Good stuff. Pretty good overall, great for working out ideas and short programs. The UI could use a lot of work - confusing elements, odd layout, too many menu options, and weird tab navigation

Great stuff and has potential!. For writing a program on your phone in ruby, this app is great. It's not the best application in the WORLD, but it has to potential to be. Download it and give it a try. It's totally worth it.

poor UI and translation. I haven't used Rubyi enough to give a proper review of its technical aspects. However, I can say that the user interface is horrible. It's too flashy, cutesy, and counterintuitive. The English translation is very, very poor to the point of being a distraction. The author should see another similar app, Pythonista, for an example of a much better (and very professional) UI.

Happy. It's a nice app and I'm happy for its functionality. But I knocked off one star because it is a bit confusing.

Best Rubyi app!. Been using the older version and the new update is solid. Worth it to skip a coffee and pay for the features

Autocomplete. I'm learning but this looks good and I want the autocomplete feature so, there ya go.

Great Way to Learn Ruby. I am not a coder by trade and was interested in learning Ruby so this app has been great for me. Easy to follow and easy to use. Love it

Dislike. This app is a toy. It does not have mono spaced font where it matters, it is full of eye candy, bugs, and is quite slow.

Functionally a gem. Can run ruby from iPad which is fun for non laptop situations. Recommend for ruby beginners!

Best app so for. Ruby is such fun that when I have down time, I like to play around with it, and often down time occurs at times that I'm away from my computer. This program is great for trying things out and learning. Nothing else like it on the iPad compares. I hope more opportunities to use Ruby with apple products continue to present themselves.

I like. I enjoy your apps. I am not a fan of the amount if double/copy apps you have as it makes the selection confusing, functionality wise though I am pleased.

No tech support at all from the author. Hi all, I run this app for less than one month. I have to admit that it is the best ruby app on ipad so far. But it is strange there is no tech support at all from the author as I tried to contact him a while ago and never receive the response. Recently I find out the app cannot run script of more than 100 kb size and I have reduce my file size in order to run it. Does anyone out there see this happens ?

Incredibly annoying. I'm a Ruby developer, and I really, really wanted an editor like this for my phone. However, I couldn't bear this one for even two full minutes before deleting it. The app is incredibly busy--ugly callout boxes with a lousy font, no standard controls (e.g. swipe left & right to switch "tabs"), and worst of all, animated snowflakes in the background. Yes, there are settings to turn nonsense like that off and change colors, but the whole experience just left a very bad taste in my mouth. Avoid this one.

Great but,. The 'System Of Learning Materials' is all Japanese... Not helpful at all. Other than that, this is loads of fun to play with and very helpful for me!

Interface Needs Work. I love having Ruby in my pocket, and this app works fine. But the interface is cluttered, counter-intuitive, and leaves great room for future improvement.

Useful App. I'm new to Ruby, so I don't have many demands for this app yet. So far it seems really good, it allows me to write Ruby and run it in class. The most advanced thing I've done on it might be inheritances, and the app works really well. I would recommend it for newbies and students.

Learning ruby on the go. I'm using this little gem while I'm on the train or just waiting in line, working through the exercises in Chris Pine's Learning to Program book. Love it!

First in its class. I have been waiting a long time for a good iPad ruby editor. I eventually gave up and started learning lua. Now I can get back to ruby! Thanks for creating such an awesome tool! I hope an ad free version becomes available for the .99 range.

Amazing, until this year. Interface is quirky, but app works amazingly well. Allows you to write and run ruby programs with no network connection. Unfortunately the app crashes on opening since the latest iOS update. I hope it gets fixed.

Good. It keeps giving me a popup telling me to rate it with five stars in order get auto-complete. I don't care about auto-complete, and if this application wasn't freely available I would have something legitimate to complain about.

Adequate but Great Example of 0 UX. This provides for writing, building, and running both interactive and non-interactive Ruby programs all on an iOS device. The UI is terrible but it is usable enough ...until someone fills this market area with a product that does same with a properly done user interface. This is a great example of developers who think they know enough to make apps that are usable by human beings without actually learning and then applying even the already there to be used without taking a course simple guidelines from Apple re apps. This UI is a MESS.

Annoying and Unpolished, But Decent. Had lots of useless and stupid features like a FLASHLIGHT and web browser that are enabled by default...cannot use autocomplete unless you give 5 stars...dumb. English translations are terrible, whole app looks ugly and unfinished. It's not the best but it's the best there is

Worthwhile. A great way to test out your ruby script and memorize the language. I believe they also made an app for Python that works equally brilliantly. A good app all around although it may need color change to see certain functions clearly which can easily be done in settings. A good app :)

Used to be good, but developer is removing features and adding Ads. Developer has added a ridiculous internal 'coin' system and cluttered up a once decent app. Most recent updates remove various features, requiring additional purchases to re-add, and removing other common file transfer features used by many other applications, while claiming 'Apple review requirements' have made him remove the file transfer features. Will not be upgrading, and don't recommend the new version until many older features have been restored and the new stupid 'coin' bloat has been removed.

Too confusing. There are several clone apps on the store by the same author and another (rubi ide fresh edition by Na Chen) with same functionality but different price model or slightly different look - why is apple allowing this nonsense. The app is cluttered with crazy stuff like coins etc and is not intuitive. The author should look to play.js app to see how to present a professional looking and respectful developer environment.

Great work. Shame the tutorials aren't in English but still an excellent tool to learn the basics or Ruby programming.

Great start on ruby. I am currently trying to Lear ruby on the go and found this to be a great tool.

Good. I couldn't design an uglier app even I tried to. The thing is however, it somehow interprets and runs Ruby locally, making the app 100 stars.

Great apps. Très pratique!

Worst app ever.. This app is completely useless. Not only does there not seem to be a way to execute Ruby scripts (and even if there were, what version of Ruby is it supposedly using?), but the interface is extremely convoluted and the colour scheme is distracting, at best. Half the app is also in Chinese. The author clearly put very little time and effort into this app, and, as a free app, it's not even worth the price. I have no idea how this app got accepted into the App Store. Bottom line: don't waste your time with this garbage.

It's actually pretty good. Most other idiots like tck(see all reviews) won't understand the interface. It works and is fully customizable :) it's really nice. The creator did a good job in my opinion.

Awful. This app lasted less than 5 minutes on my iPad. It's full of ads, it's unintuitive, it's cluttered. Bad UI/UX. Considering 5 star reviews, it could be better, much better. I wouldn't know, this app was frustrating to navigate or run Ruby.
