An atlas kids want to browse. This is a beautiful and engaging app and the interface is relatively intuitive. I love the animated icons and the music/sounds that change depending on the region you are browsing. My toddler son lives to spin the globe and click on objects that interest him. My 5th grade son went straight for areas of interest to him. We all enjoy the 3D images associated with some of the features and wish there were more. The optional narration is terrific for children who are not yet able to read, but pronunciation of some local place names or objects is wrong, making it feel a little biased. Also, some of the photos do not match the location with which they are associated. I hope future refinements take this into account, but we will continue to use and enjoy this.

Love the puzzles, quizzes and facts!. We recently downloaded this app on my son’s iPad and he loves spinning the globe and zooming in to explore different parts of the world. The quizzes about transportation and animals have been a huge hit. There are videos, songs and puzzles - I love that it is educational and fun and making him curious about the world’s diversity, definitely recommend this app!

Update PLZ!. Add These Countries: Abkhazia Adygea Åland Islands Altai Republic Anjouan Córsica Netherlands Antilles Republica Spraska Riau Shetland Somaliland And Tuva

Disappointed. This app is not what I expected , the only way to get interaction is to continue to make more purchases....

Great app. Love every bit of it!

4/5. This is an incredible app. It has taught me several new facts about geography. But unfortunately, I’m starting to notice that the app is a little bit broken. For example, some of the pictures on the Point Of Interests are not interactive. Otherwise, it’s a great app.

Fun AND educational!. Learning about new parts of the world is the best :)

The best educational app!. Barefoot World Atlas app is fun and educational. I love spinning the globe to find a new place to discover. Plus the quizzes really put your knowledge to a test! If you’re looking for an interactive way to learn about the world: continents, art, different cultures, you’re in the right spot. You’ll encounter so much more! Perfect for kids and adults alike.

great for my 8 yr old. my 8 yr old son is dyslexic, and this atlas is fabulous for him because it is narrated! we use it together to learn about different regions, and since it is narrated, he also enjoys exploring it on his own. its a valuable addition to our homeschooling. please consider adding narration to the add-on packs!!

Its very good. The quality is very good and is very educational to kids, I recommend getting this for your kids to help them learn.

Much better after update. The recent update makes it possible to do the different quizzes on an iPad, and it is now as it should be. The information is very helpful to learn more about regions or individual countries of the world. Very nice app and I will say that the makers of the app were responsive about fixing the glitches with the previous version!

Great for your kid & you'll learn something too,,. This app is awesome!! Even though this app was designed for an older child, even my not yet 5-year-old daughter loved it & wanted to keep exploring. Then my husband & I spent 2 hours exploring & learned all kids of fun & useful info!! Great reference in 3d for country facts plus tons of info on landmarks, animals, you name it!! Cool as a stand alone or a supplement to the Barefoot Books World Atlas. My daughter has a number of Barefoot Books as well, & as we read their stories from around the world, she always wants to know more about the particular country from which the story hails. A great interactive app to get kids excited about the world around them, enhance their geography lessons in a fun way or just explore. A fun refresher for adults too - including landmarks, animals & other important features of countries & continents. You could spend weeks exploring this app & still find something new. Plus you have the option of narrated descriptions, so great for a wide range of ages. Great animation plus beautiful hand painted features, much like the fab illustrations in the book itself. Check out the Barefoot Books site to see for yourself!!

Read-aloud has disappeared. I purchased Barefoot World Atlas years ago for my older boys. Now my younger ones are using it. With the latest update (4.*), though, the read-aloud option has disappeared to make the file size smaller. Unfortunately, the download or streaming options of clicking on the circle doesn’t work very well. Same for the pictures that are supposed to load. Please make a settings option to download all sound files and pictures at one time for people with poor internet.

Data Checking Needed. Sorry folks, I know it’s a freebie pack, but when I find glaring mistakes in the first couple seconds of trialing an app, I’m definitely not going to pay money for it. For an educational tool, it pays to be accurate for our kids... So, since I’m not from Texas, I tried to first zoom to home via the regions sub-set (North America) and meander north to Minnesota. No landmarks to speak of (Grain elevator!? Ok, fine, Cargil and General Mills are our handy work...), but the state abbreviation is wrong (Minnesota is MN, not MI) so when I’m swiped over to Michigan, whose abbreviation is MI, they don’t even get abbreviations. I’m not the most worldly guy around, but before knowing where Salvador or Eritrea are, how about I have the ability to at least point to my home state with a little detail first? It should be an easy win... I hope the depth of the rest of the app is better, I’d hope so for such a huge install, but for now, I’m going to pass.

Great app and now glitches!. Now glitches on ipad 6 and a GRATE APP!

A work of art!. This atlas is more than an app — it’s a work of art! All of the maps and icons are hand-painted. You just don’t see that kind of attention to detail in many apps. This app has been a family favorite for years.

Update actually won't download. Every time I try to update the app, the update either goes very slowly or it just doesn't work. Either way, it never fully updates. It just won't download. But from what I've seen from the other reviews, maybe I don't want the update. Don't misunderstand! I love the app! But time to go back to the drawing board before moving on.

Clumsy, mildly informative, and large. Like the title says. The interface is clumsy, the icons are not very clear and you've got me as to what the difference between region and area are. They select the same thing and give the same information. By mildly informative, I mean what you see is it. Is not like you can select an area and learn the Capitol city, statistics and history, or things to do in that area. For example, if you click Washington all you get is a blurb about totem poles. Cool, but the entire northwest is not a reservation. It would be so much more worth it if it showed key cities (with info on each and things to do within them), washingtons history, statistics on things such as population, elevation, average income, average weather, hottest months, coldest months, ethnicity percentages, etc. People use atlases to learn about areas. I know what a kangaroo is and I know that it's in Australia. Google can tell me all I need to know about it. What makes you better than google, Barefoot? And large? The program is bloated as heck, concerning size. Over a gig for what? It's intuitive that you can turn the globe and click, but I really don't see what all the hype is about. This concept is old, and done way better by google. As a whole this app is barely 1 star. It's not terribly informative, nor is it graphically stunning. The engine to run it must be old, because I don't see where a gig of space went. Certainly not on educational information.

Very poor presentation. I purchased this app for my 5-year old daughter. It was based on the sales pitch it has in the summary. 4 million downloads and and top 10 App Store pick! Now my impression after spending 20 minutes with this is - really? I want to jump straight to what's wrong here but first let me point out what's working. The globe is the best idea of this app. Very smooth transition for what could have been complicated multi-level menus. This is ideal for exploration. Sadly, the good part ends right there. The music is so boring and so is the announcer's voice. Switching between packs should not be required, but it would be ok if the navigation between the packs was half as intuitive as moving around the globe. However, it appears that the app was not built with expansion packs in mind, perhaps implemented as an afterthought. The app freezes while switching packs without any feedback on whether the selection was successful. I would not recommend this app for children until it's more engaging. It has the potential to be a very useful tool for young children, but it's not there yet.

