Wise - Global Money Comments & Reviews 2026

Efficiency of TransferWise. I’ve availed TransferWise service for several years now and had great results. Although recently I had an unusually untimely transfer (4 days). In addition I was a bit confused by the overly long estimated time conveyed by TransferWise on a subsequent transfer (6 days) but after submitting the transfer and to my surprise I received the funds in less than two hours, which is about the speed in which I normally receive the funds. I want to clarify my previously poor feedback toward TransferWise. The service I have received is for the most part Great! My only complaint is the recent estimate for the completed transfer. I understand your companies position that it would be better to over estimate the transfer timeframe and deliver the funds earlier than proposed, and I’m trying to wrap my head around that logic because that works great for most people I’m sure. But... in my situation an estimate of 6 days for a Debit/ACH transfer leaves me wanting to initiate my transfer 5 days early, but If the transfer completes in only a few hours it then creates another issue with my billing cycle at my bank and fees. Overall I rate your service as highly recommended. I will just have to cross my fingers and hope the funds arrive as they have in the past. Thank you, Lon

Good app but Not As Intuitive for US Customers. Currently I am using this account for personal finances, not business. First of all, let me say that I, as a US customer, love having the ability to have an account where I can convert USD to GBP & Euros. AND to now have a debit card for traveling is fantastic. My husband & I are planning to move to the UK part time in retirement and using Wise will provide me the ability to manage our finances wherever we are. Maybe it’s just me, but I think that because this app is designed by UK banking, the app is not as intuitive as my regular US banking app. For some reason, it’s difficult to navigate and find the transaction that i want to make even if I’ve done it before. I find myself going to the help section a lot. In addition, there is no way to create a joint account- I am able to add my husband as a “helper” but he doesn’t have full joint privileges. He will have full inheritance rites and the ability to use the account, however, I’m not certain what his limits in using the account are. I had to contact Wise Banking through the help number and they e-mail the form & directions because actual signatures are required - which is fine as these are regulatory safety steps. I do highly recommend Wise and Wise was recommended to me my dear friend in the UK. I’m sure I will learn how to negotiate the app better with time.

STAY FAR AWAY.. where do I even begin with this app? I used them for almost 3 years with no issues until recently. Somehow my information got leaked and so I asked to close my account. I was in the middle of a transfer so obviously that didn’t go through so what would you expect next? To get your money refunded back to you, however it has now been almost a week and I have not received my money. I chatted with their “customer service” multiple times, sent many different forms of Identification to prove it was me as well as the statements from my bank showing that they sent the transfer to Wise and yet it’s not enough for them? They also take forever to respond if you send them an email. Their phone service hours are impossible if you live in a different country so you can’t call them. I ask for them to call me and they can’t even give me a specific time on when they will. Absolutely horrendous customer service. I threatened to bring my lawyer into this because it’s a huge sum of money. Once I get it back I’m NEVER using this app again and I have told all my friends abroad who were using it to quit ASAP.

App works well, needs a couple features. I have very few complaints with TransferWise and this app. It generally works as advertised and I have used it for a number of months now with few problems. One glitch is TransferWise’s interface with banks (U.S., at least), which sometimes does not recognize your account has been verified and asks to reverify it by confirming a couple of micro-deposits - a process which can take several days. However, if you cancel the transfer which prompted the request to reverify, then try it again, this has always resulted in a successful transfer on the second attempt for me. Both the app and desktop version of TransferWise also have trouble sometimes dealing with verification questions used by many banks. One additional feature which would be useful for the app (essential, in my opinion, for a 5-star rating) is the ability to download a pdf receipt for a transfer, showing all relevant account information and date/time of the transfer events, as you can from the desktop web site. Despite the above issues, I’m satisfied with my experience and TransferWise is an excellent alternative to international bank wires, especially for smaller amounts.

Quick and easy. I’ve used the app 6 times over the last 5 months the send money from the US to Thailand. 5 of the 6 times the money was sent within hours of them notifying me they had transferred the money to my account. On the 6th time there was a delay of about 24 hours which is still quite fast. I would like to add that the notification/receipt they send is based on their bank setting up the transfer. However, that bank my still take some time to actually transfer the money. In my case the first 5 transfers happened within an hour or so of the notifications being sent. The delay on the 6th transfer had me initially concerned. I contacted my bank and the transferring bank and both said the transfer could take up to 7 days based on the banks policies. If you don’t see the money right away after you get the notification/receipt it might take a day or two for the transfer to complete. Best regards.

The Gold Standard of Currency Exchange. Honestly, there is no better company and service than Wise (formerly Transferwise, for those original old school users) Companies like Western Union and your local exchange cannot compare to their exchange rates, quick service, and convenience from your phone. Even your major international bank cannot compete and in fact, give you a worse exchange rate to make money off of your transfers or purchases. And don't get me started on the ATM experience with their card. Absolutely amazing as it automatically chooses the best rate among ALL the currencies in your account and withdraws money from there or a combination of currencies if one currency account doesn't have enough. Bravo and finally, a company and service that is legitimately SUPERB. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don’t use for international non SEPA. In general Wise is great for Wise to Wise transfers and for using a debit card all over the world. However they are terrible when it comes to inter bank transfers especially when it’s non SEPA - ie international. We recently moved our business account to Wise and have had nothing but problems. The app gives a supposed track of your money - when it leaves the Wise account and when it arrives at the recipient bank. However the latter is not true. This is when it arrives at Wise’s partner bank who then make a decision whether there is a security flag or not. They takes days to even ask questions in the case of a flag and even when they have all the information they need, they still block the money for days and also block future transfers with the same criteria. My issue is not that security checks take place as these are a very necessary evil but the fact that the Wise app is very misleading as it implicitly says the funds are with the receiver when they are not. My second issue is the length of time it takes to even ask questions for security flags causing long and unnecessary delays.

Disappointing. I used wise for over a year, worked good for me. Until two weeks ago when I received a payment with the concept “Payment Venezuela” and they just shutted down my account and retained all my money because no transaction can be made related to Venezuela. And it’s ok that policy, I get it. But didn’t even ask me for an explanation… I am not doing business related to that country, I work as a freelancer currently living in Italy and the transfer was made from a guy in Spain that has a Instagram page about that country. So I don’t know how am I breaking the rules. But as I said, no explanation was asked. So my account was closed and didn’t even receive an email or a call… nothing. None contacted me to inform me that my balance was closed. I had to call and received the notice that was closed and that I can’t appeal to reopen the balance. At that point I just wanted my money back. But, when I tried to fulfill the file to request my money, it wouldn’t let me. So I sent my info via email two weeks ago and the costumer service lady said that the info (my bank account details) would be forwarded to the proper team and up to date nothing has happened. I’ve sent several emails and no answer has been made. I need my money back and it’s impossible…

Invaluable Tool for Anyone Moving Money Internationally. I waited for nearly 6 months before writing this review to be sure I was 100% satisfied with Transferwise. I move money from London to Mexico, and from London to USA on a monthly basis. I’m a remote worker who lives between Mexico and the US but work for a London-based company and therefore am paid from London. I use Transferwise (and the London-based account that I’ve setup via Transferwise) to accept my direct deposit and then move my money to my accounts in Mexico or the US, depending on where I am at any given time. This app works rather flawlessly and it has insanely fast times - faster than a normal bank-to-bank transfer at a very, VERY reasonable cost. This app allows me to send money to any of my accounts to ensure I have money to spend, money in savings, and money in other accounts which I use for bill-pay. This is an excellent tool that I cannot recommend enough. I’ve had no problems whatsoever and when I called customer service once to inquire about certain types of transfers, they were extremely transparent and down-to-earth. If you need to transfer money between countries - whether to yourself or others, this is a must-have app. Thanks again, your service is cost-effective and highly valuable to me. A great tool that I cannot say enough about.

Unpredictable and unreliable. I have used Wise for the past 18 months, and its utility has dropped in the past six months or so. Previously, a transfer from the United States to Thailand would be accomplished within hours, and sometimes within minutes. But now, even the most minor transfer takes days. That is so despite the fact that at each step of the transfer process, the Wise app tells me my money should arrive “in seconds.“ But when all the inputs have been made and you actually hit submit, suddenly you are advised that your money will not arrive for two or three days. It’s like a bait and switch. Moreover, for many of us living in other countries, it is important that the money be received as a “foreign funds transfer“ for immigration or visa purposes. But using wise you never know whether the money will be received as a foreign funds transfer or a domestic intra-bank transfer. For both of these reasons, I have tended to use a normal wire transfer from my American bank to send money to Thailand because I just cannot rely on Wise anymore.

Good, should/could be better. I’m a USA-based customer of Wise, have been now for 3 or 4 years, something like that. I have a physical Wise green debit card, and I use it almost exclusively outside the USA, thus far in UK and Australia. I love the Borderless account, I have “buckets” of GBP, AUD, NZD and EUR (in addition to my “home” “bucket” of USD (which is the “bucket” I add funds into from my other USA USD accounts)). Anyway, I’ll rank Wise in general as 7 out of 10, I want to love it 10/10, but it isn’t quite there, I feel I need to carry a “grown up credit card” with me when I travel in case Wise lets me down. In the UK nor in Australia has “chip and PIN” worked. Ever. The transaction goes through, so that’s fine, but it has never asked for a PIN. At best it says “check signature”, but the place of business almost never do, or get so confused with that action that the entire thing gets complicated and embarrassing. I’d like the security of it asking for PIN. Using the “tap” feature worked OK, but seemed hit and miss. But now consistently fails. Apparently I’ve hit a limit. But the app’s “check limits” feature doesn’t work (“oops, something went wrong”), so I’m left a bit disadvantaged here in Australia where the culture is to tap. And in a couple of places the card was denied (“oh, that sometimes happens, especially with overseas cards” — but the entire point is to have a card that seems local, right?). Anyway, seems good, but could/should be better.

UNACCEPTABLE !!!. When you call their phone number, you get a rep in a foreign country that has very limited ability to do anything !! Basically, they’re just incompetent script readers. They’re technology doesn’t work !! I can’t even get simple “push notifications” on my phone and their own reps confirmed my notifications are set up correctly. And I have a BRAND NEW IPHONE 13 !! So it’s not like I have outdated technology or something ?? Called 3 times over a week and 1/2 requesting their I.T. department reach out to me for help and nothing !! No follow up, no email, and no phone call !! One of their reps didn’t even know that “push notifications” was an option ?!?! Seriously Wise ??? If I can’t get something as SIMPLE as a push notification to work, do you REALLY think I’m going to trust you to hold my money ?? Receive my paycheck ?? Or allow you to transfer money to my bank account overseas ??? DEAR WISE, YOU’RE A JOKE AND A SCAM !!! And no, I’m not going to reach out for help on the app or social media…. I tried that 3 times and YOU FAILED !!! I’m closing my account and making sure that NOBODY opens an account with you !!! 😡😡 You should NOT be in business !!! You need to be shut down !!!

Money transfer internationally. Moving money around usually brings with it a list of difficulties that you couldn’t appreciate until you were neck deep into the transaction. It seems that the easier they are the more expensive they get. Wise has made a real effort to cut away a lot of difficulty and the cost of transferring money to another country. They are very upfront and transparent about their fee’s and offer a selection of options to complete your transaction. Believe me, I looked into quite a few different companies and although Wise wasn’t the least expensive they were pretty close. There were a few things that made them worth the price, which turned out to be less than I expected. You probably want to ask me what the one thing was that led me to write this positive review? It was when the recipient told me that they received the money almost three days before the approximate delivery date. I was completely satisfied with my experience with Wise and I think you will be too.

Slow transfer, but was ultimately resolved. In the last few years I had no problems at all transferring many larger amounts than this. Two transfers from the US in earlier April went smoothly in about two days — to 2 separate accounts in Turkey. But then the 3rd transfer took forever and is still in limbo today. The app said on April 19 the money would be transferred (no time mentioned). But the Safari web page on my iPhone said 2 pm local time and then later it said 5 pm that it would be done. The link to my recipient says yet another time — early this morning! I discovered who the culprit was. It was the Turkish bank. They didn’t like one of the words used in my note about the transaction — yet they never contacted the recipient of the money about why they were putting a freeze on the funds. As a result we had to spend another 5 days in the hotel. Trying to close on a property purchase was impossible until we went to one of their branches and explained the transaction. Then they unlocked the funds.

Buggy app, dark patterns designed to rip you off. I've been a Wise customer since their early days, but my experience has recently soured due to recurring issues with their buggy app. These problems have resulted in unnecessary charges without any recourse or refund. The latest incident exemplifies their poor service: While converting USD to GBP, I encountered an error message during the final confirmation step. Upon tapping back, the app inexplicably switched to a USD to EUR conversion. In my haste, I didn't notice this change and proceeded with the transaction, unintentionally converting to euros instead of pounds. Despite providing screenshots and contacting support—who confirmed the abnormal sequence of events—Wise refused to take responsibility. They merely stated it's the customer's duty to verify details before confirming, disregarding the app's erratic behavior that led to this mistake. This error cost me double the conversion fees within minutes. Wise's response demonstrates a lack of accountability and customer-centric problem-solving. Their unwillingness to acknowledge the app's shortcomings or offer any assistance is particularly disappointing. Given this experience and Wise's inadequate customer service, I'm now actively seeking alternative currency conversion services. Whether intentional or not, such practices and the company's subsequent handling of issues have eroded my trust in their platform.

Excellent if you have bank accounts in different currencies. I’ll speak solely with what I have used Wise for. In my case, I found this app looking for an efficient method to transfer money between my USD and EUR accounts. I live in Spain, but I used to live in the US. I constantly need to transfer USD to EUR for my everyday expenditures here in Spain, but I also need to transfer EUR to USD because of stuff that I still pay with my US credit cards. Wise has been my solution for that. And how magnificent has it been. The interface is great and easy to understand. The pairing with my Bank Accounts was fast and easy. It remembers the previous transactions that I’ve made in case I want to repeat the same amounts, I can do it with just 2 taps. And it ALWAYS gives me the best rates. I often check the current official price of USD to EUR (or viceversa), and Wise’s exchange rate is always extremely close to it. Which is great. It means you save more money. I’ve also had to contact Customer Support once in the 6 months I’ve used Wise, and my experience was great. I really have no complaints in regards to the customer service experience. I called with a problem, and they gave me a solution on the spot in just 15 minutes. Good stuff! I’m very much looking forward to recommend and keep using Wise for currency exchange between my accounts in the foreseeable future! If what you were looking for is a service that allows you to do exactly this, then look no further 👍🏼

Not Suitable for Business Use. I started using this app more than 5 years ago when I moved from the US to Europe. Initially it was great, but sadly the customer support and user experience have significantly degraded in 2023 and 2024. I use the app for my law practice and for international payments — I work with a handful of international clients, live in Spain and am paid in US dollars — and even though I have a stable client base and mostly regular transfers Wise has started to freeze my account without warning and blocking or cancelling transfers without explanation. When I am able to speak to a Wise rep they have no explanation or information. They offer no apology. The last rep hung up on me when I complained about this problem. Even though the exchange rates are great and transfers (when permitted) are low cost, this app is no longer predictable enough or well-supported enough to be used for business purposes. For small personal transfers, or as a first money app for children, it should still be fine.

