Great for notifications. I love the notification feature. It keeps me current on everything of great importance. I found it extremely useful during hurricane season.

Won’t use a news app that sells advertising.. Simple as it says. When you sell advertising, news is no longer news. If you allow paid advertising and you won’t get the news without opinions. Can’t even get to the live broadcast or weather reports without 5 minutes of commercials.

NOT AS ADVERTISED. PAID for app, so as to not be bothered by ads. But ads CONTINUE to be shown on screen! Now, app will not even let me enter! Am I being discriminated against? “No refund after paid for?” I purchased the ad-free app, but can no longer open this! How wrong is this?

Useless. Without a doubt the worst excuse for streaming news I have found. Most of the time all they have is the “will return soon “ sign but when that’s not on they are showing some infomercial which they present as news. Don’t waste your time.

Keeps me Updated. I spend part of my year in PA and part in Florida. Whether I am in either state, ABC keeps me informed and up to date with local and national news.

Adds...really?. Downloaded this in case lost tv, so could get updates and alerts with Irma bearing down on us. First, had to register, not that it's a huge deal, but why? So you can send adds to my inbox? Moving on...started up the app and first thing I get...a lousy advertisement. Really?!? I removed the app immediately I can't stand people forcing advertising on me, especially with an app that's supposed to update you with emergency notifications.

Review. I love this app. I can get right to the topics that interest me only versus listening to the whole newscast just to hear maybe 1 topic of interest as the subject usually isn’t top news

Local news update. This app does a good job of updating our local news in the Tampa Bay Area. When hurricane season starts I will rely on the local weather report for safety.

Removed live stream. This app has now been rendered useless. Scripps Media group is ruining everything they touch including the Sarasota ABC affiliate. I’m deleting it and I’ll watch Denis Phillips on X

Wonderful app!. My go to for local and national news, plus the weather updates keep me informed of any inclement weather. Really worthwhile app!

No good. The App itself works but the news channel is more interested in running television commercials than reporting weather. When you have tornadoes or hurricanes bearing down on you watching minutes long commercials don’t give you the latest weather information. Safety is being sacrificed for the all mighty dollar.

Great App!. I love this app use it all the time. The weather portion is great. I turned on the alert so I am up-to-date with any breaking news in my area. I would love to see “a things to do” section I know there some here and there but I’d like to kind of like an event what’s going on in Pinellas and Hillsboro. Other than that it’s great I would download it as soon as possible.

Completely useless when needed. There were tornadoes around my area so I tried to use this app to follow the weather from the safe place in my home. Absolutely no live coverage overnight. Just the pre-recorded segments that had zero to do with what was happening live. Had to leave the bathroom repeatedly to get updates from the TV, and was doing this as the tornado was passing over my home. Luckily, it had lifted off the ground by that point, but me or my family could’ve been hurt. This is just pre-recorded videos and advertisements. Mostly advertisements. This app is NOT a helpful tool in an emergency.

Weather Useless on iPad. The Weather page is a joke. Half the page is a map that I can't find a way to hide, so the details do not have enough space. The font is small and some of the text colors are not easy to read. I tried to expand the text to make it easier to read but it would not expand. It does not seem possible to click on a future day to see more details. Last, I can only get Tampa weather - useless for trip planning to other locations. Please have a stand-alone full feature weather app.

Always Providing The Best News. I've been tracking Hurricane Irma and this has been the best app for local news. I even told my out of town family to use this app for updates and not the national news.

No news weekend. Edit update 9/7/17 None of there hurricane links work. I mean nothing. Text takes forever to load. On IPhone 6+ 2 day old news on weekends

Great App. I use this app all the time to keep up with local news and weather, and if I’m driving around the traffic feature is great. Couldn’t ask for a more convenient, easy to use tool to keep up to date.

App doesn’t even work. App force closes once I try to open it. It’s been going on for two months already and still no update. Come on ABC Action News, get it together

My Lunchtime go to app. ABC Action News on my iPad while I am having lunch is the best. It catches me up on all the local news that has happened since this am. I watch ABC News in the AM as well.