No sound?. My 14 year old son so enjoyed this app 10 years ago. He absolutely loved the music and narration! Now my 5 year old would love to try it but there is no sound- have tried uninstalling it several times but nothing works- how do I get sound to work?

Gripping and fun, if flawed. While I agree with other reviewers that this app could use more info (and, in some places, accurate info), it still gets 5 stars from me, for the sheer joy of navigating the globe. I guess it makes sense that this is for kids, but I honestly didn't even know that earlier today when I spent two hours soaking it all up. I love the interaction, the music, the voice overs. I giggled like a schoolgirl when I first tapped the little camera and was shown a real photo. I know, easy to please. I'm also already a big fan of history and anthropology, so this was a bit of a "kid in a candy store" experience. A treasure chest. I hope the creators will continue to add more, and correct the mistakes that have got folks up in arms. Brilliant app. I hope that by the time I do have kids, this will be rich and accurate and fully developed.

Fun, Interactive App!. I tried this out myself before letting my 9 yr old use it. I love the rich colors and the landmarks! The dimensional landmarks help to learn the regions/countries. When you double tap on a landmark, it gives the name of what you are looking at and has the option of hearing the description instead of reading it (great for young children!) The Barefoot World Atlas is an App that will appeal to all ages (yes, even adults.). It has many layers of learning which will keep you entertained for a long time. This app is great for visual learners and those with special needs. The only downside (for me) is that the British accent doesn't always pronounce things the way we do in my region. I also wish it had a landmark for MA/RI. I can definitely recommend this app!

Amazing Fun App!. I love this app! It's filled with beautiful with a hand drawn charm to all the animated art in it. It has a lot of fun facts and quirkiness to it that kids would love. I don't understand why people are complaining here but I had no issues loading this on my iPhone 6S or iPad Air. People ranting about space, really? Get a life. The high resolution animated art and other aspects of the design require it. I think people complain too much and don't appreciate things. I've used this app for a couple years and it never gets old just for fun and can't wait to introduce my daughter to it :)

Gorgeous and engaging. The artwork is stunning and the information in this app is presented sensitively and with such depth. Highly recommend 😊

Iran has lots of more great places but you didn’t add. It’s ridiculous that you add only one mosque and two mountains of Iran. Iran has lots and lots of cool places that you did NOT add. Places like Persepolis, sarv-e abarkuh tree, Milad Tower and many tombs of our myth like tomb of hafez and ferdoosi. Education has nothing to do with US laws for sanctions. Show the world the beauty of our IRAN.

Great way to keep little globetrotters engaged. I’d downloaded this app a few years ago, before my kids were actually old enough to use it. With them now home for the rest of the school year, we revisited and discovered the upgrade! Especially love the quizzes and global art parts. The kids like spinning the globe! With both illustrations and photographs, this app is an entertaining way to learn about our world that appeals to both my 6 and 9 year-old.

Wow. I’m a 10 year old girl who has always been interested in facts. This app is great and I love the animation. I have gotten all the packs and I’ve never regretted it. This app is like a textbook that kids will get excited about. Pls just get the app!

So much fun!. This is much better than the previous version. My nephew and I love taking a peek at all the fun places. The quizzes are fun for adults too!

Glitches in this app that make it frustrating. The quiz feature has multiple glitches. Certain states won’t accept their matching flag and the only way to fix it is to exit the quiz and start all over again. It’s frustrating for me as an adult so I can’t imagine my kid finding it a fun learning experience. Also on some of the historic narratives some names are mispronounced. I think they could have done a better job on quality control before rolling this app out.

Disappointed. Missing sooooo many images/videos, would be great to have multiple images about each country/ state.

This app is fun but very glitchy. My Grandpa seent this app 2 me bc I was kinda into georgraphy at the time and so we luckily didn't need 2 pay. I played it for almost 2 years and really enjoyed all the features and icons. Then I kinda got sick of it and didn't get back into it for a while. Then when I started playing it again, I found it wasn't the same as before. It was exactly the same, but every 30 seconds it crashed. I don't know what caused this issue, just because I hadn't played it for a long time, but I'm sure that wasn't the problem. They probably updated it and it made it glitchy, unless I was just out of space or somepthing. Great job overall... but pls fix the bug.

Wrong info, very vague, terrible app!. I downloaded this app recommended by apple in their 5 years anniversary. I must say it's a terrible app. The information is very general, I expected something more since it was featured by apple and took more than 24 hrs to download. They have their own concept of the world, they separated Mexico from North America and now Mexico has its own continent within the Caribbean and Central America. Mexico is NORTH AMERICA! Also a lot of countries are so rich in culture, history and natural resources that kids and grown ups can learn so much from it but this is definitely not the app to do so, half of Europe is empty, most countries in south and Central America, also according to this app life in the Caribbean doesn't exist, in Portugal they only thing there is are kids playing soccer and in Hawaii surfers. You don't want your kids having such a narrow and wrong concept about the world and the beautiful countries and their REAL information. So not even for entertainment purposes! You don't want children to start judging the world like we do. Our next generation o children need to be above and beyond our knowledge and education therefore this is not the app we want for future generations to grow up with.

Geography teacher. I'm a middle school geography teacher and I am so excited about this app! Finally, an app that is more than just a game involving memorizing countries and capital city locations! I disagree with another reviewer that said to link it to Wikipedia - please don't!!!I love the fact that it doesn't because Wikipedia tends to give too much information that 10-11 year old kids won't fully read or understand. Some other apps do this and from my experience, it's not kid friendly! I love the short, concise paragraphs that give a snapshot of something related to the culture! Having the option to have it read aloud is perfect for struggling readers! I love this!!! My only wish would be that you could click on the physical features, too, and learn about those, as well. I see many of the mountains, rivers, etc. labeled on the map but you can't click on them. If this were added, this app would be AMAZING!!!

Interactive, educational, colorful. The title says it all. I love this app for little ones. They love moving the globe around with their fingers. The sound effects are adorable. This is a great introduction to the world around us. I recommend this app for anyone with children.

Works beautifully. And now the expansion packs are all included. Great app after bugs were addressed. Very enjoyable and butter smooth on iPad Pro. Thank you!

