Enough Already! Good Stuff!. I never write reviews, but after reading some for this book and "Don't let the Pigeon..." I had to. I had enough of people complaining about the price and what you get. Apparently to some, developers should give their products away. This book and "Pigeon" are the two best books in the App Store, hands down. A paper book of either is just as much, if not more. Between my 4 year old and the elementary classes I teach, not one kid did not enjoy them.

Kids love it!. When I was a kid, I loved this book. Then in college, I was a pre-school teacher, and those kids loved it too. Now, I'm an ESL teacher overseas, and when I saw there was a digital book, I had to have it! Since I bought this book, some of my young students have read it dozens of times. I let them choose one or two books at the end of the lesson and this one is always at the top of the list. I have just bought the sequel, and look forward to sharing it with my kids. I hope there will be many more to come!

Definite favorite!. We have several other animated books and Disney puzzle books. This is by far my 3 year old boy's favorite! It was a favorite story of mine when I was a child, and I love that he loves it, too. He's lucky to have Grover himself reading the book. Although he loves to watch Dora and Diego, my son does not usually interact with that type of show. with this book, he's answering Grover as well as calling to him when he's not on the screen. It's so fun for me to see him enjoy anything this much!

App okay, here's fix for sound issues. The app was okay. I loved this book as a kid so when I saw it, I had to get it. The transitions between pages seems slow compared to the other interactive books i've bought. The delay is so long that my daughter kept asking if we were at the end. There was also a sound issue that I have seen others have a problem with. **Here is how to fix the No Sound Issue (at least it fixed it for me)** Make sure that the Side Switch is set to Mute and NOT Rotation Lock as found in Settings - > General. I had mine set for orientation lock and would not get any sound. As soon as I did that, I was able to get sound. Hopefully in future versions they will fix that oversight and speed up the transitions.

Classic book is now animated and interactive. When I was a kid, I loved this book. Now the child in my life is captivated by the story as well, only his experience is enhanced with animation and sound effects! Thank you so much for updating this app to work with iOS 11. I'm glad we can continue to enjoy it together.

Monster at the end of the book. Def 5 stars. This is by the far the most interactive and entertaining book/app for children I have come across thus far. My 4 year son never seems to tire of it even 6 months later. Keeps children involved and they feel like part of the story. From tickling Grover to make him let go of the ropes or knocking down a brick wall to c grover's reaction about the mess created. I wish there were more books out there as good as this one. Some are close but none quite measure up.

If I could have 1 wish.... It would be nice if there was an option to read through the book without the animation/audio as well. This would help children learn to read from the book (as it was originally intended). This was my favorite book growing up, and I'm very happy that it is now available on the iPad. Please tell me you will be updating this app to 64-bit soon. It will be terribly sad to see it no longer work after iOS 11 is released.

Awesome rendition of beloved book from my childhood. When I was 6, I was hit by a car and had my jaw wired shut. My mother bought the book for me and laughed the whole way through, encouraging me NOT to laugh because of my jaw. This book has been read to all of my children and my granddaughter. I was curious how they would work the app version and was very impressed. The audio sounds like Grover and the interaction and animation throughout the book is incredibly done. Only once did I think, "I wouldn't have said it that way" to the Grover voice's reading of the text. This is a must have for anyone with children, or wanting to remember their childhood - I fit both categories.

Awful ads. At some point this app got updated to include ads, which have been placed directly over the corner to turn the page. Used to be my toddlers favorite app. Now he can’t play it because all he does it touch the ad.

One of the Greatest Books EVER!. THis is a perfect book for all kids - of any age ... about anticipating and assuming too much - a great lesson even for adults! :-) ... Now read by GROVER - What more could you want? Wave furry blue arms about celebration time! Buy it now and treasure it forever! (BTW, if this app or any app is crashing your iPad (or iPhone), be sure to power it down and power it back up - most times it's just a memory issue).

Happy Dad. Only Sesame Street could create an app that is completely accurate to the book (been reading or having this book read to me for 28 years now-as a child and now to my daughter) and still educational! My three year old really got into it! She knows the book and this is an AMAZING compliment! Totally impressed! Will buy similar apps from same maker and Sesame Street in the future. Careful, more material like this and children will want to read the rest of their lives!!!

Very Well Done!. Grover knocks it out of the park with this one. The animations and voices are true to the original story, and my toddler can’t get enough of it!

Love it! Please Make More!. I loved this book growing up, and this interactive version definitely pulled at my heartstrings. My husband and I hope that when we have kids in the not-too-distant future that we will be able to share our hard copy, and now this interactive version, of this book with them. Grover is my favorite character, and I also loved his "Would You Like To Play Hide & Seek In This Book With Lovable, Furry Old Grover." I think this interactive style would be PERFECT for it. Please make this book in the same style! I hope to see it out in the future! :)

One of the absolute best. A total classic, and the app ran with the magic of the book and is a classic itself! So many hidden gems. Any time I visit my nieces and nephews kids are climbing over me to play/read, and my infant absolutely loves it! For the person who said it needs more interaction, it doesn’t. Like the book, the story is well done it doesn’t need “bells and whistles.” It stands so strong on its own. Please don’t try to “improve” it and ruin it like “Elmo’s potty time” was ruined recently! Just update for compatibility and let perfection be!