Horribl. It shows 5 minutes of commercials, 5 minutes of news and then it says “we’ll be right back “. But it never comes back.

Great for people in the go. I never get to sit and watch the news these days. So I love this app because i can stay up to date in my busy life. I love to browse the app right before I go to bed at night. And If you really want to stay in tune with local happening you can turn on notifications.

Deleted this app!. Had this app for about a year. Too many so-called “breaking news” alerts! Tired of being bombarded with less than significant alerts. I don’t need a notification every time Gov. Scott passes wind! When I do open the app, I’m then again bombarded with annoying pop up ads. I had deleted WFLA app for the same reasons. I give up.

What I need in a news app. Easy to navigate. Never crashes.

Annoying ads. This is a good app and the live streaming is great for staying informed. I do however have a problem with the advertisements that run in the stream. I just saw the same ad 8 times back to back. I have no problem seeing ads to keep an app free but seeing the same one 8 times in a single break is annoying. Mix it up a bit folks. Use some of the ads that ran back to back yesterday.

Hate. Hate the new format. Too many huge ads. Too little content. Horrible upgrade. Sad really that folks supposedly "in the business" actually make things worse.

Terrible revised app. I can no longer sort and find what interests me. One of my favorite things about the former way the app worked is that when I clicked on a notification re a story, it opened the story. Now it just opens the app and I try - often in vain - to locate the article that brought me to the app in the first place. App needs a major overhaul.

Customized push notices. I was getting a lot of push notices and I like breaking news but didn't care about sports. Now I can choose what to see. Neat!

Connected at my convenience. Great app for local and national news. Easy to use. I wish the updates came in a bit quicker but overall works great no issues.

No Live News. The ABC Action News app purports to give us a live news feed, but it does not. After watching several ads, we see Replay News, presumably from a previous broadcast. The remainder of the app does offer file video of local news, weather, and printed stories. If we were allowed to see the live feed of the news as it is being broadcast, this would be an excellent app.

ABC local app- best source for news. I rely on it every day, and the notifications help me to be aware of my community.

Rampant ads ruined a great news source. This used to be my go-to app for local news. Now pop-up ads and 'answer a survey questions' just make trying to read the news infuriating. Deleted the app. Now they get zero advertising revenue from me

What happened??. I loved this app, up until the last update. This new layout is not very friendly, it's like they just threw everything into one pot and there you go. Where as before you could select local, national or world news. But one thing is for sure, you certainly can't miss those ads. They are much bigger and everywhere now.

Hate the Update. I hate this update. It doesn't navigate well like the previous version. Too much scrolling. And perhaps the most frustrating part... I personally like to READ the news and 90% of these "articles" are videos of the news story. If I wanted to watch the video clips I would just watch the actual news. Deleting this app which is a shame because until now it was my only local news app.

Nuisance alerts. Good local news app. Thank you for removing the AM airport temp alert. Now please discontinue nuisance alerts for national news items. I don't need three alerts about the court case of the day, happening a couple states over. I can read that at my own leisure later, without needing to interrupt me right now. Please broadcast only actionable LOCAL must know weather and traffic alerts, like if a tornado is on the ground or Interstate x is closed of. You get the idea.

Information stale. What’s the refresh rate? Always se Ed ma like the info is old news.

iPad app is crap. iPhone app works just fine and is easy to scroll through stories. iPad app not so much. They have taken half the screen and locked it on their choice of story leaving the bottom half for you to scroll through the rest.

Good local reporting, bad national source. 50/50.

Ruined. I love ABC Action News and this used to be my go to local news app, but this latest forced update wrecked the app for me. The new update is focused on ads, video and more ads. Gone is the nice horizontal swipe from article to article feature and you have to awkwardly close each new story on the top right side, to go to the next. I'd gladly pay for a no ad version...!

Don't bother. I agree with all the other updates. It is cumbersome and very centered on advertising now. Plus you must login through Facebook or email and subject yourself to further intrusions. It is now being deleted and I will go look for a new app from a competing station.

Very poorly written.... Most of the articles seem to have been published here in their "rough draft" phase. Very incomplete coverage of the news, like they didn't research anything about the event, they just wanted to get it out there quickly.

