Where’s the good books at.. Where are the good books at., these books are okay but they are boring. Love the lay out but just don’t enjoy the books that so many apps have, all the apps have these same books including the ones you have to pay, but they will offer them for free, and it is also hard to understand some of the people who were reading the books, so sorry 😐 I’m deleting the app.

Great value!. This app has allowed me to fill a lifelong desire to study the classics. I've "read" Thoreau, Plato, Aurelius, etc. and I have been thrilled with the quality of most of the recordings and grateful even for those that aren't as good because it is all volunteer-run. Frankly, it makes me think we shouldn't pay our politicians if volunteers can pull together this well ;)

Wonderful... No negative experiences. Reading some of the more negative reviews here, I expected this to be your typical "free" app -- reasonably ok but not great. Well I don't know how this negative review experiences happened. This app is GREAT. Wonderful selection, good readers, relatively easy user interface... this is my first time trying out audiobooks on my phone and I couldn't be happier! Thank you Audiobooks for sharing such a value-full app for free with all of us.

Audiobooks. Enjoy the large selection and opportunity to download so it doesn't use my streaming time. Use primarily on my commute, which is more than an hour one way. However, would like for more than three chapters to download at a time. I am often left with more than enough time to hear several more chapters but need to wait until I am able to connect to Internet again to download.

Haven't listened yet. When I go to email book to myself it freezes and I have to shut off my iPhone before it lets me into another screen. This discourages me from proceeding to listen to anything. The selection of classics is great. I'm looking forward to a road trip for long listening time.

Luv it but 1 caveat. I love listening when my eyes are too tired to read for themselves. A real person reads, so you get the benefit of vocal expression, which can also be a drawback as the reader's expression can vary from what your own interpretation would be. What I DON'T like is that an ad pops up between each chapter that you have to actively go in and close so that the next chapter can begin. It didn't used to be that way, and it can be inconvenient and aggravating to do so, especially if you have it set on a timer so it can read your little one (or you) to sleep.

As a Librivox fan, this is a Great App!. Very well done, ease of use & beautiful graphics, makes experience a pleasure. Any bad reviews given for readers, well those reviewers ought march on over to Librivox & volunteer, show us how easy it is. For myself, I have listened to enough & watched many diamonds in rough sparkle, given a little time. So, God bless those who give of their time to do for others. And Thank you for this little App making it easier, or when I'm not near my computer. 

Fantastic premise, definitely worth using. All the classics that have no copyrights or anything, and volunteers reading it which makes it completely free and just awesome. It's not perfect, the app itself freezes sometimes and won't let me hit the 30 second rewind button (although audio just continues with no problems) and its a little odd at first having to get used to new readers every chapter or two, but seeing how it's free, I really don't care. Try it, at the very least. P.S. I'm using a 4S

Much improved experience. This update makes listening to audiobooks a smoother experience. Everything loads much quicker, and the app no longer takes so much processing power that it crashes any other apps that you try to use, or crashes itself. It is easier to read the book description, now that it is included when viewing the basic info page. Keep up the good work. One thing I don't like is that you can no longer read the reviews that others have left, nor can you see how many reviews have been left. Also, I couldn't figure out how to leave a review. I would also like if we could see who the people are that read the book. I have readers I like, and might listen to some books, simply because I like the reader. I would have given the previous version of the app 2-3 stars, so this is a great improvement I'm experiencing. If I come across any other issues, I'll update this review.

Great App w/ Great Features!. After a busy night shift @ the hospital I like to come home and unwind with an audiobook. It helps me forget about all the crazy stuff that I've seen in the past 12 hours. I really love the timer option! That helps save battery on my phone. It also helps me keep track of the story because I will in dreamland within 10 minutes of turning it on!

I enjoy listening to audio books. I haven't listened to many in this app but have enjoyed what I've heard!

Really great. I use this app all the time. At first I wasn't sure about the selection because they are public domain books which one might think are old and boring. But thinking like that robs you of many great stories. I have recently been listening to Burroughs John Carter series and it's really engaging. I'm hooked & I love that I can listen to them anywhere. Thanks

Good for free, but.... While I'm loving having tons of classics at my fingertips for free I've noticed two major issues. Not being able to play/pause from lock screen (although you can using earphones with a button) and more importantly is that it causes horrid battery drain. I use it while I work (moving around so I can't charge) and it drops from 100% to 20% in just a few hours. And that's from a downloaded book. By contrast I can stream podcasts for 7 hours straight and it'll only drop by 30-40%. Really wish this could be improved, otherwise I love it.

