Broken deposit image capture. The automatic image capture for checks never works for non-standard check sizes such as medical reimbursements. In the old app you could manually take a picture of a check but this has been removed. Very frustrating to remove this, I might move to another bank since this is the main use of the app for me.

Convenient. Deposit a check anywhere anytime. Instantly see transactions on your card. Love It.

Pure CR@P!. Won’t load, checked to see if “I’m human” 17 times in a row then crashed. Keeps locking me out of my account. This is my business account & I can’t have failure like this. I can’t make deposits. Im am soooo frustrated I want to SCREAM!!! Thinking of moving on. RCU has always been personable and responsive. But, seems they have joined the ice cold corporate world and left us on our own. Things were fine just as they were. Why was this “new & improved digital” cr@p forced on us?

Best banking experience. I had just started my work career and had no good or bad credit history just moved into a bigger place to call home for my new family I met my banking agent Leia was so helpful in explaining everything I needed to know to start a plan that would help me establish a direct deposit with my employer, a savings and debit card , that lead to to my first credit card and shortly after my very first car loan and now me and my family have a beautiful SUV. Red wood Credit union is by far the best banking experience I’ve ever had. My step son has his first job and Myself along with his mom was so very proud to sit with him while he opened his Redwood Credit union account. Not only myself but about half of the staff at my job bank with Redwood Credit Union. . I recommend them to friends and family. I am very blessed and grateful to be a member.

Easy to use. Still getting use to the app but so far it has been easy to navigate through it

Must have app!!!. So helpful. Check balances, transfer funds from account to account or from institution to institution. I have found the Redwood Credit Union app to be very helpful.

RCU member since 1997. RCU app is very easy to work with which is to be expected because the bank has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced.

New and GREATLY Improved. I’ve been an RCU customer for a few years. The previous app left something to be desired. This redesigned version is a huge improvement. My favorite feature is how customizable the landing screen is. You can have non-RCU accounts linked, and you can easily toggle which accounts you want visible/invisible.

App not working. I been having issues with this new app I even got a new phone, app takes forever to load when I tried to use it. I went in person to my bank and was informed there’s nothing they can do and it was actually my “old version of my phone “ I went to Apple Store and they can’t help me because it’s not my phone it’s the app. I’m thinking in changing banks due to this issue 🥺.

I would rather click on each account to open. I wish all the accounts were not open for me to see all at one time but would prefer if I could open whichever one I wanted to see, since I have multiple accounts with my kids since they were little.

Not the best. This new app may allow some new things but it no longer gives a sum total of all your accounts which the old one did. Seems a simple thing to include but makes me wish I hadn’t moved to the new platform. Once you do it, you can’t go back on any of your devices.

Quick action. I really love this bank because theres no charge on checking account and very accessible. Quick action if theres a problem occur. Thanks for the crews. Love you all guys.

Minor fixes. I like the new app quite a lot but I’ve made all my apps on “dark mode” and I would love that option especially wouldn’t mind a greener option.

Took some getting use to.. When the new app rolled out I hated it and still kinda do but I’m getting use to it..And yes I am One of them People that hate change lol …wish we could have some stuff back from the old app but it is what it is🤣

ALWAYS HERE 4 ME. Just wanted to thank the R C U CREW for all they do from online help with the new App. And at my Local. Branch the people have alway been helpful. I do have a SUGGESTION for the App. When you transfer funds and you have the option of putting a COMMENT for that transaction!! Why can’t we use Emojis or just a $ Sign in the comments & maybe a few more spaces in the COMMENT BOX..A picture is worth a thousand Words Thank yoy

New app!. I’m a long time RCU customer and immediately began using the new app when I was offered it on the webpage. It is easy to navigate and has simplified the online banking process. I will be with RCU forever. Thank you

Great app. The app is great. Especially since they added part that shows you how much you spend in a month or in a year. It honestly help me to change how I spend my money. I do, however, miss the quick view that allows you to view your balances without logging in. Update: I was contacted by a developer and they redirected me to the quick view. Even more points from me for this assistance. Thank you

The new check autocaputre is a nightmare. The app is fine overall. However it frustrating how the image autocapture fails so many times before actually accepting the image when depositing checks. Taking the picture of the front of the check is easy but it is the back one that always fails multiple times, even though i have positioned check correctly. Never happened with old app or with the wells fargo app. Please look into this. Overall i like the app.