Good fx rates but poor functionality. For a card that advertises good fx rates, the app is very disappointing: aside from being slow to top up, it also defaults the payment currency to be the same as the currency that one wants to top up, so that if I am topping up my EUR balance, the payment currency is also EUR. A better way to go would be to (a) default to the currency of the country where the card was issued, (b) allow users to set their default currency, or (c) have no default currency, so that the user is always prompted to select the payment currency. The current design is such that, if one does not change the default, one ends up paying a commission to TW for a EUR to EUR top up and a commission to one’s own bank, if their bank account’s currency is not EUR. Very annoying. I reported this as a bug and got nowhere with TW’s customer service.

Proceed with caution. Be careful. I tried transferring funds internationally with the ach bank wire transfer option. I was repeatedly denied as it said my bank account wouldn’t allow this transfer, though I had transferred before. So, I decided to use the debit card option and the transfer went through immediately after verification with my bank. So, problem solved right? Wrong! Just got a notification today that my bank account is over drawn over $400. Hmm.. well apparently the transfer went through even though it repeatedly told me it was impossible, which is why I used the debit card option! So now there is a double transfer and I have r to wait weeks before getting my money back from over seas. I’m just lucky I trust the other person who is receiving the money, but it’s still going to take time to get my money back.. Oh but whats even better is that transferwise notified me telling me I need to cover the overdrawn balance soon because if they bank recalls the Payment from transferwise then I’m on the hook for the money from transferwise..?. Oh but at least they gave me a free transfer up to £500 on my next transfer... yeah right!! Transferwise Just really screwed up a lot of stuff with their app and really sent a lot of things I had going on now out of place and now I’m going backwards with other things because I have to cover this over drawn amount. why don’t they get their app right??? Be careful with trusting them..

Scam. This company took $10k USD from my account and then closed my account without any explanation and customer service does not answer anything on deactivated accounts according to their joke of a customer service line. Don’t get fooled. This is just a scam company. So now they reply to this review by saying that they will refund my money once they do their ´due diligence’. Why did they not do this due diligence before they took my money. The fact is they did do their due diligence and stole the money. Then you go to their website and it says that they can take up to 90 days to refund the money. So basically, instead of wiring my own money from my account to my other account, they get to keep my cash for three months and I am lucky if I get it back. This is what they have done to all their customers. It is a systematic way. This is the system. This company is the biggest fraud I have personally encountered and hope that people read this review and never use them. I also wish Apple would take this seriously and investigate this fraudulent company.

Incompetent customer service. They do not provide the basic level of customer service one would expect of a financial institution. They do things like repeatedly request the same KYC over and over. You provide it, they accept it and soon thereafter they request it again. This is for the principals, for the same monthly payments, etc. It has potential but they need to fix their basic service levels. To be clear this isn’t an unwillingness or inability to provide proper documentation. It is having to provide the exact same documentation over and over and to be treated poorly each time by the their team. Until they fix these basic steps, it’s not viable as a business account. You are never confident you can receive or make payments in a reasonably timely fashion. Update: wise has opted to responded with a standard response around KYC requirements, which highlights my point of their customer service. There is no issue with requiring KYC (it’s a good thing), the issue is repeatedly requesting the same documentation over short periods of time.

Wise is one of the worst companies for accessing one’s acct information. The only way you will be able to access some of your acct information is by talking to a Wise customer representative. One example: you cannot tell whether your acct is set up for monthly payments from your app site. You must contact customer service. I spoke for more than 1.5 hours with 4 reps trying to resolve this basic acct issue. You cannot assume your payment has been made without verifying the transactions every month. Because I failed to do so one month, I have had to tie up 25k for an additional nine months. Just try to figure out how to change the date you want to do a monthly transaction! Generally speaking, Wise customer reps are poorly trained. One example of that is they are not trained to SHUT UP and LISTEN when you need to interrupt their explanations. It’s not uncommon for them to continue their explanation after you’ve interrupted. It’s like they are answering from their troubleshooting manual and can’t stop until they’ve finished the manuals explanation.

So far so good!. I downloaded the app a few months ago and I gave up trying to use it or understand it the same day. I didn’t like the ID pic, the SSN, and selfie pic, and trusting what it was all being used for, with scams in 2024. It seemed confusing to me. I recently ended up in a situation where I needed to transfer money and WU, MG, and PP were not working for me. I came back to Wise to figure it out. It was actually a lot more simple that I first thought, but I’m still getting familiar with the app and all that it does. Still working on trusting it, with sending small amounts at first to see what happens. It’s much better than I first thought. Hopefully Wise is my longterm solution for getting money from my homeland to the countries I’m visiting. I sent $3,000 and Wise told me it would take a few hours. It then changed to 2 days, and then changed to 6 days. Misleading informed in my opinion. I would have paid a higher fee for a faster option if I knew that it was going to take 6 days.

App quality and results have declined significantly!. I’ve used this app many times over the few years to internationally send money to family- it has always been great until recently. The “mandatory form” required to sign yearly and to every new recipient is from a 3rd party “Exchange4Free,” which takes forever to actually email the form and this results in complications with the transfer, which of late, has resulted in having to cancel transfers. I don’t think these “Wise” and “Exchange4Free” are in proper communication, which makes me think that wise (to maintain its credibility) has no idea how long the forms really take to reach recipients. When contacting wise, their customer service has always been awfully bad- no real interest in assisting clients and no real help whatsoever, leaving you with no option but to cancel transactions. I really enjoyed using this app in the past and hope that major improvements are made as I am very tempted to find a different company for my international transfers. It is supposed to be a “quick and easy” way to send money but has taken weeks, which makes one consider using your actual bank- even their steep fees would be worth the hassle.

Good service, horrible app!. I spent hours over the weekend trying to add a new recipient. However the app would never accept the person’s street address. After trying 8 or 9 versions of the address, I finally closed the app and reopened and started all over (a very time consuming process). I finally was about to set up my new recipient. The next roadblock came when I tried to send money to that recipient. I already had a bank account linked to another recipient, but apparently you have to set up your own bank all over again with each new recipient. I did this. The transfer appeared to be underway, but was flagged. An email said that it “needed attention.” When I tried to go to that transfer, I got stuck in an endless merry-go-round in which it would say you must go to TransferWise online to solve the problem. When I did, it just sent me back where I started. After repeating this 5 or 6 times, I tried closing the app and reopening it to no avail: the merry-go-round continued. And of course THERE IS NO PHONE SUPPORT ON WEEKENDS, so you are completely out of luck. I still don’t know the status of my last attempted transfer. I don’t even know if the money was debited from my account or not! In the future I will be taking my money transfer business elsewhere. I would NOT recommend TransferWise to anyone. There are plenty of other services to choose from.

Zero transparency, useless money transfer service. If you need to send money abroad, especially to someone in Ukraine who is a war refugee and desperately needs funds to cover basic needs, do not bother to do business with this company. You input all the info, they initiate the transfer, then they decide to verify you without giving any specific reason why, instruct you to look for that info + how to fix it in an email that never arrives, give you unreliable estimates for how long it may take to verify you and then, after a few days of keeping you waiting, they simply cancel the transfer. No reason given whatsoever. Meanwhile your money has been taken out of your account and it will take several business days for it to be returned. Oh, and don’t bother calling because you will grow old waiting on the line. You may be luckier via chat but the representatives will be absolutely useless and will only give you standard answers that they probably copy and paste from some communication manual they’re given. Absolute garbage.

Wise is in closed loop and repeating transfers. Wise worked fine until a transfer was mistakenly link to an incorrect bank account. I immediately wired funds to Wise. A day later the transfer was "fixed" and I received email from Wise the transfer was fixed. I removed the link to incorrect bank account from Wise. Then a day later I received notice from my bank that Wise again attempted to debit bank account. Wise then deposited US funds to my Wise account saying since I didn't initiate transfer to my foreign euro account, they deposited funds to my Wise account. Then I received notice the transfer (the one I didn't initiate) needs to be fixed by funding the transfer. Wise put the funds into my Wise account. Customer support is missing in action. Phone line waiting is too long. Emails are answered with automated responses telling me to "fix" transfer. And around and around we go... Meanwhile I can't use Wise because the transfer I didn't initiate needs to be "fixed."

Beware long lead time for large amounts. Mostly good, but I tried a larger amount and the process is very lengthy and confusing. It shows on the App my transfer is completed when in reality is completed to the Wise’s local partner, and not to the final destination. This is a complete inaccurate status reporting, why would I care if its completed to their local partner? Its only completed when is on my destination account. The local partner has many verification items which they ask one by one, instead of altogether. Adding that they have 3 BUSINESS DAYS (absurd lead time) to answer, then you’re looking at a 1-2 weeks of exchanging emails in a very confusing process. Wise’s call support personnel are far from knowledgeable of how this process works, and keep stating the transfer is completed from Wise’s side. No, it isnt. Protip: for large amounts by now I would have gotten my money transferred by going via normal bank international wire, so I dont plan to use this App again for large amounts, which might be mu exit criteria overall.

The fastest and most efficient international wire transfer. I cannot tell you just how amazing Wise is. I will rave about this company until my literal last breath. I needed to transfer rent money ASAP (within 24 hours) to my new international landlord and every other site was saying 48 hours at the minimum. If I could not get the rent money in 24 hours, I would lose the place. Wise was quite literally the only place to offer this transfer not only within the given timespan, but the transfer would only take 8 hours to complete internationally with minimal fees (9 dollars! For a transfer that was a couple grand!). Because of Wise I have a place to live and for that they have a forever customer with me. There’s literally no hidden fees, everything is upfront. There’s several methods of payment for ease of access. If you are on the fence between Wise and literally any other company, USE WISE.

Amazing. Half of my family lives in Switzerland so as banking services leapt ahead with technology, it was frustrating to see international money transfers stay in the 1990s during the Age of Venmo. $35 wire transfer fees? No thanks. Visiting a branch? Yeah, how about no. Paying crazy fees for currency conversion when sending money? Outrageous. Downloaded Wise and holy cow, my wishes were granted. It’s easy! It saves your info. The transfers are fast. It notifies you all along the process. The fees are a fraction of my old wire transfer days… usually under $10. It was actually so easy that I legit thought I was doing something wrong and sent a small amount as a test and was surprised it actually showed up. Since then, I’ve transferred to various accounts for my family overseas in small amounts and larger amounts and it’s never been anything besides great.

About customer service. Costumer service is bad. When you run into trouble, don't expect costumer service to help you with your problem. It has been almost a month since I got into a loop with them - they blocked my money transfers, and ask me to confirm the old address, which cannot be changed in the application settings and where I dont live for a long time. Numerous calls to the costumer service don’t work. They apparently didn’t open the documents, confirming the current address, because the next day after I sent them my utility bills I received an answer : this document is not on our list, send is the utility bill. this is nonsense! And after I called them a couple of times and explained that my current address has been changed, and in the app it cant be changed in the settings, they asked me to send a bank statement with a new address, and after i did that - they responded me that cant confirm my current address, because it doesn’t match with the address in my account, which os old one. Of course it cant! Besides that, the answers come in different languages - sometimes in Ukrainian, sometimes in Russian. It is also impossible to delete the account, since you must first confirm the address. Absurd!

Exceptionally effective way to manage funds internationally. I did quite a bit of research into money transfer apps and platforms and TransferWise seemed to meet all my needs. I opened a Borderless account and have now used it to make several transactions—moving funds between various onshore accounts and converting between currencies. Unless I’m missing something, the platform, the process and the app all work flawlessly. With just a few clicks my money is moved into my Borderless account in one country, converted from one currency to another, and moved into an external account in a different country. The fees are low and I get the forex spot rate not some 5 or 6 pt spread between buying and selling that pays criminally high broker fees; I’ve saved literally hundreds of USD on one transaction alone. With some platforms you pay more to get an easy process; with others the cost is low but you have to jump through a lot of hoops. TransferWise is that rare situation where the process is easy AND the cost structure is low. I love it, easiest 5-stars I’ve given in a long while.

Just keeps getting better and faster!. My son goes to to uni in Scotland and I need to regularly send money to him from the States. This service is awesome. I've been using it for about a year and a half and transfers used to take about three days to complete which was quite acceptable but recently they are just taking about 8-12 hours to complete which it wonderful. Thanks so much for the best money transfer service out there!! Some people claim Bitcoin is better for such money transfers. I totally disagree. TransferWise shows you exactly how much it costs and the other side gets exactly the amount you wanted to send. The small service charge is cheap for the peace of mind you have. Also transfers can be easily proved to the IRS if needed and since I'm transferring money for legitimate reasons from legitimate sources, this is a big plus.

what service will degrade next month?. I am getting ready to cancel my Transferwize account. as time passes the obvious corporate pressure has caused the system to succumb to degradation after degradation. it started with slowing down the transfers. Direct bank account transfers started to take extra days. wire transfers were instantaneous… then they started to slow down wire transfers but that’s not all. I was delayed additional time because they begin to add fees to US dollar to US dollar transfers. again… The corporate pressure to show increased earnings every quarter but potentially without being able to add customers. so I checked again today two days later the wire transfer has not gone through because the amount was incorrect. I sense this is because they blocked my transfer from completing because they deducted a little money from the transfer and now the transfer amount was wrong! Again this is from US dollars to US dollars. and contacting tech-support went from a breeze to almost impossible. The transfer wise glacier is starting to melt I would jump off before you jump on. with this type of customer service it’s very unlikely they will see the increasing customers needed to justify not charging something else next quarter to pad their earnings.

