Good app experience. Overall, the AO app is smooth and usable. Navigation and visual design are nice to use. A blocking app update in the middle of the open to update the finals schedule was surprising. Surely an app that’s used for 2 weeks a year shouldn’t need a hard update during those 2 weeks?

Live activities notification should have been in this year. Live activities notification should have been in this year.

AO2024. Most exciting! Best matches! Unbelievable fans! And need I say this App, makes it so much better! Real time updates! Real stats! Truly the best App for Tennis! All other Majors need to take a page out of AO2024’s book! Only downside to the Aussie Open: Losing sleep! I’ve gotten, maybe 2 full hours sleep since opening day January 13th! But then again, I can get enough sleep, when I’m dead & gone too! 😊 Thanks 🙏 AO2024! 👏👏👏

Love the updates. I always keep an eye on the tennis majors across the year by TV and phone app. This year’s update to AO app was amazing! The highlight features make catching up on key events are very helpful and quick by scroll/swipe/tap. I loved reading about all the new food and chef collaborations and is one more reason I want to travel down there as soon as I can. Also, tracking who is playing and when is always straightforward on the app. Thanks for all the hard work and keep it coming (just please don't throw ads on this baby and kill the whole experience)

The best tennis app ever!!!. Very well built, easy to navigate. That’s a great addition to the best of the 4 Grand Slams, period

Great Australian Open. This is one of the best Australian Opens overall in the quality of matches in a long time. Really missing our #1 guy tho.

Better video highlights this year!. Ease of access through the draw to each highlights. Some are 7 full minutes, others are the traditional 3 min and change. Enjoying the AO!

Delayed match / draw updates. Matches and draws updates are up to two days late

News link broken. All of app seems to be working EXCEPT when the news link is chosen. Then the videos start randomly playing and can’t be stopped. Or the screen turns black altogether. Why is there an issue every year?!

A Great App. This is a great app. It facilitates seamless access to all the information on AO 2023 that I need. It’s very user-friendly.

No ticket sales on this app!?. There is a lot of info and plenty of links to shop but no ability or direction to buy tickets. Shouldn’t that be a basic.

User friendly. Very easy to use! Smooth interface.

Missing the night matches. ESPN is not proving television coverage of the night matches, which are always the most important ones. This is extremely disappointing and not the way one expects a grand slam tournament to be covered. Shame on you ESPN.

Hideously horrible app. The Australian Open app is hideously inadequate, frustratingly quirky (I was just trying to read an article and a video montage continuously popped up. I finally gave up on reading the article.) The apps for the other three grand slam tournaments, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and sublime to ridiculous U.S. Open, all have a similar consistency and access to information, and quite frankly, a more elegant appearance while being more comprehensive. For example, I have tried for almost a week to access the player post match press conferences and still have not found them. Based on utility and functionality, this app deserves less than one star.

Disrespectful Kyrgios and his followers.. I am extremely disappointed in the way Kyrgios behaves and entices the crowd to disrespect his opponents and it should not be allowed. There is no place for this in tennis and it is something that needs to be addressed. His behavior against his opponents in his doubles matches is completely unacceptable. Shame on him and the Australian Open for allowing him to get away with it.

One missing thing. Need a non metric option

Latest version 23.1.5 feels laggy. Scrolling through scores does not respond well. Choppy and not smooth scrolling. Closing out the app is also slow and laggy.

The PDF file of a draw is missing. A printed version of a two page PDF file of a draw is convenient to read and follow favorite players from one round to another. Otherwise, it is easy to browse through the site and, the great improvement is introduction of Device Time Zone.

Why won’t this download. Keep trying to download to my iPhone… not happening.. c’mon mate.

Favorite Players. Does not give push notifications on your favorite players 👎🏽

Thanks. Great job on the information online

5-star tennis site!. This is the best, easiest to navigate site of all the slams. You set the bar high. I hope the other three events can match your excellence during the rest of the tournament season.

Great app to keep you “in the know”. Great app overall to keep you updated on all the action. Definitely recommended for avid tennis fans. Would love to see more stories featured on the main page.

Australian open. What a great app to keep up on current news stats and scores.

Adequate. How much time would it take to provide the career highlights and rankings of wheelchair and quad athletes in the draw? There aren’t that many of them.

Very little ESPN coverage for me to watch. I have seen almost nothing of the matches.

Not the best, not the worst. My go to for just vanilla scores or to find out match times is the Yahoo Sports app. It is very frustrating that AO doesn’t by default show match times. This was written on Wednesday night in America, the Coco Gauff Aryna Sabalenka match is on the splash screen — but no time! So frustrating! I realize sometimes matches are approximate times, but any indication would be useful. This match actually has a actual start time — show it to us!! The stats are a useful accompaniment if you are watching the match on TV.

Best AO app ever. The improvements made in the 2022 Australian Open app are significant. I’m really enjoying it!

Great to filter out junior scores and results. Thank you to AO for the ability to filter out junior matches in results and live scores. Especially in early rounds, the scoreboard gets cluttered. I hope other Grand Slam apps follow AO’a lead.

Not seeing matches like we did years ago here in the USA. Very difficult to see matches here in USA Need to have tennis channel do more coverage Otherwise enjoyed app

US coverage is lousy!!. The app is great and easy to follow. My issue is how viewers on the east coast (EST) are being treated regarding matches we get. One has to stay up til 1am to see a mens match. It truly has been unbelievable!!

