Radar Glitching. Please fix the radar it is very inconsistent at times

Not Available in my Location???. Why is this app no longer available in my location? This only happened after the update on 6/2!

Update on radar 😡. I have had this app for years. I’ve always used the radar to see how a storm was going to move through the area. It no longer works. As soon as I hit the play button all rain disappears. Please fix this or go back to the older version.

First alert. Had been using accuweather for a while glad to be back. Need to add rainfall totals on hourly forecast. Keep up good work and be safe in good ol mempho

Review.. Very up to date. My husband and I both use this app. We are able to be prepared for every minute of the day. Very informative.

Faulty app. I have a very new phone and keep my apps updated. This app is so frustrating! If you go to watch the last news show, most times it will begin at 14 or 21 minutes into the news. It constantly dumps you off or if you are lucky enough to actually get it to play, it will stutter and repeat lines. Total waste of time. Also, if there is an alert about any weather, yes, even sunny, it won’t let you close that alert. You have to click on it to do anything. Which usually makes you have to log out and then back in if you want to look at anything else.

Sad :/. When opening the app lately I get a notice that says this app isn’t available at my current location. Until now this was the most reliable weather app I’ve ever used. Now I can hardly get it to work. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Bad App. This weather app used to be great, now it’s trash.. it’s never consistent and doesn’t give you a clear forecast. It has gotten my hay wet more than what I like, so I don’t recommend it at all!

Too cluttered. Since the last update very time you pull up the radar it’s overly cluttered with alerts and warnings. Map is so cluttered you can’t see the rain. You can go to the menu and deselect all the items you don’t want but you have to do that EVERY TIME you want to see the radar. RIDICULOUS !!! I’m in Memphis I don’t care what the tropical alerts are or many of the other alerts! GOTTA FIND A NEW WEATHER APP!!!!

Poor service. After an automatic update, the system will not run the radar loop. I have to back out, close it, reopen and relaunch each time. I have tried to delete and reload it, but it still doesn’t work. I used the weather channel app, it has the same radar, just not able to set notifications and color on it.

My review. I love first alert weather this app is amazing

Great app. Love the app, but don’t like getting notifications every 3 minutes for a thunderstorm especially at 3 AM. I have to turn off notifications to get any sleep

Update. You’re latest version makes me cancel the app then reopen it for the predicated forecast. It used to be a great app. It’s very glitchy now for the forecast and protected forecast.

Why mess with everything????. Why did you have to change the icon on the phone???? With the big 5 on the icon before, it was easily recognizable even in the bright sunshine. Now I have to hunt for a vague blue icon like all the other blue icons. Brilliant idea!

Weather. Why don’t weather people look outside before they forecast current conditions. Sun shining yet forecast is clouding & rain. So frustrating!

Latest update stinks. The latest update took away the ability for me to get notifications no matter where I’m at. Now I can only get locations based on my home. I was able to get locations based on where my kids live, Charlotte and another area close to Memphis, not anymore. For some reason now I don’t have Ron Childers telling me what the notifications are I just get a bar notification that it opens up to a video. I do not like this update and I think it is a backward step for your app. I will be looking for another app to use for my local weather.

Overlays reset. The overlays are just annoying, and now with the last update in October 2021, the overlays all reset and turn themselves back on every time the app gets closed out. They no longer keep their settings. Bad app programming and design.

Weather reports. This is the only app I use for accurate weather reports. And that sounds like an oxymoron but from Memphis to Savannah to Destin it works and is accurate

5 star. Weather personalities are top notch at WMC5. The high standards of the Dave Brown era continue with Ron Childers and company!! Even though I now live outside television station coverage area, I still use WMC5 Weather app!

Location issues. Keeps saying the app in unavailable in my location. I have to refresh a couple and it finally comes up. I’ve been using this app for years without any problems. Love the app, but must have a bug from the last update.

Update a couple of days ago and now it won’t open.. I’m disappointed.

No weather in US. Your weather app has been an important part of my daily information source. So many days lately, your weather radar map shows NO weather at all over the US. That’s why I have had to depend on other sources for my weather fix.

No Audio??. Love the radar feature, and sometimes want to take advantage of the videos about the upcoming forecast. However, lightly, while there has been audio for the advertisements, there is no audio for the actual video forecast. What is up with this??

Need to fix glitch. I have used this app forever, and since last update it keeps telling me it’s not available in my area. I didn’t move.... I finally uninstalled.

