Sounds Like Bowels. As an app that replicates singing bowels and other mediation bells this does exactly what it is supposed to do. Not a horribly complex app but of you are looking for a bowl playing program get this one.

Great Meditative Experience!. I'm not sure that potential purchasers understand these bowls and bells are used for meditation in Tibet. If you close your eyes and spread the fingers of one hand over the screen and slowly move your hand around, it's calm and peaceful. When you do that, you will interact with several of the bowls. When you stop, the overtones go on for some time as they very slowly fade out. As the product description says, headphones are best. Highly recommended!!!

transcendent!. I love this app. It's simple, and the sounds are beautiful. There isn't a lot to it, but the phrase "less is more" applies to this. I LOVE it. You have to hear the sounds, and let them carry you away...

Soothing Melody. This application is quite amazing. It allows you to create soothing and relaxing sounds. I play it a few minutes several times a day to relax and focus. I find it extremely helpful at work in times of stress. Part of the relaxation comes from the creative process. It needs a record and playback feature.

The Sounds are close to the real thing!. I love this app. Even though the feel is not there, the sounds are so close that, with eyes closed, I couldn't tell the difference! It is a wonderful tool in healing situations!

Tibetan Bowl App. This is a great app. I also have a CD of Tibetan Bowls. You can actually play the bowls along with the recording for an enhanced effect. I like the way the sound continues for a long time after you tap or swirl the bowl. I also like the chimes, gongs, and bells.

Wonderful app. This is a great app for both the small screens and the big ones. Great sounds and it is a very expressive instrument.

Very relaxing. I find this app very relaxing. I use it when I'm having trouble sleeping. It would be great if the tones lasted a little longer or had a recording function, but I enjoy it as is.

Lovingly done.. For those who enjoy the peace of zen brush or iZen garden. Or if you want to sound the bowl before or after meditation. You can hear the resonance continue to resonate with or without earphones. It really is like you are sounding authentic Tibetan bowls. There is only the one screen with multiple bowls plus some little chime bells and larger zen-like gongs. The bowls illuminate when sounded. Extremely simple, quite wonderful. Thank you!

Terrific sounds. Good app for making beautiful music for working, yoga, meditation, etc. some problems are that it keeps throwing me out when I record and sometimes won't play the recording or repeats or doesn't repeat or shuts down if my device has a sleep setting. But I really love it's simplicity and sound.

Love this app!. I love this app but you cannot record your music and listen to it later. I got it initially to be able to listen to bowls while I work. I had to download a hypnosis app to listen to that but I wish this app gave the option to record like 5 10-min (10:00) tracks.

Fun App!. What an incredibly cool app! I love the way you use the user interface to make the sounds and they do respond to the way you touch or strike the various instruments. I love the fact that you can record your sessions. I would make a suggestion for a future upgrade. The instruments given are high to mid range in pitch. How about some instrument palette variations as an add on with wider variations in sounds, and at least one palette with some deep toned bowls? Deep tones are usually more soothing than high pitched ones.

Love It!. I almost didn't get this app because of the "abrupt" comment left by another reviewer. I haven't noticed any abruptness...but I'm not a sound guru either. Anyway, the app works ok for me, and I am having a pleasant reaction to the tones. They almost work like the real ones. So I am very pleased that I took the chance and got this app...no telling when I'd have dedicated money set aside just for a set of real Tibetan bowls. (Probably never, but a girl can have dreams.)

Relaxing!. Almost as good as the real Tibetan bowls and I like that you can record with this app. I highly recommend it.

Very nice. Well done. Nice sound, very relaxing. As others have mentioned, a recording feature would be nice but it's a five star in my book either way.

Review. Worthwhile app if one enjoys the sound of Tibetan bowls. I would give it a fourth star if there were several more bowls with different tones and a fifth star for a built in recorder so that we could create our own music. As is, I don't think it's worth the 2 bucks.

Serenity. I like the singing bowls. I wish you had. Added. A few large gongs. Also the sound of the bowls cut out before it reaches absolute stillness. The following of the sound into stillness is the purpose of the bowl. I like the app a lot but it could be improved

Was hoping for something else. Nice, but basic musical instruments. Had hoped that it would play by itself as background music, but lacks that functionality. Nor can it record a session.. In short, music only plays as long as you do.

Lovely. The sounds on this app are quite remarkable. The only difference between this app and my own singing bowl is the volume and "ethereal" resonance. Other than that, it's wonderful!

Great app. The iPhone Bowls was very good but the HD version is outstanding on my iPad. Having all the instruments on one screen greatly enhances interaction and immersion in the tones. Support is fast and helpful.

I love this app!. This app is wonderful and the amazing combinations of sound are awesome. You can actually hear the oscillations of the singing bowls when you slow down, speed up, or change the direction of the swipe. My colleagues also love this app and many have bought it as well after playing the bowls. Very fun.

Wow Fantastic. The sounds are unbelivable and mix together beautifully. It would be ice if you can record some of it and let it play while meditating. Anyway is relaxing for the mind and gets you closer to spirit.

