Great for son with autism. My 11 year old son, who has severe autism, is just starting to write. His ABA therapist found this app and started hand over hand tracing the letters with his finger. Then today my husband and I gave him a stylus and he did great and wrote several words on his own! I just added his name and a few more pictures and will start that tomorrow. I would change the lowercase q but other than that, this app is perfect for my son to learn to write. Thank you!

Lots of nice features. I like the simple clean graphics. Also like that it includes letters, numbers, words and shapes. Some of the letter and number formations are different that ones i typically use, especially the numeral 4. Another flaw of the app is that the lowercase letters don't sit correctly in the writing lines. Except for those few glitches, it's a really good app.

Fantastic!. My two-and-a-half year old son loves this app. It engages him and keeps him practicing his letters, numbers, shapes, and words every day. The ability to add my own words and pictures is a great feature. My son can practice writing the names of family members and then see their pictures. The only suggestion for improvement that I would make is to allow users to group the words they add into lists. For instance, the ability to make a list of animals we saw at the zoo and took pictures of... this way he can practice categories of words instead of just one massive list. This app truly sets a high standard for preschool learning apps. Thank you for making it free too.

Great app. I use this app for my 6 year old special needs little boy to trace his abc's and words love the fact I can customize the words for him I have begun to make him to use a stylus pen to trace the words and he is now starting to trace letters on paper which I have been trying to get him to do for months still a long way to go. it would be great if you added more numbers maybe up to 50.

Awesome app!!. This is a wonderful app and I am very grateful this app is free. I love the fact that the tracing forces the child to write the letter/number the correct way. Other apps just have arrows showing which way to write it but this doesn't allow them to do it wrong. It essentially corrects poor writing habits and encourages good ones. I also love that I can add my own words, picture and voice. I added my daughters full name and photo which she will have to know for kindergarten this fall. I also added her whole list of sight words among the other words pre-programmed in the app. I didn't include photos for all of them them, but I was able to record the word so my daughter could hear it after she wrote it. She is also in speech therapy and this allowed me to exaggerate the sounds in the word. This helps her tremendously. Thank you for this app!! We love it :) If I could change one thing, it would be the ability to add numbers and record my voice saying them. My daughter gets confused after 10. It would be nice to include, oh say, 15 and let her hear how it's said. That would be a fantastic update!!

Another great alligator app. Really like this one, have a few suggestions. Try brighter colors for the shapes, and after each one is drawn, slowly fill in the shape so the entire shape is visualized. You could also show the name of each shape in lower case, block style letters, like with the spelled words. Change the font on the letters to get away from that little upcurl on the end of so many. Use zaner bloser block style. Include more options for picking things up besides just the truck, pig eating apples, etc., with different backgrounds. Your apps are the best! With a little tweaking, they could be even better.

Best app EVER. I Love love love this app! I have 3 year old twins and it took them from barely being able to write an A freehand to easily writing A and other letters, in the app and freehand,on paper! It also advanced their letter recognition immensely thru repetition. Thank you a thousand times over for developing such a wonderful teaching tool!

Don't waste money on inferior handwriting apps!. This one is the best, and FREE!!! Fully customizable so that you can train your child to write his/her name and other unique important words, and the strokes that the app requires to complete each letter are cursive-friendly, so that transition will be an easy one when (if?) it comes.

Great for toddlers!!. I love this app! My son is 3-1/2 and working on letters and numbers. I love the tracing effect. It also allows you to add custom sounds and words! Ok, downside - the sound seems to be buggy and won't always work. And it doesn't appear to save the sounds you record, so once the app closes, they're gone. Does force close randomly. But the basics are great and it serves its intended purpose!! I will still be recommending to friends!

Great app. This is great. I think the objects in the letters are so clever. I know this app is for kids and I'm well passed the days of proper handwriting but I had to laugh that as a lefty, the direction you are asked to trace is the opposite of how I write. Makes me wonder how they teach lefty kids these days and how an app could be made to accommodate that potentially. In all tho my kids are enjoying it very much. Thanks!!