Better than expected! Superior!. I had low expectations considering it's free, but all the great classics are here. I love audiobooks since i have a slight learning disability which keeps me from reading as much as I'd like. Now I can experience all the great literary masterpieces whenever I want. I haven't noticed any issues with any of the readers like others seem to have. I'm just grateful for this fabulous FREE app! I would've easily paid alot for this audio library. A+++

Great content! But few minor cons. I love the content for the price of this app, but the pause/play button doesn't always register my touch and is half hidden by a pop up screen sometimes. You won't find modern or super new books, probably due to copyright issues or royalties, but all of the classics are there and it's great. Love the timer function for listening as I try to sleep.

Love this app. I listen to my phone at work all day and this app is a nice change from listening to music. My only issue are with some of the readers, they can be hard to understand but that has nothing to do with the people who created the app. It's a must download if u do a lot of driving or have a crappy job.

Great!. I liked the app, but I wish there were more books by more authors. Also, the narrators' voices sound like a fork on a dinner plate.

Audiobooks. Well, the pace of life and trying to get to sleep at night has, in part, vaulted 'narrated' books to probably the highest use yet. Certainly, with this rise more funds has built up a new class of 'audio actors' I'd say. People like Frank Muller have taken reading to truly artistic and creative levels. Listen to Mr. Muller's Moby-Dick and be stunned at how Melville's epic of all time does attain genius levels of the human heart. Read in high school like most of us legend has Moby-Dick as long, boring, endless and inscrutable. Mr. Muller brought me to at least I'm on deck now and this book is over the top genius. The dramatic reading changed my life's view of that epic. Audiobooks can get you this with a tad less talented readers than Muller, but for free. Moby-Dick's profundity for free ? Few deals best that deal. Audiobooks is the open and publicly available route to this magic.

Love it!. I really enjoy this app! I've been using it for months, but have just finally decided to leave a review. Recently the app has been having a few issues (the white screen mentioned in other reviews) and only playing one "chapter" at a time, with no option to have them continue without hitting play again. Especially difficult when the screen stays white and you can't get it to start at all... The thing is, these are just bugs that haven't always been a problem, so I encourage everyone who's had problems and possibly deleted the app to reinstall and wait for an update that fixed these issues:)

Audiobook. Awesome!

Not bad. The interface works well enough and the downloading is virtually seamless. Not all of the audiobooks have good readers though. There is a vast range in quality; for instance one of the recordings of the jabetwocky was done by a Russian man you could barely understand who put absolutely no effort into what he was reading. On the other hand some recordings are particularly excellent, the invisible man for instance has a wonderful reader. Although, I know there are multiple versions of each book. My only complaints are a lot of the time one book is read by a multitude of people and the reviews on each book are pitifully unhelpful, but that's not even the app makers' fault. Anyway you can't really go wrong, everything is entirely free since it's all in the public domain, it's just a shame that some classics barely escaped the 1923 mark off like The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy.

Fast slide into unacceptability. I used to love this app. Sure, the downloads were slow and the ads annoying but those were the tradeoffs for access to much of the World's best literature. But over the past few days the app is taking forever to open, freezing randomly on one of the menu pages, locking the Listen button on my iPhone so I can't access the books I've downloaded - the list goes on and on. If I hadn't loved this app for perhaps a year, and didn't know it is capable of better things, I'd say it's a piece of garbage. Please restore it to its former functionality, kill the half-screen promo ads for games, and give me back the app I love. I've deleted and downloaded this app three times in two days, hoping that you've taken it in hand. Sorry, in its current configuration I'd give it a zero if I could.

Great for insomnia. The readers' voices lull me to sleep and if I do NOT sleep, at least I have something interesting to keep me from being bored. Some readers are CRAZY because you wouldn't think that they would want to read that type of book. Seriously, a few chapters of "Anne Of Green Gables" were read by someone sounding very much like Arnold Schwarzenegger!!

Great. Works awesome. Some good readers too.

Enjoyable and easy to use. As a fan of classic books, I really enjoy this app. The interface is simple and intuitive. The recordings are LibriVox recordings and so the readers vary in quality but nothing I find distracting. The sleep timer app is a handy addition. The only con is that some of the video ads run concurrently with the audiobook and cannot be shut off. You then have to rewind the audiobook to hear what you missed. Overall, a great app.

