Review. Excellent magazine/app, helps me to understand the subject

Digital. I love the ability to take my digital subscription on the go with me!

Can’t restore purchases or downward new issues.. I’ve been a print subscriber for many years. I plan to stick to the print version because this app is basically useless. Every couple of months I cannot download my issues. I contact support and they do something. Then I uninstall/reinstall the app, and it works for a few months. I am an app developer so I know this stuff is not rocket science. How they can put an app in the store that doesn’t have basic functionality is beyond me.

Lost Subscription. I used to ready this magazine via newstand and now that this company created their own application I was asked by them to get in contact straight with Apple for a refund. This is not the way to treat a paying customer.

It’s just ok. The problem I have with it is I didn’t buy the digital copy through Apple App Store I got mine through the web site. But my issue come to me through Apple and I’m be asked to buy the issues that I already payed for. So not happy about that, I’m working it out through the customer service with sound & Vision. When it comes to the actual reading the article in the issues I have no problem with pdf’s are clear and readable back issues for a price you could buy them that’s ok too.

Horrible Update. This latest update will wipe out all your previously downloaded issues so you will need to download them again. This update also removes the very useful feature where you can jump to any article from the magazine's preview or contents page. Touching the article on that page now does nothing. You will have to open a separate contents list and then scroll down to that item. What used to take just one step now takes several steps. I know it is nor easy making an app. The original app was great! We just ask that you at least don't create an update make things worse for your customers.

Print subscriber double-dip? No way!. I've been print subscriber for years and would love digital copy but apparently they want you to pay twice...sorry, not gonna happen. Many other mags offer free digital access with print subscription but I don't see where this is an option with Home Theater Magazine. Too bad.

Print Subscriber can't view issues. I am a print subscriber and I'm not able to view issues. I am able to view my Sound and Vision issues as a print subscriber. Will not renew my Home Theater subscription!

Buggy and frustrating. This is the most buggy and frustrating app I have ever experienced. Can't sign in. Can't view prior issues. I have a print subscription and it can't be combined with the digital edition. DO NOT DOWNLOAD this app until they get their act straight.

Cannot Restore Purchases - Just Clear White Screen!. I’ve subscribed to S&V for years. In the last 6 weeks I have not been able to view any magazines. I follow the steps to restore purchases but nothing is ever restored. All I see a clear white screen! This needs to be fixed!!

Can’t Access Issues. I subscribe to the physical magazine and used to be able to view digital issues, can’t anymore.

Won't let me create account. They take my $9.99 for the subscription, but won't let me view my subscriptions. Nice job! It's called stealing!

Why should I have to pay for the digital edition when I already buy the print subscription?. Nothing more to add.

Keeps Crashing. App won't let me download any of the magazines I subscribe too. It just keeps telling me to re launch the app and try again. I've tried all of the troubleshooting steps, and still no luck.

Horrible tech Support. Won't let you create an account, so you can open on another device. TEN is a nightmare to deal with. You've been warned!

Restore does not work. Subscription was automatically renewed but have no access. Give me my money back.

Home Theater App. This app works so much better than the Zinio counterpart.

Can’t restore purchases or download issues. I have been a loyal subscriber to Sound & Vision, previously Home Theater Mag as well, for a long time. I have always looked forward to a new issue when it arrived. However, that enthusiasm has been dashed as I am unable to download any new issues despite restoring multiple signs. I have contacted Zinio for resolution. Is it too much to ask for an app to work in such a basic way?

Lost subscription in app update. Although the magazine has always been great, they just lost me as a customer. I had a paid subscription on the old version of the app. After making a new app, they will not transfer the remainder of my subscription to the new app. So now it's up to me to beg apple for a refund. That's no way to treat a paying customer.

Flawless. Not sure why others are having problems. This app works great! I like the part that when I want to go to a referred web site, I just tap and it takes me there. I use Apple product. Not sure how Microsoft products work with this. Believe me I have been thru some crappy apps. This one works great.