App is great but…. The app is great and full of great information. Please add scores by set and who won the match at the end to your notifications. I like to follow and don’t always have time to go and search for the results I want. The US Open app does this and I love that. Thanks for considering.

Notifications don’t work. Since the beginning of tournament the notifications do not work. Have updated iOS version, updated AO app, notifications turned on in both phone settings and app preferences and have yet to receive a notification from the app about news or favorite player matches. Very disappointing.

Favorite Grand Slam App!. The team does such a great job with this app, adding features every year. Of the Grand Slam apps I think this one is the best especially because of AO radio and “ask the booth”.

News-must scroll through old news to get to current. This is a great app and I am using it daily. However why does the news show the oldest news article first. Time to move the old to the end of the list.

Room for improvement. LOVE the filter by event option in the Scores (live and results) section!! Only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is a glitch on one particular match this tournament where the point scoring and player serving was stuck and would not update - but the game scores would update. So it showed the same player serving at 15-40 for the rest of the match, despite the game score (2 games to 1, then 2 all, etc) updating as each game was completed.

Spoilers on splash screen. Very disappointed to open the app and unavoidably be shown the results of the main match on the home page. Not cool if you’re unable watch any event live.

Great app for Melbourne’s Slam. This app is great for following all of the action in Melbourne. Match audio on the show courts is great, and the navigation icons on the bottom make it easy to get around and find information.

Love it.. I love this app. So great to get the latest scores and keep track of all that’s going on. Also using it to learn each nations flag. Love it. 💕💕💕💕

Get a better scorer. I’m watching via AO app a girls Juniors 2nd round match, and the amount of flip flops scoring wise is ridiculous. What is it? Is it 5/2 or 4/3?

Is there a dark background option?. App works great overall. Wish there was an option for a dark background. Especially, When I check scores or the schedule of play at night, the light background is extremely bright at night. Would like the option for a light or dark background. Then would give 5 stars.

Stopped updating. About halfway through the tournament, the app stopped updating any scores for me, or there were just a few random updates. I deleted the app and re-loaded it…it still has no scores for the women’s event or men’s doubles. Then I checked today, and some of the earlier rounds’ scores had disappeared. This must be more about the data feed than the app, but it’s awful. I just started using one of the betting site’s tournament scores and schedule because it’s so much better run than the official app! Really poor form. [cue the same dismissive automated response that every other negative review gets]

App OK but features missing. There’s no way to unlink your Ticketmaster account other than deleting the app, which causes you to lose all of your favorites and other settings.

Notifications not working. Notifications aren’t working. I have all of the notifications turned on in preferences and I have ensured the settings on my device are set to allow notifications from this app but I haven’t gotten a single one.

Disappointed again. I do not like this app! Not easy to navigate once again. There is good info but awful to find.

What happened this year???. So many times i couldn’t get updates. Several mornings, the scores from previous night weren’t visible. Very clunky this year. And what is with showing the score before it’s even played on the TV? If only I could place a bet!

Draw Viewing. Great app! Only critique is that the draws are a little difficult to view prior and subsequent rounds. Everything else very user friendly and succinct.

Bad app this year. The app is not working this year. It will not let me look at results or the women’s draw. It keep saying try again. All in all it make the app unusable.

Details info. Very helpful with the info

Can’t watch video highlights. The app automatically plays the last few seconds of random interviews, but it only shows me match highlights as thumbnails that don’t play. I have to go to the website on my phone’s browser and watch the videos there … not ideal.

Disappointed Canberra fan. Why does Djokovic get preference to other players when he serves past the clock and the referee want give him a warning I have watched other matches with djokovic and when he got a warning he tried to intimate the referee Isn’t the AO supposed to be a level playing field for all players Is the AO establishment intimated by Djokovic

The best App for tennis scores and information. Very good app, can see the scores info and everything very clear, app is very easy to use and manufacture. RECOMMEND!!

Good. Could be improved by making the layout and information available more intuitive.

Bring back previous seating rule. I attended the AO with my two sons, on Wed 17th Jan. We had seats in Margaret Court Arena. I have attended the AO for many years but I am disappointed that the rules have changed regarding people entering the stadium during games without end changes. I found this very disruptive, and very annoying, when we were trying to watch a game. People in front of us stood up to let others pass them in the middle of a game! It was deuce and a tight match, and I found it very rude that others did not care about interrupting your view!!! Please bring back the old rule of entering in seats at the change of ends only. Myself and my older son have been many times where we had to stand outside the stadium and watch the screen before entering. At least this didn’t interrupt others. Not all patrons wait for end of the games before trying to get to their seats! This was the most disappointing aspect of the AO this year. Please bring back the old rule. New rule changes don’t always improve things. And surely it can’t hurt patrons to wait outside for 2 games!!!

List of all draws. Would like to see what players are in the same draws and see who a player could play next

Thank you Marita Smith ‘volunteer’. The train only took us half way to our destination - Richmond station. ‘The first day of practice round’. It was pouring rain!!!as we waited and waited for a tram to get to the tennis. Marita (a AO volunteer who was on her way to work there) kindly stepped in and offered us transport. Her partner drive us all. What a fabulously kind and excellent volunteer you have working at the tennis. Thank goodness!! We then had to wait in the rain for 10 minutes as the scanners for entry malfunctioned. What a shocking morning but a very big thank you to your volunteer.

Needs another add app for Apple Watch ⌚️. Needs another add app for Apple Watch So please add a additional Apple Watch app that lets us all know when my fav players are playing live a message that says like Nadal will play tomorrow not before 11 am. Then when he’s hitting up or walking on court app says Nadal about to commence his todays match. Would you like to watch it or see live score update.