Audio Books. I really like the convenience of having an audiobook. I can listen in the car, or while doing dishes. The narrators are all rather good, and easy to listen to. I've been listening to Pride and Prejudice, and I absolutely love it! It was completely free, and though ads pop up on the screen, it never interferes with listening to the story. It's a wonderful app! :)

Ads playing over book on loading. Overall, I love the app, but often I have problems with an audio / video ad playing over / simultaneously with the book on tape when I first go into the app & the book I want to listen to. Can't seem to get one or the other to stop without exiting the app entirely & going back into it. For that matter, even when they aren't playing simultaneously, I can't seem to exit a video ad at all without exiting the program & going back in. Most apps with ads either offer only screen ads (no audio or visual ads) where there is an x or skip option to exit the ad or if audio / video ads are shown there is still an x (close) or skip option. This issue needs a serious fix or I will need to switch to a different app. As to other features or selection offerings, I can't add much feedback as I have only downloaded 3 classics & am early into my first (Dracula). I have narcolepsy & sleep apnea & while usually going to sleep is NOT an issue for me at all, I've had 3 months of continuous night-time insomnia, so I'm only using the app to help me sleep. It's working, but the book is so interesting, I keep dozing off, rewinding & playing again & again to catch what I dozed off in.

Reading by ear. This app may not be perfect but I love the old favorites and find myself enjoying them during unexpected opportunities to check in. Some of the readers are excellent. Others, not so much, but it's about the story.

Awesome!. I love audiobooks.

Audiobooks is a Wonderful companion!. I have enjoyed listening to these books so much. I've just had shoulder surgery and not having to hold my phone has been great. Reading is great but this is fantastic. The narration is FIRST CLASS and keeps you mesmerized, immersed in the story so much you hate to stop for anything. Bet you won't stop with one!

Great app! Was better before the update...now respond time is slow. Please fix this.. Great book choices. You can pick up where you left off last, rewind 30 seconds with one touch of a button, or set a timer to turn off audio books after specific time intervals ( great way to fall asleep and make sure the apps doesn't keep running and eat up your battery). I wish there were newer books available (most before 1923) but I gave it five stars because it's free. Really enjoy this app. Definitely recommend anyone get it!

Perfect for me!. I was looking for an audiobook program to help me relax and fall asleep each night, and this has been perfect. I love the timer, because I can be sure the book doesn't play all the way through after I drift off, making it easier to find my place the next night. Finally, an easy, relaxing, and enjoyable night time routine - bedtime stories are back!

Totally Awesome.. I love reading books, but listening to them just keeps my attention better. I have a hectic life and I can't always find time to read books, so I love how I can listen to these while cleaning around the house, at work, and even when I'm trying to sleep, some of the books just knock me out. I love all the classics and the timer for when I'm trying to sleep is wonderful. While I wish they had the actual book that I could read along with, I still enjoy this app more than any other free app like it. Keep up the good work:)

Narrators. I used to use this app, moved to a subscription service, and decided to come back today. 20 seconds in and now I remember what I didn't like: narrators voices can be like nails on a chalkboard, and the description of the book does not include how long it is. I will try other books by the author I wanted to listen to, but not so happy :-/

Very generous. The volunteers who do this sometimes speak badly 95 percent is very good all around 9.75 out of ten

Would be 4 outa five. Over all not the worst, only bad thing is some of the classics are Narrated by inconsistent and or disjointed orators. Sometimes it can really take away from the story. But it’s a good way to start out.

Very Handy. While on a road trip through five states we found ourselves tired of talking and listening to music. I was able to download this app thru my iPhone and then donwloaded Call of the Wild - Jack London. What a treat. This will continue to be one of my favoite apps. Probably the only complaint would be the change of storytellers for each chapter. The voices take a bit of time to readjust to.. like female to male, accent, speed of reading, softness, etc.

Best app 4 skool!!!!!!!!. I am assigned a lot of novels 2 read for h.w in skool and my first one was the prince and the pauper so I just downloaded this app and first of all it took pretty quick 2 load compared 2 other audio book apps and the voice is really clear!! I luv it it makes h.w. Soooo much easier 4 me... U can either just listen 2 it and do other things at once or just listen and follow along!!! It rox I advise anyone 2 get this!!!! I rate this app 5 star!!!! Enjoy!!!!

Not bad. I don't like the ads but it's a pretty great app. One thing I would change is give it a speed option. Sometimes they read to slow.

