Qld Fire app. This has always been a great app - and a "go to" for firies. However lately I’m receiving notifications every few minutes for the very same incident. Very annoying for busy people. For Balberra - 29 notifications- and still counting… For Septimus - 8 Whilst I understand I’ll receive a new notification when details change…currently, this is not the reason. I hate to turn the notifications OFF as the app is important. If you can help with this - thanks kindly.

Like the app but.... Like the idea of this app but in the last month or so I am getting notifications for fires from 2 weeks or more ago but the notifications for new or current fires are not coming through. Would love the opportunity to have a siren of some description for new alerts near me as a different sound to FB alerts that I generally ignore. Can there be a different alert from fires in relation to trucks not being at fire station as I nearly had a heart attack when a “fire” broke out in Gympie (several times), turns out it is just when the truck is out of the station. Lastly less confusing info about the fires eg. the fire at Black Snake (Kilkivan) states that there are multiple warnings for this fire however I can’t find more than one warning which relates to a very small area and had to go to Facebook to get more info but had to sift thru a lot of other fires to get the info I needed. Just want to say that you are doing a great job, just not sure if you knew of these glitches.

Not impressed. I just bought this app minutes ago. So far not that impressed. Could be useful to create a watch zone “other” than only where you currently are. Also the rain radar needs work, seriously. Hopefully the team behind it do some improvement.

Nsw and Qld Fire app. This qld Fire app is currently not working I have been to Telstra and they assure me it’s the fault of the app. I have the app but it will no longer load info I re installed my address and it won’t accept it. How can I know where these fires are I also tried the nsw fire app and it’s the same I don’t know the names of a lot of places and I have been looking at the map on the app but not working. I have had these apps for a few years with no issues but I’ll now. Pls inform me of what I can do to make these work again thanks

Information font too small. Pretty good, just can’t read what the information is in. IOS as font is way too small and can’t be zoomed.

Comprehensive. Definitely top notch for information after the latest update!

Useful App. I like being notified when a fire is within a certain radius of our home. It would be helpful though if it was clearer in the app as to what the different colour fire symbols stand for. i.e. a blue flame? Or a yellow flame? I just take a guess but have no real idea.

Very good. Logical interface, well designed and very useful. I would give this App 5 stars if there was an auto alert notification in a Queensland zone of interest. Keep up the great work. I shall be very pleased to promote this App when it is upgraded to include a fire alert notification function.

Was good to start with. I really used to appreciate this app giving information on nearby fires. However recently the developers added road crashes/rescues, and the app pings constantly. I haven’t found a way to switch off the notifications for crashes, and so this app has become very annoying. I’m thinking about deleting it altogether.

Useless. Absolutely useless... fire 20 minutes from my house, radio station was reporting on it, did not apear on the app.... waste of money and absolutely reckless for them to promote

Fantastic App. Well Done on this App!! Wouldn’t be without especially this time of year. Currently watching 2 fires 12k from us. Watching number of trucks arriving, etc. Thank you very much! Have recommended to several friends....Cheers to you and the RFS!!

Great App. Great informative app. Can be slow or freeze completely when moving from maps back to main page.

Very happy.. Can’t delete self-picked watch zones Id’ love to see a distance legend ruler thingy near bottom left that adjusts to zoom, especially if one is unfamiliar with an area. Menu idea; personalised state and local emergency services contact and check lists, put in info ourselves, nothing private so it can be shared with locals and tourists who also have this app.

This App will literally save someone’s life. With all the fires burning round us, this app has been our go to source of information as well as the QFS If it hasn’t already it will save someone’s life by providing clear close to real time information. Worth 100 times it’s price

Fantastic app. We are having a severe bushfire season. Thanks to this app, we are always informed and up to date about the fires in our area. The watch zone feature is particularly useful.

