CDC Comments & Reviews 2026
Would be a useful app but.... Links within articles don’t open. There are lots of excellent daily articles. However, what should be informative content is hindered by links that do not open (in particular, the what you need to know about coronavirus one)
Travelers’s health vaccine recommendations. It is too difficult to find travelers’s health recommendations, such as recommended vaccinations for certain countries. Needs to be more straightforward.
Pretty good. Pretty simple to use and had information on a variety of topics. Allows you to look at national and global data about diseases.
Advertised as health n fitness but not!. Just another news app, there news. They say nothing about real nutrition which would actually make you healthier. Such a shame! CDC should ‘know’ better.
Trump, fauchi, Burke’s & surgeon gen Are Murderers. They baked trump;s lie and so many people died. I wouldn’t trust any of these people anymore. While now they tell you how to distance they still lied at the start and downplayed the virus following low life trump’s orders.
App does not load. App does not do anything.. So I downloaded the app to see if it will help unlock the Covid-19 detection and symptoms check and it would load. I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling it and it still won’t work. App is total garbage.
Thank you. Thank you for putting this App together to make it easy to find information quickly
Works so far. Downloaded because we are In desperation of seeking sane, truthful, factual advice. This is CRAZY! In Cali and been stuck in the house for six Days so far. Praying for all those infected and families of loved ones that have passed away🙏🏾
Insecure. It doesn't work if your privacy settings block Google servers. Citizens should not have to let themselves be spied on by Google to access government websites and apps.
Awkward to use with iPads. So here we are in almost the year 2025, but the app is designed with no landscape-view support, as if Steve Jobs has just introduced the first iPhone just last week (no such thing as an iPad yet). Please add landscape view and proper iPadOS support. iPad owners the world over will love and appreciate your doing so. That is, of course, if your websites don’t go dark with the coming administration. Even then, it’ll still look better in landscape mode.
Works great!. I had no problem with any of the links. It pulled up the most current information available the same as on the CDC website.
Behind the Times?. Seems to me that this app doesn't do much to encourage people to go get vaccinated for COVID-19. I've been following the Data Tracker for this new disease almost since the first phases, when the big news was still in China and on cruise ships. It makes no sense to me that the CDC is still listing, among its "easy-access" [my expression] data points, the percentage of Americans who have received "at least one" of the three separate injections required for optimum immunity. If the CDC continues to publish that lackadaisical statistic, it should also present the results of a study showing the percentages of people who still contracted COVID-19 within, say, one year after receiving (1) only the first inoculation, not the second one and not the booster; (2) the first two shots but not the booster; (3) all three shots. Either do the study--or save that money, because you would otherwise be spending it (again) to re-rationalize the current protocol. Instead, post the following message loud and clear on the CDC website: "Folks, if you want optimal immunity ASAP, you gotta get two full shots plus a booster--spaced properly apart. And this virus isn't going to go away. We're already trying to figure out the subsequent inoculations that we'll all need in order to maintain immunity over the next two, three, four years." How else is the CDC going to motivate full and ongoing compliance with its recommendations, now and in future years? KSSHRINK
Doesn’t work. This app never opens past the initial splash screen. I have downloaded the app several times on my up to date iPhone 11. I have deleted it and have given up.
Really not helpful. I was hoping to see real statistics on the Coronavirus and other diseases in the USA, but nothing is there. It doesn’t show new cases, no statistics, nothing. To see the symptoms I really don’t need this app the Kaiser app would be enough.
Limited information. The App provides politically correct information and therefore limited. No data on children and if it is safe for them to go back to school
Fixed the issue. You all have fixed the oorning of the app. Thanks
Informational App. The CDC app provides great factual information that can be used by anyone. It provides relevant information for what is currently happening through out the world. One thing that I wish was more up to date would be their statistics. There has been great changes in health the last few years so more recent statistics could better inform our society.
Very informative. I think this app is very informative and has lots of critical information needed that you can’t find anywhere else. It is a reliable source that can be used safely and will not contain false information.
Great app. Why does it have a low rating?
Why Have App If No Link To Web Site. Minimalistic indeed. Two star rating is being generous.