Too many ads + weird interface. To all you concerned about the quality of the audiobooks, they are public domain books read by volunteers, so they aren't always of the best quality. Some approach unlistenable, some are spectacular. I rated this app low because the earlier version of this app had a far better search interface and no unavoidable ads while you listen, which I find completely unacceptable. Otherwise, the app gets the job done.

Great App. I love it. It has a good selection of books and the readers are excellent.

Works great. Great app. Love listening to a mark twain novel before bed to clear my mind of worries.

Hit and miss but good overall.. It is impossible to rate each presentation separately, the individual reviews never download so there is no way to know what each story will bring. Some of the narrators are excellent and present high quality recordings. Some are simply terrible and listening to them is torture. There is no quality control as some novels have recording problems. There is no way to stop, start or pause with the screen locked. As these recordings are free, the advertisements are to be expected however the ads with sound are obnoxious and intrusive. As it is not possible to use any of the controls with the screen locked, having to stop in mid reading causes the presentation to switch to an add. That's where the loud music from "Walapop" or other ads with sound intrude. With some of these problems attended to, I would not have a problem paying for these recordings.

Absolutely on of the best app's of 2012!. Don't have time to read one of these classics for a class report or always wanted to enjoy one of these but haven't ha the time either.. The time is here these guys have generously provided a free way to listen to these books! It's positively amazing! 5 start all the way... This app has caught me up on dozens of books I've always wanted to read! A must have for high schoolers and college students too! Anyways enjoy the app! :)

What Fun!!!. As an avid reader, I did not think I would like listening to books. However, I just love it! I am able to multi-task my love of the classics with my time on the treadmill and household chores! And it leaves me plenty of time to read more recent works. This app makes catching up on all the classic works I've been wanting to read, easy! I thought the different narrators within each book would be a bother, but it's not; especially if there is one I don't enjoy - I know it's only for a chapter.

Great concept, but version has bugs galore!. I've been using this version for about a week. I like the ability to download over 3G and listen to my books while driving. However, I've had audio stop midway though the chapter for no reason, and the ads in the app fail to load and lock the app into a white screen. I'm currently in a white screen now while trying to load The Oregon Trail audiobook. I can forcequit the app, but it still locks up when going to books because of the way the ads are sctructured in the app. :-/ 2 stars for free ability to get classic books, but bugs and crashing is causing me headaches.

Awesome. This app is awesome! It really is absolutely free! They have like every classic book ever! I totally recommend it!

Book review. I have listened to a few of your recordings- one of the readers throughout most of the reading sounds like he actually is nursing a cold. I have to say that on the other hand most of the readers have refined qualities of diction and pronunciation. Also its very pleasant to hear a British voice going over some these old lines because of the tonal differences, it sounds like I stepped into Oxford for a brief moment. Some of the female readers are very clear and precise in pronunciation. Very much adhering to the written word. Wonderful experience all around. I wish that some readers would inject a little emotion into the words while it's not necessary to become effusive. Thanks again-

Great app!. This is a very enjoyable addition to my phone. If I had any complaints at all it'd be about some of the readers. I know these books are read by volunteers but maybe a little screening couldn't hurt. For instance, the reader for Moby Dick is excellent. The voice and enunciation are just right for audio books. But the reader for Sherlock Holmes, not so much. In fact I couldn't even listen to it. Which is a shame because the Sherlock Holmes stories are among my all time favorites. Other than that little inconsistency, great free app! Thank you for providing it.

Just what I wanted. Fantastic app - great way to go to sleep. Choose a book, set the timer and listen to a story as you nod off. Great selection of classics.

Narrators are too fast paced. I think the narrators lack character and are too fast paced. Also each chapter in one book is narrated by a different person an this interrupts the flow.

Great. I like it easy to use and nice functionality. Would be good if I could see the books in iTunes as then I'd know it had backed up and also put on cd to listen in car. (old car with only cd player) but maybe no apps allow that as stanza doesn't either. Would be a good function though.

Best audiobook app I've had!. Unlike other audiobook apps I've downloaded, this one is super fast. No lags and books download quickly. Nice interface and heaps of books. Love it.

Excellent!. Great free app,no weird voices or ads Etc, my only whinge is if I stop in the middle of a chapter,it doesn't replay from where I paused, but from the beginning of the chapter. No big deal I just make sure I remember where I am up to..other wise great app, very happy..

