Best Hurricane Tracking App. I moved to Miami in 2011 and first saw Max Mayfield on the ABC Channel 7- WPLG Weather reports. I was impressed with his explanation of Hurricanes and the information information related for the public’s knowledge of what’s coming our way. I downloaded the “Max Tracker Hurricane WPLG” app in 2011 and today, in the 2020 Hurricane Season, this app continues to provide critical information for Hurricane Tracking from the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico as the storms head our way and making landfall on our US Coast. Thanks Max for all your work in Hurricane Tracking.

Weather News. Living in South Florida, the weather can change at any time. This app keeps me up to date every day. I check this out every day to see what weather is coming this way.

Quick and Accurate. I like having this tool at my finger tips! I can easily see what is happening with the weather quickly! I don’t have to search and hope I’ll get a site with accurate information.. it’s clear and trustworthy!

GREAT APP!!!!!. This is a great app which has been extremely helpful. I have been keeping an eye on a hurricane coming towards where I live and this app has been giving me frequent updates that help with my planning decisions. It allows you to see the hurricanes path, where it has been, and where it will affect most. It also gives you updates on the categories of the hurricane. I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a great hurricane tracker!

So so app. Good app except I can’t read the names of the models because they are now darkened- I used to be able to read them in the past but somehow they are now too dark to read - would be welcomed to have them readable again

Hurricane Dorian. This has been absolutely wonderful for us we reside in Port Orange Florida but have been in Spain for the summer and you are our only communication besides family members so everything we see your videos you’re everything has been a tremendous help and some sort of relief or non-relief or whatever that we need just not knowing has been so terrible!! Thank you so much and the more current you can keep it the better and hopefully you can go up the coast and let us keep us informed of things that are happening

Reliable & accurate. 4 years of following this app’s forecasts has made me a dedicated follower! Correct forecasts & warnings make our family aware of storms w/o exaggerated hype. Notifications also are a comfort allowing us to prepare in time for our safety. Living along the coast is definitely more predictable for us!

Hard times working on the Beach. Hi. I’m sure you’re job is very hard. And I’d like you to I watch the weather reports like I read the Bible. But one thing I would like ALL weather reporters to know is a lot of viewers plan their daily plans and weekly plans due to weather reports. I can’t even count how many times you all have said.., and I quote “NOT A GOOD BEACH DAY”....Or .. “ The weekend is going to be “A WASH OUT “. And it doesn’t even rain. MOST times not even a sprinkle. That puts me and ALL my co-workers standing around not making ANY MONEY because there isn’t ANY Customers coming in for lunch, the pool,or the BEAUTIFUL BEACHES we All live here in south Florida. If I may suggest PLEASE don’t tell people about rain. Maybe tell them to DEFINITELY TAKE A CHANCE... if it rains there are MANY WONDERFUL RESTAURANTS that they can ALWAYS duck into and watch for RAINBOWS OR maybe come dance in the rain with all the GREAT server. as long as there isn’t any lighting. Anyway it’s just my thoughts that you you asked for LOL

Love Max, more importantly love this app.. Ever since they established it, I depend on the Max Tracker when ever any tropical storm or hurricane is threatening. It becomes my Bible. I check it daily at different times to get updates. I used the weather channel app, but not during a hurricane or tropical storm. I recommend it highly.

The Most Accurate Weather Forecast. A couple of years ago, I had to move back home to Maryland from Pembroke Pines. My daughter has lived in South Florida (Miami) for many years. Channel 10 guided us through a couple of hurricanes, with the utmost accuracy. Although I live 1100 miles away, I still use Max Tracker to get accurate updated weather forecasts for south Florida. It’s the only weather channel/app that I use to prepare and ensure the safety of my daughter.

Love this app when I lived in South Florida. Love this app when I lived in South Florida. I live in Tennessee now and still use this app weather news up here is so out dated and never really show my area on radar or my town. I pull up this app and I know where the storms are in my area.

Needs more prompt updates and better graphics. This is super disappointing because this was my favorite apps for many years. The graphics are not good or specific anymore the information is delayed. I’m pretty sure the spaghetti models didn’t get updated within the past 24 hours and there is a hurricane close to land fall. This used to be the best app to get clear and concise data with great graphics very quickly and now it’s not that.