Needs information about status levels. Firstly, thank you for the app. As I travel in a caravan I really appreciate it. The app needs an explainations of what each status means you need to be doing. “Information”, “advice” and “notification” sound reasonable similar. And what are the pink dots that have suddenly appeared on the map? Could you include a list explaining what each status level means please? The status that the NSW “Fires near me” app use ... “out of control”, “being controlled” and “under control” make it immediately clear what is actually happening. This app also has a map legend explaining the symbols on the map.

Great update. New update brings it into line like the other states with the same mapping detail and icons used for fires. It seems all bugs are fixed, like the constant map freezing and freezing from changing from map to data. Looks great and Scrolls effortlessly.

Recent use of qfire. I recently worked with another firefighter who had qfire on his phone. It was amazing, I downloaded it for my personal use. I believe that it is a very valueable tool to have on the fireground and for more information about what is happening around the state. Five stars from me!

Back button not working. Hi. Anywhere there’s a back button it won’t work. Settings, more info etc, back button does nothing. I have to go out and back in to get back to main screen.

Dave. Such a valuable app to have as before you would look at the smoke plume and wonder how far? How big? how intense? And should I leave or stay? Glad I have it.

Good but requires fixes. The app is quite good, however, the ‘watch zone’ function does not work (it will delete the watch zone you enter off its list within minutes. Additionally, you cannot search for a location by entering an address, you have to search for a location in the map which is cumbersome).

Fantastic app. This app is fantastic! We do a lot of camping and travelling around our part of the world SE QLD and found that this app provides great live information and the watch near feature is also outstanding! I would recommend this app to anyone

Fabulous. Get notified immediately of a fire or crash in your selected area.

Keeps freezing. I have just downloaded this app and am unable to use the map or anything there after because it freezes up. The only way to exit is to close out. I wouldn’t have spent the $2 knowing that it is otherwise useless to me.

Peace of mind. I am loving this App, the alerts, it’s helping me feel safe if I’m in a position to evacuate. Thank you for all your updates & hard work in keeping us all safe. It’s an absolute horrendous season & only set to get worse.

Qld Fires. Since I just downloaded it yesterday, it's still early days, but so far, this fire position app looks pretty spot on. We'll see how it performs over time!

Don’t waste your money. Limited Information, poor data that leads to incorrect location details, no links to the QRFS. Waste of money.

Repeating notifiction. App generally very good how ever at this time I am getting a repeating notification of a permitted burn in my watch zone. It is not registering on the list or map and just keeps advising of the incident. Really annoying.

More information. Look at theNSW app. It gives the size of the fire. Great information if u are close by or travelling. With QLD app no information. Just the location. Please change and update.

Highly recommend - simple, informative, clear. Love the map view for understanding what’s going on, and the ability to set a watch area & get alerts when fires happen close to home. This app was recommended to me by a QFES worker, very glad to have it.

Sadly it doesn’t always show areas in the lockyer valley region. The lockyer valley seems to be a blind spot when it comes to this app there is a fire atm which is about 5-8 kms away and ems is in attendance yet nothing on the app it’s been going for a while given that end are there. This is often the case for fires in the area and road crashes where fire trucks are in attendance out here nothing appears on this app

Informative but a bit confusing at first. It’s a really good app but some technical terms are not explained, such as FRP. You see them every where and in the first 5 minutes you are in panic mode thinking them as actual fire...!!!

Lives depend on the crappy app. Knowing where a fire is and what the current advice level is, are important bits of info which could safe a life. Pity this app won’t be able to help you in a crisis. It freezes every time I click on the fire tag to get more info about a particular fire. I then have to close the app and reopen it to get info about the next fire. Can’t be too hard to fix. New bug fixes seem to be released very infrequently.

Great App, but continuously freezes. I’ve used and recommended this APP to others over the last 4 years, but recently it seems to freeze, you can’t do anything with it, I close it down a re-open the APP, but it does it again. I also use Fires Near Me App, whilst it doesn’t freeze, it doesn’t give the same level detail of information (number responding vehicles) which I require for my job. Can someone please look into this?

Sound. How can I improve on sound alert or change to different sounds love the app

Notifications - app closing. Is there a problem with this app? I am able to open app but as I’m reading or go into map the app closes??

