InquirerPlus Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Waste of money and time!!!!!. If it's free....free...

Not free, a rip off!. When it was actually free, it was barely worth reading and now they're asking you to pay just because of a little change in the interface and graphics?! Lipstick on a pig!! Like the majority of people are saying here, this is a waste!! Inquirer, get your act together!!

No proper sharing function. It's such an expensive service you would think they would be able to allow the iOS sharing that includes more than Facebook, Twitter and email. At the very least an "open in browser" function so that we can use the sharing capabilities of our browser.

Forget it. Not free!!!

Five star!. NOT, only if they pay me $99.95.

Why do we have to subscribe?. Please apply the Google and Yahoo principle.

Great App. I love it.. This is a review of someone who actually signed up for the 14 day subscription for the iPad. I have to say that I loved every single issue. I've been abroad for 3 years and I don't have access to Philippine news aside from the websites and TFC, so it was quite refreshing to actually get all the content along with the layout, editorials and even the funny pages on my device. It's not so different from subscribing to the digital versions of Cosmo and NatGeo magazines that are offered by Barnes & Noble. Yes, you can read the headlines online for free. That's true. But to say that the app is a rip off would be unfair. First off, the app in itself is FREE. Plus there's a 14 days/issue trial subscription to see if this version will work for you and your lifestyle. And if you think it's not worth the buck(s), then that's it. There's no obligation to continue, no subsequent charges on your credit card. In fact you don't need to input your credit card info to avail the trial subscriptions. But If you do decide to subscribe, the subscriptions in itself are cheaper than subscribing to the paper-based newspaper. Based on local prices, a paper based PDI issue costs 20 pesos. The digital edition, only 14 pesos. They've already taken out the paper and delivery costs out of the price, reducing their carbon footprint as well. The 14 pesos is for the content... the talent of its writers and production staff and the whole shebang effort of producing timely news. The PDI digital edition gives you more than the headlines. It gives you everything they have on the actual paper version of the newspaper. You will get even the local news in the provinces, the editorials, obituaries, the job openings, comic strips... even the ads! This is something you don't get for free on the website. I for one felt nostalgic when I saw the telecom ads and the theater listings.... So how is this a "RIP OFF"? You can set it up so that when you open the app, the latest edition will download automatically via wifi. Once downloaded you can read the newspaper offline, while commuting or while you're having your breakfast and coffee. But if you don't own a tablet or a compatible device, you don't like reading on one and if you only want to read headlines then this service is not going to appeal to you. No one is forcing you to buy the digital editions. You don't have to use this if you don't want to, but it's there for people who do. Ultimately, it all depends on your lifestyle and your needs. Personally, I enjoy reading on my iPad and I like the content. I will definitely subscribe to their service even if it's 9.99 per month.

Seriously!. USD 9.99 per month! I don't think so. *delete*

FREE?. I do not think so. It is free to download, then you get hit with the truth, as it were. The price to enjoy this paper ranges from, $9.95 to $99.95.

Does not work. It does not work after the update. It keeps on crashing and it does not even allow me to sign in using my registered account. I'm giving this a 1 star since this time this apps is USELESS.

It's a joke. I would not even pay $9.99 for a year subscription.

Perfect. $9.99 is a perfect price for a month of subscription. If you compute and think about it, it's like Php14 only per newspaper a day for 1 month.

Not Totally Free, Unlike ABS-CBN Free iPhone App. Why can't Inquirer offer a simple version of a smart phone or tablet app like ABS-CBN's iPhone app that is predominantly text in content and has minimal graphics? Is the development cost for Inquirer's app content the reason they charge for a subscription? To be fair I suppose Inquirer has little cross-selling advantage unlike ABS-CBN, which in turn benefits from offering a truly free smart phone and tablet app because it encourages users to explore their other media outlets.

@?!$&!. @?!$&!

Waste. This is a deceiving app. Nothing free except the download

Ripped off!!! Stupid app!!!. This is deceiving! Typical Filipino! You only scanned the newspaper and even saved from printing papers so why pay this stupid digital copy.

Mr. Forget it

Doesn't work after the update. Worked great before the update - now it won't even start!!!

Latest version does not work. I upgraded and now I cannot get an issue downloaded. It says downloading catalog but nothing happens. Even the two extra tabs on breaking news, etc., don't work! FIX THIS!

No Star!. The "least I could do" is a star... It should have been a no star... I guess this department in PDI is dying... I would pay if the price was reasonable... What is reasonable? No paper used(Subtract that)... Lots of advertisements(Should at least give a discount)... No delivery logistics... There are lots of reasons for a digital copy to be at least a quarter of the paper copy... I hope somebody high up there is paying attention...

Yikes. 9.99$ for a PowerPoint presentation like news?

It's not FREE. Useless.. Downloading the app is FREE; however you need to purchase the contents so there's really no point. AND IT'S NOT FREE.

Free?. No point having a free app if the content isn't free. I don't mind paying for content, but you need to be up front in the app store about the costs so I don't waste my time!

Useless app if you don't want to purchase content which is available free in the Internet anyways.. Useless for me.

Horrible. not free
