Great recipe organizer but importing is tricky. I love the ability to organize all my recipes in one place. The abbreviations in the typing section make it easy to type in all those family recipes. The ability to go on the net and download any recipe you see in a magazine is great. Just one problem. The Instant Import function works only when it feels like it. Cut and paste only woks well on simple recipes. When they involve long ingredient lists and multiple steps, dragging the copy line while scrolling is a bear, especially if there are ads in the way. The developers need to fix this.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY. Update to below...it looks like some one bought the App from the original developers? She doesn't fix the instant import or other bugs or address anything but continues to collect purchases. Apple should remove the sale of this app from the App Store if the current owner doesn't have the capacity to support it. Like others on here I had been successfully using The Recipe Box for a few years with minor glitches (totally expected). However over the last 3-6 months almost every instant import, no matter the source, came back with a bug report. These issues used to be resolved within a few weeks or so now they just sit untouched so I'm waiting for the day the entire App crashes and is unrecoverable along with my stored recipes (along with everyone else's)..

Thank for the update!. I have been using this app for MANY years and a lot of features stopped working, but I put so much time and effort into building up my catalogue I didn’t want to switch. I also really like the format. I love that the instant import works again! I’m still getting used to some of the other updates, it it’s working great! Thank you thank you!!

Back To Its Former Glory!. I’ve been using this app in excess of fifteen years! Originally it was a five star app in a class by itself. Then came a point in time where it was neglected so that the sister app for the I-Phone could be & was perfected. Now, the developers have come back, dusted her off, updated & revamped the app with a new visual interface, print & import facility. Thereby bringing her back to be the Queen she once was!!!

Importing & Editing. Love the updates and the link between iPad and iPhone is great. One thing I discovered, if you EDIT a current recipe on one device, you need to delete the old recipe on the other device before you link the devices and “share” the recipes. It’s a simple fix, but if you don’t delete the old recipe it will not update your edits! The new import feature from the web is great….just play with it and you’ll love it….beats typing long recipes. I’ve had this original app on my iPhone for several years….it’s great when you bring one of your items to a party and someone wants the recipe….you can text the recipe from the the app or email it, both work very well. It’s like having my personal recipe collection in my pocket at all times.

Love this app. Years ago I saw this app and thought I’d give it a try. It makes looking up your recipes easy! One thing I love is that you can email your recipes to friends right from the recipe itself. I love the format. Whoever designed this app did a very fine job at making it easy to use. No more searching through recipe cards, ripped out magazine pages or cookbooks! I use this app every day. I have hundreds of recipes in it. If you cook and bake you will love this app!

My favorite recipe app. This is my go to app for all my best recipes. It's the easiest one to either download or build recipes. I'm even able to download from my PC. I wish I could download load more from the internet but I can bounce back and forth from web view to build. It takes longer but still gets the job done. This is a great app and they are making improvements to it. It would de fantastic if I had this as a program on the computer too.

Love this App. This is my favorite recipe app and I’m thrilled it is finally updated!!! When it was getting dated, tried other apps but kept coming back to the old one. Other apps are just too commercialized. One suggestion for the next upgrade is to have an option to include the recipe photo when sharing a recipe. Thank you for updating this app!

No support. EDIT: as of 11/23 it has now been updated but there is no way to reach developer as link in app does not work, also, the change to interface is horrible, instead of having the info bar with measurements over the keyboard area in a straight line, it has been moved to both sides of the screen which takes up most of the room on the recipe. I do not like this change at all and support is sadly lacking as it was before. Too bad as this app had the makings of a great one. I caution anyone thinking of using this app as apparently it is no longer supported by the developer due to personal issues. I spent a lot of time over the years putting in my recipes and although I can use them NOW I fear that in the future this app will be useless. It is next to impossible to import recipes and using the copy and paste feature is a joke. I am extremely disappointed as I loved this app and paid good money for it. I will no longer add recipes and will start copying the ones I have over into another app. It was great while it lasted.

What the Half-baked App?. I’ve had this app for years and have parked almost all my best recipes here. Now it barely functions. Instant import does not work, specialized keyboard does not work, I can no longer view the ingredients and the instructions at the same time, etc. I always install updates. What has happened to one of my all time favorite apps? I’ll be burned if I have to move all my collected recipes to a new app. I tried to email rather than put this in a review, but, surprise, that wasn’t working either. Please, please get this fixed!

Unhappy with latest update. I love most features of this app and have been using it for several years. However the latest version has two new features which are annoying to the degree that I would consider using another app if I didn't have all of my recipes already stored in this one. The new larger font is too large and gets over-crowded making for poorer not better legibility as was intended. The other is the lost of the picture and other functions (editing, bookmarking, etc) that was available on the ingredients-direction page. They were handy right there but now I have to toggle back and forth which is very annoying. Please revise back or at least give the option to chose these features.

My Favorite Recipe Source. I love so much about this app, but agree w/ reviewers about keeping the photo on the recipe, don’t like the large font and the fact that it often freezes when I’m adding Type (category) or times in recipes. Would’ve given it 5 stars if above items were corrected. I like having the photo on the recipe AND as you scroll thru’ looking for a recipe. I also wish the source was on the opening listing. I’ve been using this since Recipe Box started and think it’s the best way to keep old and new recipes.

May be going back to Rolodex. Updated review (iOS16 version): So excited all the broken features have been fixed. The capture feature for importing works better than ever! I love this app and have not been willing to abandon it. ------------ This is a great app, but it hasn’t been updated since iOS9. Surprised it works on iOS11 at all. Will keep using it, but like others posters, I’m going to have to back my recipes up to print/PDF in case it stops working with the next update. It’s not even worth trying to find another app to replace it. I don’t have to time to build recipe files from the ground up, only to have to start all over when the developer loses interest.

Update. Although I sort of like the update, I was totally not expecting it. It came from out of nowhere. There are some things that just don’t seem to work as well. Take for instance, the time; prep and total. You start clicking on buttons and all sorts of things pop up. That’s just for starters. Then there are the conversation charts popping up everywhere. However nice they are, I think that they should be allowed for YOU to bring them up. It’s just too many things staring at you. Thanks for listening. Zanna

New update after all these years!. OMG! Thank you, thank you for the update! I have been using this app for years and had been quite disappointed it appeared to have been abandoned. But I had a lot of recipes saved and did not want to go through all the trouble to start over. Besides, I really did like the app. What a great surprise to see it had been updated after all these years! The Image Capture and instant Import worked flawlessly. I am a happy woman!

Doesn’t work. This has been a very good app. However, for no apparent reason, the special keyboard no longer works. I tried turning my iPad to portrait rather than landscape and the keyboard appears but it doesn’t work. I don’t want this database of recipes on my phone. (I’m an older woman and reading recipes on my iPhone is more trouble than it’s worth.) I have a lot of recipes to add but I need the keyboard to work.

USED TO BE a Great App; COULD BE again. I have had this app for years. And like many other reviewers, I loved it when I first got it. I have invested a lot of time and energy into drafting and importing recipes into the app. But the app no longer functions as it was designed to. Instant import never works. And all the special keys that made creating recipes so easy no longer work. All the app needs is a true software update to be compatible with the current ISO. But the designer never seems to respond to these types of comments. I have even gone to the designer website for support. And I’ve tried leaving a comment on their website for support. I always get an under construction-type message. Which leads me to believe that the designer is not in business anymore. SOMEONE PLEASE UPDATE THIS APP!!!!!