You say ‘Best wishes for the Barefoot Team’, right?. You can tap on the picture. But you see the “Switch Label” button as well, it actually does nothing. It crashes every time. Sometimes glitchy. I completed the app so i dont need it anymore. I was gonna do something again but when i tried it crashed maybe its because i used a bit more than i should, they coulda updated it to kinda glitchy and stuff like that. I like the game is fun, but plz fix the bug. XX NO ADS XX.

this app is the best. when I was 5 or so, my grandma got me this app and I fell in love with it, now being ten, I love this app still, and this app helped me understand and geography, and I recommend it, thanks to the app, I know countries and capitals like they’re on the back of my hand.

Worse than useless. I downloaded this app on my wife's recommendation. I'd expected something rather more sophisticated and educational given how intelligent and literate have been all the Barefoot books we've read. What you get is a rather crude and basic representation of the globe, with some animated figures and background music. At a guess, at least 80% of the identifiable figures are men. It's a man's world, I suppose. The population of Ethiopia is represented by a black man brandishing a spear. You'd never know that Addis Ababa was a bustling city bristling with skyscrapers. New Zealand has a man in a loincloth doing a native dance. You learn about Scotland that it rains a lot. That's it for Scotland — a small country to be sure, but one with many thousands of years of history and amazing contributions to world history. We learn of Iran that the Islamic Revolution liberated women! The entire world is treated in this haphazard and random way. What a bizarre, lopsided view of the world children would get from this app! This is worse than uneducational; it reinforces gender and racial (even racist) stereotypes. I found the whole experience of trying out this to be depressing and distasteful, and under no circumstances would I let my children near it. Any children's atlas in traditional book format would be preferable to this ... thing. It also took forever to download. Goodness knows how much space it must be taking up.

Quiz feature doesn’t work. The drag and drop feature not working for the North America quiz so there’s no way to finish the quiz. I’ve never experienced such a fail in an app. Wondering if I can get a refund.

Amazing content and great puzzles!. This app is amazing. The spinning globe is so fun to explore, the illustrations are gorgeous, the content is really interesting and informative, and the games are actually really fun! My favorite is the game where you have to match the flags to the country shapes. Literally entertained me for a full hour on a flight once. Great app! Highly recommend.

Useless. Go and get your self a wikipedia app at least you will learn something there.

Needs to be updated. The flags have changed since this app came out, they should also include some new wars and update some of the flags.

Does not work with iPhone X Screen. App has not be updated for the iPhone X screen.

Great App. Love this app. After a semi-recent issue, updates fixed this app and restored it to its former glory. Love how interactive, simple, and fun it is to learn. Great for all ages.

Great app spoiled by factual errors and odd choices. The app has a great design and is fun to use to get the kids interested in geography and world culture. But after finding several errors within minutes, I’m not sure how reliable the rest of information is. For example, Latvia’s currency is not Lat, it’s EUR since 2014, and Lithuania borders KalinINgrad Oblast, not Kalingrad. The old currency is listed as well. I’ve checked only a few European countries so far and am not sure the choice of highlights make sense. E.g. for Spain it shows Tower of La Giralda as a landmark. Why not Alhambra? It’s a world wonder even in Civilization. Not sure what was the train of thought behind some choices. The quizzes are also disappointing: it’s a choice between matching the flag and matching the shape. I have trouble having the kid to remember the capital cities (much more important information) and there seems to be no quiz for that. A lot of unrealized potential in this app.

Fantastic puzzles and quizzes!. Love this app! So much amazing content to keep kids occupied and engaged at a time when we really need this. The match the flag quizzes and art puzzles are informative and challenging!

Inaccurate information for young minds.. Starts out being fun and colorful for kids, but they soon question what they are seeing. We wrote in the past, pointing out a small truth. Cook Island dancers are NOT Tahitian dancers. They are Cook Islands dancers. Tahitian dancers are from Tahiti in French Polynesia, NOT the Cook Islands. We did receive a reply that this could be updated in a future app update. It wasn’t and the kids still aren’t happy. “If this is wrong what else is wrong.”

fun facts and so beautiful. i really enjoy the art of this app. there’s lots of globe apps but the illustrations set this one apart. the facts are also so much more globally orientated than others that are only about US or Europe and whatnot.

A cut above. Great educational app for both kids and adults! The art is beautiful and it offers unusual and interesting facts.

Taiwan!!. Really happy your atlas respects Taiwan as a country.

App. Awsome app

Cool but annoying. Great app but keeps closing after a few moments of use. Hope this is fixed in an update!

Was much loved but now has bugs?. This was my step-daughter's favourite app, but just today the app has started to crash within a few minutes of being opened.

Not bad. My 5 year old daughter with mild autism loves countries, flags, capitals etc, so she enjoys this app. If you're looking for a comprehensive atlas, this is not the app for you. If you're looking for an interactive tool for kids to learn more about the world, this could fit the bill. It's easy to navigate and once a child is shown what each symbol represents, it's easy for them to investigate more by themselves. Good value when compared to anything similar available in print. Has some big holes (excuse the pun), e.g. No grand canyon. Beware the HUGE download size.

Limited for price. Has music and zooms around to different pictures with basic info. May catch the attention of younger kids for a limited time. Not worth the money or the large GB.

Awesome fun learning app. Yes this app is intended for kids but as an adult I think it's awesome! I've learnt things from it and it's a fun way to get around the globe! Well worth the money

Confused. I don't know how to use this can some one please explain what to do once I enter the app

Innacurate facts. I was given this app, but if I'd paid for it, I'd want my money back. Within minutes of downloading the app I noticed a number of incorrect facts. For example, what is the largest island in the world? If you'd said Australia, you'd be right, but if you believed Barefoot atlas, you'd think it was Greenland - an island that is 1/6th the size of Australia. Worse, the facts in the starter pack are vary sparse and any additional facts or puzzles require additional purchases.

Such a small amount of info for a huge app. Very disappointed with the amount of detail in this app, for over 1 gig I expect a lot more. Surely you could have added states and cities in Australia, looks like a very rushed app. I mean you can't even zoom in without changing the viewing plane.

Disappointed. Taiwan and acknowledgement of South Sudanese independence in 2011 but not even a mention of Palestine? How curious.

YAAAAY. ITS SO GUD YEEEEEEEEEEEE

lite version. nice app but after paying a fair bit for this app, developers started turning this full version into a lite version now asking for more money as they add content. i won’t pay anymore for this. I paid for the atlas in full, not half an atlas some six months later.

clunky rubbish. sucked up lots of space. makes microsoft's magic school bus look good! i deleted it after 2 nauseating minutes and now it keeps trying to reinstall - is this malware for iOS?

Frustrating. Bad app.

