Owlet Dream Comments & Reviews 2026

Will never recommend or buy again. I use both the camera and the sock and am disappointed by both. For products that are supposed to aid in peace of mind and security, these do the opposite. They are consistently inaccurate, unreliable and disruptive to the sleep of us as parents as well as our baby. First, the camera is constantly losing connection. And it’s not an issues with the internet because the sock will stay connected (as well as all other devices on the network). Additionally, there’s no easy way to trouble shoot the problem. The app sends you in circles without providing any helpful feed back. The app lags and the readings are almost never right (it currently is reading the nursery at 91°….the heat is set to 68° and is nowhere near 90). The sock is consistently inaccurate, I will be holding my baby that has been sound asleep for 15 minutes while the sock is reading as “awake”. Even worse, on more than one occasion we’ve been woken by “red” alerts only to run into the baby’s room and see her peacefully sleeping. This happened 3 times in a row one night, to the point that we were waking her to ensure she was ok (she was perfectly fine,’my husband is an EMT and checked her over). As new parents and an infant, getting a good nights sleep is vital to be able to function during the day and these products hinder that. If someone told me they wanted to buy either of these products, I would strongly advise against it. I hear great things about Nanit though.

Saved my son’s life. During the first week that my son was born, he was not breathing when he was sleeping, and we only found out about because of this amazing socks! On the first day that we came from the hospital, we put this sock and when he slept the alarm went off, and we saw him, he was turning blue, and then we woke him up, brought him to the hospital and found out that he wasn’t breathing when going to deep sleep. If I hadn’t had this sock, he wouldn’t be here today! It was so hard for me almost losing him, and now I cannot sleep if he isn’t wearing the sock and being monitored. The app is also great because I can check him when I’m not at home, and I can talk to him. And also, all the notifications go to my phone and every device that this app is installed. The only complaint that I have is that sometimes when I’m not at home, I have troubles connecting to the camera. And often it does not show the updated vital signs, and I have to close and reopen the app many times. But I truly recommend the app and the sock!

Owlet dream sock camera. I love that I can monitor my twins using the owlet camera and sock. I just have a issue with it being I have twins. Now that it’s updated, if I have just one twin on my phone I can read the heart rate oxygen level in the screen. But if I put both up I only see the one. I think it be real helpful, especially with mommas with twins to be able to see the heart rate and oxygen in the screen when turned over. Just to put the parents mind at ease. I also will say sometimes it does take forever to really know if they are asleep if I look on my camera or just the sock readings, more than I go look in their rooms. Just wanted to put insight for moms with multiple’s especially due to the fact they come early more than likely, and just to put ease on our minds. Otherwise I recommend the owlet to everyone. Even though the price is a little higher than I think. But much easier now for families who have to use these non stop at home than going through insurance. Or hopefully they can have the option for this to help them too.

Sock itself is great, App is worthless. This app needs serious improvement. It claims to “clinacally proven, medical grade accuracy” which is true, as long as you can get the app to stay open long enough to load the levels. The app is constantly quitting while in the middle of “loading” my babies vitals and sleep state. It takes 10 or so minutes to update the current sleep state. And often times, I click on my babies profile to see the sleep state and it shows there is no sock connected, causing me to reset everything at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 in the morning. The range from sock to base is not designed for bigger houses. When we bring our babies from their room to the living room, the base will beep at you constantly because of connectivity issues. And our living room is the same distance as their room. Even if you turn the base off completly, it seems to still beep after a few minutes of getting readings. And when it is beeping at you, trying to open the app takes even longer so I’m sitting there overstimulated with a screaming baby and a phone & base that won’t stop beeping because the app takes FOREVER to load. I love that this is designed to alert me and to keep my baby safe and I will say it has helped me get better sleep since my twins were born. But we spent almost $700 on these two owlet socks. For that money, this app should be working way better than what it is. Do better, Owlet. Do way way better.

The app is very unreliable. We are happy with the sock and that it works even when the internet is out…but the app is horrible and incredibly unreliable. We had an unexpected/unexplained episode with our son (5 weeks old) that required a 911 call. Thankfully, he was ok! But the night following said episode, our sock was “disconnected” from the app. We desperately needed to monitor his heart rate and oxygen throughout the night, especially for our own peace of mind and it was impossible. And there was NO WAY to speak to anyone with Owlet support bc it happened at like 12:30am…Owlet’s customer service was closed! We tried every troubleshooting we could find online…after a few very rough and sleepless hours later, their app just starts working normal again and our sock was “reconnected” - it was incredibly frustrating. Then, a few nights later our camera was “offline” even though it was showing connected to the internet and working properly…it’s assumed it was another app failure bc we had no way (once again) to fix it…even after all troubleshooting completed. This sock and camera are incredibly expensive! And for these things to happen is unacceptable. For the price, at least Owlet can include a monitor for the camera. The phone is nice, but it drains the battery.