Hate this new design.. Hate this new design. Can’t find account numbers, can’t rcu pay? And why can’t I transfer from my business account to personal? If I could give you zero stars on this app I would. This is the first review I’ve ever done! I loved the old app. Even my computer illiterate father could operate the old app. This new one will definitely take some time to get use to

New rcu app. Once I got used to the new app, I really appreciated easier use and more options, like spending analysis or doing a savings plan.

I like the new app!. I can enter the new RCU app much more easily and all my accounts are integrated! The tabs are make things more accessible too.

Amazing upgrades. I am really enjoying the new layout and features. Thank you RCU! The sign in for multiple accounts is a lot more user friendly as well! I also like how it automatically linked all my accounts in one place!

Major features not working. Such as the ability to pay your Redwood CC? You cant pay statement balance via schedule. Only immediately. Or you can pay just the minimum as scheduled. Its extremely inconsistent. This is a major problem leading to missed and late payments . I just want to schedule a payment. Should this be so hard?

Much better than the old app. The old app was outdated and clunky. This one feels more smooth and similar to what you would find with a big bank

Not easy to use bill pay. The bill pay feature is confusing and difficult to navigate. It has been this way for a very long time now. It was straight forward years ago. I’m surprised it has not been addressed

Super frustrating- cannot deposit. Not sure what the problem is but app keeps telling me to download the new app, which I do. Then I try to make a deposit and the screen goes blank when I try to take the images. I’ve started the process over and over again. It simply doesn’t work. I never had problems with the previous version.

New app. The new app doesn’t seem as clear as the old one. On my loans, the next due date isn’t visible on the main page like it was before. I manage loans for my kids’ cars and a credit card so it was nice not to have to think about when each was due with the old version. Also seems like the transaction amounts and balances aren’t as clear to read and don’t stand out like the previous app. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but it doesn’t seem like much of an improvement.

The earlier app was good enough for my purposes.. With this edition, the developers still need to improve and repair the search feature to the original quality. I miss the earlier version, but this seems like it has potential. We’ll see

The new app is garbage!!. After receiving an email from Redwood credit Union, suggesting I switched to the new app I did. It was worst mobile banking nightmare I have experienced so far.I was not able to login with my original credentials, and when I tried to change my password, it would not let me do it not once, but twice I finally called up the institution to help me reset the whole process.I tried it, and it worked while she was on the phone but later in the evening when I try to sign on again, I had the same issues I plan on going back to the original app until they can fix this problem. And they will be expect a visit to the branch in the very near future 😡

Best local bank. Redwood credit union is my most favorite bank ever they treat everyone the way people should be treated!! Thank you redwood credit union😀

Why change what works?. I much prefer the old app…it was a much more intuitive, easy to navigate format! Maybe there’s other options available that make it an “improvement”, but I’m not seeing it! That being said, it’s always a nice thing to be able to deposit checks and transfer money without going into the bank, so at least there’s that! Lol

Account locked. After numerous tries to reset a password I have given up. I loved the old app and touch sign in worked perfectly. Switching over hasn’t worked. What a pain. I am 86 years old and when you make changes why do you make them more difficult.? Now I have to waste more time to call you and reset a password yet again. I’m really sorry I took your suggestion to update before it became obligatory and have you do it for me

Can’t Download on Device - Very Frustrating. This app shows loaded to my iPhone but isn’t on the face to select the app. I have to use the old version to then select the new version EVERY TIME I TRY TO ACCESS MY ACCOUNT. I’ve deleted the old version and completely shut down my phone and then tried to reload the application but only get the option to open it, not to download it. Completely frustrating and I can’t find anywhere to fix this problem.