Sun shades for Paying Courts.. I was there for first time this week for 4 days. I paid $250 each for rod laver and Margret court to sit in the extremely hot sun for 5 hours. PLEASE PROVIDE SHADE OVER THE MIDDLE SECTIONS OF THE SEATING ATEA FOR THE PATING AREANS. I was so distressed after the five hours of watching the two matches in this extreme heat that it took away from the experience, and hope that you realise this needs to be rectified. Something like the players have over them when they sit down would be amazing. We are all warned of keeping out of the sun especially in the middle of the day reference to cancer and other aspects to one’s health. Please PLEASE action this blemish on an otherwise amazing event to come and see in Australia. Thank you for reading and hopefully heading this review.

Review the AO App. Please add a Favourites button. When I am planning my day I would like to choose games I like & then plan my day from these favourites. Thank you.

AO app just get better with age... I have been following the AO for over a decade … the app just gets better and better each year as us fans engage with the festival of tennis. Awesome team.

Great start. The app is really good in 2021, great performance and easy to use. Will be using this as my best friend across the next 2 weeks.

What an app!. My favourite app of all the grand slams! Easy to use, all the information I want is at the touch of my fingertips, and I love the recommendations in the ‘visit’ section!

Keeping in touch. I find this AO app brilliant as I can keep up with everything without disturbing others. I love that it is up to date as well.

Australian Open. The Tennis app is great I’m disabled so going to Melbourne would be too much for me but I can follow every match and see the Disabled Wheelchair tennis and the Junior Tennis events as well so I use it every chance I get unfortunately like many Australians I miss Nick Kyrgios a lot I think he is the only one left who can take down Djokovic

Notifications are not working. I have all notifications turned on, with the latest version on latest iOS version. Hasn’t worked since I downloaded it.

Why not a proper iPad app?. I opened this again this year hoping that it would have been customised for the iPad. Nope! It’s an OK app but others like the Wimbledon one are so much better. It works better on the phone and is reasonably easy to navigate.

Amazing App. This app is very useful for people who don’t watch the tennis. This app keeps track of live games and updates you on future games.

What a frustrating mess!. I wanted to search a player who lost, some time earlier in the week. Enter the name and search. No results. Check parameters, have to tick women’s tennis, try again. No results. Start flipping through previous days until finally something pops up. …it’s 2024 and Google’s search engine has revolutionised search engines and usability. Get with the program. I want to see who is playing tonight so I go to the schedule tab where they only list by court name and the schedule is filled with games that have been played today!!! so I have to scroll down, carefully looking to see which games have no scores. Ridiculous! Please do better. Treat us like people who have zero experience with apps and design it so an idiot (maybe like me) can use it. Give it to your grandparents or great grandparents! See how they go.

Pls sort this out.. This has to be the worst v of the app (2023). It’s clunky and slow, hard to find favourites in the scheduling section, if you click a day and then close down the app it still stays on that day, favourites doesn’t work properly when checking scores (for example Murray and Kokkinakis are both in my favourites but if I search for results by favourites, their match doesn’t show !! I also have notifications on yet have not received one notification. Pls have a look at the Wimbledon app it’s superior to this.

Player Bio update. Good app. Just wish the player bio page had a link to the players wiki page as the data on it is pretty limited.

Plan your day. Going tomorrow with the family, used the planner thing on the app, haven’t been in years and it was a great help.

Unable to differentiate between each half of draws.. Last year I emailed Craig Tilley re the above and the reply from him suggested this would be evaluated for 2024. A colour coding either of the draw progression (even black for the top half / dark blue for the bottom half etc would also work). Nothing had been done to highlight the top from the bottom when you scrolling through matches to see player progression. Very disappointing.

Schedule. It’s a good app but I’ve love a better forward schedule so you know what’s coming up in the next few days and roughly what time the matches are to be played - eg women’s final followed by the mens doubles - a start time would be nice to know in advance - presuming 7:30…

Why isn't there an iPad version. Only one star since there is no iPad version. The other three grand slams have an iPad version. Come on AO do better.

Default settings. App works great but wish it didn’t automatically default to men’s singles. I would love to be able to set this.

Awesome app! Loved it!. I found the AO App this year to be really easy to use and quite addictive. A great way to keep on top of all the matches being played. I especially loved being able to easily switch between the schedule and scores, and clicking into matches or players for more information and statistics was amazing. Thanks for all the hard work on this!

Pretty solid. Definitely working better for me than last year and liking the favourite players feature but the layout is a bit overwhelming and cluttered - might want to give it a redesign for AO23!

Great for scores, not for maps. Great if you want to catch up on what’s on but finding your way around is the issue. The maps lack a huge amount of detail and seem to be sourced from a third party. Most landmarks are not clearly shown until you zoom right in. Took me a while to figure out where the MCG was.

Buying tickets should be easy.. Can’t buy tickets from the app or be redirected to Ticketmaster to purchase. (If you can it’s well hidden and no search function to find it!)

Annoying and unhelpful. Maybe this is suited to people at the game, but as a watcher at home, it’s just annoying and unhelpful. I just want to find out which Aussies are playing, the results of their games and when their next games are. It shouldn’t be hard.

Not Great this year. Not as good as usual and so sick of the Djokovic show with another feigned injury and now the media show Rd his father which is getting way too much media attention with image after image of the tshirts and flags - not what we want to see. I am not watching any of his matches and think many will be the same. Too many stars gone to early this year so not as exciting as usual.

