Did a high schooler build this?. There are pretty new points to this app, but it’s still just a window dressing on the web site, AND you’ve killed the webcam views and usability on iPad. Can’t view the resort map either because with location turned on, it crashes and closes out every time it realizes I’m not on the mountain. In a non app related suggestion…how about investing in decent webcams that provide clear images, affix them to something that won’t constantly be bumped, and actually fix the Midway cam that’s been frozen on the same image for weeks.

Go back to the previous mobile app. The UI of this app is more cumbersome than that of the previous app

New app. The new app is horrible. What happened to the old one it was intuitive simple and easy to follow. It doesn’t seem to navigate well or take you where you want to go. I’m very sorry to see how it’s changed. Eddie Paltrineri

BRING BACK THE OLD APP!!!. This new app is a terrible departure from the old one. Confusing, poorly laid out yo UI, can't even load the NOAA weather forecast in the app, looks like it was hacked together carelessly. The old one was so beautiful and smooth. Whhhhyyyyy 😫

Food. Trying to find if restaurants are open and when. Tough find

New app is bad why change a good thing. Old app was better more user friendly way more information. New app is not good for active skiers more suited for Karen and her kids.

Tracking friends where?. Hard to find stuff

Terrible. Way worse than the old app they’re forcing us to switch from. Extremely limited functionality. Also, why bother getting all these fake 5-star reviews for a ski app??

Made a bad app worse. The links do not work. You have to click 20 things just to get to forecast. Could not be more difficult to navigate.

So much worse than the last version!. Wow, this app is garbage. When an app is less helpful than the website, then what is the point of having an app?! Key issues that are a MINIMUM feature set: - grooming report (in text and map form) - Trail maps - full conditions report is “hidden” in some menu; why is this not in the main screen?! This is literally all we care about! - ordering food screen is confusing! You can’t even get to the menus easily. So many pages just link you back to the website (which again, what is the point of an app) - webcam screens have incorrect thumbnails showing

Crystal app. One star only because I couldn’t give it 0. Old app was much more useful, easier to use and had way better info. This seems to just be a tool to track the user. 👎

New update is awful. The old version immediately showed the weather and the webcams. The new one incessantly bugs you to sign in and then fails to actually show weather or status. Ruined a decent app

Your stats. This is a great app for keeping track of yourself on mountain. This is not a great app for keeping up to date with mountain events or weather. Descriptions of daily reports isn’t bad. Overall updates of events and mountain top cameras is very poor.

Accurate and easy to use!. Love the new ski tracking feature and its accuracy. Thanks for making a great new app, Crystal!

Backwards movement. The previous app was much better before Alterra took charge. I try to sign in and does not work, I try to sign up again and says a missing field but all is filled in. You cannot zoom on webcams anymore. The map does not show all the runs - you have to go to the trail map. Rather click on the old app to get linked to the website. Much better functionality which is not how apps are supposed to work.

The app is pretty much useless.. Alterra Corp has really cheaped out on app development. Most of the links in the app just redirect you back to the website. They advertise on their Mountain update to order food via the app. Good luck doing that. Can’t even order lift tickets or anything. This is pretty typical of Alterra Corp. I’m sure if the app was responsible for making sure the CEO got paid it would function 100%.

Old app was better. Used to be able to see all webcams on one page. Maps were better. New app has broken links. Many links just take you to the website version.

best features have been lost down a tree well. The 7day NOAA forecast was the best feature, and now it doesn’t work. Even trail maps won’t open. The only good thing is that you can still have the old app installed in parallel and just use that.

App crashes and freezes. Had to reinstall as it keeps freezing. Will adjust if you fix the issues. Plz

TERRIBLE. I have no idea who de used to roll out this new app but it's terrible. Layout is designed by a 1st year IT student. The flow is non existent. I feel like a blind person trying to navigate the New York Subway. The forecast section looks like a 5th grader designed it.

Conditions broken. The weather/conditions link has been broken this entire season if not longer. Trail/lift and other links work fine. Those are the only two links most users use. iPhone 12 mini, multiple iOS versions.

Doesn’t track speed anymore. So annoying that the app upgrade no longer allows you to track your speed on runs.

Bring Back the Old App. Terrible “upgrade”. Hard to navigate. No more NOAA 7 day link. No more base, mid and top temps (just base). 4 day forecast graph isn’t even labeled. What the heck does it even mean? Pleas re-enable old app until this one actually works!

Conditions. It would be nice if a giant tab titled “conditions” would appear somewhere on your app. It’s pretty much all we need to know. Also, a ski resort app should be the last app you need to customize or log into. My situation does not change the ski conditions of the mountain. -Respectfully, someone who’s been skiing your mountain for 30+ years.