Disappointing. I was expecting a lot more to this app. There is absolutely no story to the book. Each page is just another variation on the same, "Don't turn the page, there's a monster at the end of this book". That's not a story. It's the start of a story. Graphically, the app could have used more colors & visuals. Obviously a lot of work did go into this app, but the storytelling needs further work. Also, technically, each turn of the page on an iPad 1 was slow, causing a wait indicator to appear before the next page appeared. The pop-up notes to parents with suggestions is pointless. As parents we can figure out those things out ourselves. Make the pop-ups for the child, not the parent. I do like the character of Grover & would like to see more engaging apps for a child. The developer has much better apps. I would suggest getting some of the other Callaway apps for children before purchasing this one.

Everybodeee Loves This Monster. Oh how I loved this book as a kid. It always made me giggle. But this super, delicious interactive version?! I laughed so hard I cried. I untied knots, pulled out nails and broke through a brick wall. The helpful hints were very well done. I don't have children but really appreciated the effort put in to giving advice and tips for helping children deal with their fears. Buy, claim as your own by putting your name on the bookplate and get ready to greet the lovable, furry, interactive Grover. Listen, laugh and don't be too quick to turn those pages. Tap on Grover for a few extra grovels. I've went through it over and over, shared with multiple adults and yes, this nearly 40 year-old giggles every time.

totally impressed. I am revising my review and giving 5 stars because it is rare today to find a company that truly cares,but these people do. I couldn't get this app to work on my 2nd gen itouch, so I wrote them to ask for help, and they were prompt and courteous in their reply and did all they could to put my satisfaction first. I thank them for the help and wish them every success, because they have earned it.

Perfect iPad Book for Children. I've downloaded a number of iPad books for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. She enjoys them, but they drive me nuts because all she wants to do is endlessly click on all the interactive nonsense. Over and over and over with the little things that make noise, pop up, shake, etc. all the while ignoring the story. This book is different. It has my daughter riveted every time we read it, and the few interactive sections are actually related to the story and truly enhance the story it rather than distracting from it. She was scared and nervous with Grover the first time about getting to the monster at the end. I can't recommend this enough and hope future developers of children's books for the iPad will follow this lead.

cute book poor coding. The book is really cute, and my girls love it. So far they have laughed every time we play it. I wish there was more interaction in the book. For instance, I think the Mickey Mouse Halloween book has more interaction with finding the ghosts on every page and the multiple puzzles that have to be solved. Aside from the page flipping, I think this book only has 3 pages with interaction and the interaction is pretty simple and not very thought provoking even for my 3 year old. My biggest complaint is with the delays between each page. It takes a fair amount of time between pages, and it really ruins the flow and narration of the book. I have seen other books with just as much animation that have a much more seamless transition from page to page. It is worth the introductory price of $1, but I am not sure I would pay anymore than that in its current state.

Well done!. This app has taken a story that was read to me as a child, that I have now read to all of my children and turned it into a beautiful experience for myself as well as my childen, even my 14 year old has fun with it. I brought it to my son's kindergarten class, as the entire class was enthralled. Anyone that has ever read this book would love this app. Now if only they could make an app for Oscar's Book, That would be awesome too!

I wish it worked with voiceover.. I loved this story as a child. And have shared it with other children in my family. However, the only reason I rated it for stars is because it does not work with voiceover on the iPhone, so that blind children can’t interact with it. If possible, Sesame Street, please fix this. All children should have access to this wonderful app.

Monster at the End of this Book starring Grover. Great primary book and enjoyable. I remember this book when I was a little boy.

Great idea, fun animation, but way to slow and laggy.. My kids love this app, except for all the waiting for pages to load, and inconsistent interactivity. This could easily be a homerun if they did some usability testing. I mean come on, blank pages load, you wait for five seconds before anything happens. Buttons show interactivity, then pause it, for several seconds before you can click on them. Then, after several pages of you clicking to make things happen, they just give up on that idea and the book does it without your input. This could easily be a homerun, and my kids did smile throughout, but it is a poor example of useability.

A kid again!!. Aside from being absolutely ADORABLE, this app literally brought me back in time. This was one of my favorite books as a child, and to see Grover come to life - and to be able interact with him - is completely amazing. It pleases me to no end that children of this generation (and future!) will know and love this story as I have. The app itself is beautifully designed and constructed - and very clever. It's easy to use, and I didn't encounter any technical issues. I'm excited to find the MONSTER at the end of the app with the children (and adults!) in my family during the holiday!

Excellent! Now give us the sequel!!!!!. This app is exactly why I bought an iPad. Thank you for making this book into an interactive adventure. I loved it as a kid. It's even better on the iPad. NOW PLEASE GIVE US "ANOTHER MONSTER AT THE END OF THIS BOOK" The sequel that also has Elmo is my son's favorite. We've worn that book out. I know it would be a huge hit as an App. Thanks again for making a great one and we look forward to the sequel (PLEASE!!!!!!).