2nd Time, Still Not The Charm. TL;DR: Don’t use this app, you’ll simply waste your time. 0 stars if possible So I opened a TransferWise account a few month ago to send myself money from my USA account to my Thailand bank accounts. I made the mistake to use apple’s hide my email feature during sign up. Wise deactivate my account without sending me an email. So when I need to send money I wasn’t aware my account wasn’t working until it was too late and I ended up look like an idiot. I might be so who know. Anyways I left a comment and Wise responded saying, I should appeal my account deactivation. Which I did and they kept it shut. So months later, I’m opening an account with OpenCollective, a site where my company can publicly receive donations and contractors can request payments from set donations. Turns out that they use Wise to transfer the funds from my company account to my contractors account. I begrudgingly opened a Business account knowing how last time went…. And guess what? My business’ account has been shut down and I don’t know why and I needed to pay my contractors today. Also no email. I’ll go back to using Remitly. They have helped me for the past few months and I haven’t had any issue with them. I’m not endorsing Remitly and this is not a paid add, just look at the review on App Store, Remitly has more downloads and 5 stars, wise is slowing loosing the 5 stars. All in all I’m done, gotta go pay some hardworking men and women. Good day.

Convenient and Transparent International Banking with the Wise Bank App. One of the key benefits of using the Wise bank app is its transparent fee structure. Unlike traditional banks and money transfer services that may charge hidden fees and exchange rate markups, Wise displays the exact exchange rate and fees upfront. This helps users save money and avoid surprises when sending or receiving money. The app is also easy to use, with a simple and intuitive interface that allows users to quickly navigate and perform transactions. Users can easily create a multi-currency account, transfer money, track their transactions, and manage their balances in real-time. Another advantage of the Wise bank app is its security features. The app uses strong encryption and two-factor authentication to ensure that users' personal and financial information is protected. Additionally, Wise is regulated by financial authorities in various countries, providing users with additional peace of mind. Overall, the Wise bank app is a reliable and convenient solution for international money transfers and banking. Its transparent fees, easy-to-use interface, and robust security features make it a popular choice among users. However, as with any financial app or service, it's important to carefully review and understand the terms and conditions before using it.

Extremely slow transfer. I started the transfer of my USD to Euros last Monday, it is now the following week in Tuesday and I’ve been in Europe since last Thursday night without having any money in my wise bank account because it’s still in the process of transferring. Luckily I brought an extra bank card that I’m sure I’m getting absolutely destroyed in conversion fees on because I have no choice but to use it since I still can’t use my wise card. With only just a few days left in my trip I’m extremely unsatisfied with this whole process. I would’ve transferred my money a month ago had I known it would take this long and even then I would’ve been unsatisfied with the long process. I’m sure the card is nice to use when the exchange process is complete and you can see how much you’re accurately spending in Euros in each transaction but BEWARE and start your transaction currency exchange several weeks before your trip to avoid what I’m currently going through.

Good but some very frustrating bugs. Overall a good service, but every now and then you hit a really annoying “can’t do it in the app” bug One extremely frustrating thing that seems odd in how they overlooked it is when they need you to upload verification or supporting documents. When you go on iPhone or iPad to select a file (they want a PDF), nothing works. The file selector won’t allow you to pick ANY file. However, the exact same process on their website works just fine with the native iOS file selector, which means it’s a bug in their app. Already found others with the same problem, which is disappointing since it’s a known issue that Wise hasn’t addressed then. FYI if you’re experiencing the same issue: don’t use their app, go straight to their website (which doesn’t speak well to downloading the app then in the first place, I guess?)

The apple app glitched and charged my first card. So I clicked Apple Pay and the screen glitched and it literally charged my first card which was a credit card. I did notify a representative and he told me it’s possible that I could incur a fee but why should I. The fee is from a US bank but not them. I am disputing this as this wasn’t the card I wanted and it never let me scroll my cards. Charges have been incurred due to a cash advance fee. I refuse to pay the cash advance fee. I would get someone to look at the Apple app feature even thou I would never ever use it again. Other than that everything else seems to work fine. I just connect my card directly now. Now for the app and the service of TransferWise I think it’s great and even thou It started on the wrong foot, I think the idea and the service is wonderful. I spoke to Alan and he walked me through everything and made feel very comfortable. Don’t take my three stars as for the service which is 5 stars but take the 3 stars for app. The Apple Pay option made me real nervous.

Business Owners BEWARE. Pray that you never have an issue with your account. You can only communicate via email as they reserve phone calls for “special situations”. If you are self employed - FORGET about using this app. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. They do not understand how self employed/business owners earn their income. When your account is flagged and paused from transactions because you need to “verify income” you’ll never get past this step. I have sent tax returns, every Quickbooks report I can find, business and personal bank statements, legal docs proving I own my business, owners draw statements where I’ve paid myself. They won’t accept anything. Then, when they couldn’t accept my documents…they moved to accusing me of using my account for “business purposes” when you can clearly see my transaction history is to the gas station, the grocery story, restaurants. I have done nothing wrong or nefarious, provided every document they have asked for, and have been locked out of my account (that holds funds) for over a month now. With zero way to communicate with a human except for emails. Wise is AWFUL and I wish I’d never signed up with them and tied up my own money.

Unexplained delay. I have used Transferwise (Wise) many times to transfer money. It always took just a few minutes to complete a transfer. This time, however, it took 3 days. I initiated the transfer on the morning of 1 April. Within a few minutes, Wise contacted my bank and my account was debited the transfer amount. Yet Wise kept saying “money is on the way, not received”. This is an electronic transfer initiated by Wise. My bank did not assemble the cash, put it in an envelope, and dispatch it via steamship to the UK. Electronic transfers are virtually instantaneous. I can think of no legitimate reason for Wise to sit on the money for so long before completing the transfer. If Wise indeed did not receive the funds immediately when it was deducted from my bank account, where was the money for 3 days? This calls into question both the utility and security of your website. If you cannot explain where my money was between the time my account was debited with funds sent to Wise (1 April) and the time you completed the transfer (4 April) then you clearly are not in control of this process.

Worst service in the world!. Worst transfer service! Disconnected my bank account so money couldn’t be transferred. Reaching out for help is a joke! And then their website doesn’t work and there’s no help there either!! A waste of time and energy! They used to be okay. Now they’re not worth it. Updates ruined everything. They want you to give them complete access to your bank account information, not only your account balance but who you write checks to and for how much and complete access to your bank statements for the last twelve months which shows not only how much you spend but how much you deposit and where it all comes from and who and where it goes! They want access to you complete financial life. That has nothing to do with security! It has to do with them trying to get you to authorize them hacking into your account. And they not only require access to all your financial information, they require access to your contacts and contacts information. These people have turned into a scamming outfit! Don’t use this app. Go somewhere else!

5 days to transfer. At first, your transfers will be fast and same day. Later on, it will consistently take at least 5 days. The money will be out of your bank account on the same day, and will not show up at the end transfer point until after 5 days, even if you are transferring money locally between your local bank and your wise account. Make a transfer from your local bank to your wise account, and that will take at least 5 days, irrespective of when you initiate the transfer (Monday to Friday). During this time window, the money is held at Wise. App is ok if you are a planner, however, it is not practical for instantaneous-needed-to-pay transfers. Note that during your first two/three months of using the app, everything will be lightning fast.

Great app. I use this application to pay my rent in Europe. I am currently living abroad with my family and we have to convert the American dollar to euro. The conversion does it really fast and it uses the current market of the day. Not only does it convert the euro it does all other currencies throughout Europe very easy and fast like converting it to a different bank on the same app. Sometimes when I pay my rent the transfer will take about four business days to clear my bank sometimes it will do it the same day. You can load up currency into euro and keep it there and pay quickly that way I just transfer when I need to depending on if we go vacation to a certain country then I will transfer money to that currency. You can do three ATM withdrawals a month for free. Rad job credit wise!!!!

Used to be Excellent, Now Unreliable. I’ve been using Wise for transfers to Mexico for a couple of years and until recently have been very pleased with them. Transfer usually take a few seconds from clicking send to seeing the deposit in the the Mexican bank account. Until a month ago, I would have rated them 6 out of 5 stars, and I have recommended them to many of my colleagues and friends (a couple of them were even considerate enough to use the link I sent them so I’d get credit). Recently, however, some transfers have taken several days. I’m currently waiting for a deposit that I transferred 10 days ago. Things happen, I understand, but the customer service people at Wise, though friendly, are completely unhelpful. They give me no info on the delayed transfer, and they promise to email me soon with an update, but I never hear from them. I’m switching to a different currency exchange company.

Almost great. The Wise concept is awesome and they are on the way to something wonderful BUT, be prepared to ask for the bank, account, email and street address for all the people you will send money to. AND know that popular apps will NOT let you copy just the email or address part of a message. ALSO, know that your potential recipients will want to know why you are asking for this information and they will do this while you are copying their information from one app on one screen and pasting into another app on another screen. ALL of this can take an hour if you do it yourself. The recipient could do this in person in a few minutes. Once the recipient is in your app, you can send to them easily and cheaply BUT if you send too many transfers too soon, WISE will quit for several DAYS while it waits for transactions to complete, leaving you with few payment options for the duration of the timeout. WISE will send you a survey about their process. Ask them if they actually use their app on a smartphone with two thumbs.

Mistakenly entered wrong email in creating account.. Hi team, I am facing a very strange situation I created Wise account and when I was signing up I missed one digit in my email and completed the whole process. The strange thing is wise don’t ask me at that moment which he had to that I had to verify the email before completing the signup process but anyhow app doesn’t required but when I was again trying to sign in on laptop with my actual email then it didn’t let me through because email address is wrong with wise perspective because I registered with wrong email at that point I realised and check in my wise app setting my email address is different and when I tried to correct it or want to change to my actual email it required verification from previous wrong email address which ofcoarse I can’t do that. So this is a bug you guys have to remove if anyone starts signing up you have to verify their email address before creating their account. Kindly help me ASAP. Thank You

Fees, Fees, Fees!. Update: I had to update my review from a few weeks ago since the fees just kept coming. Apparently when you use a credit card, it’s considered a “cash advance”, so on top of the multiple Wise fees, there’s the $10 transaction fee, plus a “cash advance”. I would have saved money just doing an international wire transfer with a flat rate! (Plus it would have been more trustworthy) Please excuse me while I delete this app for good. Original: The interface is a bit weird as you can’t just select the amount you need to send the recipient. There are a lot of fees on the first page, but when you go to the next page, the method of payment will add another percentage. I chose a credit card for added security, which was the highest percentage at around 1.85%. Additionally my credit card, which is very international- friendly, charged me an additional $10 USD transaction fee for each transaction, regardless of the sent amount. I will continue to look for other methods that are not so costly in the future.

Better exchange rates and cheaper fees.. I first started using TransferWise a year ago and the experience was ok to say the least. It was difficult to setup a recipient’s account number (my bank is in Mexico, it will be different for your country) and it asked for all kinds of numbers. I finally gave up and stopped using the app. A year later I decided to give it another try and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I was able to setup the account with a single number. The money was deposited sooner than the original estimated 3 days. I have compared this service to a few others and this is by far the best and cheapest way to send money overseas. I’ve already saved about 25 USD in my first 2 transactions. It might not seem like a lot but over time it does make a difference. The app is so much fun to use, I love that I can use Apple Pay to send money and I only see what I need to see, no more, no less. One thing to keep in mind is that money doesn’t get to your account right away, that’s not an issue for me. If you’re having emergency you may want to use a different service. Again, this will depend on which country you’re sending money to. Kudos to you guys for making TransferWise such a joy to use.

Problem to verify my account.. So I have this account for a long time. I got married and I don’t have my marriage name on my passaport a couple monthly ago they asked me to verify that. A send my drive licenses with my my actual married name on it after that a got my account working... a couple of days ago I needed send money to my family in another country and for my surprise I couldn’t get it done because they were asking for me to verify my account again. I call them and send my marriege certificate and other documents. So they send me a email telling image quality wasn’t good enough. Ok! I call them AGAIN! and send the files, the person that was in the call told me that the files was good quality and it shouldn’t be a problem anymore. Couple of hours later I got another email saying that they could not verify my account and I should send my documents AGAIN!. Look a don’t know what is going on! It looks you guys are holding the accounts for us not to send money right now. It’s is pretty bad! I need to send money for my family that are in need because what’s going on with this Coronavirus. I don’t see this company is helping us customers go though this. I’m very disappointed.

Help & Support team always busy😓. I wanted to transfer money back to my country immediately and paid via Apple ID and I entered the correct details and the money was deducted from my account. After that I thought the money went to the bank in my country for my family to use for shopping but ..In App wise it is written that the money will be credited at the set time which I never received. I have never changed details about the Garantree rate because my family has financial problems and needs money urgently. Money transfer transactions often happen like this, sometimes less than 30 seconds, sometimes a day, and I've never been able to contact Help and support or customer service center. I've been using this app for years and have tried to introduce myself around. I have always used it, but now everything has changed with time…Farewell

Made a “Wise” decision. I have been using wise for nearly 4 years now. I started using it as a student when I came to Australia. I’ve tried multiple platforms before wise but none of them were neither simple nor easy. I used their card to make payments when I travelled to other countries and most of the times it works without any issues. It only failed a multiple times where the eftpos didn’t recognise the card so beware of that. Carry cash with you when travelling to different countries. Apart from that, sending and receiving money is lightening quick. Sometimes it may take a while if the receiver is new. One time I entered the bank number wrong and it took a couple days for the money to credit back. Overall, it’s a great product. And one of the best platforms with least charges out there.

A good service but an annoying app. I’ve been with Wise for a few years now going back to its TransferWise days. It provides a good service but the app is annoying. Every so often the company does an update and I’m locked out of my account. Then comes the problem of logging in - as usual, today it’s not recognising my email address. So I’m going through the hassle of that. Each time they lock me out like this it takes at least a couple of hours to get back in again. Very tedious and annoying. The longest I’ve had to wait is few days while I wait for their help desk to get back to me. Sometimes they never do. You’d really think they’d invest some money into getting their customer facing IT working properly. Other companies can do it, but Wise has never really got it right.