Weather all over the World. I love to show my friends how this App will show me the weather and the landscape all over the World. Use it to show what the Mosque in Mecca looks like or the Sydney Opera House. It’s never raining in Mecca and usually raining in Sydney when I look. I also use it when I travel to see if it will rain where I want to go. Wonderful App!

Longer time. When checking the local weather, need to see the local wx movement for a longer period of time to get a better assessment of what is happening and what might be coming.

Essential app for hurricane season. Great app to keep up with storm tracking... only gripe for me is too many notifications. Asking for local storms only does not seem to limit notifications for storms that have moved hundreds of miles away. I like the notifications for approaching storms but why the constant stream of continuing notifications for storms moved hundreds of miles away, some a thousand miles from us and dying out. It's a small issue but aggravating when it fills the notification list with useless notices for storms that passed by days ago. Let me know if it turns back for some strange reason, otherwise end the notifications when it passes. Otherwise I'd consider it an essential app for us in SoFlo. The plan and prepare section with contacts for shelters, govt assistance numbers, etc is also essential.

Simply the Best. Living in S Florida, it is a “must have” app. It’s extremely accurate and has helped in countless times predicting foul weather. I have family in LA & TX so it’s spot on to watch that part of the country as well. Lastly I use it in the Bahamas on our boat and it has helped tremendously.

Great app, used it every 10 minutes during Irma. I know the models don't update anywhere close to that frequency, but I couldn't help checking every 10 minutes. The app is simple and provides critical information in a straightforward fashion.

Great info all at your fingertips!. Love this app! Yeah it doesn't really give you any hurricane info that you couldn't go online and find yourself, but the convenience of having all the latest info and updates all in one place, is awesome! It puts everything you need to know, right at your fingertips! And it even notifies you of the latest advisory updates! Along with personal suggestions and information right from Max Mayfield, himself! And anyone who's been thru a south Florida hurricane knows exactly who Max Mayfield, ex-national hurricane center head honcho, IS!! Best Weather Tracker…hands down!. I moved to Miami over 40 years ago and have tracked Hurricanes ever since. This is the only one I go to and rely on, day in and day out. From live local radar to emergency weather alerts. My grown children have now all switched as well, and love it.

No longer works for blind people. This application used to work very well on my iPhone with my voiceover screen reader. However, I discovered when I needed it this week with hurricane Ian, it would crash every time I tried to use it with voiceover. I think there is not enough memory within the app to use the screen reader. It seems to work without it even though I cannot see what is on the screen. After you fix it, I will change my review. Thank you.

At your fingertips!!. Im old enough to remember the yellow pages…( let your fingers do the walking). And now we have everything at our fingertips.. this is a great and easy app and may i say, VERY IMPORTANT NOW to know ahead of time ..and have time to prepare..

Could Be Better. This app is moderately helpful but could be so much better. In contrast to other tracker maps, this app does not zoom in on the areas of the path of the storm. Therefor it gets difficult to locate the direct path, and the icons tend to look jumbled and cluttered after a while. It was helpful in the beginning stages of tracking Ian but became futile once things really became serious for FL. There’s no reason for me to be seeing Texas and Nebraska in the same screen image as Florida. Cut out unaffected surrounding areas and zoom in closer to areas of concern.

New changes/ format. Hate the new changes you made. Prior to them the app’s home was the radar page and I could see immediately what was going on in my location. Now it opens up to storm tracker and I have scroll down to find radar, click on that page which takes me to another page and then click again on the radar button. 2 step process- don’t like it, not convenient. Looking for another app.

Essential for FL weather. Any time there is a storm, I pull out the Max Tracker to get a better idea of the size, intensity, duration, and path of the cell. My only complaint is the new interface removed Max Mayfield’s picture. Part of the reason I use this app is because Max Mayfield is a legend, and I want him honored accordingly.

Helpful and easy to use. As we awaited hurricane Irma, this app gave the most accurate information with hourly updates on her status. The app was easy to use and I am thankful to have found it. Definitely a must for those who live in the tropics monitoring these storms!

You can rely. It’s been two years since I have been using this app. I have never been mislead or disappointed. When using the app last year I knew that danger was bearing down on me with my visit to Dominica. Everyone told me otherwise but the app said “danger is coming”. Good reporting , but focus too much on MIAMI though large audience in N. & W. BROWARD County!. Hurricane part of this App is GREAT! But Your Weather App Local 10 News Max Tracker does not give FUTURE radar forecast like other Weather Apps! You only show past hour weather radar! I have already seen this looking out the window. Also your Tv Weather station for south Florida rarely shows or gives us North BROWARD residents any weather forecast. We need to hear our weather report to. You focus mostly on MIAMI Dade area & South! Please help, BROWARD county has nothing for News Or weather Stations. Palm Beach county covers only Palm Beach County Not North Broward County! We need to watch for you weather to! Help!!

