 2 points and then rolls 1 2 it plays the 1 and then the 2. When the game doubles I can’t see the roll or board to make a good decision to accept. I question the dice rolls. I have played hundreds of games and never had doubles more than twice that took tokens off board but the game gets doubles more often and gets three and four doubles that remove tokens. One thing it does that gives me an advantage is that it lets me double when there is no way I can lose. I am new to backgammon so I shouldn’t win 75% of the time.

The game is rigged *and* writing review responses!. I agree with many of the genuine reviews that the game is clearly wired to favor whomever you’re playing against. I can frequently call what the opposing dice roll will be based on the lay of the board. I’m also bored of the opening rolls which will invariably be some combination of 5 or 7, or allow the player/game to cover (6 and 1, 5 and 3, 4 and 2, etc.) The game decides when and whom it wants to lose and that makes it a disappointing experience. I’d recommend reprogramming the game to favor the opponent only 50% of the time.

Nice. The game play is very good. It would be great to be able to change the style of the board. An assortment would be nice. The landing points are all the same color. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in real life. So the ability to change the board would be appreciated. Also being able to have live opponents would be worth paying more for.

Don’t Bother. While this such a simple game to learn, it is ruined by the AI governing the rolling of the dice. Each game features an inordinate amount of doubles - for both sides- as many as eight to ten sometimes. It throws the balance of the game so far out. It also has an inordinate amount of one dots appear it seems to me. Perhaps the way the game chooses to slant the game play toward a particular player. Lucky streaks and losing streaks do not appear in the games I have played in non-digital life. I am going to try others.

Computer gets unusual number of doubles. I don’t usually take the time to write a review, but wanted to in this case. I really enjoyed playing this game at first, but as others have commented, the computer seems to get a rather unusual number of doubles. I can be ahead going into the end of the game and then the computer will get so many doubles it is impossible to win. Definitely detracts from any enjoyment gained from playing. If your algorithm is going to give out doubles, it should be more equal.

Not Random. For novices, this is a decent game. For those at a higher level, the constant fixing of the dice for perfect placement (on both sides) takes the fun out of this. There are no stats, and the preset boards are ludicrous, as backgammon initial placements would make many of these scenarios impossible, and no sane player would put themselves in those positions. But alas, the optimal dice rolling always saves the day. To fix the game, provide a classic option, that does not fix the dice, and allow the player to choose the skill level of their opponent. Also need to have statistics…backgammon players love stats!!

Great challenge. This game is well-crafted. It's challenging enough for a lifetime (45 years) player, but not impossible (like some). I've tried a lot of backgammon apps, this one is the best I've found. Only problem I've found so far: it won't track win/loss record. Other than that, this game is perfect!

Ok. Computer starts first way more than half the time. Computer always seems to roll doubles when clearing the board. Computer can gets its pieces back on the board much faster than I can. Works fine but the dice always seems to favor the computer. Update: It is a fun game but the random number generator is anything but random. The computer gets to go first over 75% of the time. Once you start clearing the board, the computer will almost always get doubles multiple times while you will be lucky to get them once every third game. Computer gets its pieces back on the board MUCH faster then it will let you get yours back on the board. Almost ready to delete this game and find a better backgammon game

Don’t bother.. This game is another fraud. No actual coding here. Just applying scripts and setting odds so it’s not a random game of strategy and luck. Just another boring game that makes sure you win a couple to start. Then you will lose 20 games in a row. I literally had a local backgammon champ play. He lost twice in a row and said the game was a joke. 9 doubles for my opponent on average per game. Me? Usually one set. And it’s never higher than double threes. If the game is smart enough to cheat when playing better strategy, why not just make a game with better strategy. Do NOT waste you time on this cruddy game.

Chance missing and postcards no go. The rolls are rigged. Never once did I get a double, but the computer rolled doubles several times. I was very far ahead but the computer fixed it so he had all the pieces in the home before I could roll to complete my game. The “chance” isn’t there. Plus the postcards aren’t much of a prize… who would complete all those games for solitaire of backgammon… There could be a little better prize than that… I like how you can undo, and I like the way the moves are highlighted… I generally like backgammon. I had an electronic one that let you enter moves if you had a pair of dice.

Great game! But one bug…. Great game! I’m really enjoying it. It’s user friendly, well made, and works well. One bug I’ve encountered: I will select the Doubling cube x2, the game accepts it, but when I win, I still only get 1 point — but I should get 2 points. Meanwhile if the game selects Doubling x2, and I accept, and it wins, it gets 2 points. Could you please fix this? Thanks!

Bad design, silly AI. If you enjoy the challenge of playing tic tac toe against a toddler while always going first, this is your game. These comments all involve playing with the doubling cube being on (the only interesting way to play backgammon). First, the game doesn’t follow the rules in that it allows the human player to see his roll prior to deciding to double. This is unfair to the AI player. At the same time, if the AI doubles the human player, the screen that pops up totally obscures the entire board so you better have a photographic memory to decide whether your position is such that you should accept. The above problems seem to be one’s pretty easy for the developer to fix. The AI (or lack of it) is not so easy to fix. It simply plays in such a way that, while it follows the basic rules, does so in no discernibly strategic way. With some of its pieces still on the outer board but past all my pieces, as I am bearing off, the AI will allow itself to be gammoned by using its moves for pieces in its home board instead of bringing the outer pieces home. It appears to operate entirely according to pip count as it will take a double even while blocked from reentering the board just because it’s pip count is ten ahead. Under some circumstances it will even accept doubling at the end when it is mathematically impossible for it to win. So if it’s really important to always win, this is the backgammon game for you.

not fair. the game overall is fine, but the ai is constantly rolling doubles, and i will get a double at most twice a game while the ai will roll doubles up to four times in a row. i understand they say it’s completely random, but it is not random if this happens almost every game where the computer is just rolling doubles constantly. there is no way for me to win if the computer is rolling double fours and double sixes all the time and i’m only rolling a one and a two. also if i have the computers checker on the bar, i have never seen them roll and not be able to put theirs down, they seem to always be able to roll the perfect number for them not not miss a turn, while i will miss 1-4 turns just because it just so happens to roll me just the wrong number. make it make sense

Too many Game Ads. After playing 2 warm up games ( with ads in between) to refresh my brain on how to play, I began. Unfortunately while playing my second game, they begin putting up ads every second move. That’s right every second move I made I had to stop and wait and wait and wait for game add to finish so I could close it and get back to my game. It has made me not want to play anymore after being so excited. I’m deleting!