Home Theater magazine. Hope you note the reviews for this app. Don't waste your money on this app. Just buy the paper magazine which is excellent. Will not load in. Crashes upon Launching. Perhaps it is not compatible with the latest apple iOS. Very dissatisfied. This app should be pulled until they fix the bugs.

What Happened?. This app has worked perfectly for me for quite years. Earlier this week my library was empty and could not refresh. My subscription is active. Worked with support who told me this would be fixed today and nothing happened. Great service for a very loyal reader

Non-functional!. Used to work just fine but does not work at all. I subscribe to magazine and the media edition used to be included. I am assuming that they have changed the rules somewhere along the way that you now need to subscribe separately to the media version in addition to the print version. What a complete ripoff - I will be canceling my print edition and move on.

Home theater. Love home theater magazine. Now it is mobile. No brainer. Love it

More content. It's a good app but it would be nice to get some exclusive content and have access to older editions

Home Theater on the go!. As an electronics geek, love having the digital version on the iPad. Now, will they be putting the buyer guide out on the iPad? That would be fantastic to have at my fingertips!

No longer works!. Since iOS 8 app will no work. Had to call apple support twice now. Cannot get it to work. Should be removed from store!

RIP OFF. MyTimeMedia LTD knows nothing about app support or costumer service. I subscribed to S&V a few months ago only to suddenly have all past issues removed and the app acting as if I don’t exist. Customer support blames my user ID or my IPad Pro. Same company is in charge of the Stereophile Mag and the same issue occurred there a few years ago. I should have known better. STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP DEVELOPER

Take a Minute!. My restore purchases didn't work at first. But I somehow went back to app page or just closed the newsstand and reopened it. It worked after 35-45 seconds of checking it out. Love it, ppl complaining,,,,do you really think Apple a multibillion dollar company it trying to rip u off a magazine. Geez!

Could be so much better. While I am willing to pay for the convenience of having magazines on my iPad, I wish they would offer more than their paper counterparts. Simply slapping the paper issue on a scanner and calling it a day isn't going to cut it if publishers want to attract digital subscribers. This is a missed opportunity to offer more to the reader.

Can’t download issues. As a long time digital subscriber issues will not restore. So many problems still with digital mags.

Do not buy!. As already stated do not buy a subscription. You will not be able to download new issues even though you've been charged. No recourse, just out $9.99. Total ripoff!

Where are new issues?. What happened to actually releasing issues? Has the mag gone under?

Back issues. It would be great if we were allowed to view the older magazines as well. At least for the length of the subscription. Otherwise it's an okay subscription.

Okay. So with touch screen/hand gesture input as well as the super high-clarity of Retina display, I'd expect a little more from this magazine app. Every magazine app out there should model their functionality after Macworld's magazine app. In the Macworld app: Text is appropriately sized so you don't have to adjust/zoom; use of a scrolling screen with multiple layers is great; interactivity with clickable page parts makes it more than just a digital form of a printed magazine. This is what I want from Home Theater! Great articles; outstanding insight and reviews, just need the app to catch up to the competition. iOS is extremely powerful... use it! Hope you developers/writers are listening!

Terribly written app. Months ago this was a great app.. Not sure what they did to it, but it is now a disaster. It frequently crashes. Often forgets that I have a subscription, and almost every time I use it and try to download an issue it tells me I need to reinstall the app.

Just the worst.. Content is good, the digital app is just the worst. I subscribe for year. Work well for three months. And then stopped working. I restored my subscription. No luck. I contacted their digital helpdesk, they couldn't help me because I subscribe through iTunes. I reinstalled app, no luck. Same problems I have with them years ago. The lousiest worst digital app ever. Only rating one star as I can't right zero.

Don't buy a subscription!!!!!!!!!. I paid for the$9.99 yearly subscription and it won't let me see the magazines. It won't even let me create an account. I want my money back!!!! Completely useless. When I try to restore my purchases it hangs with the "please wait for your purchases to be restored" message.

Current version doesn't work with iOS 8. Doesn't work with iOS 8, continually get the "restart the app and try again" message when trying to download my content.

Outstanding!!!. I update my online subscription every year with Sound & Vision magazine! You can't beat the price considering how much money I've saved over the years on my home theater equipment and components simply by reading all about the products on S&V mag! Longtime customer and will continue to be!