Great App Almost Perfect. Good tool…. Latest update changed from perfect…. When you look at overview map the named storms aren’t there… you'll see future potential, yet the ones formed are left off the map (not so with Nat Hurricane Center maps). Please correct this. The rest of the pages are very good! This app is easier to use than NOAA-NHC app.

Great team!. We love Channel 10. Channel 10 is the only news and weather channel we have watched in (We don’t know how many years) We love everyone in the news room as well as those in the field. Thanks for keeping us up to date on all the news as well as the storms.

Sue in Miami. It’s the best tracker out there! I try all the others to compare, and it’s no contest. I love being able to check radar several times a day to see what’s up near us, plus being able to check other areas fast and easy. Max Mayfield is first rate. 💕

Easy to Use Hurricane Information. This app is the easiest hurricane tracking map I have found. The updates are timely and easy to find. Max lists the important information clearly without any sensationalism. It is simple to see all the proposed tracks, current cone, wind speed, etc. I used this app through the 2020 hurricane season and it worked perfectly every time.

Disappointing. I find this app confusing and not giving the information I’m wanting. If you want weather, only weather., you have to listen to Volkswagen ads, or Sears Blue Crew tackling dust bunnies. When the ads are over, you get a message, “Live Feed! We’ll be right back”. The stories they post, three days now, same stories. A picture of Beryl going below Cuba. Betty Davis in the same red dress, three days?! Just give me a weather report. Current, detailed. Thank you

Max Tracker. I have followed this app for at least 10 years it’s accurate specific and gives you many paths of travel when there are severe storms I hope it never goes away thanks for asking

Max Tracker Weather Tool. I enjoy using it to track the storms in the Atlantic & Pacific oceans because is a quick way to picture the position, the path and magnitude of them. I also like the legend provided with each of the maps. It’s very accurate and Max Mayfield knows his job really good!

Best storm tracker app I’ve used so far!. Being a Floridian, hurricane season is a part of life and this app helps keep me up to date. The app sends notifications when a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico, then continues to update the severity, wind speed, temperatures, and presents a easy-to-use Doppler radar format which shows the trajectory of the storm in focus. Fantastic :)

Please show larger area where hurricane is going. Like this app but I get frustrated because it shows a map of a large area of the ocean and where the storm came from but not the area on land where the storm is heading in the US. We can’t even pinch to show the larger surrounding area. Please can you show a larger area where the hurricane is heading more clearly? Otherwise it’s a helpful app.

The Best!. This app has successfully gotten me through 2 FL hurricane seasons. I follow this app first; last year Max showed the worse of the hurricane was going to miss our area, & it did. This year it warned me we were in the outer bands of Irma, so I prepared accordingly, & again Max was right. I also check the ‘local radar’ daily to see how long the rain will last. I recommend this app to everyone who wants to be informed.

Thank you. I normally don’t write reviews, but I had to write for this one. Just want to say thank you I was looking for a free hurricane tracking app and I keen upon yours and it was free with no charge so thank you. Everyone else locks there a hurricane app app behind a pay wall which I think is unfair, because living on the East Coast we need to know when the hurricanes are coming. It’s a safety issue.

Needs lots of improvements. There are a lot of other apps for weather that do everything this app does but better. In tracking Ian in September 2022, you tapped the maps to zoom. The low resolution map goes to the center of the screen with many of the tags overlapping so you cannot read a lot of the information. A note at the bottom says “Rotate to view full screen”. Nothing happens when you rotate your screen. You tap the “close” the map rotates but returns immediately to the original view. Not worth loading onto your phone.

Max Tracker. A ton of value using this app during Hurricane Ian. A little under whelmed today when I realized that underneath the settings link, Max Tracker was displaying news… OLD news. The top listed story was titled "The tropics are heating up - at least two storms are expected to be named in the next week". I was floored, so I opened the story to discover that the date was August 25, 2021. ?? Really

Radar. Anytime there’s weather around it shuts down as usually when you want to look at it though so they can fix that it’s crap then used to be like that and used to be able to see the ocean now they blocked it I think they’re trying to get rid of customers

Doesn’t tell you the time of update. Great app, except for one glaring problem. It doesn’t tell you what time the update you are looking at is from. It should say for example, a dog 11AM , then show you all the info but when I look at it now I have no idea when the track info was from?? Please fix this in the next update, thank you.