Terrible app. If you’re over seas and trying to transfer money good luck. I am currently in Greece and tried to transfer euro to a rental car company at my next island as they needed a deposit to hold the car for me, which should be no problem! Knowing that I wasn’t going to have access to my Australian phone number while overseas I chose two factor authentication to go through WhatsApp, and my google authenticator app, but here I am in Greece not even able to put a deposit down for a rental car! because the only 2FA options it is giving me is to sms my Australian number, or call my Australian number, which obviously doesn’t work, because I’m not in Australia. After trying everything to transfer this deposit for 3 days I ended up not getting the rental car as they rented it to someone else thanks to wise and now I’m stuck paying 40 euros for transport every time I want to leave my accomodation. Terrible app, I don’t recommend!

Not for regular use. If you intend to use wise as your regular bank I’d consider other options. They have been beyond frustrating for me and it’s just such a pain to change banks and direct deposit, direct debts and so on. They freeze payments, cancel directs debts to pay bills, take days to change transactions from pending to complete. I can’t buy groceries with my debit card at a certain grocery store for no reason, I’ve called to ask why and they told me they don’t know and to use another debit card. I don’t have another card. I just can’t buy groceries from there. Pretty much every time I call they have an unsatisfactory answer. Never had such issues with any other bank. They promised me $50 as an apology for canceling my credit card payment and causing me to get a late fee, I have yet to see that money. I actually hate them. I’ve paid them hundreds if not thousands in transfer fees and exchange fees, and they do nothing but make my life hard.

Buyer beware.. The app works fine, but the transfers using SWIFT involve hidden costs which are deducted from the receiver’s amount. Despite the unambiguous in-app statement made twice during a recent transfer that “Mr. X will receive exactly $110,” Mr. X in fact received $81. The remainder disappeared in mysterious ‘intermediary bank fees’, which TW claims they make clear in the app. Which is not true: the statement regarding intermediary fees is vague and ambiguous, and follows the above promise, which is totally unambiguous. I can only think of one way of interpreting the statement “Mr. X will receive exactly $110,” but TW claims there is another, less salubrious interpretation. Where they studied logic, and the philosophy of language, I don’t know, but they clearly didn’t learn much of either. To be fare, all my previous dealings with TransferWise have been simple and fast, with low fees, and worked as promised. Email and phone correspondence with the company over this issue has been pitifully inadequate. BE CAREFUL, because their vague statement about intermediary fees actually means, “when we say “X will receive exactly $X,” what we mean is, he may or may not... we don’t know what we’re doing, we don’t mind breaking promises, and we take no responsibility for it. But we’ll happily take your initial transfer fees, and deduct all the extra unknown fees from the recipient. Thanks, sucker.” See you in court, TW.

Best payment card and international transfers, please add multiple cards. Wise has managed to thread the needle between the reliability of traditional banking and the utility of modern fintech. Unlike certain other “revolutionary” apps in this category, Wise actually cares about its customers, delivering a robust and wallet-friendly experience. You can have several virtual cards in addition to your physical card and exchange rates while travelling are an order of magnitude cheaper than big banks offer. One thing they could improve on is offering more than one physical card. Considering the fx fee advantage of Wise, it stands to reason several cards would be a good complement to the service for frequent travellers who don’t want to risk losing their card while abroad. It’s very common for tourists to lose their cards to ATMs due to theft or simply the fact that some ATMs return the card after paying out cash, contrary to the ATMs at home. Also there’s sometimes a need to freeze or cancel cards due to foul play. Backup Wise cards would go a long way in those scenarios.

My Defacto For Travel. I won’t use anything else moving forward as Wise has me covered. I can fund multiple currencies with instant bank transfers so funds are available in less than 5 mins. Wise also issues a physical debit card that I can use to withdraw cash locally as well as integrate through Apple Pay for PayWave enabled terminals. Every time I transact from one of my currencies I am instantly advised of the transaction amount and remaining foreign currency balance. All of this at forex broker rates for currency exchange absolutely blowing the banks out of the water. Absolutely recommended - indispensable travel application for me.

Best Travel Money Card. I've been using the Wise travel money card for a while now, and it's hands down the best app and card I've ever used for managing money while traveling. The ease of transferring money is unparalleled—it's super fast, reliable, and the exchange rates are among the best you'll find. Whether I'm paying in local currency or transferring money between accounts, Wise makes the process effortless and stress-free. Not only does it save me money, but it also gives me peace of mind knowing that my funds are secure and accessible wherever I go. I highly recommend the Wise travel money card to anyone looking for a hassle-free and cost-effective way to manage their money while traveling. It's an absolute game-changer!

Access designed. The good: When you can get into the App the features and layout are good. Service offered for currency conversation is great. Information about transactions and account balances are clearly articulated. The bad: It takes me 5-10 min to to get the App to recognise that I want to log in or use my finger print ID. Buttons just don’t work and screen returns to defaults back to Home Screen over and over and over again. Extremely frustrating. Finding information within Wise online and in the App as to how function work and what they mean, such as understanding Defined Terms used. Had to use a trial and error with my money to workout how most of the transactions worked. That when I can get into the App of course…..

Excellent service. I have been using TransferWise every month for overseas bill payment and they always provide me excellent service! The exchange rate is very competitive, the transfer is made easy and quick, and when I had to reach out for any kind of request/issue, they gave me prompt reply with solutions. But what actually encouraged me to write this review is for what happened last week. By mistake, I had transferred more than I intended to, and didn’t even notice. 2 days later, I’ve received an unexpected deposit and found out it was the difference for what I’ve paid for. I know it might sound that it’s something any decent human being would do, but they’ve done it so honestly and smoothly that I felt very valued as a client and had to share my satisfaction with their service. Thank you for this incredible service and keep up the beautiful work! ✨

Excellent App. I’ve used this for Travel in Thailand and Vietnam.. Transfer money from your bank account into whatever currency you desire. Transfers take around 5 minutes to complete or less. I put my Wise Card into any ATM overseas and local currency is given. So easy to use. Better than taking a credit card or any Travel Card issued by the big banks that are usually hidden with many charges. Even gives you the option to add a digital card on Apple Pay which is super handy. Love this app. I’ll keep using it and hopefully they don’t increase the rates and withdrawal fees!

DO NOT USE. We chose to use Wise as our primary source of access to money while overseas for 2 months. It was great until a business accidentally charged us twice for a large purchase and immediately they reversed the second charge but Wise did not release the funds back to us they have in their fine print that any pending funds must remain with them for a 30 day period before releasing the funds. Very lucky I’m a planner and had a second option to access money while overseas to continue our travels. I’ve been on the phone and written numerous emails to resolve this issue and Wise keep changing the rules each time we provide the evidence they request to have the money released. Do not use these guys or very least make sure you have another option in case this happens to you. We are still trying to get back our funds in excess of $2000 AU.

transferring money takes months. I transferred money using wise. they asked for additional documentation which i provided. after 2 weeks of waiting they then cancelled the transfer with no explanation! i attempted to transfer some money again, it was again cancelled. It’s been over a week now and i’m still waiting for my refund. The helpline will not help you in these situations. At the same time i was able to do 2 other successful transfers. There is no explanation why 2 transfers were able to go through using the exact same method and accounts and 2 were cancelled. Furthermore no explanation as to why it is taking over two times the advised time frame for a refund. If you need your money transferred in under 1-2month i would not recommend this app. They will mess you around, there will be no explanation and there is no recourse.

Brilliant way to handle funds whilst traveling. Have found Wise to be an exceptional way to handle funds whilst traveling. Used it to set ourselves up to lease a flat in London for 6 months including APs for various utilities, phone, council tax, etc., as well as transferring large sums to pay rent in advance, along with all daily expenses. Thereafter, have used Wise for travel in various European countries, Turkey, India and Singapore. Very easy to navigate and move money between currencies, and the rates are always fair. My only criticism is I’d like to be able to operate a joint account with linked cards (at present we have a separate account each).

Wise is Great. The Wise app is a revolutionary tool for handling international money transfers and currency exchange. Its standout feature is the ability to offer real-time exchange rates, ensuring that users get the most value out of their transactions. The app boasts a user-friendly interface that simplifies the process of sending money across borders, making it accessible and straightforward even for those new to such financial services. Wise prides itself on transparency, displaying all fees upfront so there are no surprises. Additionally, it typically offers lower fees and better rates than traditional banks, which makes it a cost-effective choice. The app also provides features such as multi-currency accounts, allowing users to hold and manage money in several currencies simultaneously, which is exceptionally beneficial for travelers and international workers. The security measures in place are robust, providing users with peace of mind when conducting transactions. Overall, Wise is acclaimed for its efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer-centric approach.

Wise Card & App. Easy to use, just like a visa debit card. Check balance, transfer funds between accounts and convert currency (at a higher rate than on the street) via the app. You can also freeze your card when not in use and unfreeze on the app to protect from skimmers which makes it safe. You can have multiple currencies on the one card which makes it perfect when travelling. This card takes the hassel out of having to access cash in a foreign country, just withdrawal at an atm and pay minimal fees if withdrawing at preferred atms. Just tap, swipe or insert to use once activated.

It’s a scam! Wise won’t release my money for 6 days!! Zero rate guarantee!. I made the online transfer which I bank confirmed went through to Wise’s designated account on the same day (Friday afternoon). As I was not able to input reference number with my bank, Wise was unable to match the payment and held my money for 6 days. SIX DAYS. If you don’t have the mechanism to receive our money in 24hr, guaranteed rate is just a scam!! How hard is it to match the payment if I’ve made multiple transfers in the past always from the same bank account, and the account names are the same (less middle name on the sender side). They had to manually match the payment after reviewing my proof of transfer which took another day and they said the proof of fund doesn’t have my bank details. It is right there. Why are they stalling? Or return the money right back into where it came from. It’s not your money! REVOLUT IS 100 TIMS BETTER.

Used to be good. I am not sure what’s happening but this app used to be perfect. Three or four clicks and the money was on its way. The good old days... but now, nothing in the app is consistent. For years I transferred funds every month from my Bank of America USD account to my Australian AUD account without a hitch. Now when I try a transfer, instead of pulling the funds out of my Bank Of America account automatically (like before) I get a message telling me I must “send” funds manually (old way) from my bank to another bank account owned by TransferWise. Then, after I finish that transaction, they instruct me to go back to the TransferWise app to continue with my transfer. Holy Moly this is worse than the old way. The worse point is that the fees are increased from the previous $11 or $12 to $24 or $25 so, the process is now more cumbersome and cost twice as much. Ironically my banks now have reduced their fees (if I use their online transfer app) so the TransferWise advantage is GONE. I am sure that Sir Richard Branson (an early investor) must be very disappointed in this team !!

It works. I have used the app for the last twelve months and only once has it taken more than 24 hours, that is quite impressive. It seems to be updated every week though I have never noticed any major change in use, overall easy to use, I like. December 2019 Still continues to be my preferred method to transfer funds every month , it works. June 2020 has continued to work without problems. October 2021, still using the app., it works and has now got amazingly fast between Australia and Thailand. March 2022, still using app. it’s now extremely fast between Australia and Thailand, transfers usually take less than two minutes even on weekends. Update, October 2024 ,the app is constantly changing and not for the better, my last transfer said money available tomorrow and yet it was in my account in three minutes. Too many false messages and often “ oops, there is an error “.

App BUG!. Not at all happy with the new app. I have sent messages twice now to “support” and they can’t fix it! There is a big problem with the new Wise App. Each time, after I complete a transfer, when I press “share with recipient” the screen freezes. There is nothing I can do except for completely close out of the Wise App and start again. With the old App, I pressed “share with recipient” and it would bring me to the screen where I could choose from email, text message, WhatsApp etc then I could choose how to share the transfer payment. But with the new upgraded App, it freezes every single time and I can’t share it that way - which is super annoying. Yes, I have made sure that I have the most updated Wise Application installed and I have turned my iPhone 11 Pro Max off and on again and it still doesn’t fix the problem. Please help!

Strange Data Accuracy. Sent two small transfers within minutes of each other to Wise, then Wise sent both of them to the same pre-saved details for my Bank Permata account Second one went through with no problem and was received in the account. The first transfer was rejected by Bank Permata. So how does this happen….i changed nothing so either Wise system sent the wrong details for the first transfer but the second transfer details were correct or Permata rejected the first transfer incorrectly and approved the second transfer???? But how to get Wise to contact Permata????

WISE- Best card for Australians for International currency transactions.. I have used this card in many ways. - To withdraw cash when overseas - to send funds to private accounts for donations or payments in their currency - to pay ‘at checkout ‘ when overseas / (so far both in Europe and USA). for purchases made or for dining / hotel accommodations, gas (petrol) etc. Compared to previously used ‘bank travel cards’ - fees are minimal and the BEST part of course ; is the rate that Wise converts my currency. Always happy that it is the BEST rate available on the date I do the conversion within my Wise accounts. Only disappointment so far is that cards are not issued to those living in USA. I can use my card whilst travelling in USA (I am Australian ) but my son cannot get a card. This is my understanding? But happy to be corrected. I have recently passed this information to a friend who is heading to Europe this week. I told her that she wouldn’t have time to get a wise card (she had not opened her account in time. However, she was pleased enough to find that she could get a virtual card . I hope I have that right. I was assisted approx 1 year ago by a New Zealand friend in setting up my WISE account and using it. Best tip ever for international travel. Thankyou to the developers.

Great app, with room to improve.. A very handy app. Love the currency exchange options, and the ability to instantly create virtual credit cards (and freeze/unfreeze them), along with card limits. The app has room for improvement. It would be nice to have a Single Use Disposable Credit Card option available. It would also be nice to see the current value of money in other accounts showing using realtime exchange rates for the users local currency against each foreigh account as some information. (It lists the 'total cash' available, but doesn't show the local currency equivalent against each foreign currency). It's also missing the ability to share an account with a spouse member, and have multiple accounts / linking cards to different accounts or subaccounts. It would also be nice to be able to unlock features using FaceID natively, instead of having to enter a password (or having a password auto-fill). Even with so many areas it can improve on, I still give it 4 stars due to the convenience of the features it currently has.