Too many alerts. I liked this app better when we only got alerts for bad weather. All day long this thing sends me alerts. It’s too much. I just want bad weather alerts.

Updated today 5-8-19 and will not load. Just updated your app on my iPhone and now when I select to open, it opens to normal page and then closes!

Broken after last few updates. The latest updates cause the app to not load or load extremely slow. Used to love this app now it's crap. I just want an app to open and look at the weather and radar not one to watch the latest video. Keep those in the other app

Too many alerts and ad videos. Way too many “alerts” is everything alert worthy?

Often does not work. Used to work great, now often has network error when trying to use. Especially does not work when there is bad weather and many people are apparently trying to use it, gives network error. I end up having to use another app for weather.

Glitchy. I’ve use this app for years and I loved it. The last three or four weeks I can’t get the radar to work properly it flashes on and off. They seem to be having some problems with it.

Alerts. The alerts aren’t accurate. The last few times we’ve had tornado warnings (including now) they’ve only come up as tornado watches. I use this app because most of the time I’m not to where I can watch local news but it’s useless if the information isn’t accurate.

Weather App. Action news 5 has by far the best and most up to date weather app around. Down Load it today.

Download this NOW. With the tornado outbreaks that passed through March 31 this app kept me updated with breaking updates. Even if my phone was idle on a table, Ron Childers’ voice alerts you when you need to pay attention. We’ll done channel 5 team! Appreciate all you did last night. 🙏💕

Golf group. Our group always checks First Alert before setting up a game!! It never lets us down.

Ads. Too many ads ! Hard to get around without accidentally touching and activating the ridiculous ad.

Very pleased.. Not sure how I missed this app when looking for a weather and radar app. Love the dark color, radar is clear and enlarges well. The info is clear. It is a keeper. Thank you for a great job

On the money!. Keeps you updated especially during severe weather. A must have app for the entire Mid-South!! Highly recommend this app for everyone!! Never failed me yet!!

Apps needs improving. I really like The Action News 5 weather app. But open the satellite map is not updating. Also, often the app will not work on my phone or my smart tv. The videos are not updating in a timely manner either. There needs to be some sort of update to fix these bugs.

Crashes. The app is great until you attempt to change the radar settings (like if you just want to see clouds on the radar map) it freezes and crashes every time I try it.

This app is terrible. All it wants you to do is click on their advertisers . Pretty disappointing seeing I installed it after the power went out at home. You would think if channel 5 was really concerned about our well being they would not spam you to death! Will be uninstalling and stick with AccuWeather.

Tim. Why do I not have sound when watching video on iPhone 4s. So far everything else seems to be fine.

Alerts not for my location. Not sure why my alert videos are from ark/ la when I have my location set for s Florida

I can't delete this off my phone fast enough. While this app does have decent functionality you would never know it by the HORRIBLE, I mean HORRIBLE user interface. I don't know who over at Raycom Media, Inc. approves these designs, not only with the iPhone apps, but the website as well, but they should be FIRED. I wouldn't recommend this app at all. There too many alternatives in the app store that are both free and paid that provide the same functionality. The news and information that you provide is quality, but the digital mechanisms for delivering that content are horrid. Start over and take pride in your work next time.

Won't work anymore. This app needs an update every time I try to look at the weather I have to pray the app will stay open long enough for me to get a good weather report most of the time it just shut me out of the app it only started doing this when it was updated last

Best Local Weather. Thank you so much for giving Memphis their weather and news service we need! I reccomend getting this app if u r in the Memphis or north east Arkansas regions!

CRASHES!!!!!. Can't look at anything, it won't load for CRASHING, please fix!! I truly love the weather app before it was updated, and depend on it a lot for weather tracking especially when storms, and winter weather are a concern!! Please fix ASAP, thank you!!

Wonderful. It tells you everything you need to know about what's going on hourly and during the week it alerts you about any severe weather.

Commercials. Too many advertisements and with first one a full page add for a private school.

Terrible App. You say your radar gives you 5 minutes before all the other stations and you can see the same thing on the app. If you can figure out how to see the radar that might be helpful. Got to be one of the worst weather apps that is available.

NO CLOSED CAPTIONS. It’s impossible to find the Closed Caption option on your weather & news videos. This is a GREAT DISSERVICE to the hard-of-hearing & deaf people in your viewing area.

