Directv remote. Its awesome but you should get the upgraded version its worth the money

What trial?. I can't add a receiver without upgrading. What kind of as trial is that?

Great app. Turn on your wifi and it works great! And it gives you easy step by step directions on how to set it up I would highly recommend buying the full version

Worthless with Smart TV. Not working with smart tv

Not good at all. It didn’t work. I lost my remote and I had to use the remote to set the application up. Also too many instructions.

Awesome. I was having trouble getting the app to work because my ip was coming up with a 162 ip and I was sure this shouldn't have been right! After calling direcTV we discovered my DECA box (the little black box they put near my router) was unplugged. After fixing this, i got the 192 IP and set up was soooooo easy. This app worked so well, I down loaded the full version right away. Btw I am sharing this little story in case it might help anyone else trouble shoot their own issue getting this app to work.

Some people.... I feel like there are some people out there that should just stick to a regular old remote. If you don't know what an IP or port number is, you are one of those people!

Easy to Setup And Use. Not as many features as the paid version

Great app! I wasn't compatible but it was a problem on my part. You need to have a receiver with wifi control, I did not. The app is still a great tool for those that have the service from directv! Thank you for making this trial app

Technology has come a LONG way. My boyfriend lost our remote and after a week of using the receiver buttons I looks for other solutions. When I was in highschool u had to buy a app and they nail u some device to make it able to use the phone. This was a life saver, buying the full version RIGHT NOW!

This would make it a 5 star app!. I understand its just not possible to control the volume on a non wifi tv, bc our phones don't have an infrared beam. However, as I'm sure you're aware, infrared is not necessary to control the volume on a smart tv. It can be done via wifi, in the same way this remote app works thru the wifi in the DTV boxes. I have a separate remote app for my smart tv, which controls all of the tv functions, but none of the DTV functions. It would be much more practical using 1 app to control everything. I understand designing an app w/ that kind of functionality would mean a lot more work going into it, & could possibly even mean making several apps for different brands of smart tv's, but at the same time, I know I'd be willing to pay more for 1 remote app capable of controlling both my tv & my DTV box. I'm sure others would as well.

Annoying.. I basically just downloaded this so I wouldn't have to get up and find the remote. Turns out I need the remote to get the receiver hooked up. So, for the mean time no tv for me.

Good tester. Good tester but get full version. It's worth the money because it gives u the full remote!

Works just fine.. I love when people leave negative reviews because they are dumb and can't figure out how to use the app. It works great, does exactly what it is supposed to.

Hah!. I love reading reviews from crazy people. To the previous reviewer, if you don't have Setup as an option, you probably don't have direcTV, genius. Stop b!tching about refunds on a free app. Just write to the devs, and I'm sure they'll mail your $0 back. Better yet, pay the post office for the 2 stamps to send a self addressed stamped envelope to get back the nothing you spent finding out that while you might be able to write, you certainly can't read. They might also send over tech support from one of the 7 year olds who've been able to master what you as a "programmer" can't. Now take a breath and get back on your meds before you have an aneurysm. As for the app: Already got the paid version. Nice of the devs to offer free one so people can test compatibility before purchasing.

doesn’t make sense. I downloaded this app so I could use as a remote, but I can’t because I need to find the IP address. IN ORDER TO FIND OUT WHAT MY IP ADDRESS IS I NEED THE REMOTE TO GO TO SETTINGS. I downloaded it because I don’t have a remote SO WHATS THE POINT ?!?

Amazing. 5 stars works great and when my parents are watching tv I turn it to my channel.

This app works great with my tv For the whole house The only thing I can ask to make this completely perfect is if you can update it to make the bookmarks load faster or have them not reload when u open ad close app leave it running in background and update size for iPhone 5 :) It becomes like your own custom channel of interest remote Best app on my iphone

easy button. This app was too easy to install. Its awesome. On the new directv system: once u hit menu, u go down to "parental, favs, setup, etc" and then go to system setup and then advanced setup. Thats it. Plug in the last digit for the ip address. Too easy. Less than 30 seconds.