Crashes and broken backups. This app is good if you don't want to add all of your recipes because when you put to many in there is is slow and crashes all the time. When you try and share recipes, it can freeze up the entire catalog of recipes and the only fix is to delete the app and reinstall, only to lose all of your recipes. Then if you back them up the way the recommend you to do the file won't open and work. Also, when you contact them via email and ask for help of to report issues, you don't get a response. So I would advice you to have your recipes in hard copies or on you computer so you don't lose them.

Caveat emptor. I have used this app for many years and have over 700 recipes stored on it. The app used to be great (five stars), and it is still o.k., but issues are repeatedly cropping up (read the reviews). This is clearly an unsupported app now. The last update was January 2016. The app troubleshooting page talks about iOS 8 with no mention of iOS 10. You cannot get response from the developers (who promise they read their emails), save a canned email that is over a year old. Common decency should dictate that this app be removed from the store. I am now looking for alternatives, and I'm trying to find someone who has a script that will transfer my recipes to another app. There are (or will be) many of us with the same problem, since this app will soon die; if you find a solution, please post.

Used to be great-found replacement app. Updated review: App is no longer supported or updated. It’s been 3 years since last update. I found another app which is just as good and it imported all of my recipes (200+) easily. Plus you can import recipes from almost any web site. Finally, the app continues to be updated and customer support responds quickly if you have any questions or problems. The name of the app is Recipe Keeper. With iOS 13 coming out who knows if The Recipe Box will even work. I have given up on Recipe Box completely. It was great years ago. First off, its a good app. Second, and most important, mine developed an bug and said it was importing pictures just this once. Just like after the last update. It then crashed and stopped running. I contacted customer service several times with no response. I paid for an app that will not work. So, if it works fine. If it ever develops a problem...your finished!

Love this app!. I have been using this app for about 3 years and it has always performed perfectly for me! It is an easy way to gather Internet recipes. In addition, I can put my own recipes in and when I need to share it with a friend in a printed copy, it looks so professional. Please keep it going, I have had no issues with malfunctioning, adding recipes, sharing or viewing recipes! It may take a few tries for you to get the hang of it, but it's so easy to import whatever you want to keep. Editing is a breeze.

Best Recipe Keeper!. I have used The Recipe Box for years and loved it. But, guess what? They just made it even better! It’s so easy to find and store recipes. Just search for what you want to make, decide which recipe you like best and save it with one click. So easy! When I first started using the app, I looked up some of my very old recipes by name and the magazine name and was able to find and save many of them. Or, you can type in recipes that you can’t find. Over the years I have added so many recipes from magazines, food blogs and friends. The app is also easy to cook with. You can store your recipes in categories so they are easy to find. One recipe can be stored in several categories. For example: vegetarian, soup, easy or pasta, chicken and other poultry, make ahead. They are listed in alphabetical order in each category by default but you can change that with a couple of clicks. The app stays on while you are viewing or using the recipe. It’s a snap to share or delete recipes, too. There is so much more-I can’t write it all in a short review. Just try this app-I know you will love it!

What went wrong?. Noticed that no one has rated this app in quite awhile. It’s now even worse than when I originally posted this review. Practically impossible to enter new recipes as the fractions and abbreviations aren’t live. Supposedly my recipes are now backed up on iTunes, but can’t access them. If you’re considering this app, move on. Was really loving this app. Even raved about it friends. Now it won't load. Contacted customer service and no response. I'm afraid to delete and reload cause I might lose all my recipes. Could downloading the iPhone version allow me to find my recipes? Hate to have to pay again for the same app as I'm not really interested in having it on my phone.

Finally!. I've been trying to make a recipe file for a few years now but it was tedious and impossible to search, categorize, and easily add new recipes. This app is a dream come true! All the newspaper clippings, magazine clipping, and scrap paper recipes are now all in one beautiful place. Thank you! UPDATE: I’ve been using this app for several years now and I love it! It is a little glitchy sometimes, instant import rarely works, but it is still a great recipe database. I’m shocked that there was finally an update. It’s a little different. I don’t like the numbers and measurements at the top/sides but I’ll deal with it. Still my favorite!

Use to love, love this app.. I use to love this app but the import feature which is what I loved it for stop function years ago. The keyboard is dead in the water, I have contacted them and they never respond. I guess I need to look for a new app what kills me is I have made everyone in my family purchase this app so we can share recipes so lost business for them since we are shopping for a new one. DO NOT purchase if want to be disappointed.

Help. Not working well.. Is this app still even being supported? I’ve used it for years and have loved it, but now I can’t even get it to sync between my devices or my daughters devices. I’ve invested a lot of time organizing and entering all of my recipes I purchased this app and purchased it for both of my daughters as well so we can share, but it simply won’t connect. And now I can’t seem to find a way to connect with anyone for help. If I can’t get it figured out, I’m searching for an app I can use and hopefully transfer everything fr9m here to there.

Latest version so bad, please take us back!. I find myself searching for another recipe app, but really, I just want the old Recipe Box back. The new version is visually terrible, the details overlap on the main page, only limited information can be accessed from individual recipe pages, instant import frequently makes the app crash, and some entries randomly change - I have had to re-enter several recipes, and I had to re-enter all the prep times and cooking times several times because they changed to different numbers (like 00:15 was suddenly 22:57). Please "update" us all to the last version we all enjoyed and trusted with our recipes. If you have not downloaded this yet, don't.

This is/was a great app…. I have not tried to add a recipe to this app for a long time. At the site I use most the the instant import fails to work. I know I can copy and paste but do you really need a dedicated app to do that for a recipe besides you put the button there it should work! Frankly I am having a difficult time rating this. If the import function worked all the time for me it would be a 5 but it doesn't so a 1. Since I use it more to use recipes than add new ones you get 2 1/2. Update. Since I was in the App Store to write this review. I did some searching and found some paprika. Does what I want it do do! Imagine that

From 5 to 2 stars. Don’t waste your time! This was one of the best early recipe apps out there. I have collected over 2300 recipes on the app and used to recommend it to friends. I am not sure if the developers stopped putting energy into this, but in the past few years it has lost quite a bit of functionality and has not added any new features. I haven’t been able to auto import a recipe in more than a year without an error message (you can still import manually) and the direct sharing/synching of recipes between ipads/iphones no longer works. I buy a new iPad and iPhone every 2-3 years, so I know that it is not because my equipment is old. I am in the process of looking at other apps to transfer my recipes to. Unfortunate that I have wasted so much time on this app. :(

Great Program. I use this program all of the time. I have not encountered any problems so far except in the beginning I was noticing additional recipes that would show up that I did not enter into my recipe box. I prefer putting in my recipe box what I want and not what someone else thinks that I should have. I removed the foreign recipes and to my knowledge (I have not checked recently) I do not have recipes in my file that I did not put there. This is a great program and I no longer loose the fun and delicious favorites. I love that you can add photos of the recipe and you are able to share the recipes as well. Thank you for doing such a great job.