Needs work on weather. Links are broken from the detailed weather site to the long term forecast and Northwest Avalanche Center info. Temp data does not say what altitude or if summit, midway or base. Cannot enlarge the web cam sites now to see details. I would like to see overnight snowfall data, not just 24 hr snowfall. Wind speed “variable “ with no range is useless data. The NWAC does show this data if the link is restored.

Glitchy. Map icon on bottom displays map with no trail information or anything useful. App crashed repeatedly when choosing this option. Web cams views are not scaleable or available in landscape mode.

New Crystal App. The prior App was easier to navigate. The large green map doesn't need to be at top. Web cam doesnr always work. Odd placement of links for web cams and mountain report

Should have kept the old app. The new app adds a few features that could have been easily added to the old app. The new app is riddled with links that don’t work. They’ve buried common features that now require several clicks to get to. Until they fix it add web links to the Home Screen.

So much opportunity…. Not a simple layout. Can organize better. Get to most important info faster. Have people read latest news/alerts first. Quickly allow to book parking.

Halfway there. If the idea of the guide map is to help guide while on the hill, it should have tails labeled so you don’t have to go back and forth. The main map is pretty good though.

Hard to find info. The new app is missing a lot of info. Gone is the daily report from ski patrol and the links to telemetry data.

Downgrade from old app. Updating my old review: (2023)App gets even worse! Issues include: -slow load time (esp trail status and webcams) -missing link to 7-day NOAA forecast -links in mtn report don’t work -event calendar date selection requires scrolling. Just show a calendar with dots. Old review (2022): Not sure why Crystal felt the need to release a new app instead of upgrading the old one. Trail maps don’t open and full snow report just opens a link to mobile web.

Two thumbs down. Why would you replace your app. with one that is worse? This app is not easy to navigate and looks like it was developed with sub-par software.

Last app was better. I was able to access the old app with my watch and see webcams. Cannot do it with new app. Was supper disappointed the Apple Watch doesn’t have access to new app features

Going backwards?. This app was so much better only a few months ago.

A free app that is overpriced. New version ruined tracking. The latest version of the app requires a connection to their server before you can activate tracking. As most people who go to CM know, cell coverage is horrible. There have been days that I haven’t been able to load a session in order to start the tracking. The whole app is kind of a step backwards from the prior version. When tracking does work, the details are pathetic. For each run it should give run/where, time of day, duration, avg speed and max speed like the prior version. Needs lots of work on Weather and Forecast. The Parking tab is a dismay. I normally get “404-Something is off here.”

Freezes on first screen. Absolutely useless. Stuck on the first screen - continue button does nothing.

Not responsive, crashes, no trail map. The old app currently works better. Any updates coming to fix the new one? No obvious link to trail map. A link is buried in the app that redirects to the website. The website link is not currently working.

Nothing Works. The old app worked just fine, this new one is completely worthless. I’ve had it downloaded for 3 weeks now and every time I open it all it says for hours, trails status and weather is “not available”.

Has-been wannabe ski area. In over half a century CM never charged for parking and offered a first rate ski experience adored by its faithful clientele. Then along came a corporate buyout by Aspen business gurus Alterra. The day lodge got a makeover with tagger art, decor suggestive of the I-5 express lanes through downtown Seattle. Now CM charges for parking and has raised the season pass rate by a staggering 70% since last year. Here on the plaza on a sunny Friday afternoon enjoying the nonexistent après ski scene, where we used to dance to live bands. Now the fireside cantina window closes hours before the lifts do. To get a beer requires climbing the stairs to the bull wheel bar, but don’t bother asking for a pitcher. Those got poured out with the new ownership. As my wife (who has skied CM since it opened more than 60 years ago) says of the new owners, “They’ve cut the heart out of the Crystal Mountain community.” The terrain is still 5-star. The experience has been reduced to 2-star.

Website difficult to navigate. I’ve spent so much time on your app and website trying to register my vehicle, then trying to reserve a spot. Finally was able to, however it wouldn’t accept my ikon pass so I had to pay for parking when I am a pass holder. Very frustrating.

How could it get any worse?!. I don’t know how you could possibly make an app worse than it was before. However, you have succeeded.

Crystal mountain. I love this app since I can just click on the app and then I can look and the web cams and I get notifications if they are holding traffic the app is such a good app

Trail Maps Don’t Open. Trails maps don’t open from the info tab. What’s the point of this app if I can’t access the maps.

Great except for bathrooms. The snow is great! The bathrooms smell.

No brown bag room.. No brown bag room and the base area looks like the ghetto with food trucks etc. The only thing going for Crystal is it’s great terrain!
