Horrible. If you haven't used a tracker like myfitnesspal or sparkpeople, then maybe this app is up to your standards. But if you have used a tracker with a wide database you will be shocked and disappointed. First, the design of this app is awful. It is not intuitive. It shouldn't take me 15 minutes to figure out how to add multiple meals. Just horrible design. Second, the database is sorely lacking. Expect that you won't find basic foods on here. Third, learning how to use other supposed features is near impossible bc of the design once again. I don't think I have ever given an app 1star. I am deleting this and will just have to figure out another way to carb count. Can't believe I spent money on it.

Carb App. I like this app but I would like to see more food options to choose from in the data base and a "supermarket" option like the regular Tap and Track app. A barcode scanner would also be helpful. A section to log supplements/vitamins and an area to make notes so you can look at trends that may be interfering with weight loss. The exercise database could be expanded as well. I've also had difficulty exporting the logs to my email. Overall this app is good and much better than carrying around a notebook and writing it down.

Nice app. Works well. Would be nice if users had more flexibility in adding items or changing items already included. For example, being able to remove the bun carb count from restaurant items. I'd also like to be able to add things I track such as nutrients and supplements. All in all it does what it says it will. It's convenient and the item list is better than most any other app I've used. I look forward to updates.

Loved everything but the crashes!. I've told tons of people about this app and in general I find its one of the easiest I've found to keep a food journal. HOWEVER, twice now I have used it for a few days and then it gets stuck on the home screen. No matter what I try to push, no matter how many times I totally close the app - even restarting my entire phone - I can not get any response. I've had to delete it from my phone and download it again. Since I can't get in I have no way to email my past journal entries.

Love it!. I've been using this for over a year and just love it! Great daily tool. Would like to be able to add a few categories to better suit my needs - maybe a miscellaneous category that each person could use however they want. Also, an alphabetical version of basic food would be good so it doesn't take a long time to look up. Otherwise, great job.

Great Dieting Partner. I really love this app! It's an uber easy way to keep track of water intake, net carbs, calories and all other nutritional info. I can check my log each day and see where I'm at and how many calories and that carbs I'm still allowed. And I love the seven day report which tells me my average calorie and net carb intake for the week. In just three days since using this app and beginning a low-carb diet I've noticed a huge difference in my waistline. The only improvement I can think of for this app would be the ability to add foods to the database that aren't already there, like I can on the Apex Fitness/24 Hr Fitness website for my BodyBugg device. The best advantage to having this app is that it's on your iPhone so it's always with. You can add info and track your progress anywhere, anytime.

WAS great till .... This was a great app for the week it was working. Now it does nothing (tried turning phone off/on and checking for updates and looking for customer support--to no avail). Another reviewer said if it freezes/crashes you have to re-install and lose all your data. I don't mind throwing 2.99 down the drain, but flushing 5-6 hours of time spent inputting a month of diet data is disgusting! At least I have my data on a tablet (handy dandy low-tech handwritten "app" -- swell). So sure, the app is fine if it's working for you, but you could lose data and TIME as well as $ -- consider that before buying.

Excellent log tool, needs a little tweaking. This is one of the best low carb apps out there. Sometimes it's a little hard to figure out, and there are many things I have to custom add for home cooking. I'd like to see more portion options; e.g., I can't do half potions. The database could use more real low carb products since this is, after all, a carb program! Also it subtracts fiber grams from carbs to get net carbs, but it doesn't subtract sugar alcohols, and it really should offer that option since many low carvers count their carbs that way (kind of basic). So I custom program those items. Oddly enough, it doesn't show total carbs consumed on the main screen, but it does show what' left for the day. All in all, however, it's very comprehensive. The ability to track water consumption, weight etc. is great and the charts and summaries are terrific. It's helped me a lot.

Pretty good. This is a great app!!! I love that it can track so many useful parts of the diet puzzle like water intake and exercise along with net carbs. The food data base is pretty detailed and includes restaurant listings which is very helpful. I like the graphing features. The screens are clear and easy to understand. *** I just wish it had the Atkins sugar alcohol portion so I didn't have to subtract them manually. If they added that it would be perfect:)

Extremely Helpful App. I started a low carb diet and told my friend that I wished I could make an app that counts my macronutrients. Well I did a search in the App Store and found this app and it does the trick! I like the water counter and weight tracker too plus it shows you averages over time of food intake. It also lets you add your own foods! I would give it FIVE stars in a heartbeat except some bug is preventing me from exporting my data. I get an endless twirly when I try to do that. I hate to not give it five stars but that needs to be fixed.

Very helpful tool.. This is a very useful app that allows you to track daily carbs, daily weight, and plot progress in relationship to your weightloss goal. The app helps you manage your daily intake informing you how many carbs you have left for the day based on on a 30 gram per day carb allotment, which can be changed in the preferences section. A scanner function would be nice, as others have suggested, however, you only need to enter a new food item once and then you can choose that item again easily going to the previously entered items tab. Worth the cost, easy to use.

Awesome App. I have tried half a dozen different apps to monitor my diet. Some focus on calories, some focus in carbs, etc. While my primary goal is not low carb, I still like this app. Controlling blood sugar is the key to controlling food intake so, I've grown to like the carb-centric focus this app offers. I would like to be able to change the target macro-nutrient though. Perhaps have an option to change graph display to fat intake or protein intake on the main page. The food database is one of the better ones out there but it is still in a distant second place to myFitnessPal's food database. I'd really like to see a UPC scanner for food items too. The database is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. The ability to enter custom recipes is really helpful.

Good product potential for great. As a low-carber, this app is really helpful with keeping track of my carbs every day. A plus is that it also tracks calories & H2o. It also has a good search/database. A few things that would make this a great app: 1. Ability to sync between platforms. I have it on both iPhone4s & iPad2 but they don't sync. So if you really want to track over time, you have to choose one or the other. 2. When entering favorites/custom food, it doesn't calculate net carbs exactly as the packaged product does, so I end up having to adjust my serving size if I want the carbs to be accurate. Unfortunately, then the cals are off. Overall though--good product!

