Can't select no response after selecting can't go. The app is very useful but... When selecting whether or not your child will be attending an event you can not revert back to no response. The event attendance is initially set to "no response" with the options of yes, no, or maybe. When navigating the app sometimes i have accidentally selected no to the event attendance. i want to unselect my response but i can't. Once an initial selection is made i can only change my response. i can not revert back to "no response". This is very frustrating. This has happened multiple times too both me and my wife. This NEEDS to be fixed. This is not a big it is designed into the app. I am not sure why.

Awful. I’ve used the sports engine app for my son’s tackle football teams in the past. He’s now currently signed up for flag football and the team is not on the homepage of the app. I tried everything to get it to show up. The league said everything was good on their end. I signed out and back in the app, I deleted the app and redownloaded it. I updated it twice. I contacted support and they basically sent me an automated message with things that have already been done. I got some messages when you log on to the website via the browser but I cannot see anything about the roster or schedule. This is very frustrating. I can’t even contact the coach for help because it’s all through this app.

Fantastic easy to use app!. One of the best features is RSVP. Once you get all parents on board, it makes preparing practice plans tons easier when you know how many athletes you’ll have in practice. One suggestion I’d have is to add a “down” or “next” arrow to the RSVP screen, so I can easily and with one click move from one RSVP screen to the next rather than having to go back, then go to next practice and then click on RSVP (so one click rather than current three clicks). That would make browsing thru RSVP’s for the entire week much quicker and easier. Thanks for your consideration.

What happened??. I’m disappointed. This app used to be better. I know improvements have been made which some of them have been great but whatever you guys did between March and now has made the app soooooo slow and it often crashes. There should also be a way for the players especially if they are teens to be able to participate in a monitored chat feature or maybe be able to participate in chat period instead of the parent letting them use their phones or logging in as their parent. I mean it is their team after all, they shouldn’t be considered “fans” of the team. Notifications don’t exist, I have them all turned on but unless I am constantly opening the app and looking I miss things. And only time something shows on screen is when my phone is locked, no sound, no vibration, nothing.

App Has Been Great Until Now. I’ve used this app now for 3 years and have had no issues with it opening or crashing until the past 1.5 months. It’s a great resource to stay in the know with the sports teams in which my kids are involved, but this disruption the second time around is annoying! And I’m now bugging (no pun intended) other parents for info that I expect to see when I open the app. I did have help from a nice tech support member and they helped me work things out, but it seems that with each “bug fix” or “update” that comes out for the app, I’m getting a not-too-friendly interruption as opposed to a fix. Can someone help me out?

Last Update killed App. This app works great to organize teams for our 4 active boys. We’ve had 14 active teams at the same time. The last update ruined the app though. Now it takes literally five minutes to open and switch to the schedule. With our hectic nights, the schedule is the most important, we’re double checking times and locations every few hours. And the Feed seems to be causing major lag. The app opens and then sits there doing nothing and then flashes and adds the feed icon. Then we can see we have unread chat, click on it, and wait for it to load. Then wait longer and never get the channel to open with the actual chat. The only way we’re seeing chats is in the banner on my phone. Please fix this!

So Convenient!. As a coach this app makes my life crazy easy. Players can RSVP to each game and practice so that I can plan drills and lines, and I can input the address for each event so that parents can just click on the link and be taken directly to the field - no more panic emails when the field location changes because I can just change it and everyone knows. The in-app calendar also syncs directly to my and each parent’s google calendar so if practice time changes or a game gets moved back it all communicates real time! Truly organizationally simple and easy to use. My favorite feature is the team chat. Communicating and organizing through long email chains is so difficult but the chat let’s parents contribute, joke around, and organize rides to get their kids to and from practice. Overall this app lets me focus on the coaching side which is really all I’m here to do, thanks for great development Sports Engine!

Poorly Designed. I want to like this app but I can’t because of all the bugs. My phone recently updated to the new version and now it has gone from bad to worse. Their is always a number of notifications shown no matter if you read all the chats. I love how it says 153 unread messages for one chat. The new calendar is horrible when you have multiple teams. Now I have to change it to the list every time and instead of showing the teams logos it is now initials. My wife has the same phone and it is completely updated but she can not use chat because it scrolls all over the place. I am guessing they use the lowest bidder high school coding club to write this program. Unfortunately we are stuck with it because of organizations. Just be ready to be frustrated with this app.

How are these glitches still a thing?! 🤬🤯. Our team uses the app. I’ve had experience with Heji and PlayMetrics. I can unequivocally say, this is the worst of them and I will Be recommending we find a new app for the new season. Schedule updates: the team management will put a schedule update in the system yet it won’t show up in the app for everyone. Often it won’t show up. We’ve taken to taking screenshots to show management we aren’t ignoring them we aren’t getting the schedule changes. Thus now we have several other ways we are communicating incase this app glitches. Photos: the glitches in image uploads in the chat is mindblowing. Images come up all orange or red. It’s the quickest way to share everything with everyone and yet again we find ourselves having to use links or text to send. What’s the point of this app. Message: there is no way to form small groups within the messaging or directly message the coach. This means lots of, what should be private questions, being asked in the public forum. Hyperlinks: any links you put in the chat often don’t hyperlink. Only part will. This you have to copy and open outside of the app instead of the app actually doing what it should and making the link live. Overall, this has been the worst sports management app we have experienced as consumers. Personally doing the research for management so we don’t have to be this frustrated next year.

Version 7.0.14 is the Worst!. SportsEngine needs to come up with a fix for all of the bugs in the most recent version. It’s horrendous! The notifications for the chats stays on for days even though there aren’t new chat messages. The chat screen flashing is the worst! Any type of scrolling makes the screen flash and it won’t even scroll up so you can’t read all of the messages in the chat. This makes it extremely difficult to communicate with team members. The address field comes through with all kinds of characters and symbols in it so you can’t get the address of the venue from the app. You need to hire a Quality Assurance tester before you release crap like this. And you should have a back out procedure so if you do end up releasing this many bugs you can back it out and revert back to the previous version. There’s no reason why you should have allowed this version to stay out there this long. Very poor quality!

Clunky Design, Schedule Glitches. I held onto the old version as long as I could but unfortunately one day I opened my phone to find the new. The new format is clunky as far as design goes and makes it less streamlined to navigate. I use the app for my 3 children who are on different teams, so I always refer to the daily master schedule when planning out our day. Recently I missed one of my son’s practices because it didn’t show up on the daily schedule. When I realized I missed it I looked at his specific team schedule and it was there but not on the daily schedule for “my teams.” I would consider this a major glitch in the app. Annoying glitches are the notifications. They’re never accurate and do not clear after messages in the chat have been “read” It’d also be nice if we could “favorite” a team without it showing up on our schedule. I’d like to favorite my nieces and nephews teams for easy reference about games but don’t need their daily practices showing up on my calendar.

Update ruined it. Sports Engine used to be great with only a few bugs, now after the update the whole thing is horrible. I deleted the app and reinstalled the app, and immediately realized the new update was put on the app. It’s okay at the start but once you go into the chat it’s crazy. I went in to see something the team had said and when I scrolled up it would glitch and go crazy. And when you go to the schedule it only shows you what you have today. You have to click on the day you want to see it, unlike before the update when you could just look at you whole schedule by scrolling down. I am looking if there is a way to take off this horrible update. Before the update it was great, now it is exactly the opposite.