Fantastic. Callaway Arts also did the Thomas Misty Island Rescue app (how bout Hero Of The Rails? Hint hint) and it's just as great as this classic Grover book I had when I was a child. My 2 year old loves them both. I'm praying that they do more children's apps because they NAIL IT. Great looking, educational and fun. The new update improves upon an app that I already thought was perfect. Major kudos to Callaway. p.s. Avoid the HIT Entertainment Thomas apps out there. They are garbage.

Completely adore this. This book has been around forever and should be on every child’s bookshelf. To have it in an app it’s just wonderful and I don’t even have kids and I’m 57 years old and love this thing. So glad someone had the sense to just let it be read by Grover so you get a full experience and he can interact with all of the challenges he has along the way :-) excellent book for helping a child face their fears. I won’t take a star away for this because it’s just so wonderful but I do wish that the developers would do something to make it possible for children who are visually impaired to have access to this and make it compatible for voiceover technology. Even if they can’t see the pictures, they would understand the side effects and all the expressiveness. This is coming from someone his best friend is legally blind in love this book as a child, and is very disheartened that it can’t be enjoyed. Please consider exploring how that might change.

Fantastic App/Book. When evaluating if I wanted to get an iPad instead of a laptop, I borrowed my coworkers 1st Gen iPad to get a feel for the OS and available apps. He has a son a little older than mine, and when I found his kids app folder, this Grover app was in there. Playing with it for just a minute, this (and a couple of other apps) sealed the deal for me. I just bought and watched the whole thing with my son, and I have to say this is the best children's app that I've seen to date. I will check out the Thomas apps pointed out by a different reviewer, but I pray that more Sesame Street books are released in this format. Fun presentation, funny jokes even for adults, will be coming back to this app again over and over again.

Amazingly great!!!. A rare, rare instance of an app not only being better than the original book, but bringing it to a new level of excellence and interaction. (And as a young child many years ago, I *really* liked the book!) Honestly, this application is perhaps the pinnacle, a shining example of how to improve something by utilizing the basics of the iPad. It brings out a whole new dimension that the book hints at, but could obviously never achieve. Genuine kudos to the developers and Sesame Street for bringing such a great product and setting new standards for our children. My 2-year-old toddler loves this book app, and is easily the one he opens the most.

Grover Audio didn't work initially after install.. Audio for Grover didn't play correctly on our iPAD 2 (iOS5) initially after install from the App store. Background noise played, but Grover's voice couldn't be heard after page 2. Noticed in the reviews that lots of other's are having problems with Grover's audio too. Problem fixed itself after I powered down my iPad and powered it back up. Now the audio plays great and my kids are really enjoying the book. If you experience audio problems trying the power down/power trick to see if it helps.

Better when less expensive :(. I have had this book app for several months now. Don't get me wrong, this is a GREAT app, and I've had no problems. I just noticed that when I came to leave my review, they price had gone way up. I only paid 99 cents. Maybe this was a promotional gimmick to get people to purchase it. Why when there's a great app at a fabulous price does greed have gto set in? All in all, no complaints. Please have more books become apps like this, and KEEP THE PRICE LOW!!!!

WELL worth the money!!. This was one of my favorite stories as a child and now it is even better with this interactive book! I work with preschool children and they are absolutely mesmerized by the interative app and Grover's funny antics. The story is faster paced that many others; only a few sentences on each page keep the kids enthralled. I am eagerly awaiting the sequel with Elmo and Grover: Another Monster at the End of This Book!!! If not that story, then more apps like this one, please!!

Perfect Medium for the Perfect Children's Book. Now this is exactly what I've been looking for! The iPad is a perfect platform for creating a rich, engaging experience with one of the all time best kids' books. And Sesame Street comes through with flying colors. Once I was able to pry it away from my husband, our children completely enjoyed interacting with this book. Before the last update it was a little glitchy, but now it performs perfectly. And at the current 99 cents, it's a steal. I purchased one of the Bert and Ernie books for $3.99 and was completely disappointed with it. But The Monster at the End of this Book is a gem. Nicely done, Sesame Workshop!

Faithful to a classic!. Ad? What ad? There's no ad. I thought maybe they'd updated the app but I just checked & no ad. I know some kids apps need the $ but I'm glad this one is staying pure. It's a favorite of our niece and our family. This app didn't try to rewrite what has always been a favorite on our bookshelf. It's a really faithful version that feels true to the intentions of the writer. Just a really sweet and funny interplay with Grover, with only enough bells and whistles to keep her focused on the story. It makes her laugh every time, a giggle that I can't get enough of. A good segue for us from play and TV watching (Frozen for the 1000th time) to our bedtime book. A ritual that's still paper, by the way.

Enamored. I have a 5 year old daughter with down syndrome. This is her favorite app, and she squeals everytime she sees the iPad: "Mooonster!" We never get tired of this application. As a programmer and web designer, I never get tired of its complete perfection in design. Initially I was annoyed that you had to wait for the page to be read before any further action could be taken, but after thinking about more was glad that my daughter had to wait and couldn't just start poking at everything. It's filled with surprises and little gems that make it interesting on multiple rereads, and is truly just a beautiful application - easy to use, entertaining, and the perfect amount of silliness. Thank you for all the effort and thought that went into making this.

