Best app for accessing USGS real-time data. I'm an aquatic ecologist and frequently need to check on gauge height to when wading is possible, so this app is a neat trick.

Useful app. With the ability to create favorites, Riverdata makes it easy to re-visit the rivers you want to track. It shows all USGS measures at each location (sometimes that's only the depth). I'd give it 5 stars but it has recently lost the ability to show any time span other than the default 7 days. It used to be able to show any number between 1-119 days. When that is fixed, I'll add the fifth star. Update: The developer said the problem was with USGS, contacted them, and reported back that the issue was resolved--and it was. All in one day, so 5 stars.

Please update the App!. When you want to choose the state it kicks you off the App.

The best free river app.. I took a few tries but I finally found the free river app that I was looking for! Instantly pulls up usgs data from any station. Cfs and height included. This is just what I have been searching for and found it! Thanks!!!

Best features yet!. I LOVE the new map section that was just added. It makes it perfect for people who are traveling outside their normal area and are not sure what bodies of water are near them but still want to be able to check before they head out. Well done guys!!

Needs work. Can't load California

River data. Great to learn and compare from Before and after kayak trips I use here in mo And know what I'm getting into to avoid bad situations and can now read the river patterns knowledge is power.

Just what I was looking for!. Glad to give the first review! I'm giving this app 5 stars because it has made my 68 year old neighbor so happy. He is transitioning from a PC to iPhone, and he needed a way to check the water levels of local rivers to plan his fishing trips. I was afraid he would have to fumble through safari to find this data, but luckily I came across this awesome app that puts all the USGS data at his fingertips! It does have room for improvement but I'm sure that will be addressed in future updates. The biggest thing I can see right now is that a full screen view for the chart is needed. Maybe a fit to screen option if you turn the phone sideways. That would make it easier to read while charting over a period of time. Thanks for the great app!

Great app. It is always important to know river flow. This app is always right on. I check this even before the weather for my next weekend trip. Why bother if the water is too high to wade in??

My “go to” Fishing App. I’ve consistently used River Data for the last 8 years. I’ve tried many, but this app provides all the essential information around CFS, water temperatures, gauge height and turbidity. I literally do not head out on the water without checking the River Data first. The information in this app have transformed the way I fish, the rivers I choose on any given day and how I plan before venturing out. Thank you River Data for providing a vital source of information to maximize my fishing experiences!!

buggy still. I've had this app for many months. The data is useful and well formatted, but it crashes or fails to load more than once every time I try to use it. Need to fix loading issues!

App don’t work.. App don’t work. Used to work great but just one day it decided it’s not gonna work anymore I have no idea why. . I tried everything. Even sent an email to app creator but no response. Hopefully app creator responds here. Very frustrated

Love it. I look at a couple of gauges in Texas everyday for business purposes. Been doing this since before the data was on the net. Could't have our dredges swept away by a fast moving flood. This will be a great, fast tool that will let me see the gauges' data I need without having to remember the USGS's website address. One suggestion, let me sort my favorite gauges in my own order vs alphabetically. Thanks.

Whitewater Kayaker. Great app! Would be better if you could set alerts when a river was at a certain level.

Crapy update. Use to work great now wth update doesn't work at all favorites all gone can't get them back it crashes every time!!!!! Thanks for a great update :(

Map update. I really like the map update, have been waiting for this feature. Tried to map direction to several rivers, but found Apple map works better than Google.

problems need to be addressed. I have same issues with Favorites list (above) but even more concerning, it won't seem to refresh to current time/date unless you back all the way out to the main list before returning to the gauge you are interested in. I can get gauge info quicker thru web browser. Useless app until it can refresh and maintain proper Favorites list.

Great app. Much easier than the USGS website.

App is ruined after update!!. Favorites were lost. Favorite button moved from right to center. App crashes when try to look at any stream.

Good app, but issues. App is great and useful, but the favorite page has issues. Each time I click on the favorite page, random stations show up along with my favorites. I delete the random ones and they are back each time I click on favorites again. Fix and 5 stars.