Fun but the adds. I finally beat the game 15-0, 11-0, 5-0, 3-0, 1-0 but doing so took me so long because of the ads that will come up during it. There are way to many adds some even popping up 2-3 times a game. You can make a purchase for $6 dollars to get rid of them but seems like quite a bit if you ask me ($2.99 seems like a better price but who am I to judge them on their pricing). I think the program maybe incentivizing taking opponents off the board since there was multiple opportunities I left open to test and it would skip over it despite not posing any additional risk to it. Overall was a good game and the challenges were fun to explore. I wish the algorithm would change to see these openings as I think it would be more fun!

Good, not great. I like the clean look, the daily challenges, the free play. I do not like that inferiority complex of having computer winning on last piece of pictures with ridiculous roll sequences… for example computer just rolled (most recent game) pair 6s followed by pair 5s, a 5 and 3 (to clean up what was left outside the first point, then pair of 3s to win. Absurd sequence, what is wrong with a truly random dice roll? I have yet to find a good backgammon with a truly random roll. Also, the computer plays very conservative. Rarely kicks tiles, always plays lower die number first (ie. If roll is a 3 and 1 and the stones are going out with last two stones on points 3 and 1, computer will move from point 3 to point 2 and then from 2 out instead of going out with both stones). Finally, takes a bit more work but playing live against opponents would be an improvement as well. Overall a good great with possibility of being great with a few tweaks. A few minor tweaks and could be the best backgammon game available.

Seems Fixed to me. When I first started playing this app I was winning my fair share of games After about a week of playing the AI gets on average 8 to 10 doubles per game. I could be ahead and then it starts rolling the doubles. So frustrating. While I like the style and looks of this game over others I’ve tried I am considering deleting the app I just have to find one that plays the same and same game options that isn’t rigged to roll doubles Like I said, in the beginning it will be fair. You’ll both hit a double the same amount of times. Maybe 2 to 4 times during each game. After you get hooked, you’ll see the AI hitting doubles around 8 times during the game. Especially when you’re near the end. You’ll have double pips off the board and it will jump right ahead of you to win the game. So not fair. I hope they can solve this problem. 🤞

Format is great but the dice are loaded.. Love the way the thing looks and everything about it. EXCEPT, contrary to another review that I read, the dice are NOT random. I’ve gone through games for the computer rolls doubles continually and never gives me one. Or I’ll get doubles and then on the bare off, if it’s close to losing, it magically gets two or three doubles when bearing off. You can’t tell me that’s random dice rolls. If it were truly random, it would be the best game out there.

Display and AI Logic. First off, for ease of play the “points” ought to have alternating colors and not all be the same color. It makes counting/determining your moves much easier/quicker. Then, as others have notes, the AI for the game does not play very smart. When given an opportunity to play offensively, seems that it will rarely send opponent’s piece to the bar. And when given the chance to play defensively, does not seem to attempt to cover points. I have SEVERAL of your games loaded, and most are good/challenging, this one still needs to have it’s underlying logic tweaked.

This game is a good teacher. I was very annoyed playing this game in the beginning and gave a not so good review. Since then I have played it almost everyday and I find that this is an excellent game to LEARN to play the game. Each game requires a different strategy to beat the computer— yes the dice choices most of the time favours the computer and forces you to make vulnerable moves and take risks. But it teaches you to play an aggressive game and take reasonable risks. Since my last review I have been able to win every single game ( I had to play some several times) by altering my playing strategy. I learned how not to always play defensive. Appreciate this as a teacher and not treat it as an opponent to beaten all the time. You will enjoy it

Unfair. I agree with another review about the doubles. I have been playing this game for sone time and doubles for me is now rare and far between. On the other hand my “opponent” rolls doubles multiple times a game. Also my opponent never leaves a checker open. Like magic it’s moves always leaves two checkers on a spot. It is very rare for that not to happen. And when it has an open checker in almost every instance my rolls do not permit me to land on it. If you play a decent game of backgammon it will learn and adjust to make it almost impossible for you to win. It you like to be frustrated and be continually manipulated, this game is for you.

Suggestions. A good start on a backgammon game, but improvements are needed. The board design could be improved. The points should have alternating colors. The roll to see who moves first is normally the winner’s first move. There is not an additional roll. Doubling is done before the roll, not after. That is the standard rule. My opponent made a lot of bad moves, especially when racing and bearing off. There should be a setting to play a more advanced player. This is the biggest problem. My opponent made huge blunders. Take a look at GNU Backgammon.

Not random die. Play this game very frequently and very suspicious of the amount of supposedly random doubles thrown in a row including unrealistic moves that leave me easy takings So much so I feel it’s almost predicable what games I’m going to loose/win based on how many I’ve played out of set of games. When you start to get red flags I believe in trusting your instinct on. Good for beginner learning but that’s about it. My response the apps email. reply to my comment: I’m 57 and been playing “board” physical backgammon with dice for approx 35 years. I pretty much understand the random die scenarios on throws and doubles etc incl Plays that you just don't/shouldn’t miss. In my opinion the algorithm/programming on this game does not feel right so much to say that I feel confident to say that it does not replicate real life hands on plays. But as I mentioned it is good for those wanting to understanding the game

Rolling of the dice, not random. At first, the rolling of the dice seem to be random but recently I’ve noticed the computer gets more doubles than I did the more I started winning the more I noticed the computer was getting 5, 6, or 7 doubles in the game, and I only got one. I noticed the computer has the strategy of building up all the chips on its home plate before taking them off instead of taking a chip off on a roll. It keeps consolidating all the chips to the number one and two position before it will take them off the board. With this strategy, I was always winning the games.

I love backgammon. I learned how to play backgammon a couple months ago and I also play with my mom and gramma.I love this game because it is a old game and I love it ,I can play it all day long. Some backgammon games are not fair but this one is it will increase your IQ and I am getting smarter and smarter each time you play you learn a lot of Strategy

Completely rigged. I have never reviewed an app before but this game is completely aggravating. Their response to all of the rigged reviews is that the dice are randomized. That is entirely false. I have played this game for about 9 months. On the higher difficulty modes the computer doesn’t play any different, but has unbelievable rolls every single game. You will only win the game if you have at LEAST 60-70 move lead (even then it’s not guaranteed) The final 4-5 rolls will yield 2-3 doubles for the AI almost every game. I have started counting the double rolls and it is consistently 5-6 minimum doubles for the AI per game and 1-2 for the user.