Classic story gets brilliant multimedia treatment. 2.0 Update: I am very happy to finally award a full 5 stars to this app now that Callaway has substantially reduced load times between pages and made it possible to interrupt the long introduction at the beginning. Thank you for listening to customers and improving an already delightful app. Like many other reviewers, I loved this book as a child, loved sharing it with my kids when they were young, and am delighted to see come to life as an interactive app. It really helps to start with terrific content! The production values are top-notch: believable Grover voicing, great sound effects and engaging interactive animations. Callaway has really improved on the original with these additions. The only reason I can't give it an enthusiastic 5 stars right now is that it has some annoying behaviors as an app. Most important are the crashes: even after rebooting my iPad I've had it crash when tickling Grover's tummy and when turning page after untying the ropes. For a kid's app, crashing bugs are unacceptable. Others also rightfully complain about the lag time between pages that mar the immersive experience. And the home buttons should be active always, even during Grover's (long) preamble to a page. Address these concerns and I'll be happy to give it a full five stars.

Love it!. I got this app for free with Starbucks. I downloaded it while my son was napping, and I read it several times! I found it hysterical and I'm 33 but I'm easily entertained😜 my 21 month old is constantly asking for "Grover" the only thing that could make this better is a lock feature (kids and buttons) to keep them from repeatedly exiting the app and wanting it reopened. That's a little frustrating.

NOT WORTH IT. I'm a big fan of the original book, and i think someone could make an awesome application of it for the ipad. this is NOT that application! this app is SLOW and BUGGY (crashes all the time!), but it's also so poorly designed that even if it ran as intended you wouldn't want to use it. the app works nothing like an ibook. feels like a clunky old cd-rom. you're stuck on every page until animations complete, there's no easy way to go backwards, and the pages load so slowly you're stuck looking at a blank page for ever! absolutely NOT KID-FRIENDLY. but if you're a fan of the original at all, the book is NOT ADULT-FRIENDLY either. what a disappointment. even at $0.99 it's NOT WORTH IT. i'm trying to figure out a way to get my money back. AVOID!

Love it. I read this book to my son when he was 2 going on 3. We read it so much that he had it memorized quite early on. It truly is one of his favorite books still to this day and he is 5. We love this app because it is interactive and it takes our favorite story to a whole new dimension. Thank you for making this story into an app. We also enjoy "Another Monster at the End of this Book" book and app. I wish more classics to be interactive apps for his inquisitive mind.

Best Kids Book App I've Seen. The title sums it all up nicely. The best part of this app, in my mind, is the fact that my kids recite it with Grover word for word. I have twins, both of which have speech delays (my daughter only slightly, my son much more so) and hearing them try to work out the words with Grover to being able to recite it if I read them their hard copy of the book is just amazing to me. Even when we read the real book my kids will try to tickle Grover or try to interact with the book in all the ways you can with the app. I wish more app books were like this. I've tried the Disney ones and found them lacking by comparison. Last comment I'll make; I remember this book from when I was a child and being able to share that link to it with my kids is wonderful.

We all Love it. This is a family favorite. We have the original book and love it, in fact I've had it since I was a child. My kids 4 and 2 love this app too. They ask for it over and over. They love the interactive parts. The latest update that makes each page load faster is awesome! Thanks and please make more like this one...maybe something with Elmo.

This game is so nostalgic!. I remember playing this game when I was 2 or something, and I rediscovered it while I was looking at my previously purchased items, I could still redownload it, so that’s what it did! And it’s just as fun as back then! So if your a parent who wants a fun app for your children, download this app now! Or if you really love Sesame Street!

An e-Book done right!!!. This is a perfect example of a book that was meant to be on the iPad. The original book is very cute, but it becomes so much more when you hear Grover actually pleading with you to not turn the pages and when you actually interact with the book to overcome Grover's obstacles. My daughters (4 and 6) love this book and even after reading it 10 times, they still giggle as they read it. My only issue with these types of books is that they become less of a "reading" experience and more like watching a TV show.

Loved it as a kid and my son loves it now!. This was one of my favorite books as a kid and I downloaded the first version on my iPad 1 when my son was 1 year old. Three years later, it is still one of his favorite apps and gets played frequently. I will warn though that it is important to "read" it together a few times before letting your child play it on his own. It can be too scary, otherwise. Calloway makes some fantastic apps and this is one of them.

Favorite book app for kids. This the best book app I've seen for kids. The interaction and animation are top notch. Given a choice, my 20 month old twins and 4 year old almost always choose this book from my iPad. Parent tips are helpful and the interaction is mostly optional (they can just flip the pages and hear the story without having to complete any interactive steps). I think this one is FAR superior to the second one (Another Monster at the End of This Book).

Amazing. One of the greatest kids books ever written is bought to life with amazing animation. It perfectly emulates the original book's illustrations and.. best of all… Grover reads the book out loud in exactly the voice he's had in my head all these years. Daughter LOVED it just as much as I did as a kid.