Cheap!!!. I haven’t even used the dream sock yet and I already feel scammed out of my $300 purchase. For a costly product, this is the best they can do for an app that is required to USE it?! Setting up an account it took me 3 tries to set a password…first I typed one in and it gave me an error saying it needed to be longer. Ok, so I go to add some length and it deletes what I already have inputted. Now my re-typed potential password is long enough so I try again and it gives me an error saying it needs to say “STRONG” before it is acceptable. Ok…so I go to add some numbers and it deletes what I already have inputted. Now my re-typed potential password is long and reads as “STRONG” so I try again and it gives me an error saying it needs to have a special character. Could you guys not have all these directions listed at one time..? Just clunky UX/UI design that shows me how little money they put back into the product. not something you want to do one handed holding an infant at 7am. Then it asks for my birthday and I input it. It glitches and saves something completely different. I have to fix it twice. It asks for my phone number on the same page and each time I save it it vanishes. I literally have not even tried to pair and use the sock yet and frankly I’m scared since it hinders what should be the easiest part of set up. This is an absolute joke and I’m shocked more people aren’t talking about how trash this is. Absolutely preying on fearful parents and vulnerable infants making a seemingly necessary product charging an absurd price and then putting none of that profit back into the users. So mad.

Peace of mind, but…. I will start off with saying having the owlet sock has given me a lot of peace of mind and allowed me to sleep at night. It is also nice to be able to pick up my phone and see it is registering a pulse from him, so I don’t need to poke a sleeping baby to make sure he’s alive. However, for the price of the device, which I am privileged to be able to afford, is a lot of money for many people. And for that price, I would think that the app itself wouldn’t glitch so much. It’s stressful to go into the app to check on the baby & it prompts you to register a device or says that it is disconnected from the WiFi. Or having the device go off multiple times a night for placement issues but the baby is sound asleep and hasn’t moved a muscle. Meanwhile, this morning I forgot to put the sock on the charger after taking it off and the placement alarm didn’t go off until over an hour later. Why didn’t it register there was no pulse for an hour? What if that was my baby? I’m happy I got the device, but the glitches make me question its reliability.

I love it but it needs some fixes!. This SAVED my sanity! I love using this sock for three things. 1, knowing that my baby is breathing. 2, knowing if he’s asleep or not, I can take my phone with me to a different room and can tell if his BPM are in the sleeping range. And 3, I love looking at how his night went. There are a few improvements that need to be made. The threshold for when the red alert goes off is too low for the BPM. It doesn’t go off until 50 beats per minute and it’s way too low. I should be able to edit what I want it to alert me at. The app also needs fixing for refresh issues as well. It takes way too long to get a current reading on sleep. (It is super fast with oxygen and BPM). It also sometimes isn’t accurate when he is actually sleeping vs. awake, sometimes it says he’s awake and he is in active sleep and sometimes it says he’s in light sleep when he’s actually wide awake. Overall I love it but it just needs some improvements.

Only 4 stars because…. Let me start off by saying this device has been a God send to me and my family. It has caught RSV twice with my daughter, the warnings are very prompt and I’ve never had any glitch issues. It’s been 5 stars in my book for almost 2 years!! HOWEVER, the reason for only 4 stars is just from a recent discovery. I recently changed jobs and I now work night shifts while my husband now stays home with our daughter while I’m at work. I told him to download the app so he could have the alerts on his phone. He created himself an account, registered the device and IM NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE THE SOCK REGISTERED TOO. When I keep her during the day, and she lays down for a nap the sock cannot be registered for BOTH parents. This is INSANE to me. Like only one parent can have the app downloaded because they’re the constant monitor of the child. BOGUS. The sock is on the same wifi where BOTH parents live with SEPARATE owlet accounts. But if he registers the sock it’s only on his app, if I add it back to mine it deletes it from his. Seriously, so stupid. Technology is TOO ADVANCED these days for this.