Don’t be fooled. Transferwise advertises portraying itself as ‘different’ when in reality it’s just another currency exchange service that may save you a bit of money on the transfer but will skin you on their borderless account and will play the same tricks big banks play when transferring your money.. such as misplacing your funds for a few days so they can do the short term money market with clients funds.. Don’t be fooled! I was and I set up a withdrawal from my business borderless account on Thursday afternoon only to have the money go missing till Friday late in the afternoon.. I rang in three times to enquire and on the first time I was told ‘sorry’ it would take 20 min but an hour and a half later nothing so I rang again and was told there was a tech issue but no one could elaborate and this went in for another whole day until finally the money was ‘released’ late on a Friday but of course by then it was not going to show up until Tuesday the following week.. And this was a withdrawal of my own funds!.. At no time was I given a proper explanation of any kind - but I was left without access to said funds for 5 days.. Do yourself a favour and skip the transferwise borderless account - just like a dinosaur bank it will sting you with fees and your money will go missing for days and all you’ll get in return is a shrug of their shoulders. I gave it one star because there’s no half star rating.

Wise great app but can improve. It's also missing the ability to share an account with a spouse member, and have multiple accounts / linking cards to different accounts or subaccounts. It would also be nice to be able to unlock features using FacelD natively, instead of having to enter a password (or having a password auto-fill). Even with so many areas it can improve on, I still give it 4 stars due to the convenience of the features it currently has.

Great app. By mistake, I had transferred more than I intended to, and didn't even notice. 2 days later, I've received an unexpected deposit and found out it was the difference for what I've paid for. I know it might sound that it's something any decent human being would do, but they've done it so honestly and smoothly that I felt very valued as a client and had to share my satisfaction with their service. Thank you for this incredible service and keep up the beautiful work!

Super fast process. I recently used Wise for an international money transfer, and I must say the process was impressively quick and efficient. From setting up the transfer to the funds arriving at the destination, it was all seamless and hassle-free. The platform is user-friendly, with transparent fees and real-time updates on the transfer status, which gave me peace of mind throughout the process. Overall, Wise delivered exactly what I needed—fast and reliable service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, straightforward way to send money internationally.

Referral Reward Is Total BS. For years, I used and recommended this app to my friends and family.. they said when you got 3 other referred ppl joining and using this app, we’ll get money reward.. but even after I got 4-5 successful referred ppl using it, nothing happened - even after months.. when I remembered about it, I asked their customer service. Not only did I get unhelpful and slow reply.. their reason for not giving the reward is very appalling and don’t make sense. They said that I’ve invited the same person more than once. Hello? Not only I never did that, and if by any chance that accidentally happened.. would it not be able to happen because you have the process of verification to make sure one person only have one account? Anyway that is totally ridiculous reason to get away from giving the rewards they said they were going to give. Rock on Transferwise, would not recommend you guys anymore to anyone with this kind of terrible customer service - no service at all 👎🏼 Sorry, I rarely gave bad reviews to anything even though I was not having a good experiences, be it for products or services - but this I think is unfair and doesn’t make any sense thus I wanna warn other ppl so they’re not getting into this referral trap of yours 🙏🏼

Hopeless. Wise and it’s functionality has been advertised extensively on Australia TV recently. It promised to be much more flexible than the app I had been using to transfer money before so I signed up. After taking all my details including copy of my drivers licence I tried a small transfer to it out. After several delays it took about four days. Hoping this was only a first off delay while they checked my details I tried again. Another relatively small transfer for a relatives medical expenses, I still encountered several delays despite the app promising the transfer in minutes. After four more days I was told that the transfer was cancelled even though wise had received my money. Then my account was deactivated, no reason given. Fortunately my money was refunded. Is this app a scam to get my personal details? I hope they have deleted my personal info. Bye bye Wise back to WorldRemit whom I have used many times previously with no problems and almost instantaneous transfers.

Happy user. I love the multiplicity of currency. Yeah there could be delays sometimes, but that’s how they make their money. Just understand that you have to be patient when you transfer money. There are no set time frame for the transfer to go through, while they speculate, it may take longer/shorter time for the transfer to go through, but they will always update you. I have used TransferWise several times, I have only once queried a transfer, then I got an automated email that it will take up to 2 days to get a reply, but About an hour later I got a reply explaining how it works. So don’t always take the automated estimate as the yardstick to measure the timing, if the purpose for the transfer is not that urgent, be pretty sure that you can rely on them. The exchange is pretty close to what you get on google and currency converter, Low transfer fees, you can already tell exactly what the recipient gets, the app is easy to use. I will add the remaining star pretty soon when you treat me as VIP. Lol😂👍🏾

Easy Secure Quick Economical. Wise was referred to me by a friend and it has been the best thing I have done. I pay for international travel, online purchases and daily living expenses at home and abroad. So easy and quick to use as well as great security. Exchange rates and swapping between currencies has been very economical. Great to not have to deal with lots of left over coins that can’t be cashed in when returning home. Updated 26 May , 2024 - had my Wise card skimmed whilst in Asia, and hundreds of dollars of my money taken via online shopping, the Wise 2 factor authentication did not stop the fraudulent transactions. I was left without any local currency and my AUD was also converted and gone. Wise are investigating my complaint, but in the meantime I have to use other credit cards at prevailing foreign exchange rates and fees.I suggest that everyone has their cards protected by RFID and have a secondary physical travel money card on hand from a different company as a back up because you are on your your own without any local help.

Do not use Wise for large sum money transfers, even to yourself. I have used Wise for many years, with only a few issues. However approximately a week ago; I tried to use the Wise app, to transfer money to myself, to buy a new MacBook Pro. I am a British/Australian dual national, a Doctor of Philosophy, semi-retired academic and travel regularly. Wise gave a date for the transfer completion date; then this vanished. I made queries and the wise rep said that I was being investigated for a sanction. This is thoroughly ridiculous. I believe an excuse to hoard our money. The Wise app encourages users to make large money transfers. Don’t. You may never see your money again. You will lose interest, face stress and disappointment and may miss the opportunity to buy the item that you set your heart upon. I have informed Wise that in the future I will use simple bank to bank IBAN / Swift transfers. I will investigate their possible theft of my money, with the Australian Federal Police. Avoid.

I Fear Technology controlling my Money BUT, this is awesome. Like most over 50 year olds, money in your hand is real - Yes so being concerned over technology controls of finance is NOT second nature. My son moved ALL his money from Australia to UK using this APP! I was concerned BUT I have since used it 3 times now with the Last LumpSUM causing a Large Lump in my throat. I'm in awe that I booked the transfer on Friday afternoon after work Aus time, and have just had the completion into my UK Bank at 02:34 Aus Monday morning. Yes was up waiting, with lump unfounded, can not feel so satisfied with such an easy Click of buttons. Thank you TransferWise for saving me from slow banks over charging fees at poor exchange rates. Don't give them your hard earned Dosh!

Complete within 30 minutes or the rate changes. Excellent app, easy to use and self explanatory. I’ve used Transferwise twice now and they are a lot cheaper than using your bank. The 24 hour guaranteed rate is fixed, however, if you get stuck on a section of the transfer for more than 30 minutes (like if your bank delay sending money for 6 hours because they want proof of identity, two copies of your signature, a dna test and your complete family tree dating back to 1665...yes you Co-operative Bank UK) the rate will change to whatever the average rate is when Transferwise receive the money.

Best for handle international money transfer. Wise is a game-changer for anyone needing to handle international money transfers and currency exchange. The app's ability to provide real-time exchange rates ensures that you always get the best value for your money. Its user-friendly interface makes navigating through features and managing transactions incredibly straightforward. Additionally, Wise's global reach, supporting over 170 countries and 50 currencies, makes it an essential tool for frequent travelers or anyone dealing with international finances. The added support for deposits via Apple Pay is a significant convenience. Overall, Wise offers a seamless and efficient way to manage your finances globally. Highly recommended!

Improve money tracking technology.. It took 10 days for my brother to send me money from Canada to Australia. After 2 days we both received email saying money has been transferred but I didn’t received it. After 7-8 days of calling them daily asking about money everyone from wise had different answers. No one really know what was happening. Someone was saying ask the bank, other was like we(Wise) have your money some checks are going on, one said send us your Id we need to verify your account and many more random things. After 10 days of stress I finally received it. I have never been so tensed in my life. I wasn’t able to work properly. I was very happy with this app before but with my last experience I am simply uninstalling the app and would just go with banks for the transfer as they can at least answer my questions and I can track my money.

Disappointed with Wise's Business Account Services. I don’t normally complaint but I was unable to speak with Wise management so posting a review here instead. I am deeply disappointed with Wise's business account services. Despite signing up for a Hong Kong business account, I was unable to make card payments or receive funds from banks- it beggars believe this was not advertised during the sign up process- it seems like an attempt to harvest personal identify information! Moreover, when attempting to open an Australian company account, I faced obstacles in submitting documents to the support team. After making five frustrating phone calls to the Philippines call center, enduring lengthy holds and identity verifications each time, I was simply told to resend the documents through another channel. To add insult to injury, on one of these calls, I was hung up on. This experience has left me thoroughly dissatisfied with Wise's functionality and support. I really lost faith in the neobank sector in general as Airwallex and Statrys were similar or worse in terms of customer service. Buyer Beware!!

Wow!! Why can’t my bank be like Wise?. WOW… JUST …WOW!!! Having recently bought on an overseas vendor I needed to set up a way to easily pay them for their goods and services. Checking exchange rates and then looking to transfer through my bank, not only were they charging a large fee, but the exchange rate they were using to convert was also highly leveraged in their favour. A quick Google search for the best ways to send money I came across Wise. Some further searches confirmed their validity so I went ahead. Account set up was easy and done in just minutes. Transferring money into my Wise account took just seconds and they’re using the actual exchange rate for my OS payment with just a simple and justifiable fee. I’ve saved over a thousand dollars using Wise instead of my bank (Westpac) on just this one transaction. I’m impressed and will no doubt save thousands each year using Wise for my OS payments. To top it off they’re supplying a business Visa I can use when travelling in over 150 countries and avoid more expensive bank conversion fees. But wait there was more. An extremely simple set up with Xero will make keeping our books as simple as possible too. Why can’t my Bank be like Wise?

Frustrating delays, useless APP. Since I wrote this a few days ago, the STOPPRD being able to send via webpage!! When starting to log in, it asks to VERIFY using the APP! AND WON’T LET YOU PROCEED, TRYING FORCE APP USE!!! I sent money to my account for a pre selected recipient straight away, BUT WISE TRACKING REPORTED STILL WAITING FOR MY FUNDS TO BE SENT 3 DAYS LATER!!! No email ever came to say Wise had received funds. This App was horrible, confusing to navigate, took me in circles, making NO sense over & over 😡 I gave up trying to find anyway to contact support in the App, it’s NOT listed! Went to Wise Website & eventually found a contact. Will ONLY use Web from now on to save my sanity, this App is a complicated disaster, I somehow ended up being charged the Wise Exchange fee TWICE! After multiple attempts got the funds sent to anxious recipients. 30 hrs later, Still waiting to hear back from support.

Want your money locked to not retrieve? Use wise. So wise will automatically lock your account whenever they feel like it. You sign up, run through verification process right? Get everything setup and you think thats it, right? Wrong. At will they will randomly just lock your account because of verification reasons. Not just once, but for me TWICE on two different bank accounts theyve opened for me. If someone doesnt pass verification on account opening, then thats it dont let them get an account! Why keep doing it months later? Basically you dont KNOW if your money is going to be save and withdrawable when they can suspend at any time. Unlike a real bank where they do verification on account creation and thats it. I seriously hope an investigation is done into Wise, and Apple decides to revoke this app. I thought Wise was really good but with all their back end logic these days just keeps flagging accounts because they want to, is just so unreliable

This is magic. I am rarely impressed by any applications, especially banking/finance type apps. However, I am completely blown away by how good Wise is, and compelled to give a 5 star review. Whatever this company is doing, keep on doing it. Many years ago, when I needed to transfer money from country to country , it took many days, if not weeks to move the money. In minutes, I was able to connect my bank accounts from 2 countries, get authenticated with them all and moving money between them. All with a competitive exchange rate. I was even able to issue myself a visa into my phone wallet and spend that money there and then. Mind blown.

Super wasy, fast and reasonable fees. App payment options don't show fees. I tried to switch because of an offer for another app. After my sign up experience and talking to the competion's contact centre I say screw the bonus credit and stick to TransferWise. Once setup it is so quick to select the recipient and payment method. And the money is on the way. Even with a better rate at the competition I'm not changing (yet). Money always arrived earlier than predicted, eg 1day instead of 2. Edit: disappointed when I used the app for my last transfer. The payment options were different than the ones in the web version. It doesn't warn you which one will incur fees. Thinking "cool I can use my credit card and pay via my apple wallet" it actually charged me fees twice. I was charged $25 by my bank and almost $7 by TransferWise. Very disappointed to say the least.

Borderless transfer does not work. The latest update says it works for borderless account but that’s not the case for me. I contacted the support email, they said it “sometimes” doesn’t work. I’ve tried many times in last few days, but it consistently fails, no “sometimes” about it. Meantime I’ve lost more than $100 because of a decline in FX rate..... more than the purported saving in bank fees. In short, don’t try to use this app if you want to lock the rate, which is one of the few benefits anyway of the “borderless” account ( which is also not really so “borderless” as described by the way). Also the app appears to have no link to live chat.

They stole $8000. Do not under any circumstances use this “service” We are a reputable business employing ‘22 staff in Brisbane Australia. We setup ‘wise” in November 2021 and used it to pay our suppliers, contractors, software subscriptions and social media advertising; around 80 recipients over the course of a month, with around 200 transactions. First we hit an undisclosed and unreasonable limit for the account that made the service useless as it basically froze our funds for 9 days prior to the end of the month, the limit was $50k spending in total per month. This left our suppliers waiting for payment and ceased our social media advertising until we could switch to a real bank card. Quite an administrative nightmare. Then suddenly and with no warning on 1st December 2021, this terrible excuse for a bank closed our account, withheld the statements and worst of all, only partially refunded the funds in our account. They have apparently misplaced $8000… 18 emails to customer service and they claim to still be investigating, it’s now the 2nd of January 2022, and we’re still missing $8000. You may not have a business that spends as much by credit cards as us, but consider whether you can risk losing everything in your “account”? Their customer service is by email only, nobody to call, no Australian based rules, just a seemingly completely unaccountable offshore pretend bank. Do not rely on their service for anything!