New schedule/calendar is the worst - UPDATED. UPDATE: A recent update reintroduced a list of upcoming events, which can be selected instead of the prior calendar-only view. This solves the issue I had before, so I’ve updated my review to 4 stars because the app is otherwise very handy. Original review below. The recent redesign is fine except the schedule is HORRIBLE. There’s no way to see a list of scheduled events. The only way to see scheduled events is to select a day on the calendar. This is so inconvenient because you can only ever see one day’s worth of events at one time. There should be a list that shows all scheduled events that can be scrolled through. Right now, if I don’t know the date of a scheduled event, I literally can’t see it because I have to first pick the date in the calendar. Really dumb.

Gone downhill. When I started using the App years ago it was good but now seems to have problems that are not being fixed. Main problem is the notifications do not work anymore. We are not getting notified that messages have been posted in the chat and my child has missed some very important information which in turn has cause the coach to bench him. I have talked to the support team several times and have received no help at all. All they keep telling me is turn my notifications on, which they are, and offer me no help other than that. Looking at the recent reviews it seems to be a common problem with no solution.

Worst, buggiest app I’ve ever used. I work in app development so this may be a little biased but I’ve used TeamSnap until a year ago and it is hands down 1 million times better. I have written into sports engine’s support team more times that I can count. The only thing they tell me is that I should restart the app and sign in and back out. It’s horrible. And it happens to my entire team so you can’t use that excuse here. Nothing updates when it should, the fact that you can’t bulk upload photos is absolutely absurd. What century do we live in? And the fact that you have to toggle in and out of event rsvp’s 19 times before you can finally get a list that doesn’t say “zero” is beyond my comprehension. How are so many people finding this helpful? It has completely screwed up several of our games because of updates being delayed. I’m done sending my detailed responses with helpful screenshots because it gets me nowhere. Not to mention it’s incredibly slow and I have to force it closed at least 10 times a day.

Could use some updates. My daughters team recently switched from Teamsnap to SportsEngine and I am already understanding what sports engine is missing. It would be great if they could work on a few things. 1. Color-code events. It would nice to have the option to make practices and games and events different colors. 2. The ability to add attachments like field maps to an event would also be helpful. We need to send them through the chat instead of having it already linked. 3. The all white color is blinding. Jazz it up a bit. Throw in some grey 😉 While I am still cursing having to change from a system I knew and loved I am sure with a few updates they can be up to speed with their competitors.

Not my favorite. The idea behind what the app does is great. However there app itself isn’t great. I am a board member for our soccer club we have over 500 kids that we use this program for. So I am very involved in the whole process behind the scenes but also as parent too. Creating a registration, placing kids on teams, scheduling and communicating. Some of our other teams in town use other apps that are much better and would recommend vs this one. I’m not the nitpicking person however this app has so many issues I just can’t stand it anymore. The amount of times last season it was unusable was disappointing. The app would freeze or crash. You can’t communicate in the app one on one with families only as a group. So some of my coaches are actually outsourcing for other apps for communication.

Add Option to Flag Teams, Please :). The app is overall user friendly. I do have one suggestion for an update: I would LOVE the option of being able to flag current teams to the top of the Home Screen. I don’t want to remove/delete previous teams because I like being able to look back at rosters if I forget a name or need quick access to parent info. However, it’s frustrating having to scroll through 4 kids worth of previous teams (some with very similar names) to find our current/active teams. Just a recommendation! Otherwise no complaints here and works well for our needs!

App will no longer load on my phone. Hi! The app was working just fine on my phone for a few seasons, then randomly one day the app just would complete loading on my phone when I went to open it. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it several times, restarted my phone, checked for updates for the app and for my phone and both are up to date. Not sure what the problem is, and I can’t find information on the support page that addresses this problem. Can someone please reach out to me to help? We’re in the middle of our season for two different teams and I’m missing vital weekly updates. TIA!

You should download Team Snap it’s better. I’m only using this app because our soccer club bought it for the entire club this year. It’s aweful after using team snap who has this dialed in - it’s like going back to the Stone Age. So basic it’s doesn’t have any attention to detail. For instance if I list arrive time an hour earlier it doesn’t show that anywhere on your linked calendar or in the app unless you drill down into the notes. The game scoring is awful- that’s all you can do is keep basic score. You can’t keep time, you can’t put which half it is or half time. You can’t say who scored each goal or chat to try and describe the goal - nothing just game in progress. As a mom of three kids who play sports, these live game updates are valuable to me when I can’t be in three places at once. Team snap did all of that and now that I’m stuck with this app I’m missing out. Hey developers why don’t you download team snap and see ALL the things you need to do to try and catch up to a great sports app that keeps parents connected to our kids games. Team snap even let’s you take pics and live video to share during the game as it’s played. You can do better. Thanks

Good to a point… Latest update frustrating. Love that I can keep up with my kid’s team schedule and even connect it to our family calendar app. However, since the last update- it’s incredibly frustrating to go to the schedule page in the app to look at what’s coming up and RSVP ahead of time (our coach uses this to see who’s going to be at practices and games) have to go through a lot of different things to even get to two or three weeks from now! Before I could see a list of things and RSVP there. Maybe you could just give users some options for how they want to display their schedules in the settings? I looked for that and there aren’t any options for it. Very irritating. Thank you for considering adding this option- it would be way more helpful and would make using SportsEngine easier again!

Not impressed. Very frustrating.. Me and my sons father have, for four months, been trying to both be able to have this app in its fully functional form. After I set it up he could not connect his email. Once his email was connected I stoped receiving emails and notifications and my app showed nothing but the schedule of games. I did not have messaging capability, a roster or the ability to rsvp for games. Now, after a coach had to talk with someone from sports engine, I have a filling functioning ap and my sons father has lost all function on his. He now has only a schedule he can’t even rsvp on and no longer gets messages or emails. My son can’t be the only child with two parents who use this ap that it’s this difficult for four people to try to get it set up correctly for both of us. I prefer what we used last year. I only give it two stars bc for the hour I have had a full ap it seems quite useful. Once my sons father is added back though who knows what I will have.

Uniform information disappeared with latest update. This app is so useful in so many ways, but lately I’ve encountered some big problems: First, the app just wouldn’t open. I’d tap on it & you could see it start to open then it would suddenly kick you out. This went on for over a month. Then last Sunday the view on the mobile app under schedules changed. When you tap on a game to see the details, you can no longer see the uniform field? I’m the manager, so I can see that the uniform color has been entered by looking at the editing page, but it’s not showing up at all when you get out of editing mode. Pls fix this!

Glitchy. This app is so glitchy - it will just randomly kick me out, currently as of right now, I can’t even get on the app at all. When I try to open it, it closes right out completely. We are currently waiting for my sons flag football team info and I am super concerned that I won’t even be able to get any info at all. My daughter played lacrosse and our team’s coach was trying to upload photos taken and they never showed up, only 4 out of like 60 pictures were there and they were all warped and messed up. This app is great in theory and concept but the execution, reliability and functionality are just not great. I just wish after 3 years it would have improved but it’s only gotten worse.

Latest update is 1 star. I’ve used this app for several years and always loved the format. It was great when multiple kids and teams in our household used it for scheduling as the different teams were color coded. I loved the old version. This latest update is awful. The updated graphics are about all I can say may be a minor improvement. Not needed, but cosmetically it works. I HATE the way I have to click on agenda to see the actual schedule for more than just the day I’m on. I also dislike how you have to click more than once to log your attendance. Why make it MORE complicated?? Go back. Leave the graphics, but go back to everything else.