Works better than my original remote.. This app really does work. It's more responsive to use than my original remote for Directv. For those of you that give this or any app a bad rating and only put :( as your remark, you should probably think about it before you post it.

IT WORKS!!!. I forgot that I had my iPhone's WIFI cut off but once I turned it on it finally took the IP# and worked perfectly. When friends come over and see my phone changing channels it blows there mind!! I LOVE THIS APP!!!!!

Won't upgrade if I can't truly test it!. Since the free version is "cripple ware" I won't buy it. Let us test the full version (with ads, if necessary) to see if it's worth buying. The free version is worthless since you can't even pull up the guide. Uninstalled.

Direct tv controller app. Definitely extremely easy to use (as others have stated read the directions). Tested it then bought the full app immediately. Best part about the app is no lag or delay like the actual remote!!

Great app. This app works great so I purchased the full one and with the extra features I'm glad I did. If anyone encounters the receiver not being found and you have your regular wireless router and the router for the direct tv box on and working I suggest you also try going into your main router. There is a selection in there to pick up broadcast or something and when I did that it found it.....

Configuring wifi. First thing I have to do is connect your wifi on your phone and follow the instructions to set up the receiver.

Liars not free. Read great reviews so I tried it... Downloaded it that part was free... You have to upgrade to full version "to choose your receiver" which you need to do BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT. Anyways they will probably delete this because mysteriously they don't have any bad reviews.

Horrible app. Downloaded app it asked to choose receiver and nothing appeared except to charge me more. Already pay them $155 per month. My contract up next week. Guess who is going to drop their “service”? Since att took over it’s been a disaster

Quit working!. This app WAS great, but it stopped working the second time I tried to use it. I followed the suggestions from the beginning about downloading lite first. Everything worked, so I paid for the full app. That worked at first also. I thought it was a great purchase, and was looking forward to using it. However, after the tv was turned off, and back on, the app indicated that a compatible receiver was not found and most likely my system doesn't support it. Really? I tried resetting my network and tried again, but it didn't work. What is the fix?

Just what I needed. App worked perfectly. I got it to test before I bought the full version. Set up and use were simple (make sure you're connected to your home wifi). Downloaded the full version minutes later and it works great too.

Very Cool!. Always have a problem finding the remote with the kids who leave it just about anywhere. Downloaded to try and found this "Free" version actually worked quite well. (Responsive and accurate.) Took another nano second to download the full version for .99 cents to access all the other features. (Full remote control, including a favorites list.) Highly recomend this remote and will save me a ton of time searching for the remote.

Junk. This app can’t find my Directv receiver when it’s right here in front of me. This app doesn’t work.

Has potential, fails to come through. App has zero capability to find the receivers on the network. With every use of the app you have to spend 5 minutes looking up the IP for the receiver (which Directv changes perhaps daily) before you can use it. This renders the app utterly useless. I am deleting this app and will not reinstall it unless developer finds a solution to this obvious issue.

Can't get my iPhone 5 to hook up.. I don't know if it's my iPhone or direct tv guy but my iPhone won't hook up. They said don't leave a negative review but there is no way to get hold of them. Two big negatives right there.

Ridiculous. Says you have to subscribe to some other service for it to work. Which is dumb I expected it to work as if I bought a second remote.

Genie. I wouldn't waste my time on this app you were trying to use it on a genie system unless it was the master receiver. The app would not connect to my receiver unless I upgraded to the full version. 😠

Ip address!. The IP Address is found by doing this: PRESS MENU ON YOUR REMOTE -Settings And help -settings -network setup Connect now Get connected Wireless Continue wait.... Press continue again Get connected THERE IT IS: IP ADDRESS AT THE TOP! :) hoped this helped, the info was so dumb on this. PS: it requires payment :-/