Finally an app that addresses per-writing!. Great ideas and concepts. I love that it can be customized and that finally an app addresses shapes. I do have a couple is suggestions for improvement. First of all the app uses three lines however the letters are not correctly placed within these lines, primarily the lower case letters that are supposed to sit between the center line and the bottom line. They are all too big, this is something that has to be directly taught to many kids and would be terribly confusing and enforcing of bad habits. Second I would love the option to choose specific items to work on. Great app!

great app, lefty adaptations?. this is a great app. my son has autism and he has a very difficult time imitating people writing or tracing letters, lines, or shapes. however he understood the concept of this app and follows the tracing very well. he gets a big smile on his face when he finishes a shape or word. he's proud of himself and i'm proud of him too :) only problem: my son is left handed and for the letter "o" he would like to make the stroke clockwise instead of counterclockwise, but the app marks that as "incorrect" and makes him restart tracing the letter. It'd be great if there can be a "left handed option" here but "o" is the only letter that my son consistently would get "wrong." the stroke also affects letters like b, d, p, g but i dont know if theres a preferred way leftys write those letters that might be different from rightys. (im a righty and my son is a very inexperienced lefty so i dont know much about leftys)

Must have for fine motor practice!. Excellent app! It's nice to have several tracing apps to keep my daughter's interest so she can choose which one she wants to work on. This is the one she has been choosing. The icons are cute without being baby-ish. And the letter outlines allow for some degree of imperfection in drawing lines so my child does not become frustrated. Like how the icons provide the visual clue on which lines to draw first, second, etc. You can even add your own words to trace--great for spelling tests and fine-motor skills. Highly recommend!

Awesome app for 16 months to Kindergarten. I downloaded this to teach my 17 month old toddler to get used to holding a pencil (or in this case stylus). I had been concerned that he wasn't even scribbling yet. I was amazed that with in one week with this app, he had learned how to hold a chunky pencil stylus. Before I knew it he was tracing with little help from me. He is now drawing on paper too!

Easy to use! Great customization ability.. We love that we can add our own words and pictures. It's engaging and exciting for my daughter. I do wish we could have the whole word on one screen at the same time in addition to the way it was with each letter, one at a time. Awesome app overall!

Great free writing app. I can totally customize the word list. I can use my photos, my words and my voice. It's fun for my children to write the names of things and people they are familiar with. There are many options. Not bad for FREE! In fact, it's very good for FREE! I totally recommend this app for a fun learning experience.

Super for my eager 4 year old. I have been trying to get my four year old kiddo to draw letters for months with a pencil and she had no interest. She found this app on my iPad and opened it and started "writing words" all by herself without any instruction from me. She has been glued to the app every chance I give her, squealing with delight and a sense of accomplishment! It's now one of her bedtime rewards for good behavior. We have fun practicing making straighter lines each time and practicing the sounds that the letters that she draws make. Haven't used this feature yet, but just noticed in Settings menu that user can add custom words and sounds! Squee! This promises to be our favorite tot app for a long time to come!

Good app. This app has helped my little one practice writing the alphabet. it is simple but she finds it fun. I would download it again.

Great app!!. I work with students on the autistic spectrum, and my students love this app. What sets it above all the other tracing apps is the ability to create our own words. Being able to write student names and words of objects students are interested in has made writing fun!

Best tracing app!. This app is fun, engaging, and just plain awesome! It is great how you can customize everything, from sounds, to new words, to the praise/reinforcement your child hears! I only wish it showed the final letter/shape/word that your child just traced rather than the model...this would allow the child to see exactly what THEY did. And if you could save their work so you see progress. But otherwise, it's a perfect, simple app!

good tracing app. I think this is a good tracing app. I like the sequence of letter formation and that the tracing prompts continue as you begin to trace. Some of the number formations are not the same as how they are taught in the classroom, however. It is a great feature to be able to add your own photos and customize words. It would be nice if there was a menu or choice option that allowed a user to pick a letter, number or word and do it multiple times for reinforcement.