Can’t login on mobile, can’t add additional parents. Our softball league moved to this platform and while creating events and viewing calendar on the desktop version has been a nice addition to the previous platform, I have been unable to log in to mobile for days (it keeps thinking I’m a new user) so no mobile capability (I need to be able to have this while I’m at the field!). In addition it’s a huge oversight that when creating a roster I can only add ONE email for the athlete. Newsflash: some kids have two parents who want to stay informed and in some cases those parents aren’t living in the same house. I do t want to trust one parent to go in and add the other’s email to allow them to rsvp, message, etc. ALSO….no capability to add the player in as a contact? We use Heja for another sport and I can message all parents and players at the same time if I need to…these girls are old enough they all have the app on their phones and don’t need mommy and daddy reporting if they’re running late or not coming. SportsEngine should be a sitcom on NBC because it’s such a joke.

Buggy. For several years there has been an ebb and flow of bugs and glitches in the app. Feedback has been consistent from several parents of teams I have coached over the years along with my own experience. Team logos switching, disappearing and reappearing. Calendar events simply disappear from iOS calendar despite still being subscribed. Then they reappear randomly. Chat notifications (banner, Lock Screen, bubbles, etc) work intermittently at best. Right now I cannot get 2 of my teams to show up under the chat section. But when I go to the team directly and then to chat from within the team page, I can see the chats. Lately more and more users complain that they get logged out several times a day and have to log in again. Yet if a notification happens to work it still has them logged in. It seems to be getting worse over time as I get more and more negative feedback and even request to use other apps. It’s a shame as the design and integration are actually really nice when it works. It has gotten so bad this year that our manager is trying to contact support to see what we can do. Our travel team often has last minute updates to schedules and locations and they are often missed. This creates stress for families and players and takes away from the overall experience they are meant to have in these sports programs. This app is supposed to support that positive experience and not take away from it.

1 star should be 0. Like many of the other reviews, I’m extremely frustrated by the recent update, primarily the chat function. If I try to scroll through the chat history the screen goes berserk, from what I can tell it’s trying to scroll to the top of the history. What ends up happening is the chat messages end up on top of each other causing the messages to appear jumbled and overlapped. When I looked into how to report a bug it says to go to account then settings and click the report an issue link. The issue is I have to scroll down to that area and then the report a bug link gets overlapped but another option and can’t be tapped. Frankly this is just unacceptable. The new update was clearly not tested properly. There have been enough complaints and issues that 1 of 2 things should have happened by now. Either there should have been an emergency update to fix bugs or the update should have been rolled back. I’m currently advising our sports teams to change to a new app, one that works and is responsive to its users.

Update hasn’t been seemless. I have only had sports engine since November. I noticed this week that there was an update available and needed as the version I had ws not supported. So, after doing the update I have missed messages and schedule updates. Not sure how they didn’t show up timely, but something happened. My mom said my phone had a notification about a parent meeting. When she brought me the phone I could find no info or notice anywhere about a parent meeting. A couple days later I noticed that there was a parent meeting on the schedule that night, but it wasn’t there when I had looked prior. The update completely wiped out all prior chat messages as well. Now the chat menu at the bottom of the screen doesn’t connect with the team. I can only access the chat when I go into the team and from that menu, select chat. No more shortcut for me. I didn’t have an issue with the previous version, but this one has some glitches for sure! With about 5 or 6 weeks left of the season, wish I could undo the update.

Completely frustrating and inconsistent. I would be definitely using TeamSnap if our class b did require us to use this. I’m a team manager and a parent of a kid on the team. I was given admin access to our team, but it only works from the browser, not the app (and yes, all the permissions have been set-up correctly). Others in the club have the opposite problem and can only add/edit this from the app, but not from the website. On top of this, I cannot RSVP for my own child even though I’m a guardian on her account, while other parents on the team can. I reached out to the SportsEngine customer support and was told to talk to my club, even though ghey set-up everything correctly. This is going to be a frustrating season!

Supports hackers and compromise with adds. I hate how sports engine has put add banners strategically, and dangerously, next to registration links and chat links. I do everything on my phone and it’s next to impossible not to hit one. I’ve been compromised because of it. I absolutely refuse to do registration through it or put a credit card or any banking information on this app. On top of it all they don’t accept American Express the only card that manages itself without adding all of the extra hands in the pot, and therefore more chances to be compromised with the minimum of at least three entities having your information when you use other payment in my opinion, the only secure online payment method. It really is a shame that SportsEngine does this considering that they are putting all of us at risk of compromise With these ads. Considering it serves nonprofits and children’s activities it seems extremely unethical. Again, a shame.

It’s ok but has some issues. -Push notifications for messages are hit or miss. Sometimes I get a notification, sometimes I don’t. This has caused me to miss time-sensitive information. -Chat notification stamps don’t always disappear after you’ve viewed the messages. Right now I have a notification bubble that won’t disappear and the only thing I haven’t tried is deleting the app. -Chat message time stamps are not in local time. They need to be shown in the user’s local time zone. - I still haven’t figured out how to send a message just to a subset of people. I shouldn’t have to pull out the coaches phone numbers and send a text for a message that isn’t relevant to everyone. If this feature does exist, I can’t find it. Long story short — hoping basketball will not use this app next year 🙄 and use TeamSnap like our soccer club thankfully does.

Horrible would give -10 stars if able!!!. UPDATE**** it has been 3 months- there are an immense amount of users that are having this same issue- it is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that an app that is predominantly used by many sports teams, hockey associations to ignore the issues going on with their app - it is BEYOND RIDICULOUS that ZERO attempt has been made to fix these enormous and erroneous issues. It is asinine that the users of this app can’t contact support, there is ZERO support for Sports Engine- 4 hockey teams/rep accounts I can not communicate with- there has been time sensitive chats/information I have not been able to receive. Sports Engine PLEASE be responsive and responsible and fix it or go back to an older version that had not near the bugs/glitches that the new version has. EXTREMELY disappointed and EXTREMELY annoyed that you would allow this to continue. Hands down the worst app and customer service/support!! I have contacted, reached out, emailed in regards to the updates and bugs that some (not all) users are experiencing. There is ABSOLUTELY zero support for issues with the app. Even tapping support in App Store gets you no where. I’m unable to communicate with teams, unable to communicate with other reps. The chat option is glitches and chats overlap making them unreadable. The new update is horrible. Support is horrible. I have deleted, reinstalled, logged out logged in. Severely disappointed in the app, app design and app support.

Do not even consider this app!. Update: the most recent update to the app solved the issue. It took a while to fix but things are much better and I have updated my rating.” I have never used an app more frustrating than this one. On my phone, the chats jump around and I can’t read them. On my iPad, only the first and last messages in a thread appear so I’m missing the entire conversation!! It randomly tells me I have no teams. How am I supposed to keep up with what is going on if I can’t get the messages?! Beyond frustrating and ridiculous. Seriously, use a different app than this one. There are many others that work flawlessly. Use one of them instead.

Stopped Working - No Tech Support. App stopped working one day. Now the app just launches the opening screen then crashes. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. The app doesn’t really seem to uninstall. The tech support links don’t work on mobile and they say you have to log in to submit a claim. When you log in on the web with your phone it just diverts to the app… which then crashes. I finally found some way to submit a request for help online but have heard nothing. It’s horrible they really only allow their reps to work with the sports organizations… individual help doesn’t seem to exist. Unfortunately they have such a stronghold on this market, makes for complacency in customer service.