Kept the interest of my child. It is a good simple atlas

Primetime192. What a waste iPad memory. My 5 year old was board of the basic information in 10 mins. Very disappointing!! Waste of money.

Disappointing. Some places have some very strange items as examples of the country. Some countries have very little of interest to view. India for example, has LOTS AND LOTS of things that could have been shown. And Australia (my home) has hardly anything to show! I think this app needs lots of work. Has potential, but not there yet.

Good for pre-school and early primary. A nice app for exploration by pre-school and early primary students as it doesn't require much reading. There is a nice variety of things, and less common things mentioned for my country (Australia) but I did feel like some really essential and important landmarks around the globe were missing. Overall, a great app but a little over priced.

Barefoot World Atlas. Disappointed. Expected a lot more from this app when I saw the rating and read the web site. App very prescriptive and limited information for cost and size of app.

Good. Good

Mmmm a gig - needs more. I downloaded this and thought for a gig it would be awesome - sadly mistaken. The features are very basic and really does not give satisfactory information. I don't even think I would let my child in primary school use it as it doesn't really say much. Please fix it up and make it a true atlas with information. A great idea but lacks so much..... :-(

Not worth 1.13GB of data. Very shallow information for such a size app....not worth it.

Fantastic app👍👍👍👍. What a fantastic app I have no idea why people say that this app is boring but I don't think that this is boring and it is well worth the money and the massive 1.45. OKAY the app crashes. And what a beautiful app they made keep up the good work🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Educational & Fun!. A fantastic app that is well worth the money for anyone with young kids or someone just interested in learning fun facts about the world. Easy to use, the artwork / graphics are amazing. It'd be a great help for school projects or just for inspiring learning in inquisitive young minds. Would be good to see updates to increase places of interest, more information on the countries and possibly adding more detail into the map in terms of states / regions within countries. Well done guys!

Needs Work. Great idea for an application and style, however lacks correct information. For example the super pit and gold mining for Kalgoorlie in Australia is not in the correct position on the map.

Good. The music is super annoying is there a way of turning it off?

Add more places. We need more on Australia

Update size is ridiculous. My grandson loves this app but when updates require over a gig each time I cannot always update as I don't have that much download time to waste. Surely you developers should have figured out by now how to make the updates smaller. I don't have this problem with other more complex apps that are just as big when first purchased. I should not need to download a whole new app every time. It is in danger of being deleted permanently from my device. . Because of this the number of stars goes from 4 to 2!

Pathetic. Pathetic app, DO NOT DOWNLOAD, waste of space, would be good for 2 year olds.

Not worth the $$$. I downloaded this for my kids, thinking that it would be fantastic, but there is hardly anything on it. Just facts and no interaction!! I would never have paid this much for an app that does so little. Save your money as there is many other apps out there for kids with so much more information and interaction. It also uses a massive 1.6GB- But with nothing to show! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Amazing. Such a great app. Really wish there were more features though.

Great idea. Ned more features. A great idea, but could be improved heaps, with more child appropriate pictures. More animals and people and less obscure buildings and subjects. Australia's pictures are sparse and some countries have no pictures at all.

Beautifully illustrated and super intuitive. An awesome kids app for learning all about the world we live in. Recommended!

M-Kiwi. New Zealand's indigenous musical instruments do NOT include the didgeridoo - that's Australia across the ditch. Fail. Delete.

Accuracy. Tatamailau is not in East Timor but Indonesia. Your application gives wrong information about East Timor highest point. Not accurate!

Random curiosity only. Soooo disappointed to find my beloved country so badly portrayed. Can only think that other nations are also suffering. Random looks stour globe by very young children only- and hope they don't remember any of it in a geography exam. Beautiful illustrations but not factually relevant.

Thinks New Zealand has Australian sounds. Fun app needs a bit more accuracy in facts

Shocking. What a waste of money. Basic information lacking integrity An atlas that lacks information for its showpieces. Insulting to indigenous races showing stereotypical representations that are considered offensive in the home country. Very disappointing.

Complete waste of space. The developers of this "atlas" have invested heavily in style and not a bit in substance. It looks pretty (for the two minutes it takes to get bored with it), but has very little content. What skeletal content it has is dull, unbelievably brief (a couple of sentences on a topic with one nice photo that you have to open separately), and highly jingoistic and stereotyped. Goodness knows how they even decided on some of the peculiar subjects covered at the expense of actual contemporary and relevant alternatives. Save yourself a gigabyte of RAM...avoid this app.

Good for the right age groups. It ain't Wikipedia, and it could use more of a guided tour, but there's lots of good detail here still.

Colourful interactive but not much of an atlas. Cities would be nice. You won't learn much except for the somewhat inaccurate snippets provided.

Not really well done at all.... Visually well done, but inaccurate as old heck... Not worth your time...

Kids like it.. Update: problem fixed. Kids have loads of fun wth this app. It's kinda big, and the research is iffy at best, but no worse than most things targeted at this age group. Withdrawn: Unable to download since new update. As of 2016/08/30, this app can't be used. Used to be a fun app for the kids. Once it is usable again, will update to the 4 stars it otherwise deserves.

Mr. I had high hopes for this with the price. What a disappointment! Graphics are sad and information scant. Kids using iPads expect more.

DL, lol, delete. Download this app for a good laugh. If your Canadian click the hockey player and laugh out loud. Then promptly delete it.

Atlas. Très amusant! :)

Cool. The figures and characters are cute it helps my friend who's 4 she loves the app it's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):)

Well.... I should have reconsidered again before I had clicked the purchase button.

Great exploration app - confirmed by 5 year old. I really wanted something more redeeming than slinging birds when travelling this summer, so this app seemed to fit the criteria being a combination of travelling, exploration, and education. My 5 year old son understood how to use this right away - pinch to zoom, swipe to move, tap to view. He really liked the animations. While the descriptions are short, this encouraged my son ended up asking a lot of questions like "Why are there so many locusts?". I think the short descriptions are great since attentionspans aren't always the greatest. However, I do wish for an option to have more detailed descriptions. My 3 year old daughter just wanted to see things move and wasn't too insterested in the information. Which was fine since she was still getting a sense of how big the world is and the different things in it. The 1.5GB download was actually great since I was travelling with the kids. I didn't want to have to pay roaming fees. For the price for a 1.5GB app, that's pretty good value I think. Overall, a great app for kids if you can get over the hefty download and the slightly higher price. I personally think it's great and worth the money and entertainment / education it has provided. Some bugs: - Animations don't always expand when an item is tapped. - Narrations don't always play when item is expanded forcing you to press the "+" key to hear it (okay if your child has the dexterity, frustrating when they don't) Some suggestions for improvement: 1. Ability to hide capital cities - there are no animations or narrations for these items and my kids aren't interested in them. When they click on one by accident they go "uh-oh!" like they did a mistake. 2. Descriptions of items should also have links to Wikipedia or some other service so you can get additional information. 3. Some of the photos can be improved, or multiple photos be shown. Perhaps link to Flickr images or some other service would help a lot. Ability to zoom in a photo / higher resolution images are desperately needed since kids want to see details. 4. Offline / Download-on-demand option - give the user the option to download all 1.5GB from inside the app, or deliver content over the Internet as needed (bandwidth isn't free, so a proper funding model needs to be in place).