Amaizing. I have this app for over 7 years and I can say this by far the best app for toddlers to help them with tracing numbers letter and more. My kids love it now I have a 3 year old learning to trace his name and it awesome to see how he has memorized all the letter and how to write on a sheet of paper with a pencil thanks to this app

Great app!. Congratulations, developers! This is a great app! We speak Portuguese, and thanks to the fact that you can records the names of the letters, the numbers and the words, we could change all of those to Portuguese. We are trying to use it with our 3-year old daughter with Down syndrome. My others kids are very enthusiastic about this new tool to help her out. Thanks!

Better than some. I think it's a pretty good learning app. My toddler is 3 and was able to trace well before I got this app, I just wanted her to have options other tracing apps didn't provide. The fact that the entire app is about tracing only is what sold me on it. Some other apps include silly additional games that I didn't see as necessary.

Absolutely love it!. I love this letter tracing app for my toddler! (As a former preschool teacher, I am hard to please in this area) It teaches the proper order to do the strokes for each letter, and it is more forgiving (and less frustrating) than some other tracing apps I have found. My son loves the tractor feature, and the icing on the cake is that all the letters are included in this free app. If I could rate 10 stars I would!

Little writer. My kids love it. My child's preschool teacher also really likes it. She encouraged me to help him trace letters to increase his fine motor skills. Not only does this do the trick, it forces him to form the letters correctly. I also have privacy concerns regarding children's apps. I feel very safe with this game. I emailed Alligator Apps for privacy info and heard back from them within gone hour! Great support! Thanks!

This is just what I was looking for in a writing intervention!. Great app that demonstrates how to write correctly. I had a different app I've been working with but the student would quickly lose focus because they could write all over the screen. This app gives immediate feedback when going out of the lines or when writing in the wrong direction. The lines are also wide enough that little hands and those with some visual motor difficulties should experience more success. Any chance cursive app is on its way?

The BEST!!!. This truly is the best writing game. The kids love to "eat" the pineapples and haystacks! I like that it makes them start over if they go outside the lines. I wish it had a way to record the progress from when they first start to when they become proficient, or either show exactly how they made the letter at the end. But it's still the best out there!

One downfall. This would be a 5 star app but for one thing: it doesn't save your customizations from one session to the next. I am using this with my autistic 6 year old for fine motor, letter and number writing, etc, and want to focus on a few at a time, but having to change the setting each time is horrible.

Bring back child's tracing. This app would have gotten a 5 star but they took away the feature where after your child completes the drawing of the shape, it shows the background of what the shape is and their drawing was. I liked my little's drawing being in the end result showing what the shape was

Nice app but..... This is a really nice app. I think it's great for children who are learning their letters, numbers, and objects. I love how you can add your own voice to the game. My 3 year old knows hers already so this app is boring for her. I wish it was a little more exciting then it could still be used by her. It is still a great app and it doesn't crash.

Wonderful!. I absolutely love this app for therapy. It is a great app to use on my kindergarten students in between their speech turns.

Poor little lefties.. I read the previous review as I was entering the section to compose this one. My left-handed daughter makes many of the strokes from right to left; the middle of the letter A, for example. I have tried several apps and none of them have a lefty setting. It would be beneficial to quite a few of us.

Some letters formed improperly. This app is ALMOST what I was looking for to teach my 4 year old how to write letters. However, as an elementary teacher, I am very choosy about correct letter formation. I am very disappointed that this app, like many others, shows incorrect formations when teaching the child to write letters. Some letters are not formed all the way to the top line, such as b and k. Other letters, such as y, are simply formed incorrectly. I was also surprised to find that the 9 was formed like a typed 9, as opposed to a circle with a straight line down. I would highly recommend that the developer of this app research the most commonly used handwriting programs in elementary schools and modify this app to be based on those letter formations. I am sure that there are many teachers/parents who would be happy to pay for an app that teaches children how to write letters correctly.