Great app for carb tracking. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the database doesn't have much of what I eat but I only have to enter an item once and save it, so not a big deal. Also would be nice to have the option to set my limit with total carbs instead of net. The diet I'm following doesn't recognize net carbs so I have to keep going into the log to see where I'm at with total carbs. Other than those small items, I'm very happy with this app.

Good app but, lots of room for improvement.. What I enjoy about this app is it counts and keeps log of daily carbs along with a pie chart of balance based on daily settings. I really wanted to enjoy this app more but, there are some can't ignore issues such as; Counts calories but cannot set a calorie limit. Counts exercise but doesn't subtract calorie burn from total calories. So if you have a limit you have to toggle between screens and so the math yourself. This can even be achieved by adding exercise to main page along with calorie/carbs. Personalized main page feature would be great! Inputs such as fiber, fat, could be seen, added or removed from main screen would be a big plus. Very limited list of foods in database. There is a manual place for additions but no quick serving sizes in oz, grams, etc. Most food choices are listed in servings. Again, cannot just place amount in measure without doing math. These simple changes would make this app a total 5 star product. I would be willing to pay for a version that have the options listed above.

Best tool I own!. Let's get real - our iphones are about the only thing we alwayz have with us. This makes this app the most amazing tool in my weight loss as I'm able to keep track of EVERYTHING. If ya slip, yanno it by looking @ the logs. If ya eat something bad, yanno it by the tracker that tells ya whoops! I can track almost everything in my diet & things i can't locate are easy to enter in myself. I really dunno how I did low carb before this app..it's made a world of difference.

Decent App. I like this app for the ability to see carb intake at a quick glance. It has a pretty good sized listing of food as well. My two main issues concerning this app are as follows. 1) 2 out of every 3 items I find has incorrect nutrition info when compared to the label. That means I have to manually load every nutrition label to ensure accurate caloric and carb intake. 2) this would be much much better if they had a scanner. Right now I spend so much time logging carbs on this app and actual calories from the "lose it " app ( because it has an accurate scanner option) that I hope the "lose it" app just creates a carb counter chart and I wouldn't waste my time with this one.

Awesome!. I was never really successful on a low carb diet. But I decided to give it another try and thankfully I found this app the day I started! I've only been doing it three full days and I've already lost five pounds! This app tracks many things including water intake. You choose the number of glasses you need to drink per day, and then every time you have one, you record it. From doing this, I know that I didn't drink enough in my past attempts. Also, I'm wanting to stay under 20 grams of carbs per day. (but have been staying around 10 grams) Using this app I realized that I was eating far too many vegetables for the induction phase on Atkins before. For reviewers saying there aren't enough food listings in this app, need to be aware that you can add whatever food and its nutritional information that you want to be saved! Also, you can add your favorite recipes, adding the ingredients from the food list and it will add up all the carbs, etc. for you! It also has graphs to track your progress. My only recommendation is that they put all the information onto one graph, instead of having a different graph for everything. That way you could track your weight loss and see what relation that was to how many carbs you had in a day, your water intake, etc. This app is easy to use and if it helps me lose the weight, it's worth far more than the $2.99 I paid! Thanks for a great app!

Works great, when it actually works. Bought this app and used it for about three days before it just froze on the homepage. Closed the app, restarted my phone, app still stuck on the home page. I uninstalled, reinstalled, reentered all of my information. Worked perfectly for three more days and the same thing happened. It is really hard to track your progress if you only have to start over every three days! I love this app when it actually works--easy to use, tracks everything important to a low carb dieter, and I like that it keeps track of water too. I just wish it wasn't so buggy.

A few features short of five stars. This app is a very convenient way to track yourself on a low carb diet! I've found myself entering lots of custom foods like kimchee, protein shakes, or low carb coconut macaroons...so it takes a bit of time to set up with your normal eating routines. The way your daily diet progresses on the overview graphic is awesome! That said two things held me back from making this a 5-star review: (1) All foods you eat are broken into breakfast/lunch/dinner but there needs to be a snack category (or midday, mid afternoon, nighttime snacks). Particularly because folks modulating their insulin or on the TKD would want track their eating with finer granularity, I would recommend the addition of "snack" meal divisions. (2) When assigning food to your log it is uploaded to breakfast/lunch/dinner according to the *current* time of day. That's just wonky! Sometimes, I don't have time to do my logging right away, and so it would be more convenient to select the time the meal was consumed so I can backlog it. Beyond those two significant lacking features it is a great app; as you adjust to using it you may spend a bit of time uploading custom foods, but it quickly becomes very easy and intuitive. Recommended!

Helpful and Fun!. I'm just starting a low carb plan and I'm really liking this app. It's relatively easy to learn, shows the information I need, and is pretty fun to use. It could be better in some respects. The navigation is a little cumbersome, especially around entering new foods. I would like to be able to add and update food options without having to go through the Entry, as I may not want to log anything, just to add to my possible menus. I'd also like to see more categories for the foods, such as condiments/toppings and snacks. But, in general, I'm loving this so far.

Best app for monitoring low carb diet!. I have been on a low carb diet for the last 6 months. I can't imagine how I would have done it without this app. I am sure it's possible if you carry a book with carb values of all foods. I tried the Atkins app too, but this one is better designed and has a more comprehensive database. My only, minor, point of dissatisfaction is that it counts sugar alcohols as sugar, though the latter have a lower glycemic load. Still I would rate it 5 stars.

Good app ... But not always accurate. The app is great and you can even export your progress to excel if you want to show your trainer or doctor. My only complaint is that for designated modified foods ( Atkins, medifast bars, dream fields pasta) which are all designated as low net carbs , it registers them MUCH higher - so i just enter my own carb count for these items. You can not add sugar alcohol into your counts. It's also nice that you can set YOUR goal for number of carbs daily and it will count down based on whatever number you choose. All in all, good app for carb counting, but you'll have to check some of the counts.

Not that great. I bought this app a couple days ago and I'm already finding that a lot of common foods are not listed. I have to do an additional search online to find the carb count. Plus I then have to manually add that item to my favorites so I can use it next time. This is becoming a big hassle. They should have a scanner to scan the bar codes of items or at the very least update their food list. Oh and did I mention the app stopped working today! Ugh! I'm not happy. Hopefully they fix it soon! Meanwhile I'll be looking for a better more accurate and dependable app.

