Is this a scam?. I downloaded this app based on ASA’s recommendation. Immediately there was a pop up ad so when I thought I was logging into the app I was logging into some random entertainment site. That was a major red flag to me. I should have checked the reviews but wrongly assumed that an app recommended by ASA would be decent. After now checking the reviews I see that all the good teviews are from many years ago. The recent ones give it very poor reviews. I don’t know what is going on but I am going to delete this app and be more cautious about what ASA is recommending in the future.

Clever, useful.. Amazing!. This app is just fantastic.. I love it! Going out on the ocean in a sunny day is just the most beautiful, relaxing and fun plan I could think of, but it was always difficult to connect to people who were looking for crew or expensive to do. With Kroocial is so easy to apply to crew openings, and meet other people passionate about sailing. Now, I could go sailing every weekend if want to .. Even with my budget, unbelievable! Thanks Kroocial team.. You rock!

Beware! Pay gateway hacked. Pay gateway is used to establish over 18. It’s hacked! Credit cards will be denied then fraudulent charges appear.

Can’t Edit Profile. Without being able to enter and SAVE profile info, how is someone to accept you aboard?? I’ve tried, ad nauseam (and angry frustration); no help. No response or acknowledgement of question to support, thus far.

Build a Sailing Network, Get on the Water. If you want to go sailing but lack a ride or are looking to share charters and other sailing experiences and meet people with diverse sailing and life experiences, you need to get connected with Kroocial, the "Linked In" for sailors and those that want to be.

Great for beginners!. Moving to Sausalito had my husband and I drooling at the water and anxious to get out there and experience the Bay first hand, and without Kroocial, I don't know how we would have done it so easily. My husband wants to race, but I'm just happy to be on the water and help where I can, and Kroocial easily accommodated both of our wishes. We had the best time sailing around Angel Island with good food and great people. Thanks to Kroocial, I can't wait to learn more!

Great Way to Connect Sailing Crews and Skippers. This is an intuitive, powerful app for connecting skippers looking for crews and vice versa. Postings can be mad to the general public or limited to club affiliations. Maintains a record of trips taken and your sailing contacts. Lets you see how many crew spaces are available and when they're filled, and boat and skipper information. I've started using it as both skipper and crew and find it much more useful than electronic bulletin-board type services.

Bogus. The vast majority of users are charter companies looking for customers

Great way to Connect with other sailors and crew. Finally an App that allows you to connect with sailors and crew that are looking for more opportunities to go out sailing. Not only you can find additional crew or a a boat to crew on, but you can also manage all the logistics of the trip/outing.

Great Ap for Sailors. I had a great sail on Saturday with a fun group of folks that I never would have met without this ap. It's so easy to connect with others looking to sail or offering a ride with Kroocial. Fantastic idea!

Easy access to a day of sailing. The Kroocial app is a great addition to the sharing economy. Notifications are sent periodically. It is easy to review trip details and click on Join to submit an application for a day of sailing, making new friends and sharing an adventure on the water.

Excellent App to Sail Socially. Using this app is the best way for sailors to connect with other sailors. Extremely easy to use, provides the right information to make a reliable decision on crew, and expands your sailing network.

Great Way To Go Sailing. So excited to see this app is now available in Marina del Rey as well as San Francisco - I hope it expands quickly to other locations so that even more people can enjoy this great app! See you on the water!!

Obnoxious Ads - Limited Users - Worthless. Downloaded based on ASA advertisement with high hopes of finding sailing buddies. Overwhelmed with in app advertising with extremely high obnoxious volumes. Extremely limited subscribers -- all of 12 listings for all of west coast. Most listings are for private people offering sailing or lessons for a fee. Uninstalled after fully exploring app in 20 minutes!

Not worth downloading. Has really obnoxious ads that randomly take over the screen. Have to pay to turn them off. Ransomware!!

Too many flaws to list here - junk software. They ask your marital status. I selected divorced. The first ads to pop up were “young, beautiful Ukrainian women” and other, similarly offensive ones. And zero response to emails asking for support. No easy way to delete an account. Bare-bones help section.

Love it. Easy to use and truly Free (ASA sponsored). Introduced it to our club spring of 2019 and the skippers using it are no longer short on crew. This means more boats on the starting line in our club racing!

Discouraging. Logged in using Facebook and I ended up with profile information of an individual (I’d never heard of) that I couldn’t update. Every time I’d try to update something the app kept giving me error messages. I think it’ll be a long time before I give this another shot. Deleted the app and disconnected it from my FB account.

Indispensable for Any Sailor!. Sailors of any skill level or frequency of charters will find this the killer app for developing crew lists, and building social networks around sailing. Boat owner? Find crew and build a solid roster of dependable shipmates. Part-time or novice sailor? Use to Kroocial to find excellent sailing opportunities tailored to how you like to sail: race, technical, leisure, whatever your preference. I started using this app early having found them at Strictly Sail 2013. Loads of updates and the developers are clearly honing the experience, so always grab any updates-they'll be good ones!

Perfect tool to find a ride and make new friends. Thanks to the app we found a wonderful sailing trip on the bay and made new friends, that otherwise we would have never met. Kroocial is the perfect companion for every sailor or everyone who is interested in sailing on the bay.

