Medisafe Medication Management Comments & Reviews 2026
Only one thing missing.... This is a wonderful app, especially for those of us who struggle to maintain a medication schedule. When you forget to take (or log) a dose, it sends a notification to a user-determined contact (or multiple contacts) alerting them to your missed dose. This is great, BUT could be made perfect by allowing you to manually (or, preferably, automatically) send that same contact a second alert/notification when you end up taking the missed dose. Sometimes I’m napping and miss an afternoon dose...my friend gets notified that I missed the dose and ends up worried about me...when I wake up I take the missed dose (maybe an hour or so late) and log it in to the app...but I have no way of telling that friend, “Hey, don’t worry, I just took that dose!” Now, you might say that I could simply call or text that friend...but some people’s illnesses and/or disabilities are such that they avoid any direct social interaction some (or all) of the time...and this is why it would be amazing to allow the user to have an option (a simple button?) to notify their friend that the missed dose has been taken at the time the missed dose is logged. Otherwise, a perfect app! Thank you.
App saved my life!. I don’t usually take prescription medication but have had to recently due to medical complications from an emergency hospital visit. When I do I usually research the med and it’s side effects. Even in my research I don’t always come across every interaction it has with other foods or meds. Seems like more meds keep getting added to my care every other day. My doctor called me this afternoon with a new med based on some lab work. No mention to interactions with my current meds. My husband picks up the meds from the pharmacy, no mention by the pharmacist of any interactions. Load the new med into the app and check for interactions and critical alert and red is what I see. Immediately call the pharmacist and not only could I not take the med at the time I was planning, I can’t take it with 2 of my other critical meds. If it wasn’t for this app I don’t know if I would have found this interaction on my own but my doctors and pharmacist most certainly should have. With my vitals and current condition there was a high chance that I would have stopped breathing in the middle of the night. Thank you seriously! This app is amazing and I will keep using for every family member and love I can use it when I go down to just my supplements.
Phenomenal Med Tracker. Medisafe is one of my favorite and most useful apps hands down. Medisafe is perfect for reminders to take meds and I have mine set to remind me twice per day. What really shines for me is I have multiple prescriptions and I use the app to track how many pills I have for each one. The app automatically depletes your stock as you take daily meds and will remind you to refill prescriptions at a set number of remaining pills. Then it is as simple as adding the new number of pills to current inventory. This feature has eliminated running my stock too low and is especially useful for tracking multiple prescriptions. Another useful tool that I use is the diary which I use to document any medical events that occur making it easy to review my notes to share with my doctors. This is the perfect medication tracking system for me. I can’t imagine what life was like before I started using it.
Extremely Helpful. I appreciate how helpful this app has been. I initially downloaded bc I needed a constant reminder about taking my meds until I could push a button that said I “actually” did. What I discovered with this app ended up being so much more. With taking so many meds it’s hard to remember what to take when. Some require I take so many hours after taking another. Or not eating so much time before or after taking it. Or take with full glass of water, take with or without food. It gets confusing. I was able to make my own schedule as well as put those notes in about each one. It also shows a picture of the pill so I’m grabbing the right one out of the pill case since they are all together. Pill cases are great but not everything falls under the am, afternoon and pm schedule. I also enjoyed watching a video about the pills I take. Oh and I forgot, I was also able to forward to a friend of mine so he gets alerted after awhile if it recognizes I haven’t taken them. I can’t say enough about how blown away I’ve been with the app and all of the extra surprises. I have forwarded this app to everyone I know taking medication daily. THANK YOU to the creators for such a well designed and useful app.
Helping me Live Longer. I have to take two medications which are essential in my health and more precisely in my living. I have tried a number of tricks to take essential medications for maintaining my health. I done a pretty good job for a number of years but as I aged it became more difficult to maintain the schedule. My daughter is a Pharmacist and I was taking to her about my fear of missing doses. She recommended your program. I have maintained an almost perfect schedule sine installation of your program. My only wish for this program is if I was allowed to program my own tone as a reminder. The tone with the program is of pills rattling in a bottle. I am a farmer and hard of hearing. I seldom hear the alert sound. I have hearing aids and when wearing them I can hear the reminder tone. Working with equipment around the farm I seldom wear my hearing aids on the farm. Thanks to these folks I may get the reminder late which is better than never. The alert flashes on my screen repeatedly unti I cancel it so better late than never I do get my medications taken 99% of the time. Thanks for a wonderful tool in maintaining my health.
OK, but not great. While it helps me remember to take my prescriptions, the interface for the app seems confusing and even convoluted at times. Several times it’s felt like there were several separate groups working on developing different parts of the interface, but they didn’t talk to each other. For example, the add-on information about heart health is great, but it seems stuck in the middle of something else. It also seems to pop-up whenever it wants to. It feels like the heart info team didn’t talk to the other teams. I have one Rx that I’m supposed to take 1 or 2 tablets/dose. I’m reasonably sure that there’s a way to enter that into the app, but I’ve given up. It’s common for drugs to be prescribed that way. It should be simple and obvious. It shouldn’t require several trips through the documentation. It doesn’t help that the documentation reads like it was developed by yet another team who weren’t talking to the other teams. Or that confusing features weren’t actually fixed and clarified—it seems like the documentation was intended to put a band-aid on the UI and to explain at length things that are basic to the app. Please, please, please start over with a focus group who aren’t familiar with any part of the app. Give them simple tasks. If it takes too long for them to figure out how to complete the task, the users aren’t dummies. The app needs work.
AMAZING.. [Writing this on May 14, 2023] I hardly EVER leave a review on ANY app (I can only think of one other app that I have expressed my praise for), but I needed to for this one. It is so helpful, especially with the repeat reminders every 10 minutes if I have not yet taken the medication(s) (which is ESPECIALLY helpful due to some of my mental health issues). (I also like the little “have a good week” and “have a good weekend” messages they give at the start of a new week and the weekend.) I also really appreciate the detailed birth control scheduling, so that it can also include the inactive/placebo pills at the end of a cycle. I also used the app for a course of antibiotics, which I had to take twice a day, and was able to set it to remind me at two separate times in the day (12 hours apart) and have it stop reminding me after I had taken all the pills in the bottle (I just had to enter how many pills there were in the bottle at the start of that course of antibiotics). It was also very helpful to see my adherence percentage for that course of antibiotics because it was very important that I had taken them at the scheduled times and had not skipped any. I know this was very long, but I just wanted to share how much and in how many different ways this app has helped me manage all my different kinds of medications and to make sure I am taking them on time. Thank you :)
Spins and spins. I recently started using this app. It seemed to be working well until the last couple of days. Now, when I open the app, I get the popup ad for the premium subscriptions. When I try to close it and do anything else on the app, it just spins and spins and spins. I do get the notifications to take my previously entered medications, but it’s difficult to edit or look at anything when the app doesn’t do anything but spin. Very frustrating and annoying. Update: So I gave up and decided to pay the monthly subscription fee. I thought maybe the annoying popup and the spinning circle would go away if they got my money. Thought maybe that was the gimic. But, sadly, that didn’t help. I don’t get the annoying popup about the premium service, but the app still isn’t working. I’m still getting the spinning circle of doom. I can’t mark my medications as taken or even edit my timeline of meds due. Please fix this! This app was working until a few days ago when the annoying popup started to appear. So obviously the latest update is NOT working and needs to be rolled back!
Close but not usable for me. This app is so close to being exactly what I need but not close enough. I love the pill box interface but I don’t take pills four times a day, I take them six times a day (with breakfast, mid morning, with lunch, mid afternoon, with dinner and at bedtime). As it is now this app forces you to organize your pills into four predefined boxes. It needs to allow the user to set the number of boxes, define/name them and also to set a time range for each one vs a set time. I don’t eat lunch at exactly the same time every day so a reminder going off at exactly 12pm -hit snooze- go off again, etc. would get very annoying really quick. Users also need the option of making a pill “skipable” when they set it up. Not every supplement I take needs to be taken daily. My background: I have a rare autoimmune disease that I am trying to reverse naturally, using numerous supplements as part of my healing protocol. Some must be taken on an empty stomach, some with food, some once a day, others multiple times. The app as it is now is unusable for me. I am currently using Pills Ping because it is the closest to what I need though I do like the look and pill box interface of this app much better. If the above changes are ever made I will definitely switch.
Good app but needs enhancements. The app does a great job at what it’s supposed to do - track complex medication schedules, dosages, etc. I love that it allows me to customize a schedule - 2 pills for 10 days, then 1 pill for 10 days, etc. Some things for improvements and enhancements: - Stop sending reminder notifications once the meds have been marked taken on any device. My husband will mark something taken, I’ll get reminders on my device, and log in and see they’re already marked. There’s a disconnect between taken status and notifications when using multiple devices/users, but we share caretaking responsibilities. - Allow more notification customizations - I keep getting notifications to add appointments or doctors, but we don’t use the app for that. Even with premium, I’d like to opt out of some types of notifications, or set it for med reminders only. - setting up multiple users/caretakers was not intuitive- it took us a few tries. I wish that was a little easier and facilitated more than two caretakers for a person. - allow message management in the “updates” module. I can’t delete them or mark them read without opening each, and that little red dot is not enjoyable.
Almost a perfect app. My daughter and I take lots of medication. The one thing we struggle with is calling in refills on time. Anyone who take lots of medicine for an indefinite period of time knows that taking meds on time every time can be a challenge. Some times we have more medicine than we need and sometimes we have less. (Spilled our meds a time or two) Anyways, I love the app. It helps us with daily reminders to take our meds and helps me remember to make sure my daughter takes hers. The one thing that could be better is the refill reminder calculation. For example my daughter only takes one of her meds only on the weekends. She get prescribed anywhere from 30 to 90 day supply. The issue is that the start and end date option doesn’t take into account for the frequency. If I know my daughter has a 30 day supply and I select specific dates like the weekend, it would be more helpful if the end date counter would reflect the number of specific days and not just everyday. Sure I could pull out a calendar and count the weekends until I reach 30 but I feel like that defeats the purpose of the feature. I a hope future update can fix this. Did I mention I love the app :) Thanks
Very helpful app, two issues. I’ve been using this for a week and Medisafe appears to be a well done app. It was recommended by a pharmacist when my wife started a vast regimen of pills to manage a bone marrow transplant. I like the layout and the medication info and the simplicity of having the app keep track of it all. That it keeps the history is also great. The two issues are: 1) the pill box views do not update to “today” when you open the app. It always shows yesterday until you close and reopen. Seems like a bug. 2) this may be related to the first item. The reminder message/pop up does not always continue to remind in some cases. This morning after the first reminder, and I closed and reopened to get the pillbox to show “today”, the reminder never reoccurred. It wasn’t a problem in this case because I knew the doses had been taken. I was able to check them as taken as usual so no problem there. Overall great app. I think the bugs will get taken care of. 🤞
Easy to use, reliable & convenient. I've tried other medical tracking apps but Medisafe is my #1 choice! I take a lot of medications at all different times of the day. My afternoon medication times are typically when I am out and about so when I hear the chime go off I know its time to take my meds. I only miss doses if I don't have my phone on me. It has been a life saver! If I don't take some of my meds I definitely suffer. Medisafe has been so helpful. I had a very pleasant experience with Brian at customer service. I had used the free version for about 4 months. I recently became a BCBS medicare member and one of the benefits of their Blue365 program is that its free to upgrade to the premium version of the app. I did have to create an entirely new account but he spent a long time with me troubleshooting until we could make sure there was an email account associated with the medisafe account. He was so nice and thorough. I highly recommend Medisafe, both for the app and their customer service!!!!
(Suggestions)I LOVE this app. Suggestions are here review is below. - Add different pain trackers, your current one is good for overall pain but bad if I want to track a few different symptoms that include pain. For example I wanna track my knee pain, my headaches, and my neck pain, but cannot currently do it separately. Add that separation ability. - Add different pill sizes. That way you can enlarge your pill or even make it smaller. Good for same colored pills that look exactly the same except for their size. Not a necessary feature but a good one to add. Very good app exceptionally for me because there have been multiple times where I forgot wether or not I have already taken my pills, so I had to not take them just in case so I don’t overdose, and so maybe I missed a few doses. With this I don’t have to even worry about memorizing. As soon as I take the pill I mark it down. Easy. I also love the fact that the pills that this app doesn’t have I can still put on there because you can customize your own pills! Great feature that a lot of other apps do not include. Love the fact that I can have all of my appointments on there as well! Amazing! I can have all of my medical reminders in one place! Also thanks to the creators for actually reading the reviews! I have noticed that a few features were added that other people including myself suggested! Good job guys! Wonderful app! 10/10
Medisafe: very useful with a few caveats. This app has really been a great help to me in managing my elderly mother’s medications. When I realized that I was reliably giving her meds to her on time every day but often forgetting my own, I dug a little deeper into the app and quickly learned that it allows you to enter both your own meds and those of a dependent. One problem I noticed - I don’t know if it rises to the level of a “bug”, but it is an annoyance and a source of errors- is that when it sounds a scheduled notification that it’s time for meds, it doesn’t necessarily pop up the correct user profile. I take me meds at 7 am, and the notification sounds at that time; but it puts my mother’s 9 am meds in front of me to be marked as taken, and I must summon up a menu to manually select my own profile in order to mark them correctly. There are many notification sound clips from which to choose, some of which are excruciatingly annoying! That, however, is a plus, as I find I’l do almost anything to avoid hearing Dr. Evil nagging me to take my meds!
I Like This App, But…. Just today the developers cut down the number of free measurements from 6 to 3. Perhaps the 6 measurement model was not restrictive enough and was not pushing folks to pay the fee for the professional version. I only discovered this when I went to change one of the accessible measurements. I turned one of the 6 off and added 1 other. When I clicked to exit the settings is when I was informed via pop-up that the limit was 3. Now, this restriction in and of itself is not terribly bad considering I can do all of the measurement manually in the native health app. Nearly all of the health data I port to the health app is via Bluetooth enabled devices. Although it would be nice to add some missing data through this app from time to time, I have absolutely no need for any of the other features offered for the $40 annual price tag. To make this app really useful it should allow as many measurements as the user wants to have access to. Measurements which can be manually added through the native app should not be a pay-for in this app. I am sure there are many folks who would pay a premium for multiple users. The rest is fluff. I’ll use it for a while for mes management but will continue to search for something else.