Factually Incorrect. Contains obvious errors, such as Hockey being the national sport of Canada. It's not. Lacrosse is. Plus Britain and Ireland contain as many entries as the rest of the EU, minus France, Spain and Italy, combined. Where they had a "highland boy" and some statue erected in 1998 as entries in the UK, Germany's only entry was the Brandenburg Gate, which was accompanied by foreboding music.

Eh. Really not that detailed for an 'atlas,' besides the awful job done at checking facts. The 'elk' found in Canada is most definitely a moose, both by picture and icon. Either change the name or change the picture.

Inaccurate. Interesting and friendly but when it proclaimed the moose was an elk, it cast all its information in doubt.

Lol. The elk in Canada is actually a moose

Impossible d'utiliser l'application. Rien à faire l'application arrête une fois arrivé sur l'image de la terre. Impossible à d'évaluer. 4.99$ de perdu.

Engaging but inaccurate. The elk label is attached to a picture of a moose. The app said that elk are known as moose - they are totally different animals and look quite different.

Love it. My kids love this app and go to it often.

Great music. Should have a soundtrack too.

No sound at all!. I tried to redownload this app twice and tested on different iPhones, it still does have sound. Really want to fix this problem. Thanks

Not that accurate. Lots of cool features but.....where is the Canadian Parliament building in Ottawa? Canada's national capital???

Disappointed. Awful. Pushes purchases practically on every screen.

Not worth it. To be fair, I only checked out my own country (Canada). But, it was very stereotypical and had some errors. So, I wouldn't trust the info for a country I do not know. For example, half the entry on hockey talks about picks being dangerous to spectators; I've never seen that happen. I'm sure it does, but its minor. Also, the RCMP do still use horses for patrol, as do many police forces in cities around the world. Take a pass on this app.

lovely for kids. the positive: it is a very well designed interactive globe. i imagine the 3D must also be fun for kids. (it is most definitely for kids) the negative: the information is spare (some say there are inaccuracies) and i think some landmarks are missed (definitely in the small countries as there is no space for it). technically-speaking, it still uses 1.2 GB of storage. i don't have storage issues, but since i also don't have kids, i'll be deleting it. (though to their credit, the present version is an improvement on the previous one at 2 GB)

Do not buy. Takes up 1.5 gigs. All the content you get for a country like Romania, is a deer and Bran castle. Each has one or two brief sentences about it. Can't change the units from imperial to metrics. Couple of things about each country, that's all. A have a children's map of the world with more content. Oh well, now there's a review. Why 0 stars is not a valid rating?

Impossible to download packs. I cannot download the packs it won't allow.

Nice idea. The idea of this app is a good one. The information wasn't accurate on some things. I was disappointed as well because I would have expected more facts. For example Hawaii doesn't even mention volcanoes??? Portugal only mentions soccer?? I wouldn't recommend this app unless they change it a lot. Aren't elk and moose two different animals?

Mr. It's great but why does it keep exiting

Gé-ni-al!!!!!. ^^

Could have many more features!!!. I was expecting much more from this app. At least capital cities should be displayed, more mountains named, more children friendly info about each country, individual states in US, provinces in Canada named, Florida peninsula named. Why would you put a paddle steam boat from Switzerland in New Orleans, I don't understand, they probably do not have one in the States???!!!, option of temperature in Celsius and distance in kilometers, national anthems just to name few. Hard to navigate, it jumps from one "information" to completely different one elsewhere, etc. Please get an inspiration from other children atlases ie. DK First Atlas, or the children's Oregon Smart Globe. Why does it take 1.7 gigabytes of space of the iPad, with such a little info? Not worth the money at all.......I am really disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And deleting it from my iPad....Make a major improvements immediately. It is a one star only!!!!!!!!!!!!

Proud Canadian. Says ice hockey is Canada's national sport when in fact it is lacrosse.

Fun to work. My previous review was a mistake . Persian gulf is there :) thanks

Amazing!. This app is an extremely useful tool.

Love this app!. I use this app in my kindergarten classroom, and we just love it! It's not meant to be exhaustive, but it is a wonderful overview with a lot of interesting highlights. Excellent for understanding our world in general. I can hardly wait to see the references to the beautiful country of Canada become more developed in this app!

Yikes. Looking at all the reviews, it looks like I'm the only one who couldn't figure out how to get to an actual article (could move to next/prev country, could zoom, and drag the globe, but touching an illustration or country did nothing but bring up the place name. Touching the place name did nothing) . I feel…inadequate, and so in frustration I give this app… one star.

Too bad. The app is so big, it's slow and cumbersome and the information is ridiculously skimpy and stupid. Too bad, it could have been a great app.

Do not purchase!. I downloaded this app... Which is 1.5 gigs ! For this price and size was really hoping for something better! Very disappointing! Deleted it right away. Waste of $5!!

Pretty app with nice pop up info, but the globe is inaccurate. It's app is quite nice and I like the popup facts, but the atlas itself is very comical, lacks detail and is quite inaccurate.

Very solid and good educational value. This app is great. Not sure about those other negative reviews. The interface is easy to use. The conversations that have occurred as my two and four year old kids explore the globe have been meaningful. They love the exploratory nature of the app, and switching from audio information, to the actual photograph, back to the animated atlas view. As an educator myself, I'm pleased and impressed with how this atlas hooks the learner and provides differentiated content to address multiple intelligences. Explore for twenty minutes a week with your child and you'll be amazed at what they'll retain about this wonderful world of ours. We recently 'invested' in two expansion packs - North America and World Art. Both are good as these were two areas that my kids wanted more info on, but I hold back a star only because I would like to be able to synch the expansion packs with the standard atlas so all the info could be accessed from the same source. I recognize that this would make the globe extremely cluttered - all those state and provincial flags on their own add a lot - and might make the interface more cumbersome, but it might be cool too!

Inaccurate. As others have pointed out, there is much mislabeling on the "atlas". Prince Edward Island, in Canada, is not in the middle of the Gulf of St Lawrence. It's the small island near the New Brunswick and Nova Scotia coast.