Love CDC but the app needs fixing. The app helps a lot, it is usually full of information and platform friendly. It is sometimes outdated but accurate. Good app but serious UI problems.
Too buggy. Being an Exercise Science major I was excited about this app, but after being on it for less than 2 minutes it’s too buggy to navigate well. Needs quality functional upgrades.
Disappointed. The app is not what i thought it would be I can get my information on the internet better than this app . It’s not worth my time … you cant even ask a question very disappointed mistake in 3 stars i give it a one star rating
Just a dump of information without prioritization. You think that CDC would put contact tracing apps and tools where it would be easy to find them. I am looking at all kind of data that would be helpful if I were doing a science project. I am looking for a contact tracing app in my state and I can’t find it. What the hell?
Used to be informative, essential and up to date. I'm disappointed in that this app is no longer keeping us up to date and safe regarding the recent bird flu outbreak that has been in the news. Isn't this the whole point of having this app on your phone?
Texas Resident. I have found this app to be very unhelpful. The information can be found on any TV station or radio station with more accuracy. When you list the accounts of diseases, numbers and locations of spread the coral coronavirus 19 is not even listed. I find this ridiculous and I suspect Politics is playing a role. If you don’t report accurately the amount of infection rate it makes the federal government look better in their failed response to this crisis.
Totally useless. App hangs up, says need to be on-line to access data, I am on-line! Says new vivid app available from Apple, tried to load it from Apple on my iPhone 6 and told only works with iOS 13. Get more and better info from local tv news
CDC App. This app is very useful, but could offer more sources and detailed information on certain topics. For example explanations or sources on vaccines and what they do on a microscopic level
No updated info since early 2021. This app is misleading and need of an update. We’ve already had a delta variant and Omicron, this app needs to be updated.
Knowledge is power. But you can’t be knowledgeable if the information is not available. This app should be helpful not frustrating especially now.
The update fixed it. Just so everyone knows, the recent update fixed the problem where the links weren’t working!
Terrible. Extremely frustrating. You open the app and you try scroll... its freezes. When clicking on an article it zooms in close and won’t let you scroll to read the rest of the article.
Not that helpful re Covid. Basically just links to pages in the CDC website. No new tools or data that you can’t find on the CDC website AFAIK
Disappointed. This app is for the CDC a government agency tasked with controlling diseases and they can’t be bothered to spend a handful of dollars to hire a couple of developers on fiver to fix their app. If there was a time for an app like this to work, now would be it.
poor. Updates NOT. Very slow, links often times don’t open. Better information through google.
Excellent. Up to date, current, relevant information regarding public health!!!
Amazing. You can find anything you want here from Ebola to Covid19. The only down side is that I am young and find it somewhat hard to use. But it’s easy to learn after a while. Thank you CDC!!!!
Propaganda. Site has been taken over by political hacks. Can’t believe anything being posted on it.
Not the info I need. Couldn’t find a simple. Covid case and death count by country. What’s with that?
Decent but lacks few things. I would include communication channel for submitting feedback, including image upload.
Insane and inaccurate notification message on your website. This is an abomination that the preseident and Kennedy, continue to put American lives in danger by gutting vital CDC staff and research. Publicly referring to the minority party as responsible for the shutdown, when you govern from all branches govt, is childish and not taken seriously.
Very Disappointing. Search engine isn’t very sophisticated. The same boilerplate keeps coming up no matter what the search terms are.
Woulda, shoulda, coulda. Has potential, yet 2-3 days out of date. And do you Really think attaching the words “the White House “ to CDC’s program/app is smart or necessary? You splatter your self by standing so close.
Great App. I think that this app is truly informative, especially for public health, or any related health major. It can be used after school, and can help retrieve reliable statistics!
Useless. COVID-19 info is not up-to-date and takes a long time to load; for one link after loading a message came up saying go to their online site. So just do that and forget the app.
Click articles and it goes to a blank screen. Click articles and it goes to a blank screen
Terrible to Navigate. Looking for something specific that isn’t on the first page of this app? Forget it. You’ll find it faster online. Didn’t believe me and actually found the first thing you wanted... then try to navigate back so you can look for the second. This app is hard to use. The online website is better.