Perfect app. Before getting this app, I forgot to take my medication frequently. Since then, my yearly adherence report (which this app tracks) jumped to nearly 100%! The notifications are flexible, so you can put in multiple reminders for different meds, reschedule, and change them easily. You can also get very specific with the meds you input, to the point where the color and shape of the physical pill matches the icon. You can also do a variety of other medical needs. Vitamins, shots, etc. I love the additional safety measures, like the interaction report that shows you things that could potentially react with your medication. My favorite feature is probably how you can notify another person of your meds. If you’re forgetful, or even refuse to take your medication some days, people of your choosing with the app will be alerted. Very good. This app works for me, someone with only 1-2, non life essential meds to take, and my elderly grandfather, who has many different shots and medications he must take at multiple times a day, at different frequencies in the week.
A Very Tight Piece of Kit…(Actually, It’s a Digital Dumpster Fire!). I’ve been searching for a solid med-tracking app for a few years now. My casual perusals became much more serious and focused when I was diagnosed in August, on the same day, with Stage IV cancer and diabetes. I need an app that will remind me, inform me and, if necessary, rat me out. Medisafe fulfills my brief nicely. It does exactly what it says on the tin. I love the inclusion of a functional native watch app, this greatly enhances the utility of Medisafe. My only wish, is that Medisafe was a 3rd party data source for the Siri watchface - that would definitely put it in a much higher orbit! *UPDATE 9 APRIL 2022: I have completely given up on this app. MediSafe has become too unstable to run on any of my devices. At this point, the only consistent feature of this app is that if it’s launched, it will surely crash. This is far from ideal for a mission critical, paid for application. My numerous attempts to interface with Tech/Customer Support to a successful resolution of the issues had yielded no positive results. I now voting with my feet and my wallet — taking my money and my attention to Pill Alert (an app that ACTUALLY WORKS!). Please heed my warning and Run Away!!!
One step away from deleting. Have used this app for quite some time now, and have more or less enjoyed the improvements and enhancements. Along with the improvements, I’ve also seen the app become noticeably slower and buggier as its complexity increases. I lived with it though, because I came to depend on its core functionality. I have - until recently - considered Medisafe a 5-star app. Now…I feel I’m being overly generous with two. Then the app began intruding with messages about adding rheumatoid arthritis. And I DO mean intruding. Every time I opened the app to do something the RA massages would overlay the screen and I couldn’t dismiss it. Then the ‘spinner’ would appear, and the app was effectively locked up, and all I could do was kill the app. Over time the RA massages stopped appearing, but the spinner appears now every time I open the app, and takes several minutes to disappear, though at times I’ve had to just kill the app because it stays locked up for so long. Now that the iOS Health App will track my meds like Medisafe does, I’m considering deleting it. I’ll try this latest update, but if it don’t fix this unresponsiveness I’ll have to take that step. Really hate to abandon an app that I’ve come to trust and rely on, but I just can’t deal with how poorly the app works of late.
So close, but wishing for one more function. Medisafe is perfect for me as it helps my obsessive behaviors and forgetfulness. I am busy and my mind sometimes wanders and I forget to take my medicine. The only problem I run into for me is not seeing a report of my past refill dates in conjunction with how much medicine (pills, etc.) I had left at the time of refill. Example, I have five pills left on the date I refill my 30 day supply making me have 35 pills as of the day I refilled. Why is this important for me? Because even with the refill button, refill reminders, and daily reminders to take medication, again I forget. So if I forget to notate that I did a refill, and I forget if I took my medication, I can look at the report and see what my last refill date was prior and how many pills I had as of that date. Then I can do the math and remember. It would also be helpful to see on the report how many pills I had left after I took my daily dose. But I love the simplicity of this app. For 98% of the time it keeps me on track with my medication.
Different options for scheduling. This app has actually been working great for me, but I have one issue. I would like the option to schedule for specific times in between doses instead of at specific times of day. I take stimulants for ADHD and need to take them 4 hours apart. I don’t always wake up at the same time every day to take the first dose at the “regular” time, so I constantly have to remember that my next reminders are going off too early so I don’t take it too early (and then need to remember later when to actually take it on time. Very hard for an ADHD brain.) This could potentially be dangerous, like today I took my first dose 1.5 hours late, forgot about it, then took my next dose “on time” according to my alarm, which means I took my next dose 1.5 hours too early (and now my head hurts). It would be great if I could schedule how many doses a day, how much time in between, and when I’d like to start them in the day. That way if I take my first dose later than scheduled, all the next reminders are pushed back by that same amount of time too.
Best App Out There!!. I’ve used this app for almost 3 years now and it is the best medication reminder app out there!! I love it because it does so much more than reminding you to take your medications. Everything you need to keep track of is nicely organized. Adding your medications to the med cabinet and being able to see any interactions between them is a great feature! You can log which Dr’s prescribe your medicines and their specialty (i.e. Sleep Specialist) which is amazing when you have more than 1 Dr/Specialist. Reminding you when to call in a refill is another amazing feature. You can log any symptoms your having, your vitals and more. This app also lets you create another profile. I never thought I would need to. But my dad was just recently diagnosed with cancer. So I was able to create a profile for him and keep track of all his medications symptoms and appointments in addition to my own. I couldn’t ask for for anything better! Thank you so much Medisafe! Your a life saver!!
Use it every day. Wish it had a few additions/changes.. I use this app every day to track my dogs' medications. I wish I could add an account for myself without having to pay for the pet account, but here we are. Despite that, I would love to see a small image – similar to the ones used to describe the pills or medications people take – for the medications my dogs are on. For example, my dog is currently taking two medications: one for breathing and one for his heart. It would be helpful to see a heart icon next to the time he is due for his heart medication, like "5:00 AM (heart)," and a lung icon next to the breathing medication, like "7:00 AM (lungs)." I know this might seem like a small detail, but it would help me keep everything organized at a glance. Lastly, it would be incredibly useful to have an option for cut pills. My dog needs to take a quarter of a pill, but it's only listed as 0.25; I find "1/4" much easier to understand when it comes to his dosage.
Please add more med alerts. I really like this app. I can check my medications and if I took one already so I don’t accidentally overdose. Everything is mostly with this app, there’s just one tiny problem that I have. This app doesn’t have that many medsafe alerts. It has a lot of stuff like politics and adult shows. I think it would be really nice if you could add your own medsafe alerts like with your voice or a sound or something. That way, the sounds can be for kids too. Right now the only kid sounds are Finding Dory and Starwars. I think an option to import your own sounds and create your own alarms would make it more interesting and fun for all ages. Either that or add more kid sounds like kids shows and movies like Disney movies and stuff. I just think adding more sounds will make this app more fun and useful for kids and teens, like myself. I really do appreciate this app and everything it does to help you get back on track and take your medications but I think that adding more sounds would make it even better. I really would rate this app 5 stars but I just really think it could be even better. You don’t have to add this if you don’t want to but I think it would improve this app and make it even better than before.
Love it. This a fabulous app for med management. Especially for people like myself who take many different meds...and tend to easily forget exactly which ones we take when we need to tell a doctor or pharmacist. It’s just so easy to forget the names of one or two, or the doses, when you take it p different pills throughout the day and night. This app keeps track of every medicine you take, what the pill looks like (color and shape), the strength of the dose, and how big of a dose you are prescribed. Also, this app will send you reminders each time of the day you are to take your meds. I have a morning pills reminder, an afternoon, and an evening reminder. One of the best features is that it keeps track of how many pills you have left in each bottle and will send you a refill reminder 5 days before your refill is due (by default, but you can change the number of days when it reminds you). This app also keeps your Doctors names and contact information along with all of your physical/mental conditions that you suffer with as well as what conditions each individual pill treats. Overall it is an amazingly useful and very helpful app!
Still the best. UPDATE: After nearly 9 years I’m not needing Medisafe as often anymore, but when someone needs monitoring I’m able to keep everyone’s dosages and times straight with reminders on my phone and watch. Keeping this app! ......... I’ve been using it for a few years, and with a family of six and an aging parent who lives alone I’m grateful for this app. I’m alerted to the meds I need to take, as well as those my family members may need. I’ve also got a record of what’s been taken when we’re feverish and I’m not completely aware of the time, so I’m not going to give anyone a dose too early, either. I’ve kept records of each member’s weight so I can give the appropriate dosages and the diary allows me to note side effects, and changes including temperatures, so I can check with my doctor without fear I’ve forgotten something or a date which is my normal. Then, when my phone locked me out this was the only app to return ALL of my info after I had to set up my phone as a new device! Works with my Apple Watch. Gives me drug interactions warnings and videos about how to take each med. So important when both of us adults were post surgery at the same time. Long ago I had one problem and the staff helped me fix it right away. Can’t say more great things about it without sounding like I’m being paid!
Reporting a Bug Is Too Complicated. I like this app & use it daily. It’s reminded me about the kind of medsI might forget to take. It’s not totally intuitive/user friendly for me, and my computer skills are adequate. Recently, I got a targeted questionnaire about drug coupons in the “For You” section if the app. I answered the questions, got to the end & hit Submit, and got an error message with “Try Again” as the only option. I couldn’t exit out, couldn’t backtrack to a point where I could close the section or the app, and thus couldn’t get to the Help&Support option. I went to the developer’s website which advised the same steps within the app. Shutting down & reopening my iPad was the only option that reset the app. When I went to the Help section, it advised me to email the developer from within the app. The instructions were so complicated that I finally gave up. So this is a review & bug report combined. When it works, it works well. When something unexpected happens, it’s not ready for primetime.
Just an all around great app!. The developers of this did an amazing job of integrating all the medical information needed for each drug. I also like the fact that I can input a new drug whether it be DayQuil or Zyrtec and within no time at all gives me possible interactions they could have with my current medications. The reminders are a plus. I also like the ability to add in the time you took the drug if it doesn’t correspond to the time you have them set to be taken. You can also set in a custom time you took them. I also like the custom refill reminder feature that tells me when I am low and also like that it keeps track of the number of pills left in each bottle as long as I put in that I took them. Just a great app for those who have multiple medications and sometimes find it hard to keep track of which ones need refills and which ones don’t, as well as interactions and videos about each drug. 🙂 Great Job!! Love it! 👍🏻
Extremely Helpful!. I needed an app to help track the medication I’ve been taking after undergoing several fusion surgeries. After looking at a few, I found this to be the best to fit my need and more. Of course, you can input meds, mg dose, time(s) to take, and daily dosage. The app also monitors interaction with other meds, updates on meds, always to input dr info, schedule appointments, new feature for pharmacy and meds delivery. You can keep diary and notes of meds and send to your doctors, if needed. Because I initially found staying on schedule a problem, this has made things very easy which is important if the medication is going to work. As a note, I have not upgraded to the premium option because I am on disability and have limited income, so I do use the features described from their free options. My only con would be to allow some of the settings changes such as color and home screen styles in the free option. Everyone cannot afford to pay monthly cost. Pro, this is an excellent app for those seeking to track multiple medications. Thanks and I hope you continue to update free features!
Not bad but still could be improved for the “modern day” pill taker. Very comprehensive meds library and color/shape icons. Main reason I use it is support for Apple Watch to log meds without picking up your iPhone. The Apple Watch support alone is a knockout criteria for me in selecting one of these pill tracker apps: you don’t have it, I don’t use you. But it could use some updates, including: * Better reporting. Currently, reports do not show the dosage you took. E. g., if you take a half of a pill, which they DO support logging, the report does not show this. This is required to calculate your average dose taken for “as needed” meds, which doctors are increasingly requiring you to tell them. * Allow at least two day view on the Apple Watch for meds taken. If you take meds during the night, as needed, you cannot see what you took after midnight. You have to pick up your iPhone. Also add full display of the dose you took as well on that list. E. G., if you took one-half of a 10mg pill, it should at least show you took 0.5 of 10mg of that med.
Helped me adjust to newly-diagnosed chronic disease. After receiving diagnosis of a chronic disease last year, I was suddenly juggling ten pills each day. Each prescription had its own instructions and schedule. One I take every other day. One I take first thing in the morning, 30 minutes before eating. Others I took with lunch, or with dinner. Woah. Medisafe helped me get in the habit of taking my pills on the regular. And once it became a habit, I turned off the notifications and just use the app to check off when they were taken. It’s super customizable and has been a wonderful help. One of my favorite features is the interaction checker. I have two prescribers and while they know what I’m taking, it gives me peace of mind to make sure nothing I take will cause an adverse reaction - or gives me the ability to ask educated questions if there may be a concern. I recommend this to anyone who is trying to get on a schedule with your prescriptions and supplements — for health’s sake!
Great in some ways. Firstly, this app is loaded with features. No complaints there. However, it's a bit bogged down for the average user. It's not as easy or intuitive to navigate as an app should be for people who need to take multiple medications multiple times a day. Taking into account that people taking medications might also have some degree of brain fog or mental impairment either due to the condition or as a side effect of medication, an app aimed at this demographic should have its core features easy to access without having to tap through multiple menus repeatedly. The process for adding a medication, for example, could be simplified. I see this app advertised as #1 recommended by pharmacists, but what about the people who are actually using the app? The interactions checker is phenomenal from a pharmacist's or doctor's point-of-view, but easily being able to add and record doses, as well as being able to view monthly calendars, would be a great asset to users. In the end, making an app that's easy to use is the best way to ensure patients actually take their meds. This app could easily be 5 stars with just a better interface, because it truly is a fantastic app. Just not as practical as I'd like. P.S. I'm unsure if there's a way to turn off the weekend "extra help" notification.