Used to be GREAT - What happened??. This app was so helpful in so many past seasons but this year it has been nothing but glitches and inconsistencies. Here are the two major issues not just myself, but everyone else I know using this app, is currently experiencing: - Not receiving notifications!! This one is pretty major. Two kids on two different teams and one of my teams isn’t using the app because none of the parents are being notified of Chats this year. The other team is still using it unfortunately and it’s already causing miscommunication and missed message issues. We have all made sure nothing is muted, our phone push notifications are on. It’s ridiculous. - Phone numbers are not adding / saving properly. My primary phone listed is my own cell- my secondary number is my spouses phone and yet my spouses number is the only one that shows up when someone needs to reach me. I’ve tried changing this multiple times and other moms on the team are having similar issues. We have even tried fixing it on computers and as a last resort I had to take my spouses number off “secondary” so that mine would show as primary. But anytime a secondary is re-added, it re changes what shows as primary on my profile. Very frustrating.

Update absolutely terrible. This app was already frustrating to use, but the update in September of 2023 ruined any decent user friendly aspects of this app. The schedule portion can now only be viewed by clicking on each day in the calendar instead of scrolling through the days, such a waste of time! Only one guardian can RSVP for a player, used to be any guardian could, which made managing a family calendar much easier. The notification dot will not go away when you’ve read chat messages, so you never know if you have new messages to read without opening the app. Do better and check with your users before updating anything else and making this app we are forced to use for our kid’s team an absolute nightmare!

Not intuitive, difficult for divorced parents, notifications not working. Only one parent can have an account with access to the kids. It’s the parent that registers the kids. Other parent can’t have their own account and access to kids, other than as a guardian. But the guardian only gets emails and notifications related to kids but won’t get emails and notifications from the league admin. Very frustrating!!!!!! We had initially set up one parent as secondary email address on the account of the parent that registered but secondary email address was not getting any of league admin emails. I was missing all the league admin notifications about key league dates. Half the parents in the league weren’t getting emails either. This is a disaster for the league and a very poorly designed app and website. Very disappointing. I was on with customer service via chat for an hour and could not get this all to work. I defaulted back to adding me as secondary email address with my ex-wife, so we now have to share a login and password to access our kids information.

Great app. Need to fix a bug.. I have been coaching youth sports for 10 years and this is the only app I hoped to ever use. It is great for scheduling, RSVP’ing, and communicating with parents. It also makes it easy to add spouses or other family members to the account. The calendar link is super convenient so when events are added, they automatically update everyone’s phone calendars. Every one of my parents and I experience a bug where when we re-open the app on iPhones it prompts us to enter our email address to create an account. But if you force quit the app and re-open it, it signs you in automatically and picks you up where you left off without needing to enter an email. This should be a pretty easy bug to fix. It’s also why I didn’t give it five stars.

Blocked from tech support. First, much about this app is great and helps navigate sports your kids play. But if: you mistakenly not add a parent in the registration period, that same person has an active account they’ve used to register the kids with, and you’re organization is (to put it nicely) not known for its support of parents (in my case, ignored repeated requests for help), then it causes more grief than it helps. Why? Because SE will not help people who have accounts directly. That means someone like me will NEVER get account issues resolved. All such things just snowball and you get to where you hate the organization and SE as the two create so many roadblocks to otherwise simple tasks.

Not a good app. I’m baffled how this app has a star rating of 4.8. It’s just incredibly slow. Click on the “Chat” button at the bottom and nothing happens; Click on the “Schedule” button and it says “nothing scheduled”, and then maybe, sometimes, the actual team schedule will pop up. For the record I have a new iPhone 13 Pro and a fast data connection via fiber network, so it’s not the equipment being used. I’ve learned the tricks for navigating it to make the Chat/Schedule display, but it’s a really buggy app, very slow to display info, and just not a good user experience. Many of the parents on our team complain of the same thing. There are much, much, better alternatives available for managing/communicating with your team, and I’m going to talk with our organization’s director to see if we can try something different. Using this one is semi-brutal.

Doesn’t save edits/updates to events. Edit: If I could rate this app 0 stars, I would. I have been attempting to put in new practice times and it keeps changing the times I input and will not let me edit. It says the updates were saved, but they are not correct. This app is extremely frustrating and unreliable. This app has so many great features (schedule, rsvp, contact info, chat) that should make it a team’s go-to app, but it is not user friendly. The app regularly crashes, doesn’t save updates, and you can’t seamlessly go from item to item when creating a schedule. My greatest, overall concern is the app doesn’t update/save properly when a game or event is edited. I get a pop-up that says my event has been saved/updated, but when you check back in the schedule- the updates are not there (even after closing out, reopening the app). This is key when making sure families have the most-current information.

Update Full of Bugs - No Longer Functional. DO NOT UPDATE YOUR APP. I never should have updated the app. I have had nothing but issues since the recent updates. I cannot add anything to the schedule or change anything already scheduled without sending a notification for EVERY change made - even when making sure to not select the button to notify the team. After the update, all of my extra details for games were erased for the season - uniform details, arrival times, and any notes for events. When I’d add scores using the app, it will save but then only show the game as final with no scores listed for either team. The chat feature in the new app no longer supports hyperlinks, which we would send out after each game to share game photos. I’ve tried working with support but received little to no response, and any responses have been delayed by days and provided no solutions. I regret ever updating the app. If the choice were up to me as the team manager, I would not continue using this software and find a better solution.

Worst app. I’ve been using this app because my hockey program requires it and, simply put, it is awful. I can’t understand why anyone would give this more than one star. Regularly, the app will pull up rosters from previous teams thus increasing the likelihood of my accidentally sending updates to the wrong families (and the right families not getting the updates). It constantly takes forever to load. This morning it won’t load and keeps literally crashing. I’ll probably have to delete it and reinstall it and hope that fixes the problem. Functionality is poor. Options for inviting players to events is not intuitive. (Why not make a button instead of an innocuous text link). If I try to send a message to the team, I either have to keep my message very short or copy and paste a longer message after I input the addressees. One of my programs gave up on trying to use it because it’s admin interface was too flawed. We went to TeamSnap instead.

Started Great. I have been using SE for 3-4 years now. When I started it was great!! Now all of these updates cause issues with chat notifications, you can’t click hyperlinks in chats. Parents are always having to delete and download the app again. The app crashes constantly. Stat page is always jumbled together on the app despite sending several screen shots to their support team. There are other similar providers out there with less bugs. Also being forced to pay a increase to $129/month for their new Season Management model that doesn’t work for our program. It took months to get back on Sport a manager but we are still be charged for the “new version”. There are other options out there that don’t charge for constant system issues.

Don’t rely on info in app. When opening the app it does not update as you would expect a well functioning app to do. If there have been changes to a schedule you have to tap schedule when already looking at the schedule to get it to update. Even if you close the app and restart it you’re likely looking at an old schedule until tapping the schedule icon again. We learned this the hard way after showing up to a practice that had been rescheduled. We closed the app rebooted the phone and still saw the old version of a schedule. After hitting the schedule button while already looking at the schedule the schedule updated and the practice disappeared. Very frustrating to plan on a practice and find out we wasted our afternoon because the sports engine app isn’t capable of updating on its own or even having a refresh button.

Scheduling is busted and no support. Unfortunately our league switched to this app this year. So far had a list of issues mainly related to scheduling…..which is one of the most important aspects. 1) Google calendar sync is not easy. Had to find a work around to copy and paste the URL. Definitely does not work from from the one tap button in the app. I have the iPhone 12 and the most up to date software. I schedule everything in our personal lives through Google Calendars. Cannot not comment iPhone/apple calendar. 2) Once using the work around in item #1 for Google calendar sync you cannot update a title or time worth out deleting and recreating the event. 3) No way to differentiate calendars for different teams. I have two kids in our baseball league at different ages. Once I did sync the google calendar all events show up under the same shared calendar “My Sports Engine” Calendar. So any coach that just titles their event “Practice” means you can have multiple “Practice” headings with no way to tell the teams apart. So then I tried to rename the events as I’m an admin for one team as an assistant . But then it does not work because of item #2. 4) No customer support for the general public. I’m trying to fix these issues and not just complain, the website only offers FAQs that have been answered…..with answers that don’t work. No way to “ask” a question. Would not recommend this app to anyone in it’s current state.