Great app!. I have been using this app now for a couple of years and I love The Recipe Box app. I love that I can have one on my tablet and my phone and I can synchronize them. The phone app is handy when I'm at the grocery store and I decide I want to make something. I can look up the ingredients to make sure I have everything. Three things I would do to make it better are: 1. Add a version for the web so that I can enter recipes via my laptop. This would be very handy for entering my hardcopy recipes. I can type much faster on my laptop keyboard than the tablet keyboard. 2. I know there is a workaround when the import does not work, but it feels like one version the import works and in the next version it does not. I think more extensive testing should be done with each of the sites you can import from before releasing an update. Many times if I cannot import I just won't add it to my recipe box. 3. Give me a way to export to a text file. As much as I would like to believe this app will be around forever, reality tells me that it won't. My concern is that I will never be able to export my recipes in the event this ever happens. The idea of emailing myself each recipe sounds painful.

I lost EVERYTHING cannot express my fury. Been using this app for years. There’s a pop up bar when you’re entering a new recipe...it has shortcut choices like “chopped” or “minced,” and numbers including fractions, and shortcut keys for “Tbsp” or “med.” It only worked in the beginning. Finally I had enough and first went to contact the company - and the link says under construction or whatever. Jerks. So I followed their instructions to be sure Recipe Box is backed up to my iCloud and then deleted and reinstalled the app to see if the buttons would work. Guess what? I lost all my recipes. Fortunately I previously emailed myself every recipe of importance (ie ones I customized, unlike say basic banana bread). But my custom photos also? Also all lost. So maybe I’ll figure out yet how to get them back but no more app. No more ANY recipe app. I am going to print off my recipes I saved to desktop and go back to using a book. AGAIN, I CANNOT STRESS HOW MUCH ANGRY I AM! I spent many, many hours logging in recipes, for nothing. If this company makes any other apps, don’t use them either.

Good to Bad. Yep, this app was once a great recipe box, but now all my recipes are gone. Only 21 are in my library out of at least a hundred and it’s been so many years since I bought this app, I’m not sure if those recipes came with the app or what. I purchased a new iPad and because of the difficulties in moving my recipes over, time took over and what was on my original iPad, is now missing 3/4 of my recipes. It matches the recipes on my new iPad. I’m sending this message here because the contact us page is under repair. Luckily I saved all my hard copy recipes and to find another digital library source will be avoided. This app should be removed from being downloaded.

NO UPDATES FOR 7 YEARS = DEAD APP!!!. This WAS an excellent app for many years, but they stopped updating and customer service went silent over 7 years ago. The many iOS updates since then have precipitated a whole host of function issues with The Recipe Box that make it essentially useless. I am sorry to have to give up on this old favorite, but the time for holding on has come and gone. If you download this app in 2020 or later, I’m afraid your heart will be broken when one day it simply fails to function altogether. That is a nightmare scenario for recipe archivists like me. Allow me to opine that you shouldn't waste your money on this long dead app. I needed a new home for my precious recipe collection, so I searched online for opinions, and read the AppStore descriptions of every one that was recommended. PAPRIKA 3 kept rising to the top, so that’s what I bought. It has plenty of very useful functions, is intuitive to use, and it is intelligently laid out — so it is an excellent substitute for Recipe Box. I have no financial interest in the company that sells Paprika 3, and I do not know the developer; after 3+ years of use, I still think Paprika 3 is the best recipe archive in the AppStore.

The Updates are great. Have been using it for years. But the upgrade has made it so much easier. Love that the import function from websites. It works for so many different sites. Also it’s nice to share and update with my friends and family who have this app. Keyboard shortcuts are a plus for manual editing. Thank you so much for all the work you’ve put in this recipe app.

Two different apps now. Not cool anymore. There are now two different versions of the Recipe Box and they don’t talk to each other. Use to load recipes into the Recipe Box on my iPad, which I preferred to use on the kitchen counter. Always exported recipes to my iPhone, so I could check the ingredients list while shopping. Then my phone decided to auto-update to Recipe Box To Go, and my iPad recipes decided that they could no longer interchange with my iphone. So there you have it, basically unusable for me. Got to go to another app, though don’t know where or how the heck I’m going export all those recipes to a different app.

Used to love this App. PROS: Easy to use; not only do I have the option import, but to cut and paste as well; can easily edit categories; recipes look great when sharing via email. CONS: Recipe Box keyboard doesn’t work 98% of the time - had to add a special keyboard app in order to use fractions. Cannot import recipes from many sites, even from sites recommended by Recipe Box’s listing. Unable to locate area where app tells you what version you are using - it’s not in settings. Must be computer literate to add pics of recipes - have found that many pictures do not load; app crashes often. I purchased this app and am unable to contact customer support! When trying to select “Contact” on their webpage, page reloads and displays “Bad Merchant!!!” Huh?! As soon as I figure out how to back up my recipes to another source, I’m deleting and just consider it a loss of money! Oh and yes, I have the latest version!

Almost Perfect. I had to switch from my former Recipe Pad app when the developer claimed he would no longer support the app ugh!!!. I downloaded my apps before I hit upon this one and I am glad I did. Importing from most sites is easy , copy and paste is easy as well. I would like some additional features are to accommodate sous vide cooking and more sophisticated iCloud support and I hope the developer is working on it. It would also be nice to have a favorite recipe sites feature as opposed to scrolling though the list to get at the ones you frequent. All in all thus app is a powerful tool.

Great app, to bad it’s no longer supported. I have been using this app for years. It was absolutely wonderful - being able to download apps from web easily, readily available, and could sync with phone. Now, however, the sync function is no more. The copying form the web needs to be updated as well - still works - some times, though you can always select the ingredients, title, and directions separetely and download. Would love to see this updated!

I use this all the time, but..... Please add a login feature. I have all of my recipes in this app and use it all the time. I refer to my iPad while cooking, and use my phone while gathering ingredients at the store so I need both devices to have all of my recipes. Currently, you are required to synch your recipes one by one between devices, but half of the time this feature doesn’t work. I’ve thought about converting to another app that has a login feature, but then I would spend hours transferring recipes.

Love love love this app. I love this app. I cook a lot. I now have all my recipes loaded and have done away with my card file. It makes searching the web and down loading, editing, creating shopping lists, sharing and sorting recipes so easy. Best of all I can take everything with me so when I change my mind on whats for dinner, it makes it quick to put a new shopping list together. The only added feature would be having a way to double or triple the recipe without having to do the math yourself. I cook for large groups at the time of anywhere from 20-50 people and having an initial scaling would be awesome. But I am likely the exception to the rule here as this is not a common need, so I live with a calculator.

Really love this app!. I find this app so useful. I have been using it for years and have the iPhone app too. I prefer using it on the iPad for both entry and cooking. I use it just for my recipes, but love the bookmark for new recipes I would like try. My only issue with the latest update is that on entry/edit, the text screen seems to scroll a lot while I'm typing. I typically uses it I the horizontal position. Also, this is really small, but the degree button now produces a capital X instead of the degree symbol.