Customer service is terrible. I have been using this app on my iPhone for a very long time and I don’t know what changed, but my history on my app is gone. I have contacted customer service through email for almost a month - multiple emails - and through the chat on the website and I am not getting any help. The first email I got back said they hoped they answered my question when they hadn’t sent any answer to my question. After I reminded them that they hadn’t answered my question, they suggested using the report tool. I tried the report tool and it only comes back with a network error. I let them know about the network error and I have had no response since. It’s been over a week since I sent it. I tried the website on my computer to see if I would have any luck - the website doesn’t respond when I click on the dates. I tried the chat and no one was there. My advice - if you use this app, back up whatever you enter into it somehow as the report feature doesn’t work and no one is there in customer service to help you. I gave the app 2 stars as it does track meds and times that you take them. I would have given it 4 stars before all of this happened and would give it no stars now, so this is an average of the two.
Wonderful App!. EDIT: I’ve raised my rating from a 4 to a 5, as the wonderfully responsive customer service team has informed me that there are options to resolve the issues I presented, and that I simply missed. It’s nice to see a company being so active with helping its users! I’ve been using this app for about a week, and so far, I think it’s great! There seems to be a tool for just about anything you could think of, and it’s really helpful! The interface is beautiful, and everything is totally customizable. The only thing I would change is that there isn’t (from what I could find) an option to turn off the notifications it sends you every five-or-so minutes reminding you to take your pill. While I can understand that this may be helpful for some (and should, perhaps, remain the default setting) the medication I take isn’t going to harm me if I take it a few minutes late or even forget a dose entirely (although I obviously try to avoid this). As a result, I find myself getting annoyed with the constant notifications about my medicine when I already have the little red badge notification on the app icon reminding me that I have a pill to take. I wish there was an option to turn these off. It also would be nice to have a setting for those of us who only take a fraction of a pill as a dose. :) Overall, though, I’d highly recommend this if you have a difficult medication regiment, of if you’re simply a forgetful person, like myself!
Was great!! Now issues. The app was one of my favorites I have ever downloaded for any reason!! I have used this app for the past year without any issues, the functionality is great and it’s easy to use. BUT, recently on a business trip that took me through several time zones (never an issue in the past) the app crashes. It asks if I want to save the new time zone as usual but when I try to make a selection it simply crashes. I reached out to support and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but still it does not work. Even after I got home to my original time zone, now my medications are scheduled incorrectly, the details say scheduled at 7:00am but then the reminder doesn’t happen until 9:00 am. I don’t understand this issue at all and have had no assistance from support so unfortunately after a month of waiting for a resolution to this issue I have to find a different app and start all over putting my info in. It’s very frustrating and I am disappointed since I really thought this app was the solution for my needs. Alas, it’s not.
Keeps Reminding Until Pill Taken !!!. What good is a single reminder that you don’t hear because you are temporarily separated from your smart phone?! And then you don’t see the notice on phone’s screen because you are busy with with some task, watching TV, etc. This pill reminder app keeps reminding audibly & visually every few minutes until you pick up phone & manually tap “snooze” or “taken”. “Snooze” lets you set how long you want the app to wait before it reminds you again! One suggestion for improvement is a louder audible reminder for people watching TV or poor hearing or both. Perhaps let user set volume. A defect that could cause confusion that results in patient taking wrong dosage is as follows. For one of my prescriptions I am supposed to take 2 pills at same time once per day. But reminder says: “2 pills: take one”. Some one not mentally sharp might take only one pill, which depending upon the medication & the medical condition for which it is taken could have serious negative consequences!
Not a single “Medfriend” notification. We installed the free version of this app on my child’s phone before they left for college so that we could be sure they were taking their lifesaving medication regularly. I was set up as the “Medfriend” to receive notifications if their meds weren’t taken on time. In the nearly 2 months that it’s been installed not once I have I ever received a notification. I contacted the developer and was instructed on numerous things to try to fix it. None worked. I was then told to send an email from within the app. I’ve sent 2. It’s been radio silence from support for a month now. Had this app worked as designed I fully intended to purchase the premium version so that we could add my spouse as the other Medfriend. As such, I’m about ready to delete the whole thing. On top of the notification issues it takes forever to update in the app when my child has taken their meds. It’s incredibly inconsistent. I’ve had it take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to update. So we’ve resorted to having my child just text us they’ve taken their meds. The app was supposed to give a little extra independence to my child from having to contact mom and dad on a 2 times daily basis. Super disappointed.
Just What I Needed. I have to take a variety of medications. I was using my phone clock alarm with labels telling me what medications to take and when. But it was annoying because I can’t always take my medication when the alarm would goes off because sometimes I’m busy at that moment with something I need to finish. The alarm wouldn’t remind me if I hadn’t taken the medicine. It was done. And I had to turn it off because any alarm is bothersome, especially if you’re using the phone to conduct business. It dawned on me that they’re must be an app for this. I downloaded a few so I could try them out. This is the only convenient medicine reminder. If I don’t respond, it gets back to me in a short while. And the alarm sounds like a soft rattle. I can take the medicine exactly on time, I can ignore the alarm without missing my medicine because this app gets back to me in a while. If I decide to take a medication a little early or a little late, I can easily mark that in my schedule. You just put in the name of the medication. The app and for the dosage and shows what the medications look like, so you have a visual of your medicine, too., It asks how many times a day you take it, and then has you put in the times you want to take it. It takes about a minute or two to do after you’ve done it once. It’s so convenient. No more forgetting to take an important medication. No more trying to remember if I already took that medication today. I love this app!
Lifesaver app!!. I recently started taking daily prescription meds for the first time in my life. I’m a bit scatter brained, so I knew I needed something to help me remember to take them every morning. I found this app, and I’m so glad I did. It’s so easy to use, set your time, and mark as taken. And best of all, I haven’t missed a day with my meds since I started them a month ago because of this app. There’s times in the morning when I’m in a whole other world, and if it’s wasn’t for the little notification that pops up, I seriously would forget to take my pill some days. I also really love how you get multiple notifications if you don’t mark it as taken. My favorite feature has to be that when you mark your meds as taken, you can reopen the app throughout the day and it’ll show you the exact time you took them. Because sometimes i’ll be doing whatever and suddenly start freaking out thinking I forget to take my meds, but when I open the app, it’s right there that I took them, which is such a relief. I’ve recommended this app to friends and family already, and I will continue to do so, I love it!
Exactly what I wanted. I tend to get side tracked about taking my medications and supplements. I’ve spent too much time wondering if I actually took them and then fearing taking them twice ended up not taking them at all. This app has changed that cycle for me. The reminders come up with an attention getting tone and the best part is if I’m busy or ignore the first one they continue at an interval until I open the app and press one of the taken/snooze options. There is no way for me to miss a dose unless I actively try to. Additionally I’m really impressed with the potential drug interactions feature. As I was adding my meds and supplements an alert came up right away with a full explanation of why two of them shouldn’t be taken together. Thats a safety feature that was a surprise but really helpful. The biggest bonus is that the app works with my Apple Watch which honestly is the reason I chose this one in the first place. Even if my phone is somewhere else the alerts continually come up on my watch keeping me on track.
I’ve used this app for years. I hate taking pills. And I have a lot of them. This app not only reminds me to take them, but sometimes it makes me laugh at the “voices.” People who have been nearby when the reminder goes off have also have had a laugh. The best part is that when I start tuning out the reminder, I can change the phrase so that it’s in my conscious again. This app lets me look at interactions and information about my medications if I want to. I can change the time of a single or a group of meds just for one time or even skip one or all. I can change the looks of the meds by shapes and colors so certain ones stand out. I can delete meds and still keep the history of the med, or even just suspend the med. This app really does it all. I only have one complaint. I wish more and different voices were periodically added. I would pay a little extra for that because I have been listening to the same ones now for many years. All-in-all, this is truly the best medication reminder app available (and I have tried them all!)
Best app so far!. I’ve been using this app as a caregiver, very user friendly. I find the pill identification on the list adds a level of safety to not only see the names of the meds but the visual look of the tablet. There is a stop /start date feature that can be missed if your not paying attention, but it’s there and is a great benefit when dealing with things like chemo meds. I think the Medifriend feature is beneficial on so many levels, BUT..I’ve asked for ..still waiting.. Again, as a caregiver with so many meds coming in, this app really needs the ability for TWO people to have access to the meds list and schedules. I find I need to have family member sign out so I can go through, add meds, change schedule on my iPad..then sign out and have them sign back in to then resume being reminded and checking off the meds on time. I also find as the Med friend, what I input into the “primary account” isn’t always what’s seen at the Med friends side. This could cause serious confusion in a medical emergency trying to go through accurate meds list in hospital environment. I hope this fix comes quickly as it’s so vital to such an amazing app!
Best Medication App. I downloaded this app about two years ago and never had a problem wish the free version. It managed all of my many meds (about 80) and reminders. It started crashing a couple of months ago. When it got so bad I couldn’t depend on it I emailed support. It was an unusual case but Marissa kept at it, didn’t give up. After several weeks, emails and an update, we finally got it working and it’s stable. I’ve tried shopping for other medication apps but none of them have the interface that works as smoothly as this one. I take around 15-35 pills per day and this app manages to remind me of them all and has the easy pillbox interface for loading my pillbox weekly with ease. I also like Morgan Freeman harassing me to take my meds. I’m so glad we got the app stable because there isn’t one on the market I’ve found that comes close to doing what this one does for me. Support is stellar too. I highly recommend this app. 🙏
Amazing App. I worked in health care for 15 years. This app is great as it helps me track my medication in my e-pill box and can add my wife to get notifications on her phone when I miss my dose, which is frequently. The scheduling portion is intuitive. The diary feature helps me keep track of my pain, especially post op and need to track feeling on your follow up. The last part is the pill counter, which really helps me know when I should ask for a refill. You can set the alert at whatever count you want. Something so simple can be so amazing sometimes. The only thing I would add is a forum where people can interact with others who are taking the same meds. That would be so freakin cool. Just s simple message board with posts. I would totally buy into that. That for me is the topper because you can then interact with others who are experience the same issues with the drug. I would take it a step further and add DRG forums. Then can search for posts with the med name. Just a thought.
I never knew I needed this so much!!!. This app!!! So simple to use and yet so powerful! I have struggled for years to keep up with my med schedule on my own (manually). When a friend suggested this app, I thought, “Why have I never considered trying to manage them through technology?!” And I am so amazed! Just Wow! It’s changed my life so much!! I literally have to take medicine every two hours, so getting an alert instead of having to watch the clock is such a game changer for me! Also, no more guessing whether I took a medicine or not … and what time I actually took it (which is important for timing out my meds because I can’t take certain meds too close together). I can look back and say, “oh yeah, I was late taking this med by 30 minutes, so let me reschedule this next med for 30 minutes later. Oh, and that throws off the schedule for these others, so let me “easily” reschedule those as well.” Entering all my meds into the app was so easy and being able to enter the Rx number, amount of pills left, and set notifications for when to refill … guys, I just can’t say enough. It’s one of the simplest apps on my phone, but one that has had the greatest impact on my life. Thank you (to the developers) for making such a great, well thought out, powerful but simple to use app. It’s simplicity to use is what makes it so great. Making it complicated would have detracted from its power as the time-saving, life-saving tool you’ve developed.
NEEDS MULTI-DEVICE SYNC!!!. PLEASE figure out a way to SYNC multiple simultaneously logged-in devices: 1. Regardless of whichever one I have with me, I can enter that I’ve taken my pills or said my mantras or tested ny blood glucose at the moment I’ve done it, rather than having to rely on memory to know, later on, that I didn't skip a dose —this being the point of having such an app on my phone; and 2. Allowing multiple devices to be logged in simultaneously will allow a “significant other” to help me out with calling to remind me to do all those things that I might miss if I rely only on my ability to respond to a sound my device makes at me, since I can’t record an mp4a file and have your app play THAT sound when it gives an alert sound, so it doesn’t blend in to all the other alerts; and 3. Allow your app to access ANY alert sound so that I can record an mp4a and have the app say, in my own voice, “TAKE YER PILLS, YA OLD COOT!” so I’d know it wasn’t just some other app alerting me to the no doubt salient fact that I just drove past my favorite cafe and it might possibly be fun to stop in, since it IS approaching suppertime, after all...etc...
Exceptional!. I’m not usually one to sit down and write a review, but I would absolutely love more people to hear about Medisafe! Someone I was in the hospital with recommended this app from her own personal experience and I was a bit skeptical, but interested. I’ve had a long history of forgetting to take meds so bad that I’ll be off the stuff for over a year or two (very bad, I know). Friends and family would try to help and encourage me to take my medication, but I always had some sort of excuse or just got grouchy with the person trying to help. Medisafe exceeded my expectation by a landslide. With it’s repeated reminders every ten minutes or so and the cute little picture of the beach you get when you log your dose, it feels helpful and also a bit rewarding with this app. I have been consistently taking my medication now for two and half months 100% adherence since downloading Medisafe. And I feel so much better due to taking my medication, too. This app is a literal lifesaver. I will always be recommending this app to anyone who takes medication and has a problem remembering, thank you!
Very helpful!. I have used other mex reminders and found them annoying. Sometimes because the snooze was only 10 minutes (you can change this on this app), some for the notification tones, (played the same tone as email so I disregarded it), and others for not letting me go back and “take” a med I had missed, much less give me the option to put what time I took it. This app allows you to have a “Medifriend” who gets notified if you don’t snooze or mark the meds as taken. It even gives you the option to skip a dose. If you skip it, you can go in later and set the time you ended up taking it. I am diabetic and it is so great being able to go back and see what time I used my shot, etc. I also take pills as needed, and I can keep track of that. Overall this is the best app I have found in the App Store. My friend also got it and she loves it too! We have synced our meds with each other and can see what was taken and what was missed. Very helpful!