Best River Flow App.. The highest rated app does not have all the river gages like this one. For me, this app is superior, easy to use and has all the data you need

Just stopped working. An app that I used for kayaking all the time. Very useful tool. When it was up, it was great. Then it just all the sudden stopped working. When you try and go to a state, it kicks you out of the app. Hopefully this can be corrected. Gotta find a new app for the mean time.

Handy. Great app to easily deliver USGS data, quicker than using safari and going to the website. Great for canoeing or kayaking. Only issue is that I can get all states to work except Alabama. It gets stuck on the "Building river table..."

Very Handy. Simple and effective. Easily able to check the water levels and temperature near my house before I head out for a run and swim with the dog.

Crashes immediately when pressing a state. This app crashes as soon as I try to select a state. It used to work. I don’t know what happened. It works OK on my iPad but not my phone

Great app needs update. This app has been great but lately I can't get Calif Rivers loaded after several attempts including shutting everything down and reopening😕

Suggestion. I fly fish in colorado and it is alright for what I need but it misses a lot of major gauging stations. Especially on the south platte, the colorado and many others.

No Support. Great app; but USGS terminated some gauges and set some new ones, so I emailed the developer weeks ago to advise them to reconfig the data collection points to active gauges, but no response. Unfortunate as the function of the app is great.

Great site. But. Your list of sites in a given state starts out with a long list of sites that are groundwater wells. It takes a lot of scrolling to get to the first actual river site. For example, in Virginia, the first site is 09E 10 SOW 233 this is a well. Just edit out all the names that start with numerals.

River data. It doesn’t work on IOS 16 9/9/23 @9:17 pm the app is still not working Sorry to bring u the bad news thx for replying

Great interface, missing stations/sites. I like the interface and format of the data presented, but does not have all the stations/sites that I can easily locate on the web in my area (CO).

Limited Data. App does not provide all sources of data at stations it monitors. Specifically for CO where I live. I know what data is available from the stations I looked at and the app only showed partial info. Also does not tap into all available stations on our local rivers.

Data. This is the best app I have found for the job of keeping you updated on the h2o stats

Good Info, Bad Interface. Let me start by saying that this app has some really useful info. It seems to have all of the river gages I need in my area. The downside is the UI. When you try to pull up the map, sometimes it will only show part of the map in the upper left corner and be missing the top of the map. The best way I know how to describe it is as if the map is positioned wrong and should be moved down and to the right to make the whole thing show up.

Crash and dump. I would give it zero if I could. First, I had multiple saved gauges as favorites and in the new update it dumped ALL of them. Lastly, whenever I try to access a river gauge the app freezes, crashes, and closes. Completely useless as of now.

Great app. Does everything I need it to. Was having issues with the graph being stuck on 7 days and emailed support and within hours had a response that a fix was sent to the App Store and that just uploaded today and the graph works. Great for planning a trip to see trends and how fast a river will drop to fishable levels.

Recommended for kayak, tubing, boating. I use it to check different river levels & flow for tubing. Connects to USGS river monitors to give you real time accurate data. Recommended for all activities taking place in a river. Very convenient, thank you.

New update graphs not updating. Just an FYI to developers. Update on 6/7/16 gauge graphs are stuck at 6/5/16 and app is not fetching graph data. First app I go to on the morning! Great app always recommend to clients

Not yet😟.. Agh - looks like it would be great -nice layout, easy to navigate, etc.. BUT, unfortunately, it does NOT populate fields (I.e., no info). Hope developers fix!

A must have for Paddlers!. Great app for easily dialing in on the river and closest gauge to where you'll be going on the water. Quick scrolling between date ranges for historical data up to 120 days. Both CFS and gauge height graphs with links to maps and driving directions. Delivers what it says and very much worth the price. You can also build a list of favorites by just tapping a star on the upper right when you're checking out a river! Great feature. Responsive tech support that actually gets back to you if you have questions. 5 Stars!!!