Wow!!!. Love this app. Fun, easy to use and easy to download all of my favorite recipes. Give it a try you will never use another recipe box. Can't tell you how many recipes I have lost with other apps. I love going to the store, looking up a recipe and having at the touch of my fingers. I transfer recipes from my phone to my pad. This app is amazing. Instead of putting in calories I put in points for weight watchers. Give it a try! You won't be sorry! Yes, mine freezes up once in a while. I just reboot my iPad. I, too, think this app just keeps getting better. Thanks so much for a terrific product.

My main recipe app.. This is far and away my favorite recipe app! Between the instant import from most recipe sites, and speaking the recipes that are not instantly import-able, I can get a recipe in it in less than five minutes any time. I also like that I can tap an ingredient, and it grays out, or tap the step in the directions and it highlights. This helps me keep my place. I am not a chef or anything, but I dig this app.

Been a while. I have had this app for several years. It has also been quite a while since it has been updated. I like the fact that it is simple to use and has all the features I was looking for in a recipe collection. I’ve used it for my restaurant’s recipes as well as my personal recipes. Well done on the upgrade. Nice job.

Great App - I Rarely Have Problems. I have been using this app for several years, initially on ipad, then added to my iphone, currently 6S. I rarely have problems. I am a Cook's Illustrated web subscriber and the instant import works great there. I simply do not have the problems I see elsewhere in the reviews. When instant import is not supported, the copy and paste work-around always works. I like the idea that the recipes I keep there are mine, not an encyclopedia of recipes I will not use and have to search through to get where I want. When I am shopping and forgot to check a recipe for ingredients, I just check my phone. I love this app

Keeps freezing when I'm using it. I've had this app for years and really depend on it, all my recipes are kept on it. The past few months each time I use it, it freezes up. I can't move it down to see the rest of ingredients or the directions, no matter what I do. This morning it was so bad, I had to stop what I was doing and access the recipe on my iPhone to finish what I was making. This Christmas I received an iPad Air 2 and also upgraded my iPhone to the 6s. What an absolute nightmare trying to transfer all my recipes to my new i products. I ended up having to email all 442 recipes to myself and transferring that way. I hope this is just a temporary bug and will be fixed shortly. Up until the last month, this app has always been 5*.

Love it! And Love the Update!. Updated review: I was so excited to see this app get updated and be supported again! I have used this app for years for my recipes and to help meal plan, but over time it had lost the ability to transfer recipes between the app on my iPhone and my iPad. The “instant import” feature had also stopped working (as far as I could tell), but I could still manually import recipes from websites and blogs so I made the best of it and it was still a mostly useful app. But NOW, with the update, everything is back and even better than before. The transfer between my phone and iPad works again. Even better, instant recipe import is even better than before!! I just imported a recipe from a food blog with the touch of a button! So amazing and way easier than the manual import I used to do. I love it and will go back to recommending this app to friends. ********* Great app! So easy to upload recipes from websites. I have it on both my iPad and iPhone and sync recipes between them. I use the app as a way to brainstorm dinner ideas. Before each grocery store trip, I browse the dinner recipes and select which one I'm going to make that week. So nice to have them all in one place and not rummaging through all of my cookbooks, magazines, and random scraps of paper for ideas.

The good and the bad. I like this app and use it frequently to access my recipes, especially when I'm shopping. But, one of the things I liked best, which was being able to import recipes from the web no longer works. Every time I try to import a recipe, it crashes. Even when I copy it "bit by bit", I have to keep saving and editing it so that I don't lose everything when it decides to crash again! I agree with the other reviews..there is no support! Wish there was a better way ! I have sent too many 'bug reports' to even count and I never get a reply. If I didn't already have a lot of recipes on this app, I would change. Don't buy it! There's got to be a better one out there.

Perfect for keeping my own recipes. I love that this app doesn't bog me down with a lot of pre-entered recipes that I will never use. It lets me enter my own and I'm even able to easily add from recipes I find on the internet directly in the app. The only thing I don't like is in the latest update when I try to share a recipe by email with someone who doesn't own the app, it doesn't include the picture anymore like it used to. It only attaches the recipe file with the picture placed in *there* (which is useless to the other person if they don't have the app).

My Best Friend in the Kitchen. This program is the best! I have been using it for years and it just keeps getting better, in fact, it's so good it doesn't need any thing more! I no longer need to type recipes in, or cut and paste, I can just go online through the app and most of my favourite sites for recipes allow an instant import and voila, there are all the details, including pics, portions, cooking time, in fact everything! I LOVE it :) Thank you for a great program. Ps: It's also brilliant value for money.

Great app. This is what I love about this app 1. My iPad stays open at the page until I've finished with the recipe. 2. I can download and save most recipes directly from the internet. Copying and pasting is easy if the recipe doesn't have download capabilities. 3. The app organises and categorises the recipes so that they are easy to find. 4. I have the ability to create my own folders for recipes that are important or that don't fit in the folders provided. 5. The format is easy to read and to edit. It is one of my most favourite apps on my iPad. I use it daily. No more leafing thru books and loose recipes to find what I'm after.

Awesome!. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! Within ten minutes of having this app, I could not put it down. Looking though the numerous "instant download" websites to save new recipes, typing in ones I've already got at home. I'll probably run out of battery power before I finish. Just a thought, would be great to have the ability to use the app on iMac to type in your own stuff. Obviously easier to type on PC than ipad.

A great help. Thanks to this app I have gathered some really good recipes in one place. I particularly like salads and now I have great variety at my finger tips. Keep adding new websites to the Instant Import facility! Makes adding recipes so painless.

Latest Version needs bug fixes. I love this app and have used it for a long time without problem. This latest version won't put new recipes entered in alphabetical order nor will it allow you to add a photo. What's happened??

Clicking on camera causes App to freeze. I've been using the app for a while and like it. But I've just typed in a recipe and went to add a photo of it by using my iPad camera and it caused the app to freeze and I lost the whole recipe as I hadn't yet saved the recipe. I've retyped the recipe, saved it but I can't add the photo. I've always been able to add a photo previously so I'm wondering if it's just a problem with the latest version. I can add a photos from the camera roll but can’t use the take a photo option. I like using The Recipe Box app. Just wondering if you are going to update it to fix some of the issues? The ‘cup’ key only adds ‘c’ to my ingredients. The ‘degree symbol’ key only adds an ‘X’ to my my ingredients.

Was Superb....now not so. This is one of my most used App's on my iPad. It has a superb, user friendly design and an elegant user interface. The search function on the Web allows very simple auto downloads of recipes on websites. It imports photo, ingredients and method. But in the last few months, it has become buggy beyond belief. 1. The auto import functionality no longer works. 2. The keyboard function only partly works. The portion that doesn’t include all the numerics and the measurement abbreviations. 3. More frustrating, the recipe transfer function doesn’t work. My iPad recognises my iPhone, my wife’s iPhone and her Airpad, but just won’t move into the transfer function. Why important? This is the way we, in the past, created a backup of the recipes. Tried contacting the developer on their website, but the contact page is currently “under repair “. Disappointing that what was a superb app is now pretty mediocre.