Simple, effective, useful. I have recently needed to start taking prescription medication due to recovery from a knee surgery, and I knew I would never remember the complicated pill-taking schedule, so I downloaded this app. This app is amazing. The interface is so simple and easy to look at, it is easy to add your meds and change the doses, times, etc. Two of my biggest pet peeves with apps like this are that they push their premium at every chance, and that they are loaded with ads. This app, although it does have a premium subscription, never pushed it on me, and never made me feel like the free version wasn’t enough. Additionally, there is not a single ad. Not one. That is unprecedented for apps this day and age. The notifications it gives you for pill reminders are perfect, and it is very easy to reschedule pill times. I haven’t really explored the other features aside from the pill taking schedule, but I do see the potential in the appointment tracker, interactions tracker, etc.
Complaint on Update for Premium Access Option Pop-up Message Box. For two days, since the “Premium Access” update message box started popping up on my phone, my Medisafe app hasn’t run properly. Whenever it’s time to take my meds the alert goes off, I open the app, and immediately the “Premium” upgrade offer pop-up is there. When I decline the upgrade offer the upgrade box goes away, but then a little icon (I call a flower-clock) goes round and round, and I’m not able to access my medication. If I close it out and reopen the app it starts over again with the “Premium upgrade” offer, then the rotating icon (flower). Do not tell me to remove the app and re-download it, because if I have to reload all my meds again then I will download a different app altogether. This issue has caused my opinion of the app to drop from a 5-star to a 1-star rating. Major suggestion besides fixing the above glitch… provide an option to “permanently decline” account upgrade to “Premium.“ And then don’t allow the upgrade option message pop-up box appear on that users account anymore. Have the option for upgrade in their account management settings instead. Or create an upgrade option button icon at the bottom of the screen, below the meds list.

Excellent app and amazing team behind it. The app is amazing and helps me keep track of my medications, I have a medical condition that causes me to be confused and forgetting if I have already taken my tablet was an issue until I got this app. The team that work on this genuinely care, I contacted them because my condition wasn’t listed. They took the time to contact me back within 24 hours and it was not an automated response. I sincerely wish all the success possible for this app and the team making it. I tell anyone who will listen to get this app! It’s a life saver, quite literally! Lots of love from Australia! ReeRee
Great, however.... No negative comments noted, however im guessing this app was created with an American audience (or anywhere east of the Oceania)... my reminders are all set to a day later, I can’t find a way to change this. Other than that I am happy with how easy it has helped my med schedule (even when I don’t have access to my iPhone).
VERY good app. It does what you want it to - remind you (and others if necessary) to take your medication. No confusion, no fuss. The only thing I would wish for in future updates is the medication report to be presented as a graph - my medication is tightly time scheduled and I would love to be able to see it as a trendline rather than scrolling through the report entries to review time taken. Other than that, keep it up 👍
Really recommend it - finally remember my medication. I’m autistic and really struggle remembering my medication. Night time is usually easier because I have medication to sleep but always forgetting the morning. This app I have actually been able to consistently take my morning medication instead of skipping days or taking them at different times of the day. It’s got different health measurements you can add and record including mood, blood pressure anything you want, a diary to record different things that has different labels like mood, general, side effects. There’s a place to record your doctors information and your appointment times. It’s a really helpful app to me and it doesn’t cost anything which being on a pension is really helpful because I can’t afford all these apps that have expensive subscription prices.
2 bugs/gripes. By and large an excellent app but 1: the 24-hour time format I've selected for in my phone's setting is reflected in the big time display above each scheduled taking time on the Home panel and in the time-selection dialog, but not in the times the meds are actually really taken (in green); 2: after a recent update I couldn't set the taken time in a circumstance I can't now replicate but could only select to "Take" now or reschedule for a future time.
Great app. I have got to 53 without having to take medication, but bam I now have Stage 4, Lymphoma this fantastic little app is easy for me to use and keeps me on track with what medication to take and when. Thank you to the developers for something so simple but a life changer.
Good Reminders, Poor Data Access. I started using this app partly as a way to ensure I didn’t miss my medications, and partly as a way to provide data to my doctor to help balance my medication. This app does an excellent job at the first task - I have not missed a dose since I started using it. Unfortunately, I have just discovered that there is no way to get detailed data out of the app that’s older than a week, and no way to view historical data older than a month. The generated PDF report will only list if you took medication on a particular day, but does not report the time you took it. And since I can’t view info older than a month, I can’t even manually get that information. So at this stage I feel I would have been better off using an alarm and a spreadsheet.
Great app and great staff. This app is fantastic! I recently changed my email address and there were some issues trying to do that. The staff were incredibly helpful and worked on the problem for several weeks with constant communication until the problem was solved. A very big thank you from me to the staff that helped.
No support!!!. For several months I have been having an issue with logging into the portal to see “how I did last week”. I got to the point where I submitted the requested screenshot and from ten I have heard only one thing, one time and that is that this function is not a priority and no time frame is available. It is a main feature of the app!! It means I can more easily show my treatment team how I am doing with my meds! The app itself works fine but it is severely impacted by the fact that this included functionality has stopped working. I have submitted several follow up emails for any possible update but apart from the auto response they have not even had the courtesy to reply.
Very Good. No real negatives about App particularly as it’s free. But would like to see some minor additional functionality 1. A start date when a new medication is commenced & a restart date after a paused without loosing the original start 2. Sometimes colour combination of capsules & pill shape option not shown. An ability tweak the options for these
This app just keeps getting better. The latest update to this app adds really useful new features as well as improving existing functions making them simpler and easier to use.
Happy user.. I changed to Medisafe about three months ago, after my previous app became unreliable. I take medication for Parksinsons Disease every 2-3 hours and it’s so easy to think when the reminder goes off, I’ll take it in a while, and then forget. I like that it continues to remind me at intervals until I mark it as taken.. The help and support I received when I had difficulty with something , has been awesome ... I had given up on fixing the problem a few days ago, but they actually made contact with me, again, to help me rectify the issue. So thankful.
Fantastic app. With my epilepsy previously I was questioning myself if I had or hadn’t taken my medication and at times completely forget to take it. Well this is no longer happening with this app. It easily pairs with my iWatch and sends me notifications, I can also record when I take a medication on my watch. I also like the fact I can add a med friend so if I forget to take my medicine they are advised.
Best medication reminder. I wanted an app that would reliably remind me to take my tablets on time and would record when I did and when I didn’t take a dose. Medisafe is brilliant at that. The only thing is that I can’t enter my medical condition for the tablets I’m taking as it isn’t an option, even in the search function. Everything else about this app is absolutely brilliant.
Fantastic!. I’ve only just started using this app but I’m in love with it! not only the ease to enter pills, dosages, multiple doses per day and different times but you can also enter the physical appearance of the pill for identification! I’m just out of hospital after knee reconstruction and also recently diagnosed type 2 Diabetic I’m taking a number of pills I’m not familiar with. I’ve tried for a week to write a schedule but it’s very messy. This makes it much easier, more neat and I’m far more confident that I’ve got it right!!
Very useful. This is a very useful app; am using short term post surgery to keep track of various meds. Working well so far. Some improvements could be the ability to automatically move scheduled times by X amount of hours if you take a med early or late. Currently have to do manually. Also, the ability to note other meds that cant be taken near certain meds, ie an alert to say you took X med at this time, and you cant take Y med until this time.
Just brilliant!. So happy with this app. I’d tried 4 others before this one and they just didn’t do what I wanted! They were very frustrating. I didn’t initially try this one as someone said you had to pay a yearly fee, but that’s only if you want premium, and I’m not at that stage yet. So I’m super happy with the way it is so far. My single issue would be that I’m in Australia and the drug names are obviously different, but there are heaps of other countries in there, you would expect one as big as Australia to be. So it’s a little harder setting up as they don’t come up automatically most of the time, sometimes they don’t have a registration for them at all. But that’s ok, I’ve got them all entered in now, so the hard work is done. Other than that it is just brilliant!!! Love the ease of adding in an extra Med such as a pain killer during the day that’s so uncomplicated! No other app was that easy.
Newly Thyroid without. I was recommended this app by another person with Thyroid problems. It’s amazing as I have have gone from no medication requirements to now having a few. The app unobtrusively keeps me on track. Highly recommend!
Great tool. I’m in my 60’s and had never taken medication until I recently developed a health issue. I was having trouble keeping track of my medication until I discovered this App. It’s very easy to use and provides a comprehensive platform from which to manage my medication.
Great product. Easy to use, love the reminders and that it reminds a family member if you’ve not taken your medication. Love it gives you product information on your meds. Works at home or when I’m out and about.
Essential and Non-essential Meds/Supplements. I'm taking this in conjunction with other supplements which I may or may not take. I would like to be able to mark something as non-essential such that if I miss it, it wouldn't count against my % score. There are some supplements that are nice to have if I get the time and I think my body can take on the extra dosages. Also, can you add food and beverage category so that I can ensure I take the right diet with the meds/supplements. Also, the ability to move schedule based on dependencies. If I wake up late, and two meds need to be taken two hours apart, then all notifications are going to be irrelevant. This app is really good but if you have those three features, this is really heaven of a situation.
Please adjust notification sound level. Okay this app is good, but please for the love of god make the reminder sound quieter if AirPods or headphones are attached. The sound is fine when coming out of the speaker but blasts my ears if I have my AirPods in, there’s no way to adjust this in my settings. Also would be very beneficial to be able to set up a max dose in a given time frame ie. pain meds where you can have three pills in a three hour period.
Overall really good. The only thing that has been bugging me with this app is that my doctor recently changed my dose so instead of one pill daily, I'm using a pill cutter and taking 1 and a half pills every morning. There's no way to change the dosage to half pills, so that would be great if included in an app update.
Brilliant App!. Ever since I received my first iwatch this month I have used this app to remind me when my daily medications are due and the alarm alerts me. I have also used the app to record all medications, supplements and PRN medications, doctors and the quick reference to their contact details and I put all my appointments in so I’m well organised. This is brilliant and I wish this technology was in my life a lot longer ago. Great work to the creators! This can save lives and alert health professionals such as police, ambulance and doctors etc of information that is vital to an individual. I recommend this app!
Good except way to many updates.. What is the big problem with updates you ask. Well if you use an Apple Watch to mark your dose if the phone app has had an update then it is impossible to record the dose on your watch again till you have actually opened the app on the phone and watched it spin its wheels while it updates. Only then can you use you watch again. This is totally inconvenient if you have your phone in another location in the house or out of the way in a restaurant and suddenly find the app no longer acknowledges you have taken you meds.
Feedback. This app has been helpful but on the report page could you show the dosage taken (eg half a tablet). In accurate pain management where you’re trying to cut down this view would be really helpful to get a clear idea of peak times where pain is not so good. Also would love if you were able to add a simple symptoms check in. Pain medicine is when required but you can’t take too often so a reminder every 4 hours in my case to check symptoms would allow me to then decide to postpone the pain medicine rather than looking like I skipped a tablet completely if I were to put a reminder to take the tablet every 4 hours.
Amazing. I've been using this app for a week and it does exactly what it needs to do. I have to take so many different pills for a month and each of them have different instructions and if it wasn't for this app I would totally mix them all up. Thanks!!
Review. Please rethink the idea of being able to use a 1/2 & 1/4 tablet which many of us use for pain meds. 0.5 is not good enough to correctly add a dose. Plus there needs to be an icon for products like flixotide & OnBreeze (please google) which are breathing meds similar to Ventolin. Also an icon for Salbutamol another solution used in a ventilator I showed it to my Respitory Surgeon, my GP & Ambulance people only to find they did not recognise the products as I know them by. To give you an example Relpax the name on the box yet medical people know it by the drug name which is Eletripitan. So it’d be great if we had room next to the name that’s understandable by medicos as well as us users. Apart from those issues which I’ve use work arounds this Ap is a life saver. Thank you.
Self recommendations are not praises.. I accidentally messed up the reminder for the application quanity, time & dosage. Can’t fix the entry back to it's original. This app is an acutely rude and annoying especially when you are working on app just as important, and it will not let go of the reminder regardless. I must admit I don't like the app. It is by far too confusing. I am male, caucasian, speaker only english. My app is running on iPhone 13 pro max. 𝓙𝓱𝓸𝓷𝓲 𝓗𝓲𝓷𝓰 ♿
Fantastic app with terrific support. I have been using Medisafe since 2013 to reminder me to take my prescription medicines that I require after having 4 operations on my back. It has everything you could want in an app for tablet reminders and with the comedic reminder tones it makes you laugh when the reminder is due. Thank you to Marissa and the Medisafe team for restoring full features for me and providing such a great app.
Good…but has gone backwards.. This app was great when I first downloaded it several years ago. Would work seamlessly without a glitch. That was then…lately when they have updated this app, it can no longer accurately keep track of your remaining medication, even when you mark it as taken. I purposely depleted two of my medications, updated the stock to 30 on each…almost 2 weeks in, it says I have 22 in stock, when I have taken already taken 10. The developers know about this issue, yet haven’t worked out the issue. Just go back to the old version when it worked fantastic.
Love It. Makes my life so much easier. Helps me to remember to take tablets and what I’ve taken when I can’t remember if I have taken it or not. Love being able to add notes for symptoms I’m having to help track my health and possible reaction to medications or food. It’s great having the extra options like tracking blood pressure and fatigue levels. All round I’m extremely happy that I’ve found this app. Love it.
Medisafe Magic. Commenced using this App 3-4 months ago. I find it easy to use & it makes management of my regular medications very effective & ensures I never miss taking any. The ability to skip and/or snooze taking specific ones is very beneficial. I recommend any person to try this App
Detailed and customisable. Loving it, thankyou devs!!: - you can choose different icons and colours - according to the icon, it knows whether it's a spray, injection, pill etc - very customisable schedule - persistent reminders - refill reminder - option to suspend medication rather than delete completely - I can put all my meds in and what they're used to treat What I'd like to be introduced: A label for who the medication is for. My dogs need meds too, and I save them alongside my reminders. If there was a label for who is taking the meds, it would make it a little bit easier/accessible.