Confidence. This is my second trip ‘overseas’ with Wise. The first time I wasn’t confident enough to use it. This time I use it for everything. Brilliant - especially the speed at which it processes transfers from my bank to the card - nearly always instantaneous. Only thing to note is that over small amounts (not sure what) eftpos machine in shops etc will ask you to insert the card and provide a PIN - which security-wise is a good idea. Best of all, if it wants to verify, it’s done within the app. My other cards want an OTP (one time pin) sent to my home phone, but without global roaming that doesn’t work. Big ticks all round!

Money when you need it. I have been using Wise (TransferWise) for the past few years - once set up, accessing your hard earned savings couldn’t be easier. Today, no sooner had I actioned the transfer it was in my overseas bank account within seconds. I have had no trouble whatsoever accessing my funds. It’s just a simple and easy method with no hidden fees and you can also apply for a card that can be used almost anywhere in the world - will be testing that theory out later next year. A great product that I’ll continue to use.

Fast and huge savings! Best app ever!. Setting up accounts in many currencies was automatic, set up in seconds! Loved the fact that I didn’t need to have all the frills of an account that are normally needed in the big banks too like a social security number in the US. It was able to borough my identify almost straight away too so I had many accounts ready in many currencies. Sending money into my account from my normal bank took a few hours the first time so done faster than ANY bank I have ever banked with and many days faster than sending money internationally! Also WAY cheaper than PayPal or Western Union. I highly recommend this app!

I’m a traveller, & haven’t had 1 good experience with them.. It’s like I’m their first human being they’ve ever experienced travel overseas. I live between Australia, Indonesia, & now Israel. I have a different phone numbers in those countries. I’m surely not the first person to do this. Twice now I’ve submitted my photo with my ID in my hand. I’ve sent multiple emails. This has been back & forth since April. My partner uses Wise, is the only reason I’ve hounded this so relentlessly. Otherwise I’d have boycotted this business months ago for the amount of time it’s wasted. On two business deals it could have helped smooth things so easily, instead, it hindered me & made me mess around an Indonesian business partner. I literally don’t know what to do anymore other than to leave a bad review & let you all know that I wouldn’t bother with them.

Slow - beware. I sent some money to my TW account from my European business in Ireland to my Australian personal account. They received the money but held the transfer and asked me a completely nonsense question: ‘what is your relationship with certain Australian politician who happens to have the same surname as me’. I replied ‘no relationship’ and explained the purpose and origin of the transfer. Also emailed them and called. At each stage I was told it will be resolved within two days. It was not. TW make is easy to set up your account and then imply that you’re good to go. In my experience you are not good to go. It seems like they only really start checking once some money comes in. This takes time and they do not seem to want to hurry even if you hassle them. If the transfer is time critical then you are screwed. I would suggest that anyone considering using this service should start with a very small amount well before they actually need to transfer anything important. Otherwise your money could be in limbo for a week or more. This has been my experience with TW. So far I still don’t have the money I remitted almost a week ago. I expect it will work out but the delay and lack of feedback is a deal breaker for me. I will be setting up a regular EUR account with my bank for future transfers.

Incessant questioning about a possible scam. Moving money from my business account with Wise to my cheqing account for the same business with a bank, have to go through multiple confirmations that I am not being scammed. What an annoyance and waste of my time!

They hold your money for weeks. They will hold you money for weeks, whether you want to deposit or withdraw. Customer support is same as having nothing.

Money transfer. Up to now your app has been excellent, but on this transfer I give you 0 star, as Wise has never notified me that my monies have arrived in my account even tho they arrived a day later!!!!!. On my app it still says sending money

The best option. Best fee structure, cost effective, great design, reliable

Exceptional. Indispensable for international travel

Rate. Late transfer due to problem on side of wise, finally received today and I think I should of got at least todays rate. Would of been better off to cancel and redo.

Ok. So is ok

Keeps glitching. I keep inputting my birthday but it says I’m under 18 when I’m not, go back to check and it resets my birthday to a random date. I go back to change it but it’s the same problem over and over again. Issue needs to be fixed

Rates are not as transparent as what is claimed. Transferwise claims that the exchange rate you get with them is as transparent as it can get, and that one can check the rates on internet and it will match their rates. While it seemed to be true for the initial few months of their app, it doesn't seem to be the case anymore. They claimed to me that they use the Reuters mid market rate. I challenged it, and their own customer service sent screenshots showing how they were giving a rate worse than Reuters current rate. So if Transferwise rates are manually fixed, and they charge a fee on top of it anyway, why should any one use their service instead of free services that may give similar rates? Disappointed!

Tremendous sending money App. Before i sending money to my country,i was donwload several apps to compare the currency exchange rate n the fees. Then After all Transfer Wise has so much better one than others . N here i am still with wise

Misleading and Not competitive. I end up using PayPal which gave me better rates. The comparison page on your website is misleading.

Perfect. Everything work good and it’s very simple

Trapped by the app abroad. I was recommended by a merchant to try out Wise as a cost-effective app with the best exchange rates. So, I signed up for an account. However, I encountered an issue when I didn't have network access to receive the 2FA code via SMS or call. The app suggested using WhatsApp as an alternative, which worked initially. I successfully loaded $600CAD into the app. However, when I attempted to make a payment, it requested authentication via 2FA code again, but this time, there was no option to receive it via WhatsApp, the only two option available are SMS and call. As a result, my $600CAD is now stuck in the app, and I'm unable to retrieve it. :(

Fast. Rapid

Unreliable service, do not trust Wise / Service déplorable, manque de fiabilité. Wise a perdu toute crédibilité à mes yeux. Soyez prudents ! ————- Beware of Wise! I deposited money into their platform to make a payment, but it never worked. Even worse, they refuse to refund my money despite my numerous attempts to resolve the issue. This is nothing short of theft. I promise this matter will not end here. Wise has lost all credibility in my eyes. Be cautious!

New update. Same currency bank transfers charge a fee now???

Wise disappoints. I have been a strong advocate for Wise for the last seven years. No more. I wanted to transfer USD. Firstly it was impossible to add an email contact. Secondly I was told I can’t transfer USD without having the banking details including the SWIFT code. The email method was so much easier. Wise took something that was simple to use and secure and turned it into a complex nightmare. How sad and disappointing.

Garbage service. Closed my account when I used e-transfer instead of the usual direct debit to add money. They definitely need a competitor app.

Poor and unreliable service. I tried two transactions this month: the first appears as done but money is not in destination account after 6 days waiting and second one was cancelled for no reason. Go to Remitly... easier and cheaper

Amazing. Amazing app so helpful! Just be aware of cash advance fees from credit card

Shut down acct - limited appeal and no reason. I have an account i use to send money personally. I didn't break any of the rules in the list. Im not a criminal. Just a normal person sending money to persons overseas. Shut down acct. Ability to Appeal is super limited and no reason given, to even dispute.

Confusing wording and flow of steps. Chaotic!!. Confusing wording and flow of steps. Chaotic!! Lots to improve on, for sure!!

Nao paga. Já entrei em ctt enviei e-mail e nenhuma resposta

Too much problems. Too much problems Support is not that good

Shut my multi-currency account down. Wise decided to shut my multi-currency account down based on assumptions, making their service completely useless to me. Gave the usual ‘the decision if final, customer service cannot help’ pile of crap. All because of notes I put on transfers to help me keep track of things, and they didn’t like the lingo. Good riddance! I’ve found better options to replace the most important services

Slow transfers. ...from Wealthsimple Cash.

Transfer never received. Very disappointed with this app. The first time trying it and the transfer I made was never received by the person in the other country. Asked for refund and poor customer service, didn’t receive my refund.

Took money from my account LOST IT ALL. I transferred from Wise to email, they did not accept the etransfer in time. MONEY IS GONE FROM MY ACCOUNT AND I DID NOT GET IT BACK!!!!!

Save your time and nerves.. Do not use this platform for serious financial transactions or business. You'll save your time and nerves. There are reliable banks for that. Utterly disappointed after 7 years of use. Good bye.

Transferred money that no one can trace where it went. I would never use this app again I rate it 0 I lost my money

What a scam!. You have to pay $30 to activate the account, then it’s not useable until you pay another $42. This is so ridiculous for an account that is advertised as $0 No Fee.

Best product. Best service ever. Great product.

So bad. I have been waiting for the transfers I have made from the bank for months to be transferred to my Wise account. I reported the problem by email but they did not solve the problem and they closed my account. This place is definitely not safe.

Complicated app and hard to use. You are better off getting a travel credit card than this app. I used my full name in the app but since my bank account had my full name in capital letters it didn’t recognize it. But the app would not let me upload any of the verifying documents and it took me two computers and three restarts. Then it denied my documents and even made transferring my money back a hassle. The fees are also AGGRESSIVELY high. Don’t waste your time or energy on this app/card

Amazing. Just wow

Wise. So far I really enjoy Wise, it is super easy for money transfers and I don’t like carrying cash so it’s very good for travel overall I’m quite impressed. Some of the fees could be better, but at the end of the day still worth it.

Bug introduced. I’ve been using the app successfully for some time. Updates have added a bug to the system. That’s very frustrating. After a direct payment, I get put back to the page where I select how to make payment.

Great Travel Till. Very happy with the added flexibility and security.

Absolutely terrible. I am very disappointed, 10 days to receive this transfer and you stilll gave me the lower rate. Not fair. If the rate had gone down you would have given the lower rate. But even though it was your fault for the delay and the rates went up, you still gave me the lower rate! Very disappointing

Not safe. I had opened an account, put 30$ on it- and someone had charged my card already????? What’s going on ????

This app is just garbage. Been trying to receive an urgent cash since 19th of November, today is 27th of November and the cash is still pending… please don’t download this

Account closed for not using wise.. I used wise maybe once in my time having it, recently I decided to log back into my account and my account was terminated? I haven’t used wise at all, and my account was shut down without reason and then rejected my appeal? Do better.

I guess I’m 120 and not able to get an account. I put my birthday in 07/27/06 and it says I’m 120 years old or not old enough

transfer. Very bad ,because still wait.transferin yapıldığını bana döylüyorsunuz ama hala para hesabıma yatmadı

Still waiting for a DOMESTIC transfer after 2 days. Yep. From a well known US bank to USD wise account. Same currency. Keep being told to “wait” when every single resource I check says it takes one business day. It’s been more than 48 hrs Keep calling and talking to customer service and they just keep telling me to “wait” Apparently my money is lost in the ether. It’s my pay too so this is extra fun. Never had issues with them up until now but this is absolutely ridiculous. Will be following up legally if I don’t get my money by today. Unacceptable. Thanks for ruining a small business’s month, wise. Well done

Cancelled a transfer without notifying anything. The worst experience with Wise. Needed an urgent fund transfer and wise cancelled it without notifying anything. Such an irresponsible app. Not even deserve one star. 😡😡😡

If you are a Canadian or someone who wants to transfer from Canada. DO NOT TRY THIS APP. Complex and non-Reliable Money transferring App/method you will ever experience. Call support is only for UK business hours. Poor Instructions for Required documents. Simply Time consuming process - Local banks charge extra and they are safe and faster than TRANSFERWISE. Not recommended for CANADIAN Customers. Required documents - consist of all non related documents which is mandatory here. POOR UI in iPhone X Deleting this app for so many misleads and errors

The new update has bugs. The new updated version has taken out the adding HKD feature. Wise does not provide the receiving bank detail anymore thus I cannot add HKD to my wise HKD account via direct debit from my own named HK bank account like it used to be!!!! Please fix the bug!

they stole your cash. never use this apps at least you like to get robbed I make to transfete from my bank to my wise wise tooke cash but never put in my balancw be aware They will never refund you and thwy never answer answer baxk tob

Horrible interface for setting up. To start using you need to deposit money. When you still can’t do anything you find your account setup is incomplete because you need to do the deposit and verify yourself. However, the app gives no direct button to do so. You need to start a second transfer; unless you hunt around on the app. Such hunting involves looking at your pending transactions. When you do this you find that the transaction is stuck and you click on “fix transaction”. Then you can follow the steps to photograph your id and your face. After all of that you are still stuck waiting, but it doesn’t directly tell you why unless you futz around more to see that you need to wait for them the finish the verification. What a non transparent way of operating.

Wise is a class act. Wish I didn’t need to pay a company fees to transfer my money across borders but here we are. The fact that I’m leaving a 5 star review for something that I don’t want to do in the first place shows how excellent this app & company is. The app is extremely effective at doing something that ought to be simple yet is complicated by our antiquated banking system: getting some cash from bank A in country Y to bank B in country Z. And it does all of this with competitive fees that are presented clearly and honestly. And their time estimates are always very good, my transfers always go through well within their predictions.

Awesome!. I can not praise TransferWise and their AP more and no this is not a fake review. I have been trying to transfer money from Europe to the US for months without any success with regular banks who blamed each other for the problems and would not work with us to find out why the transfer was not working. TransferWise worked the first time and moving funds from one currency to another was so easy. There are fees but the exchange rate with TransferWise is much better than any traditional bank will give you. Every time I sent a question to TransferWise they responded very quickly and also have fast service when you call them as well. The AP is well designed, does not freeze or crash. If you need to work with funds in multiple currencies TransferWise is the way to go.

Unable to receive direct deposit. 3 stars because this is the first app/bank that could not receive my companies direct deposit. After the direct deposit was made customer service couldn’t even tell me where my money was or give me a timeframe. Also they mention it’s ok to use this bank name for direct deposits that alone sounds odd. Of course you need a bank name for company direct deposits. Only my company verified my salary bounced back one hour after I talked to wise customer support who couldn’t give me an answer. My advice to wise, get a better partner bank or strive to be like cash app which pays you 2 days early. Even same day or next day would be decent. The current climate of wise maybe 50% you will receive your salary 2-3 days after payday is unacceptable.

Terrible at moving money. Wise, really used to be a great tool to move money since I’m living in Europe. It’s better than having to go open up another account and do all the work and move through obstacles just to get an account compatible with getting things paid for overseas. However, the past year it’s gotten worse at allowing you to move money. I move money from a U.S. account to my wise account to pay my rent and bills. Always around the same time. I used to be able to move all the money at once, but then I started having to move it into two separate transactions. And even now, just trying to make ONE transaction with half my rent and utilities, and Wise makes it so hard and it takes forever. It really throws off my ability to pay my rent on time! What gives? I really used to like you, Wise. Now I’m about to get rid of you because you have become useless.