Better than most. Nice simple app, and the last 2 updates added a lot of new foods. Crashes occasionally, but I don't think I've lost any data. I have noticed a number of inaccuracies and typos in the food listings. I would like the ability to compile ingredients into a single recipe which could then be saved as a favorite. Edit Oct. 2011: Hey! They updated it to allow recipe compilation! What more could a girl ask for? This new version is really quite good and seems very stable. Five stars!

Good app BUT..... I like this app because it is very basic and easy to use. Not only does it track carbs for you, but it also let you know how many calories you're consuming each day. On the downside, it doesn't have all the perks that my fitness pal has, and the food database is a bit more limited. My biggest gripe however is that whenever I type something into the food database the app shuts down. Then I have to reopen the app and type it into the database again and then it will work. Which is very annoying. I am thinking of shopping around for a new carb counting app. I am really annoyed that I paid money for this and it just craps out.

Love it! Just a couple things. This app is great! Helps me stay on track. Just wish it had a larger database for foods & the ability to create custom foods. The recipe option does no good if all the ingredients aren't in the database. Quick add foods can't be saved as favorites or categorized by meal either. Also, would be nice if there was a notification bubble on the app icon that kept a running total so I don't have to open the app to see my count.

Needs improvement.... It's not a bad app if you don't mind looking up generic nutition for foods that you search, but I wish it had a scanner so you can use the actual data from the food you are eating. You can search for the food but there are no name brands and the nutritional information often isn't the same as what is on the package. I went back to My Fitness Pal because having the scanner was too nice of an option to give up....maybe if they add a scanning feater and large database to go with it I'll switch back. Until then I'm out $2.99 on this app

Best App for Carb Counting. I have tried sooooo many diet apps and this is hands-down the easiest and most convenient app I've used. Everything makes sense. I love the reports an I have yet to look for a food in the data base that wasn't there. The only glitch I found is that when I wanted to see how many carbs a Cobb salad was from Wendy's, the number was way too high. I had to go to Wendy's web-site to look at nutritional info. So for restaurants, I wouldn't count on it neon right. I think maybe it isn't reflecting net carbs on the restaurant nutrition info. Besides that, I'm keeping this one.

Good app needs improvement. Given that there are few good Carb tracking apps out there this one does a good job. Needs improvement though. Need to be able to see at a glance foods and carbs eaten; need to be able to email complete food log with each food and carb count eaten per day; need to see exercise combined with food and carb logs with itemized version of each individual entry; need to have more food groups like meats, fish, etc.; asks way too many times to rate the app. If you want me to rate it then read the reviews and update the app accordingly!

It helps keep track of everything, not just carbs.. Just because I was going low carbs, I didn't want to eat a lot of fat or sodium, this helps manage everything. If I have one knock it's that you can't export data to another device. Picked up a new iPad and had to enter everything in again. You can really only manage with one device, put it on the cloud and I'd give it five stars.

Helpful app. I have found this to be a helpful tool in keeping track of what I am eating. Diagnosed with diabetes 4 years ago I kept a written record of everything and grew tired of that. Went to keeping a running carb total daily in my head...worked for a while and I got lazy about it. This keeps me on target and my numbers have been great. Wish it would go back to food groups after an entry instead of all the way back to the "add entry" button though.

Quite happy with it. This is an extremely handy app, and simple to use. No it doesn't have every possible feature, food, or exercise you could ever wish to find, but the 'quick add' carbs or calories burned option makes it easy to approximate on your own. Losing weight is never an exact science, but this app allows you to measure your progress well enough to know if you're doing it right, without the usual obsessing over details and frustration. The only additional thing I'd like to see is a count of net carbs on the overview page, instead of just a countdown of how many more you're 'allowed' to eat.

Love this useful app!. Although carb counts may be a little off, overall this is an easy to use, quick app that does everything I need it do to to see results. I can easily add items with the correct carb counts and use them as a favorite in the future - problem solved. The phone app is especially handy in restaurants. I too would love to see the phone and iPad app sync, however. I would love to be able to use both in one day!

Great app!. This app is exactly what I needed to help track my carbs when I was diagnosed with borderline gestational diabetes. My doctor told me I had to keep my carbs below a certain number, and this made it so easy to keep track of them! It's user friendly, easy to navigate, has a great database of food to choose from, and has made this frustrating situation just a little easier to deal with. Love it.

Keeps quitting and then freezing up!. I really wanted to be happy with this app. The problem is that whenever I search for a new food, it quits! Then I relaunch, search for it again, and maybe it will let me add it into my log or maybe not -- maybe it will quit again. Another problem is that after 4 days of use, it freezes up. No way I can access it; after rebooting my iPad, it still doesn't work. So I have to delete and reinstall but that means all my data is gone! This has happened twice now! I've sent a message to the developer on this, describing these problems and asking for help, and have had no response.

Needs an update. I love this app, but I have trouble finding some items I eat. I realize it is Impossible to have everything but could it be updated? I love the quick carb button which I use if in a hurry or can't find something. Thank you! Updated review: I Still love love love this app and keep coming back because it is so quick and easy. I have tried other apps with more info and other fancy stuff but I wind up not using them because it takes too much time. This app I use for keeping track of my carbs everyday. It keeps track of other stuff too and if you put in everything you get your protein, fat etc etc but if you are in a hurry it is so easy. One thing though is that it does not go down from “I still need to drink 8 glasses of water” even when I enter in my water consumption (which also is super easy) I can look at my water page but it would be nice if it showed on home page. You can adjust how many carbs you want to eat each day. Thank you!

Has issues.. I really like this app but for some reason it is completely frozen. It would crash when I selected a food item and now it's completely frozen. I've shut the app off as well as restarted my phone and still, when I open the app, it is frozen. Update: I had to completely delete the app and hence, lose all my info. I reloaded the app and had the same issues with crashes when I selected an item. Again after about 3 or 4 days it completely froze. So again it is deleted! I won't waste anymore time just to lose everything on an app that hasn't been updated since Oct 2011! Apparently they have abandoned this app! I do really like the app but cannot stand the crashes and freezing. Please, please, please update this app and I will be more than happy to try again!