Fantastic. I think this app is a MUST for anyone who is a bit forgetful when it come to having regular medication. I love the fact it sends your notifications when you or your little ones are due for medication. It also sends not just one notification so if you miss the first one it will remind you again. The app was a little tricky at the start but honestly didn’t take any time at all to get used to it. I downloaded it on a Wednesday and by Wednesday night after having a play around with it, it was like I had been using it for months definitely 5 STAR TICK OF APPROVAL.
Thanks - great app (just two small comments). Thanks +++ for this app, it’s such an integral part of my life. Just some small comments to consider. Since the last big update I’ve noticed a couple of small problems: Firstly, half the time I the app after receiving the notification, the screen stays on the previous day, and I have to swipe left to move to today’s date. It’s only a small issue, but probably easy for you to fix? Secondly, I used to be able to acknowledge I’d taken my pills directly from the notification alerts - without having to opening the app (I loved this!). Since the last big update this is no longer possible. Will you re-introduce that function?
Very Happy. My previous app creator ceased work and the app was crashing constantly. I struggled with all the different ones on the App Store. So far I love this app. I take a multitude of meds at different times and then take extras a lot too which I needed to record. This app allows me to do everything I need to do with it. I have even created a profile for my dogs medications!! Very happy with this so far!
Long Term User. Have been using this App since it appeared in the App Store. The brothers originally developed the App for their Dad to alleviate duplicate medication. As I suffer from several chronic conditions, it would be really helpful if prior medical appts / treatments could be listed in year order. I now look @ past appt details, but the dates start in 2015 heading to 2019, would be more helpful to be the other way round. Otherwise, best App & many friends use it in my Facebook support group.
Super Handy. Really easy to use, need to remember when to take medications post operatively and this makes it so easy, automatic reminders + the option to add in “as needed” doses too. Great to have when your memory is foggy after surgery.
Not happy. I really wish this program that I have used and really relied on for medication management with Parkinson's, it became so important to me, would go back to how it was before the update in June 2017. Now it doesn't work if I go out of my house and away from my wifi. I have to continually enter my log in details. Before this update I was taken by ambulance in an emergency situation. Luckily my phone came with me and all my medical details were available to the Hospital. Now when I move from my home it shows 0 medications. I absolutely hate the changes and it has made me more vulnerable
Never again forget. Love this app. It reminds you gently when it’s time to take your meds, and if you don’t act on it there will be another reminder. Better than a simple alarm on your phone.
Good, but needs work. I need a reliable medicine counter because I am taking a dangerous PRN medication at the moment that is vitally important to record accurately. I can do it with this app, but it takes a lot of fiddling. There are no reminders when the time is up before you are able to take another dose. It is difficult to record doses of PRN medication as well - sometimes it works, other times it doesn’t, and you have to go through and adjust things manually. This app would definitely not be suitable for someone suffering dementia. If you have dementia, for your own safety, find a different app which allows you to keep up with your PRN (ie ‘as needed’) medications much more easily, or you’ll run the risk of overdosing or not having an accurate reminder system for when your medication runs out.
Great App!. MediSafe App Review -- Whilst the initial learning curve took me some time to climb, I use MediSafe for my medications after a heart transplant. It took a while for me to realise that I could call my medications anything I wanted, not being required to select one of the suggestions. Particularly so when my dosage involves half tablets at one time in the day and complete tablets at other times. I use it to manage my dosage and record various other measurements such as blood pressure, SPO2, weight, glucose and temperature. If asked what my dosages are, MediSafe is what I refer to. That is how important MediSafe is to me. Quite literally, it keeps me alive :)
Excellent app with everything require. This is an excellent app that I have been showing the nurses and doctors when I was in the hospital and everyone saw me adding my medication myself was amazed how great the app is. Not only it shows the colour shape and the dosage of the medication, but it can have my appointments as well as writing my medical journal (diary) as well as searching the words in my diary. This App is amazing and is one app that all I need after testing at least half a dozen of other apps for comparison, this is the best! One minor improvement I would suggest is to add a half a dosage icon/picture for a circle (semi-circle) of a tablet, so it shows I have to cut my medication in half and hand half the dosage. This was done in the half oval shape but not the half-circle one. I hope the next update will have this to select. Keep up the great work and I will continue to show the nurses and doctors how good the app is as a regular patient into the hospital. Thanks for creating this wonderful app for us. (And great loud alarm when it is in Do Not Disturb mode, I needs that one not to misses my medication)
Everything disappeared after 2 years. I liked this app and had been using it for nearly 2 years and was able to use the report section to look back at previous dates. Everything worked fine until last week when the report said nothing has been entered. All my data had disappeared. I emailed support 3 days ago and have not received a reply. I tried to delete my account in the ‘manage account’ section and it only allows to change password, so I just deleted/changed my personal details as I can’t delete my account. Annoyed to have all my data vanish after using this app for so long
Note to app makers… Can’t live without this app.. BUT... Update…APP MAKERS: App keeps crashing with these last 2 updates.. mostly when you go to scroll down..please check out.. Thanks so much for all you do!! First Review… How did I ever live without this app.. I have a few various health challenges which make my medicine chart ridiculously long.. when people ask me what medications I am on, I used to just say “too many” and hoped that I at least had my medication list on me... this app is brilliant in not only making sure I take every single medicine on time but now ensures that I don’t forget a dose or worse double up one!! I can also show the list to any health professionals and I love how it also says why I am on each medication which is handy if you have more than one health issue... One of my health issues makes me a bit forgetful as well so now my carer can remind me if I have forgotten something.. I seriously cannot express how grateful I am to the app makers.. brilliant job 10/10.. Extremely grateful! Thank you!!
Crashes on launch.. This has now been resolved. Thanks for your support! The new point release crashes on launch and I’m no longer able to access my data! I’ve just found a workaround: pop your phone into flight mode and launch the app. After that you can turn flight mode off!
Just what I wanted. A simple reminder app without a need create an account. I tried another which I believe would be the perfect app for storing data and accessing information with consideration to keeping information secure but really all I wanted was a simple reminder app and this one is perfect for my needs.
Couldn’t live without it. This app is amazing. I’ve gone from no medication to five different tablets to be taken at different times of the day. Amazing. Also great for keeping track of side effects and sending info to any of your doctors.
Good App. I tried many ways of scheduling my medications, none of them great until I found Medisafe. Really helpful and schedules well just one issue for me, the cycle has options 21+7, 22+6, 23+5, 24+4 then jumps to 26+2. I need 25+3 and it is not there so I take the 24+4 option and I know I have to do 1 extra day. It would be great if you could add just one more option. Thank you Medisafe team for responding to my review and guiding me to a way to customise so it works for me 😀

Cmon. Gotta love when they tell you it’s a premium app once everything is set up
Find a different app. I’ve been using this app for several years to manage my meds, and they’ve updated it so that you can only track two medications at a time or else you have to pay to add more. Well now I have to take three different meds, and personally I’m not going to pay a subscription fee to make sure I don’t miss one extra pill a day. I guess this works fine as a free option if you only take two medications or less? Will be deleting this app and looking for a new one as soon as this review is posted.
Disappointed. I hve been using this app for months and enjoyed it and now you’re saying after 10 years you’re going to be charging for it.. what a way to lose customers. I’ll be deleting the app. If I could give 0 stars I would
Good bye after a decade+. Subscription way to high
Disappointed. So disappointed that after 10 years of being a doctor recommended app that kept people safe and healthy for millions of people, Medisafe fell into the hands of GREED. Having to suspend reminders or be forced to pay a subscription is disrespectful not to mention dangerous.
Was good while it lasted- fortunately Apple does it better. As a senior taking 6 medications per day I found the app very helpful up until now. However living on a govt pension I cannot afford an ongoing subscription. Therefore I have moved to the free Apple health app which has quite a few better features for free and I will be deleting Medisafe as of today.
Dedicated User, Extremely Disappointed w/ New Subscription Model. I’ve used Medisafe for over three years to manage my complex medication regimen. I’ve recommended this app to countless fellow patients because it truly changed my life and allowed me to stay on-track with my meds. My condition has been stable, and I attribute a portion of this to Medisafe’s help in tracking my medications. I opened the app today to see that to track any more than 2 medications, it will now be required to pay $6.99/month. I’m truly, deeply disappointed and dismayed at this. Many people who rely on this application are already disabled and/or elderly and living on extremely limited incomes. This is a selfish, unfortunate decision. It’s with deep disappointment I delete this app which has helped my health so much. I’m willing to bet this is the beginning of the end for Medisafe. Sad.
Great app. This is a great app but it would be nice if you could change the time on a medication. Eg. I have a dose scheduled for 9pm daily. Sometimes I take it a little later and forget to enter it in the app. I’m unable to go back and change the time it was taken. Other than that, it’s a great app!
Making it a paid program. I love this app have used it for ages recently found out they are making it a paid system so if you take more the two types of meds well sucks for you pay is money, I will be finding a new app.
Amazing app. I used this app for IVF medications and now post C-section for pain meds. It’s really amazing when you have to try and keep track of multiple different medications in a day. It’s so easy to use, and makes it easy to be accurate and keep on top of doses and timings I really don’t know how I would’ve done managed without it.
Don’t use unless you have under 2 medications. I’ve recently been put on three different medications on top of my two already that all have different dosing. I’m struggling to keep everything together and with my brain fog from my chronic disease I thought an app would be so helpful. You have to pay to use more than two medications which I thought was so disappointing. I know developers need to make money somehow but odds are if someone has under two medications they don’t really need to utilize this app. Anyways, great idea, disappointing result.
App failure. Opened this app on Wednesday, and the meds were all mixed up including time and quantity. I take over 16 meds a day at different times. I can’t afford to have this happening.I am a 80 year old senior and this was I the best program for me and anyone else who has a slight memory problem and take multiple meds at different times. Should I delete the program and start over again or search for a different program?
Absolutely insane rug pull. You are no longer allowed to track more than 2 medications for free! Corporate greed strikes again. Thank god Apple has built this feature in. Bye bye Medisafe!
Not free anymore. I loved this app until now. It is no longer free and you have to pay 7$ a month to be able to program more than 2 medications. Will be deleting and finding a new app to use for medication reminders.
Was amazing… latest update ruined the app. I was taking 7 different pills at different times and I thought this app was a godsend. After years of struggling with staying on track and actually taking my medication I was finally consistently doing so. The latest update cut all but two of my medicine reminders and demanded I upgrade to a previously nonexistent “premium” for a cost. Very disappointing to see this go the way of money when it was genuinely helping so many people. Sad to see and I won’t be using it anymore..
Great app but pricey. I really liked using this app but an annual subscription of $49.99 is expensive. One time payment is reasonable.
Paid only subscription. Has of now the free tier is gone, i never cared for any of the paid features. Now that its paid only and even worse subscription only, im out, will find any other app
Très pratique!. J'ai besoin d'outils de gestion pour tout, et celui-ci est extrêmement pratique, bien conçu et agréable à utiliser même Dans sa version gratuite avec son interface ludique... j'y prends des notes et enregistre mes rv... génial!
Hard pass if you are new. I used this free app for a couple of years and it was just what I was looking for without the ads to upgrade etc etc etc. Once there was a notification that free features are now limited and capped…the app is on the free version (I’m not paying an app to remind me when I can set a timer on my phone which is free and not an app tracking me through my phone) it’s SUPER slow. While some people may think…wow this app turned to junk pretty quick, I wonder if I give them money every month with it be restored to when I first downloaded it? NEXT—- it’s very transparent of the developers and disappointing.
Doesn’t work. I paid the $55 for the full app but the measurements for mood and pain only randomly save themselves and won’t save every day. The measurements would be great to track how I’m doing and discuss with my doctors. It also has a great diary feature that will also only save when it feels like it. I lost several important entries. I contacted the developer and they told me they had fixed it and I was to use a different email address and close and reopen the app. I did all of that and when I opened it again, things that had been saved, no longer were so the app seemed to function even worse now. Despite me contacting them several times, I have not been given any idea if they can fix it or not. The pill reminder works for me but that part is free. The premium features were unreliable for me. Another reply advised me that I could use measurements to help me and it made me realize they weren’t on top of things since I contacted them to say the measurements weren’t even working properly for me. (That was even more frustrating) I also couldn’t get the pharmacist videos to work for me. Another great option... if it works. In theory, the app is great but it’s not working for me and I’d encourage people to look for other options despite Medisafe being #1 rated. If they can assure me the bugs have been fixed, I’ll buy it again. I’ll write a positive review but I’m not satisfied with the customer service either. I have found it to be very frustrating because this app should give me what I need but it isn’t as advertized.
Only 2 meds max for free - the pay for premium. Only 2 medications for free? People that need a reminder app are probably going to have more than 2. This is disingenuous at best
Subscription charged. After many years of using this app they decided to make the app unusable and force the user to choose limited use or pay. The subscription price is unreasonable higher. So I’m no longer a user, way too expensive! Greedy!
This was a great App - now Subscription Required. Worked great until I got a message today that I have to subscribe or only list two medications. Looks like I’m looking for another App.
Heartbroken. I loved this app and have used it religiously for the last couple years. Unfortunately they’re now making you buy a 7$ subscription per month just to keep more than two meds now. This sucks, will be finding a new app and painstakingly moving everything over. Uhg
NO UPFRONT PRICE AVAILABLE FIR PREVIOUSLY FREE USE. This app was mostly useful for years and because it was free I could live with some of the clunky menus. Now I get a notice to update and must either remove all but 2 medications reminders unless I pay an unspecified amount. No price, no indication whether it is one time purchase or periodic payments forever. I tried searching for info but it was quicker to delete everything and get a different app.
Was Free and now not. Used this app for a long time and it worked very very well UNTIL they are forcing payment. Too bad. Found something else now that it is not longer free.
Have to pay. After using this app for 2+ years, they are now making me pay to have more then 2 medications. Use the Apple health app. It’s free
Great until now.. This app was an excellent tool for me after my stroke to track my medicine, in the face of my ADHD. The decision to shift to a paid model that utterly destroys the usefulness and functionality for anyone tracking more than two medications renders this app worthless.