Great idea, very poor UX. I use transfer wise and I love it, but double security system just does not work . The notifications come to the top of the screen on your phone but the transferwise app does not see it. It is impossible to login to the transfer wise app as it sends the notification to itself and you cant access it. So unless you can verify yourself through mobile sms every time you try to log in , you are locked out of service . The problem comes when you are travelling and your sim is not available and of course the help line works mon-fri standard working hours .. Well I have your app on the phone , what is it actually good for??? Good for nothing really , but it says online if you delete it you ll be locked out of your accont .. Anyway, way to go guys with the UX

Need more information. I have used this app several times over the last few years and have been completely satisfied. However, I had a very frustrating and time consuming experience trying to transfer money from my US bank account to someone in Italy. In short, it boiled down to not being aware that when you use a debit card, ere is a $1000 limit every 24 hours. Instead of a notice in regards to this, I kept getting a message that there was a problem with my bank. After speaking with support at TF, I was made aware of this. It may be in he fine print that there is a $1000 limit, but who reads the fine print? TF needs to fix this problem by making this limit clear.

2nd try with Wise. This is my second time using Wise. The first time I was a little disappointed with the transfer speed. This time indicates it will be faster, though it remains to be seen. I needed to add to my Wise account before sending and Wise seems to have accepted funds added to my Wise account before it shows being deducted in my bank account. If funds arrive by 11 am tomorrow morning as it claims I’ll be happy. Wise did indicate Western Union would be cheaper. It over estimated the rate Western Union would give. I didn’t do the exact math but the difference seemed to be less than a dollar in cost and Western Union is hit or miss with its speed of delivery so I’m trying Wise again since speed is more important to me and the cost difference is negligible.

Easy, convenient, affordable. I have been using Wise for over a year as my daughter is studying abroad. The ease of use in moving USD to her home currency cannot be overstated. It is a really convenient, digital experience with the right level of alerts and info on the transaction status. I wish all financial institutions were as thoughtful on their user experience! I also have the debit card and use it extensively when I travel outside of the US. Again, Wise understands what country I am in and takes the money from that balance that I have established for that currency. No complaints from this user!

Unreliable. The app is generally good and easy to use, and I have no issues with its functionality. However, transferring funds from my bank accounts (I have accounts at three banks) and then having access in my Wise account is what’s unreliable. I contacted Wise, and they suggested that the delays in my funds being accessible is likely caused by my banks. I disagree for the following two reasons: 1.The funds are debited from my account and sent to Wise within 24 hours. 2.For a few weeks every every couple of months, the funds are credited to my Wise account almost instantly after being debited from my bank. However, during other periods (the majority of the time), it takes 6-7 days for the funds to be accessible in Wise. This inconsistency is extremely frustrating, especially when I need to quickly transfer funds to my wife living abroad. I have a feeling Wise might be profiting from the delays, but I cannot be certain. 🤷‍♂️

Do not recommend. I had to download the app to make a deposit for services abroad (Europe), and while the app came recommended, I had the most difficult time transferring money from my bank. After almost a week of waiting for the initial transfer to go through, I had to cancel this first transaction to correct the amount due to fees and conversion coming in much lower than expected. While they appear to give you lots of different options to transfer money to the app, I could not get any of those options to work besides wiring directly from my bank. Wise then said I would get my full refund, but in reality, I received only 40% of my total back. They claimed my financial institution had additional fees but they refused to show me receipt of these fees. Truly a scam if you only need to use this once, the hassle is NOT worth it.

How is this so highly rated?. Maybe they bought all these reviews. This app has been nothing but a disappointment. I’ve only attempted to send money once with this app. This was two weeks ago and it still hasn’t gone through. It’s been extremely difficult to get their support to actually reply to an email and when they have they haven’t provided any info on why it’s taking so long. update: Their developer reply to my review is just as useless. They have no shame trying to shift the blame towards me. They state that they likely didn’t receive my money which is absolutely false. If they didn’t receive my money why did the app state that they had received it and my transfer finally went through three weeks later after I put them on blast on Twitter? Apparently that was the only way to get their attention. They also suggest getting in touch with their support. Which I already stated above I had tried and they took several days to reply. & I had to follow up several times to get the same useless canned replies. While my transfer finally did go through three weeks later, it seemed it was only because I complained publicly on Twitter because their support was so horrendous. I received several twitter DMs from people who said they were experiencing the same thing. I absolutely do not recommend using this app. They very clearly are having problems keeping their operations up and running smoothly.

Really a life saver. I use this app all the time as I live in the USA and my wife lives in the UK often. I often have to transfer money into her account and this provides a very quick and inexpensive way to do that, very difficult to operate between the two countries otherwise. This app is really a lifesaver. And it’s quick. Also if we have work done on our house in the UK this provides me a way to pay that person which saves me having to wire money to that person’s account. I just want to add…I’ve been using this app for at least 7 years and the latest bank transfer took 6 seconds! I’d say $7 to transfer $1100 was a great deal.

True FinTech disrupter! Great App. I have been using the app for a few months now as our family lives across three countries (SGP/HK, UK, US). The ease to transfer money between own accounts as well as to third party accounts makes the app a pleasure to use. Highly competitive pricing and - if ever needed - a responsive and reachable customer service team make this app a real FinTech disrupter. Banks should work like this and be ashamed that they can’t offer the same speed of service (never mind price) as TransferWise. I have also been a beta tester of the TransferWise debit card and multi currency accounts and am impressed how easy retail payments are across currencies. Last thing missing are direct debits and banks should be truely scared

Best Way to transfer money internationally. I don’t even understand any of the bad reviews because I’ve had an excellent experience with TransferWise. Wayyyy better than Western Union that allowed someone in Africa to log in my account without sending me and email alert and that person took all my money out my bank. And better than Remity even though I have an account with them also. But I’ve been with TransferWise for 8 months and everything has been smooth. Went from having to wait 3 days for my money to be sent to it being sent within 10 minutes without them taking money out of my account first. I have the card with them and that’s the only issue I’m having as I can’t take money off it while I’m in Nigeria even though I have everything turned on for me to take money out, but I can say I still can transfer the money I have on my TransferWise card to my bank card and still use it. So this is the only thing I hope the company fix. I love love love the app and I highly recommend using TransferWise to send money at a cheaper rate than Western Union and Remity.

Horrible Customer Service. Do not use this app. This is the only financial institution that will block access to your card without properly reviewing their own policy! Their customer service is the worst and is in no way comparable to real banks like Chase or Wells Fargo. They disabled my debit card because I informed them I gave it to my parents to use in Korea. Their policy clearly states that you can have authorized users, and the account holder will be fully responsible for all transactions. Knowing this, I approved my family to use the card. Even after their agent made a mistake, there was no apology, and I was threatened with blocked communication or termination of my account. As soon as I found out this company can put a block on my account for letting my parents use my funds, I pulled all my money out. There is no need to threaten me about where I can keep my money or who I can allow to use it.

Saves me $30-40 a month!. After spending a few months trying to deal with the alternatives, transferwise has been a total lifesaver. As someone who transfers money to the UK to pay bills, transferwise is cheap, fast and convenient. Western union is super user-unfriendly, costs upwards of $30 and requires someone in the other country to pick up the money in person. Wells Fargo is completely terrible for transfers; the process is unwieldy, prohibitively expensive and they took a week to tell me there was an error and the transfer didn't go through. Transferwise is a fraction of the price, and it usually goes through in a day. The app itself is great, easy to use and provides a real-time exchange rate so you can decide when the best time is to send your money. Once I had an issue with the rate not updating; I contacted support and within a couple of hours they told me to log out and log back in, which fixed the problem. So customer service is great. I can't emphasize how much transferwise has done to streamline my life and ease my finances. Highly recommended in general.

Horrible App and the website is worse. Tried to send money like most and it keeps telling me that I need to be verified, YET, doesn’t let me know what else is needed. Sent photos of my ID, which I assumed verified me, tried to make another transfer and it’s “Pending Review”. Kicker is, they already initiated taking the funds from my account. Didn’t get an email saying the transaction had been initiated! To me, that’s stealing! You claim to be treated like a bank, yet you moved money without the proper checks and balances. Furthermore, it took some digging on this horribly designed website to find a number to call. Once I did, the rep said their system has been taking awhile. Seven hours from when I attempted to submit, still no email explaining the delay! It would then, according to the rep, take another 3-5 business days to verify due to their volume. NO! How is this acceptable and absolutely not transparent at all! REPORT THEM!

Takes TOO LONG!. This app is shady! I have been sending money for years and never experienced that much frustration! I gave it 3 tries as I thought maybe I was just out of luck due to good reviews! But after third time, I can assure you this will be the longest and worse experience you will have sending money! I made immediate debit payment after all my transactions. The first and second took 5 days. The last one I sent on the 14th and still haven't arrived! It is showing another 15 hours so I am guessing it wont arrive until tomorrow at least (they keep changing status!) 7 days! In that period dollar has gone up 10 cents, and, if compared to their high fees it is the same as sending anywhere else! All times when I contacted customer service they want to blame it on my bank. Except that everywhere I send money I never experienced that same problem! I definitely DO NOT recommend this app and will CERTAINLY NOT give it another try!!!!!!!!!!!

The BEST!. I live in Detroit and my boyfriend lives in Toronto, so with all the back and forth I decided to open up a bank account there. Turns out it was going to cost me an extra $40-50 to transfer funds from my Chase account here to my RBC account there. Using TransferWise I believe it was only around $5 and I had the money converted & deposited in my Canadian account within 24 hours when the estimate was 3 days. I'm obsessed with this app for making it so affordable and easy to convert my funds. After all, it's MY OWN money that I'm sending back and forth! From me to me! I shouldn't have to lose 50 bucks with every transfer. Thank you TransferWise for your fair prices and SUPER EASY user interface!! I friggin love this app.

Doesn’t display current market rates. We frequently transfer money internationally, often trying to take advantage of fluctuations in the market. To do this we need to be able to see current rates easily on one page. The problem I have with this app in the inability to that. The addition of this one feature would vastly improve the customer experience. Also, Wise has a “compare rates” function, which shows how much money you save sending with them. However, since I have several forex apps, I can actually compare rates and those shown by Wise falsely show them in a flattering light. If you simply want to transfer money this app is fine; if you want to send at the best rate, it’s not great. Also, we don’t need to receive money from foreign sources so that function not applicable to us.

The worst money transfer app - Not user friendly. This is by far the worst money app I’ve came across. I used the app years ago and it was not intuitive at all. Recent events required to me to download it again. Not only that the system didn’t improve, I think it got even worse. There is nothing intuitive about this app. We did a test transfer. It took 4 days to arrive. I have my bank account information added, but the fact that I have to add myself as a recipient and add my bank account again it’s not intuitive it’s inconvenient And not logical. Any other app like PayPal, the money lands in your account and you can simply transfer it because your bank account is already attached to your account easy Peezy and there is an actual button make a transfer. Using Wise is nothing short of frustrating.

High learning curve. This was my first time using the app. Once you learn and make mistakes then it gets easy. But there’s initial high learning curve just because if you make a stop to grab your driver’s license or take time to retrieve your personal information it asks you to start over or show an error message. I made multiple unnecessary transactions with fees each time. If you go back one step it gives an error message or ask you to take photos of your driver’s license again, every transaction. I expected once I post my information, including a selfie it will store it so I don’t have to keep taking pictures for my ID for every transaction. No clear way to know when the deposit will be received as the time status keeps moving from 3 seconds to 3 days.

Great customer service. Due to some miscommunication with the people in the other country, my money didn’t come through. And then I was a big slacker and waited about half a year to investigate. But once I contacted customer service at Wise, they responded quickly with very clear instructions. Once I presented the documents, they found my money and got it to me quickly with no issues or hassle. Honestly, some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. Also it’s pretty easy to do the transfers yourself on the app if you don’t miscommunicate with your people. I highly recommend this service. It’s fast and affordable and the staff is very kind and helpful. Shout out to my main rep Ataro, who was very prompt and kind. The other staff was good too.

Andrey. Low fees- Basic customer service! 3 days of back and forth emails just to get verified (again). The customer service provided link that didn’t work. A day later they sent another link which also didn’t solve the problem. Another day later, a few more emails… BOOM I was able to upload a pic of my ID. Your representatives did not take the ownership of the problem. Guys, you have a great app (theoretically), it works smoothly till it doesn’t. Maybe you should focus less on low fees and more on how to help people to solve their money problems faster? It’s not like I’m buying a fig tree online and can have a casual email conversation over days about delivery. I am in a foreign country and I’m relaying on your card. Calls from roaming can be costly, Live chat (with humans) is a must! Please, use my case as a case study and educate your people on how to respond efficiently and provide specific information that actually helps to solve the problem. Thank you!

Money transfer to Mexico. We use Wize on a regular basis and a happy with the service. One issue we have is repeated transfers that are held up until the previous transfer has settles with the bank. In many instances we are paying labor obligations or living expenses and cannot draw on our account until all is settled. I propose you evaluate the amounts of transfers from our account and after review extend the pay period to two or three “pending settlements” Give us our money at the end same time we sell our dollars to to you .That way we would have our money when we need it the most!_

Great overall but. I’ve used Wise for a few years now, only occasionally. I’ve mostly been satisfied but I once had my e-card hacked. I contacted customer service immediately and they advised me to cancel my card (I did not have funds in my accounts at the time, so I did not have to try and recover any). When I asked how this might have happened, I was told hackers try combinations and sometimes hit correct ones. Not sure if that’s a legit explanation. Anyway, I’m only using my physical card now. The app used to be great but feels like playing a video game now and is less intuitive to navigate. Why would they pay developers to revamp an app that does the job and make it worse in the process is beyond me - worse app, higher operating costs… This is not a good sign.

Transfer issues, disappointing results. I’m an international student, so i do not work my family cover my academic fees and also the living expenses, as you know when you pay the academy, you pay big amounts of cash through installments maybe every 5-6 months, mine didn’t exceed 2’300 euros. So wise froze my transfers/account asking for source of income i had a couple of Westrn Union invoices that states my information as they requested yet the refused. And WISE has a very nice future where i can withdraw cash from my family members account and that is what I usually do. When I contacted customer support they didn’t help what so ever…bottom line is that I’m sooo disappointed with wise I’ve referred it to many of my friends unfortunately after this experience I won’t. This whole case didn’t make any sense. Wise you’re losing costumers fix this issue!