Best App for Letter Practice!. I am both a mom and SPED teacher and I love this app (so does my son!) because it is first and foremost FUN for kids. Also, unlike other letter tracing apps, it shows kids the proper formation of letters (where to start, when to lift, direction to trace in), which is a major factor in handwriting readability as kids get older. Just wish there was a simple way to go back to previous letters within spelling a word if the child needs to practice the letter again (rather than starting the whole word again). Otherwise, Fantastic and highly motivating to kids!!!

Buggy and overly sensitive. Perhaps I should have paid more attention to the 4+ age suggestion, because for my 2 1/2 year old this app is completely worthless. She tries her best to follow the paths but even the slightest deviations are rejected. Even with my adult hand it often rejects my movements which is ridiculous. Beyond that, when you exit one letter set and enter into another, the path for whatever you were last doing will reappear, muddying up the character you're currently working on. Maybe the app just needs an update to correct these bugs that once worked properly. Deleting this POS as soon as this review is finished.

Just what I wanted!. My 3 year old enjoys using this app. He loves the farm graphics and is getting better and better at writing his letters! As a mom certified in elementary education, I appreciate the app's simplicity, appeal to young learners, and the accuracy in teaching proper strokes for letter formation. Being able to customize by adding my son's name and record the pronunciation is a great feature! Thanks and keep up the good work!

Love that you can customize!. My 3 year old daughter (and I) love this app! It's easy for her to use and we just found in the settings you can customize by adding your own words, where not only do you add the word but you can add a photo from your library and then record someone saying the word. My daughter gets so excreted when she completes her name and her own voice says her name and her pic shows up. I highly recommend this app!!

Esediagnostician. Amazing learning tool! The kids LOVE this app, the sounds, and are motivated by the picture at the end to reward their efforts. the shapes are developmentally sequenced and require very little pressure for the children with poor grading/hand control. Beautifully designed! Parents, Preschool/kindergarten teachers, and occupational therapists encouraged to download and use!

Fabulous, using it with child with special needs. We got this for our son with cerebral palsy. He has others that he liked but this has become the preferred program. The game is flexible enough to allow him to make a mistake, in which case it doesn't allow the mistake but it does save the progress he had made on a letter so far. He made much faster progress with this than other letter tracing apps and with the use of a stylus we hope to be able to eventually progress to pen and paper. For our son, writing with pen and paper will never be practical for a whole document but we do want him to be able to sign his name and write the alphabet (for now). This app is fabulous for learning.

This app is a disaster. I bought this app for my 4 year old. I can not even open the app. Every time I tap on it, the screen goes black!!!

high interest. This app is great. My son, who has Down syndrome loves using this app and it holds his attention. The only thing I would change is how they make the letter "y". You should start at the top on both side not at the middle on the right line. Would love to see this one change soon but other than that very small detail, I would recomend this to anyone :)

Most fun tracing game. Great motivating tracing activity for my students with fine motor challenges. It would be better if the letter sound was also given after the student traces the letter. better if the letters were different each time with varying colors and pictures of objects that begin with that letter that are clickable and when touched the object was Labelled.

Great App. My three year son loves this app and I am really impressed with fine motor skill development and control this app offers. The fact that if the first time my son loses the "crab" he has to go back and start again promotes him not lifting his finger, just like you would encourage with a pencil, and helps him understand determination to complete a task. Really great product!

Perfect!. I love this app for my preschooler. Nothing too overstimulating, just clean and simple, yet cute and fun enough to keep her hooked. I feel good about letting her have "screen time" because she is practicing her letters and fine motor skills!

Great app for kdg. This app is excellent for kdg children. Not only can they practice writing the letter, number or shape, but I love going into the setting and being able to take picture of all my kids and then they could spell their friends name and see a picture of them when they finished. My kdg. Kids loved this app and so did I. I would recommend this to anyone!