Almost perfect. Guys, there's a problem with the print function in IOS6. It frequently doesn't print the ingredients. After a bit of persistence (and a waste of paper), it will eventually print correctly. Thanks :)

Absolutely love it !!!. Love the ease in which you can add recipes off the Internet. The way you can click on an ingredient or step of method and it dims so you know where you are up to at a quick glance. Looked at many recipe apps and reviews on google re recipe apps and glad i picked this one as could only ask for multiple timers which was the only feature a few apps had that i thought wow that would be handy. Love having all my favourite recipes in the one spot instead of going to all different books and saved websites on my ipad (which isn't that great when Internet drops out - which has happened at a few inconvenient times). To save time and have a bit of order well worth cost.

I'm looking for another app. I was very happy with RecipeBox until the last upgrade when all of my recipe images disappeared. Tech support are slow to respond and so far I haven't had any success getting them back. Considering that I spent so much time setting up my recipe collection into this app I'm very disappointed to be having to redo work I've already done. Unless I can get all my recipe images back I'm finding a more reliable app.

Great functionality, if a little dated in style. This is a great app -really easy to use for both saved recipes and your own. I just find the overall look and style a little dated which makes it a little difficult to read. I would like to see an upgrade of the look into the current century.

Importing. With the new version, why have I lost the import function when receiving a recipe by email from another user with the Recipe Box app.

Recipe link no longer works between my 2 iPads. Up to recently I had no issues sharing recipes between my 2 iPads. I do not know what happened but the recipe link suddenly just stopped working. When I switch the link icon on both iPads, the right prompts show, one iPad locates the other iPad, but the sharing component just does not happen no matter how long I wait for it to happen. FRUSTRATING.

Best recipe journal. It is the best app to copy and past recipes from the Internet or email into a journal. The screen stays on until you press your home button to exit, so you can cook and refer to it without having to tap the screen and avoid getting your ipad messy. Really easy to use, if this is the first time you've decided to buy a recipe journal, get this one. I have tried 6 of them. I've never written a review for an app before but this one deserves it! Shopping list is brilliant if you want to meal plan. I can't say enough good things about it. Never lose a recipe again. Possibly The email function could be improved to circulate recipes easily with the images. Email function is not so intuitive, also it doesn't copy the Pictures. to copy the images from the Internet hold your finger then save image and then add through photo album option on the recipe page.

Brilliant. Instead of having every safari window open with recipes I like. Now I import them into this app, I have even cleared my notes app where I previously cut and pasted the ones I liked. This is the best app I have on my iPad, it's easy and saves me trying to remember that awesome recipe I saw three weeks ago that I bookmarked along with a tonne of others but now can't find.

This app rocks!. This is just what I've been looking for to keep all my favourite recipes together in one place. Gone are the sheets of printed out recipes and all the books have been put on a high shelf! I have typed in favourite recipes collected over the years and cut and paste recipes from favourite websites. This keeps them organized and in one place. Love it🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Love the new update. This is my only digital recipe book, so is very precious to me! It had everything I needed in a recipe app, but with the new update, I can even transfer the recipes to my other devices, like IPhone etc, without having to go through iTunes, and it just took seconds to do so. Lots of other nifty shortcuts too, that have really enhanced the app!

Not happy!. I loved this app when I purchased it and have used it many times but now there appears to be a bug in the system and the app won't even open. I have backed up and reinstalled without success and now find that customer support has been turned off due to a company changeover! Really crappy service

Awesome recipe app. Have used this app going on 5 i-devices now, I've had it for that long! I just love it, the ease of use, the simple one touch importing of most recipes, the easy copy and paste of the rest... Yeah, I'm a huge fan. Have definitely gotten my money's worth, would be lost without it. Also, one of the few apps where each update seems to make it better, and I've never had any sort of stability issues at all.

Not happy, recipes lost, very poor support. Sorry to have to say that Recipe Box is not working and despite backing up all my recipes I cannot get them back onto my ipad - the app keeps crashing despite deleting/reinstalling, resetting ipad etc. Up to now I have been a very happy Recipe Box user but am devastated to have lost my recipes despite backing up. I have emailed Corpus Collusion several times asking for advice and assistance and there has been NO RESPONSE.

brilliant app so easy!!!!!. I love this app. It is so easy to use, so easy to find recipes using any words associated with the recipe you might be looking for. All the recipes are with me even when I am on holidays or making visits to the big city. Its also easy to download recipes from the internet or add my own. I would love it if I could save and view the actual recipes on my pc (which I might be able to do - still looking into this) in case my ipad ever crashes.

Finally update for iPad. I have loved this app and been waiting for years for the iPad update and fix syncing feature to iPhone. What an improvement. The only problem is that the capture link is now no longer showing up on the bottom of the screen when searching and finding new recipe on the web. You can copy but have to switch to the recipe to paste it now which is a disappointment and awkward. Maybe in next update this feature will be back there on my iPad. So happy that someone has been working on this great app.

Unstable app it needs updating... ANOTHER UPDATE: When is there going to be an update. You would think with a paid app it would have regular updates so its stable. My app has started to freeze, crash when I tried and put recipes in. I cant import recipes from my other recipe box app on my iPhone & iPad & can’t email my recipes.. I have over 300 recipes saved on this app and how this app is going I won’t be able to open it soon and loose all my recipes. UPDATE: Can’t email recipes and the recipe share link doesn’t work so can’t send copies to my other devices I have the app on. Even after trying everything in the trouble shooting doesn’t work. I get ...The recipe box is confused: The recipe box may be in an unstable state, due to the iPad mail system is not configured properly #****. You may have to exit the program to clear the confusion, but you could try don’t worrying about it first... My mail system is working fine and is configured correctly. I’ve tried turning my iPad off & on, doing a forced restart, clearing cookies etc. Is there going to be an update anytime soon to fix things. I’m wondering if the whole app is about to stop working and I loose all my recipes I have saved. I had to pay for this app so you would expect to be working properly. This is an excellent app. I love i can store all my recipes in 1 app. Its great that you can share your recipes as well. I love how you can copy paste & edit & Its super easy to use. Was once great, now not so much. My Instant Import no longer works from any of the sources I have tried. Also, the numbers on the keyboard, including fractions, as well as some of the abbreviations, ie tsp, no longer work. Lastly, when I want to update my iPhone app from my iPad, stops working midway through import. Getting frustrated with the app.

Losing Functionality. When entering a new recipe all of the quick keys for tsp, cup, etc at the top of the screen do not work. Also the print function makes the app crash and no longer prints. Badly in need of updates. Aside from that, I love the app.

Love it. Still my favourite app on my iPad. A must have for anyone who cooks at all! Love, love, love. Unfortunately it really needs an update. Gets hung up frequently. Still love it. A little nervous that one day I may lose the recipes. Was the best by far.

The recipe box. I use to love this app….. now it doesn’t work properly. Can’t copy and paste recipes into it anymore. Can’t print recipes from it. It’s turned into a garbage app and it seems that the developers don’t want to fix the issues

Good recipe app. Works pretty well.some recipes didn't import but was able to copy and paste. Format for reading on iPad is good. Overall very good. I do worry about the possibility of losing my recipes as what happened with another user but willing to keep with this one.

Stability and export problems. I loved this app for many years. Don’t buy it now. Several problems too serious to use it. it’s no longer supported. It doesn’t transfer all receipts to another device, roughly ten percent. Then quits, and won’t pair again. Tried to back up in Icloud, it failed. Emailing my whole recipe box, it truncates part way through. The backup no longer works. It hangs, and must be rebooted. Too risky. Hundreds of hours on my collection, wasted.