TV Coverage. Channel 9’s coverage has been disrespectful of viewers by failing to notify viewers of channel changes for WA viewers on too many occasions. Additionally, the production has been very disappointing with the camera in use too often not showing the full court and focused on ground level of half the court only not allowing viewers to see the full action of the game. I could say a lot more but fear my words will fall on deaf ears!

Other languages?. I would like to see the AO’s apps and web page translated into Spanish. As a mega event the organisers forgot about other European languages where tennis has a large audience and followers.

Disgraceful & disappointed !!. After attending the AO on Saturday night I can’t help but express my disgust and disappointment of how this tournament was handled in regards to covid rules. Announcing over the PA is NOT acceptable as the only enforcement for patrons wasting face masks. At least 50% of patrons were NOT wearing masks. Only once did a AO staff member walk the aisle and request people put their mask on. We moved seats as none of the six people directly surrounding were wearing a mask. You should have had security requesting people wear the mask or they would be removed. What is it with the live DJ area? Why create an area to encourage people to stand around drinking under the current climate. Security has to ask patrons to get down off chairs, and masks, forget it, no one wearing them. More like a music festival than a tennis tournament. Surely just a revenue raising super spreader area. Unfortunately we visited there to get food, however couldn’t get out of there fast enough. The only saving grace is we were able to move to seats with no one surrounding us, in fact others moved as well stating they were uneasy with the people around them not wearing masks. I did notice on the television coverage most people were wearing a mask, and this was very misleading. I know it would not have been easy to police this situation, but more could have been done to protect your patrons.

Live commentary app. When you book your tickets at $250 for Margaret court arena AO should share some info by email to bring head phones to listen to commentary as there are no headphones to buy to listen once at arena

Wonderful AO. It was wonderful to watch the tennis on TV. A friend and I used to attend and stay in Melbourne. She has passed away. I did attend by myself once but not the same plus cost of everything gone up. Also I am older now. I enjoyed viewing day and night. The coverage was great and so were the Commentators. It was most interesting to see so many new competitors do well. Congratulations to the organisers and volunteers. I am so pleased I have the App on my phone. If I was out I could log in to see what the latest update was. Thank you. JanT

Syncing of Ticketmaster/AO needs work. While all the tickets I ordered appeared on the app as advised, it was impossible to forward them to the other members of the group either via SMS or email. We tried three times so far and still no luck. The Ticketmaster website asks for a few minutes to process the request and then times out.

Easy to navigate. This App has everything you need and it’s very easy to navigate and find things.

Many faults.. Have so far come across 2 faults. First not listing Rafa Nadal as being a player as he has stated he will be competing this year. Secondly, when I completed the suggestion form, ticked the consent to terms. It failed to submit. Said “an error has occurred retry later”. I retried and got the same thing. Surely, in this day and age they can do better and test things before releasing them. Minus 5 stars if it were possible. Received explanation as to why could not find Rafa Nadal. However, as no explanation as to why the submit error occurred have now given my review 3 stars. Would have been a 5 if they had addressed all.

App not working correctly. Nadal not listed as a competitor Feedback not working!!!! Do you guys actually read all Feedback??? I reported that Nadal is not listed as a player and the Feedback link isn’t working!! No response and still not fixed

Best sports app I’ve used. This has to be the best sports app I’ve used. It’s so straightforward, simple to navigate, and really enhances the experience of following the tournament even when you can’t be in front of a TV. Really well done to the team.

Google is better. A Google search will bring up a better info page than trying to find results, tables and schedules on this app. This organisation is not well managed, especially in regards to scheduling, with men’s matches starting late at night because of intransigent arena venue decisions. Equal work for equal pay for women! Best of 5 matches, same as men.

Can’t get notifications to work. Have iPhone device and can’t get the notifications to work on my player favorites. Is there a problem. Have gone and checked all settings in the app and on the phone.

Loving the improvements to the app for 2023. This app is working a lot better than last year. Being able to plan my day at the AO with kids etc is awesome.

Top App for AO24. The app is great for following the action of the AO! It has a nice easy user interface and the point-by-point updates for each match is awesome!

Ticketing integration over digitised at the expense of the punters. My first ever review. The over digitisation of the ticketing system has made it a nightmare to troubleshoot if a customer doesn’t go down the ‘happy path’. Tickets unable to be forwarded and no support available from Ticketmaster or AO. Other sporting codes are sticking to simple ticketing systems, this is an overreach in the name of data collection over user experience. Genuine shame.

Love the App!. Everything I need, use it every day. I can see match scores I real time, track previous AO matches, watch the draw unfold. Track games across courts. A little more player history would be great.

Excellent. This app is great to have by your side throughout the AO for info on players as well as catching up on game scores for games you may have missed. I’ve recommended it to others. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Please fix match notifications. I have notifications turned on for match start and match result for my favourited players. Haven’t received any notifications yet, despite my players’ matches starting and finishing. Just seems like a bug. Great app otherwise though.

I like how I get player background info easily, and schedule is up quickly.. I can get all the information I need to research the players, latest news, and playing schedule. I was expecting to see the practice schedule on the app too, so that I can plan my day better.

Buggy Draws tab. The Draws tab shows the 1st round only for Men and shows only a part of the Women’s draw. Tried submitting feedback on the app and even that’s not working.

