Tiny Planet Photos and Video App Reviews

Forgot about it, just rediscovered it. I had totally forgotten about this app, I was going through some old photos and remembered how much fun it was. While All the new Instagram and snap chat etc etc are technically impressive, this one rally is just lots of fun.

Love! Love! Love!. It doesn’t get any cooler. I love this app!

Amazing app!. It works very well. Everything is smooth. I thought videos were making the app laggy, but then I realized that the clip has to play it’s entire length before you can select a different option. After learning that, I have no complaints — just praise. It makes beautiful phots.

Crap app not worth it. Want a refund. It’s supposed to take 27photos and stitch together. This is crap. Doesn’t work and if it does no explanation as to how to use it. Useless.

Trash. Don’t buy it’s worthless. Plenty of other apps have better design and work better without lots of bugs.

TERMS OF USE??. Can the dev pls clarify the TERMS OF USE as far as our rights as users of this application + which license applies to the content we create using this app. Thanks

Video. I love the app and all but I downloaded it for the video but I couldn’t seem to find it and it may be my fault so can anyone tell me if it exists or not?

Incredible!. I’m a long time professional photographer. This is the most creative tool I own. I love that I can output 4000 pixel images and have so much control of the manipulation in real time or with images later. There’s a couple little hiccups with output occasionally that Inreprted to the developers and they were quick to respond to learn more. Even if they never get these fixed it’s the best creative app I’ve used to date. And even if you aren’t a pro photographer or only have a minimal interest in photography? This app is just fun to play with. Almost anything you aim the camera at makes you smile.

Froze Immediately. I opened the app and can’t get out of the camera screen. It just froze up.

Long time favorite. I think this is one of my first photo apps I bought. It has been a go to for years. The extras pack is worthwhile, and I look forward to using it for years to come.

Interesting App, only by name. Just bought this app, but no matter which photo I use or feature the app crashes!!! arrrrgh!!

Doesn’t seem to access all of my pics. I can’t seem to get the app to work with all of my pics.

Customer service took 7 weeks to reply. I bought this app as well as the expansion pack and the expansion pack doesn’t work so I contacted them. It took nearly 2 months for a reply so I gave up. The reply simply said what I “should” see on my app (his quotation marks) which did not exist, and he said there was obviously a problem with it loading. That’s all. No solutions, no fixes, other than deleting and reloading and paying again?There are no refunds, no obvious instructions on the app. I don’t like to give bad reviews because technology has its glitches but it’s annoying to simply get a shoulder shrug after 2 months. Glad it was a cheap app.

Pretty Good App. This app is cool for photos and like the effects you could do with them. The one thing y’all could have done better was make it so you can import video clips from your camera roll. Other than that, I think this app is great

Useless, almost?. You don’t have control over the image, you have automatic settings you have to sit and wait through as they animate 100% to show you what it does. I literally deleted the app 3minutes after downloading it.

Best on the planetI. It's the best of the tiny Planet apps by far and I have used all them at the AppStore. I just don't understand why a great number of photo apps don't save in Tiff format for maximum resolution. The 4000x4000 option is okay, but it saves in jpeg only. On the positive side, it has a better choice of tool sets then other such apps. A diagnosis tool would be useful.

Trap, waste of money. Kinda mad there was no indication/information that you can’t do ANYTHING to edit the photo. It’s literally just uploading a photo and twisting it. Obviously it looks terrible and further editing is necessary. Perfect example how the company mislead the customer.

Sunsets. This app is a lot of fun. You can only do a handful of things with it, but those few things make a great result. Try it with sunsets.

Creating abstracts. It’s so much fun to take a regular picture of the world we are used to and twist and turn it into something abstract and amazing. It alters my consciousness and blows my mind.

Crashes every time trying to upload 360 degree pano. I just downloaded this and was trying to open a jpg that Was a stitched together 360 degree pano taken on my dji spark. Every time I try to open the pano image from my iPhoto library it crashes. Don’t give me my money back just fix it. Google SNL keenan williams fix it (seriously). And then FIX IT!! Thanks.

Good app. Great app, would be nice to have landscape orientation on iPad and ability to stitch photo?