Absolutely terrible. Our soccer club started using this app this year. It’s absolutely terrible. It’s clear that the people developing it have no idea how teams use it. It’s location feature is a mess. I end up putting game locations in other spots so our parents can find the location address and not default to the location website and have to find it there. When i want to make a simple change to game info (uniform, add field number, etc.), even though I click to not notify the team, it does so immediately. This causes way too many unimportant messages to be sent. There are unnecessary privacy features that make it difficult to get contact info for teammates. This app/program is just a mess. We have a tournament this weekend and i have no faith in my ability to get the app to do what I need it to do. I am going to personally pay for my team to use TeamSnap again because I dislike this app so much. I will encourage our club to move back to TS next year. If not, I’ll continue to pay to use TS, since the developers of it clearly understand how their app is used and what their customers want and need.

Fix the message notifications. Errors with the message notifications have been present for years now. Updates always say they have fixed the problem but it always returns. It’s either 1) notifications don’t show up when they should and you don’t know there are messages until you open the app or 2) the notification badge never goes away. Even after you e read all messages. I’ve logged out, deleted/reinstalled the app, turned phone on and off. Nothing works. Add to it the fact that now I have to sign in nearly every time I open the app. The 5 star reviews here are bogus. We have a soccer club with nearly 1,000 players and I ha ent met a single coach or parent who would Recommend this app. It’s constantly mocked but “it’s cheap”. There is absolutely no way this app has a legitimate 4.8 star rating. It’s garbage.

Horrible app most of the time. This is one of the glitchiest apps I have ever used. There are always bugs. They make major changes to the app with no warning (not that they have to but a heads up that the next login will not be automatic and the entire format will be different would be courteous at least). The messaging portion is atrocious. It feels like I’m using some cheap app that has no support. Messages don’t save as you type them. Sometimes you might have to look up info while typing up a message and when you come back your entire message is gone. . . But not every time. Sometimes while typing a longer message the screen doesn’t scroll down to allow you to see what you are typing. . . But not every time. This app is only widely used because we are held hostage by what our organization managers use. Otherwise, this app would be in the trash where it belongs. I even had it showing one of our games listed backwards as to who was the home team, but it was only my app. Everyone else said something different. As the head coach that is a serious issue. Ask your organization to use a different app if you can. This one is just plain junk. When it works correctly

People are missing games…. A core component of the app isn’t working. Calendar view will say one day, click into the game and it’ll say a different day. We are now using the in-app chat every game day to make sure people know the correct dates.

Recommend. It has team chat, schedule with geolocation locations, roster with photos, names, numbers, positions. Only down side I’ve found is you can’t upload schedule items from a csv file.

Brutal Beta Rollout. Used to be good until this year. After collecting the annual payment of course, SE rolled every user into the “Beta” version. This “Beta” version lacked a bunch of great features including stats and created headaches with the new calendar layout. It was like pulling teeth just to get the RSVP feature back. Hockey Shift is far superior now.

Can’t See New Posts. At first this app was amazing and I can see the benefits. However I stopped being able to see posted games and events on the app, they just don’t show up. When I linked the app to my calendar I can see when they are on my phone calendar and it will send me emails to rsvp but they still don’t show up on the actual app. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app so many times and it won’t fix itself. Soooooo frustrating!

Keeps Crashing. Would love it if this app would update faster and crash less.

Doesn’t open.. The app doesn’t work on every device. It doesn’t matter if they are the same or different make and models. Just sometimes it won’t work at all for some. It freezes at the login screen and the “Next” button is unresponsive.

Help!!! The app keeps crashing; can’t open it. As of the last 6-7 days, I can no longer get into the Sports Engine app. As soon as I try to open it, it just crashes and closes. I’ve been using the app for a couple of years now, and have never had this issue. I have tried: Checked my iPhone and iPad for updates, and have the latest versions installed Checked SportsEngine for updates on the AppStore Restarted iPhone completely - multiple times Uninstall and reinstall SportsEngine - multiple attempts I’ve tried all of the above on my iPhone, as well as my iPad, to no avail. Good. Good for chatting with the team, and other basic stuff. But as for actually checking practices I just leave that for the Apple calendar app since it takes way too long to load.

Poor update not usable. I have iPhone 14 and have been using app for 2 years but since 2-3 months changes I make such as adding a team it defaults back. I have to do this every time. And still have no access to teams chat no matter what. I’ve contacted support but “they will look into it”. Still nothing.

Why did you mess with a good thing?. Even one star is too favourable. I have a newer phone, so my device isn’t the issue. The app is barely useable now. I used to rely on it to stay up to date on my kids’ teams. The chats are so glitchy. If I’m late to a chat, it’s like I never received it because the app doesn’t allow me to scroll up. As soon as I try to scroll back down, comments collide. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing fixes this calamity of an app.

Good app but buggy. The app overall is very comprehensive but it doesn’t get a higher rating from me because it is very buggy in some key features. For example, sometimes you save a response and or a piece of information and it reverts back to the previous value. Due to this there has been numerous times that game times have been mixed up in my team. Also, I have already logged in but I click on a notification, it forces me to login again. So if I just close the app and reopen it, I can bypass that.

New update is terrible. The new update has issues with glitches and notifications in the chat group. Links sent within it don't work at all. The new formatting of the calendar is not user friendly at all. Go back to the list rather than making users click on each day!

New update is awful. The new update is. It user friendly. I like the “agenda” view but have to change it to agenda every time. It takes me awhile to remember how to get to that view and have to click on multiple things before finally finding it. For busy families ( as we all are who have children in sports) this is a terrible set up.

Field maps. Would be nice to have a map of the fields and what the numbers are. In the books we used to have maps of the fields do you knew which field was which.

Awful update. You can only see the day selected rather than the rolling schedule. It’s NOT user friendly.

Barely good. If you can find your team, it’s good. But if your team is at the bottom of the list (like the last two), you cannot get them because the search keyboard is in the way. If you are able to remove the keyboard then the list disappears. Utterly frustrating!

Keeps losing my teams. The app keeps “forgetting” my teams, and I have to remember to log out and back in again to be able to see them / get notifications again…. Until it happens again a day or two later. Please fix!

App continuously not functioning properly. Certain features on the app do not work. The one star review is that these have been ongoing issues for months and the service team has not resolved, simply saying this is because of a bug but with no solution. The key features that consistently do not work make this app similar to a Facebook poll to rsvp.

Needs work. Please fix the bugs !!!! Sometimes it shows I have 200 notifications when really it’s 1. Randomly have to sign back in. Sometimes my Team isn’t there or the chat is unavailable. It just needs a little work. Love the concept, and layout. It just needs a fix

Wish the team had have picked ANY other app 👎🏻👎🏻. We have used many an app for sports this one is by far the worst! Notifications aren’t compatible with vpn so you just don’t get them. Not to mention the “always” new notification dots when there are no new notifications. Inability to add your OWN child’s photos etc. would not use if I had a choice.

Great app!. Compared to other personal team apps I’ve used for my sports, this one is by far the most in depth, versatile and easy to use. Wish my own team’s league would switch to this app.