Bill Pay. Bill pay is still harder to use that the one from a couple of years ago. Simple is best in my opinion.

Old App was Better. Not liking the new App at all! Instead of making this a gripe fest with A list of fix its. Here is just one Fix it so I don’t have to turn off my VPN to be able to login to this Bank App! Pretty counterintuitive, turn off your VPN when your connected to public Wi-Fi to be able to log into your bank.

App Loading Issues. I don’t know why but the app refuses to load on my iPhone 14. I’ve tried to reinstall it multiple times but I’m still having the same issue. It works fine on my iPad but just won’t work on my phone which is incredibly frustrating.

Wish my colleagues would leave this bank. I absolutely hate this bank and how it refuses to communicate with certain banks. It doesn’t allow linking between accounts with non credit unions. I get you’re trying to be “unique” but you’re a bank at the end of the day, nothing you do is done out of morals but instead profits LIKE ANY OTHER BANK. Your atms are constantly broken or have some actions not available. Why? I couldn’t tell you because when I ask they just say “sorry but we’re working on it.” Totally make me feel like they’re pushing me away because I’m bothering them. If none of my Northern California friends who are to scare to bank anywhere else id never use your app or terrible bank.

Needs improvement. The new RCU app needs improvement. When going into BillPay, it’s confusing on how to exit out. When you click on the back arrow on the top left corner, it doesn’t take you back to the account summary or the screen where you were before BillPay. It just gives you a blank screen. If you click on the back arrow, it opens BillPay again. Naming, in my opinion, was better in the previous version. Like ‘Accounts’ is now ‘Cash Accounts’. And it has a category called ‘Move Money’ for transferring money. The “Move Money” seems unprofessional. Overall, the previous version is better.

One stop shop. It is so much nicer now that all the accounts are “merged “ into one spot now. Paying bills is a lot quicker now too. Super convenient. I came from B of A and should have done it years ago!

Easy to use. Initially I was not looking forward to having to learn a new app, however after using my online banking I really like the new update, thanks RCU!

Great app except. The app is great, just wish we could type special characters in the comment box when transferring money. ,,!!$$&&/ . We used to be able to on the old app. Could you guys bring that back?

Bad app. Do you not like a lot harder to find things? The old app is perfect. Can’t even figure out how to make my car payment now I hate it when you guys supposedly change things that are perfect and all you do is screw it up the only thing that I do like about the new app is I have two different accounts and I can do both accounts going under one user name, other than that, I do not like it

Cant upload check pictures. I updated to the new app format and it has been ok except for the last few weeks I have not been able to upload images of checks. It’s frustrating and I am not always able to go to the bank. Can this be fixed? Edit: I contacted the company via the email below, and they responded almost immediately with a solution and easy instructions. I’m super impressed with the responsiveness, and it was able to be fixed. Now a 5 star rating (both for the app & the company’s responsiveness to fix it)

Why fix something that’s not broken. This new app is giving me too much trouble. The old one worked just fine and I never had any issues. This new one will not let me deposit any of my checks. I’ve tried everything. It won’t let me take a picture and the app crashes every-time I try.

Convenient features but mobile deposit doesn’t work. The app is visually appealing and well designed. Most features are helpful but since the new update the mobile deposit doesn’t work. The app freezes when trying to take the picture. (My OS is up to date)

New app. Everything new takes some getting use to. The last app allowed us to have all our accounts in one place now we have separate accounts in the new app as well as our joint account. I think I’ll get use to the new layout but for now it seems harder to read and identify what transactions are and which card made then. The coloring isn’t bold or different like before. But it works and we love the bank, there are worse things to worry about.