Best Slam - Best App!. Fantastic app to watch highlights, and to follow your favourite players. Top notch!

I’m not one to write reviews.... But this app is unfortunately a few steps back for the Aussie open. It’s not the design per se - but the functionality has been disappointing. Perhaps too much was invested in their tennis game app? - which is pretty tremendous for a free game. How’s that for a backhanded compliment? When it comes to grand slam ‘official’ apps - this incarnation is trailing the others. Which is funny - because a year ago it was in the top two, IMO. Don’t know if it’s better if you’re onsite/in Oz.

Yay. Reliable! Scores updates 10 out of 10! … Keep it up 👍🏼

iPhone sized app on the iPad… sheet. Just downloaded the app to the iPad and it’s the same size screen as on your phone. What a pain, expaecially after catarac surgery. Cmon AO, how many lines of code does it take to fill the screen…

Terrible. Couldn’t see the draws anywhere Google searching far more effective

Great App. Love the easy navigation Great way of keeping up with my favourite players Awesome

Great App. Great job AO on your app. It’s user friendly and so easy to navigate as well as fast.

Doesn’t work. Crashes every time I try to open it

Mediocre app. Needs a rewrite. Follow the Wimbledon format. Why reinvent for a lesser quality? Nothing good too highlight. Difficult to even read an entire page.

State of the art sports event app!. We’ll done AO. This year’s multi-functional app is the best international sports event app I’ve tried!

Fantastic app. Love the content -super easy to navigate and updates automatically. 10/10

iPad?. Be nice if they paid someone $100 and developed an iPad app. You would think with the amount of money they charge for tickets and the growing use of tablets you could get out behind the curve and develop something iPad friendly. The Masters golf tournament has already been doing something for two years. It's a way of bringing up the history of this great championship with lots of history and video and interviews along with all the scores and schedules and radio and video highlights. Time to join the 21st century Australian Open Officials!

Only in AEDT?. Why aren’t we able to change the time of matches to our time?

Crashes. Upgrade did NOT fix the crashes issues! I FID download the latest version. Update your update perhaps...

Very slow. Very slow to load scores and results. Will rely on other websites and unfortunately will remove this app. Hopefully they get it right next year.

App doesn’t even open!. Useless

Australian Open Tennis. I love using this app. It’s a best app so far in sports industry that is easy and manageable to get the real time score and also player information. The app has lots of great features. Too bad I can only use this for 2 weeks in one whole year.

Buggy. This app freezes and crashes. Rarely have I used it without issues. The videos section with the player interviews often goes blank while using and needs to be restarted to gain functionality. While all of the videos are on YouTube anyway, it would be nice to access them here in one spot. Considering deleting.

Temperature. You need to list the temperature! Thanks

Completely Useless. Quite possibly the worst app I’ve ever used. Total crap.

AO app. Your app is pathetic. Scores/Results/Draws leave much to be desired. I wish there was a “no star” rating. You likely paid millions for this useless app. Fix it for next year.

Crashes and not receiving notifications. I’m not receiving any of the notifications so, when I try to open the apps to see the scores, it crashes all the time.

Disappointed Streetsville. Hi Folks. Best Wishes for a successful tournament. Also Best Wishes to all affected by the bush fires. Watching the matches is difficult up here in the Great White North, with the Time Differences. But I try. The AO website is colorful but lacks substance. I go on all the Grand Slam sites, but I feel your edition this year lacks quality. You need more tennis & less adverts. Plus reporting controversy might help. Like Shapo, having a meltdown, etc. Anyway, be safe, have fun. Cheers Streetville.

Schedule. Could be more comprehensive.

Still crashing. Despite updates app still crashes on startup.

Crashing. The app is still crashing every time I opened it

Terrible. Can’t navigate at all. Every time I try to watch a highlight or interview it screws up… not working at all!!

Australian Open. Notification of favorited players match starts not working

The worst. I can’t even give this app 1 star. Words fail.

Très mauvaise conception.. Cette application est vraiment très mal conçue.

Eignsv. This app is terrible . Takes ages to load and update. Four hours away from start of matches and App still showing yesterday’s scores.

AO App. Great easy to use app. I would have given it a 5 but the schedule page has scores on it so you can’t look at the schedule without spoiling any other matches you are saving to watch later.

Disappointing. Crashes on opening sometimes, loading now but the scores do not update. It will be several games behind but when you go to point by point all the points are up to date several games ahead of the score. One Match was over but the app showed 2-2 in the third set. Defeats the purpose!

Limited info. Not very good on iPad - viewing limited - iPhone sized. Difficult to access information - have a look at the Wimbledon app which is excellent.

A step back. Needlessly tweaked. Why try to 'improve' an app which was already functioning & satisfying fans in its earlieriterations?! Instead of making it better you've broken it. It's easier to use search enginesfor results than inthe app.

Easy to navigate!. I enjoy the AO site as it is one of the easiest tennis sites to navigate. Being in Canada, I’m a day behind so it’s great to catch up every morning with what’s happening at the AO!

Best Tennis Tournament App!. Expertly designed and user friendly. Every section is interconnected. Live scores, including radio. Upcoming matches listed. A very comprehensive App.

Crashes upon opening!!. It crashes upon opening every time. I’ve updated twice and I still can’t get it to stop crashing. 😞

Please delete or repair this useless app. Nothing is current. I’m having to get my updates from Flashscore. Why couldn’t you have copied the simple and functional ATP/WTA app? Yours has bells and whistles but nothing truly essential! Who created it? Has anyone from AO Tennis looked at it?