Thank you!. Where do I begin?! I've listened to several books, and have been thrilled with the quality of reading. It isn't easy reading aloud, and especially not easy reading aloud well. The classics interest me most, and although I read many of them in high school, revisiting them now is magic! I've actually listened to several books that didn't interest me in the least when I was younger. Truly, looking forward to some quiet time every day - or while going for a long walk with my dog - to listen to a few chapters, is a gift I give myself. Thank you for a job well done! You are greatly appreciated!

Good app. Lots of classics! Some very interesting philosophical literature. Some of the voices can be a bit annoying. I don't like how they can change from chapter to chapter.

Update. The app updated and now fades out then the iPhone locks. I was listening to them while I work but need to lock my phone as I put it on my belt or when driving in the car it becomes dangerous having to unlock the phone all the time

Love It. I love this app. I've been on holidays with plenty of free time and I've listen to so many books. The volunteers are fantastic. I love all the different voices of people around the world. It's gives so much more to the overall listeners experience.

Great selection. Very impressed with the books collected here. If you're thinking of familiarising yourself with some of the great works from history this is an excellent place to start.

Handy Dandy Life Saver. Wow! Really useful at those In between moments when I need a stimulating activity. Otherwise, it is all a bit small to be really useful.

Pretty good. The app is very handy, however if English isn't your first language I'd refrain from doing a voice over as it is harder to understand different accents considering it does take a long time and easy to become careless. Otherwise it's great

Love this app. I love this app. Very good selection. Some of the people telling the stories can be hard to understand. Has Sherlock Holmes stories. Most books are pre-1923. Has Shakespeare. Has children's books. Has lots of mystery books. One of the authors is Oscar Wilde. Has adventures of huckleberry Finn and adventures of Tom Sawyer. Has Moby Dick and Dracula.

Good audiobook app. This app delivers what it promises: a great selection of classic books read by Librivox volunteers. Most of the readers are surprisingly good. I have had a few crashes, nut by and large the app is reliable.

Intrusive ads. There are many better apps out there. This app is mediocre: ads are intrusive, bugs are numerous, and the search function needs improvements. Newly available public domain books need to be added regularly to the collection. This app has not been updated for years.

Good Audio Book app. Good stories. I like to follow author series, this app is set up well for this. Very easy to navigate and create your own library. I enjoy listening to a chapter as I relax with my eyes closed. Then I can visualize the events from the book. The variety of voices that narrate the chapters take a second or two to adjust, but has no impact on the writing of the story. My favourite so far is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I hear his voice in every story I listen to. I would recommend this app for folks who want to drift away into a good story.

Enjoyable!. I've been loving listening to addict for free, especially when on long car rides or drives. I've listened to Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility so far and looking forward to more. Love the voice stylization for characters and having something to keep my mind engaged while I drive.

Wonderful app. Each chapter is read by a different volunteer and sometimes whole books are read by the same person. Some readers are better than others. But overall, your getting a great app that allows u to listen to all the classics .

Constant ads waste my data and time. This has so many ads that are constantly popping up, it is such a waste of time. And it's not a quick ad that you can close out, it is a full video which takes a ton of cellular data. I like to listen to books while I'm on the road, but this app makes it difficult to download new books while out on the road.

A delight. Volunteers have come together to make it as easy as possible for us to listen to the classics! I listen to it driving and walking around campus, makes me take the longest route to class!

Very impressed so far. Had my first book located, downloaded and playing in under 5 minutes. Quality narration (although I know the Librivox library does vary). All for free? 6 stars if I could. Well done.

Great app!!!. There are so many great classics that I'm able to listen to while I'm working. It's really cool! Exactly what I was looking for. I've listened to 4 books and I've been happy with them. There are a few voices that I don't like, but most popular books have a few to choose from.

Terrific. I really love having these classics that I can listen to while I am walking outside. Also, at night I put one on and it puts my kids to sleep while I lay close to them listening also. I had to get used to different authors reading different chapters but it's so convenient that I don't care anymore!

Audiobooks. This is a fairly good program. There are a few narrators who are difficult to understand. As this is an entirely volunteer basis program, I accept that some people use it as a way to practice their spoken English. But there is a large selection to choose from. I find it useful when traveling in my car over a long distance.

Works great.. Liked the fact I could pre download, and there is a lot of public free audio books. Controls and functions are straightforward. Cons App crashes after a few hours of play time and you need to shut off your data or it will eat data running its commercials in the background.