New app is harder to read. New font is smaller and hard to read. Seems like less information is available on each screen

Better performance but. Love the new look the performance to is getting better, I would love if you can work on the iPad version, is to slow most of the time but other than that i like the new interface

Nice clear interface. New app presents very nicely, and is easy to navigate. I’ve only noticed a few things that are important to me that would be nice to see again if possible: the scheduled transfers used to be a menu choice, now I have to search for it to find it; and the interest accrued on auto loan used to be up front on the loan information, now is only viewable by opening the detail menu on the loan, which is okay, just an xtra step. Appreciate all the other new features and probably increased security of the new app, and love being able to access my banking info on my mobile device, thanks RCU! P.s. noticed desktop login has “scheduled transfers” in the menu, just the mobile app lacks it so far.

Seemingly no manage cards tab?. Can’t find it for the life of me I think I’m blind. Don’t know why the app changed

Deposit. I like the old app better. It’s so much easier to deposit my checks and navigate. I have been trying to make a deposit on this new app for the last hour and all I got is a blank screen.

Doesn’t work. I haven’t been able to log in since the downloads. Nothing works to log in and I have no idea what’s been in my account in 2 weeks.

Takes forever to open. The new app looks better but it takes about 4 mins to even load the front page.

Go back to the old app!. This app setup is terrible. The old way the app was organized was much more appealing. It was easier to organize accounts, view deposits and transfers.. everything! The design is just terrible.

Loading screen.. Every 1-2 logins my app freezes and gets stuck on loading screen. Update this bug it ruins the app.

Dislike!!. I have not been able to get in my account; since the app change. A ring just goes around, like it is loading but it never loads.

Confusing Layout. I hate the new look. Hard to see where everything is. I liked seeing all my checking & savings accounts together in one place & all my credit accounts & loans in another place.

Wish. I wish mobile deposit would work in the new app. That is the feature I missed the most and now I have to drive to the bank every week and wait in line. Hopefully they can fix this feature soon.

Dislike. I personally do not like this new version and wish it wasnt mandatory. Its got a very generic looking layout and just looks all bunched together. The other app was simple and easy to navigate.

My bill due dates. Why was the bill due dates taken away? I don’t want to click 5 buttons just to see when my bill is due

Transfer memos no longer allow special characters. Even the old app allowed it. I used special characters a lot to break down how much was going for $x amount in each transfer. I frequently used “$” “,” “.” “&” and none of those 4 are allowed. It’s ridiculous how a “new” app in 2023 doesn’t allow this.

Worst app. Worst app ever I can’t even freeze a card through it. I got a new card in the mail and it wasn’t available to be used through the app until I got it physically like the old app! Now the new card hasn’t showed on the app. If I didn’t have a CC with this company I’d switch banks immediately.

New RCU app. I hate the new app. There is no easy way to find bank statements from the accounts dashboard. P And it’s now importing download CSV statements or transactions. The old app worked much better. Please reestablish it.

Can’t make a deposit. Seemed good until I tried to make a mobile deposit. Just have a black screen. 😬

So confusing. I don’t even get how to pay my car off! I just wanted to put some money down and nothing even went through I gave it a few minutes but nothing. Just trying to pay my bills thank you

New app. The new app is not at all up to date…. My different account numbers don’t show up together. My investments that used to show up on the main homepage, now they are no where to be seen. It definitely went backwards on the ease of use aspect.

Awful, still. Yet again the capture check mobile deposit doesn’t work. This app also makes it harder to search through transactions and you can’t view previous checks picture when looking in history

Not an upgrade whatsoever. There was nothing wrong with the previous app. This one is overly complicated, requiring too many selections to carry out simple tasks. An absolute waste of time, money, and energy.

New app. I really don’t like the new app. It is much harder to find anything on. It’s not as convenient as the last app it’s way more confusing.

So confusing don’t know why they changed it. Can’t find anything. Nothing is clear the look is so dumb haven’t found one thing I like about this new update