Beau visuel cependant.

SI - Metric System. Surely, you could have a setting for changing to metric. Otherwise, nice app.

Very informative.. Great for kids and adults. A lot of work went into this. Good music, very colourful, and easy to understand.

Needs more info and less space and faster download. Like I said in the title It took way to long to download I left it for about a half hour to download and wen I came back nothing and 1.5 GIGS not worth it and three when it finally downloaded I checked my country first and about half of it I knew for sure was fake and it doesn't give much information WATE OF TIME

Bad Bad Bad - no celebration. Apple - pls FIX these celebration apps before promoting them !

Poor. Have been looking at this app for awhile but was reluctant to put out the money (so many apps are such a rip off). I was excited to see if offered as a gift to give to my children. Now I am sorry I took the time and space to download. Corny, stereotyping and boring. Didnt bother to show my kids...they are too smart for this. Won't waste another second even reviewing it.

Great. Amazing

O.k.. Not so much what i had in mind, very limited.

Pretty weak. no drill down details on the country. kids are not interested in how many cars per capital or emissions per capita. could be way better. no worth the price….

World Atlas, A Great Success. Loving this new app! My son couldn't put it down for an hour and considering this app is a fountain of useful information, I really didn't mind. User friendly, and easy for children to learn some educational, fun, and interesting facts without overwhelming them.Love the fun colourful graphics and the music! I would highly recommend this app! Way to go Barefoot Books!

Awesome app. This is an amazing app, it's such a pleasure to use. For teenagers or even adults, it'll be really nice to have more information about the locations, for example by integrating Wikipedia articles directly into the app. But other than that the interactivity and content is absolutely perfect!

INCLUDE PUERTO RICO in this App. Puerto Rico TRUE that POLITICLY it is a USA territory, but PUERTO RICO is: an Island in the Atlantic Ocean with the Caribbean Sea to the South. Has produce more Miss Universes beautiful women than any other country in the world. Lots of champion boxers. Lots of Mayor League Baseball players. Countless Military heroes that fought in EVERY USA war. It has one of a few phosphorescent beaches in the planet. One of the biggest cavern systems is the world. The biggest radio telescope is there. The deepest Atlantic Ocean trench is to the North of the Island. It's one of the most populated in the world per square mile. It has one of the biggest spaniard constructed forts in the New World. It has all of that and more and it doesn't have a place in this app? Are you all ignoramus or it was just a slippage? I hope it is put in the next update!!! THANK YOU !!!

Worth the wait!. This app took a while to download on the iPad 1, but was worth the wait. Sound, picture quality, etc. works fine on my iPad, no issues at all. I've shown the app to men, women, and children of all ages and everyone is blown away by it. We've spent hours using it so far and there is still so much to explore. I'm really looking forward to seeing what features and upgrades come next as I think there are just endless possibilities. Overall I highly recommend this App and this is coming from someone who rarely uses Apps!

Incredible. This is the kind of stuff I love and enjoy looking at. It's incredible how interactive it is and the pictures and illustrations are beautiful. The app store needs many more apps like this; interactive, very fun and enjoyable, and not too expensive.

Sound disappeared. The application looks fine. It has sound just when you launch it. The problem is when you want to hear the story, the sound disappears. Hope it will be fixed in a newer versions. Was surprised that nobody mentioned this problem in other reviews.

Great App for School Age Children. This is a great app for school age children. My 10 year old son loved it. The first time he used it he spent almost an hour just exploring. The graphics are stunning and the information is wonderful. In particular I like the actual photographs on the site. Definitely a lot of bang for your buck.

For an adult?. I am an adult. I'll want to see how my 8yr old grandson relates to it, but for me, I found it to be frustrating for the spotty coverage of specific countries and seemingly random choice of information bits. Obviously, there is a near infinity of information that could be presented. Also, the maps lack much detail. There is so much that could be done with an app like this, as a front end to an encyclopedia geared toward kids. But for educational purposes, the coverage is too spotty.

Alot of bad reviews but i love app. I like this app alot! Very bright and colorful. Basic info about countries. Nothing you can write a report about but gives basic info about countries. Basic outline of their overall area. I think its great for young children.

Cool educational app, but takes up too much storage. Here's what I think of the app: (1) People keep saying Puerto Rico (which is a province of the U.S.A.) got left out. It didn't! It's to the east of Cuba! (2) The country Myanmar is written as Burma, the old name, and Rangoon, the capital, is supposedly Naypyidaw. (3) Finally an atlas that actually lists Kosovo as a country! It's not part of Serbia anymore! (4) I am 90% sure that Greenland belongs to Denmark. (5) There could have been a little more info on the countries themselves. But I did learn a lot. (6) I had to delete like 10 apps to download this. Takes up way to much space!

Lacking & Wanting. This app is a Fantastic idea which has not found reality! Execution was poor, research was minimal, and unless the creators are planing on dealing with a tremendous amount of hate mail from assorted ethnic groups...I would suggest fast and consistent updates!!! I picked one obscure locale...Alaska. You had I think 5 items associated and really only 4 were Alaskan. And one of those was a terrible accident which doesn't seem to fit the theme at all=\ So, 4 things for a place like Alaska. Are u kidding me? What would you have come up with for the Galapagos, 2 or 3??

Great… But not perfect.... Great app, but sadly not perfect. It has too many little bugs like the fact that to select a country or feature you have to tap the display several times to get it right. Shows very little detail abut each country and I think you guys should add more countries, islands and locations like Puerto Rico and a more detailed view on the Caribbean, add more features to existing countries, like adding individualized state descriptions in the US and more information on Europe and Africa, like adding more info to Spain. Another thing to take in consideration is the fact that not all countries have the same metric, distance, temperature, weight and height system, at least put an option in settings to turn this on. For a 1GB app, I expected a lot more.

I expected more for $7.99. It's a good start but I expect a lot more for $7.99. Each country should have more information including language(s) and current political leader(s). There needs to be more major cities and points of interests listed as well. It would be nice to change the units (i.e. temperature F to C) as others have mentioned.

No Sound Without Earbuds. I wanted to order this software for my niece, so decided to try it out myself before ordering. Like other reviewers, I noted the long download time and large footprint. However, it features excellent graphics and short, concise explanations geared toward children 7-12 years of age. I'm more than a little disappointed that there is no sound or music with the app until you use your earbuds. Why on earth are we required to use earbuds to hear the soundtrack? Makes no sense, and prevented the app from getting a better rating.

Good app for kids, sounds even when on vibrate. It's a great app, meant for kids but fun for adults too. My biggest complaint is that by default, the sounds and music are enabled and play even if the phone is on vibrate or silent. The first time I loaded this up, my sleeping husband was not pleased! Easy enough to disable, but that shouldn't be necessary.