Keeping family recipes close at hand. I have been using this app for some time now. Great app. The only thing I would change is to able to iCloud back it up so it’s available to me on my iPhone so when the kids call I can send from anywhere

Once again this is the best recipe app ever!. I’ve been using this app since it came out but about four years ago it appeared to have been orphaned. A lot of features stopped working but I stayed with it and the basics worked. I just got notification of an update after all this time and am ecstatic!!! I use this just about on a daily basis. It was and now is again the best recipe keeper/organizer ever. Thank you, thank you,thank you for the update, bringing all features back to life. Previous review: No updates or response from developer in 2 years. Features quit working. Don’t buy this.

Won’t Accept Photos. Since the recent update I can no longer add photos to my recipes. The old way of doing it worked very well. The new method is hard to understand and doesn’t work.

New User. I clicked on happily to give this a 5 star rating. Love the potential of the app and it's intuitive bent matches mine. However, before I typed my review and stars, I read in other reviews how it cannot sync between iPad and iPhone. Also, disturbingly, an upgrade gave a massive loss of personal recipes to multiple users! Ooooh! Can't start with THAT! I looked for a response from the program developer but there is none that I can find! Disturbing! I guess I'm gonna check out of this one, boys and girls. I'll be back, though, if all the cookbook apps have the same issues because I do like this one!

Missing recipes. Got a new iPad and none of the recipes are mine. So disappointed!

Excellent product. I have been using this App for the last 12 years and love it. It works as long as you do not update the latest operating system. Wish I could buy this App for my PC.

Was great. Until now I would have given this app 5 stars. The concept is great, but the latest upgrade has removed all of my recipes. The purpose is to save your recipes so one loss is a total loss. It renders the app useless. If I have to print them for security, I may as well just put them on paper. Some of the recipes were on my iPhone, but the share feature is not working. It shared a few then the app on my iPad Pro closed into the background. I couldn't get them to share again. This was all done with no other apps running in the background on either device.

Unable to select and edit. I have had this app for years, and really like it, but, lately I cannot select to edit or cut and paste. The option comes up when I touch the part I want to select, but it doesn’t let me select. Frustrating!!!!!

Still can’t link my iPad to my iphone so that they have the same recipes. Most of them are linked but have new ones that I would like to go to the phone app. So handy when I go grocery shopping and I can look up a recipe to see what ingredients I need. Thank you so much.

What happened to your app?. App hasn’t been updated for quite some time. Both my devices are running iOS12.1 and the app will not sync the recipes. Used to be a great app, but not sure where the developer went. It would be nice to hear from him/her/them. Hellooo???

Doesn’t work. Very disappointed. I wrote all my recipes and worked for a few years. Now the developer has forgotten all about it. No support no updates. App crashes, won’t work properly. The developer is still bragging about developing it, but doesn't have any support. Apple should not allow it in the app store.

In app Keyboard Shortcuts no longer work. I have used this app for years & loved it; but the short cuts for things like 1/2 or cup buttons included in the in-app keyboard no longer work at all...

Very disappointing update.. Update: I have downgraded my rating of this app from a 5-star down to a 2-star because of the new version that was just thrust upon us. There are numerous bugs which are repeatedly making the app unresponsive on my tablet. I have asked how I can return to the old version but never even got a response from the support staff. This used to be one of my favourite apps, which I recommended constantly, but not anymore! Very disappointing!!! Bought this recipe box a few months ago after having purchased a cooking program that didn't have an app to use on my iPad. I think this app is great, and would never have even bought the other program had I known about this one first! It's easy to use, both to import recipes, to input your own favorites, and to share recipes. This app was one of the best apps I have ever bought and I would highly recommend it if you are into cooking!

The camera has stopped working. Great app....however it's frustrating because the camera is no longer working so you can't take pictures of your recipe....please fix this soon! The instant import has also stopped working...not cool!!

Problems with entry. The special characters and numbers do not work on the top of the keypad. Problems getting additional information added when revising entries. Tried to email from website and just got sales pitch for something else.

Please Update!. I love this app and use it frequently but since last IOS update the shortcut bar doesn’t work. Also, notes aren’t visible with recipe which is a nuisance. Would change rating to 5 stars with fixes.

Happy for the update. Have been using this simple little app for years. It does everything I need with no clutter, or excess fields. It makes keeping, using & sharing favourite recipes easy. I like the format for ingredients and directions. I have never used the notes section but think it will be useful when adapting gluten free recipes.

New update ruined the app. This is terrible! I have updated my iPad and still nothing works. There is no dark mode-looks the same as before. Can’t search up recipes by typing in ingredients bc there’s no longer a space to type it after pressing + button. Even if in a recommended website there’s no “instant import” option. Can’t even manually import a recipe bc the options for title, ingredients etc never pops up at the bottom. I’ve had this app for years and it was fine but now it’s awful. Please fix asap!

Great app... But no longer supported. I love this app and have used it for several years, but apparently it is no longer being supported. I have The Recipe Box on two iPads, but can no longer share recipes between the two. I have diligently followed the instructions, but when a link has been created between my two devices, there is no "send" button to proceed. There is no help whatever on the web site. I've invested a lot of time and effort adding recipes to this app and sharing them with friends and family. I would hate to have to discontinue it's use. Numerous attempts to connect with the developer via Twitter have elicited zero response. Please, if the developer is still involved, a little help would be greatly appreciated.

Great recipe app. I love how easy it is to add recipes. Love the look and everything about it. I have my recipes on my iPad so I always have them with me when we travel. I also love the new and improved updates.

Love the App and Teach the App. I love this app but there seems to be a couple of features that are not working: 1. The “Back Button” that takes us back to main menus list does not work. 2. The feature to send recipes by WiFi to another iPad does not work. Otherwise the app is wonderful, especially when importing from recipe websites and emailing to someone who has the app. Hopefully the Developer Kathleen Tavel will fix these two things so that my clients can continue to enjoy the app that I recommend as often as I can at all my classes. Transfer of files not easy. I got a new device and had to transfer each recipe separately because the program has a glitch. I love to use the recipe box but I think it needs to have a serious update.

Problems since recent update. The shortcut keys at the top when entering a new recipe no longer work. They used to but not anymore.

Love the app but zero support. I find the instant import never works. I’ve emailed questions with no reply. I don’t think anyone is on the other end. For an app you pay for, I expected more. I would recommend it more if not for these problems.

Problem. With recent IOS upgrade unable to enter yield amounts. Will paste something from ingredients into yield, very frustrating.

From 5 stars to 2. I used to love this app but the latest updates have made this great app just barely ok. Problems are: - I can no longer import recipes from popular recipe sites. Why on earth did you remove this fabulous functionality! - the special keyboard with fractions and common measures like Tbsp no longer works - I can no longer go from viewing the recipe to edit mode. I have to go back to the index, re-find the recipe and enter into edit mode from there. - I can still save the recipe source when I’m creating a new recipe but I can no longer see or go to the source once the recipe is saved If I hadn’t already saved so many recipes back when it was a great App, I would delete it altogether.