App ruined by money grab. This app has been my go to for years to track meds. But now they are forcing you to pay 7$ a month to have more than two medications? Really disappointed, I will be deleting this app and finding a new app to help me track my medication.
why. until they forced a subscription, this was a 100/5 stars app. Why would you omg
Leaving after app changes. I will not pay to unlock this app after 4 years of using to help me manage 4 prescriptions. Do not buy this app!
Was a good app …. I’ve used it for free for years, but now that they want to charge for stuff I don’t use, I’m going to have to find another app.
Free version is becoming limited. I received a notification when I went to log my medication today that the app would be changing and if I wanted to keep using the app for free without paying for a membership I could only log 2 medications. Very disappointing and will be finding another app.
Unfortunate. This is an amazing app. It helped me keep my meds on track, when I needed to call for another prescription, drs appointments… unfortunately due to the high price of the cost of this app I cannot keep it. I did find others that do the same for a one time fee that was way cheaper.
It was a good app. Now they are going to charge you if you want to track more than 2 medications! Since I got that notification the app keeps trying to open and spins & spins while you wait.
So long because of paywall. Aren’t I glad I was using this app and the Health app med tracker… guess I’ll just have to suggest to Apple to implement a refill reminder to completely replace you!
Helpful app for sure!. I've just started using this app and find it very helpful. I love the reminder tone, "pills shaking" lol. You can choose the shape and colour of your meds...
It was great until it wasn’t!. I’ve been using this app for a LONG time and there has been a new update where you have to PAY to use it or only keep 2 medications now someone who takes a lot more than two medications I find this ridiculous!! I’ve never had to pay for this app! I deleted it as soon as I saw I had to pay!! Unreal 😒
Boo New Payment Plan. I have been using this app for over 4 years and have loved it until they announced they are implementing a payment plan that is required if you track more than 2 meds. I might continue if they introduced an ad version that was free but that is not an option currently. I will be looking for a new med tracking app ASAP! 👎🏻
Have to find another app. This has been a great free app for managing my medications for the last 3 years I have used it. Unfortunately, effective 15th November 2024 it will only allow you manage 2 medications for free. If you have more, it will cost you $6.99 USD per month. It’s a good app, but not worth a monthly fee for someone on limited disability income.
Really? A pay wall on a medication app?. DO NOT DOWNLOAD! -THEY CLEARLY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY NOW! -$49.99 a year? -Yea sure thats cheap, But if you are living on $700 - 1500$ a month… -And the free version is only two meds? THE FUK -I DONT WANNA PAY FOR A VOICE TO TELL ME TO TAKE MY MEDS. This is stupid. -At least make the free version have unlimited meds ESPECIALLY if you are gonna market it as a “fun” way to take your meds. - 2 meds… just wow… “ ✦ Unlimited medications Add as many meds as needed ✦ Unlimited profiles Manage your loved ones' treatments ✦ Unlimited Medfriends Your friends get notified if you miss a dose ✦ Special reminder sounds Morgan Freeman, Elsa, Minions & more! ✦ Full suite of theme colors ✦ Priority app support ✦ Exclusive early access to new features, with the freedom to cancel anytime” So if i Don’t want this? I still have to PAY for it to just have my Medication reminder? Just because i have to take 4 types of meds? …..
Another app gets greedy. This is an exorbitant subscription, given it’s a one trick pony. Bear in mind for twice what you’re asking you can get all of Office 365 with 2tb of storage and a spreadsheet to track your meds. I’d pay a one time fee up to 10 bucks, but that’s it.
Subscription = Inaccessible. Making this into a subscription was a horrible move. It was a great app while it lasted. 2 medications max is ridiculous.
Boo. I used to really love this app. I have used it for years, and it has been very helpful. Now they have moved to a very expensive subscription form out. I am deleting the app and will use something less expensive but equally good. If they had set a one time fee for a reasonable amount, I would have definitely paid it, but I refused to pay for an expensive subscription every month.
Now they want me to pay $49 per year!. I started using the app several months ago and I liked it. Now it is asking me to pay $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year! I would have paid $6.99 for a perpetual licence but not a monthly or yearly charge. When I started to use the app, I don’t recall it telling me I would have to pay for it and certainly not the amount they are asking now. I will look for another app.
Watch integration is broken. This is a good app and I use it every day, but the watch integration seems to be broken. Every day at my medication time my watch notifies me to take my medication. When I press the button on my watch to confirm having taken my meds it doesn’t log on the phone app, and I then receive two more notifications ten and twenty minutes later, until finally I open up the phone app and mark it there instead. Kind of defeats the convenience of having the watch app integration.
Remove medications or buy premium. Great way to make users to subscribe…
Glitchy, poorly synched app. I downloaded this app to keep track of my child’s medications. My husband and I both had it on our phones so we could both keep track. When I tapped that I had given meds, I always got a notification that meds hadn’t been taken as scheduled. Now I’m being told that I need to purchase the app in order for it to continue to work. There is no purchase option in the App Store. I will be finding a different app to keep track of medications. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
Meds I take are automatically suspended. I have medication that I have to take every day. I take the medication first before I go to this app to mark them as taken, but some of the medicine that I need to take are automatically suspended even when I don’t want them suspended. Can you please help me with not having my medicine automatically suspended?
Charges. I loved this app to keep track if I took my meds or not but they’re updating it to only 2 meds for free and you have to pay to keep track of more meds and I’m very disappointed that the app I’ve been using for 2 years is now useless to me and I have to find a new one

I have submitted this comment before with no response, but I’m going to try again…. Medisafe needs one thing to be just about perfect for me - a complication for Apple Watch users, so we don’t have to find and click on the notification to mark a med as taken. Please consider adding this feature. It can’t be that hard, as many other watch apps have complications that are always visible and available. I submitted this request via email, and the person responding obviously didn’t know what a complication is on the Apple Watch. She explained to me how to open the Medisafe app on the watch, which I know very well how to access. Apple’s new Medications app in IOS 16 has complications available, but I don’t like it because it only sends one reminder, and if you forget, too bad.
Best tracker and excellent beta program and team!. Medicare has been my go to tracker for a long time, and now I’m also a beta tester. Recently I encountered a bug that completely crashed my app while beta testing (there’s a satisfaction as a tester when you’re intentionally trying to find bugs and you actually find one). The development team jumped right on it and worked with me to get it resolved as quickly as they could! While my app wasn’t working, I still had a need for a tracker so I downloaded quite a few other trackers to see if there was a newer app that was better. Of the best, I couldn’t find any that has the flexibility and robustness of Medisafe. The ability to track multiple people and view interactions between meds make Medisafe my go to app and the best of breed!!
Want to Love it... I really want to love this app, but I feel rescheduling could be MUCH better. Can select 6 times/day, but when you reschedule one med, that meds other times don’t adjust at all, have to go in and manually adjust ALL the remaining times to take that med. I feel like if it gave you an option to set the time in between the meds and it auto adjusted every time you rescheduled OR select how many times per day it would be much more user friendly. (I.e. if you are taking an antibiotic may times you kind of do 3 x per day - when you wake up, lunch-ish, and then before bed, but when you are on a major pain med that can be taken every 4 hours, as needed, if you reschedule that because you took it late, you CANNOT take the next “scheduled” one but now have to manually adjust EVERY scheduled time after that. Also the time line could be more user friendly and if you reschedule a med then it could show at that time instead of keeping it in the originally scheduled spot.
Almost all Pros, only one Con. I love this app. I’ve been using it for about 6 months now. I’ll admit sometimes when it goes “ding” I get irritated. But that’s good. If it didn’t go off, I probably would miss that dose. I like how flexible it is in scheduling. I love how it helps keep track of how many pills I have left and can help me remember to refill in time. The only thing is dislike - and it is really bothersome - is how it asks me every time I change time zones if I want to update to the new time zone. I change time zones sometimes 6 times a week. And when it prompts me, the answer is ALWAYS the same. Yes. Change time zones. It would be a lot less irritating if we could just set something in settings so that it would just do it and not ask us. It’s not like I will likely ever give it a different answer. That’s the one improvement I’d ask for.
Used to love but glitchy in the last several months. I got this app to help me keep all the medicines straight for my children and I. Also to make sure no medicines get forgotten. It is also a helpful tool when meeting with new doctors. However, the last few months this app has been incredibly glitchy with certain features. At first the customer service team was quick to respond. They couldn’t seem to find a cause or solution for an issue I was having. Then after a few weeks of silence I got an email apologizing because they are trying to fix the app and get more customer service team members. Went to use a different feature tonight and nothing but network error. I’m very much regretting renewing my subscription with this app because it literally has been having issues since it renewed. I liked this app more than any others like it so it’s disappointing. Update: putting down to 1 star because now you can’t even add new medications to the rotation. Don’t waste your money people!
Could be improved. I’ve set and configured all meds and times for each pill. I do not receive notifications for the individual pills and their set times on my Apple Watch or IPhone in a consistent manner. I may receive a single global reminder for which I have to tap the watch face and then chose a pill to take. I was anticipating a notification for each separate pill at the set time along with its picture, as did the WebMD app before they deleted that option. Currently, I must open the app on my phone and choose which pill to take whereas it would be much more convenient and helpful if the actual pill showed up on the Apple Watch or on the phone. Perhaps this might be done in the future. On a positive note, the developers respond quickly and helpfully and are to be commended for the interest they take in the opinions offered.
Handy app on the phone; Watch app almost never works. Probably the best medication reminder app available, and if you only use the phone. It’s really aggravating though when there’s a key feature that doesn’t work and you’ve tried working with the developer and it still doesn’t. The Apple watch app can only successfully log taking a medication when you have the application open on the phone. I’ve contacted the developer to be told “we’re working on it” or “it’ll be fixed in the next release.” I’ve been in the beta program and it hasn’t improved. Being the beta program you can see the iPhone app crashes when trying to log the medication from the watch and it prompts you to submit a crash report, which I’ve done many times. I have reverted back to the release versions and logging meds from the phone still doesn’t work.
It really helps me. This app is awesome Once you put in all your information. At least it has been for me. It reminds me to take it on time with an alarm that is good enough to get your attention but not obnoxious or annoying. It stores all your dr information even appointments. I love that it can take the medications you are on and tell you how they react w one another. This is especially helpful when you have several Dr. prescribing meds for you. It also will take the individual medications and give you all the information on how it works, what it is used for and how to take it. Ex: with or without food, don’t take dairy w it, avoid taking at nights... things that really help.. it even sends a little reminder to take your meds w you if you go somewhere! I haven’t been late or missed s dose since I began using this app.
Updated review — recent issues seem to be fixed!. The latest update has made a mess of my reminders. When I click on one med as being taken the app marks a totally different med as being taken. I have tried deleting that med and adding it back in but it still does the exact same thing. I have many years of Medisafe history and lots of scheduled meds and the thought of having to begin over from scratch is really upsetting. Hope Medisafe can get this fixed. If they can I’ll update this review because until now I really have liked the app a lot and have found it very helpful. Review Update I spent 4-5 days in close contact with support and the app appears to have been fixed! Yay! Back to being one of the best medication reminder apps available imho. I’m so glad they repaired whatever weirdness the last update caused. Thank you!
Really well done. I hardly ever review apps but this one has filled a need in my life so effectively that I have to give the team kudos. I really appreciate how simple the medication reminders are to setup, how modifiable the schedules are, & how simple it is to mark taken. I also very much appreciate the insistent reminders about refills— that has saved me having to scramble at the last minute several times already. One feature request— please enable more than one person to be able to manage a dependents medications. In our case, we have two people caring for an elderly high needs pet and being able to know by checking in the app which meds they got when & which they still need would be hugely helpful. I imagine there are lots of other people in similar situations with pets and children who have more than one caretaker.
Essential for Chronic Illness Sufferers. If you need to take meds spread throughout your day and either struggle to remember or simply have too many to reasonably remember, this app is for you! Because it not only alerts me but will also alert a person I designate (husband,) my pill schedule is so much less burdensome. So why the -1 star? The notification system is a little buggy, and I think it’s something to do with the phone communicating with the watch. Sometimes, I don’t get a watch notification at the exact time, but 10 or 20 min later. To be fair, though, it’s very very rare that I don’t get an alert within the hour. Sometimes it notifies me that my “person” has been alerted that I missed a med - 5 min after I just entered it. It’s a nearly perfect app and one that I’ve really come to rely on in my new normal of so many pills. If the notification system gets a few tweaks, I’ll happily amend my review.
“For You” took it from 5 to 2 stars. I’ve use this app for several years, and I always have thought it was great. I even have gotten my mom to start using it. However, in the last few months, they have introduced a new section called “for you.“ It has a badge number on it that supposedly indicates the number of unread articles. It is like a Facebook feed for their own app. That’s fine, I have found a few of the articles, interesting, but they keep putting “unread“ badge numbers on this hand, even after I have opened the feed. The worst that they constantly regurgitate the same content over and over, or even that they put new content mix below the old content, but rather that they keep putting badge numbers on that icon to try to tell me that I have unread articles or unviewed articles. Are they expecting me to click on every article to make the badge number go away? That’s totally ridiculous! And when I complained it to them telling them that they are mixing old content in with new, they asked for screenshots. Are you kidding me? 50 screenshots? because they asked for screenshots of old content mixed in with new content. Well, there was new content all the way at the bottom of the feed. So, I had to take 50 screenshots to give them the information. Needless to say, I only did that once. This is totally ridiculous! I will not change my review or rating until they fix this.