Just the facts.. The Max tracker is the only hurricane tracker that you need. It's accurate, simple, layman terms and just the facts. Like it's namesake whenever I have to open it I feel the calm and assurance that only a "Live" Max Mayfield can deliver to me during a time of ambiguity.

You have ruined this app.. Was good now terrible. Why do we need to see weather and road construction all over the country? It clutters up everything and you cannot even see the weather map. Also please put it back to where it opens to the weather radar as before. Not many want to see hurricane weather first. This app was great but you have really fouled it up!

Fabulous. As a teacherI need to know what the weather is going to be like outside before I take my children out for PE or for dismissal. This has really been a godsend. I don’t have to rely on the office anymore.

Ads. Always liked this App and relied on it. This year🤷🏻‍♀️ not so much. Today when looking for more information on storm potential for a storm developing that could impact the FL Keys, I found the information covered by an ad that could not be moved out of the way. Totally frustrating. Wish you would go back to the previous iteration.

Love it, I so recommend to be ready for and informatted during storms. App Always ready and gives an accurate information , all you need when storms are initiating, approximating, are close or even when arrived.

Loyal Channel 10 News Watcher. Great, useful information; however, the app should be accessible without the use of wifi since we lost power early in the storm. It was alarming to be awakened with the tornado warnings and watches signal in the middle of the night.

Max Tracker was with us through Irma!. This app is awesome! Very reliable and accurate, we were able to check it throughout the whole time as we were slammed by Hurricane Irma!!! Until our phones ran out of batteries!

Most accurate. The forecasts are the most accurate and first thing we check upon rising each morning. While predicting is difficult with climate control..I know we can depend on the most accurate forecasting.

Great and Always Current. The app is great and data is updated frequently. You are able to see your specific location on the storm tracker so you can see exactly if you are in the cone or not. Also, great hurricane prep guide.

With me all the way. Max was my go to guy as Irma loomed over south Florida. The information that the app supplied provided current blow by blow information on the location and strength of Irma. It was indispensable in getting me and my loved ones through Irma. Thanks Mac😀

Hurricane season information. The info. And graphics are current, clear and pretty much all inclusive. My main source of info. when Hurricanes are traveling.

Most accurate info. If there’s a named storm, MaxTracker has all the info including satellite imagery, forecast cone, and model maps according to 9 different sources. Also has info on all watches & warnings, storm tracker, live updates, etc. It’s THE preferred app used by the insurance pros.

Best App!. Our family has always loved Max Mayfield! I watched this yrs hurricane prep show & decided to get local 10’s Max Tracker App. It’s amazing! So fast, so easy & very accurate! My husband was so impressed he downloaded it to! Thank you channel 10. We feel much safer now!!!

Great app. Very useful app though it would be better if notifications could be customized. Example: It would be useful to be able to say, don’t notify me unless the storm is at least a Tropical Storm or at least a hurricane.

Best presentation of storm coverage by far!. Easy to access the information you are looking for, especially, the hurricane and tropical storm part. It works for severe weather wherever you are.

Great app, new problem. Suddenly getting the same alert over and over again on all devices for last hour. Had to turn off notifications to make it stop

“ BEST COVERAGE “. I use to live in Miami and used Max Tracker all year long but now as I have moved to North Fla I use more than ever. We don’t get the weather coverage like in Miami and I’m use to watching a storms progression and with knowing I’m getting the “ BEST COVERAGE “ let’s my anxiety release with the knowledge I’m given.

Best one with exception notifications. Forget the “standard” hurricane apps. This one is the best that regularly gives notifications which are short and sweet re: the storm update. Love it. Would have paid $ for it but glad it’s free.

Great Tropics watch app. I was born and raised in Florida. So many dangerous storms in my 70+ years here. This particular app is quick to report changes in direction and intensity changes without a lot of hype. Direct helpful information to allow preparedness. Thanks

Orientation???. This app would get 5 stars if they would just do something about the way it locks orientation in portrait mode. I have an iPad with a keyboard and it’s so awkward when this app comes up sideways. Very annoying…..