Wow! and it's free!. This app is wonderful for helping little ones learn to write. Children love to write their names and names of friends and family members, so it is automatically reinforcing, encouraging them to write more. It did take me a while to figure out to press the plus sign to add pics, so this could be more clearly labeled. But, overall, this app is AWESOME!!!!!

Very good. We have a 4 year old who is in a school that really stresses early writing. While she's ahead in many areas, she struggles with her writing and pencil grip. Developmentally, she's fine, but as one of the youngest kids in her class, she's a little behind her class peers in this skill. We have been working with her, but she would be frustrated by our constant little corrections like "the A needs a diagonal, not a straight line". But this app is great because it does those little corrections automatically. And we gave her a stylus to use, so she's figuring out a proper grip gives her better control. All in all, we are very happy. Our daughter loves it, as do we. We are going to start letting her 2 year old brother use it on the iPad so the letters are very large while our daughter uses it on the iPhone so the letters are smaller and require better control.

What an incredible app!. This is just what my kiddos needed! I can't wait tell everyone I know about it. Update- there are several tracing apps available, but this is really fantastic. I like the way it shows how to trace the letters and doesn't just have tracing dots This app shows where to begin, where to go next and how the letter ends.

Grate App for early handwriting practice. We love this app. It makes handwriting interesting for little kids. Teach your kids how to draw the letters the right way, you can even start before they can hold a pencil correctly! They draw with their finger, increasing hand eye coordination as they practice. It's a hit at our place. Great for correcting bad habits or teaching new skills.

My new favourite preschool app. Customise words to fix pronunciation and help teach children to spell their own names. Also good to create spelling lists and emphasises direction of writing each letter. To improve, this app should name each word before child writes it, as well as after.

Great. Great tool to started to learn to write. But after a while my son got a little bit bored, but in general it is a good way to teach him alphabet n numbers.

Love it. 5 year old and 3 year old love it.

This app is great, but caveat. This app is exactly what I was looking for to encourage my daughter to trace and learn to print. And it's great. But it's not designed to accommodate lefties. The only "correct" direction in the app for circular letters is counter-clockwise, which is not the way most lefties (and some righties) write them. Please consider allowing both directions for anything with a circle, or add a lefty option in settings.

Love this app. I just downloaded this app and started to play it myself. I am a grandma of 5 grandsons who all love trucks and animals...so when I saw the trucks and animals being used to help guide their little fingers to draw the letters and shapes and numbers, I thought, oh my, are we going to have fun! I so wish tools like this was available for my kids when they were growing up. I home schooled all my kids and spent many years in third world...and spent many hours either hunting for school material or creating by hand. What lovely, and inventive tools these alligator apps offer! Wish I could time travel back and have them for my kids. We'd have a ball! Thanks for all the time you spent putting these great wholesome tools together! You are making me a happy nana, every time I get another one of your apps!

Great Learning Tool. I absolutely love this for my daughter and more importantly she does too! You can customize words to suit the level your child is at. I would recommend this program to any parent or teacher!

Great app for little learners. My almost 3 year-old son likes this activity very much. He could spend a long time practicing the shapes, letters and numbers. As his mom, I really like the way this app reinforces the formation of the letters, as the way they learn it at school.

Helpful app. My 4 year old likes this app so far! Love the positive comments after the child prints a letter. For future updates, It would be great to prompt the child to try to print the letter by him/herself just after trying it with the help of the symbols. It would also be great to have rewards or stars or stickers when the child completes all of the category. In the word section, it would be helpful to see the whole word.

Great app!. I see a lot of potential use for this app.

A few suggestions. Great app for toddlers but I've a few suggestions 1) add a sensitivity which allows you to come off the line somewhat. Sensitivity can be increased as child improves. 2) For an app which relies on finger swiping, using finger swiping to go to the next image page gets triggered more than it should.