Very helpful app. Could have more features. I was delighted when I found out this app existed. I have multiple chronic conditions such as low thyroid, a sleep disorder, allergies, migraines, depression, and anxiety, and I take 9 medicines a day plus several vitamins. I’m actually great at remembering to take my medicines, but not everyone with that many medicines can do that. Remembering to order refills is difficult for me since I only get 30 day supplies, and the refill times are all staggered throughout the month. This app lets me know when I’m low on a medicine and it keeps the Rx number handy. Here are some suggestions to make the app even better: 1) For each medicine, make it so you can assign a pharmacy (including phone number and address). 2) Allow entry of an expiration date for medicine refills. I may have 2 refills left, but if that prescription expires in a week, I’ll need to contact my doctor. 3) Allow fractions of pills to be taken. I’m on an odd dose of two medicines. I take 2.5 thyroid pills a day and 3/4 of one antidepressant pill. I found a way to adjust the schedule so that it works correctly, but it was convoluted. For thyroid I put two entries; one where I take 3 thyroid pills every other day, and one where I take 2 pills thyroid on the alternate days. I allotted 3/5 of the pill count to the 3 per day entry so it would give me a reminder when I was running low.
Almost perfect. I really appreciate the time that was put into this app. It meets most of my needs. There is one major feature missing for me. The ability to have multiple user or multi device sign in. Why would I need that? Being the dad of 4 young kids and all of them having to take multiple medications it’s easier to have another parent be signed in to manage medicines. Yes there is the “Medfriend” functionality however it’s limited. They can’t check off that meds were dispensed nor can they adjust dosage. They don’t have access to all of the functions. So I’m the situation of two parents trying to work together to stay on top of their kids meds it isn’t easy with the current app abilities. It’s actually frustrating because when I’m not dispensing the meds I have to come hours later and go through the list with my wife because I’m the only one who can check off that it was taken.
Awesome. This is an awesome app. All meds in one place, very nice and easy UI to follow your meds schedule and track progress. Making dose adjustments is quick and easy as well. Interactions checker automatically checks how your meds interact with each other and warns you if it finds moderate or severe interactions, and you can always see all the interactions in the info tab of your meds. Would be great if the app showed refill date and the date you would run out of meds based on their schedule. For the meds you take on as needed basis would be nice to see when you would run out based how often you take that meds. Another great feature would be an ability to share your dependent’s meds (those that you manage in your app in a dependent’s account) with a medifriend without sharing your own meds.
Overall, a decent App but lacks important functionality. My suggestion is to allow for notes to be added to each medication, and more importantly, to each dose itself. I'm also not able to select, or input my own, condition or reason for the prescription. Wouldn’t that be useful data? If you could add those two pieces of functionality, I’d be changing this to a 4-5 star review. Especially if you can provide either the information or a link to the information that would usually come with your first time taking a given medications; to including such things as safety information for a given medication as well as a more technical informational page for Pharmacists, Doctors, patients’ who happen to have a degree in biochemistry or related, and who balked to understand the medication and pharmacology better the more technical it becomes.
Most helpful and least disruptive med tracking app. If you are looking for an easy solution to med logging, this app is for you. I’ve been using Medisafe for years, enough to have seen its clunkier days. Happy to report that today, this app is polished and working super well. If you are looking to just track your meds and have a handy reminder to take them, this app is perfect for that. It is super easy to set up and to use. What I also appreciate is that it doesn’t lock functionality behind paywalls and doesn’t relentlessly try to get you to use its other features. It just does its job without disruptions. I also am in love with logging meds taken by just long pressing the notification, its brilliant. A nice bonus are some extra nifty features, if you’re into detailed logging. There’s a refill reminder, a huge catalogue of medical information on medications, med interaction detector (like what pills shouldn’t be taken with which pills, or alcohol interaction, etc), appointment tracker, doctor finder, and probably a bunch of other cool features I’m forgetting. Overall, this is my staple go-to app I install on my new phone immediately.
Just What We Needed. We were starting to get overwhelmed with meds and when to take what. This app is just what we needed. After getting everything set up, it reminds us of all our scheduled meds, and is easy to add dosages of nonscheduled meds. I would give 5 stars, except for a few items. First, I wish it provided a way to print all the medications instead of just emailing it. For a Dr visit, being able to just hand them an updated list would be helpful. Also, on the meds list, the option to sort by scheduled meds over non-scheduled meds. Lastly, I appreciate it as a free app, and would happily pay a small amount for the basic functionality, but the only option is the monthly/annual subscription for the premium option, which I don’t need. I believe in paying the developers for their work. I highly recommend this app.
Easy, effective, and great reminders!. This app has been great to manage my sons medications! As he has several with different types of application and times to be given, this app has been the only way my husband and I could keep everything straight! It’s easy to setup, use, and I love that the reminders are simple but effective! My favorite part is that the reminders show up on my Apple Watch! As the medication doses change or one medicine changes, it’s extremely easy to update medications as well! This is better than any tracking method I could have come up with! My only wish was that my husband and I could both track the medications from our respective phones for our son using the same central schedule. I think it’s available in premium, but I’m not sure. It would make managing the medications slightly easier. However, overall we love Medisafe and it’s ease of use!
It’s good but missing the bar of great.. iPhone 13 pro max on iOS 15 works pretty good but notifications have failed. Aggravating of course but I’m in covid protocols that call for a lot of inhalers etc. everything is in correctly but the notifications failed on about 20%. Another thing is that I thought it would get progressively louder or more aggressive as the time limit increased from missing and it did not. That’s on me though, not the app. Where I think this would be really nice is on the Apple Watch platform. I wore my watch hoping it would wake me up with more aggressive notifications and vibrations and that didn’t happen. Devs, work a way for that! Especially for those that have 24 hour regimens into the late night and morning. Where the watch aggressively wakes someone up. :) thanks
Great when it works.. Update button doesn’t work. Glitchy. iPhone version - which you CANNOT sync with this or any other device - works well, ironically (b/c did I mention, you can’t sync?). This situation is very frustrating, namely for someone who is neurotic & can’t seem to let it go. Which is why I have spent the last hour trying to adjust the end dates of various meds (that had passed their end date) only to find the update button unresponsive....and my meds - after all the trouble - STILL not showing up on missed/future dates. ALL THAT SAID, as a person who just went through 5 years of Cancer treatments - and LOTS OF MEDS - I am/will always be extremely grateful for this app/the makers...for keeping me on track and allowing me to focus on getting well instead of counting/remembering pills & managing meds. So thank you for THAT!
Amazing. Out of all the apps I’ve downloaded on my phone, this is likely one of the most important. I downloaded not expecting very much, but it’s so much more than I every expected. The setup is so easy to put in different medications and I really appreciate the extra little pictures of the pills. I was able to put in all of my many medications without any troubles, and set up reminders so that when I was running low on the amount left. As I kept doing this I expected to hit a paywall and I didn’t, everything was free so far and it’s exceeded all my expectations. I struggle to remember to take meds because of memory stuff, but this is so much better than just setting a million of reminders on my phone. I have nothing but praise for this app, 10/10
Excellent app. Despite a bit of a learning curve and a few flaws, this app performs very well. Since starting to use it several months ago, I have missed a dose of meds only once, whereas before, I averaged once a week. Setup is a little cumbersome but once running, it’s easy to use and the Apple Watch app works great. On the watch, there is not a Take All choice if you don’t take your meds close in time to the notification and you have to tick off each med individually. This could use improvement. And if you make a mistake restoring an original time zone, fixing the med times is annoyingly difficult as there is no iOS manual time zone adjustment. The developer is working on fixing this problem. I’m a physician and highly recommend the app.
If you are on any medications, this is a must!. The title says it. For real, even if you are only on one medication, I would strongly recommend using this app. I downloaded this app after receiving ankle surgery. I went from being on no medications to 5, all with varying times and dosages. I needed help. This app made what could have been a very overwhelming experience rather simple. You enter each medication, dosage time, amount, and frequency, and it creates a schedule for you. That’s exactly what I needed. When it’s time to take a medication, the app will alert you. It will continue to send out alerts until you have marked that dose as “taken” or “skipped”. It’s a perfect system (at least for me!). Some other notable features…. - Reports (you can view reports on your medication history, showing how many doses were taken and missed.) - Health Tracking (track your symptoms- for example… pain, mood, drowsiness) - Interaction Tracker and medication education! - Medifriend (Add a friend to your account, and they will be alerted if you miss doses! Great for safety and accountability). I must note, I did not upgrade to the paid version. So I cannot speak to that… But what I can say is, I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything being on the free version! Wonderful tool. Good job, Medisafe!
Good pill reminder but could be more. As a pill reminder is works great. I don’t use the ability to have some one else notified bout that is a great addition. It lacks in other features. I tried to import from pharmacy and got a white screen with no response. Import from Apple health worked good, but would be nice if it only pulled active prescriptions over. To check interactions you have to manually enter other pill. App provided no information on pills. Would be great if it could give side effects, know interactions etc. or at least link to other web site for info. You should not need to enter pill photo. It should give pill photo or give a choice for generics. Would be nice if there was a better assortment of reminder sounds. I don’t want the app to be telling me to take my pills, especially not when around others. But a more distinctive sound would be good. Or the ability to use imported ring tones.
Literally the best medication app EVER. I love everything about this app!!!! It is the ONLY reason that I managed to remember to take my birth control after I was prescribed thyroid medication (you can’t take these two medications within four hours of each other). Its also kept track of the round of two antibiotics (one every six hours for five days, the next every eight hours for two weeks) and one antifungal (one every other day for two weeks) that I had to take in addition to my regular medications! (You can add start & end dates in addition to frequency for each individual medication.) Its incredibly intuitive in every single way, and has the ability to completely personalize it, even in ways that I haven’t needed. There is only one single thing that I would like to see! There’s already a button to go to ‘today’, & ones to toggle between weeks, but it would be very nice to have buttons that take you directly to each day over; as in, the day before the one you’re currently viewing, & a button for the day after you’re currently viewing. I work late at night on the weekends, and it would be nice to not need to flip through the whole week to mark off the medication I take before bed.
Good ideas, okay implementation, poor support.. I’m a big fan of this app as it helps me keep track of as-needed meds. Until this app I never realized how often I took them. I took off two stars for poor support and bugs. So so many bugs. I have some vision issues and use Accessibility on my iPhone. I was finding it hard to identify which pills had a green check, blue exclamation point, or nothing at all. When I emailed to ask if a different, more obvious, indicator could be used, I was told that the app already had indicators in the form of green checks, red exclamation points. When I replied, I received no follow up email. Other emails to support have gone unanswered. Requests to join Beta Community go ignored. The app also has a ton of little bugs. Notifications work, then they don’t. The time box disappears from the Today menu. Editing time of medication requires a force-quit and restart to get the app to reflect the new time. My biggest annoyance though, and the one thing that will get me to stop using the app altogether, is that the app has no sense of scroll location. I scroll to find a med, click through and then back - I’m at the top of the page. Logging as-needed meds, scroll to the medication, mark a dose and save - I’m at the top of the page again. This is one of the easiest issues to fix and it drives me CRAZY. If it doesn’t get fixed, I know I will delete the app the next time I get annoyed.
Superb. Great, simple, easy to use reminder. I used this to keep track of the 4 medications I take and it has totally kept me on track. I had issues taking some of my medicines and getting better and then forgetting to take them or thinking I did not need them anymore. This app gives you simple, nice reminders to take your medicine at the times you put. It also allows you to add a friend/family member who gets a notice if you haven’t taken a med or haven’t marked it off. This helps as well as I can have someone keeping me on track and texting or calling me and reminding me what happens when I do not take certain medication. Overall this app is 5 stars... simple, clean, easy, and keeps me on track with my meds. Fantastic app, I don’t remember the price for the full version but it is well worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY! Absolutely fantastic! 10 stars!
Great App, Could Use Improvement. Overall I love this app. I have ADHD and in addition to reminding me to take my meds on time, it helps me with time management since I do other things at the same time as I take certain meds (eat, get ready for bed, etc.). The one thing I wish they would add is an option to note the pharmacy name and contact information for each medication. I use 3 different pharmacies (reasons 😩) and would like to have the phone numbers/websites visible on the app to make refilling easier. Also, it would be nice to have the option to select refill reminders to be on a specific date rather than when I have a certain number of pills left, since sometimes that falls on a Sunday when the pharmacy isn’t open. Still a lot better than trying to remember it all myself though, lol.
WORTH. EVERY. PENNY.. As someone who takes daily meds up to 3 times a day, this app has changed my life. It’s not just a series of reminders - you get reports on how much you stuck to your meds, reminders to refill them at the pharmacy, an interactions checker, and you can even add a friend! That’s perfect for me, because now my mom always knows that I’m taking my meds and she will get a notification if I don’t take them in 35 minutes. And thank goodness for the interactions checker!! I was prescribed anti-nausea medicine after a trip to the ER, and would have taken it if I hadn’t checked that it could have severe interactions with my other meds! My psychiatrist was very happy I didn’t take those meds from the ER.) I would rate this app 6 stars if I could. This is by far the most practical thing I’ve spent money on IN. MY. LIFE.
Could be 4-5 stars except…. Don’t use on an iPad. (It might be super on other devices.) 1) There’s no way to take a pill early or skip it. The system will still alert you with a pop-up and sound. 2) Dates suddenly were wonky. Today is Sunday. I went into the app and it showed Friday. I tapped today’s medicine and it went to Thursday. I finally uninstalled/reinstalled and no settings were saved. 3) I emailed support, got an auto response that they were about 14 days behind, and when they did respond inabout 14 days, they only asked if I was still having the problem. IOW they didn’t respond to the questions. There are tons of cute settings — you want your tone to sound like Austin Powers? No problem. But the most basic, important settings don’t work well. It could be a 5-star app, and I’ll check occasionally to see if anything’s improved, and if so change my rating. But for now they pile on more and newer options and leave the basics behind.