Deleting watch zones. Great app for me. If you unintentionally set a watch zone and can’t delete it tap the watch zone and set a KM value save then delete it

Good info… but keeps freezing. A very important app with good information. However it often freezes when viewing maps which is very frustrating.

Ridiculous- and dangerous.. Downloaded this app after reading all review of ‘brilliant!’, ‘must have!’ and ‘essential!’. What a load of tosh. Have had around 10 notifications come through for fires in my area, only to open the app and there’s no information there. Look out the window and there’s smoke everywhere, can hear the fire trucks - but there’s NOTHING in the app!! Do we evacuate? Stay put? Catch our animals and prepare? Who knows!! Certainly not the app!! It’s reckless to have an app like this. People pay thinking they can rely on it. What a joke. It endangers lives when developers fail to follow through on apps like this one!

Glitches. The app seems to have developed a few bugs especially trying to delete watch zones or set up new ones. Getting told “ unsuccessful, try again later” This problem remains unresolved months later. In addition I know that there have been a number of fires that are active through Fire Com Northcoast that do not appear on the app.

Easy to see. Check travel routes in an instant, no matter where we are, makes planning a breeze!! A small issue, some town names are not available when in the map mode Thanks for the ap! Adrian

Now I know what the Fire’s do all day long!. Wow, not sure how to react to the ongoing barrage of fire alerts that pretty much represents how inbred our SE QLD population has become. QLD Fire and Rescue, and our incredible volunteer Rural Fire Brigade, I don’t know how you do it.... Seriously though, in these bleak and mostly catastrophic fire condition times, information is everything and this is exactly what this app gives. Well done, a brilliant purchase and our Fire’s Rock!

1 address?. I want to enter a future address of where I am moving to in a month but it keeps reverting back to my current address which I didn’t even have to enter, it just pinned me here but it’s not even the reason I got the app! Really silly. I’ve looked everywhere to change it and haven’t been able to. Happy to change my review if I can be shown where to do this.

Fantastic!. Explore the information, you can set a perimeter and the app will alarm you a fire is in your vicinity

A great app but…. This a great app and should be on every Queenslander’s smartphone. However it drives me mad - you’d think the new entry notifications would disappear when you open the app, but they don’t, so you never know if there’s a new fire in the area. Sort of defeats the purpose of notifications when you have to keep going into the app to see what’s new.

Reviews are rigged.. No where near as good as the vic fires app, which is odd as it’s the same developer. “Nearest fire” is hopeless, we are near Gympie (Cooran) & nearest fire takes the map inland from Brisbane! Can’t set a watch area either, we could on the Vic fires app so not sure why this QLD version is so short of working useful features? Very disappointed.

Has potential. Some good features but needs some work. ‘New’ fire alerts are good but what about updates esp alert level updates. An evac notice was issued on the wkend but nothing from the app...???! Some description of colour coding on Sentinel info would be good also. I love the idea of the ‘watch area’ but what does it do? I look forward to the updates. If you could get QFES to provide timely and useful info that would be great too🤣 Also; in settings pls allow a change of alert ‘noise/chime’. I am an RFS member... the difference between a FB message and a possible fire alert is important! Further (if poss!) are you able to over ride my ‘do not disturb’ setting? This could allow me to be at the truck before i receive a ‘call out’. If at all possible have a look at the info which was available via the old ‘Emergency Aus’ app. It was REALLY GOOD. One final essential (but wishful!) thought... fires dont understand lines on a map. State borders are irrelevant! ( yes i have Fires NSW app but really???!... see my review there)

Daily fire status updates. The app is a reasonably good tool to use, however there is a severe lack of daily status updates on the reported fires 🔥 Please fix ASAP.

Thank you. I would say I enjoy this app BUT I am very grateful for this app and the ability to be able to see where fires are. I own horses that where being ready to be evacuated previously due to fires. Thanks to this app I am able to check regularly if there are fires in the area they live and get them ready to be evacuated if necessary m.