Excellent little writer. Keeps my kids focused on the proper way to write. They can't just scribble like some of the other apps. Also corrects them as the write and gives them confirmation after completion. Use it with my 5 and 3 year old, and they choose to play it on their own

Fantastic app. This app is really wonderful for a free app. Thank you. The only possible addition I can think of is to add some visual reinforcement in addition to the audio. Possibly stickers or something? Otherwise it really is perfect!

Great app!. Great app, easy for kids to use, gentle music and sounds. I really like the simple redirection/correction if letters are not formed properly. I wish there was an option to change the language of the speaker/reader to French.

IBIMom. Thanks for this great App. It is great for learning letters, numbers and shapes. The only thing missing is a way for the children to progress with independent printing by having less prompts. The App doesn't support orientation. We do prefer to turn our IPAD around. Overall, we do believe it to be a great App.

Love it!. One is never too old to enjoy the applications they did not have in their youth. I am fourteen, and I stumbled upon this when looking for applications for my mother's kindergarten class, and while testing it, I found myself to be feather enjoying it. And I also found out that half of my letters are incorrectly formed. (My Fs, Ss and Ls are all formed similarly. Apparently they are supposed to be completely different. But my oddness is causing this review to stray off topic.) Overall, I find it to be a functional application that fulfils it's purpose superbly.

Awesome app for little kids. My daughter is going to be 5 in a few weeks and she just loves this app. With the animals etc that eat the apples or whatever the image is makes it fun for kids which is great. Would love to see more words and be able to see the full word or something to help them grasp how to spell and even read the words? Or even have it able to pick grade levels to help kids advance also would be super cool. But still awesome app

Little Writer. Good App for coordination. Unfortunately some of the letters stick together and it is hard for my 5 yr old to read. She does enjoy it and it definitely keeps her learning. I would have liked to see the letters and numbers appear in the most basic font. For example the number 1 and the lowercase l confuses her. Overall it is fun and keeps her thinking!

Taking time from the dry erase board. A lot of my students have Autism and have trouble learning to write their names, phone numbers, and addresses. This app takes the place of always using a dry erase board and marker. Thanks!

Wow! Customizable!. So I was letting my 4yo son practice letters and said to myself, "I wish they had an option where I could have him practice the letters of his name..." And then I looked in settings and found that I could do just that!! Really awesome.

Needs an update. Love this app, but I've noticed it has been years since it's been updated. So now there are issues, especially since the last iPad update. It crashes on me all the time now, some of the things that I've turned off are actually on. I use this in class all the time to help my students how to write letters. Please update soon.

Priceless. This application has helped our daughter excel to a new level in one month. Our daughter has very low vision and she loves this application. She is able to identity letters, shapes and more. Highly highly recommend for low vision and normal sighted children!

Great intro to writing. My 4 yr old has been stubborn with the writing & this has done the trick! We are using a stylus & have added lots of family & toys to the word database to keep her interest. She loves seeing the pix at the end & hearing her voice say the words. This has been great for practicing. Great app, good job!!

Brilliant!. Adding customized words, pictures, and sounds makes this game a lot of fun. By frequently updating the items, it keeps things fresh and interesting for little ones.

Superbly done!. Stroking guide animation is well done. Shows direction of stroke including connecting strokes. Easy for tots to follow. Love that it also has a mode that shows your tots actual strokes! Excellent feedback for tots to see how good their letters turned out. Thanks for this app!

Great tool. My son has Down Syndrome and a strong aversion to writing, coloring, or doing work on paper. Since we found this game, he will open it up by himself and play for a long time. He even seems to be willing to use pens and crayons. Thanks for a great learning tool!

Change the sounds. I love that I can change the sound for the letters. Now my daughter is learning the letter and the sound it makes.

Got my 4 yo interested in writing!. Over all I think this is a great app. I've been having issues with it crashing when using, which frustrates my son, hopefully this is just bug. My son's preschool teacher thought it was pretty nice learning tool.