Setup is awful. I download the app. Select join owlet. Fill out password and email to setup my account. Sends verification email and then displays won’t proceed until email is verified. Swap apps to email, click link, it stated congrats you are verified proceed in the app. Go back to app and it is back at square one. Click login get error, select join email already taken. After fighting with it I found that if I leave the error on screen without hitting ok, it eventually loads in the background and says welcome to the family. Once that screen appeared I hit Ok and then proceeded with finishing my setup. One the setup started it sees my wireless network and I get notification that the device joined my network, from my wireless router, then the join process states failure. About an hour of troubleshooting and rebooting things I found the wireless reset for the owlet and that allowed me to connect. No where on the box does it state that this only works with 2.4GHz and I had a fear that this was potentially my issue. As a hardware product very behind the times as 5GHz has been out for a while and 6GHz is out now. Not the best experience for the amount of money that was just dropped to purchase this device.

History/reads never available. First off, customer service was terrible. I needed a new cord because for some reason the one provided stopped working. Having the function of messaging with them was nice but three separate times I sent pictures of the cord and the adapter part only to be shipped the wrong cord 3x! How does that happen.. finally fourth time the woman said they were all out and couldn’t put me on a waitlist. So I had to buy a $15 cord which wouldn’t be a problem but what’s the point of paying for a warranty then..When I first started using the sock everything was great back in beginning of July. I updated the app and now it’s gone down the tubes. Constantly saying connection issues and will go off all the time unless I manually turn the base on then off. I never can see any data while she has it on anymore nor do I see the quality of sleep. Worst part is you try looking at past days and you can’t even see the sleep quality anymore. What’s the point of the $400 sock? This app need major work fast because it’s not right as a first time parent to just want a little peace of mind and this type of stuff happens.

Frame frozen. So I chose the option to minimize the screen so I could see my daughter while also listening to a tik tok live while I was in the shower. I was constantly checking the picture and she was sound asleep. When I got out of the shower I thought I heard my daughter cry but when I looked at the screen my daughter was sound asleep. When I opened the bathroom door, I could hear my daughter screaming crying and looked at the app again and it showed that she was still sound asleep in the same position she was when I minimized the picture! Even when I went in to get her and pick her up, I looked at my phone again and it was still showing me the picture that she was sound asleep!! It’s like the frame was frozen on the picture I saw when I minimized it and it never updated at all! This is scary and makes me not trust the video feed I’m seeing when minimizing the picture. I will say I did test it out when in the app normally and it works, but lags by about 2 seconds which I feel is normal for any video feed.

The app is completely unreliable. This app is unreliable and overly dependent on the internet. Updates will remove existing devices from the app around 2-3 am and then youll have to troubleshoot it then or just unplug it. Hosting majority of this app in the cloud and depending on the internet for it to work is lazy and irresponsible. The app should be able to transmit information to your phone through only a Bluetooth connection directly with the owlet without the need for a WiFi network or the internet . Plenty of data can be shared through Bluetooth. The app is overly dependent on WiFi, the internet, and their cloud. If you lost internet connection and wifi connection by a power loss or something else, the app won’t work and you’ll only be dependent on alerts from the base. Or you’ll be frustrated at 3 am when the sock disappears from the app and you’ll have to reconnect it. The sock is a good product but the app is either poorly supported with not enough developers, poor processes, or they just don’t care. QA and testing processes should be able to catch if the app is going to kick out any existing devices. If it’s unpreventable, atleast add a notification to users telling them it’s going to happen and perform the update middle of the day and not midnight.

Yes with caveat. I gave birth in April and have been using owlet since I brought my baby home from the NICU. I hadn’t planned to purchase one, as I felt it would make me dependent on it, but the NICU was completely unexpected and my baby had some lung issues. After about three months I’m thankful for it, but I also have some valid frustrations. (1) The sleep assist has been extremely unhelpful. I know my baby is having trouble sleeping, the alarm blaring it doesn’t help. I’m bouncing my baby; my baby is not wiggling that much. (2) The app is incredibly slow to load. I am in programming, so I understand to some degree how big of a program this is, but I feel like there should definitely be some tweaks to assist this. I shouldn’t have to wait more than 2 minutes for the app to load. And no, I’m not referring to the connection of the sock to the app. I’m referring to the actual app. (3) Almost back to number 1, but more a suggestion: can we please have the ability to select which alarms we want on? Maybe we can make the alarms silent but alert the phones instead of waking the baby I just got to sleep. // Regardless of these small, fixable issues, I am incredibly grateful for this technology. I don’t think I would’ve slept that first week home without it.