Grand Slam Apps. I do not understand why the grand slams cannot make a decent app. When you look at the draws you want to see the entire quarter section, not one match at a time. The app cannot be made full screen on an ipad and is almost unreadable.

Not even close to user friendly. I can’t figure out who is playing who when or where! Who designed this? A football player??

Doesn’t work. Doesn’t open the app

Australian Open. Checked off one on the bucket list! The entire event has been amazing. Thanks AO!

Time Wasted. Worst app ever!

A Struggle!. So disappointed in this app. Given the time difference I was counting on it for quick results when I got up in the morning. No luck. It was slow, hard to follow and confusing. Never disliked a tennis app so much.

Awful. One of the worst app out there. Cant believe this is for a Grand Chelem and made by Tennis Australia.

Love it!. The menu is simple to use. The material is very detailed. I can hardly wait until the Australian Open starts. Hope this lives up to expectation. Look forward to live radio.

Match stats left out. Disappointed that match stats are not included as we have seen in other Grand Slam tournaments. As in most professional sports, compiling match stats has evolved tremendously over the years and become a vital part which fans have come to appreciate and expect. Please include match stats in your app.

What a piece of garbage. Terrible app. Not even the best player in the world is in the app.. Missing the best player in the world Novak Djokovic. How can anyone support this this app or the Pfizer Open without the World #1 and defending champ Novak Djokovic?

Quality of your Apo is going down each year. Hello, I have been using your app ever year but looks like the quality of the app is going down eac year. Please go back to the look and feel of couple of years back. Thanks,

Horrible.. The worst of the slam apps. Terrible. When the app says “What’s On” (or whatever cutesy phrase they use instead of On Court Now, or Live Score) it displays RESULTS, too!! If I wanted RESULTS I’d select the Results tab! The word “Now” means right this second. Why does this matter? Because some of us (oh, a few tens of millions of us) live in other time zones and have recorded favorite matchups on DVRs to watch and enjoy later. We aren’t dullards; we are tennis fans who are doing what millions and millions of sport loving people do - reasonably record an event for our own enjoyment, letting it unfold - for us - “as it happens.” Sure, we know it is over, duh. But, c’mon, you app designers certainly know that many millions (millions! Do really grasp how many people that is??) use the app to check out who is playing NOW. There is a results option at the top if we wanted results. I can practically hear the snarky comments “Well, Mr. Beans for Brains, don’t sign in on the app.” What?! It is a proprietary app! It is the ONE place a person should expect some measure of control. Googling “AO” brings on an avalanche of spoilers. The ATP app, a real workhorse, allows reasonable, intelligent navigation why can’t you? You have a monopoly, for Pete’s sake.

The best tennis tournament app!. So easy to use and intuitive! Love it.

Better. Finally seem to have fixed the bugs. At least as far as I can tell. I haven’t used every feature. It was SO bad the first few days though, that I’m still only giving 3 stars, just because it caused me so much frustration. Hopefully after this fiasco though, you’ll be better prepared next year. Actually, just went to the app and found a problem. Not a glitch, just poor design. The “Players” tab defaults to the “Men’s Singles”, and to see the Women, you choose “Women’s Singles” from a drop down menu. That in itself isn’t a problem, but if I go to Women’s Singles and then choose a player to see her stats, when I hit the “back” arrow it takes me all the way back to the “Men’s Singles” page. Why?! Often I’m comparing stats between women and you’re making me start back at the beginning each time. Not helpful. Actually while we’re at it, it would be nice if on the “Live” match screen, I could click on the match itself and see a head-to-head comparison of the the two players playing. Update 2020 Well, we got the head to head comparison, that’s cool, but so far it’s real glitchy and sticky when you’re scrolling, and the LIVE tab doesn’t seem to update regularly. It’s still showing a match that ended well over an hour ago, and it took it more than 30 minutes to update the score on that match after it ended. It got stuck on 2-1 in the third until well after the match was over.

Australian open. Lousy app for an iPad.

Notifications not working. I have all the notifications activated and ON , and this app’s just do not work. I tried reinstalling and all, still not working

Thank you. Very useful

Just like last year.. Once again, this app is practically worthless. Live scores works but the layout is poor and one can't see the matches in progress easily. Viewing completed matches doesn't work at all. Message of "There was a problem loading the page," is just the same as last year. It also will occasionally recommend getting a better Internet connection, but I have an excellent connection. Logging in to the main site through a browser works perfectly, so there is no problem with the Internet. Couldn't connect to the Radio coverage, either. One star because the notifications work well. Why can't this app work properly? Not much seems to have been corrected since last year. A real shame.

Why redevelop. This was a good app years ago. Every year it’s rewritten. Why??? Anyway, if the 9 times champion (whose visa was provided and then taken away) does not play, then I will not be using the app.

Very poor app. The listings by who played on which court means you have to wade through lots of lesser matches to find what you are looking for. Not enough news articles.

Better Now. Update-Jan. 20 Bugs have been fixed for the most part. Favorite players notification still not working and schedules/results still too spaced out. But no more blank pages. Much better. This year’s app is terrible!! The shedule is spaced out so much, you can see only one match at a time. That’s when you don’t get “Network Error. Something went wrong. Please try again.” Which is at least every other time. Or scores: “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable” then “Network Error. Something went wrong. Please try again.” Again. Forget about draws: “There was a problem loading the page. Try again.” Then “Network Error. Something went wrong. Please try again.” After four attempts to load it comes up with all this white space, so it’s effectively just a list of matches, no way to scroll horizontally. Just a bunch of matchups. Players Page: “There are no news items about your players.” My player is Raphael Nadal. Alerts not working either. “Network Error. Something went wrong. Please try again.” News and media is in and out. Right now, no articles, just videos (better than nothing I guess). Please, please fix.