Not liking this update. I've use the Action News 5 Weather app for several years and have found it helpful. I really liked the ability to get a quick overview of current conditions and the 10 day forecast. This new update makes all that much less user friendly. The graphics are difficult to read with the low contrast text over a textured background. It might be attractive on a big screen but, on my phone out in daylight, the text is invisible. I'm going to have to check to see if the other local stations still have an app that will give me the easy, quick information I want without the visual clutter.

Deleted. It constantly wants me to turn on my Bluetooth when I open the app. Such a silly little thing to have to keep closing out when I have everything turned off. So I just deleted it and will use something else.

Great, sometimes.... There was an update release on July 2nd that moved the Hourly forecast button when viewing the map. it used to be right next to Weekly which made sense. It's no longer there. Can you please fix this in your next release? Thanks

Doesn't mention Memphis. App isn't designed that great, but the first thing I noticed was that nowhere in the description do you mention that Action News 5 is in Memphis. I know because I live in the viewing area, but others might not. Of course, I guess the only people downloading the app would be those who live in the viewing area like me and would automatically recognize the logo, but it might be a good idea to say where you are. Anyway, thanks for the app. Dave and the Action New 5 WX dept. is known for its exceptional forecasting.

Breaking news. The live stream is no longer available on my phone. I am wondering why?

Slow. Very slow waiting for it you want make sure we see the advertisement I don’t like that think I will use WREG

Radar. Hate that I can only see the radar for past or now, can’t see for future. I will go back to using another weather app.

Good but not perfect.. Love this app and the weather alerts. I would like to see a fix so you can see cities on top of the colored radar so you know exactly where the storms are and where they are heading.

horrible app. even with the updated iOS this app is incredibly slow, it usually takes gettin out of it a time or two before it will work. when it finally does work it takes forever for the radar to update. severe weather could come and go by the time this app lets you see anything. wouldnt recommend it, its just too slow to keep up with radar.

Best free doppler weather app I have tried!. This app is impressive - I love the fact that the radar is co colorful. I have never had any trouble with it going off in the midst of a storm. It is extremely accurate. I also like knowing it pinpoints earthquakes. If you download this, take a minute and read the help section. Play around with it before you discard. This is absolutely an app worth keeping!

No longer works on iPhone6. Was a great app for a while. 2 updates ago, it started a pop up box right after opening and loading the current conditions that says "network error - check to see if airplane mode is on or try connecting with WiFi." Weird because it loaded the current info. Airplane mode is not on, cellular data is on, and the message appears whether I am on WiFi or not. Also, I do not want to use Wifi every time I open the app (in car, etc.). Since the pop up box blocks the screen and will not go away no matter how many times I hit "retry," I just uninstalled the app. Will try some others and try this one again maybe later.

Love action news 5. I live in west memphis and I heavily rely on this app to keep my family and I safe during bad weather. Please keep doing what you're doing.

Great, but....... I love this app. It's very useful & it's normally the first thing I check in the morning. I would LOVE an update so we can have PUSH notifications for severe weather, warnings or watches. I love how the Action News 5 app does push notifications for breaking news, so I'd like the same for severe weather. Once that's taken care of, you will have my 5 stars. ^_^

To many breaking news notifications. I liked the app but got tired of the silly breaking news stories so I deleted it off my phone. If the notifications only happened during "REAL" breaking news stories, it would be fine.

Too much!. Too much info crowded onto iPhone screen. Prefer a simpler layout.

Wonderful app. I've had this app for quite sometime and I love it!! It's a must have. I've been a Dave Brown fan ever since I was a young girl and he was on Dialing for Dollars and wrestling. I am going to be sad to see him retire. I pray you have a great retirement and God bless you and your family. I would love to have one of the Dave Brown bobble heads!! Where's The Radar?. Since the last update, the radar is worthless. It never shows rain or anything else, even when the rain is right on top of us. I have to go to the weather channel app to see where the rain is and which direction it's headed. If the radar map is to be believed, there is no weather anywhere in the U.S. - ever. Sorry I updated! They can't even keep the current temperature updated. Says it is 50 degrees and overcast in my area, but my thermometer says 64 degrees and it is bright and sunny. They really need to get a handle on this.

Can’t get video to play!. Video is hoeing but can’t pull it up to play.

One problem. It won't let me watch the videos of the latest forecast! I open it and it immediately crashes! Other than that I really like this app!