Great App!. I've had this App for a while but never actually tried it. Last night I had to work the midnight shift by myself, so I started to listen to Swiss Family Robinson. It kept me entertained while I ran around all night. I will be listening to this every chance I get.

This is a great app to hear the some of the best books of all time. I can really appreciate the great titles that appear inside this app. I find it very easy to find what I want and the recordings are amazing. Really puts you inside the story.

Amazing app!!!. This app is amazing. It's a little bit slow while downloading but it's worth the wait! So far the books haven't skipped or stopped for loading. In other words, there is no glitching. The sound is great and I would recommend this app to anyone who enjoys reading!

Love to listen. Our whole family enjoys listening to the various classic books we have downloaded to the iPod with this app. It's even better that it is free.

The secret garden. I downloaded the book for free and did not know what to expect... I was very surprised and could not stop listening to it. I just love to listen to the story and the Deeper meaning. Great book and I hope to hear and read more by this author. I ca highly recommend it to everyone.

Great App. This app is fantastic. It's helped me get through many a boring work-day. There are occasional technical difficulties, but it seems most of them are being fixed. Overall, I'd say it's one of my favorites.

Great!!!!. For somebody that is barely getting back into reading and also works with a computer all day long it eyes get tired.. This is a new to look at reading... It is very good.. Thanks to the ppl that volunteer there reading the book for us to hear... Great app! And it's FREE!!!! Just download one book at a time...

Technical issues. I actually really love this app, but sometimes can be difficult because of loading issues, it's taken me longer than I would prefer to get through books. But that aside I do still enjoy the app and stick through the technical difficulties while enjoying so many great classics! :)

Amazing.. This is a wonderful app replete with the ability to download the books that you might listen to them even with airplane mode engaged. I cannot believe the quality and scope of this collection and am in love with this app.

Good. This is a very good and reliable audiobooks app. It has tons of classics that I need to read for school and listening along is a much better experience. If this app provided the feature of speed control for the narration, I think it would definitely be the best and most successful audiobooks app on the AppStore.

Wonderful.. Just be careful about downloading books off wifi, if you don't download them fully on your wifi you could have quite the bill towards the end of the month. Otherwise wonderful.

Great app!. Just wish there were more mainstream titles available in the public domain, but great selection for the price! Great app and listening to these free books makes time fly! Especially awesome when you get truly talented volunteer readers. :)

Perfect for the Price. Yes, it's not amazing. The video/audio commercials are extremely irritating, and sometimes the narrators are boring, but two thousand something something classics at your disposal? I'm grateful and I'll take it as it is. Thank you!

Good app. If you've always wanted to read classic, but don't have the time or they intimidate you, try audiobooks! They are easy to listen to when you're driving or walking to dog! Great selection and easy to use!

Great books!. If you love the classics or want to read/listen to them for the first time, then this is for you. I don't have much time to read these days but I can listen at work to some great works and it keeps me more focused throughout the day.

Wonderful. Audiobooks are usually more expensive than ebooks. Having the option of all of these free ones is fantastic. I've already sent the app to friends and family.

Great idea/app needs some work. Good choice in books. The readers are volunteers but still fine so far. Each chapter has a different reader; not sure if all books are that way. The App itself needs some work. It's not really free if you have to work for it, right? It crashes very frequently-for me about 5 times in one book. It is very slooooowwwwww. The adds are not a problem; sometimes it freezes up my whole phone. The app does have a sleep timer.

Love it!. The only thing I would say that isn't perfect would be the reader's. I am not fond of having them change every few chapters and they could breath a bit more life into the stories. Overall satisfied. Planning on purchasing the full version for 99 cents! Very useful app.

And we are back. I like that I can save books to listen to later without Wi-Fi. This is a huge bonus. Since this uses public domain recordings, there are quite a few horrible books... However, that isn't something that can really be fixed... All in all, I like it well enough.

Very very poor quality. Not many books. Then even the one you find , it crashes by a sudden white screen which doesn't go away on iPhone . On iPad white screen finally after 1 minute is changed to an advertisement . Go get Audiobooks for free with huge load of free books. This one is a pain. Even free is not worth it. Maybe on next versions if they remove this crash and add tons of free books and library access, then it's something but not now.

Fabulous app!. This app is terrific. The selection of books is amazing, and the downloading and audio streaming is seamless. We use it constantly for family car trips with our three daughters and we can always find something to listen to that everyone is interested in.