Annoying. I was disappointed with this game since I’ve really enjoyed some of Easy Brain’s other games. The backgammon games are infuriatingly stacked against you. Your opponent is always going to roll more doubles, roll exactly what they need, and you’re rarely ever going to get the dice roll you need to hit your opponent’s open piece. I’ve played for a while and the regularity of the unfairness has made it too annoying to continue playing. I wouldn’t mind the constant ads as much if it was just more fairly matched. Don’t waste your time with this one - there are too many other versions that are more fun.

The dice are not random. I have now been playing this game 20 to 30 times per day for more than a week. Within the first day I suspected the dice were not random. So I started charting the dice throws. 1) When black (the computer) has all the men on the home bored, and is bearing off, Black gets more than twice as many doubles as white does in the same situation. 2) when black puts a white token on the bar, approximately 80% of the time, white next role brings up only numbers for which there is no possible move. When Black has a man on the bar, blacks first roll gets that man back on the board 70% of the time. In short, the game is rigged.

still fun but frustrating and seems fixed. The opponent, and sometimes the player will roll 3 & 4 doubles in a row usually during the final phase and if the opponent needs one, random combination to hit you, they most certainly will roll it. The opponent almost always wins the opening toss. Throughout the game, but especially during pulling the opponent seems to get an unnatural amount of doubles and if you have an open slot during pulling, you will surely roll that number multiple times, but then just to throw you a bone, AI will make your last roll a double when you’ve already won and it doesn’t help you. There are so many reviews repeating this information, and it appears that the developers are replying saying that this is a random experience but the reply is probably AI too!

Most honest computerized Backgammon. This particular backgammon game DOES NOT CHEAT. I am particularly good at Backgammon. I have played this game for at least fifty years. I can vouch that this game DOES NOT CHEAT. So unlike so many computerized backgammon that seem to roll the dice to their benefit in their time of need, this game is on the level. My only regret is that it does not offer me the challenge I would like to have. Some, not all, but, some of their moves are sheer entry level.

Game is easy to beat. I've played this app countless times. I do not understand why so many people are saying the game is stacked in favor of the opponent. I win every match played. I beat every daily puzzle. If anything, the game is not aggressive enough. It never hits a blot when it should be hitting. Instead of rolling pieces off when it can, it moves pieces closer to a roll off. And watch the scoring, I've noticed if the opponent has nothing rolled off when I have cleared all my pieces- that is a 2 point game. And there are scoring rules when you backgammon the opponent.

3.5 overall - mostly fun but feels a bit too rigged. Definitely mostly fun, I also paid to remove the ads because they are indeed very annoying. Few negatives: very skeptical of the die rolls adhering to natural/random probabilities. While not impossible, there are sequences of multiple doubles in a row back to back on both sides that are not infrequent. The opponent nearly always rolls perfectly such that they rarely end up with a blot. Also, when the opponent offers to double, the menu to agree or decline covers the board so you don’t have a way to consider based on your current position if you hadn’t immediately checked before the offer. But if you’re looking to learn or improve your strategy, it’s great for quick play and visualizing all your options.

Love backgammon. I like this app - especially without ads. Can you add overall stats so I can see my game and match wins and winning percentage in addition to the current match score? Also I’d like to have board options with alternating points in different colors. It makes it easier to see the move options. I also play your Sudoku game daily and enjoy that too. Thanks!

Rigged. While this game has potential, it falls short of that. This game works in a way of unpredictability keeping the player locked in so the belief of winning is there but the chances are less than probable. I’ve had this game for three days and I have noticed favorability of the dice towards the computer. In real life this would be considered a fixed dice and the opponent would be considered a cheater but this is a phone. The other part is during the entire game or the entire time I am on the app I am bombarded with a plethora of ads that are irrelevant to me in the game. And I have noticed while reading the responses to the reviews that the creator of the game is like oh no it’s not big and we’re sorry you feel that way but do nothing to actually change it because they know that it’s working for them. Just uninstall the game and play it online at a different website because this app is not worth it.

Definitely rigged... UPDATE…. This game still shows favorably toward the computer… obviously others feel the exact same way… if it is designed to be the luck of the roll , then I am terribly unlucky… Quite frankly, it is unreal how unfair it appears 90% of the time…. I do not know enough of the behind the scenes…algorithms or whatever you call it… BUT something is not right! I have played tooooo many times for a very long time and everything is the same…almost predictable! Just saying…just a shame….😞 I have been playing for a while now. Although I do get doubles from time to time, it seems very rigged for the computer to always get 2 to 3 sets of doubles in the final quadrant. I have given it enough time to see if it equals out or balances out and it doesn’t. I have tried different ways of playing each game after I lose and inevitably the computer gives my opponent two and three sets of doubles in a row. It’s gotten to the point where it’s not fun anymore. I’m not a sore loser. But accept the challenge after I do lose to replay and try a different strategy. Time to move on…

Greatest game if these two flaws are fixed. I am an avid BG player and I love this app over all other games as much as I truly hate it. Please fix these and you’ll have the best BG game on the market 1- the dice roll is extremely one sided the number of doubles the computer gets are ridiculously high and player gets hardly any. 2- the computer does not kill the obvious opponent’s single chip especially in upper left quadrant This game is well designed but Please FiX These two flaws!!!!🙏🙏🙏cheers!

A little unfair. I love this app, i love this game and i have fun doing it, but it’s annoying that I’ll be doing really well and the computer I’m playing against gets doubles back to back and wins the game because of that a lot of the time. I’ll have all my pieces at home 4 or moves before them, and then they have good rolls again and again and i loose. It wouldn’t trouble me if it didn’t happen so many times, I’ve probably played 30/40 times now. It’s just a little annoying. Otherwise it’s perfect and i love it.

Backgammon. Ads are too long and too frequent. I don’t object to the ads, I object to the length of the ads. Often, the ads will jam the program requiring me to turn the device off, wait a bit, and restart the program. I especially dislike the ads shutting me out of a game in process, interrupting my train of thought. Some games achieve a decent balance of ads to game time. Remember this is supposed to be entertainment.