My review. Over all great app just need to remember what months I have purchased

Not ready for iPad retina display. This is not about the content, but the app which is the worst magazine app I have used, the pages are too pixelated to read on the new iPad and it takes way too long to load the page legibly. I will check with apple if I can get a refund.

Ripoff. I purchased the original app under the old developer Bonnier Digital. I was satisfied with the app, however, my subscription didn't transfer to the new app under the current developer. I was just one issue into my automatic renewal before the transfer occurred, and it took me a couple of months to notice that the app transfer has taken place. When I went to request a refund from Bonnier and Apple, neither couple help me, so I basically paid a full year's subscription fee for a single issue. I didn't think this type of thing could occur, but the lesson has been learned. I will strongly consider letting my other magazine digital subscriptions expire, and I don't think I will be renewing any more magazine subscriptions through the App Store.

Only thing missing is Article (Product) Review Search. The digital version is great, although I subscribe to both versions I.e. printer & digital. There are times when I'm looking for the review of a product I read in the printed version months ago. I went to the digital format to search for the review of that product. I had to down load multiple months & look in each table on contents. An article review search would be Wonderful!!!

What did you do to the app?. The app used to be stable and functional, now it just sits in the newsstand and I can't even get to see the content of the magazine. This is very frustrating when you have a subscription to the publication. Updated the iPad to iOS 8 and refuses to work.

Print Subscription???. Be aware: I am a subscriber to the print edition of Home Theatre. If there is a way to view the digital edition as part of my print subscription, I haven't found it. And, no, I am NOT going to pay twice.

Crashes. After subscribing the app crashes at startup making this a useless waste of money. Please fix this!

App shuts on loading. After downloading the app and paying for a subscription it now just crashes when I open it. Have tried rebooting the iPad. Have tried uninstalling and re installing but no fix. Please update the app soon so I can actual read what I have paid for.

Disappointing Experience. The iPad version is a disappointment because there seems to be a lot of effort put into making the issue as non-linear as possible. There is no benefit to this.It simply seems aimed at making the process of reading each issue more complicated and therefore more difficult to get to the content.

Can’t open magazine.. I can’t download Nov issue of Sound and Vision. I get error message. Contacted help desk no response. What is going on nice to know I am not alone with this issue.Bob Sluyter

App Loads to Newsstand but view in Zinio?. This is bizarre. I have no subscribed issues available in the Newsstand app but the magazine is showing up in Zinio which is rather weird...I assume it's the same subscription. This is getting too complicated for me, have turned off auto-renewal and wont be bothering with this any more.

Zinio??. Hey. Why does my previous subscription on Zinio let me view in landscape mode successfully? In newsstand... In landscape mode, the bottom of the pages are cut off!!

Terrible service. If this magazine gets cancelled, they will take away all of your back issues. Also, support ignores emails.

Like the Mag. Good read. It’s going to be hard for the magazine to keep current now it’s publishing only every two months. The app and the subscription service linking is terrible. I just want the latest issue to be ready and accessible. It never is but the automatic renewal works really well!

They don't respond to emails. They first send you an automated reply saying that your email they have received the email but after numerous times will not respond. I subscribed to both Sound & Vision and Home theater magazine 1 week before they joined both of them together. Wrote numerous emails asking what happens to all those Home Theater Magazine subscribers like me and they don't reply.

I thought this was a tech magazine.. I have a subscription. On the Oct/Nov 2020 is when I select read on my iPhone it says “error opening issue”. So I tried my iPad. My devices are up to date and share all subscriptions However for Sound and Vision Oct/Nov it is asking me to pay for it. This is a very poorly run app.

Please update this for the retina display. Text looks unnecessarily fuzzy in full page view. I am a long time subscriber and was very hopeful for this app.

The Worst. Don't even bother. If anything goes wrong, this company will not be responsive. And take it from me, some.thing will go wrong!! Now it won't work with my 1st generation iPad and I had to cancel. They refunded me $3.00!!!!! For a whole year left.