The Truth. Used to love this app so much I ignored how glitchy the camera can be. Recently have noticed a lot of changes that I don’t agree with. Company claims to be for the health of your child, but continues to take functions away that are important to keep document of, of course unless you pay them more money. As if the system itself isn’t expensive enough. Used to be able to review footage, and graphs of vitals, now unless you’re paying them more money, can even see past one session. As a momma with an often sick child it’s infuriating. I used to be able to show her doctors what was wrong, now? I’m up all night ensuring I’m seeing where and when her vitals are dipping when sick. The continue to have “bug fixes, and enhancements” but continue to take vital functions away, and can’t even get the camera and sock to stay linked together or to WiFi. I’m constantly fighting with the camera especially to work. The sock not nearly as much, but at least once a week. Needless to say, I’m extremely let down and disappointed. I’d recommend looking for other monitors that stay consistent with “ putting your child’s health first”.

Hardware 10/10, Software 4/10 at best. We have used the owlet dream sock with our child. It worked great to give us peace of mind. However, the only headache we ever dealt with is with the app software. It pretends a wifi network that it had been connected to for 9 months doesn’t exist all of a sudden. It will tell you that you cannot connect to a wifi router because it is not supported, then you turn it off and on again and it connects without issue. Moving the base to another network is a hour long task sometimes. It will tell you WiFi passwords are incorrect for 45 mins straight. Then you try it again, and it works. It’s roundabout way of connecting to networks makes it impossible to use at hotels as well, as you have to enter the network key through the app. The device will randomly disconnect from the network in the night on occasion too. Stressful, but still functioning on a monitoring basis. The data is handy to know how long your baby slept, but you cannot see the data in a useful and easy to read way for long-term patterns. Maybe you can if you purchase their upgraded account thing, but I already spent all this money on the sock, I don’t plan to order a subscription to them as well. All of their forums and FAQs on the official website will tell you that whatever is wrong is your fault, so use Reddit and other user forums to find fixes to your problems. All in all, buy the sock. Use it, but understand that they put absolutely no effort into the application design, function, and accessibility. It will frustrate you and possibly not even work to the degree that you expect/want/need it to. But for peace of mind, it made my wife much less anxious knowing it was on him. 5 star product, 2 star app, 3 star review.

terrible app.. we use the owlet camera to monitor our baby for naps and bedtime. we will wake up in the middle of the night to the camera randomly being off, claiming “no connection” despite the internet being connected with zero interruptions. which means we wake up, scramble to check on our son, just to find him screaming his lungs out for an unknown amount of time. this happens nearly every single night, meaning i wake up at 4am in a panic hoping my son isn’t just being left to cry it out if he did wake up. if our wifi DOES have an interruption, i have to fully go in and reconnect the camera as if it’s like new. not only that, but now the app keeps randomly disappearing from my home screen. i would normally blame my phone for this, but considering all of the other issues with the app and the fact that its ONLY the owlet app that is disappearing, i have to assume it’s just another glitch with the app that will be ignored and never be resolved. $300 for a sock and camera that has more headaches than it gives peace of mind. we are finally switching and i can’t wait to be free of this app. maybe the sock itself is worth it, but given all of the app issues, we never even used the sock. you may have had a good product, but the functionality of the app makes it useless, and given the numerous complaints about the same issues and the fact that nothing has been done to fix it, it’s clearly not just useless to my family but plenty of others, and it’s not worth waiting to see if it is resolved.

Try, try again…. I have 2 cameras for my 2 children under 2. I also have the sock. It seems like every time there is an update, the program gets worse and worse. More bugs that cause you to get kicked out of the app or the camera just stops working and you have to pair the camera again and again. Over the past 2-3 months, I have had to pair the cameras we have had for 2 years countless times. It almost seems like it is a weekly happening now. I have not changed anything on my side (WiFi settings, camera settings, app settings, etc.) I do have to say, it definitely gives you peace of mind (when it works properly). The sock is great and keeps us up to date constantly! When the cameras work as they should, it does very well! Sometimes the movement notifications do not work as intended for the cameras, so we just keep the app up and periodically look to make sure our children are doing okay. If Owlet can figure out the issues with the cameras not staying paired and sometimes not coming up right away when you exit the app for a brief moment and get back into it, I would give it 10 stars, but the bugs NEED to be fixed first before a higher rating would be submitted.

Doesnt work. Iv been using the owlet since november 2024 and never had any issues with it until this last update. The heart rate no longer works. Constantly changes up and down rapidly. Goes from 140 to 70 to 120 to 160 all within a few seconds. Thought it was broken reached out to the company SEVERAL times never got a reply back. Decided to buy a new one thinking the old one was broken. Well the new one doesnt work either same exact problem. Reached out to the company again still no answer. The temperature never reads right anymore either. Constantly says its cold in the room and baby is uncomfortable when thats not the case. I went out and bought an actual thermometer for my room since the one for the owlet no longer works. I also dont get alerts on my phone anymore. My husband still does and the base station still goes off but i cant trust if i go out of the babies room that if his oxygen were to dip too low that it would alert me. All this started when they implemented the monthly subscription. I saw them reply to a few people saying the subscription update shouldnt have messed with the app but that clearly isnt the case since everyone else is having the same issues.