Worst App Ever. Don’t waste your time with this app because it is a scam. They hold wires with no reason, I had a wire held for 10 days because they couldn’t check the name of the person (Asian Name) what was very ridiculous. The customer support is even worst, they cannot solve anything by phone and ask 2 business days to their “team” (I am sure they haven’t one) to check your problem. This 2 business days will become 4 or 6 or even more. If you even try to add money using your own card they will reject and say it is your banking problem when the card was never even declined on your bank side. Last time they asked to give them another shot but total waste of time.

Best money transfer app and A+ business practices. I use this for my US business to pay non-US vendors plus to send money to my non-US fiance and it is by far the best. Fast transfers and great rates. And the verification process isn't torture like for many other financial services platforms. How great are they? You can check to see how their rates compare before transferring. Before my last transfer to my fiance they show me Xoom actually has a better rate and up front say "Hey we like to be honest and right now it seems you can get a better rate elsewhere." I almost just finished the transfer with them on principle, but I happened to already have Xoom set up and had been wanting to try them out. Process was easy with them and i deed I was saving like $40. Cut to a few days later the morning my Xoom transfer was supposed to hit. I get an email from Xoom saying compliance flagged this transaction and cancelled it. Email so-and-so if I've think it's in error. No explanation. No we need to validate XYZ. Horrible customer service. So I pop back over to Transferwire, enter in the transaction and my fiance gets the money SAME DAY. I was blown away. These guys rock. I'll never use any play from again regardless of rates.

Account locked after money sent-AWFUL. Unbelievable. I was on this app for less than 24 hrs while attempting to pay for items to a small business in South Africa and purchasing from the United States. They have been patiently waiting and when I went to check on funds that had been sent I was told my account had been deactivated. Wise has all of my info, the credit card, the money and I can’t see my account or talk to anyone. They say “they can’t give a reason.” How can I solve this if I can’t know the reason??? Unbelievably horrible first impression and since you’re used by businesses around the world and promoted by podcasters (which presumably you pay for) you’d think that money would be better spent hiring more customer service so people can get their business done. Horribly disappointing and your lack of transparency and help is affecting a small business in South Africa. Shame on you.

Excellent Tool to Eliminate Bank Fees. As a regular remitter, TransferWise takes care of two common grievances: fees and, if needed, communication with the wire transfer back-office. Using TransferWise, neither delivering nor receiving bank charges a fee. This is particularly valuable when dealing with a small bank that uses a bigger bank as an intermediary. Typically, the small bank offers you - the customer - all kind of free services, but the bigger intermediary bank, which doesn't know or care about you, slams you with fees. TransferWise is both sending and receiving "financial institution" and eliminates the bank fee nonsense. My saving per transfer (not counting the exchange rate) is a whopping 93%. If there is a problem, one can speak with a service rep - in effect someone in the wire back-office - which is impossible in the banking world.

Account Deactivated Without a valid reason.. I am from Maldives and I have submitted all the Documents you asked and you guys have already verified my account. But without any warning you guys de activated my account and My friend’s account too. I have never seen more fraudulent platform than TransferWise. You have already asked us if we want to send more money, we can add it to our wallet within several days if our bank has a limit. But it was just a scam so that the user will add more money to their wallet and out of nowhere there comes a Mail from TransferWise saying they have deactivated my account. Yes this is frustrating. And I hope everybody knows that this platform is not safe and is a scam so do not try to send money abroad because they will steal your money when your wallet amount reaches more than 2500$ and they will deactivate your account. Yoosuf Majeedh. Maldives.

The best money transfer app that I have ever used!!!!!!. I want to take my time and appreciate how much I love this money transfer app. Not only the process is super fast, but the fee is also very affordable as well as easy and quick for the recipient to receive the money. At first, I doubted this app might end up as the same as others like Xoom, Remitly, Paypal, Moneygram, Western Union, etc. because those were not good and it turned out to be very annoying and difficult to transfer money to someone. However, this specific app surprised me when I started to try this and I really loved how fast and easy to use. I have had nothing to complain about TransferWise so far and I hope that it’s still doing a good job. Highly recommend!!!!

mostly a good service but 2 important flaws. update: talked to TW support several times about the important need to be able to download individual transactions, payments, currency conversions for tax purposes. they refuse to implement this simple function. you can only download monthly statements and then need to blank out all other transactions. this function is so simple to implement, I don't understand their stubborn resistance. Bought sthg. in the US with the TW Mastercard. Was surprised that TW then used my UK Pounds balance rather than my main EUR account balance for the charge. I need to invoice in EUR and now I am stuck with a UKPounds charge. Turns out, you cannot set a main account (e.g. based on residency, EUR in my case) in TW for foreign currency purchases. That is a real flaw and makes the TW platform inadequate for professional uses. update: there is no function for downloading a proper receipt of a particular transaction. hard to believe...

NO!! Don’t trust themmmm. I was trying new apps to send money to my friend and someone he knew suggested this one. Okay. So I start a transfer of $350 to him. They say it’ll take 2 hours. It changed and took 3 days to hit their system. As soon as my money went into their app, they deactivated my account and didn’t complete the transfer OR refund it. Their website said it may take a few days to refund, so I wait. I call customer service and they say “we refunded 9 days ago and cannot disclose why your account was deactivated we are a small team” meanwhile they’re super noisy in the background and keep telling me that my bank must have a hold on it. I report it to the bank and they say that 1. They cannot reimburse me for a shady app and 2. There was no refund from transferwise or holds whatsoever. Still trying to figure out how to get my money back or if I even can. Don’t trust it, seems like a very shady and fraudulent app and needs to be reported.

I’m worried they stole from me. I tried to send around $2000 to my Korean fiancé. My bank stopped it initially because they didn’t recognize it. After clearing it with them I ran my card again, which they accepted quickly. After they received my money they said they had to do some “extra security checks”, although that’s paraphrasing, before they converted it and sent it to her. It was like that for a day. I tried to log in that night but my account was deactivated! I COULD NOT LOG IN! They had a window come up saying to look up my situation on their website. Their website said they can’t say exactly why if I call them, but that they had an issue and decided to deactivate my account. I haven’t been contacted by them, I haven’t gotten my money back in about 4 days, and I’m not happy. I’m honestly worried they’re stealing my $2000! So yeah, I’m never even considering using their “services” again. Screw you TransferWise.

It does some things great, but. I’ve had my account about a 18 months. It does person to person international transfers of money very well. I going on an international trip and wanted pay for my hotel using the wise card. Transferred money to hotel’s currency for a fee! Transaction failed. I believe the computer can’t negotiate different currencies. It saw a number, (greater than $2000.) and immediately thought it was over the transaction limit. I got charged a fee to convert USD to the foreign currency. It still wouldn’t pay my hotel bill. I to use my credit card. I was charged again to convert foreign currency back to USD. And charged again to put the money back in my account. Not sure if it’s worth it, even if you stay within the $2000. per transaction. What if distinguish between currencies. Maybe it will do better as a ATM card only. Very disappointed.

Great once it is set up. It took me a month or so to successfully set up an account. Customer service was helpful to work through the issues I had. Once that was finally completed the app works great. Today I was able to upload money from my checking account, convert it to another currency, and initiate a transfer to the recipient in a matter of minutes. Literally less than 5 minutes. The fees were less than a wire transfer from my bank which would have taken at least two days to complete… and no fees or poor exchange rate by the receiving bank. No guessing about how much the recipient would receive.

Amazing , simple , efficient & friendly. So, I’ve been looking for an easier way to transfer my funds from my Canadian account over to my US bank account. I some how stumbled across this app and my god, was it such a quick and painless transfer , it costed me around 41 CAD to get 30 USD , which is amazing, money saver for sure, and it only took a few business days! I also ended up messing up my bank details, which I contact the customer support via email, and they switched the information for me THAT DAY! I’m literally not joking when I say that this app is a life saver, thank you SO much for the easy transfer , and I will be sure to refer as many people to this app if they are in a pickle about transferring money over seas. Once again, thank you so very much TransferWISE 😍

Good App - Terrible Customer Support. I use this a lot and generally it’s great, fast and efficient. However recently I went to make a transfer and was asked to verify my account AFTER MONEY HAD BEEN TAKEN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. Keep in mind I’ve done multiple transfers to this account before. The verification failed for God knows why and my funds are being held hostage. I sent an email to customer support, no reply. I tried to call, no answer. I entered the chat support, they told me there is nothing they can do to help me an I have to wait 10 BUSINESS DAYS to receive my funds back. ARE YOU INSANE!?!? I get paid from my job faster than that. First: you have to tell people that they need to verify their account BEFORE taking their money. Second: if you can take my money instantly you can return it at least in a timely manner Third: your customer support is terrible and does not care about your customers.

Best transfer service ever. In many occasion, I’ve tried to send money to relative in Brazil... sometimes successfully but mostly not or long delays... I’ve heard about this from an employee of another company ( competitor) as they could see how desperate I was to find a solution. So I decided to give it a try. Originally they said money was going to be there in 2 days, so I tracked it many time a day with the app ( very easy) and less than 2 days later money was on my relative bank account... what a relief... if I had doubt before, based on my past experience with others ( bank, WU, money gram), now I’m convince... and I’m not talking about saving... this is another very positive element... we get better guaranteed rates and less fees... what can you ask more..... Great tool to have

Very unsafe. I’m not gonna over exaggerating with my experience, nor am I not recommending not to use this app cause the concept is very well and they dont make you feel scammed like paypal with their fees. The safety of transferwise is pretty much non-existing once the money has “transferred” to the receiver, therefore there’s no safety. I recently transferred roughly $200 (first time user) and the payment was never received to the receiver. I’ve contacted the support-team who were fast at replying, but they kept giving me false hope on investigating my case and try tracking down my money. It’s been over a week and I haven’t felt any support, therefore I’m considering requesting my bank to chargeback although it’s most likely impossible. I’m not here to blame anyone or get the truth off my chest, I’m simply showcasing how their safety is non-existing and how sometimes the receiver claims to never have received anything.

Fast, efficient, easy, 1000x better than OFX, WU. I used OFX twice and if was nothing but problems, slow, multiple verifications required, on and on. Nothing but problems, delays. WesternUnion assumes you’re sending money to a scammer and continuously blocks your transfers, requiring a phone call to verify it’s really you. Completely unusable. Transferwise (now just Wise) is easy to use, just set up your accounts and transfer is fast, often in seconds. Multiple options given to draw money from, use your savings, checking accounts, credit cards, etc. It’s perfect to send money to other countries if you’re sending to a bank account. Best international money transfer service!!!

If only I can give it -5. I processed a transaction that was supposed to be received the next day, but after I confirmed it the app said it’s going to take 10 days and there was no option to cancel it or do anything. I called them, the guy said it’s because I didn’t verify my account when I created it 2 years ago. Well Mr “wise” your system should remind US to verify our accounts and to cancel a transaction instantly if the account is not verified instead of leaving your clients like that. I didn’t even get another email from wise asking me to verify my account to proceed with the transaction. I had to call them to understand why it’s going to take 10 days and then I asked them to cancel it, the guy said I have to verify my account before I cancel it (before they issue a refund). PayPal’s Xoom is much better than this app, these guys don’t know what they’re doing and their app is as horrible as their “policies”.

Terrible service. I have used Wise in the past with no problem. I recently had to reconnect my U.S. Bank account. No idea why! I could only do with micro deposits. Try to initiate a transfer, said it would take 4 business days. IT HAD STILL NOT SHOWN AFTER 6 business days. It said I could have the transaction happen faster, if I tried a different method, but instead issued A DUPLICATE transfer! I had to cancel that, as my bank alerted me. I called and asked the original transfer be completed. After seven business days, it had not gone through and the app showed it was cancelled. I called to ask what the problem was?!! I was told that I had canceled the transfer- ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT! I had called the day before to make sure it would go through!!! I could not understand the person who was talking to me, asked to speak to a supervisor and was disconnected! I’m through!!!!

Reliable, trustworthy and simple. The first time I used TransferWise I was nervous about transferring my money to an unfamiliar account, but I needn’t have worried. The app quickly updated to let me know where my money was and how long the process would take. Before I knew it, I had received my transfer and everything worked just as planned. Now I have made about a dozen international transfers and it’s fast, reliable and so SO much cheaper than any other currency exchange option. Even better, after setting up the first transfer with my bank everything is even faster now. Thanks TransferWise for solving what was an annoying problem for business travel and oversees family. 5*

Quick and easy money transfer US-Brazil. I usually transfer money from my bank account here in the US to my bank in Brazil via a wire transfer through my regular bank here. The problem? Hefty fees, often crazy conversion rates, and about a week of waiting until my money arrives there. TransferWise seemed too good to be true, but I downloaded it anyway to try it out, setup everything and transferred some money to my account in Brazil to see how it would work. It was exactly as promised. They told me the exact fees upfront (waaaaaay cheaper than my bank’s wire transfer) as well the conversion rate. In less than 24 hours the money landed at my account in Brazil, with them keeping me informed of every new step along the way. Terrific service. Bye bye bank’s wire transfers. Hello TransferWise!

Fast, secure, and best rates. As an international student I need to do quick transfers between my family internationally. This has made transferring big transactions (such as to pay tuition) way faster, reliable and save a lot of money that I can save up for other things (like food) rather than wasting big chunks on large conversion/transaction fees from bank. I really love this app, it has made everything much easier. Also, my parents are not too good in tech so they can just do a regular transaction to me like if I had a bank account back home. Then, just convert it to USD. Thank you so much TW! You just save me not getting a late fee on my rents and tuition! And also tons of money 😋

Funds take 3-9 days to arrive. If you are sending funds to a friend and it’s not urgent this is a cost efficient and easy to use option with a competitive exchange rate. If you are paying team members or need funds to arrive in a timely or consistent manner this is a BAD option. I’ve used for business purposes for several years and put up with occasional technical issues and a lack of customer service and came to expect funds would arrive to my intended recipient in 4-7 days even though they draw on my account same business day. I currently have three transactions that have been held by Wise for 8 days (all coming from same US bank accounts and to people I have paid for over 2 years) that are still unpaid and no status update other than to say it’s taking them longer than expected to receive the funds. Can’t wait for crypto adoption by my team so companies like this will discontinue these practices or be out of business.