Better Than Average. I've only been using it for 5 days so I'm still getting used to it but apparently the "later" option to review means "remind me every time I open the app" so I'm reviewing sooner than I normally would because I'm getting irritated with it. It's very easy to use but I would love a barcode scanner so I know I've got the exact numbers for what I'm eating. There seems to be many choices for the same foods with different numbers and for a new dieter that's confusing. The numbers are definitely off for the Atkins bars and shakes which throws my numbers for the whole day off. I love the water counter, very quick and easy! I have difficulty finding the right brands but it has a larger database than the free one I tried and I'm sure it's still growing. While we wait though there is an option to enter things yourself but you can't tag the meal when you do. All in all, I'd say it's the best app available for low carb diets but I am looking forward to future updates.

A good product in need of an update. I have been using this product for several years and always though it was the best thing since sliced bread until I installed it on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 with iOS8+. It works no better with iOS9. It frequently crashes out of the app and I have to open it again. The company has not updated the app in the last five years and apparently doesn't care. The email log feature doesn't work, and the restaurant info omits many national (and international) chains that have entered the market since 2011. I have tried emailing the producer and never receive a response. I keep hoping for an update but am looking for an alternative.

Good while it lasted; super irritated & need a refund.. Where do I begin. This app was helpful to me for about a week & a half until it crashed and lost all my information. Such a bummer, especially since I was able to lose 6lbs in that period of time and wasn't able to add that entry which was huge for me. I attempted to upload the app again and it only worked for about 1 day, if that. I made a third attempt to reload the app and of course I'm being charged $4.99 each time! Now I can't seem to be able to get a refund for at least the last two uploads. Not happy & need to find a better app for carb tracking.

Excellent!. I love this app. It is the best low carb tracker I have found. You have to work with it and spend time customizing it by entering your own meals and foods, however, doing so will save you time in the long run. The database is quite robust but I have found some discrepancies in carb counts as mentioned by other reviewers. For instance Atkins bars are not 15 carbs each! You can work around this by entering your own custom item or changing the serving size to record the correct net carbs. Someone new to low carbing might want to use another source to verify carbs until you get the hang of it. This is so much easier, fun, and more convenient to use than a paper journal and I have all ready seen results -- 5 lbs down in 7 days! It is worth the money.

Useful, fun, educational!. I've been using this app for three days while doing an Atkins 'fat fast' to throw myself into ketosis and it's been useful and fun--and when you're starving yourself, you need all the distraction you can get! I love how everything is manually adjustable and the graphs when you turn your iPhone sideways is awesome. Really satisfying to see the graph line going down! I had a little difficulty converting grams to ounces to cups, but I figured it out pretty fast using google conversions. Before getting this app I was guesstimating my carbs each day and it's really nice to get a more accurate accounting of my days intake. I would also love to see a scanner added to this app in the future and look forward to that feature. Good luck to everyone doing low carb!

This used to be a good app; in serious need of update. Since upgrading the operating system on my iPhone, this app works extremely poorly. Sometimes it will crash and will not operate at all. The only recourse is to delete it and download it again. Unfortunately, this means you lose all of your entries and personalized food choices. Even if it does work, it is extremely faulty. If one searches in the database, when you select the item, the program crashes. If you reopen it and enter the same item, it will sometimes then allow the entry to go in. Since it takes several times longer than it should to enter an item, and later the app crashes and no longer works, it does not make much sense to use this app. When the app has improved and does not crash as described above, I will update my review.

Review. Like so far however, I would liked to have used for a minimum of 3 weeks before I post a review. It would be ever so helpful to be able to input the nutritional information from the package, description and serving size. This way I could save the foods and brands that I prefer for future use. The quick add feature is nice except if I have the same thing the next day, I have to re-enter the info. Not a bad program could just use a few upgrades.

Tentative stars. I would give this app 4 stars for its convenience and ease of use, but I'm wary of its accuracy. It would seem that most of the content is user- contributed and not fully described or moderated. For instance generic items such as Swiss cheese and hot dogs will have multiple versions with the same exact name but different carb counts (ie hot dogs fluctuate from 7-44 carbs per 1 link, no bun serving, whereas my package says "less than 1 carb" per serving). Also, it seems to have off-brand items and restaurants (or ones that are geographically constrained), so were you to try to add a good ol' Oscar Meyer wiener, you will have to go to your fridge and input calories, fat, carbs, etc all yourself. So, this is a good app if you mostly want to input "quick carbs" and exercises to keep track on the go, but I would be skeptical of assuming that the carb counts already listed on the program are correct - especially if you're following a strict carb count!

Overall, great-but could have additional features-more name brands to choose from.. Great app...I would make saving favorites easier and whole meals that have been eaten-may be able to but haven't figured it out yet. Also, should have more name brands - most may be from Southern states-not many from the north. Graphs aren't all that useful. However, being able to quickly and easily track carbs and calories Is great! Worth the $$.

Great app for counting carbs and calories!. This is a fantastic app for anyone looking to reduce their carbs and lose weight. I'd been using MFP, but that's not good for counting carbs. The database of food is almost as complete as MFP's. I also often use the "recipe calculator" function to add my almond flour muffins and other LC baked goods to the food log. I also count calories, and like that the overview page gives that info. I set my carb goal to 50 and the app tells me how many carbs I have left. I really like this feature in planning out my meals for the rest of the day. I also like the page where it gives you an overview of the # of carbs you've eaten each day in the past. Helps pinpoint the level of carbs where you lose the best. Overall, a highly recommended app. I've downloaded all the other low-carb apps, this is the best by far.

Love this app. I'm glad to finally find a food tracker app that understands what net carbs are. Has a really nice interface. It has a huge food database that can be edited. You can also add custom foods and recipes. There doesn't seem to be a limit on the number of food favorites you can have, like Daily Burn Tracker. I would love to see them add a barcode scanner like Daily Burn. I would definitely pay for this addon. Overall, I think it was well worth the price I paid for this app.