Cute, but could have more. The app is cute and has lots of possibilities. I like that you can add your own words and remove words as well, and record your voice for the newly added words, but I do agree with others that you should be able to see that entire word, and not just one letter at a time.

Teacher. What a great app for my 4k students. I edited the word section by adding each of their names and picture. When I want them to practice writing their name I only turn theirs on and they can practice over and over.

Excellent. This is the only app that I have ever felt compelled to review. Very nicely done! I really appreciate the customization options! The recording feature is brilliant. I can now teach my kids the phonetically appropriate way to say the letter sounds the way I want to. GREAT WORK!

Works great. I have a 4 1/2 yr old mild to moderately impaired autistic son who can communicate pretty well with the computer. This is really helping him carefully form his letters. He likes it a lot and I haven't noticed any problems yet. Another great app, thanks!!!!

Could be better. This app is better than most in that you can add your own words. I am a bit irritated by the pineapple icons that appear outside the letters on some items. Some children could be confused by them. The makers need to correct this flaw. All in all, a pretty good for a free app.

Good tracing app. This app was helpful for my daughter with learning both upper and lower case letters. The one improvement that I would recommend is that it's super sensitive, so she would trace the Letter, but if she went to fast or not as neat, it would have her do it over. It even asked me to do over and I'm an adult! But overall a good app and helps with motor skills

Basic but good. For my classroom I wanted something that focused on the correct way to form letters without a lot of other stuff to distract a young mind. This app delivers. It causes a student to slow down and think about where their finger needs to go to create that letter. I'm happy.

Great app. Great app, only problem is the app is geared towards kids that are right handed. I am the mother of a left handed 3yr old. Even with using the app myself (lefty),I found in tracing some of the letters that it didn't allow you to go a different direction even with the letter "O"! May want to include left/right handed in your settings.

Good but needs choice of levels. It's is a really nice app however, any degree of inaccuracy leads to the exercise resetting. Other apps for kids offer degrees of accuracy in their settings... Typically 2-4 from beginner to advanced. This is frustrating for my toddlers who are just learning to trace.

Love this app. I just downloaded this app, because my cousin told me great things about it! So I decided to test it out first! And I believe it is a very educational app if you don't have it you should get it! My daughter loves it, and I'm sure your child would too!

Amazing!. My baby brother loves this app and plays with it all the time! He loves the sounds, but does get frustrated when he can't do a cloud or circle. It's mostly easy for him. He calms down when he plays with it too. This app could use some better formations, though.

Good app but buggy. Fish appear randomly on the screen when they shouldn't, and the music/sound settings don't stick - an issue especially when you record custom sounds. I'd pay a few dollars if they'd fix the bugs and add more custom settings (such as disabling the Home screen music, or using music as a reward after a letter).

Love the customization feature. Such a great feature to be able to add names and pictures. Also love that you have included number formation as well. Thank you for such a useful app!

Excellent. This app definitely has helped my four year old with tracing..before using this app he was all over the place and did not quite grasp the concept of tracing

Great little App!. I work with students with autism and even though they are visual learners, too much visual can be a bad thing. Little Writer offers the perfect amount of clean attractive visual information that supports their learning style without needless clutter. Great Little App!

Awesome game. Played lots of other games and this is by far the best! No stupid ads for little kids to click on and go away from playing the game. Also the voice isn't annoying like on other games.

3 year old friendly. Awesome!. My son is 3 years old and has difficulty imitating what I try to show him when using simple pen and paper. He can not only do this better, but it's fun and captures his attention. Amazing app. Couldn't be better! Love it! Good job!

Love it. I love this app and so does my 3 year old who has been playing since he was 2 years old he like playing and gets so happy when he traces the letters and that makes me happy and it's FREE!!!

So much fun. My newly turned 5yo daughter LOVES this app! I added her name, as well as the names of a couple of her siblings and our cat, just to see how the customization worked. She is THRILLED when she can spell the name of something familiar. :) Thanks for another great kids app!