Love it!. This is my favorite backgammon app by a long shot. I paid the one time fee for no ads - totally worth it. The daily challenge is a lot of fun to play - now they’re adding events so there’s even more of those! It’s very fair in dice rolls compared to other games. It does seem to have one way to play and once you learn it it’s easy to win nearly every time. But the challenges make it all worth it.

Too many ads. I would rather pay than be interrupted a couple of times per game for terrible non skippable ads. I know the developer doesn’t choose the ads displayed but I imagine the developer chooses the frequency of the ads. There are gameplay issues like not being able to see the board when asked to double and weird moves from the computer but those have been addressed better in other reviews. I like the simplicity of the look of the game and I want independent developers to succeed!

Laughable. The game is heavily skewed to favor the computer. It almost always rolls the correct number to keep from leaving any pieces exposed. If you do land on the computers piece it will ALWAYS roll the right number to land on your piece. The computer rolled double sixes 4 times in a row while I rolled a one on one die about 12 times in a row (usually with a 2 or 3 to go with it). If you are ahead the computer will roll high number doubles multiple times. The best part is that the developer responds to every review saying the game is fair. They think we’re all too stupid to understand what’s happening even though we see it with our own eyes. You’d think they’d want to keep players instead of driving them away.

Computer gets higher value dice and doubles. Every time the computer starts falling behind, it suddenly begins rolling double 4, 5, or 6 dice. And it is statistically impossible for a random generator to roll a 1 & 2 combination so often for the player. This game is simply an ad generator to get you to watch as many ads as possible.

Unlikely dice rolling for opponent. I’ve been playing backgammon my entire life so I thought this game would be fun. There is no chance this game is set to actual dice rolling probability. I finally deleted it when I was winning the game with all my chips in the home board and the opponent was significantly behind. All of a sudden, the “opponent” rolled 5 doubles out of 6 rolls after I had already started bearing off. The game seems to make is so the opponent will win at least 2/5 games if you have it set to 3 wins. If you are a good player, that means the game has to make up for it with giving the opponent multiple doubles.

Systems dice is loaded. Developer says it’s a fair setup but out of 10 games the system had 22 high doubles to my 7 doubles also the system had 6 low doubles to my 5 low doubles. Board knock off’s were 14 to 7 in favour of the system. I’ve played all the backgammon’s in the store and this one is nearly impossible to beat and yes I payed for it because the developer told me the full version would be fairer.

AI too easy to beat. This is generally a good game. It looks good, there are not too many ads (normally 1 or 2 during a game, plus one at the end) and I do not think the rolls favour the AI. One point of improvement I would like to see is the AI making smarter moves. Recently, I have noticed it missing obvious chances to hit me. For example, I had 2 unprotected pieces on points 5 and 7. The AI had a piece on the bar. It rolled a 5 and 2, meaning it could have hit both of my pieces. But instead it put the bar piece on point 2, and moved a different piece for the 5. These inexplicably bad decisions has made it too easy to beat the AI. It would be nice to see it improved, with different difficulty settings so that beginners can still enjoy the game too.

Backgammon and Add. Great game just a little too frequent on the advertising, but can finish them quicker with the options

Backgammon. Far too many adds

To many adds.. I enjoy backgammon but you have way to many adds, mostly annoying during a game.

Ads pop up after each play after, so you will need to watch an ad after every turn. The first 5 guys were good, only ads after the game. But then it changes to an ad after every single turn. Very annoying.

So many doubles for the NPC ruins game!. This game gives disproportionate doubles to itself. I wouldn’t mind if it was a bit to its own advantage but the ratio is 6 to 1 - deleted game as was meant to be relaxing but was just a frustrating waste of time.

Probability algorithm is biased. It’s a good stable app and I enjoy the game. However, as other reviews have noted, the probability algorithm is biased in favor of the computer. Not sure if this is meant to make the game “challenging” or is just a bug. The player can be in endgame and the computer in triple backgammon. 5 doubles in a row and the computer wins. This happened 3 games in a row. A statistical anomaly.

Werid positions. I’m new to backgammon but I’ve never seen a board look anything like the challenge setup.

Biased rubbish. Tested this out over a 3 day period. Dice rolls favoured the AI over 78% of the time. Whenever it needs a high double or to hit an exact number it gets it. Whenever you need the same, you get nothing. Too high a statistical sample for it to be a normal result so it’s just biased rubbish that favours the AI. Give this game a wide berth and play online against other human players.

Slow!. Very slow

Not that good. Easy to beat. The AI always plays safe and prefers a running game. Hardly any challenge at all to beat it. Even the daily challenges are pretty easy to win.

Enough with the long adds. Good simple board play interrupted by adds and long adds too.

Backgammon. The set up is easy to use and learn but the dice favour the system with more doubles. Also, if there is one of your dice stranded on its own you can guarantee that the opponent will throw that exact number to send you back to the start.

Too many adds!!!. Too many long adds, short adds no problems. Long adds OMG NO!!

Happy. Helps waste your time very amusing

Too complex. You have to select which counter to move, then choose where to move, then confirm moves!!! Click and drag is soooo much better!

Confusing for newcomers. Two issues: firstly the tutorial explains a couple of basic features, but no explanation of others. For instance, it appears there are extra moves for rolling a double - but that wasn’t explained. Also, there was no explanation of the points system and doubling cube options offered on starting a new game. Secondly, in one game it bore off checkers based on any number equal to or greater than the number required, but in another game it required the exact number to be rolled. What gives??

Too many ads. Good game but way too many ads interrupting game play. If you want a pleasant game with no ads interrupting then this is NOT it. I found it annoying beyond acceptable. Uninstalling.

AI cheats!. Enjoy playing the game but it’s amazing how many doubles and just the right dice roll your opponent gets in the daily challenge.

Backgammon done well. This was just what I was looking for. It’s the traditional game I have long loved, created in an intuitive and easy to use app form. The daily challenges give some nice variety and interest. I did just pay a small amount to remove ads, but they were less frequent and shorter than many other apps when playing ad supported, which I appreciated.

Doubles. Seems like the iPad gets many more doubles then the player. Si have counted and sometimes there are three sets of doubles right at the end Zzzzzzzszzssxx

Developer fixed the AI model- thanks. The game is better now- thank you

Good game. But when you are winning the roll of dice goes against you

Dice are unbiased. Good to come across a backgammon app where the dice throws don’t appear to be biased. Just need to skip the ads when able. I like it.