Great Fun. My Daughter absolutely loves this and wants to go through it over & over again! I read the other comments about the slow response times etc., and for my part, I can say that the version I got (after the late April update) works perfectly - there's a second or two loading time for each page, but that's about it. Well worth the price - hopefully "Another Monster At The End Of This Book" will get a similar release!

Buggy. This app is not very well finished. It crashes continually mid story and lags badly between page turns (at least at the start of the story) which is a shame as the actual content is rather good and reasonably funny.

Sesame Street - the monster at the end of the book. After buying full version and constantly trying to download app it still hasn't loaded. It gets 3/4's of the way and freezes. Deleting and reinstalling has not helped. And No it's not me or my equipment or internet connection, Other apps have downloaded without any problems. Have one very disappointed 4 year old.

No parent read option, slow, can. What a disappointment. The book insists on reading itself to you, which is annoying enough, but it is also slow. You can't jump the title page, which Grover seems to spend an awfully long time on. And please, include a 'parent read' option, I hate that both of us would have to sit there and simply watch it. It's a book, it's meant to be read.

Great fun. Had this book as a kid. This version is even better, allows the child to do more than just turn pages. And who doesn't love furry adoreable Grover?

Cool. Looks great in retina pad and 99cents is right price for even an adult to buy this, to relive childhood memories. I don't know if a company such as Sesame Street should be charging any more than a dollar for these books. Also, the page where Grover puts uh the brick wall, you turn the page in the original and because you were strong enough to turn the page Grover says "you are very strong". However in this one you have to knock the wall down by bashing it first, this changes the meaning of the page for me. Turns a comedic act of strength in the page turning into a just a show of strength in violence. I wish this included the original in original form also.

Amazing. The entire family loves it. Can't get enough. Watch and read over and over again.

Great. I purchased this book for my special needs child and I must say that it was worth every cent! My child really loves to push boundaries and to trick people so having Grover trying to stop him is simple encouragement to just read the book over and over again. I would and will recommend this to my friends. Especially those who are parents of children with autism.

Still buggy - too slow. Sadly there is still an annoying lag between pages and continual crashes. There is no way to skip ahead so you are forced to sit through the entire animation sequence before advancing. This might be 'ok' if the lag wasn't so long - in some cases 2-3 seconds before the next animation begins. The swipe to turn the page doesn't always work either. My 2 year old summed it up as "too slow - keeps crashing"! He does go back to it though so there is potential to make it good. See the pop-out version of Peter Rabbit for a great example of how fluid and responsive the enhanced book format can be...

Pleased and disappointed. I'm a long time fan of the book so I was excited to find it in an app. Every child (from surprisingly varied ages) love it when I read the book to them. It's great that Grover can read the story aloud and act it out. I love how the kids interact to destroy Grover's attempts to stop them turning pages. They also have additional ideas for home activities related to the story. I was disappointed (and surprised), however, that there appears to be no option to use the app as a book I can read myself, at my own pace. Reading TO the kids is where I get my joy from the book. I noticed in the parent section it suggests turning your iPad to silent but Grover continues to appear to read and the words continue to come up at their own pace, and some even disappear. Please add a 'ready by myself' option. Also, the bricks seem to topple on their own without any child interaction.

Need Lag Issue to be fixed. Daughter loves this book, but loses interest really quickly due to the lag issue. If this issue was fixed and the option to turn pages when you feel like it opposed to when Grover has finished speaking would be great and I would definately give this app 5 stars!

Best book ever. I had the hard copy of this story when I was a child in the golden circle series and I remember how great it was. My 5 year old son also thinks this is the bomb! Story is good, animations are basic yet entertaining & it is interactive without being complicated. Worth the purchase.

Wonderful!. My 3-year-old LOVES this app. I really enjoyed the book as a kid in the 80's, but what makes it work so well on the iPad is that Grover speaks directly to the reader. He reacts to YOUR actions, making the interactivity that much more fun :)

It. Bought this for my 2.5 year old and she loves it. She loves the book at certain parts and it's cool how the book is interactive and makes use of the iPad's magic. I wasn't sure if it was worth it but after reading the reviews, thought I'd take the risk and try and I'm glad I did!

Where is the empathy?. I remember this as being a silly, fun book. Grover pleads with the reader not to turn the page. My daughter, however, felt very loving towards Grover and wouldn't turn the page because Grover seemed very afraid. As a Kindergarten Teacher and Mom of two, I agree with my daughter. If someone is in distress, we should listen to their cries for help. This book teaches kids it's ok to scare others. Somehow it just seems wrong to keep feeding Grover's fears Of course the ending works out OK but the road to get there does not encourage empathy for a very frightened Grover.

Terrific. Both of my grandchildren love this book ( 2 and 5 years old). They repeatedly ask to "read it again, grandma" I used to read the original story to their parents in the book form 40 years ago, but the graphics and sound make the Ipad version even better for this generation of children.