No option to open PDF on other apps. Although the app provides the option to view PDF versions of articles, it locks in the PDF to the app only removing the option to share the PDF with other apps.
Links don’t work. Since the latest update, the functionality of the app has degraded. Links don’t work, necessitating rerouting to the website. There is really no advantage to using my iPhone’s memory for this app.
Can’t click on links. Some links are just not responsive within the app. Really unfortunate.

excellent and updated app. great for such a time as this! thanks cdc

Cool app but links don’t work. Many of the links are not working. If they did I would rate it much higher.
It’s 2020. All links appear dead. Really?
Instant Crash. iOS 12.5.6
Completely Useless. You would think with the backing of the US government that the CDC could create an app that actually opens and displays data. Obviously not - embarrassing at best!
Cannot do Covid symptom checker. App stops at age. Won’t move forward, just freezes indefinitely.
TERRIBLE. No current and up to date data on time sensitive alerts. Worthless!
Junk. When you select the menu for stats the Corona virus isn’t even listed.
Not surprised. A government app won’t even open.
The App Doesn’t Work.. Please Fix It.
disappointed to say the least. okay, look… I keep up with my vaccines, so I’m not one of “those individuals” but I am wowed that the info on here about covid is so…. lacking at this point? the pandemic is not quite over. the attention paid to mpox is encouraging but very very little is being said of the huge surges in literally all other sexually transmitted diseases nationwide right now. I definitely believe that the mpox vaccine should be offered openly to anyone of any persuasion right now… some people have open relationships, about half of the others in relationships cheat on their partners, and more people are pan and/or bi than most professionals would ever believe (or admit); guys…. this is part of how your predecessors dropped the ball on HIV, by painting it as a gay man’s disease, this is irresponsible and shameful. we’re not about to run out of mpox vaccines, offer them to everyone sexually active, for obvious reasons. also; the lack of regular info and warnings on the dangers of tobacco or nicotine use, ESPECIALLY vaping (which is probably more dangerous more quickly than smoking cigarettes ever was for previous generations and is going to become a huge problem for the daily health and wellbeing of many, many people under 30 within the next five years [and the CDC will act totally blindsided by this when one in fifty thirty year olds have the lungs of a 70 year old chain smoker]) is quite troubling. the normal overprescribing and the resulting addiction to legal prescription drugs by the medical indust- ahem, the medical community, and alcoholism, the forgotten addiction, because it is legal and more or less socially encouraged for all adults through peer pressure and marketing, seems to also be largely ignored as a major public health concern. I am a former bartender and I work at a gas station right now, alcoholism is a major problem, trust my daily regular customers if not me. I won’t even do more than just mention the CDC avoiding discussing the risks of young people falling into sports gambling addiction, which is a ready-made mental health epidemic in progress as I type this. HOWEVER, the absolute last straw that made me write this review, and to finally uninstall the app, is the Reefer Madness post in late April (‘23). A full century after the racially motivated transformation of all of American law enforcement to combat poor and black and brown people by way of banning liquor and cannabis, in 2023, the american CDC releases a Reefer Madness warning about a made up condition and calls cannabis “the most overused federally illegal drug”. okay….. nice syntax, very incredibly specific and totally not propagandistic in any way at all!! It’s legal in more places than not. It’s prescribed by physicians and/or licensed practitioners in more places than it’s legal recreationally. Forms of it are very much federally legal and regulated in ALL 50 states. It has been proven medically for generations now to be safer than aspirin and cold medicine, even for pregnant people. BUT POT IS THE PROBLEM WE NEED THE CDC TALKING ABOUT NOW!? Are you serious….? Is the ghost of Harry Anslinger running the CDC or what? Are y’all getting political kickbacks from the pill and vape and liquor companies but not those from legal medicinal farmers….? (probably) Nothing about how obesity and overconsumption of refined sugars and polysaturated fat is as dangerous as smoking cigarettes, and nearly unavoidable in the daily american diet. Nothing about how guns kill more children and young adults than anything else, nor about how most gun deaths are actually suicides. No links or helpful info EVER to resources on mental health, or even physical healthcare in red states where healthcare is restricted for many citizens. No mentions of adult ADHD or Autism, as apparently they are both childhood diseases that go away after adolescence…. THIS IS WHERE OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE GOING TO!? This kind of mismanagement is why 1 in 3 americans believe vaccines are where diseases come from and less than one in five people have the latest COVID vaccine. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Reefer Madness….. give me a break. this is why america is the world’s laughingstock. congratulations, you have failed us yet again, CDC. keep it up. we need a new federal health agency, you will never recover from this reputation with americans or other citizens abroad, regardless of politics. stop being the problem, CDC. we need solutions right now.