Too many doubles. Games ok but too many ads and doubles for computer

Don’t expect a fair game. The “random” dice rolls here are heavily weighted to give the game exactly what it needs on most rolls. Double sixes, the precise number to capture you etc. it teaches you to play very defensively but you’ll lose a lot as the rolls go against you almost every time.

Ai biased. I can unequivocally say that the ai is biased, the amount of times ai rolls a double is beyond probability. Infuriating. Have played many other board game apps, majority of which are straight up the middle - this is the exception to the rule.

Too many ads. Too many ads. Backgammon is ok but ads are terrible

Love it. Love it

No Dark Mode Annoying Ads. No dark mode means you can’t play at night without burning your eye sockets. I’m also growing ore and more convinced that these ads are putting fake Xs that take you to their website instead of closing. That or the clickable area over the button is TINY. Like 70% of the ads I’ll hit close and it leaves the app and takes me to their website or App Store.

Game cheats. I don’t recommend this app. It generates doubles multiple times in a row in favour of your opponent, keeps you off the board for 6-7 rolls after you have been bumped, and rolls low numbers consecutively while trying to bear off. Not fun. Poor programming unfortunately.

Computer. The ruling of the day seems to be much more in favour of the computer. It can have three or four doubles in a row while the player has none. No fair!

Robby. It cheats way too much it always gets a perfect role when it’s up on the bar involving a hit and doubles way too often especially when it’s behind

It is not random. I really had fun with this game at first but I played 10 games in a row and got doubles only 2x (snake eyes & 4) when the NPC received a min of 4 per game in higher pairs. That’s when I noticed it, but I’ve been playing is for days and it keeps happening. I was winning and about to start clearing my board, and after receiving 3 already, the NPC got 4 pairs in a row (6,5,6) and cleared the board before I got 4 in the slot. Also, the NPC always gets the perfect combo to never have a piece on the board without it stacked with at least 1. Whereas I only get it half the time. I keep seeing the company reply back to comments like this and say that it is randomized, but when so many people are commenting this, and I’ve experienced it myself, I don’t believe it. It’s something that should be looked into because at some point, the game is not fun anymore.

Bad dice hazard. No hazard in dice rolling. Boring game because the game is deciding if you win or not. A gamer that has win against you as high chance to win again when playing against you again with having unfair rolling results. Deleting the game after a few years, tired of this behaviour.

Way too many ads. Just what the title says. Too many ads disrupt the game. Deleting and looking for a better backgammon app.

I didn’t like the game. Very slow and not user friendly

Poor programming. Computer almost always wins. The game isn’t enjoyable when the computer seems to always roll doubles, conveniently when it’s exactly what is needed to win. The dice rolls are definitely not fair.

Great, but have a question. It’s a great game and nicely designed graphics and interactions. But we are playing against the “computer”, correct? There are no real opponents involved online, are there?

Tricherie. J’ai gagné deux partie , le résultat est de 2 à 2 POURQUOI Mon adversaire devrait avoir 0

Fun Game but Def Rigged. Developer can say all they want about random rolls but there is little doubt the algorithm is biased towards the computer. If you get ahead the computer will “magically” get a bunch of doubles or perfect rolls to make it close or to even eke out a win. Still fun but you will be lucky to win 30% of games you play. Ads are annoying but to be expected if you don’t wanna pay.

Me. My opponent seems to get an unreasonable amount of doubles and when a person can’t get through one game without an advertisement popping up then there are way too many advertisements in my opinion. App is getting deleted.

Double cube. When playing with double cube on, the game is not visible when opponent challenges with 2x. This forces a decision based on memory and guesswork

Too many doubles. This is not a fun version as the digital opponent gets so many more doubles …

Missed opportunities. Missing Turkish, and partner play

Great apart from the ads…. Great apart from the ads….

Full of ads. Full of ads, between two ads there is an ad

Fun. It’s a fun easy version of the game, good for beginners and those trying to get better ….and it’s free, with short Ads, not the 30sec kind

Too easy. Tooeasy

Game Rules. There are two rules the app doesn’t follow: 1. Upon bearing off, when you have two pieces taken out of the same slot and you don’t have a double, the higher number is taken into account first. 2. When you have at least one on the bar with no way of getting back into play, your opponent keeps rolling until a slot opens.

Unfair dice-throw. I know its random dice throwing, but the black(opponent) gets a lot more double-dice throws and also wins the starting draw more often than the player. Might want to look into the algorithms to make the game more fair and fun.

Ads are stupid. Too many ads. Deleting app

Le parfait coup. Très décevant de voir combien de double l’adversaire a durant une partie comparativement à nous .... Les coups sont très bien orchestré afin de rétablir la différence entre les deux joueurs .

Cheating piece of crap. This game will not let you win. It will get 3-4 sets of doubles and your lucky to get one set per game. If it can knock you back guaranteed it will get the exact roll to knock you back but you won’t get the same chance when you roll.

An exercise in frustration. Very biased. No matter how strategically you play the computer will ALWAYS get the perfect roll.

Unfair. I am maybe not a good player, but it obvious the game algorithm has better dices and it is advantageous to the house.

Double?. Le seul problème est que je ne peux plus doubler

Great little game. Great little game. Ads are interrupting the gameplay between turns (not between games) are a little annoying, but thankfully they are short!

Unrealistic game play. I have been playing backgammon for 40 years, never have I seen someone get 5 doubles in a row.

Fixed. Computer is rigged so it will win far more than person. Number of doubles far exceeds what it would be in reality

Cheats. This game is set up so the computer gets the dice rolls that it needs to win and the opponent to lose. It rolls it’s self the perfect moves. It’s so common to roll itself doubles after doubles as well and you might get one or two double 1 or 2s. Rarely anything higher. You always get low rolls and some times it rolls the same low dice roll after roll. To the developer, when you set up your players to always lose, they lose interest quickly in your games.

Suggestion.

Frustrating. Odds of winning …. Even a few times are pretty slim Every time you are close to winning the opponent throws doubles

Doubling cube. Great until the last update, now the doubling cube is not working.

Backgammon. Addicted to this game

Backgammon game. I hate the game interruptions with other games. If it continues I’ll stop playing backgammon

Still Great Fun. I’ve been playing backgammon for years! Even more fun using this app!