OK. But you should be able to stop the motion where you choose and save your photo as such.

Export crashed app!!. Cool App, too bad your amazing pictures are stuck in the app!! Cool pics go into the gallery. But if you try to export the app crashes. Boo hoo. Back to Theta+ which is free and works. This had more cool options, but with no export, its junk. :(

Issue with the app. Don’t like it It doesn’t work for video

Does not take 360 tiny planet photos. This app produces photos that kind of look like a tiny planet photo but they’re not the real thing. Rather than stitching photos into a 360 and mapping that to a tiny planet, this is just a photo filter that takes regular photos and makes them look kind of “tiny planet”-y.

Recommend. It is so fine.

Wouldn’t recommend. App stitched together low quality version of photo with minimal export quality. Ruins the photo and you have to spend extra money to use other functions of the app. Would not buy or recommend to anyone. Find a suitable alternative.

A great app . . . But . . .. This app is great, however it can only use still photos as input. If one could use video input with video output this app would be totally amazing. I would gladly pay extra for that feature!

App Froze up on me. I was trying to get to my picture roll, now the camera mode and the entire app froze up on me, no way to get it back to beginning. Please fix this bug 4/3/21

Tried to like it, but app lags and doesn’t export any videos or images. Reviews were great until I bought it and the extra features... the extra features aren’t that special and you can’t even export any of your videos to your phone or save anything. Very disappointing.

Doesn't work. Everytime I try to open the equirectangular photo the app freezes and shuts down. I would like a refund for this non-functional app

Not video. Can’t create video planets from ... videos. Only photos.

Cannot edit photo. Once you pay for the app, you have to pay again to buy a “starter pack” that lets you edit your photos.

Amazing App. A very cool photo app. You need the right photo for maximum coolness though. Just make sure the sides line up roughly and the effect will work. Normal looking photos can turn out very dramatic - as in the grass/tree/sky photo above. I wish the picture generated was larger than 1000x1000 pixels. But maybe they'll update that in a future release. Even without Hi-Res though, you'll love the dramatic and cool pics you can create with this app. Please developers, create a no-ad Hi-Res version and I will buy it!!

Superb.. So much fun. Can't believe it's free. Best pics are those that have a horizontal line right through the pic, like the horizon. Check out the pics tagged #tinyplanet on instagram

just a 'polar coordinates' filter. Disappointed - Yes, I should have looked more closely before buying... assumed it would allow me to take several adjoining photos in-app. Also, really don't appreciate buying an app that requires further purchases to unlock 'full' features. Something barely mentioned in the description. Slightly sneaky and unnecessary. Otherwise adequate.

Love it But it could be better if it worked!. Hi Peat here, How can I save images to my camera roll? I updated to latest version and now cannot save to camera roll. I have but an iPhone 4, 16g of memory, 4 gig of data per month limits. Also love that nadir to zenith nadir movie concept. But it does not send to email or message. I will post this in the review section of the app and give it a one star rating till that constraint is lifted. <8peat<8

It is what it is. Not bad if you just want to make still images. Video output is very low resolution which in 2020 is unforgivable, also the add on pack suggested it would allow high res output which only works on still images it turns out so feel a. It misled there. It would also be nice to not have to wait for the animation to cycle through before selecting a different one. If the app could improve on those things I’d give it a much higher rating.

Don't waste your money... Not like the nexus app and doesn't take 360 photos just bends a "normal" photo and not even panoramic.

Rubbish. Only let's you use one photo. Tiny Planet images need a very wide angle photo to look any good. You will need another app that lets you take panoramas to get anything decent out of this. All the example photos are made from wide angle photos too which is kinda false advertising.

Doesn’t work. This app doesn’t work very well very disappointing. The take photo feature doesn’t actually work and it’s slow and lags while it loads what the photo is meant to look like. Would love a refund, bit of a waste!

Good. This is a great ap, pictures are clear, and processed really fast, 2 thumbs up!

Good but.... Great app and creative but an extra .99 To add rotation and not get much else is abit of an under justified price tag -and an unfortunate ploy for money... For this reason i give it a low rating. Its otherwise an Incomplete or overpriced additional purchase pack.