Little content, takes up too much RAM, has potential. I like the 3-d globe for getting around-- well done, attractive. The app, however, has no preferences and the background music is irritating. Others may like it. There should be a way of turning it off. As others have pointed out, there's too little information and the app eats up too much storage space on the iPad!! I have astronomy programs with photos of the major objects in the sky, tens of thousands of stars and objects, gobs of detailed information on many, that take up 1/2 or 1/3 the room! This eats up 1.2 GB--that's gigabytes!! If this came anywhere near to having the type, depth, and extent of information and data that the real World Almanac has, it would be well worth that trade-off. Maybe the developers should contact the Almanac folks and combine their globe interface with the WA's content--along with some timelines. Then, we'd have something. Given how much space it takes up, I've had to delete it!

Enjoyable & Educational. Very easy to use. Our four-year old can use this, and never seems to get tired of it. He enjoys browsing the globe and finding new things. In fact, today he said, "Mom, this is Route 66 in Texas!" The pictures and audio are excellent and appropriate for all ages. I like the fact that all data is loaded onto the iPad, and a connection is not required to browse. We look forward to future apps from this developer. Well worth the cost.

This app has gone from best to worst. My sons used to love this app- as did I. But ever since the release of the expansion packs (one of which I foolishly purchased) this app crashes within 30 seconds of use- not the best experience for five year olds or their fathers. I'm writing this even AFTER the "bug fix" version was released. Please fix this app! Until a true fix is released, I would advise against purchasing- too much of a headache!

Fun app for kids, could use more content. I think this app is fun for kids to learn basic information about the world. It could use more content, especially considering how huge it is. This single app takes up much more storage space than any other app I have. I wish I could turn off the music. Even when my phone is set to silent the music still plays.

Students and I LOVE Barefoot Atlas. I just bought the USA in-app pack. I rarely purchase in-apps, but this app is definitely worth the price although higher than most. The support of the developers is also phenomenal. Had a question and got an answer in less than 24 hours!

Overdone, Oversized, Slow and Annoying. This application promised a new kind of "atlas" experience. It looks kind of cool when it is launched, but that's where the pleasure ends. It is SO SLOW and so confusing as an interface that not even an eager, young child would use it. This is a worthwhile idea (and fun, pleasant, artful atlas) but this effort is a big FAIL. Weighing in at over 1 Gigabyte, it is just too big and too confusing. The interface has no useful "help" or "getting started" clues; the interface flickers and glitches; and app just hangs and freezes. NOT USEFUL FOR EXPLORING FOR FUN.

Surprisingly Disappointed. I think I was expecting too much - at least more than a token amount of info about seemingly random states across the US, let alone across the rest of the world. I suppose we might be using it incorrectly, but I purchased this specifically to help my children with US geography information and it was not helpful at all. Florida only has a handful (if even) of informational tidbits. Texas had oil and one or two other things. No information on the states themselves, again, unless I just didn't see it. I didn't make it into other countries outside of Cuba, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, but these countries appear to have the same lack of depth as the US states have. For 5$ (and this was marked down from 8$) and 1.5gig I expect more information. This went from being an educational tool to a fun diversion tactic.

1.56 GB!. I'm looking forward to trying the app with my son, but it's taking a while to download on my 1.5Mb connection. I'm also wondering how long I can keep it on my iPad as it alone takes up a tenth of the space. I heard about he issues of graphics optimized for the retina display and this verifies the problem: apps are going to eat up space and bandwidth. At least I'm not downloading it on 3G where it would deplete my monthly allotment and take the rest of the month to download!

THIS app Is the VERY BEST!!!. I have decided this is the VERY BEST app available, and I own about 800 apps. I LOVE this app!!!!! It is very unique, makes learning a joy and is so much fun to use!!!! The Atlas Packs and Puzzles are AMAZING!!! GORGEOUS graphics too!!!! I will buy anything historical or geographical you develop. I hope you will develop a comparable app on American and world history. Also, I have other apps that crash, but this app has NEVER ever crashed. I also own Solar System which is equally FANTASTIC!!!

Nice app but the giant updates every month are a deal breaker. My son’s enjoyed this app for a while - and he loved the football pack when it came out. Unfortunately, I have to delete it from my phone and iPad and reinstall every time you update it - and you update it a lot. Especially annoying is the fact that each update seems to be only about selling a new add-on product. I think it’s time you read the instructions in the software developers’ kit about how to enable in-app purchases without forcing users to re-download a 1-GB+ app.

A beautiful atlas - interesting to kids. I looked at this with my 4 year old son and he wanted to click on everything and learn about what it said. I have the hardback version of this app, which is also beautiful, with lots of flaps to open and is a wonderful resource. I liked the addition of music that went with every region and the links to local time and temperature, so you can talk with your child about what it is like in another country or area of the world right now. My son immediately knew how it worked, but we often ended up at one of the Poles :) Fun & informative, thanks Barefoot!

Crashed and Burned Cannot remove. This version is unusable I have the most recent iOS and plenty if memory but the app constantly crashes in just the first few moments if use then it is frayed out and cannot be deleted from device. Have tried to open it won't open the only way to open is to come back here to the App Store and use the OPEN button. Very poor performance drive me to write this comment and give you a 1 star for app. I hope you can fix these issues soon. Thank you in advance.

Interesting and thorough content, but.... There is a lot of overlap in the audio in this app. At one point I was hearing three different distinct sounds happening at once; the music for the region on the globe, the audio for the item (car building somewhere in Asia), and the audio of the text describing or explaining the item. Much too much noise all at once - hard for me, as an adult to process, and certainly close to impossible for my child to process. This was happening throughout the app, not just this one incident. Very disappointing for an app I paid a good bit of money for. I have dozens of free informative, educational kid's apps that work wonderfully.

All 3 stars are for the art. Cons: 1.5GB of space for the basic atlas, in-app purchase would not install, customer service never responded, icons/layout (besides initial globe) aren’t intuitive, basic atlas for U.S. is so sparse without the in-app purchase (which didn’t install) Pros: Art is lovely, nice concept Result: Deleted the app; maybe re-install later after an update … but then again, 1.5 GB is a lot to use on 1 app.

Engaging App. This is a beautiful, fun and engaging app. We have the Barefoot Books Atlas and we were so excited to try this out, it did not disappoint. My 4 yr old son loves it and asks to play with it everyday. My 2 yr old can even navigate it with ease and he enjoys the spinning globe. They have learned so much from it already. The music is beautiful and I love how it changes with each region. I would recommend this to anyone with children eager to learn about the world.