Great Game. But I noticed that the dice for the ‘house opponent’ gets a lot better rolls of the dice. I deleted the app!

A.I. Is cheating. How can a person have fun when they’re playing against an A.I. that is also controlling the dice rolls? It’s statistically impossible for the “opponent” to have so many more doubles that the person playing. That’s not a challenge - that’s cheating. Definitely NOT fun. DELETE

Not great. The app constantly rolls doubles for the computer and humans get virtually none

Decent for a Free Game. A reasonable version of backgammon. Lots of ads, and ads in the middle of games too, unfortunately. Daily challenges are a fun addition.

House wins almost 75%. Dice rolls are NOT random. The game is fun, but you can be clearly winning and the house will get multiple doubles to back to back to win out of nowhere. And if you have a single piece it always gets the dice roll number to hit it. Dice rolls are NOT random and clearly, frustratingly favour the house!!!

Make it horizontal, save my charging cable!. Love the game, even paid for the no-ad version. HATE portrait mode. Hard to hold iPad, and my charging cable keeps getting bent. Please provide option for horizontal mode.

Backgammon. Fun and relaxing. Win or lose, I like this game.

Backgammon. It’s meh.

Backgammon. Please, make the triangle spikes alternate colours.white, brown, white brown Or yellow, brown. Whatever you chose, just not all the same colour. Thanks for a great game

Pop up ads. Too many pop up ads which distract from the game. Opponent has unusual number of doubles.

Random Dice Rolls? No Way. Im a programmer and there is no way this game is random. And it makes sense. You want a bit of mindless fun, and to win that days challenge, so it’s more advantageous for this developer to have you play longer as that means more ads can be put in front of your eyeballs. I have now played at least 120 daly challenges, eventually winning each. But not after losing 1 to 3 times for each win. And patterns of what the game does clearly becomes more evident as you play. For each double you get, the game gets 4 to 6. The game constantly gets dice combinations that allow for doubling up, while you often can not have the same move choices as the game is forcing you with limited choices or have your pieces open for taking. Then when I put the game on the bar, with 4 or 5 spots doubled (one or two open for the game), the computer still gets back on the board .. while when Im on the bar, with three slots open, Im more than often fail over 2 or three rolls. And again - because they want you to lose to then have you play again to get that challenge so as to show you more ads. If you dont mind replaying the same game over and over again while you watch t.v. or whatever, then fine - you will eventually complete your daily challenge. But if your looking for fairness or randomness in this games play - don’t look here. Its a rigged game.

what’s going on here. before i start i wanna say that the tutorial is bare bones and to my recollection doesn't explain the third available option to combine the numbers on the dice and move one piece that number of spaces. while the game is fairly self explanatory once you know the basics, i would have appreciated a more in depth tutorial, perhaps even containing some strategy tips like other games sometimes do. Now to my main concern. i have noticed that my electronic opponent often rolls doubles more often than i do, which also frequently consist of bigger numbers. ordinarily i would accept such a flaw as bad luck or even welcome the extra challenge. however, in this game doubles play a large roll in turning the tide of the game. an example of this would be when i was on track to finish first and win, until my opponent received 2 rolls of double sixes in the homestretch. while i understand that there is a luck component to the game, it seems off that doubles are more frequently rolled towards the end of the game. I have no idea why such a flaw would be beneficial but i know others noticed it too, as you can read in other reviews. I will likely be trying a different backgammon app to compare, but other than the seemingly off odds, the game itself is still entertaining.

READ YOUR REVIEWS AND FIX IT!!. I see review after review claiming that the house cheats. I completely agree with that. You guys keep making excuses, and saying it doesn’t. I just lost two games in a row I should’ve won, but the House threw three doubles in a row at the last minute. Beat me by one both times. It pisses me off. The truth is you have one of the best built backgammon games I’ve seen, but I know I am fighting a losing battle and I’m about to give up on it.

Excellent Online Backgammon. I’ve tried online Backgammon and this is the only one that I will return to playing. It’s straightforward, with no ridiculous graphics and has sound effects like the real playing of the game. Thanks!!

Waaayy too many ads.. You can not get through ONE game without having to sit through at least 2 ads. If you try and fwd through the ad, it opens the App Store. When the add is finally done, and you try to close it, it opens the App Store AGAIN! Only after two closes will it continue the game. This is for EACH ad. I understand that free apps are paid for by ads, and I would understand after each game an ad is played. But once I close the ad, DON’T make the user have to close the App Store too.

Rigged?. This game seems rigged to make sure you lose a number of games. I’ll be killing the game & suddenly my “opponent” will get 5 doubles. I had it knocked off in another game and one opening and it came in on doubles of that number. Initially when I downloaded this app I won every game by a landslide and then stuff happened that would never happen in a real game of backgammon

Terrific site. Very easy to get used to playing on this site compared to some of the other side side played on. But I haven’t tried a lot of sites yet, and a friend of mine told me that there’s a much better site than this. But I really like this site a lot

Not random dice rolls. I have played hundreds of games on this app, and the dice rolls are not random. Sometimes I will get the same roll 2 or three times in a row. Other times, doubles will come up many times in a game. It is annoying. Also, the opponent makes stupid moves that a human would not made. Other than that, the game is entertaining.

Dice rolls are ridiculous. I prefer a completely arbitrary dice roll with worthy opponents. This means you win some you lose some. However, when I start losing game after game after game after game because the “opponent” rolls 3 doubles in a row, has about 7 doubles in one game, always seems to roll exactly what they need to cover their spot or attack yours and I get nonstop poor rolls, it gets pretty tiring. Moving on….

Agree with Program review. I agree with the ‘Program’ review . The computer almost always rolls the higher numbers and doubles. In the past 10 games I have had 1 double while the computer gets several per game, sometimes 2 or 3 doubles in the end game. I would thing you would have fixed it after the first complaint but since you did not, I too will be moving on to a different game that is not so much blatant unfairness in it.

Computer is the luckiest person alive. I enjoy games like this, but as I’m playing, can’t help notice the computer is only beating me because the dice rolls. I literally just played a match that I was way ahead, then the computer rolled doubles 4 times in 6 turns! I’m not a mathematician, but the odds of that have to be crazy. And this happens often! I also have only won the chance to go first a handful of times, but I’ve played dozens of games!