Good carb counter. Since starting a low-carb eating plan, I've lost 60 pounds! I was looking up carb counts on my phone's browser, but this app makes it much easier. I love the fact that you can add your own info and save your favorite foods. I do wish there was better nutritional information for restaurants and that the database didn't give so much priority to ready-made or packaged foods (which already have carb counts listed), but overall I really like this app...and when I stop using it, I gain weight!

Very good app. Great for tracking carbs on a daily basis. Bit laborious of the food or ingredient is not found in the default database but once you've got that sorted it is a breeze

Great App. This is an easy to use app that makes Carb counting so easy. It's a great tool that makes keeping track of my carbs very convenient making life so much simpler especially as I am an Insulin requiring Diabetic.

Love it but, needs Aussie content. Everything about this app is great. It's well thought through and easy to use and it doesn't over complicate things. It could use some refining when it comes to the food search database and it definitely needs an Australian Database integrated.

Aussie options. I like it but have had to add a lot of custom items. Aussie version would be great. Metric option would also be beneficial. Keeps my mind distracted through the initial phase, that is a good thing.

Great when it works but it keeps freezing. I bought this app about a week ago and loved it at first but it’s “frozen” 3 times now and the only way I could get it to work was to delete it and reinstall it - each time losing all of my data! Carb Diet. Easy to use except for having to navigate separately to daily food log after entering a food instead of it appearing instantly. It's not easy to know how much you have eaten for what meals, instead you get a running count of carbs etc consumed. Also data base is not nearly as comprehensive or as accurate as My Fitness Pal. It never seems to present the simplest version of the food first: 'whole egg raw' is almost the last egg variety in the list. Trying to find fresh veg, uncooked, is also like finding needle in haystack. Like other reviewers I would like Australian foods - MFPal could do it! Overall despite above, this is best carb app.

I have done the low carb diet before as they work wonders but feel more on track and organized with this app. I like being able to look up an item before eating it to find out its details, if the product package does not say. Best out there but.... The more i use this app the more i realise how inaccurate the database is you cannot trust the carbs or calories it says have to enter your own whats the point?? Even Atkins products are very wrong! Australian database very poor.

Happy, generally. I use this app everyday n would say in general pretty good, the water n other interfaces r easy, you will still need to seek out foods numbers occasionally but otherwise is excellent.

It's not Australia user friendly. Being in Australia, it seems the site is based on American & English brands and styles of food, it could be geared more towards the Australian way of life. Bbq'd meats, seafood and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Pretty good.. Takes time to always add Australian products, but worth it for the details tracked. Best app for tracking protein as well as carbs and water. Quite happy with overall function apart from limited product listing.

Waste of money. This app doesn't work in Australia as all the food lists are for the USA. If they had a free trial version it would have been great to try out before I bought it. It was was a lot to pay for something that turned out to be useless for me. Sorry :(

Great carb counter for Atkins. I found this app by far the easiest carb counter and food log for the Atkins Diet. Finding carb values for a vast range of common and branded foods, in various quantities, is a breeze. In the early phases of Atkins you tend to eat the same thing often so being able to add favourites is really useful. I use this app on my iPad every day and it is really helping me lose weight. The only improvement would be to have more Australian brands in the database but because most Atkins meals use whole foods not packaged items it's accurate enough with a little interpretation.

Ok but needs a bit more work. I find this app to be really good for tracking carbs but find I keep just using the quick add option to just enter the carb content as all the foods listed are American. So works to count carbs but not so much as a classic food diary which is disappointing as it could do this with a few tweaks. Also frustrating to add foods that you have to include calorie content whereas for me I just wanted to enter carb content and being in Australia often have to work out the conversion of kJ to calories to include the food in this app.

Good Straightforward App. i'd like to call myself an "athelete" (although i probably can't spell it). ive been using this app for about 3 weeks and i track my protein intake and water intake. i know its a carb diet app but for my training this is great to quickly put in all i need for the day. My only gripe is that favourites / regular foods and drinks should be a special list you can access straight away as opposed to being catagorized. But its a minor issue.

WAS good... Now it's not.. When you search a food and click on the first result offered, the app shuts down. Prior to this, the app stopped responding to touch input and had to be reinstalled. It was working very well for a long while... And just in the past couple of days has become cumbersome. Will try and find another app without these issues.

Waste of money. Bought it and can only use for a week. This App got frozen for almost a week already and can not use anything. Stupid app

Very helpful. My husband and I are doing an eating plan that allows us to eat carbs from fruits and veggies but limit other sources to 20g per day. This app allows me to manually enter carbs and keep track. I also like the weight graph. I like that I can enter my weight by .1 of a pound increments so even if I just lose .3 lbs I can see it. Down 4 lbs in 3 days so far!

This app is a great help. I thought logging my meals would be really cumbersome, but it's quick and easy to use.

Worth it. Helps me track carbs accurately so I can determine my insulin dose. Very thorough. (can't get over how much salt we intake.) The ability to move a food/recipe from a classification to another would be a nice improvement to bring. What I now have to do is delete, then re-input. If you do that, I'll give you the fifth star ;-)

User friendly, quite extensive.. I'm new to the App world and found this app a bit confusing at first but that is just a result of my own inexperience with the technology. At 60 yrs old, I just had to persevere to figure it out over a couple of days. I'm glad I did...this app gives me the ability to be aware of my lifestyle choices several times per day, which is really what die/ excercise improvement is all about. I can find most food items or equivalents in the data base to keep myself on track. I haven't figured out how to do my own faves or used the personal recipes yet and may not get there. The only big issue I have right now is the metric system of measurement but I looked in the app store and there is a good free metric/conversion app that is great. All around a good little app!

So easy to use!. Love that this app has most foods available, you can save food to favorites and that it gives you a list of recent food items. The weekly average for carbs, fat etc is great to have as well as the intuitive placing of food into meals (breakfast, lunch, etc) based on time of day.