Chat glitches like crazy. Eveytime I scroll on in the chat, it glitches pretty badly. I unfortunately just don’t use it now. It makes it too difficult to communicate with the coach and the rest of the team. Please fix this issue ASAP!

Updated app and lost user names. My app forced me to update and then it lost our whole chat. New chat has everyone listed as unknown user. Your newest update says it fixes chat issues but it seems to have caused issues instead.

Terrible.. This app is terrible. If I didn’t HAVE to use it because of Ontario Soccer Association I wouldn’t have it anywhere near my phone. The UX his terrible, the data management is terrible, the ADS are terrible. The app loses information and does not sync properly. Just terrible.

Messaging is worse. I didn’t think it could be more inconvenient to send a message to the team from my phone but you’ve managed to make it worse. The message doesn’t scroll as you type so you are typing without being able to see the message and editing is really difficult. Still not as annoying as when I am almost done a long update to the team and the message disappears with no draft or saved version to recover. I like the app but these seem like easy and obvious fixes.

Update. So again a new update was released today and yet again says bug fixes and improvements. Well I’m here to say again that the chat is still glitched and won’t let me scroll up without it freaking out and then all the text from the chat is smashed together. Again do a lot of testing before releasing and make sure the problem is fixed. Missed another message in the chat for my sons football team! I am super upset because now I have to have another parent text me with what was sent in the chat because the app after the “bug fix” is hot hot garbage!!!

Time Zone Issue. This app is a great help until you travel and then come back for the wrong game time! Unless I just can’t figure it out, there is no way to control the time zones (turn off/on in settings) when you travel. We had gone to east coast and thought daughter’s game was at 3:30 (when we looked from east coast). We get back home in central time zone and almost then almost missed the game! Please add something in Settings that allows you to control this yourself. We had several other parents on the team say that this happened to them too! Otherwise a great app!

Glitch and terrible UI. This app has a number of issues but here are the worst: - Scrolling issues when composing messages. Bottom of page gets cut off and doesn't scroll with text so once you exceed the height of the page the text becomes hidden behind the keyboard. Also after adding an opponent the opponents toward the bottom aren't selectable until you swipe up the app window and swipe it back down. - Spell check disabled. Predictive text and auto correct don't work in the app when composing messages. - No ability to create massaging groups. For example, if you want to message just your coaches you have to manually select all their names each time. - No ability to attach anything to a message - Event/game locations and opponents not saving. Reverts back to TBD after saving changes. - Desktop version is even worse than all this. Pay for TeamSnap or GameChanger. Both are better.

It used to be great!. So my only current beef with this app is that I’m not receiving push notifications anymore. I e checked, double checked, and triple checked all notification settings. Notifications are on. I don’t get messages until several hourss (or the next day) after the fact. I’m not a slave to my phone, so I’m not checking messages every minute of the day. Not good when parents are trying to communicate with the coaches. Not sure if this is an OS issue or an application issue. But it’s a recent phenomenon for me.

Can’t log in, magic link doesn’t work. Downloaded the app as requested by my child’s coach. Vaguely remember using it some years past, and apparently I have an account but don’t know the password. The only option is to request a magic link, which I do. The link takes me to the App Store where I can click again to open the app. There’s a checkbox suggesting it will remember my link when I open the app but it doesn’t. Cycle repeats. I suppose I can try using a different email but I have already wasted more time on this than I cared to today. Hopefully their developers will fix this bug.

Need Update to Current Version. I am an organization administrator and have contacted you 3 times now to report the same issue about the chat feature not allowing the ability to scroll back through previous posts. We rely on this feature to communicate with parents/players and they are not receiving all of the information and are frustrated. The response I received from your support group is this is a “known issue” and it is being worked on. When will a new update be released?

Sports made easy. I’m a coach for youth sports as well as a weekend softball player. This app has revolutionized the way I prepare for both sides. Even as a parent who may have questions about practice or about the sport - the app makes all that accessible within your team chat. ++ I was originally having trouble with one of my teams that another coach set up for us. I reached out for tech support and easily they were able to locate the issue and solve for us. Great customer service.

schedule no longer works. unfortunately after updating the app, the sxgedule feature no longer functions properly. i have tried adding recurring practices on mondays & wednesdays from mid-November through mid-February. the monday recurring event only goes through mid-December & the Wed recurring event has not populated at all, despite attempting to add twice. I’m concerned this app is not going to support our needs & we may need to find a totally different app. I hope the app creators can correct this huge bug or restore to the previous version. if not, this app no longer serves its main purpose, which is a shame bc the app was AWESOME & DEPENDABLE prior to my updating the app

Team Manager Problem. I haven’t had any problems with this app until recently. I am listed by my club admin as manager for my team as I have been for many years. For some reason this year I can no longer perform my duties on the app and our admin cannot figure out why. I do not have access to load games or events, edit them, enter game scores. Nothing at all now. Our club admin is at a loss why it’s not working. I have logged out and back in, they have deleted me and added me back on. Nothing works. Never had these problems when we were all TeamSnap.

Ok but not great. So I’ve used SE for a few years. It’s great for having team schedules, rosters, parent info, and rsvp. This just focuses on the app, not overall service. Lately I haven’t been receiving notifications for chats and neither have other team parents, making me believe it’s not my device that is the problem. It appears photos can only be uploaded one at a time, which isn’t very convenient for that feature. The chat is a huge part of the app so I hope the notification issue is resolved in an update soon.

Buggiest App in my phone. This app seems to have numerous incompatibilities with iPhone 15 Pro and iOS 17.0.3. Individual message text lays on top of each other when scrolling through a chat, scrolling through a game instance then creates a situation where graphics then lays on top of text. At times the app has frozen and at times I can’t rsvp to a game. Have already deleted and reloaded the app.. won’t fix the situation. Maybe one of the developers can go through UAT as a team member user this time instead of as a team admin to realize and fix the issues. The buggiest app in my entire phone.

Suggestions. Provide the ability to view who liked the comments or pictures just like any social media source nowadays. Add a “poll feature” I used to use that all the time with the last team app I had (groupme) we used it to decide uniform color or where to go for a championship celebration. Voting results were anonymous. Add automatic reminder intervals. So if the game is Sunday at noon...there would be a reminder sent 2hours before or 1 day before or even multiple reminders that can be set up at the time as the original event is inputted.

Mobile App is Inconsistent. Sometimes I open a game and see all the tabs. Other times I open it and see nothing. Sometimes I open the stats page and it works, other times I open it and get nothing. Sometimes I open the app and it says I have to login, then I close the app and reopen it and I magically don’t have to login… It’s pretty obvious you guys built the mobile app with async libraries, but you haven’t done a very good job to be honest. You really need to work on making certain components in the web view static and rendering a loading component on the sub component blocks.

Proceed with caution. Entered login credentials, to which I'm met with the content loading spinning wheel. I performed basic troubleshooting myself before finally reaching out and "report a problem" and to seek assistance from the "devs". We emailed back and forth a few times but once I put the heat on and asked for a resolution expeditiously as my sons organization had already added him to the roster and this is our primary form for team communication for two teams I received a final email from the "sports engine" support team stating they cannot help. Excuse me, whaaat!!? If the app's own developers can't make it usable then who do I contact for further assistance? Unbelievable and incredibly suspicious.

No Sounds for Notifications. This app is driving me crazy! Please, please update the iOS version to allow sound alerts. All notifications are turned on in the app, and the only notification option on the iOS side is “banners.” That is absolutely useless when timely information is being communicated by coaches and parents. This is an app issue, NOT an Apple issue. This has been ongoing and should be a priority for functionality. Lately, I’m not even getting the subpar banner alerts and have to intentionally check the app anytime I **think** there might be a chat. Please fix this and make the app useful!