Fun app. I’m having a lot of fun with this app lots of room for creativity. I would have given it a 5 star if I could save my work to my photos/camera roll I’m able to send it everywhere on the planet but not to my photos. If there is a fix please let me know.

Its Alright.. It's alright, not a lot of control on the picture, actually there is none. You just choose your picture or take one and then the picture is generated. I hope for some more improvement because the competition will probably take all the new costumer looking for a planet-like pictures. The competitor have live-preview and control on the rotation and fading. Hope to see those implanted here.

5 Star. Awesome, unique, fun

Great app. I really like this but there are a few things I would add. When you are in the picture changing setting, and push back button - it goes back right to the beginning of the app instead of going back to CAMERA ROLL. There should also be some sort description of what works good.

Way Cool!. With the right photo, you get some stunning effects. This app works best when you have a clearly defined horizon with a couple of standalone objects above it.

Perfect app. I am a photographer and i use the adobe photoshop to edit my photos, but sometimes no time to do all that. I sometimes use my phone to take a panoramic shot. This app is perfect to create little planets. It does the work like my adobe software.

Fun app but you don't get full resolution unless you pay more. Fun app. Lacks instructions so you'll have to do a lot of guessing and testing. You don't get full resolution of pics so you get grainy and choppy pictures unless you pay extra. Kinda expected to get a high res version if I had to pay for an app.

Incredibly underwhelming and uneditable. I own an actual 360 cam and regularly use the full features with the included app(instastudio). I thought I was buying a similar app adapted to the iphone camera format and thought the price tag was honest... Until I tried actually playing with the features, which I would've had to unlock for the same price as the actual app. 🤬 Overall, it wouldnt'be been expensive and I would've thought the price honest if the developpers had been upfront about it from the get go. This is exactly the kind of dishonest/petty marketing tactics that are seriously turning me off a lot of photo software on the app store. Seriously underwhelmed.

This is $1.98 not 99c. This 99c version is for the 'low res' version. Prepare to be stung with an in-app purchase of another 99c for high-res results. Pretty poor form if you ask me.

Tiny planets is a world of fun!. I love this app. It is loads of fun to play with and very easy to use. I’ve tried another similar app but found it more cumbersome. If you’re thinking of printing your creations, it’s worth upgrading to the higher resolution version.

Stuck. Just downloaded the app and it asked me to right away get thr “unlocked version” - 1.39$ so I went ahead and did that. Afterwards, I cannot seem to figure out how to add the existing image or take an image with the app - useless. Not intuitive? Black button is there and nothing happens…

:). For someone like myself interested in the outdoor wilderness photo taking this app is perfect, different from anything I've seen before, but this app will only work with outdoor photos indoor look abnormal. Overall happy.

Lots of fun.. The app has a specific use for horizon pictures but if you're willing to get a little abstract it can be fun too. Saving and then retwisting the images provides interesting results.

Meh. It's so-so, you'd have to get the right picture to make it work, maybe 1 in 50 out of a camera roll would work and it has to be landscape otherwise the results are just weird. Not worth the dollar

Pretty Bad 👎🏻. This app is un-editable. The 3 option is fix and editing tools are no help at all. And you can’t even edit a video.

360 camera on my phone. I was looking to fake that 360 camera look from my regular phone photos, and this is the closest app to doing that I’ve found so far. Looking forward to seeing how this one evolves. Could we ask for even better 360 camera emulation options? Still, good value here already :)

So far so good. I’ve been using Rollword but it doesn’t play nice on my iPad. This is much better.

Super Fun App!. My friend introduced this one to me & her images are incredible! What I've produced are really neat texture images that remind me of working in an actual darkroom. My next step is to print an image . . . It's lots of fun. My only reason for 4 stars is that I need a bit more time to play to achieve the images I desire. Wonderful tool for any visual person!

Love it but.... It's a great app and worked awesomely. I had no complaints about it, but since the last update, it refuses to do anything. The loading screen appears and then the app will crash. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it and it still crashed. So i deleted it again and re-reinstalled it, but to no avail. So, I'm really hoping for an update that will solve the issue.