Only small flaws are less-than-perfect English in the help text, and no ability to alphabetize the list of recently-eaten foods. I really like the way it automatically categorizes the food into meals, based on the time of day you logged it - v. cool!

Could be the best!. I haven't tried ALL the carb +/or diet trackers, but I have tried many. This one is markedly superior to any of the others I've used. The database of foods is extensive and continues to grow through community effort. The breakdown of macronutrients is sufficient but not overwhelming with extraneous detail. The ability to quickly find foods, create your own list of favorites, track weight and water is pretty much everything a dieter needs who follows Atkins, Paleo, Primal and many other dietary philosophies. This app can be an essential tool for those who are wresting back their health. As with any tool, though ... you have to use it! Good luck, community!

Not Bad, could be better. While this app is marketed as a carb counter/tracker, it is essentially a calorie counter with a few tiny changes. There are spelling errors in the example foods. Products/restaurants are all American. I'm Canadian. The app asks for sodium, GI index, and fibre, but it is unclear if fibre is subtracted from carbs. Graphs only show water intake and total daily carbs. Daily percentages of total carbs shows in a pie chart and total of fat, protein, and calories are listed beside the pie chart. It would be better to show the ratio of carbs/fats/protein in a pie chart. Overall I am happier with Low Carb Diet Assistant than "Carb Tracker" which I used for two months before an update wiped out my entire "created foods" section and previous entries. I've been on Atkins since November 1999, so I have a lot of experiece with trackers. Atkins hasn't created an app for iPhone yet. I used that product on Palm PDA. It wasn't perfect, but it listed reasonable portions. Low Carb Diet Assistant offers items like "1 cup lime juice" instead of "juice of one lime, medium" or other more reasonable option. It is easier to manipulate a small amount like 1T than it is to divide large items (min. possible is 1/8th). I hope future updates will improve the low carb aspect and won't just be carried over from the calorie counter.

Frozen. It worked okay for 4 days despite closing often when I added a food. Now it's been frozen for 2 days not letting me past the first page no matter what I do. Really disappointed.

Keeps crashing and freezing!!!. I have had nothing but trouble with this app on my iPhone 6. I love the concept except for the fact that it crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME I want to add a new item to my daily food log. After it crashes I then have to go back in and repeat the steps...and it works as long as I select the exact same thing I tried the first time. If I select something different it crashes again. So every single new addition requires two attempts. That would be tolerable because I can put all my regular items in the "favourites" and can just pull from that list for my most common choices - EXCEPT for the fact that the whole thing FREEZES on me every other day and I have to DELETE IT and re-install it which causes me to LOSE ALL MY DATA!!! I wouldn't care if I hadn't paid for it, but because I did, I'm very disappointed in this app. There has been no response from the tech support so I'm forced to give this review. I'm going to have to buy a different app. :-(

Has potential but stopped working after 3 days. Very frustrating. I've had to reinstall multiple times, each time losing all my data. It works for a couple days, then dies. I want a refund or at the very least an update so that it'll work on my iPhone 6s.

Good but with a big bug.. This app is great in a lot of ways. Easy to use, good food list, can create your own fave list, monitor water and exercise and you can plan meals ahead of time. However, it has a tendency to freeze up. It's happened to me a few times and I've had to delete the app and reinstall to get it working again. I do like the app so I have done this a couple times but it's a pain because you lose all your data. Hope they fix this issue soon or I'll be looking for a new app.

LOVE IT!!!. This app is fantastic, it allows me to do everything I need to to stay on top of my diet. It tracks my weight, water, carbs, protein, calories, fiber and gives a nice report by the day or on average. The database is huge and I've yet to not be able to find something. I love the recipe feature. As per previous reviews you can change units to pounds, just go to overview screen and tap on info, screen will come up and give you option to change

Lean for life!. I love this app, I'm currently following the Lindora plan but I'm horrible at logging my food and remembering the carb count . Also because of my busy schedule I eat out a lot . This app has all the local restaurant and if I donot find my foods, I can manually enter them. I totally recommend this app to carb counters.

Looking for Guidance on Nutrition. I am sending this comment to early just like the other comment from someone else, but I would say it is good. I do agree and wish it was like fitness pal and could scan things like barcodes also the carbs are not right on the Atkins product. I have been having trouble entering my water? But it does give u a view of your intake and the graphing is good they just need to update. It would also be Great if it gave u a estimate of where u would be at?

Good little app for carb counting!. Low carb is the only diet that works for me, so I was happy to find this app, which records food, exercise, and weight. My one wish would be for the app to give more detail about that day's food on the "home" page where you see your carbs for the day in a pie chart. Right now, the food logs are a little tough to get to. Otherwise, a nice tool for us low-carbers!

Very easy app to use. I tried another low carb app but was turned off by the cumbersome database. This app has tons of searchable items. Be aware however as net carbs are not always shown. Many of the Atkins products aren't reflected net of sugar alcohol. This app is better than most but could use improvement.

Doesn't work. I am incredibly frustrated because I have been having problems with this paid app. It either crashes all the time or completely stops working. Once I open it nothing works. It's just a frozen screen. Restarting the app it my phone doesn't help. The only fix is to delete it then reinstall. By doing so I have lost all my data sever times. Then it works for a little while and back to the same problem. Other than that I find it very helpful in my dieting but useless if it doesn't work. :(

Helped me lose 95 lbs in 44 weeks. I am thrilled with this program. Tracking the carbs is what I find works for me and this app makes that easy. Exhaustive list of foods plus the ability to create your own custom entries. 62 lbs in 24 weeks and counting would not have happened without this app. Try it out.

Love this app. I have tried two other low carb apps including Atkins own app and this is by far the most user friendly one. I love that I can log my own recipes and it breaks the carb count down by portion. The only thing I wish it did is keep up with other nutrients besides carbs and fats. But other than that its awesome!!

Great Program. I've been using the program for a few weeks now, and I like It a lot. It crashes sometimes, but otherwise is the best I've used for my Atkins diet plan. It has a huge selection of foods in its database, and its really helping me to stay on top of my daily carb count. The daily entry log is really helping me soldier on in my quest to reattain the svelteness of my youth.