I like the app so far, but.... My reminders are not obvious. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong, but I’ve never heard the tone. I have an iPhone 11 and I have looked through settings and tried to make sure it’s working properly. But it has not yet reminded me to take one thing that I would have forgotten. Instead I use it as a supplement logger. I think it will improve, so I’m hanging in for now. In terms of logging I’m also hoping for growth. The app said it was Apple Health connected, but it’s for metrics that I track elsewhere. When you set up a new medicine, it is not clear whether the dosage should be per pill, or for the combination, if you take multiples. I am hoping that in the future this will be really clear, and that the dosage will connect with Apple Health. That way I will end up with a permanent log of: 3g vitamin c taken on date. I suspect this will happen in the future. Otherwise, very nice app. Allows me to keep tabs on the sheer volume of supplements that I take.
Very helpful, one suggestion for +1 star. Firstly, I have been using this app every day for many years. There have been little frustrations here and there with the user interface, but I can’t recall having any issue that resulted in me missing any of my multiple, daily medications. I have mistakenly taken medications at the wrong time, or more commonly marked the wrong one at the wrong time, however. *** My suggestion is: give an option to set and display the reminder times in 24 HOUR clock. For my “every 12 hour” meds this is a more easily readable, quicker, accurate and visually apparent time reading. *** Too often, due to having phone muted for example, missed the three alarms for 10:00 AM med, I remember after meeting at 11:12 take it and mistakenly tap that I took the 10:00 PM med b/c it’s first thing I see. Here’s the issue: I do not get my alarm to take it at 10:00 PM. If it displayed 22:00 that would be very visually obvious to me. Also some UI text is very small.
Perfect. I’m a behavioral health clinical pharmacist and the parent of a special needs kid with a complex medication regimen. This app has been amazing for my family and my patients. The med buddies are an incredible option to help keep on track, and the various layouts with pull images really help those who struggle with their regimen complexity. I do like that there’s clinical information and an interaction checker, but the interactions are simplistic and flag all patients for adverse effects that would only apply to a few. I’d recommend stronger language to encourage patients to talk with their pharmacist in addition to their providers, since we’re easier to get ahold of, and language encouraging patients to use only one pharmacy, and to share all meds with that pharmacy, over the counter included. Thanks!
Great App! Would get again.. Using this app has helped me improve how often I take my pills by a lot! I upgraded to the premium service so I can keep track of medications for my family members too. This is so helpful. It nags you just the right amount. It doesn’t annoy me. It just reminds. It is pretty easy to figure out. It’s very logical. I was looking for something really helpful, and this is it. I’ve used other med reminder apps before. This is my fave. It’s not too complicated. It works really well. I manage several medications for me, my husband, and several kids. It was an obvious choice as soon as I entered in my information. I immediately wanted access for my family members. I was tired of running out of meds for my kids because I was managing too many prescriptions. I have no regrets. I don’t have enough good things to say.
All my needs met. My wife is on 10+ medicines. This last one broke our schedule as it had to be taken 4 times a day with 2 hours before and after other medicines PLUS a food restriction of 1 hour before eating or 2 hours afterwards. It blew my mind. I started a time consuming diary to track of medications and eating. I found the schedule got wrecked almost every day due to activities, doctors visits or just taking badly needed nap. This app addresses all those issues. All her medicines scanned in. Schedules were set up. Medicines can be snoozed. I find the diary is helpful to track related information. Extra doses can be added. There are reminders though the rattle of a pill bottle sounds like a rattlesnake at first! Maybe I can change that. Haven’t looked yet. I’m very happy with this product.
Almost Perfect 👍🏻. There’re some little things that the app lacks and I think the following should be there. 1. Number of pills left shown on the Apple Watch app for each medication. 2. Adjustable time and number of notification alerts for critical notifications 📢 📣. I even set an alarm for one of my medications that is crucial to take. 3. Home Screen, Lock Screen and Apple Watch widgets need to pack way more than what they are packing right now. There should be a weekly tick mark dots showing a 7 day taken or skipped medication indicator for the Lock Screen widget. The Home Screen widget should be something similar with small medium and large widget showing much more details of taken or skipped medications. I hope the developer of the app start working on those features. It’s not a gaming app or some normal app that if left outdated no one should care. It’s an app that lives of thousands of people are depend on it. P. S. 4. Integration with IFTTT so as to create alarms of a medication was missed for a set amount of time. I thank God that at least we have such an app. With Apple being lazy so much so that in 2022 they added medication section for the health app. I cannot stress this anymore, it is a life saver app and the developers need to pay attention to it. ✌🏻
Last few updates ruined this app. I’ve been relying on this app for several years to keep track of the many medications I have to take every day because the app I had been using stopped being updated. However, after updating the app the last few times this app has gotten where it constantly freezes, so I can’t mark when I take medications or get notifications to take medications. This has become extremely dangerous for me because I’ve accidentally taken two doses or taken medications at the wrong time. I’ve waited to leave this review in the hopes that they would fix this instead of spending all their time focusing on the new articles and quizzes in the “For You” section, but they haven’t fixed the bugs that they created by introducing that section. I don’t know why you would destroy a very helpful app, especially when it’s dealing with something as dangerous as tracking medications.
Super helpful - Good reminders!. I take multiple medications, including one three times a day for narcolepsy. This really helps me stay on track, as I’m super busy as is. And it’s customizable, too! Set your own times and very easy to track your medication habits. You can even set the time that you took your medication in case you need to know the specific time since your last dose. Very quick, simple, and effective. I appreciate this app and the developers’ work. One thing I would like to see, however, would be more drop-down functions when it comes to notifications (like skipping the medication without having to open the app). Right now I believe the only options are take and snooze. Either way. Great app. I look forward to seeing what you all do in the future and how you can further improve an already-great app!
This is the best medicine tracking app I have tried. This is the best medicine tracking app I have tried. Over the years I have probably tried 10 or apps. I don’t use all the features of Medisafe but since I take 16 meds a day, including pain meds. Keeping track what take and when to take it if very important and would be difficult without an app like Medisafe. I does a great job of reminding when I should take my medicine and what meds to take. It is easy to setup and use with information grouped together so that it is clear and informative. I have recommended this app to many of my friends. I have recommended this to several nurses and others in the medical profession and they have all liked what they saw. This is a great app and if you have not tried it yet, you should download it and start using it today.
Great app for the price. I have had a few medicine apps before and this one is by far the best one I have used! It has only been a few days but so far I am really happy with it. I like the subtle reminder. One app I had gave me so much stress because of the constant reminder to take my pills. I know I have pills to take, I just need an app that tells me when that time rolls around if I am busy, not a constant, continual reminder. This app tells me, then puts a reminder in my list. Easy. I love the Apple Watch assistant that I can use as well. The app is very intuitive and easy to navigate and use. It is nice to be able to go back and record taking a pill if I forgot to log it when taking it. You can even specify the time you took the pill earlier in the day. Great app!
Best Medicine Tracker. I have been using this app for literally years and it has worked wonders on keeping me on task with my meds. I am able to truthfully tell my medical professionals that yes, I do take my meds and I have the proof to show them (they have never asked for proof). I also like the pics of the pills that can be selected. This powerful app has taken care of all my needs and best of all, it is free! As someone with (adult) ADHD, this app has been a lifesaver. Incidentally, when my daughter had a stem cell transplant late last year, this app was one of the apps recommended for tracking the many meds that are required after leaving the hospital. If it is good enough for a nationwide top ten hospital, it is definitely good enough for me!
Great! But Lots of potentially problematic glitches. It is very handy in regards to getting reminders, but being someone that has some memory problems it is disheartening to know that sometimes the update to meds, don’t reflect to the Medfriend side. And sometimes the Medifriend doesn't see that you have taken your meds or they get a notification that you didn’t take your medication, when I in fact have. Which could be VERY problematic if I didn’t always check the app first before going and taking another dosage because they got a notification that I forgot to. So as soon as there is a patch between the main account and the Medfriend this app will be wonderful. But either way it is still wonderful if you just need a personal reminder to take meds. Very useful reminder that will continue to remind you until you mark it.
Thoughts from a Medicine Skipper 🤔. Using this app is changing my life. I love the little bottle shaking it do and it’s like you can hear the medicine. Lol 😂. This feature made me want to start taking the medicine for real. I also like how it keeps reminding you. You might feel bugged the first couple days (if you a med skipper) but then it grows on you. Now I’m prepared for the sound got some food and something to drink ready. Just me and the app 😫. Thank y’all really. It also shows facts about your medicine which is a plus I know I wanted to look at the side effects and it was cool I could look in the app instead of having to exit and go to google. Wonderful app really! Can’t wait to see what else it does as time goes on….. ❤️
Terrible for frequent travelers!!!. Updated review Oct 2019: Just returned from a trip to the east coast. Told the app NOT to change my reminder time based on new time zone and when I return home it STILL asks me if I want to switch time zones...again...I tap NO and now there are TWO reminders for the same morning. Ugh. For frequent travelers to different tome zones, this app is an utter pain. I’ve tried everything and the app is just NOT good on this point. PLEASE GIVE ME THE OPTION TO SIMPLY TURN OFF TIME ZONE NOTIFICATIONS!!! And I’ve tried the “refresh reminder zones” multiple times...it does nothing. Every time I travel this issue drives me nuts. Original review: Overall a decent app I’ve been using for about a year. Recently, I’ve been traveling a lot. For the second time the time zone shift has screwed up my reminder so that I have to go back and change the times for my med reminder. The app does automatically ask the user if you would like to shift to the new time zone you’re in. I’ve said yes and then I see that when I’m home the reminder is now off by two hours. There’s something wrong with the app because this has only happened in the past few months and was not happening previously. Overall the app is good but this time some adjustment issue is pretty annoying. I wish you could just tell it what time zone you’re in so that when you’re home you can tell it you’re back in California and all is good.
Almost perfect. I’m currently using two pill reminder apps simultaneously. The Round App and this one. Pros: I can snooze the meds. I really love that feature because I take A LOT OF MEDS. And many of them I have to take with food so I have to eat every couple of hours. Sometimes I’m either not hungry yet or I’m not home so I haven’t eaten. The snooze feature is the best. I also like that it reminds me more than once so once I finally eat, I don’t forget. Interactions- this is a great feature. I don’t remember having been told about an interaction with two of my meds and that a simple waiting a few hours between them would help the effectiveness of my medication. I find this useful. I have the Drugs app so I double checked and sure enough, it was there. I haven’t used it, but I like that I have the option to export and send my weekly progress. I’m sure there are many more pros since I have not built a complete profile. Cons: I don’t find the home interface easy to use. I like the Round App much more use friendly and that’s the only reason I have not deleted that one. A simple check on each medication as I take it is so simple. That’s how I use to do it on paper before my app. Clear and easy to read. Other than that, I love this app.
Concerned about Privacy, basically none. If you read the privacy ALL the way through, first it says info but not connected to you and later it says your contact info then discusses use with advertising or marketing. All combined with the “I’m not yet sure if I believe it but DO suspect it” no-option acceptance of Apple’s iPhone agreement which supposedly has buried in it the option of possible sales of collected health data… all is feeling a bit uncomfortable. WHY CANT THERE BE JUST ONE HEALTH APP SUCH AS THIS FOR MEDICATIONS, THAT CAN REMAIN PRIVATE?? Perhaps eventually I may have to turn as others have to the independent world of volunteer creators to get away from Apple and Microsoft and others. Good things often get used for bad things. I first thought this when hospitals and doctors all began putting all health data in one databank and accessed by one app. A great idea but there’s no way insurance companies, actuaries etc., wouldn’t give a lot to get that info.
Detailed, customizable, intuitive. I’ve been dealing with a severe COVID complication for the past eight months, with lots of medicines and lots of changes to medication as doctors determined what was going on. On top of that, doctors asked me to track my weight, how nauseous I was, and any side effects. All the while, I’m exhausted and “out of it.” This app has made managing ALL of that easy. It’s intuitive (except adding measurements from the main screen could be simpler; you have to do a lot of duplicate tapping), highly customizable, and the amount of detail is amazing. I love being able to snooze/reschedule doses, edit or add notes to individual doses, and see interaction. I also like that I can add my own annoying alert tone so I definitely don’t miss a medication! Thank you for making a difficult time in my life a little easier. You’re doing great work.
Very useful, minor tweaks recommended. This app appears to have more features than I need. I just need a simple app to remind me to take my meds and, more importantly, remind me what time I took the am dose so I don’t take the pm dose too soon. But the extra features don’t interfere with that, so I’m ok with it. I wish I could turn off the “weekly summary” notification. I don’t need it, and all it does is annoy me and tempt me to turn off all notifications, which kind of defeats the point. I don’t always log at the time that I take it; it’s sometimes 10-20 minutes later. Because of this, the method for setting the time I took it is really annoying. If I log it more than an hour after it’s scheduled I’m given some options “Take Now”, “On Time”, and “Set Time”. But if I log it just 20 minutes late, the app automatically sets the time to “Now”. Since one of my meds requires I wait an hour before eating (or taking other meds), those 10-20 minutes do matter. I tend to log it right before starting other activities that will make me forget what time I took that first pill, so this kinda screws me up. Please allow the option to set (or change) the time taken for all entries, not just the really-late ones. Some meds have to be taken “every 4 hours” or some other interval. It would be nice if the reminder for the PM does would adjust if I take the first dose late.
Overall great app. I take multiple meds (10+) at 6 different times on multiple different days and some monthly, and this app can handle all the weirdness. There are a few odd bugs. 1. The Med descriptions aren’t consistent throughout the app, ie I have injections daily that the app calls pills, same with a powder or ointment. It would be nice if when you set the type of Med to take the app would refer to it as medication or dose rather than pills. But it is great that you can set the medication description, say a green capsule. That makes it easy to identify that you are taking the right pill. 2. The medication import feature didn’t work and it wasn’t clear if that was a bug or a premium feature. 3. In several places you couldn’t tell that what you were trying to do was a premium feature until you actually tried to do it, which is frustrating, 4. I wish you could use your own voice recording for the notifications. The premium ones sound cute but, I’m not paying money for that and I’d like to be able to say something specific in the reminder alert. 5. The medication drop down label is in too large a font and it covers the text on that screen. 6. The medication drop down search list coul be more robust and include the generic names as well as the brand names. But this is a good solid app.