Cheats. This game rolls doubles for itself up to 5x in a row when you get ahead. Also it rolled a 6 and 4. All pieces were in 5 slot. It took 2 pieces from 5 slot. It shouldn’t have . That occurs a lot. It moves an extra spot also. I’m really paying attention now and realizes there’s a serious glitch in programming. It’s more about catching the cheats than it is about the game these days.

The rolls don’t seem random. I know from reading other comments, I’m not alone in saying the AI rolls don’t seem random. Most games, there is a very high number of doubles being given to the AI, especially towards the end. There are far too many for this to be random. I know the programmers say the algorithm is set for random but it’s clearly not working correctly. It’s becoming not fun to play and I’m looking to DL a different game from another company.

It cheats. There is no possibility that the computer gets exactly what it needs in the daily challenges, over, and over , and over. Your roll will force you to expose a piece and you can be sure it will roll what it needs to send you to the bar. Too many times to just be random.

Backgammon. Programming for bot player isn’t right, especially when the bot has all its pieces in the home area. Strategy of play is deficient. The bot is often behind on the game and yet often misses the opportunity to take the opponent’s pieces in a move that would allow the bot to catch up and maybe win. I win 90% of the time.

Dice not random. This specific game was my intro to backgammon. I enjoy the game but the dice rolls aren’t close to random. One recent game the computer had 5 out of 6 of their home spots filled, I had one checker on the bar, and I rolled double 4’s, would get out, then get out back in. This happened three times until the 5 spot cleared up, I went back onto the bar, and then rolled double 5’s. I’ve also lost countless games by only 1 move. No way it’s a coincidence.

Unfair computer play. When opponent always gets double rolls - often three times in a row, but I don’t get any… When have been bumped and when the roll starts it shows a different set of numbers but is immediately changed to show “no moves available” consistently. Several other unfair play scenarios. Cheaters!

Opponent’s excessive doubles. As much as I enjoy this game, I must make note here of the frequency of doubles the opponent “rolls”. I have played this game for YEARS. This game on this site, for YEARS. And the issue persists. I prefer this site; I’ve tried others. I keep coming back even though it is very biased with doubles.

Don’t bother. I downloaded the game because I’ve always loved backgammon. I played the daily challenge 4 times before I deleted the game. Why? Because the AI “miraculously” came from behind with an onslaught of doubles. I was up by 20+ moves in 3 of the games. In the 4th, I suddenly couldn’t roll anything that would allow me to move my last two pips. The AI hadn’t filled all the spaces, I just rolled 1 2 for 3 straight turns.

First time user. Downloaded this backgammon game to practice on new phone on a trip to visit grandchildren. Started first game on flight and finished it with my four year old grandson. I enjoyed the challenge the game gave and how it adapted to the players abilities. My grandson found it fun and keeps asking to play again.

You Sure Are Lucky. Game is fun, but the computer does not have the true killer program. It passes on obvious block-take out moves for basic advancement moves. BUT, it makes up for that with the luckiest rolls I have ever seen. Gets the perfect required roll almost every time, rolls doubles constantly while all I seem to roll is 1-2. Keeps me in tune for when I play for real.

Overall good. Overall I really like this. My one issue is that for the past several days the daily challenge each day has had the same exact starting set up. Previously it was different each day, which kept it more interesting. Please bring that feature back!

Too many doubles. I’m pretty sure the game is programmed to make sure it wins by giving itself doubles whenever you get an advantage. In nearly every game that I play the game just happens to roll doubles right when it needs to in order to stay close. I only play once in a while now because it’s so obvious what’s happening that it is not fun.

Doesn’t let you start at the beginning. When you play the Daily puzzle, this app already starts the game for you and puts my pieces in positions I would never do. And many times it starts the scoring so that I am already behind & have to spend my time catching up while trying to protect all the single chips now lying all over the place. Very frustrating!!

Can’t win if you trap the ai and rolling doubles is way too easy. Trapping the ai is useless, the dice will leave you open for capture and the ai roll will complete the capture. Played best out of eleven and it happened three consecutive games. I’ve also won several games I shouldn’t have by rolling doubles on consecutive turns. I was excited the first time it happened, but then it happened several more times. Weird gameplay

a rip off. Who are we playing in the daily challenges, bots? You have to play several dailies to win. Other side constantly gets multiple doubles in a row and no way can you win. As for the game still think playing bots. Have gone to another game playing real people on fair ground and enjoying it so much better. You don’t mind losing when playing fairly. I’d give this 0 stars but have to give it 1 to leave a rating.

I’d suggest finding a different game. Banner ads keep auto loading basically making smooth game play impossible. Also don’t use the auto play feature the game makes poor move choices which may cause you to lose the game. Was a fun version at first, but the pop ups appear mid play almost every single roll.

Game Play. I do enjoy this game but what I find frustrating is the algorithm which is heavily weighted on the player loosing. I find myself skipping over this game to select others and when I do choose to play I have already anticipated that I will win the first or second game but ultimately will end up on the opposite side of a win. Trying out other backgammon apps to see if they are better balanced.

I love this game!. My first love and I use to play this game. I am having memories overload right now and its wonderful. We always shared the best conversations when we were hopping around the board. I still have our original board and pieces, which are now about 49 years old.

Get Ready to Lose. The game is fun to play even if you’ve never played in real life before but the algorithm is strongly against you and your opponent gets the best rolls of the dice therefore you lose WAY MORE than you win. I like a challenging game but give me a chance to win more often, who wants to keep playing a losing game?

Unfair. Hi game has the most unrealistic, unfair and totally improbable rolls for the computer opponent. My player will roll small 1, 2 and 3 combos and the computer gets high doubles roll after roll. It’s a shame that they did not program the “random” rolls to be just that, otherwise it would have been a fun game. Going to delete it because it is just so lopsided.

Dice rolls are not fair. The computer has gotten back to back doubles a number of times which is highly improbable. Especially if you are winning towards the end, the computer frequently gets double sixes or double fives. I have had it Happen 3 times while bearing off. If you don’t mind losing at the very end of games, it’s entertaining. Otherwise, the odds are not in your favor.