No news on Djokovic is very disappointing. Avoiding news of the Djokovic saga?

Good. Keep up the good work

Useless. There’s nothing on this app that is easier than simply looking it up on the inter-web at any other site whatsoever.

Australian open. Terrible can’t find draws

Needs a redesign immediately. The 2017 app was so much better and what I considered the best of the 4 GS. 2018: 1) you get notifications asking if you want push notifications and if you are at the Open (although latest update supposedly fixed this), 2) constant errors: “There was a problem loading the page. Try Again” when navigating between certain functions, 3) the draw page is poorly designed and spaced too far apart so you can’t view brackets...you need to scroll and count the groupings (the US Open app displayed brackets very well and navigation was user friendly), and 4) as I write this the draws are not visible (blank page) but if you toggle back and forth enough (to main screen) you get “there was a problem loading the page” error. This app is extremely frustrating to use. NOTE: the positive reviews must be from last year so disregard them!

No iPad support. Please support iPad devices

Scoring. App is only showing game and sets, not points as game goes.

Almost USELESS. There is little positive to be said. News, interviews, and players ident ok but other, useful things are listed in AEDT times rather conversion to local time. Truly a very difficult task unless a computer is added to the equation. However since there is only a day’s difference plus a few hours any user can easily convert same to local time. AOT take note: develop a subroutine to assess local time/date and compute listed times in LOCAL, SPECIFIC time using GSP LOCATION of user. Include this as the time listed for match times and any other item that uses a time stamp. Shouldn’t be too taxing; even I could do it. This addition will remedy most of the compounded items that i have issue with.

Keeps me updated on scores. Love the app.! Love Australia too!

App not working. I’m receiving no notifications for my players I’ve selected to follow although I’m allowing notifications and my preferences are set requesting notifications

Love the AO but not enamored with the app. I always love following the first slam of the year. Unfortunately, this year’s app doesn’t measure up to the tourney’s standards. I keep getting “There was a problem loading the page” messages — there’s nothing wrong with my connection — and having the screen freeze mid-scroll so that my only recourse is to switch categories or close the app. This is especially aggravating given the linear organization of material such as videos, which means a lot of scrolling to find the specific content I’m looking for, and a lot of re-scrolling when I return after a freeze event. I guess I’ll be following along on my PC.

Australian open app 2022. Just ridiculous. It would be a really good app 15 years ago. Come on Aussie’s you can do better than this!

Lousy app. The app gives the draw for men, from the first round. But doesn’t give the draw for women! This app is lousy!

Update does not help. I have updated the app and I am still not receiving notifications for my favorite players. This app was amazing in the past but now not so much.

One of the best..... ...live sports apps I have tried for the Iphone platform. Up-to-date scores, news of the day, match highlights, area information, player descriptions, etc. Well-organized, flawless sports app. My favorite use for it so far: if a match is going on and I don't happen to know one of the players, simply press the "Player" button on the front screen and look through the alphabetical listing for rankings, prize money earned, age, record, current rank. If the player has a twitter feed (Andy Roddick's is pretty funny) then it can link to that as well. All live sports apps should be this user-friendly....and it's free, gratis, no paysees!

Very nice app. Great to follow a great global tournament!!

Why Not Landscape?. We don’t all use phones for an interface. And scrolling constantly messes up. Spend some money. Show some class!

Glossy look but dismal performance. How lame that IBM of all developers/sponsors creates one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. The app has been having bugs and periods of not working since the tournament started, and updates have not fixed the problem. It constantly takes me to new pages without me pressing any buttons (that almost always give an error message), as well as changes pages when I try to scroll up or down. It also asks twice very single time I open it whether I am attending the AO, even though I have said “no thanks” every single time and am literally across the world from Melbourne, yet this message pops up every time I go on and wine disappear. I cannot even look at the schedule of play (one of the most basic, but important functions of such an app) without it taking me to a new page and giving an error message. These grand slam apps were already bad for functionality in the past, but this update has made things even worse. Get it together please because the regular atp/wta live that the grand slams don’t use is everything that theirs should be.

Horrendous!!!. Just when there’s finally a decent length to a highlights clip, you can’t watch any of them. Glitches galore! Holy smokes! How can an elite tournament be so disconnected with one of the most desired parts of this app, a highlights reel! 🙄🙄🙄

*****Not User Friendly *****. As stated in other reviews this version is not user-friendly. It is difficult to navigate just to find the information you were looking for. Also constantly receiving an error message, like this information is not available or some such nonsense. And even though it prompts you to ”Watch Live“ - it has never worked. I would like to see, at a glance, upcoming matches or a timeline of events for the day. Instead you slowly work your way back and forth through the format of this application. It is very tedious and frustrating. And when you are trying watch highlight videos, or after match interviews, you must always watch a small ad that takes about a minute but is totally annoying; seriously for every video!!?