Wonderful, Compact Way to Carry My Recipes. This is a wonderful way to carry all my recipes with me in a well organized, easy-to-use app. Categorizing recipes is easy. Searching is easy. Importing is easy. Determining what ingredients to buy is easy. Love this app. Thank-you to my sister for introducing this app to me!

Love the App -- But.... I love this app, however, there are a few things happening lately.... I have to double click on some the the categories (Course, Prep, Total time, etc.). Would be great if we could type the recipe title, then tab to the next set of preferences. I have hundreds of recipes in this app so I don't want to start another, more user-friendly, one.

Buggy and no app support. This app used to be one of my favorites. I have had several issues with the app over the past year including unable to sync between devices and the app crashing. I have contacted support many times with no response. The last email was just a question "Are you still supporting this app?" Still no response. This used to be a great app. I wish someone would buy it and start supporting it again...sigh...

FINALLY I Am able to sync recipes on my iPad with my iPhone. I have been trying to accomplish this for years so I can pull up recipes while I shop. Great update. My only complaint is the original instructions to reboot your router if the sync wouldn’t work when it was clearly a software problem.

New updates. I am so happy that this potentially awesome app is finally being updated. Have been using it and copy, pasting recipes etc. Hopefully now It will run smoother. Have loved this app since it started and hoped it would be kept up. So glad it’s finally being updated!

Love this App. This is my favorite recipe app and I’m thrilled it is finally updated!!! When it was getting dated, tried other apps but kept coming back to the old one. Other apps are just too commercialized. One suggestion for the next upgrade is to have an option to include the recipe photo when sharing a recipe. Thank you for updating this app!

Love it!. I love this app. I've used it for several months. I used to see a recipe and plan to try it later, but would always lose track of it. Now I can easily import them, note them as a new recipe to try, and easily find them again. It is also easy to modify ingredients or directions to my family's tastes.

NEW VERSION. I just opened the app to find it newly updated - and all the functions work again. I can print the recipes; I can email recipes. I’ve had this app for years, and the functionality of it quit working years ago. I can’t wait to try the new version

Instant import problems. I have used this app for a number of years, but I am now very frustrated that the Instant Import feature rarely works. To me that was the best feature, and I miss it. I don't see any responses from the developers regarding this issue. I looked at the list provided on the app support page, and many no longer work, e.g. Taste of Home. The entire recipe imports into the Ingredients column.

Short cuts don't work. Sometime awhile back , must have been update, but the number keys & short cuts for cup, tblsp, oz , etc will not work on my new iPad. So makes me work harder in having to use my keypad and spell out tblsp, cup, oz, etc. I use to love that quick short cut, but stopped working. Wish I knew why it won't work anymore and why no one else seems to have that problem, unless I'm suppose to press something to make them work. I'm scratching my head over this problem. But I do love this app.

Great app. Love this app. I did notice lately that some "instant imports" didn't perform but the manual import is fine. For those who miss the picture, editing etc. on the ingredients/directions page, if you tap the title of the recipe it drops down to reveal the picture and other features.

What happened to the features in the app?. I have hundreds of recipes in the recipe box. Loved it until the last few updates. Bummed that this app lost most features. Difficult to enter recipes and find recipes. Unfortunately, looking for another app.

Mixed feelings. I love how this organized my recipes and lets me check off the ingredients and steps as I go. I don’t like how unstable and unfriendly it is for sharing recipes. One should be able to just hit the share button and be able to select airdrop or text or email. This app should also interface with iCloud so One can get recipes on all their devices.

A great app gone bad. I have used this app for several years but lately I've become very frustrated. The "instant import" never works and nobody replies to my "bug reports", which used to always happen promptly. As others have written, the recipe page often freezes up so I can't scroll through my recipe. I hope they will fix these problems. Since my recipes are all on this, it would be a real disappointment to have to give it up.

Terrible. I spend hours entering recipes into this app. It has gradually lost various sections. First the keyboard partially stopped working - no more numbers or cooking terms anymore. That was a couple of years ago. Then the categories feature stopped working. This is the major index that allows you to find recipes I.e. desserts, Salads etc. Even more infuriating it is impossible to communicate with the developers. They seem to have just given up and left their customers hanging. How irresponsible. Words cannot express how infuriating the behavior of the developer makes me.

Great Recipe Manager ❤️. This app is really well thought out. It has all the features I need to keep my kitchen running smoothly, from finding what to cook, to shopping, to preparing. I can access my recipes even when I'm not online and my collection is totally private. I love being able to share with my friends and family, too!!

Locks up in latest update. Love the app but suddenly it locks when editing or trying to change to another recipe. I have to quit the app and sometimes cannot complete an edit. Hope they get this fixed! I'm really wanting to add a photo of my finished product but this is one of the edit locks.

Needs work. I was really happy with the app but lately it doesn't import from many of the listed sites. And then i switched to a different app and and found a real issue with this app. Before i started deleting recipes i showed about 3 gb of storage used. After deleting all the recipes it was still using up about 3gb of storage. Then i even deleted the app and the 3 gb of storage still wasn't freed up. On a hunch i installed a fresh copy of the app and lo and behold it freed up my storage. The app really needs some work.

No Support. I have been using this app for years and could get a recipe within a minute. Today I opened this app with updates. These updates are useless. It doesn’t allow you to capture the picture, if you do not save in between ingredients and directions what you have is lost. Does no one do a check on these things? Don’t even know if this will go to customer support as the last time I tried nothing went through. I would like the previous version back.

I love this App. I have had this recipe app for many years. The only problem is I’m wondering if there is support? Reason I ask is because I have sent in a bug report many times (for instant copying a recipe) and haven’t heard a word :( Also, the degrees symbol doesn’t work. Otherwise, I love this app and continue to use it all the time.

Retired & Cooking More. I have tried several Recipe apps. & was never quite satisfied until I came upon Thr Recipe Box❗️ I really like that I have the app. on my iPad & also on my phone, makes shopping easy. I do wish that it was possible to have a Highlight FEATURE❓ The APP. just works for, I LOVE it❗️

Fabulous. I’ve had the app for several years then it stopped working correctly. I still used it though because the format was appealing to me. Now I am over the moon happy that the app got the attention it needed, and all functions seem to be operating properly. Better yet, none of my recipes were sacrificed with the update. Positively pleased!

Can’t find my recipes. I had tons of recipes saved in my recipe box. Had is the operative word. When I opened my iPad to find a favorite, I was faced with blank pages. My wonderful best saved recipes were gone. Is there any help for this issue?recipes are gone

Great app - or used to be. I love this app, or did until I can’t print from it any longer. I have tried to contact the owner and their site won’t let me email them or provide anyone feedback. Some of the ”keyboard” functions won’t work now either. I am afraid they have stopped supporting this app so I am starting to save all of my recipes - just in case. What a bother.

Backup a problem and support link did not work. The icon switch confused me and I lost some data. The backup they had no longer works. It made me realize that this is database that is pretty but not easily backed up. I decided I just wanted the recipes in a form that time machine could back up on the iMac. Converting to pages documents is a bit of effort but solves the backup problem. In the past, this app seemed to drain the battery. They may have fixed that.