Perfectly no frills. I have used so many trackers that have 80 different ways to tell you the same thing. This app presents my information to me in a simple, no frills way and it works! If I watch my carbs and have a reminder to drink more water, everything else just falls into place. -missing star is for item load times and water not updating on the home screen.

Outstanding product!. I'm brand new to low carb dieting. This app is terrific for tracking all aspects of eating low carb AND healthy. Tracking water intake, exercise, nutritional values is terrific. 4 pounds in 5 days! And being an acid weight watcher for years, I have to say with the assistance of this app, the EASIEST 4 pounds I've ever lost.

Almost 5 Stars. This is a VERY good app. It would be 5 stars if it could calculate hidden carbs when you input your food label information. I think this would be helpful since 'carb counting' is what it's all about. Other than that, no out of the ordinary issues other than some random carb value issues. Keep up the good work!

Very good. Please add scanning.. I really like this app. The food search is good, the exercise search is very extensive; my only issue is that there isn't a barcode scanning capability. Still, it's really easy to add custom foods and recipes. The water log is great, something I'd asked for in my other diet/exercise apps. Definitely worth the price.

Not bad, but could be much more... This program does a pretty good job helping to keep up with calories, carbs, protein, fat, water & fiber. I like the daily weight input & when you turn your phone sideways it becomes a graph. I wish the foods from their data base was editable & a scanner would be great. It's a little hard to setup.

This app is very useful. Using it I have already lost 5 lbs. in 3 days. It would have been helpful to have had some instructions or some sort of demo, but once I figured it out, it has been great. One suggestion, offer a larger range of amounts for each food... For example, cups, ounces, pieces, & grams for each.

#1 App for those who need to watch carbs. I have downloaded over 15 apps with databases of nutritional info so I can track my carb intake. This one, by far, is the best!! I was surprised by the extensive restaurant list. This app has MUCH more listings than any other app. Keep up the great work. You are helping to save lives.

Too soon to really know. This app seems to have all the features I need. I am following the Atkins low carb guidelines so the daily intake logs are new to me but seem to help. Also I can tell in an instant if I'm drinking enough water. Having a graphical representation of weight loss is really cool too. I started getting prompts to review the app in just a few days which I think is too soon. But for now I'm pleasantly surprised.

Truly a lifesaver!. I was desperate to find a way to keep track of carbs for my son. He is on a special diet for his epilepsy. This app has taken much of the stress out of implementing this diet. I especially like the way I can add our own foods as my son has some very specific items that he eats. It would have five stars, but it does occasionally crash on me. I highly recommend this app.

Insightful. Nice app to track what you eat. Beyond weight control, it's nice to see visually on a graph the breakdown of what and how you eat...carbs, fat, and protein. One feature I'd like to see is the expansion of the Quick Carbs entry. Some foods simply are not listed in your database, yet I have the packaging in front of me where I could enter all the data. That would close the gap to enable complete entries, when a search comes up empty.

Worth every penny.. This is my first time tracking carbs and when I was thinking about doing it I found this app. It has been great. I like how it has many different graphs to look at and I can track my water. It is visually pleasing and helps to keep me motivated. I wish it had the capability to scan items but other than that it's great.

Same issues already stated in other reviews. Doesn't take sugar alcohol into equation. Would be simple to scan especially Atkins products. Does not use manually imputed info into favorites. However it does a great job of providing a tool to track carbs specifically. If the above issues were fixed, they could add another dollar to the price. Of course Granfathering would be appreciated. Awesome. This app runs smoothly and has been much more convenient and helpful than I thought it would be. I haven't had any issues with not being able to locate my foods. However it only appears to subtract dietary fiber, so if you're subtracting sugar alcohols for net carb counts, you will need to do that manually.

Really useful and easy to use. I really like this app. It can be a little challenging to find EXACTLY what you're eating, but it's close enough. Lost 10 lbs in two weeks, after a ninth without the app. Reminds me exactly how much I have left, so I have flexibility with my choices. I think I'll be using this app until I lose all the weight!

Good but small database. Very nice at a glance features with quick carb tracking. Food database is quite limited compared to "my net diary" but at least you can add quick carbs. Carb counter. Absolutely the best app in the whole world for counting carbs. This is so simple and easy to use. The quick ad for carbs on items that you already know is so useful and I’ll let you know exactly where you are and keeps you on track every single day. Awesome app!

Functionality Good - Crash Heavy. I like the functionality of this app, it's easy to find things & I can set up a recipe quickly...if it doesn't crash. It crashes almost every time I use it & especially when I'm setting up a new recipe. I want to like it & use it but my frustration with the instability may cause me to find a different app. I also can't find a way to contact the developer, the link pops up the website where they are promoting all the games they make.

Don't trust these people in Croatia. This app is tedious and so much more difficult than simply writing down what was eaten. It mis-calculated about everything, including saying that 1 and 1/2 cups of plain romaine lettuce was 8 grams of carbs. There are no carbs in lettuce. I tried to contact the company and there is no way to contact them. Go to the website, click on Contact, and it tells you to go to their website! No place to put a complaint. There address is in Croatia. I will write iTunes and request they take this vendor off. What a scam.

Lost weight - found this app useful. This is a very useful and entertaining app. I found out that I eat WAY too many carbs and it helped me keep track of what I was putting into my mouth. To improve the app, a 3 times a day reminder to complete your carb count would be helpful.

Great app. I love being able to track my goals, weight, carbs and water for a complete diet tool HOWEVER the carbs are incorrect counts especially for Atkins products. I decided to manually add my net carbs and omit the use of the food searches since they are not reliable. Otherwise it is a fantastic way to keep up with all aspects of my program and track progress to my goals that I WILL reach:)

The Good and the Bad. On the "bad" side, I have to agree with others who have found the basic food choices lacking. I create my own recipes and locating ingredients is frustrating. The brand names must be regional to wherever the developer lives because I have never heard of the majority of the brands listed so have no way to evaluate the choices. On the "good" side, tracking weight, water and foods consumed is easy.