Barely works. Might be the WORST team management software ever made. The website barely works, I see a spinner when clicking on my team and nothing happens. Yes, I’ve tried multiple browsers. The iOS app stinks, it lags big time so you have to wait on the screen to wait for data to load. And they provide ZERO help to parents, only coaches. The note on their website says to contact your coach. Well, coaches are not admins or tech people. The last thing they want to deal with is technical shortcomings for this service. Get your stuff together, it’s embarrassing. There’s so many other great options — TeamSnap, GameChanger, etc. I wish our coaches didn’t pick this one.

Last update is junk. This app is great when it works which is about 50% of the time. An update comes along and things work as they should…and then another one comes along and screws it all up. Right now the app freezes constantly if I can even get it to open, won’t let you update anything before it glitches out and closes or just gives an error message. We’ve been using this app for many many years and I hate it more and more each year. Our club has started looking at paying for an additional app outside SE that will be more user friendly and RELIABLE! Come on SE get it together!

Update is terrible. I used to love how easy this app was to see my sons schedule. I just had to scroll down and everything was there for the season. The new update is terrible. It makes the schedule very difficult to navigate as it only shows you dots on dates and only 1 week at a time. Then you have to touch on each date to see what is scheduled for that day. Not user friendly and adds a lot of unnecessary clicks and time to navigating a schedule that was extremely easy to navigate on previous versions. Please bring back the old schedule type!

Schedule viewing needs work. This app functions well, despite some slow load times. The biggest issue with this app is viewing schedules. There is no calendar view, and no way to sort games/practices. So if you want to look further out than a week, you have to sift through multiple events to find something on a certain day. The older version of the app was much easier to view events, more importantly future events.

Behind on a few functions and latest update…. First - the latest update wiped out my chat history. I cannot look at all my teams chats. This really is not helping things. Secondly - compared to other services the app could use some updated features - COVID Health Screening, Injury reporting, better scheduling functionality, scoring of games should be more intuitive and allow player stats to be entered. With the lack of app improvements we may look to other companies to provide the services SportsEngine provides.

Great app…when it actually works. Conceptually, this is a great app. It’s user-friendly, easy to use and helps us stay organized with 3 kiddos on 3 different teams. Unfortunately, it’s clunky 90% of the time, it re-loads with every click, and logs me out frequently. It will show badges of unread messages even after they’ve been reviewed; or it’ll show I have 85+ unread messages when really there is only 1 or 2. The web app is much easier to use but would love if that ease-of-use transferred to the mobile app as that is when we need it the most: on the field.

App won’t load. I sent the following review weeks ago. Tech support has been absolutely awful. My app hasn’t worked for 3 weeks and your support team has been so slow to respond. I wouldn’t recommend this app to any organization because when parents have a problem, they aren’t there to help you. I have had trouble with my app for over a week. It took 4 days to get an email response back, app support can’t be contacted via phone, our league organizer has been trying to help for a week & it’s been a slow response. My app still won’t even load, it just keeps spinning. I’m very disappointed and dissatisfied.

Very Disappointed. This app used for payments by club is terrible . You can only pay based on the set up in the system. The club said they cannot change. Unable to pay more monies based on set up or change date funds are taken. Per the club they are unable to make any changes even administratively . This app should allow you to place the money you want and then deduct what is still owed . You should be able to make a payment plan as long as all fees are paid by the due date. The processing charges also are crazy. In the world of sending monies for free with so many different apps they should not be charging or if charging nothing more than $1.00.

Horrible updates. Sports Engine, how is it your app keeps getting glitchier and worse overall? I’ve put up with notifications that will not disappear after reading and transacting every message in a chat to the point I’ve just turned off notifications from your app. Now I’m being harassed by new advertising boxes at the top of my chats that flash and tell me I have a new message, only to Rickroll me to some garbage spamming website. Is having a little bit of class in what you’ll allow advertisers to do on your platform too big of an ask? You guys really are rubbish. If I could give you zero stars I would.

Why no app icon badges?. So overall I’ve been really pleased with the app. I can manage most of what my kid’s team needs from us which is helpful. One thing that is really missing is the app badge with notifications for chat. We use the chat feature constantly and nothing. You have to login, click your team and then into chat to get caught up. Why not have an app badge to show how many unread messages? Other competing sports team apps do it and it seems a glaring omission. Please consider in future updates.

Significant Downgrade. I have happily used this app for a few years but am very disappointed in how it functions now. Scheduling has become inconsistent, especially with recurring events. Chat notifications either don’t appear at all, or you can’t convince the app that you’ve read the message. I could not edit the positions of my players most of this season, but that appears to be resolved now. Not sure what changed, but I hope they are able to resolve the remaining issues before next season. Otherwise, I will have to look for a different tool.

Get rid of the advertisements.. The advertisements are ridiculous and get in the way all of the time. I have clicked on them multiple times because they are in the way and secondly because I actually thought they were part of the app. Personally I like the functionality of most of the app however because of the advertisements I would never use the app unless I have to and that’s the case now because that’s what our league uses. There’s no chance I would ever recommend this app to anyone as long as the advertisements are within the app. Seriously figure it out and stop trying to make every penny you can make on us users.

This app never works! Waste of time!. There are so many core features that DO NOT work on this app. #1 I cannot add a location to Home games. It doesn’t save. #2 It won’t save a 2nd parent info, so only one parent has access and gets messages. That also does not save. #3 The recurring function, for example, setting up a recurring practice, does not work properly. #4 the online version does not sync with the app. I don’t see the games I’ve added. There are so many issues that have never been fixed that this app is just useless and unusable. I’ve spent so many hours on workarounds and redoing entries. I really hate this app! I would not recommend it!

Schedule updates not being reflected. I’m happy the chat and notifications have been fixed, but lately I’ve noticed schedule updates aren’t being saved properly. The admin for our team will make a change to a scheduled event, the notification is received that a change was made, but the schedule shows no change occurred. It’s frustrating to keep the team updated when changes don’t flow through the update process properly.

Awful Interface - Site Map. Horrible interface and explanation of SportsEngine. Several places the page almost purposely is designed to confuse the new user. Where another form is listed, required etc. that is a natural place for a hyperlink, but no hyperlinks are there. Why? “You must submit a form.” Where is the form? If you have to warn users generally to eliminate duplicate accounts, that is a pretty clear indicator that your process, or instructions, are not clear to the average person. The site is a great idea, but the execution of the great idea is wanting some improvement and attention. PLEASE FIX IT.

November 2023 Update = 😩. I manage a mite hockey team and have two kids playing hockey as well. The calendar in the latest update is absolutely destroying me!!! It was SO nice to be able to scroll down the calendar to see all your games. Now I have to scroll left to right and click on each individual day to even read what event is on that day. I hate it so much! It’s so difficult to get my bearings. Bring back the scrolling calendar! I’d love to have the option to view it the current way while also being able to switch to scrolling!

Most frustrating login experience. I can’t believe how much trouble I’ve had (twice now) trying to get logged into this app. So ridiculously broken. Just save everyone a ton of trouble and remove the option to login via Facebook. That whole flow is just horrible. Finally got logged in and then when I upgraded my phone I had to burn another hour going through this nonsense again. That being said, the app itself is moderately helpful. One request though... Why can’t I add a scheduled even to my calendar? I can’t even copy and paste so I have to manually copy and paste game times and locations into my calendar. Overall, pretty frustrating.