Tsk tsk tsk. The App doest not work well at all, not to mention the interface is not very straight forward and user friendly; its a beta test at best. I know this is not easy to create, but you had a whole year! Im not a programmer nor have knowledge as to the process of creating an app. But Im sure theres a team of techs working on it last minute. To them I say: Hey guys the Australian open started yesterday! Good luck getting the gig next year. Maybe the app should have been tested before? Just saying. Every year hundreds of thousands of people rely on these apps to navigate mayor tournaments the least you can do is make them reliable and finish them On time. I feel they re-do these things every year as if to ostentatiously showcase more and more functionality, or maybe to make sponsors happy.. whatever the reason its unnecessary; why reinvent the wheel? Tsk tsk tsk. Fix it!

AO (Australian Open) app. The AO radio does not work on this app. Very frustrating.

Terrible app. This use to be a great app. Not anymore. Cumbersome and if I put the app on my iPad it doesn’t fill the screen and I can only look at it in portrait mode. I’ll just use ESPN to get scores.

Not very good.. Not user friendly enough to simply show scores, etc. in a useful way. Tabs indicating “scores” try to also show upcoming matches and future schedules, despite these categories having their own tabs. I just want to see the completed matches so far, but this is impossible as there is a jumble of other information there. Also the matches are categorized by court name/number...like we care which court it happened on? Show them in order of completion or something useful. The information is there, but hard to sort through. The most annoying thing is the top menu bar which pops down and “follows” you as you scroll. It then goes away when you stop or scroll back up. This creates a shift on the page which makes it hard to follow the information when scrolling. And it takes forever to load data, as if you are downloading some intricate graphics instead of simple text. It’s simply easier to Google ‘AO’ and have the results listed there. Only good thing on app is the ability to listen to AO radio. But even here, while the audio of match coverage works great, I was a bit confused bc the radio button says “Live DJ” and underneath this, it say “Next: Nothing Scheduled”. Why would it say Live DJ instead of “Match Coverage/Commentary” or something. And nothing scheduled after this? No Post-match, continued live coverage, more Live DJ, press conference audio, Aussie rave music, or wombat screeching? Nothing? Seems amateurish at best.

Another year , another let down. Why can’t you get the scoreboard stuff to work…..not showing point by point……so annoying !

Poor effort. Audio issues noted by others aside, the functionality is diminished over previous years and other grand slam apps. The player names on score pages or draw pages link only as far as match details, where the names there are not active links, while those on schedule pages link nowhere - nothing links to player profiles, which can only be reached directly from the main menu. The profiles themselves are extremely limited, do not show grand slam histories or matches completed. Nor do they aggregate photos, videos, or interviews for the player. Those must tediously be found by scrolling through those sections as they cannot be searched by player name. This stuff would seem so obvious that it leaves the impression that the developers were either clueless or lazy, but to be fair, maybe they were not provided adequate resources or time.

Awesome App. Easy to use

Should be changed to CCP Australia Open. Where freedom and common sense die

🤗. It’s very amazing with keeping up the tournament

Just great. Perfect app. Simple, fast, and all the information you need. Updates of scores are almost synchonized with the tv score, so you're getting instant updates. I love IBMs implementation for these apps that go with the majors. Keep it up! I agree, the light blue background with white text wasn't the best choice, but still easily legible. And it's only for the scheduled matches, not the ongoing matches which is what you're going to be looking at 95% of the time. Minus 2 stars for that? Now that's dumb.

Scrolling. When scrolling using a phone, accidentally tapping a certain match is inevitable which takes you into the details screen. When you return to the previous menu, the application takes you to the top of the screen instead of where you originally were. You then have to start over with the scrolling and of course, you accidentally click on another detail menu. A circular effort results in just giving up after several tries.

Terrible update for 2018-updated. I have used the app in past years to keep up with the tournament. This app is unusable. Error messages on just about every screen, “There was a problem loading the page,” with a try again button. I managed to use the back button to see the men’s singles draw, the format is terrible, large bubbles that you can only view a few to a screen. I assume the other draws look like this, but due to the previously mentioned error I couldn’t get any other draw to load and it just went back to men’s singles. UPDATE: I bumped it up to 3 stars because after 4 updates in one week it does work now. But it should have worked on the first update for 2018. However, it is still only 3 stars because the interface is terrible, large, and bubbly for lack of a better term. The draws screen doesn’t make it easy to see who someone would play in the next round if they win, you have to count pairs of matches from the top or bottom to figure it out. I will say the bottom menus are good and easy to navigate.

This app. This app is so bad , I can’t even rate it !

Love. This app is amazing, I 100% recommend it.

SLOW TO UPDATE. The score update has been behind & very slow! Zero stars, do not recommend!

Novak. The greatest player of all time.

AO 2024. It won’t refresh!

Prices. I want to know what this is costing me. There was no mention of prices. Please!

Terrible, Useless App!. 2020 version: Still terrible! Every page takes ages to load. When I press a link, say to go to live matches, sometimes it’s completely unresponsive, other times there is about a ten second lag before anything happens. The scores don’t update. The app is totally unusable for me. I’m deleting it and checking scores on the AO website in Safari. At least the website seems to work fine. 2019 version: This app is useless. First, scores don’t work. Each time I’ve tried to show scores since main draw matches have started, it says “There was a problem loading page.” Second, you must decline push notifications and location services every time you open the app—I don’t mean every time you force quit and open; I mean every time you leave the app for a second and go back! Third, even if the app were functional, the layout on the schedule page (and presumably the score page if I could view it) is terrible! There is so much white space between entries that you must scroll down endlessly to find the matches you want. This makes it impossible to quickly check scores and schedules. I can only presume all the positive reviews of the app are fake, or maybe it works if you’re in Australia.