Building momentum!. The one thing I though was missing from this app was to be able to designate ones crew request to a specific sailing club membership base. They added it! This is really coming together and getting an active base of skippers looking for crew as well as crew looking to sail. See you on the water.

Super cool experience!. A friend of mine suggested me to try kroocial 2 weeks ago. After downloading the app I immediately applied for a sail trip, and everything worked pretty well. I met cool people and we've spent an amazing day together. Highly reccomended!

A must try app!. Go Sailing has allowed my dream of learning to sailing, COME TRUE! I've always wanted to go sailing but hadn't ever taken classes or knew anyone to go with. This app allowed me to accomplish both + everyone was SO NICE!

Load the app...rig the sails!. Interface is easy to use. Profile is a snap to set up. Great people in the SF Bay just a click away! I have all my spare time set to sail! If you think Latitude38 is a good resource, wait until you try Kroocial!

Great way to meet people. Best way to find like minded sailors. I really liked the private sailing feature. Takes the hassle out of planning a trip. Nice handy app for a passionate sailor :-)

Great App. I saw the App on Facebook. I downloaded, opened, and easily signed up. Two days later I was sailing!!!! Wholeheartedly endorse this App!!

Get onboard!. Meet new friends and go sailing even if you don't have a sailboat! Go sailing on your sailboat with new friends you met through this app!! I really cannot think of a downside. Tell everyone who enjoys spending time on the water about the Go Sailing app.

Just back from a great day Sailing. Just got back from a great day sailing on the water with people I never sailed before. It took me less than a minute of time to join the trip and get organized of when to meet and where for a full day of great sailing on the SF bay. Probably one of the most efficient minutes I ever spent, thanks to this app. Highly recommended.

Fantastic App. Finding sailing opportunities has been really hard if you live inland as I do. Now instead of trying to call a random sailing club to hire a crew, I can be the crew. Finding a sailing trip will be so easy from now on. What a great App.

Newbie. Great app that's super easy to use. It's is well designed for it's purpose, and yet very efficient in terms of trip organization, contact information, and group set up. Highly recommended for both leisure and professional sails, a fantastic way to start your sailing experience without overly charged fees.

Great concept!. This is a great idea. It's always a bit hard to find a ride or that extra crew to fill a boat for a good day of sailing, this helps a ton. I've used it a few times both to host sails, or get a ride, and it's a great way to meet new sailors in the area. Look forward to using it when traveling to sail with people in other cities.

ASA's 'Go Sailing' App. For experienced and would-be sailors, this app is great! Have a boat, but need one or more crew members to go sailing? This is your app. Want to go sailing, but don't have a boat, this is your app, too. It's sort of an 'Uber' for sailors, putting boats and crew members together for the benefit of all. The sailors know the boat and the owner, and the owner knows who the sailors are and their experience level. It's about time for this app!

Can’t register. Not able to register for a new account, tried all of the 3 methods, tried in app and online. Error message says column 1 ‘birthday’ missing but there is not even a birthday field to enter in the registration form! Clearly a bug and needs to be addressed by the developer.

Amazing!!!. I love the layout!! Everything is very intuitive and I was able to organize my trip with just a couple of clicks!! I highly recommend this app!

Save yourself the aggravation: PASS on this one!. I thought this would be a useful fun app; what a waste of time! I have a long repetitive list of sailing happening from Texas to San Fran... I live in Annapolis! My sailing club is not available to select; it’s only been in existence since 1940, so perhaps in the next update...! Invited to edit my profile, nothing saves! All very frustrating!! Great idea - perhaps turn this over to the pro’s to develop...

Nice idea, terrible implementation. Can’t get off of ground zero with this app, as it loses my profile information, every time I attempt to enter it. There is no Save button - only a Done button which doesn’t work.

Reinforcing sexism. I’m a married woman in my 40’s and I don’t need ads about hot single women every two seconds. I get that sailing is male-dominated, but give me a break

Confusing, buggy. This app might be rated merely “poorly designed,” but it is hard to see the design outlines owing to the bugs. For example, after entering my personal info and bio, I start exploring the app, add a trip. When I recheck my personal info view, I find that everything but my name has been lost. I try it again, it seems fine (personal info is retained after switching focus), but after 10 minutes same error—personal info has now vanished. Meanwhile, after specifying my trip I’d expect it to appear in the home page’s list of trips. It doesn’t, leading me to wonder if it is showing up anywhere.

Much Needed. So happy to see an app like this on the sailing scene - I hope it takes root nationwide. I travel and would love love love to be able to get on a boat wherever I'm at. Haven't used it much yet but I'm also looking forward to taking some folks out on my boat. Any avid sailor knows finding crew can be an issue. App seems to work as advertised, so let's hope people buy in.

Quick & Easy App for sailing on the bay. I had a wonderful time on a recent leisure sail, from Marina Bay to Angel Island raft up & back. It was a great opportunity to connect with other sailors and share their experiences. I definitely recommend the positive therapy it brings you.

New user registration does not work. Now user sign in does not work at all, application drops SQL error wrong data format.

Sailor. Kroocial is my goto app to find sailing crew. It is also awesome to be able to crew for other skippers looking for crew. I have met some really nice people with various levels of sailing experience. After all sailing should be more social and thanks to Kroocial it is.

It’s limited. Only letting you search near your gps location is useless to me. I’d pay to remove the adds if I could search any zip code.