So much information!. Beautiful images! There is a lot of great info in this app! I've already learned a lot about explorers and regions of the world that I didn't know about! My four year old loves the pictures and discovering the animals and landmarks around the world.

Good grade school 'globe'. This reminds me of the giant world atlas I had as a kid- I'd spend hours looking at that thing! This is good for kids probably in the kindergarten to fourth, maybe fifth grade range. It requires a good deal of dexterity to manipulate, which might be harder for younger children. The information isn't very in depth. It needs more pictures, videos, and longer articles. It provides a very brief introduction to each topic, it would be nice if it provided more complete information, more akin to an encyclopedia article. The audio narration is nice for younger kids who may not be reading fluently yet or may need help with longer words

App made with children in mind. This app takes children into account when it was developed. In the definition of the app it says "invites children to explore the regions and the countries of the world". With this in mind I agree with others that say it is written and a lot of it is childish. That means the authors were successful in the development of this app.

This is a great app!. I really love this app. I haven't tried, the new puzzle yet, looking forward, to doing so. I feel that, your taking the money valuation off, is a loss as kids need to know, all aspects of a country. So can you put it back on. Looking forward to that happening, thank you! Then I will call this a five star app.

Great first atlas. Fun to use and educational, it allows the child to feel like a real explorer. I hope that more will be added in the future. It would be wonderful to be able to zoom in more and find out more about a region. We live in New England which is not "on the map" - there's nothing to click on north of the Statue of Liberty. I also second the previous reviewer's wish that you could click on geographical features. I so hope that the publisher continues to update and expand this app, because it is what I've always wanted an atlas to be in terms of interface and ease of use for kids!

Very well made- needs tutorial. I downloaded this app. Then realized that I had to press various small buttons to start enjoying this app. Extremely well drawn, linked to actual pictures of the marvels and different little things and facts around the world. There is also a voice that can be activated to read over various texts. It deserves 5 stars but my first impression was a 3. So. Please add more facts elements, and make a tutorial!

An essential app!. Barefoot's World Atlas is a winner. Packed chock-full with timely information, this app presents geography in a new and highly appealing way. The opportunities to explore the world seem endless. The app is easy to navigate, and fun too. The graphics, the content, even the music, are outstanding. Highly recommend.

Entertaining and educational. This app is very entertaining while being ver educational. While I would love more features in the different countries, the ones that are present are a good mix of well known and popular sites with some new places and items that are usually overlooked.

Excellent educational tool. My 7 yr old has learned more geography than he would retain from a class. He enjoys just looking around the globe and discusses it often. The little details are wonderful, such as cultural music, current time and temps, etc. Would give it 5 stars if it had a little more information sites. Looks like updates are doing that.

Awesome app!!. Highly recommend this. This app is kind of pricey to me, and usually I wouldn't have purchased it but it just looked so cool so I gave it a try and I am absolutely in love with it. Splurge and buy it, you won't be sorry.

Absolutely amazing. I'm 25 years old and this app is nothing short of spectacular. It's stunning pictures and easy navigation makes learning so much fun. What makes it a great idea is its capability to excite the senses. I love to hear the native music as I scroll across the country or island. If I had a child, this would be the app of choice to educate them about the world in which we live. Superb app!

beautiful and educational. I would easily have been absorbed with this app for hours when I was a kid (or now for that matter!). Not overly structured… it’s something you can just get lost in like surfing Wikipedia, with one topic of interest leading seamlessly into the next. The landmarks and cultural details aren’t just the usual suspects either—I discovered Butter Week for the first time (where have you been all my life??) within the first 5 minutes of spinning around. Beautiful, inspired, educational, and most importantly, fun!

Good for what it is.... ...and what it is is one of those maps you made in the 6th grade with the names of countries and symbols for what they were famous for. You remember? The project where you ended up with glitter and glue on everything in the house? It's a very cute toy to play with, but unless you are under 12 or horribly ill informed, you will learn nothing. Another reviewer has suggested it has only the information you might find on a physical world globe. Not true. It has a tiny fraction of a world globe's information. For example, the United States is just one big glob. Not only does it have no cities, it doesn't even have states.

Great app. Very easy to use. Tons of great information. I like the music and how it changes with different regions. Has real pictures of the landmarks and some have a 360 degree view. There are also things in space that you can click on. You can move across the earth or you can toggle the buttons at the top for drop down lists with buttons for regions, countries or the specific landmark. You can also add landmarks to a favorites list.

Needs More Options!!. Why is Puerto Rico not an option to click on? I was reviewing this app with my 6yr. old daughter and she was really interested on learning about her Puerto Rican heritage, but when we searched for Puerto Rico, we weren't able to click and get information on it. It really made her upset. For the price, in my opinion every country should be clickable.

Wonderful app!!. I don't know why others are complaining. There is just enough info and illustrations to prove a point. It's GREAT for kids with short attention spans... And has managed to keep my 4 year old daughter (and 32 year old husband) occupied for hours! Fantastic app and I would recommend it to anyone!

Pretty Good. This app is pretty good if you are looking for a world map with basic information- time, distance, land area, population, etc. There are landmarks that you can click that will tell you all about them. There are even photographs of the areas. However, the information is very basic. I would love to see more development of the countries- the people, languages, foods, industries, religions, etc. This coming from an educator's standpoint. This app would be great for students to use for research projects and a great reference if there was more information included. Great start, though!

Question the accuracy. Some mildly interesting facts but a lot of storage for something that could just as easily be looked up in Wikipedia. More concerning are the locations of some the icons that share info but are not in the geographic location they describe. Example the duram wheat of the Dakotas is shown in Missouri and the cherries of Michigan are shown in Illinois. No confidence in the accuracy of location and information given these obvious errors. Why i love the app. Im 8 years old and I've never seen an app so educational then bare foot atlas and i love geography and this app helps me learn about the whole world and the things that are really cool like eiffel tower, statue of liberty and much, much more. This app could also be helpful for grown ups too. I love this app and you should too.

Stunning. Stunning. Very thoughtfully created app to inspire the curiosity and love of learning for children and adults. The sounds are great, and it works really well for people who think in a more linear way (explore by region) or just like to jump around (random button). I love it!

Extremely Poor on content. I'm amazed at how poor on content this app is. A basic search on google would've given a wealth of information on any subject or country found in this app. I fail to see what purpose it serves the photos embedded are not even a true representation of what could be found they just seem to be any old snap taken. I realise to hold meaningful content on the whole world would be hard but encoded links to external sources would be simple to achieve Don't waste you're time with this use any search engine and you can find all this and more and gain more pleasure than this app would ever give you