Long, unskippable ads. App is fine but when you go to look at a video it forces you to watch the full ad (20+ seconds). No way to skip after I've determined I'm not interested in feminine hygiene products. App deleted!

Cluttered and confusing. Feed is filled with national stories, entertainment news, and opinion pieces. It's hard to sort out the local news. I already have apps with national news I was hoping abc action news app would have more focus on local stories but I was disappointed that I couldn't even find a local news section at all.

Local news. New version is awesome. Looks clean. Always updated. Video plays from the first screen. Takes me less clicks to get what I want. Lots of ads though.

Disappointing App. I expected this app to be carry the same stories, traffic and weather as the morning news on TV. I can't get TV in my bathroom, so I thought this would fill the gap. Unfortunately the stories were not the same as on TV, and this morning they were the same as they broadcast yesterday! Now I can't trust that the news is current, so how can I trust the traffic or weather? Very diappointing.

Commercials Lag WAAAAAY TOO LOOOONG. This app has been this way for a very long time now. You have gone through many many updates and have not fix this annoying problem of commercial videos ending and lag time beginning for up to a minute. It is inexcusable and shows that you pay no attention to your app because this problem has not been resolved in a very long time. Good luck with your app. Stop being irresponsible to your viewers.

Don't download this app. I used to like this Tampa news app but now, every time I use it, it does this thing where it AUTOMATICALLY "Clicks" on its own advertisement links and opens the App Store and tries to force me to download the Uber app!! What a PAIN! Also, ABC needs to hire copy editors because almost every news story is full of spelling and grammatical errors. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I have now deleted it. Don't be a victim!!

So so. It's great during the week, but nothing but the weather seems to be updated on the weekend. It gives you the impression that they are not truly committed to this app.

Awesome APP. This ABC App is easy to use. I get all the information I need. It's worth having the APP.

Mostly stories about Twitter drama. Great app for staying in the know about which Halloween costumes people find offensive. Also a great source for information on the kardashians, celebrity Twitter feuds, and what Donald Trump has said today. There's also some local news thrown in every once in awhile.

Best for local news. These folks are great. They often have the info first and always have it right. Get the notifications and be the first to know.

Keeps crashing on my iPhone. I can open the app, but if I click on ANY article...the app always crashes.

Decent. I have had this app for about a month, and I like it more than most local news apps (I've lived in NY and FL). However, the stories are not edited very well (spelling and grammar), and the stories can be updated more often.

Problem with News Alerts. Newest version needs a fix..."news alerts" are breaking twice and showing twice in the Notification Center, approximately 30 - 60 seconds apart. This is getting annoying!!!

Great News Source!. ABC Action News app has been my go-to news source since I moved to Florida in 2009. News is updated throughout the day as well as notifying me of breaking news. Their customer service support team responds to any problems you may be having with the app, and their technical staff promptly works on solving the problems. You will not be disappointed in this app!

Double updates. Notifications are pushing twice about a minute apart. Insanely annoying, deleting in favor of News Channel 8. Channel 8 app is great btw! Not too spammy and interesting push headlines. Sorry abc, I came back to check for an update but you haven't posted it yet.

Action News. ABC has been my go to "News Station" for the last 30 yrs! What really hooked me, while I was working on my days off I volunteered at the Station with ABC Action News on your side. Helping victims of wrong doing and was trained by other associates that were qualified . While working you could watch the news broadcast live and meet the news casters. They all work hard in preparing and verifying their stories before airing live on TV. It's actually a very interesting and enjoyable work place! : )

Slow to report. While this app provides newsworthy stories,it is really slow to bring latest especially on weekends

ABC App. I check it numerous times each day for current news. We do not have Bay News 9, so this is the next best thing.

Do not like. The previous app was much more user-friendly and easy to read the articles. The new app is very annoying. Sure the print is easier to read but that's only thing that is appealing to me. I deleted the app from my phone. I can't be bothered looking through all the nonsense. The news team really needs to improve the writing of their articles and find someone who can proofread it before goes out to the public.