Solid 5-Star App. If you are into unique photo tools you can't get by without this one. I went for the pro version without hesitation after seeing the amazing results this little app can produce. Get it now, experiment away, then post your results to Instagram!

Fantastic app!. Love this app! Really addicting! Certain types of photos work better with it- but you'll figure it out as u play around with it. It can turn a boring picture into something really interesting

It's cool and fun. I just purchased this app and i really like what you can do with it, a lot of shots you can manipulate and make it look awesome.. My ONLY complaint is that i wish we could manually rotate the planet or rabbit hole!! Other then that i recommend this app for anyone as long as your using it for nice shots and not selfies.

Fun!. I'm a sucker for photography apps and this one is one like several I have that I'll use sparingly, how many pictures of spherical landscapes does one need? But I like it a lot and I think it delivers on everything the description says. *Watch out when using pictures that have a frame around them, you'll end up with a lollipop looking thing instead of a sphere ;)

Amazing. I live this app. You can create works of art, or goof with it; and you don't need to be smarter than a fifth grader. Best buck I've spent in a while. Turns any pic into something really interesting or beautiful. It is better if you belong to a picture sharing site like Instagram or Piictu to share your creations with others.

iPhone 4 5.1.1. Works great on iPhone 4 version 5.1.1, no crashing for me. App is fun, doesn't produce professional quality (obviously) and is tricky to get the right effect sometimes. Sharing options are kinda weird but it works. Yea it is pretty slow when it comes to processing but chill out, we don't need everything to be fast paced all day everyday. Great app.

Fun fun fun. Sure, I'd love the ability to fine-tune images more, & a faster way to preview pics would be very nice (a feature that Decim8 has, for example). But what it does this app does very, very well. Easy interface, lots of fun.

Works Great. This app is wonderful. Works perfect. I had more success with using panoramas I made rather than just normal pictures. Also leaving 1/3 of the top being sky seems to help with good results. Another trick is to make sure the left and right side of the picture match up. Haven't had any issues with the ads that others are mentioning.

Step by step guide. How to: 1. Download google street view app from AppStore 2. Take a 360 photo with street view camera and save to camera roll 3. Open Tiny Planet and choose to import a photo from camera roll 4. Select the 360 panorama and pick your effect!

It's okay. I was expecting something much different than what I saw in the reviews and examples. Majority of the photos I used came out fairly pixelated and just all around didn't look good. I tried using images off of google to test if it was just photo quality, but the creations remained the same. Just mediocre. Nothing super special about it. Hopefully I can find some sort of use out of it. So far, it's been just "okay. "

Simple to use with good results. I paid for the higher resolution which is a nice option. Would like to see a pan and zoom with preview for use with photos from iPhone's photo library. Add the pan & zoom along with a live preview with panorama when using the camera and I'll give this app 5 stars.

Awesome App.. This app does exactly what you want. Something that usually took some time on my computer done on my phone is remarkable. It's great to see that the app is being updated and that improvements are being made. That icon has to be changed though. It doesn't show the quality in which this app is. It's looks toy-ish.

Creative and tons of fun!. This app is great! I personally love the Rabbit Hole effect. It's crazy when you take a picture of a city from a birds point of view then warp it into a rabbit hole. This App is a must have for all you photography people out there that want to have a little fun with their photos.

Makes some neat stuff. I figure if you're looking at reviews for Tiny Planets then you also play with HDR and whatnot and take too many pictures on your iphone. Well, good. You got another toy. I tend to run about every landscape I take through this if I have enough idle time. Pictures in the woods work well also. I like to use this, then put some lens flare on, then run it through pic grunger and I have some nice, unobtrusive homemade wallpaper. It's fun. Get it.

Addicted. Interface could be looked at. Issue i have is a when you chosse a image in your camera roll and then dont add a effect but say "back" it goes back two steps to the app home screen and not the photo album, its very frustrating! Steps should be - home - photo album - effect selection screen and when u click back steps should be - effect selection - photo album - app home screen.