A Lovely Story. Don't miss this book! It's more fun than when I read to my kids in paper format 35 years ago. The interactivity is terrific and there are lots of tips and tools on helping your child deal with typical childhood fears, including the inevitable monster under the bed.

No sound!!. There is no sound on this app. Boo to Disney/sesame street. What a disappointment, as my son was really excited about this book -it is one of his favorites.

Amazing!. I was horrified at the steep price for what I thought was just a glorified audiobook. Boy was I wrong! Monster At The End Of This Book was already a household favourite (still had the original book), but this took it to a whole new level! Awesome!. This is what an interactive book should be like. I have two boys, one with autism. It was worth every penny to see them both interacting with the story and each other, laughing and trying to figure out what would happen if they did not follow the story exactly the same way each time. For my son with autism, this app was a great platform for him to practice how to interact with a touch UI. There are other apps for this but this one is very fun. It is helping him build confidence in "playing" with the kind of devices his peers are already very skilled at. Please offer us more of these books.

Favorite. This book makes my girls (5 & 7) howl with laughter. It is a huge favorite that even mom and dad love. Narration by Grover is awesome! Worth every penny!

My son loves it!. My 2.5-year-old loves this - he giggles like a little maniac at Grover’s antics. No problem with performance / crashing, so updates must have squashed all the bugs. Would like to find more ebooks like this one… and longer. Although he’s happy to play this over (and over, and over), a longer story would be great.

i <3 Grover. Loved this book as a child and now get to enjoy it with the kids in a whole new way. The pages are actually secured closed because Grover has tied them or nailed them shut! You then tap on the sparkly parts to break it open! So fun and great for encouraging literacy :) Not sure why all the 2 and 1 stars?? Perhaps before the update but its been all good for us!

Classic. This book is a true classic. It was my favourite book growing up in my early childhood years and reading classics such as this one with my nieces and nephews at a young age really gives a positive childhood experience. Now that I'm expecting my first baby I definitely look forward to exposing him or her to this timeless story. The app itself is very user friendly and I have not experienced any bugs or crashes.

Wonderfully entertaining! Just needs ...... This is a great book and very entertaining. My son kept giggling at every page. One suggestion though is to have a setting so that the child can read it? I turn the sound off and have him read but on some pages, the words disappear. We still love it anyway. It's a nice treat for him before bedtime.

Wonderful!!. I have had no problems with the sound on this ap. My daughter has the hard cover book with Grover and Elmo and was immediately taken with this book- it had us both laughing out loud! She is almost 4 and this book is great for her- an also has self deprecating humor that keeps me and my husband in stitches! This is now one of our favorites, along with Harold an the Purple Crayon and Ladybug Girl

Best ever!. I wish there were more kids' books apps like this one. It is my son's favorite by far. It is actually interactive, with him being able to "tear down" the walls and "break" the boards. Most books only highlight words and call themselves interactive. This is an awesome app.

Great interactive book!. I have enjoyed this book since I was a kid and my son (age 3) loves reading the book as well. We read it many times a day, and when I went to Starbucks it was one of their free weekly apps! Score! He loves this version, it's a great thing to have on my phone when he needs something to keep him busy for a minute or two! When we read it out loud we try to sound like Grover too. Very fun.

Wonderful Book!. I bought this thinking my toddler would enjoy it, and because I wanted to hear it read by Grover. The paper copy of this book has long been a favorite in my family. This app has been a HUGE hit! My toddler loves it, and his older siblings argue over whose turn it is to "help" him read it. Great job with this app!

LOVE IT!. My kids and I all love this app! This was my favorite book when I was a kid and this is a great way to share it with my kids. They want to "read" it all the time. My daughter (6yrs) reads our hard copy now all by herself. Thanks for the great app! It can be a bit slow to load from page to page, but it's worth the wait.

Much more than 'hours' of interactive fun!. My grandsons play with this book for hours every time they come over. The pages of the book have interactive features built in that aren't possible in the printed book (like tickling Grover). My grandsons have favorite pages that they go to repeatedly. I just purchased the second book with Elmo and I hope they enjoy it as much as this one.

A 4. Could easily be a 5.. My 19 month old son loves this application. It's a perfect (animated) recreation of the original book. it's very very easy to navigate through it, so he has no problem using it. The only issue is that it takes a bit too long for each new page spread to refresh. there's a pause after a page turn where nothing happens for 3 or 4 seconds, which in 19-month old time is just long enough to hit the restart button and go back to the beginning, or click the homepage and shut down the application. Correct this hitch, and this application is a perfect way to spend 15 minutes or so cuddling and reading a story. On story and interactivity alone, I highly recommend this app.

Love it. Bought this for my daughter for my ipad 2 that I just bought and she loved it. She laughed and laughed at it and wanted to play it for over a hour but i had to get her off it so i could use the ipad for myself lol! Great buy glad its been updated. My daughter ask to play this at least twice a day.

Awesome for young toddler. My 16 month old LOVES this app. He can maneuver each page and option better than I could have ever imagined! He mocks Grover's animations and knows exactly which page he wants to go to every time he opens the app. There are somewhat frequent updates and the book just keeps getting better (by way of being interactive)!