Disappointing. Losing the list view on the updated app is very disappointing. Having to click on each day to see your schedule is time consuming and not very convenient. If you could bring back the list view on top of the many updates you have made would be phenomenal. Unfortunately, I have been looking into whether our teams could have everything function in the TeamSnap app because of the loss of the list view with many complaints by the parents.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This app is garbage. If you get one chat message it indicates you have 732 of them. The app freezes every time you open it, requiring you to completely shut it down and reopen just to see messages. For team administrators it is not at all user friendly. I don’t know who the 118k people are that rate this app highly, but they’ve clearly never used other team communication apps. I don’t know a single person forced to use this app for their kid’s sports who thinks it is not worthless. You have to update this app all the time and yet the bugs are still never fixed.

Worst app I’ve ever used. Update: whole team hated this app so thankfully they moved to a different app this year and I was able to delete this app. New one is much better. Yay! This app should be an embarrassment to NBC. How they can put their logo on it is beyond me. Coaches - please find something else to use chats that don’t work right. Auto log out all the time. Message notifications but then can’t read them. Randomly saying I’m not a member of any teams. Photos that you can’t enlarge or download. Notifications that I have 287 messages when I have 2. I have never used an app with more bugs. Our team started sending emails as backups.

iPhone app is getting faster. Still some delay, but recently has been faster. I still prefer the web browser though as it is much more user friendly. However, there is not parity on the mobile app and the web browser, example, player contact information such as email and phone number are easily available on the app but not in the browser, if it is, it definitely is not the same end user workflow, the development teams are not synchronized or properly managed with output. I shouldn’t need both an iPhone and a PC to be both agile and informed.

No Support. Unfortunately, I have reached out to SportsEngine to get help with their app (the app, currently up to date, cannot go past the email log in screen). I submitted and request for help on the app but the people who are on the support team only know how to tell users to “delete and re-install the app”. Not only did I try that before contacting them, but I did it multiple times after they suggested it. After I emailed back I had done so without the problem being solved, there was no response. So the site itself is useful however the app has poor support and also multiple people who don’t keep track of the “tickets” that are inserted. Hence the 1 start review.

Ads as notifications, chat is eh. You almost certainly want to have to allow notifications so that you get alerts for your events. The App uses that to send ads as notifications. I don’t mean putting ads in legit messages for your event. I mean they light up your phone with notifications of just ads. Very annoying. The chat in the app is pretty clunky as far as modern chat implementations go. Messages don’t show up right, people’s names change to “unknown” for months, etc.

Awful synchronization and updating. I wish our organization would stop using this app. It’s awful. A game was added to our schedule over a week ago and it never showed up on my calendar. Finally tonight I changed my view from agenda to day by day and then back again and suddenly it started to show. Last year I submitted a ticket for similar issues with the chat, and it’s still not fixed. App shows there’s new chats but when I open the chat there’s nothing new. I told the coach we’d be better off using an excel worksheet that is shared out to everyone on a OneDrive.

Horrible app. I have no idea who is giving this app so many stars. We used to use Game Changer and switched to this garbage. You can’t send private chats (so if your kid is sick, you get to tell the whole team, and they all have to hear about it). You can send messages, from the desktop, but YOU CAN’T READ THEM ON THE APP. What good is an app that won’t let you read the messages?? ‘Fields are closed’. Fantastic. Let me go home, get on my pc, open up my web browser, go to your site, and find that gem of information. Schedules are supposed to auto populate, but we will see. The practice schedule did not. Oh, and in other apps, you can ask ‘should we cancel practice? Thumbs up to play, thumbs down to cancel.’ No such function here. I tried the ‘like this post so I know which players still need to connect.’ No way to tell who liked it. So now I’m left with ‘hey everyone, tell me you are here….’ and a whole team getting a notification every time someone answers. Hate it.

Very buggy and some basic features missing. The app continually tells me I have two messages unread, even though I don’t. (Yes triple checked.) As a zero-inbox person, that’s super irritating. Pictures of myself, teammates, and the team logo constantly disappear. We keep reuploading them only to see them go away. Messaging lacks the ability to edit, so you have to make multiple messages if you goof. No ability (at least that I can tell) to message individual or several users; just the whole team. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck.

Coach / parent. Good app. It would be a great app if you could have multiple adults (let’s call them parents) tied to one account. As a coach and my wife as the president of the program and team mom, she has my son under her. I’ve tried working with support several times, but have not been able to get this issue resolved. The other main issue is the coaches ability to communicate with the team. I don’t have the ability to group text the team parents. Email, yes, but not text. For now, three stars. It has room to get better.

Horrible. If you are a coach don't use this app.. I have played volleyball for several years at on national travel team. This app has by far been THE WORST app that any of my coaches have EVER used to schedule practices. This app is extremely slow and buggy. Everytime I open it up, it takes a good five minutes to load up and the most I can do is RSVP for 1 practice before it freezes up and refuses to work. To the creators of this app, did you make it on a microwave? This app is truly horrid, and I pray for whoever has to use it next. If i could rate this a 0 I would, unfortunately, the lowest I can give it is a 1.

New Updates are Awesome!. The ability to add and update games through the mobile is awesome! Quick and easy - my 13 yr old daughter finalized our game on the way out of the parking lot last night AND she added today's tournament game. In updated the game score on the bench and the parents not able to attend the game commented how nice it was to receive the notifications in their phones. Keep up the good work!

Not helpful at all. I down loaded the app thinking this would help with organizing team events. First the app wouldn’t let me register it said my email was on file, so I called customer service the person I spoke to said I needed to speak to another person in a different department after being transfer the second person said the first person should have helped me and transferred me back to the first person who again either didn’t know or just didn’t want to help me. Finally after playing the transfer game because customers don’t matter to them I hung up and down loaded the competitors app. Hire someone who know what’s going on.

Poor. The app constantly crashes. It also wants to constantly make people log in again (just close it and reopen it then you won’t have to login again.) So many bugs and glitches, it never works smoothly. And despite our organization paying for SE, there are ads on the app that get in the way of where you want to be able to see your team’s info! It’s unfortunate that they are getting away with providing such a poor app experience for a service that is being paid for.

Great App!. The app really was the best thing to happen to my team, it kept us organised and made scheduling practices so much easier!! Some of the player couldn’t make it to practice some days, so we put the plays in as videos and as they looked over them, our team seemed even more put together than before!The app is super easy to use and manage, I would definitely recommend!!

Has a lot of room for improvement. There are A LOT of sports team management apps out there. If SE wants to compete, it has a lot of room for improvement. The following improvements and capabilities are needed: - ability to post/run volunteer signups for a specific event - ability to selectively chat with with individual groups instead of whole team - ability to email individual people instead of all the guardians for a specific player. - to not delete all the previously input availability if you edit an events details.

Worst update EVER. PLEASE FIX THE CHAT!!! I have updated the app, my phone, restarted, emailed for assistance, submitted a help request 3x, and I have yet to get a fix. Outside of the calendar being terrible (edit: the calendar is better with latest update 12/6), the chat feature doesn't work AT ALL. You can see the last message, but if you try to scroll up, it scrolls to the beginning of the chat and won't scroll back, it glitches and has messages on top of other messages, and won't stop scrolling. Just awful. I was hopeful the most recent update would fix this... but NOPE!

App can use some improvements. The app works well but it needs some improvements to be more interactive and function like social media. The chat section should allow for tagging … if you want to reply to someone specifically you should be able to tag “@someone”. The “like” heart button should show at WHO liked the comment!!! At least the original poster should be able to see WHO liked their comment. The like button should function like FB or IG that shows you WHO liked the comment!