Rating of Prayer Bowls (Tibetan). Most excellent application. The bowls were in appearance and sound identical to those bowls which it has been my privilege to attempt.

Musical and meditative. I can see several wonderful uses for this app. I love the sounds and the authenticity. I can't wait to check out recordings of tibetan bowls and try to emulate them. I have already did one multitrack recording with my guitar and this app and it sounds great!

Great for what it does. Needs play back.. This would be a truly awesome app if it could auto-generate music with the bowls, and/or if it could record and play back a session. Please provide updates!!!

Beautiful app! Amazingly authentic sounds!. Not only is this great to prepare for yoga or meditation, but it's stunningly beautiful as well. Sounds just like real bowls without having to carry them around with you.

Long Time Favorite. I have always loved this app. I now find myself wishing it had audiobus support. This could solve the issue many people seem to have with wanting to listen without playing as they could route the audio to one of the many recorders available to create a library of their own performances. I see many musical possibilities with the app that I would love to explore if I could route it to effects or capture the audio. Audiobus would make this app a very useful tool for me. *update* Still one of my favorite apps and they just updated it to continue to work on modern hardware and new versions of the OS. What a great developer!

Infinite sustain - no mute. Please adjust the touch response the bowls to have a more realistic decay on the sustain after you stop interacting with them. Also, being able to mute each bowl by touching it without moving your finger would be very helpful. At least provide some way of stopping each bowl.

Even went to Tibet with me. Great app and helped me introduce the concept of singing bowls to my fellow travelers! Recommend it highly.

Great way to meditate. This is a great way to relax, it's one of my favorite meditation tools. Great app, I have the iPhone version as well, but the iPad version is my favorite.

Got it all. This is an "expensive" collection of meditation instruments! Good sound, easy to "play," portable. Only thing missing is tactility, but we always give that up in virtual experience. I love it for what it is and highly recommend it

Almost amazing. Love this app, and it is so close to being usable. All it needs is a record function and a better recording of the bowl tones. Right now they end too abruptly to be usable. Greats job....just a little tweak and you have something special.

Not satisfied. I know it says " best experienced with ear buds" but that is the ONLY way it can be experienced. Even with earbuds, and the volume as high as I can set it, it is difficult to hear the sounds. I do not understand why these bowls can't be heard without earbuds or hooking the IPad to an external sound system. I do not have this problem with other instrumental apps.

Nice little app!. I use this instead of my real bowls sometimes. Needs a Tibetan horn though to be complete. Can store as well as strike the bowls in traditional Tibetan way..

Not in full HD (forget retina). The app itself I love. I had it on my phone for years, and it is a truly peaceful experience. The new layout of having all the bowls and bells on one page gives it a lot more options for experimentation. However, the title saying HD is quite misleading if you are looking for razor-sharp graphics on your new retina display iPad. Sure, on the iPad 1 and 2 it would be the device's full resolution, but the 3rd and 4th generation iPad (I have the latter) has 2048x1536 pixels, and this app is nowhere near that. (The iPad 2 is 1024x768, and that's still not "full 1080HD".) It's just disappointing is all.

Bowls HD. Very useful and cool app. I love the sound in bowls and have been using them in yoga class for years...this app makes it possible to take the bowls with me in various class settings.

Update coming?. More bowls? Record? Configurable layout in edit mode? Ability to stop the bowl sound? Some of the samples are a little static-y too. It would be nice to have them cleaned up. Could be .99 for what is essentially about 15 sampled sounds. Nice sounds, but that's all it is. Considering what some other free apps give you.

Very realistic. I have wanted to purchase actual Tibetan bowls from one of my yoga teachers...they were extremely expensive...Now I have an entire collection for nearly nothing! Very good sound. Meditatve and relaxing.

Tibetan Bowls. I'm feel lucky 2 have acquired my own complete set of beautiful, genuine Tibetan bowls which r exquisitely made to look & sound absolutely wondrous. I enjoy using this iPad app, as it offers sounds that remind me of my very first 2 singing bowls I purchased almost 16 years ago. Overall, it's a gr8 app. I enjoy using my iPad 2 generate sounds from this app cuz that's how singing bowls work irl

Amazing sounds. I have tinksha and singing bowls. These are quite good. Love the large gongs. Wish the tinksha were longer sounding as real ones are. Have some problems with the sound sometimes being on and sometimes off. Can't figure out why.

Good app but could be better. Bell sound is good. The addition of a timer to repeat the sounds automatically would be nice.

Rip Off. I can't believe I let the reviews and five stars influence me. Way too expensive without getting anything but a headache. Look at Bloom or anything else. Wish there was a demo, uninstalled in 30 seconds.

Waiting on iOS 9 update. LOVE this app, but it broke with iOS 9. The website says, "We are currently working on an update for Bowls to address this issue and hope to release it in the coming weeks." Work faster, y'all! This is my go-to meditation app and I miss it.