Delicious!. I'm a balding, paunchy, middle-aged man now, but when I was a kid, I absolutely *loved* this book. The writing, the colors, the book-within-a-book meta theme where you can see the mess of previous pages in the corner of subsquent pages... all these delighted me as a kid in the early 70s. Fast-forward to 2000, and I got a re-print of the book for my boy, and he absolutely loved the book as well. Fast-forward to 2011, and the book is on my iPod! It is brilliant, well-done, and faithfully reconstructed from the dead-tree format original. My boy is way too old for the book now, yet he still asks to see the iPod version. Kids! The app is a little pokey on my 2nd-gen iPod, but it's not a deal-breaker... Highly recommended! Get it now!

The creators did such a good job and my two year old laughs hysterically at every page. Definitely worth the price. Other ebook creators should study this book to see what a successful app should look like.

Your wrong SlugWorthy. I have had this app for 5 months now, and it is always the first thing my son asks for when I let him use my iPad. He "absolutely loves it" and we can't wait for more books, like Another Monster at the End of the Book with Grover and Elmo. hope to see more titles soon. Runs better on an iPad 2. My 3 year old son loves this book! I first purchased it for the original iPad and there was so much lag between pages. That issue is gone when viewed on the iPad 2. Now with the latest update there is a huge improvement in the speed!

Delicious App. My three old grandson doesn't care that this app has a couple of bugs and crashes. It's just a great fun story and experience. He's totally addicted to the brick wall page. He belly laughs the whole time and flexes his muscles when Grover declares that "you are so strong"! What a brilliant app. Fix the crashing bug and I'll bump my rating to five stars from a reluctant four. A lot of app for .99 cents too.

Great interactive app. This app is great. My toddler loves it, but it also helps her 6 year old cousin read along. It's just the right amount of entertaining for the kids but not too annoying for adults. I sure hope they come out with other apps like this one, I'll buy them for sure.

The Monster At The End Of This Book. This is awesome! I LOVE this story. Years ago, I read it to all 3 of my kids. In fact, we read it so much that I had to buy several copies because the pages would get so tattered. Thirty some years later, my daughter found this App. Now I am reading it to my grandchildren. It is very well done and I love the sound effects. Thanks for bringing "The Monster" alive.

Best kids book in the App Store. The fact that kids cant skip pages is outstanding. My son loves to tickle grover and knock down the wall. Great Fun for Big Kidz. We are in our mid thirties and thoroughly enjoyed watching this golden book from our childhood animated. Loved the child psych tips on fear and the "be a better story teller" button in the upper right. Now we can be as cool as the grandpa on The Princess Bride. Love the"school house rock" style art work and how grover's personality is captured, great fun! please keep programming the oldies but goodies! Page turning a nice effect as well.

Love it!!. Got this app for free via Starbucks... On Tuesday's they have those cards and you get free things. Anyway, I Dow loaded it thinking it would be dumb but I showed my 2 year old and after one time of seeing it, she loved Grover and knows how to turn the pages. She knows the words to the "book", too. Easy to use for a 2 year old... Overall best kid app that I have come across so far!!

A joy for the kids. This is one of the best books I have on the iPad for my kids (2 1/2 and 4 yrs old). They love it so much. Sometimes I hear them randomly saying, "Don't turn the page!" They then immediately burst into laughter. This book is definitely worth having for your little one.

Sound wasn't working..... But I emailed support and they said flip the switch on my phone off mute (above the volume bar) and when I did bingo, Grover is alive. I cannot wait to show my 2 1/2 year old. She loved it ever without sound. We read tons and tons of paperbooks and I limit her electronics but this is one with my seal of approval.

Brings back memories. I had forgotten about this book until I saw it on here. I'm 35, and I now remember loving this book as a child. This app really brings the book to life, and if any children's book was made to be an interactive iPad book, it's this one. My 2 year and my 6 year old laughed and laughed. I got it for 99 cents, but it's worth a few dollars, either way. Good Job!

Nicely done, needs a few feature. My daughter loves this book. It was well done. It is missing the ability to resume the book in the same spot. This is a major annoyance. My daughter is always pushing the home button and exits the app. Also, When turning the page the contents load pretty slowly on the next page, even on iPad 2. Speed it up please!

We are in LOVE. This is our family's favorite app so far. We have loved this book forever and the app does it justice! My 4, 6 and 8 year old all love it. We have our fingers crossed thqat they will come out with " Would you like to play Hide and seek with Grover" That book app would be a hoot!!

Super interactive book.. My son is nearly 2 and loves this book. Grover narrates and stars in this book. Grover does not want your little one to turn pages as there is a Monster at the end of the book. He does various things to try and keep your little one from turning the pages. Very cute book. I would recommend it to any little one.

One my sons favorite FINALLY updated. It is a classic Sesame Street book and we have the both the physical book no this digital version. I had basically given up that this was ever going to be updated, as they had last done an update in 2014. I am glad that it is now iOS 11 compatible.

Love this app. I got this app from the Pick of the Week from Starbucks. What a hit with my kids! My 4 year old absolutely loves it and my 7 year old does too (though he only looks at it when his little sister "reads" it). They have been laughing while reading it with Grover. I love how interactive Grover is on each page. Perfect for younger children. What a find! I am thrilled!