Awful. Original: The game provides the AI exactly what it needs to win, and start every game… don’t expect to win on first try Update: I noticed many people complain about the same issues I am. I will add it also gives the AI more doubles, chances to block the pieces, and take out your pieces since you don’t get to block them. However, the response I got from developers was my strategy….ummm sorry no, many people have the same issues…

Unfair moves. I played this game for a few weeks. I’ve played backgammon for years so I was not new to the concept. I ended up deleting it in frustration because the game is skewed to the opponent. The opponent consistently gets doubles and exactly the roll they need. If it was close you could count on the opponent getting a double that would allow them to win. Highly disappointing. I never write reviews, but this one deserved it.

Needs Work. Instructions are terrible and so is the developer response. They don't tell you which board is yours. How the pieces move around the board. Nothing. I had to Google how to play!!! Rigged. It’s crazy how many times the computer will roll doubles or high numbers. The developer says it’s random but no it’s not random. I don’t know why they think they can lie to us. In five games the computer rolls a 6 double multiple times? And I don’t get any six doubles?

No challenge. Game play is not at a very high standard. Program makes many questionable moves and once you realize that game always makes the safest play and will pass up obvious opportunities to hit opponent, the advantage is yours. Also, game makes ridiculous decisions with doubling cube. If you lose an 11 point match with doubling cube used, you would have to be a horrific player. Disappointing. Daily challenges are pointless.

Bad dice randomizer. The AI gets unbelievably and consistently good rolls especially in late game when you’re both bearing off. I just played about 12 games, I was very in the lead most of the games. The AI starts getting double 5’s and 6’s every turn and I start rolling 1, and 2 like clockwork. Also if I lose a piece I’ll get a dance roll (where you can’t play to get your piece free) 3-6 times in a row. If the AI loses a piece they’ll get out immediately. It’s still totally possible to beat the AI, but those issues happen way to often to be chance

Doesn’t Cheat to Win. It cheats to keep games close. That’s what keeps you engaged and coming back. That little adrenaline rush you get when you beat it by one chip. I’ve played so many and the doubles are obviously skewed toward the end game. I think I’ve won as many as I’ve lost by getting three or four sets of doubles while bearing off.

Hard to move pieces. I have pretty small hands but the game is difficult to tap and move to the correct space. Whole process takes too long. And I turn the phone sideways a game does not follow and get bigger. So the game is too small, the spaces are too small and it’s difficult to play which slows down the game. For this reason I will probably uninstall it.

Not the fairest. This would be five star if the computer didn’t roll doubles every 4th roll but I’ve been counting and that’s exactly how the daily’s go. You will play some of them 6 times before you get a win, idk how the rolls are scripted into the game but it just doesn’t seem random to me with the amount of doubles the computer rolls. Beyond that, the game is smooth and it’s not to many ads which is nice.

Thank you. I love this game in real life so much but i don’t play a lot this game lets me play as much as I want to.i kept seeing he adds and thinking that this game is so fun but I need my moms permission to downloaded any thing and when I saw my mom had downloaded I was so happy Thank you for this game it made me so happy

Agree with “fixed” statements. Agree with another review stating the game is “fixed”. I read the content creators comments but after playing the game, I also noticed the opponent consistently rolling double 6 and double 5’s at just the right moments. I appreciate the double 1 and double 2’s but how about fair and equal rolls…may delete.

Rigged?. I deleted the game because it simply wasn’t fair. The dice are definitely biased. I began keeping count after I noticed an unnatural bias in favor of the computer player. Out of 50 games, I was awarded the first move twice. TWICE. 2 out of 50! No way. Not to mention there was a crazy lopsided number of doubles that the computer player got during regular play!

Cheats on doubling and the dice.. The bias of the dice rolls in favor of the AI is obvious, but expected because the AI often makes dumb moves. That is aggravating, but not nearly so much as the mishandling of doubling. The AI can double at will, but not so for the user. Doubling is very restricted for user, and when the AI wants to double, the user must accept or decline blindly, not being allowed to look at either the AI roll or the board. That is a VERY BAD programming goof.

No way this is fair. Been playing for a few weeks. The initial dice rolls always win in favor of the opponent - every time. Also, if I’m in the advantage, the dice roll always favors the opponent - 3 double dice in 5 rolls when I haven’t seen a double in 10+ games other than double 1’s. Frustrating and not realistic.

Zynga the only winner. Wondering why the game is free? It’s as rigged as a casino. The House will always win…over time. In the beginning, the game is Programmed for more wins than losses (for new players), then a shocking series of losses and fortunate rolls for the opposition after a streak of wins. You will not have enough coins to keep playing unless you will have to pay for them. Very sophisticated algorithm. As a lifelong player of the game however, the win/loss ratio pattern reveals itself as programmed by the game developers. Go into it with eyes open.

The computer cheats. I’ve been playing this version for about 4 weeks. There is no way the dice roll is random. Your side will get a double-roll every now and then (especially once you’ve already won the match and it doesn’t matter). The computer will give itself 2-3 times as may double rolls, and frequently back to back. At first I thought it was just bad luck, but it keeps happening game, after game, after game. It’s frustrating and takes away the fun.

Adds. I thought when I subscribed to this game that there would be no advertisements, there are the shame, shame, crummy adverts that repeat themselves over and over and over and over and over. What's the solution to getting rid of those

Good backgammon app except…. The dice always favors the opponent. I know the app designers say it’s random, but that just can’t be. I can successfully guess what the opponent’s dice will show based on where my most vulnerable pieces are on the board. If it is random and I’m just that good at guessing dice, then I should run to the casino and bet my savings. I wonder, if I purchase the add free version, will the dice favor me?

This game is rigged. The moment the last 3-4 opponent pips are in it’s third square, it rolls a double or at the very least a very high value roll in it’s favor. It’s about 75%. For the first, say, 60 games the % was lower but suddenly, it doesn’t matter where I leave a pip exposed, it gets a perfect roll to hit that pip. 90% of the time. 72% of the time, it gets the starting die roll. I’m up for a challenge but not when the randomness to the dice isn’t random.

Truly the Best Backgammon Online. I’ve played so many different versions online that seem “fixed”. I’m a fairly good player but it was impossible to win. Every blot got hit and opponent would get doubles when bearing off to win. Thank you for fair game. Just haven’t figured out how to double on this app.

Okay. Rigged, not random.. The game is okay to play, but no way dice are random. I’ve been writing down each time during games that black dice gets 4 dice, and when I do; it’s at least 5 times more often in each game that the black dice get the bonus dice, sometimes more. Even 3 times in a row at times. Definitely rigged - happened even more when I paid to remove ads. 🤔😮🙄