More fun than I expected.... My fiancée started sending me weird but cool little pictures and told me about this app. I wasn't really expecting anything spectacular. I mean, after all, you're just seaming up a swirled photo... right? After a couple of really sloppy attempts, I found it was getting easier to pick shots that really REALLY worked well with this fun little program.

I don't write many reviews... But I'm writing one for this app. It's pretty fast, a million times easier than doing it in Photoshop too! I've already made a few really cool photos.

Excellent/Fun App. I'm obsessed with this app already. it's easy to use, without having to sit through instructional videos. It provides exciting creative options to edit my photos. I highly recommend it!

Excellent app. This app warps your pics into concave or convex circular designs. While not all pics result in a true "tiny planet," practice will quickly tell you which pics work best. Pics with strong lines and geometrical shapes turn into weirdly beautiful abstracts. This app has been the most fun app I've purchased recently. I would highly recommend it. I recently won a local photography contest with an image that was partially processed with the Tiny Planets app.

Love the app..... You should make an update, That when you finish your photo and go look in the gallery it tells you what was your last rotation. I get easily confused. Also edit them in another folder before they go to the gallery. Thank you.

Great Work!. This is my one-stop-shop when comes to creating images like these. I'm a photographer and it used to take some time to do this same effect in Photoshop! Match this app with my 4S iPhone = killer image. Keep up the good work and updates.

Works for me. I have gotten some really interesting results from using this app. One has to pick the right image and know the composition is suitable for what the app will do to it. It takes some work to get a proper image and use a combo of apps to get my finished works 99% of the time. If you have a strong creative streak this good to have in the photo tool box.

Great app, when you need it.... Not the sort of photo editing app I use all the time, but when I do use it, it's great! Aside from making planets, I also use it for editing some of my light paintings; breathing new life into the photos that have come out less then desirable, Tiny Planets transforms them into exciting abstract light forms. I would like to see an option to rotate the photos before transformation. It's frustrating when You have to use another app to rotate photos just to use Tiny Planets. It wouldn't be a hard feature to add to the next update. (hint hint) But I otherwise love the app! Thanks programer dudes!

Fun app but could use some features.... ...like an option for blending the edges like Photoforge2 has. It would also be useful to have an option to revert the photo back to original state so I can try the other Tiny Tube without having to go back into my camera roll. Other than that... Great!

FUN app. I like that the tips are readable now - previously they appeared too briefly. Nice app for creative effects. With practice you can anticipate which shots will work well in the app. Plus you can use your tiny planets /rabbit hole pix as part of abstract/layered images in other apps.

Love this app!!!. The results are always a surprise. Not every image you put in is going to be usable for your idea, for instance round objects like mandalas or a single round flower don't really come out that well- But- I still have had a couple that looked like some futuristic space station! Architecture comes out fantastic. Great results. Some people are complaining about the speed. It is really slow at high resolution but you can change the settings and make it process faster. I have it a little above mid range. It's still slowish but acceptable. If there is something really stunning I can reprocess at a higher resolution. some of the images would make amazing prints. I haven't had any problems with crashing. Thanks for such a great app

Worth it. Definitely! It's a lot of fun. Haven't had any trouble with it crashing. If you have, try double clicking your home button and quitting your apps running in the background. This always helps me when I'm having trouble with apps crashing.

Thanks for the fix, just 1 more question.... Thanks for taking care of the non-camera issue so quickly. It works great now! Just one more question- I paid for an upgrade already, but it wants me to buy it again. How do I get my upgrade? If you can fix this, you'll have that 5th star for sure!

Swirl feature?. Bought the app, played with it, was disappointed it seems to have been free previously. Wanted more options to impulse bought the extras, looking forward to effects such as the center swirl ive seen people using but its not there? Perhaps i am mistaken, but i thought id have this ability and im not very pleased, the in app purchase features ate quite lame and should be included in the original purchase price. Good App. Overall I think it's a good app. It works much better with panorama photos as described, and also pictures of a beach, lake, even landscape type photo. It also could benefit from an 'undo' button, or a way to scroll through pictures instead of going back through all of the processes.

Obsessed!. I love this app and have hours of fun editing my photos. Highly recommend getting the bonus pack as that's the only way you'll be able to refine your pictures beyond the standard edits the app provides.