Works after upgrade to IOS5. I believe Grover himself does a better job than my parents did reading this book when I was little. My 21 month old son Daniel loves to play and listen over and over together with me. Definitely one of his favorites! I'm holding off buying two until his interest wans a little from this one, but I'm sure it will be worth the money!

Very good use of his cognitive development. You also don't need internet to run this app too so that's also a plus! Works great on the iPhone 4s...no freezing, etc. Its worth the download, free or not!

Great App (after I figured out how to make the sound work!). Loved this book as a kid! :-) So glad to be able to share it with my sons. In regards to those who had no sound, try locking the orientation in the horizontal mode (there's a slide button by your volume controls). That worked for me!

Best sesame app. More an animated performance than a mere reading, this book is adorable, and is my 18 month year olds go-to iPad app. Over 50 viewings, with no end in sight. I only wish other Sesame apps were as well-produced as this. Got it free through Starbucks and immediately bought other sesame apps, and none even came close to this one. Oh well....

No No to Turning the Page. My 3.5 year old listens to instructions and/or gets scared too easily because he would not turn the page when Grover said not to turn the page. Attempted to do it together and he refused; however, he did stare at that one page for about 10 minutes watching Grover be scared of turning the page.

Adorable book.. We have had the book for a while and love that it gets updates still and runs better and better. Very interactive, my son's favorite book. We still read regular books to him as well but this is a great alternative that helps him play independently. And is great for road trips.

Worked well for class.. I read this to my class (4/5yrs) and they collectively laughed so HARD that I started laughing, as well as another instructor. Sound effects are also complimentary to the Grover's narration. Be sure to check out the section for parents as it offers numerous tips to make the story more engaging for both adults and children.

Deserves a review. My four year old boy loves this iPad book. The monster story is a terrific example of 'next generation' story telling, and what this new format is capable of. The story invites the reader throughout the story to interact with Grover to keep turning those pages. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a child who loves the crazy blue super G. Five stars, EASY.

Enjoyable but frustrating. Loved it ! Very good illustrations, really cute, and lots of fun for little ones and hilarious for adults too. The sound only worked on some pages and it took me 4 tries to get to the end of the book because it would stall and than go back to APPS icon page on my IPAD. I don't know what the problem was. I understand this app is memory intensive, but did not have any other app running on my IPAD so that should not have been a problem.

The Monster at the End of this Book. My 22 month old grand daughter loves this book. She plays it over and over again and knows how to knock things down and how to tickle Grover. She cannot wait to "play games" on her GB's I pad. The only thing better is the new one that came out with her favorite monster ELMO!!! My grand daughter is having more fun with my IPad than me! A must have for grandparents!

Great App and Love the Interactivity. The graphics and story are great. I only wish that it offered more because once you've gone through the story a few times there's nothing much else to it. But the same can be said for a standard book but this pricier. I look forward to future books and improvements.

Best kids iPad book ever!. my 2 1/2 y.o. son has to read this book every night. He laughs out loud on every page and smiles through the entire thing. As a parent, the interaction and graphics are far above anything else I've seen. hopefully other developers will follow this example.

Wonderful. I purchased this app for use in my classroom, I teach special Ed and all of my students love it. The book was a favorite for my 4 children. When I saw it for my iPad I just had to have it. The app and story is very engaging and all the kids love it. Our classroom is a multi-age and the app is loved by all the children from 4 - 12 years of age.

4 year old loves it. We bought this (the original) after the second book with elmo, and he loves that too. They both are based around the same plot but have different activities so he is still interested. I'm happy with the purchase as is my son. He reads it every night.

39 years young and this is still my favorite book!. I LOVE this book. I love reading it to my children. I get a bit dramatic and silly with it. This app brings the book to life in a big way. Watching Grover act out the book is terrific fun. I really like the way the developers added reader interaction with Grover. Of all the apps on my IPad, this is my favorite.

Great app to help increase attention span!. I'm a pediatric occupational therapist and have have amazing results using this app with my 2 and 3 year old patients. I have had patients who usually only tolerate 5 to 7 minutes on one activity and are able to interact with this book for 30 minutes or more! Great book, my older kids love it too!

There are only a few book apps like this. My boy loves the animation. Not enough books are doing this. Animations are often to shot or cheap. The only other book I have found like this is Little Bella book and our favorite Goosed up Rhymes. this book is a proud new addition to our library. Thanks for the nice low price.

Just like I remember!!!. This is just a great book. My mother used to read this book to me when I was a kid and she did a very convincing Grover. Now I can let my kids read this and still enjoy it myself. (Of course I don't have to mimic Grover and make my voice hoarse.) Over all a great book all together. Highly recommended!!!

Favorite with 6 year old, 3 year old, and 43 year old in family. My 6 and 3 year olds both love this book. The younger one played it over and over again for two days. The story, animation and interactive features are just perfect -- simple yet engaging enough to keep both of my boys and me interested in reading this book over and over again with each other.