Wow! Infinitely awesome literacy tool!. This app allows you to add photos and words for the child to spell by tracing each letter individually and then showing the pic and word. Without that feature, the app is wonderful. With it, I know my children will be reading words much, much sooner! Thank you!

Fun!!!. My daughter was having trouble writing and now has less trouble thanks to this app! She enjoys spelling her own name and seeing her picture in the screen. She also asked that I added the rest of the family members on her list. Thank you for such a fun app!

Yay!. This app is just what I was looking for to help my soon to be kindergartener with writing. She is having trouble making her pencil writing legible but being able to do it with her finger and see her progress is going to give her the confidence she needs.

Kids love it. My four kids, ages 5,6,7,7 all really enjoy this app and ask to play it over other non educational games. It's also got my 5 year old excited about her letters again.

Great app for education. As a preschool teacher I use this app to teach fine motor control and beginning pencil skills (using a stylus). The kids never seem to get bored of tracing the items and they love the random animal/machine items that are used for each letter and shape.

Good tracing app. This app helps kids really see where to trace next. The only part I would change is in the word category. It would be better if the whole word was on the screen so the child can see what they are spelling.

BrklynSLP. I like this app and plan to use it with my young sons and my Cpse children. The illustrations are cute and breaking the number/letter into small steps is nice. I would agree with a previous review that seeing the picture of the word that is being written would be a plus.

Great for fine motor skills. I always have a hard time getting my 3 1/2 year old to sit down to make shapes or letters, but she loved tracing the letters in this app. She would get a big, proud grin on her face and give me the thumbs up!

Must have. If you believe school first starts at home and you love learning new things with your children then I encourage you to try this free app. I love it my daughter loves it and it's a great tool for any child to have.

My 3 year old loves it!. My 3.5 year old has expressed an interest in learning to write letters, but gets frustrated with pen and paper. This was the perfect tool. After writing in this app, he is more confident and tackles paper and pen now. It's a fun game (the animals munching food) and easy to use.

T. This is a great app. Easy for kids to use...very responsive to touch. My only suggestion would be to make the letters and numbers more generic looking...no extra bumps or tails....and would prefer the number four to look like the standard four that doesn't have a Diagonal line. Nice, none distracting, colorful graphics!

Great app - could use pauses. This app is great for my four year old little sister, however it could use with a pause after she completes the words so that we can go over it and make sure she understands what she's just written! Other than that great! Loooove that you can customize it!

Best app ever!. I saw this on Pinterest and I'm so glad I got it! My 3 yr old son LOVES THIS!!! He just laughs and laughs while he plays it. I think it's brilliant that the tractor has to pick up the hay, etc. it's so entertaining for my little boy. He has the Sesame Street app where you trace the letters but this one is fun more fun and effective.

Does the job. I'm actually using this for an elderly student who never learned to read. The automated reinforcement is great for his aging memory and he loves using the iPad. I'll continue using this app for that pushes until I find one geared towards adults. thanks!

Fun learning experience. My 3 and half year old would never want to learn to write letters. It was difficult to get him to sit to do a worksheet. With this app he simply kept on tracing letters for 30 mins straight and enjoyed it quite a bit . Absolutely love the app

One wish, then it will be perfect. Please let us add the option of a phone number the custom words section! Right now it only lets us type in letters, but I would love to have my kids practice their phone number.

Great for basic formations. Great way for beginners to learn basic letter and number formation. One suggestion-- for WORD tracing, it would be helpful if the word (not just the letter) is stated BEFORE tracing the word instead of just after. Hearing the word before AND after would help reinforce learning. The child will know what he / she is tracing before starting. Thanks!

Perfect. This is exactly what we've been looking for. This makes home schooling much easier for me and fun for the kids too. I love that it shows the child the correct direction to follow.

Best Free App. This is one of the best free apps for young children. I use it frequently with my kindergarten students. The best part is that it is completely customizable to fit the letters or numbers we are working on in class. I recommend this app for all kindergarten teachers.