This is not an upgrade. I have been using the Recipe Box app for probably 13 or 14 years. It had not been supported for most of that time, but I continued using the app because I liked the ease of it, the formatting, and it worked well for me. All of a sudden, it’s been revamped and I am so disappointed!! The font is too small and cannot be changed, the web interface is TERRIBLE! It glitches out, loses the text that’s been put in and is just cumbersome and awful. Why or why did you not just leave it alone? It was so much better before you messed with it.

Useful but could be so much better. I have been using this for 5 years but it seems to have many glitches. It no longer will instantly import from any website. The biggest problem is that it won’t sync from my ipad, which I use the most, to my iphone. I would gladly pay to upgrade to a useable version because there are many good things about the app.

Ease of use 5 star, loss of data 0 star. I have had this app for a long time, and I took a hiatus. All my recipes I added were lost. I contacted support two weeks ago and I've still not gotten a reply! My daughter wanted some of my recipes after I'd spent 5 weeks living with them over Christmas while my husband is deployed. This was my go to app, and to find all my data gone... Just awful. Even worse they don't contact someone back, and for an app I paid for... So yea I'll give you one star bc 0 isn't an option. Fix customer service please

The developer needs to update this app. I have used this app, many years and invested a lot of time and energy with my recipes. It says it’s updating but it never has in years. It won’t do instant inserts now it won’t even show the options of copying editing. I need to find another one that works. The developer should either answer question. or do updates on this app. IT DOSE NOT WORK ANYMORE !!!!

Best, Must Try. Edit- no longer able to praise this app. Doesn't function with instant import, random characters with preset measurement choices and no response to any support tickets I have turned in the last 2 years This is the best recipe app out of any I tried. They listen to customers' requests wonderfully and integrate things in updates we've requested. Works without flaw all the time.

Part of the functions no longer work.. This is a great app to collect recipes from a lot of different sources. However, the instant import function has only worked a few times and not at all in the past couple of years. Recently, the photo function no longer searches the web for photos. It's almost as much work as having index cards for your recipes. It needs some tweaking.

No Longer Updated. This is the best recipe app I’ve found, but it looks like it has been abandoned, so in my opinion it’s only a matter of time before it no longer works. I’ve had it for years, and am still using it, but I know I’m just one iPad upgrade away from it not opening. It hasn’t been upgraded in two years.

It came back to life!. This was my favorite app. Then it lost most of its functionality for several years. Now all of a sudden within the last couple of weeks its been revived on my ipad and iPhone. I was able to sync them again, which is wonderful. So grateful! Happy Thanksgiving, it made my Thanksgiving happier for sure. Jean

Never lose a recipe again !. Love this app. I have tried others but this one has so many perks, like printing a grocery list for the items you need to buy. And in most cases, being able to import a recipe from a website. Even enter your own recipes, take a pic of the food and paste into the photo area. Love all of it.

The recipe box app keeps freezing up. This app is so frustrating when Iam on a recipe & in the middle of making the meal the app freezes up. I have to turn off my iPad & turn it back on to get it to work again. I go to the website for help & they say they are sorry for the inconvenience, but they are under repair for several days. Had a recipe all typed in & ready to Save & your stupid app froze up again. I had to turn off my iPad & turn it back on to open my iPad & re open the website. If I did not have so many recipes on this app I would delete it!

App good. However, App doesn’t let you import a lot of recipes. The search bar for web used to be with black lettering on white background. Now it is white lettering on white background. This doesn’t work for me. Have tried everything to change it. Nothing seems to work.

Great update! Love it more.. This app has been my recipe box app for years now. I was happy with it before but this new update is really great. The instant import works amazingly well and I love that it’s integrated and easily accessible from any website in the share menu. And printing doesn’t crash the app anymore! Nice work.

Great user friendly app!. I have used this app for years! I share recipes between multiple devices and with friends. It is terrific! I love the instant downloads too! I haven't figured out how to print my recipes with the photo, I would like the ability to do that too.

Terrific support!. Great app! Will never go back to index cards! Prompt friendly support. Love the instant import feature although the Cooking Channel is not always reliable. Have been using several years now and can't live without this app and my iPad in the kitchen!

Help for sticking problem. I have been using this app for years but hate it when it sticks and I’m unable to scroll through the entire recipe. I have often abandoned recipes because I have not been able to see the entire thing. Well tonight I just figured out that if I go to the email icon, I can see the entire recipe. It is not as nicely displayed as on the main part of the site but is is usable. I hope this helps some with this same frustrating problem.

Love app, but need to keep it updated. I love the app on my iPad and the iPhone so I have the ingredients list when I am shopping. My biggest complaint is that it is not currently updated to work with OS 10 which I think would help with the import function that has difficulty when you try to download a recipe from the web.

Sync recipes on iPhone and iPad. Since the recent update I’ve not been able to add a recipe that I entered on my iPad to the app on my iPhone. I send the recipe to my email and when it’s opened there is no longer an icon to click so I can add to device. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you - MaryEllen

Bug fixes. Thank you so much for this last update! I love this app and use it all the time, and now with the latest update, it works so much better, and I was finally able to link all my recipes on both of my devices.

Good App... needs work. I absolutely love the Recipe Box app. I've been using it for several years now. Lots of good parts in the app. However, there are a few glaring issues. First off, the keyboard eats up more than half the screen. Secondly, the button on the keyboard for "degrees" places an X instead of the degrees symbol. Features I'd like to see... * Support for the split view on ipad pro * A place to put nutrition information. Calories isn't enough. How about Fiber, Carbs, Sugars, etc - stuff on a nutrition label on food packages. * A way to see and append notes while entering the recipe. Currently one has to save the recipe and then click on the notes icon to append notes via copy/paste.

Can't sync phone with iPad. This is my go to app for all my recipes. I input them on my iPad and then sync them with my iPhone so I have all my recipes on me at all times. Great for grocery shopping on the fly. Recently I have been having trouble syncing my recipes. Occasionally I can get one to go on to my phone but it takes some work. Please fix this bug!!! Five stars when this is fixed.

I keep coming back. I’ve tried other recipe apps; but I keep coming back to this one. So many others are tied to specific sites or have awful look and feel. This beats others hands down in recipe display!

App was once great, but no longer. It has been a year or more since I have been able to export a recipe from any site. The secondary keyboard used for typing ingredients doesn’t work either. I have submitted numerous “bug fix” reports to the developer, and have never received a response. Unfortunately, I have many recipes on this app. I was never able to back up on ITunes per the instructions so I fear losing many recipes. I would like to know if this developer is still in business.

I love this app. I have been using this app since the early gen iPads. I am thrilled that the app lives on in the 2021 iPad! I have not lost a single recipe. The Virgo in me loves the fact that I can print recipes out and have a back up of my faves, but I’ve never needed them. You can search the web and pull in any recipe. Great app. Thanks

Developers are AWOL.... This once great app use to be updated on a regular basis. Recipe Box has not had an update for the iPhone since December of 2015. The iPad update is almost just as old. The app's developer has apparently abandoned any further updates, so don't waste your time and money on it. Biggest complaint is that the app will no longer import recipes from the web, or share recipes between devices. This gets very frustrating! New mission, to find a replacement and transfer recipes. Then delete this worthless app off my devices.