Enjoying So Far. I am thoroughly enjoying this FREE app. However, I've had the same issue as others (frozen screen), and have never had that problem prior to using. I've had to reboot my iPod a few times now. But, I'm also enjoying listening to the books for free, being able to listen online or off, no time constraints. Fox the bugs and you have an A+ app.

Not for just anyone.... Love this app! For some, the books ava. through this app may be too in depth. I would suggest it for lovers of bios, autobios, and special interest books. A higher level of reading. As most of the books are translated to English. If you aren't a walking dictionary, stick with some of the classics that are ava.

Love Hate Relationship. I love the interface, that it can be played in the background & that it downloads chapters as you listen so as not to hog memory. I hate that if you play it in the background and then reopen the app it freezes & shuts down, sometimes it freezes & shuts down my whole iPod.

Great books with tech glitches. I absolutely adore this app. It does freeze often, but i still listen every day, especially while doing chores... It makes the time fly by! I Wish the pause button were more responsive and that it would play chapters continually.

Love Audiobooks!. I really enjoy the opportunity to listen to free classics while I'm biking or walking. Most of the volunteers I've listened to have been first rate. I've particularly enjoyed some of the varied accents I've heard -- British, French, Australian and a variety of American regional accents. Thank you to all who have contributed!!

The best of the best classics. I have a list of classic books that i have on my bucket list. I prefer to buy and read the book for my personal library but love to use this app at night when falling asleep. Great stuff!

Good. I am enjoying listening to the classics but I would agree with another reviewer one quality reader per book please. At times it is hard to adjust to the different readers. I have listened to many books on CD and have never had more than 2 readers and that was only in a book that different characters were read by 2 readers.

Excellent. For free this is a wonderful app! While the changing voices can be a little distracting sometimes it is for the better. Also you can listen to books even when not connected to the Internet. Overall for free it is excellent.

Though it would be nice if the reader wouldn't do an introduction at the beginning of every cheaper, but I think that's the company's problem not the app itself, great selection...also my downloads have been slow so I would suggest to download one book at a time or you will be stuck in the middle of a book like me

Really amazing app!!!. This app is perfect for traveling, cleaning the house and just enjoying a break from turning pages. Will always recommend. I couldn't give this app the five stars I wanted to based on my above description bc Librivox has chosen way too many chapters read by people with thick accents. I shouldn't have to google a chapter synopsis bc the reader could barely speak English.

Convenience. This app has been thoroughly enjoyable for me and has ran well. I have a job where I'm allowed to wear headphones. It used to be I would listen to the same playlist all day, now I'm listening to my favorite classical works :)

Cool but pissn me off. This is a cool app works well and lets you do other stuff while listening to books. The only problem is it keeps turning into a (visual) Samsung add and not letting me get out of it to listen or do anything with the program so I'm rating it since it asked me to when I restarted to see it if it appeases the spoken book god.

Love it!. Definitely get it, especially if you like to read and learn, and don't have time and/or $$ to buy and read books. I use it when I work out and while driving :)

crashes, white/blank screen, HUGE headache. after the last update I can not download new books or even listen to the ones I already downloaded b/c it either crashes or goes to the white screen of death. I have closed the app., turned off my device and even uninstalled and it still does it. I don't think it is worth the headache until they fix it. when they do it will be a great app.

Kind of works. Some of the individuals who are recording these audiobooks don't have a very good reading voice. Some books are better than others. I can't get the app to download books to my computer. Every time I choose that option it tells me that the audiobook is been emailed to me, but that option doesn't work for some reason. If anyone has a solution for this it would be appreciated.

Better than store apps. Yes, it's somewhat annoying to see an ad once in a while but I would rather have that to keep the app up to date than a high price. I especially like the prioritized downloads. Would be nice if the app could jump both forward and backward by small increments. Reliable but no fancy stuff.

Useless. This app had no intention of playing any audiobooks. It tricked me into watching ads while a chapter downloaded. Then when the download was complete, the book wouldn't play. It seemed to be frozen. Unlike the pop-up ads which worked perfectly fine. This happened more than once with multiple titles. I only gave it one star because i couldnt submit the review without a rating. Wish i could have give negative number of stars for the time and battery power it wasted. Useless!

Petrosman. I downloaded this program quite some time ago, but, now in the depths of winter, have just now started using it. So far I find it very satisfactory. As time goes on and I listen to more of the books I'm sure that I will remain a fan.