Difficult to trust the CDC. The CDC has been wrong about so many things during COVID-19 that it’s hard to know what to believe
I sure hope they only put an intern on this.. If this is the best they can do, This speaks volumes on where government budging should be cut from first.
No Landscape View. The app is of limited use on a mounted iPad in landscape orientation. Appears limited to portrait only.
Covid-19 tracker symptoms. Tracer and symptoms doesn’t work anymore 👎
What’s the use when the link doesn’t work?. Is this CDC app a joke?
CDC. Is there a charge for this? I didn’t see any so I clicked????
Basically trash. Really hopeful this would be a useful app. Sadly, it is not.
Covid. This app is terrible to understand when your sick and need help! It’s a messed up system!
APP MISLEADING. I’m looking for the app with info for COVID facilities as I’m in medical field and not getting all info before going into certain working environments. Thought this was the app for that I was highly mistaken.
Lackluster. Was this made by interns? Seriously this behaves like a repacked web app from 2008.
Useless. Most links don’t work. Completely unresponsive. Just go to the website.
Doesn’t load. Never loads.. stays on the logo screen forever.
Nope. It’s true Links don’t open.
Confusing. Let’s get it clearer so we all can benefit and get well stay well ! Thanks.
Useless. Downloaded to see the covid 19 stuff. Information is out of date and maps do not even show covid. Deleting app
Buggy. downloaded it to keep informed but its so buggy its not even usable.
Always Frozen. App always frozen. Not sure why. I want to like this app.
Does not work!. You click on links. They don't open!
Poor Quality. This isn’t an app, it’s a glorified CDC website you can download from the App Store. This doesn’t benefit from an iOS experience at all.
Terrible. I am amazed at how bad this app is. Absolutely no thought went into it. CDC should be embarrassed to call this their app.
??. What’s this Spanish “Baloney” ? English only in the USA !!
App does not open.. App does not open. Freezes on logo screen.
App doesn’t load. App freezes after responding to an alert.
Awesome!. I thought this app was awesome and useful
CDC News. Experts advise to citizens without the Vodou
Waste of time. Poor content, barely works; who developed this ?
Useless. Useless app as far as the coronavirus goes. I don’t need to be preached to, I want facts and data, which it doesn’t provide.
Will not open. I loaded the app and it never went past the blank screen. I deleted the app.
Off line. Hi, i have iphone 11 pro, ios 13.3.1, and when i open this app, appear a message that it is off line. But eifi is on line, 4G is on line. And the data dont load. Thanks
CDC app review. Doesn’t work or open on iPhone X —deleted the app
Doesn’t work. App only opens once and doesn’t work after that. Reloading the app does the same thing. Useless!!!
CDC. You can’t open any links within the app
CDC has zero credibility. The CDC gas lost all trust. What a joke!
App doesn’t open in an iPhone 11 Pro Max. App doesn’t go past the loading screen.
Does NOTHING. The app displays CDC name and logo on a black screen. That is all it does. Reset, reload, restart ... NOTHING.
Useless App. Been stated here by everyone, the links in the app don’t work. Useless. Don’t waste your time downloading.
CDC downplays testing for Coronavirus. Shame on the CDC for doing this. I deleted the app when I found out.
No trust. You can’t trust the information so why have it on your phone. DELETE!!!
Thumbs down.. Poor implementation. Not user friendly. Slow loading and hangs a lot. Where is corona info in easily readable format ???
Crashes. Consistently crashes under iOS 13.5