Awesome Sauce. Both portrait and landscapes work well with this. Works especially well with panoramic photos if you have Pano or another photo app. Perfect for Instagrammers too! (BTW, I'm weegeeben on Instagram, check out my tiny planets there!)

Lots of creative potential!. I love this app, especially since you can choose "tiny planets" from your library. My only issue is the mediocre resolution and it's a bit slow at times, especially for its resolution output. But, I've had a wonderful time playing with this app- the only limit(s) to its creative potential is your own, as far as editing the results and picking the initial image for transformation! I'd buy it for 2.00!

Poor stitching. This app does such a poor job emulating what apps like 360 Panorama do well - actually capturing an image all the way around you. This app always fades / masks out the edge of the photo making trees, buildings, whatever look so unnatural. Every 1 out of 50 photos will end up looking half decent. Oh yeah, the UI is pretty gross to look at.

Uniquely Cool!. I found that once you play around with the app and learn the fundamentals of how it actually works,it's a really cool twist to run just the right photos through. I found myself hunting down "just the right" Tiny Planet image. Go ahead and see for yourself! From the professional photographer to the simple backyard hobbyist. It's fun and very easy to use. Great tiny planet app. Great results for the price even better with the in app purchase upgrades, so please don't cry about $3 spent because it's sad just really sad. Anyhow drop a dollar and give it a try I'm sure you like it. That's what she said.... ;)

Good & fun app!. I've seen people use it in many ways and if you're creative you're in for a ride. However, I hope the app adds future improvements regarding the size. Something like a cropping feature would be nice. Other than that, it's perfect for its purpose.

What a wonderful world. This app is fun but after having it for a while I realize that it takes up. Lot of space on my iPhone. I would like to delete the pictures I have in my gallery. Can someone tell me how that is done? I like this app but I may have to delete.

Not as versatile as Tiny World. I don't like this as well as the earlier version, called Tiny World. With the older version, you could see what the picture would look like and had a lot more control. Maybe you still can and I'm using it incorrectly, but if so, it's not intuitive and I can't make it do what I want it too. It seems like you take a photograph and the app turns it in to a Tiny Planet - I want to be able to determine how it looks.

Would love to be able to create higher resolution files. I us this as a tool for photo collages and am being asked to print larger and larger versions of my pieces. Would live to be able to create larger images (files) for larger prints! Thanks so much!!

Kinda lame.. I got suckered into buying this when I first got into the whole "iphoneography" movement, but ugh. I'm mad that I paid for it! It does what it says but it doesn't give you much control over how the image ends up and there are other editing apps out there that can produce similar effects. I have no need for this as a standalone app. Save your 99 cents!

Fun, cool, pretty, sometimes hilarious. Great for a free app. The ads are so unobtrusive, and the app is easy to use - all you do is select a photo or take a photo and then select planet or tube and wait a moment. Especially fun when you do landscapes with familiar landmarks, and funny as **** when you have your friends in the picture. Love this!

Big fan of tiny planet. Really enjoying this app, but probably not exactly using it as it was intended. Love the results though! Think it would be 5 stars if the amount of twist could be controlled by the user, and if the processing could be run in the background. Otherwise, pretty great... Keep it up!

LOVE. This app is amazing.... thing is you need to crop your picture right or idea panoramic shot in order to make it look the way u want. People need to read more info on tiny planet, and tips. I have gotten perfect pictures I have edited and sold, can't put whatever u want in anything and expect exactly what u want to come from it if u don't know what you're doing.

Unique effects. Found out about this through Instagram and love it. It doesn't look right on every picture, but I've gotten some really cool perspectives from this tool. Definitely a great app for your photographic arsenal.

Almost there!. It's a really great app for making your pictures look really awesome!! But always when I try to make to make a photo into a planet there is a dot and a line coming out of the picture. This Really ruins the picture. I will be completely satisfied if the makers made a feature on the picture that allows you to choose the spot you want to be in your island or tunnel. Yeah but I really enjoy this app! Just please fix it to my suggestion! Thanks!