Glenn Good. My wife showed me this app. We have been carb counting on a program for a little over a year now and have been using a hand written journal. THIS IS SOOOOO MUCH EASIER TO TRACK. I like the data base but have been conflicted on some of the carb counts vs. what's on the actual package of the product. Still learning here. Very good program to use from here on out. -gg

Could be a great app... This app is great as far as data base & very user friendly.. But it kicks me out of the app after each entry I make & after about a day it completely freezes up.. I've had it less then a week & I've had to delete it & re-download it several times because it freezes up completely.. Each time I re-down load I lose all the info. It's very frustrating, if they fix this glitch it will be a great app!

Very Good. Great carb tracker. A real eye opener when you start looking at numbers. Good variety of restaurants, able to customize personal list for quick picks, good data base of everyday foods. It isn't designed to track every aspect of a weight loss plan, but an excellent way to keep an eye on carbs, fat, and calories without a lot of effort. Does a great job for what it is designed for. Thanks for a great app!

Frozen in time. I have been using this app for a week and already experienced the freeze. I don't understand. Are there any updates or bug fixes? I have lost 3 pounds but now it's like starting all over. I'll give it one more chance. Otherwise, I find it easy to use and enjoy keeping track of my carbs so I don't go over.

Comprehensive AND Easy to Use. I've really enjoyed using this app. The interface is super-easy to navigate and it has all the features I need: weight tracker, meal and water log, and it displays all the information in a simple our graph format. I'm also really impressed with the range and accuracy of the carb counts for all of their listed foods. It's made sticking to my low-carb eating a LOT easier!

Frozen. I really like this app. The content is great. I love how it's incredibly user friendly. It tracks exactly what's needed. However every couple of days it freezes up and I literally have to delete the app and reinstall. This is really frustrating since this is a tracker. I want to be able to look back on my progress. Every time I delete the app I have to re-enter all of my data. Without this extremely annoying problem I would have been able to give five stars.

Very nice. This a great app. Couple things I would like is to show negative numbers if u go over carbs etc. also search could be a little begetter by allowing you to change qty of things like saying qty 2 hard boiled eggs instead of having to put two separate entries. Need more in database as I found a lot missing that are in other apps.

Very user friendly!. This has been my 'Go To' dieting app ever since it first came out. It is easy to use and has most all if the bases covered that are need for my purposes. I strongly recommend it for lo-carb and any other diet that can use the information and data this app compiles in a very usable format. A first rate choice!!

Best carb tracker. This is the easiest to use carb tracker. I like that it’s simple, straight forward. Unfortunately the developer is no longer updating or fixing bugs. I hope they give this app some attention soon because I love it. Have tried others and deleted all within short amount of time.

RDL. Good program. I like it over Tap & Track. This program corrects some of the things that I didn't like in Tap & Track. One thing that happened with Tap & Track with version 7.2.1 - it dropped the log page twice - it just showed up as a blank page. The only way I found to correct it was to delete the app & reinstall it. Now that I have the carb app, I don't use Tap & Track anymore. I give this one a 4.5.

Needs a scanner, but great otherwise!. I really like this app. It has me paying more attention to what I am eating. Being a Diabetic isn't easy, but this app really helps me manage it. The only thing I would suggest is a scanner so that we do not have to manually enter in our food products. That would make things SO much easier! Otherwise, great app!

Easy to use app for tracking daily net carbs. If you're watching your daily carb intake, this app makes it easy. An extensive database of generic foods as well as brand names. You can also add foods quickly by recording carbs from nutrition labels, and add your favorite foods so you don't have to type in each time. Keeps track and totals carbs consumed per day as well as other nutrients ( eg sodium). Keeps logs and shows charts of eating habits, weight, BMI.

Buckeye. I have been using this app for a couple of months. I hit a plateau in my low carb diet and wanted to track every carb I was consuming. This is easy to use, has a huge database, and does not require wifi so it is easy to use when our to eat. I also was able to pull up the logs and reports for my doctor, who was impressed with the information In four months I have lost 60 pounds!

Needs more foods: brand name, restaurants, etc. some stores I've never heard of.. I like the layout, easy to navigate. A scanner like the weight watchers app would be GREAT. Some conflict on the carbs found on the app and the actual food. Another great feature would be to have it calculate how much weight is lost . (weekly and cumulatively) A reward system would work too. (icons for 5 lbs, 10 lbs, etc-- again like weight watchers on line) Something that instills motivation.

Doesn't work!. Love what the app does, but in the 2 weeks I've had it, it has frozen twice. When I try to use it, nothing happens. I can open the app, but nothing in it is functional. Only way I have been able to fix it has been to remove it, and reinstall, which means I lost all the data associated with my account. I'm not willing to go through this again, so I'm out. Will keep an eye out for an update addressing this, but it doesn't look like there has been one in quite some time, so I'm not holding my breath.

Best carb app... But MAJOR disappointment. I downloaded this app after trying several others and this one is by far the best... The layout, charts, etc... All great. The problem is that one day I open it and it just freezes. I tried everything, a hundreds reboots of the app and my phone and I simply couldn't get the app to function at all... It would open, but was just unusable. It never worked again, I had to delete and reinstall and LOST EVERY PIECE OF DATA I HAD INPUT. I'm disappointed to say the least... I don't even want to go thru the hassle to re-input so much data since it could happen again. Geesh.

I want to like this app.... Here's the deal. This app works great for tracking carbs. I love that I can input my recipes and their food database is decent. But after three days of using it the app becomes unresponsive and I have to delete the app in order for it to start working again. But because they don't back up your data to a database, i.e. There's no sign in, I lose all of the recipes and the data that I've spent time entering in. So until they fix this problem don't bother getting this app it's a waste of three dollars.

Crashes - Must Delete (data lost) - Reinstall - Repeat. App has crashed twice in the first week of ownership/ use. As noted by many others, you can only recover by deleting the app and reinstalling, but all your previously entered data is lost. I wish I would have looked at the reviews more closely, since the overall rating of 4 stars is completely misleading. If you sort to read the customer reviews “Most Recent” first, the most current reviews this past year are terrible. They cite the same problem as above, with no response from the developer. Don’t waste your money/ time.