Please update app & fix base station issue. Our baby is 12 weeks old and we’ve been using the Owlet sock and camera since she came home and loved the set up. We had been using the Owlet Care app up until last week when the base station kept saying it was trying to connect to the sock. We would lose her readings multiple times during the night even when we repaired the sock and the station and checked the connection. We thought the app was out of date so we downloaded the Owlet Dream and the issues continue…the app constantly crashes which means we have no readings, camera or sound when that happens in the night. We are still getting error messages saying the base station is trying to connect or is offline (though the camera still works). The Owlet Dream app doesn’t show readings when you take it to full screen and you can’t go back to see the previous nights’ history of awake/light sleep/deep sleep. Owlet’s support team told us THE APP WASN’T MEANT TO BE KEPT ON ALL NIGHT, which is why it is crashing (!!!) For $400 I should be able to keep this app and product running as long as I want to give me peace of mind my child is okay. I might as well just buy a normal baby monitor…

Peace of mind/app issues. We have used this since day 3 of being home from the hospital so almost 8 weeks now. It really helps me sleep a bit more knowing that he is monitored even with being in the same room as us. We have had a few false alarms and in the beginning we would have a lot more sick placement issues and connection issues but now that he is a bit older we only have alarms when we take it off him and don’t put on base quickly or a false oxygen low (only happened twice so far) I would rather a false alarm then nothing. My biggest issue is the app. Recently we have been having were the base is disconnecting from the WiFi almost everyday (the last three or four days) so we can’t view live connection until we reconnect the base manually. We also have exit the app occasionally when we use it as it sometimes won’t load the live readings right away, the most I’ve had to do was exit out twice back to back for it to load. Other than that we have had great peace of mind while using this device. I recommend to everyone I know

Camera Connection Issues. I’ve really enjoyed the sock feature on the owlet and I know it gets some hate from a lot of different places but it worked really well for us. The only issue I have is the camera disconnects or has connection problems all the time. There is so many times I can’t even check on my baby through the app because it won’t connection to the camera. I’m sure most would say it’s a Wi-Fi problem but our Wi-Fi will be working on everything else just not on the app. When it doesn’t want to connect it will usually be out for 3-4 hours before I can even try to use it again. There is also times when it’s on throughout the night and it just randomly disconnects. It’s super frustrating that I can’t rely on it to work all the time. I feel like there is so many other camera options out there that work a lot better. We do have another one for our other child that was a fraction of the price and I have never had one issue with it not working. I don’t think I will use this again for our next baby unless it gets some serious updates.

App closes throughout the night. I used the owlet baby monitor and sock with my first child three years ago. I bought the new updated version for our second child and the experience has been horrible. The app will shut down if a asleep or awake notification from the sock comes through and is not dismissed. Sometimes we will be asleep and get these notifications and the Apple shut down and so we are no longer monitoring our child unknowingly. I feel that this is extremely dangerous since the whole reason why you have a monitor is to alert you for your babies needs. I have tried to troubleshoot this for several months with my baby being five months old now. I have talked to countless technical support members, and none of them have given me an answer, except for “sorry. Really disappointed, and I will let, but our first experience was stellar. That’s a little rough or you think that’s. A review of the app on an apple I feel like I have nowhere else to like air my grievances on star. I have been able to find a workaround by assigning the sock to another child…for some reason if the camera and sock are not associated those prompts will not close the app. Now I just have to toggle between the two “children”, one to view the camera and the other to view the sock stats.

Tremendous resource, terrible app. For starters, it’s not completely fair to rate the product as a 1 star. The sock itself and the tech provided to get such amazing statistics on our babies sleep is incredible. We love that we can check in on the app and see that he’s congested just based off of oxygen levels. HOWEVER, genuinely one of the most infuriating apps me or my wife have ever dealt with. We have the emergency warnings turned on because we’re both deep sleepers. You think it would be a benefit, but it’s never a bonus, always a hindrance. This would apply whether we had emergency alerts on or off, because once it notifies you the sock isn’t getting proper readings, the app all but crashes itself waiting to get accurate readings. But I can pull down the notification and see proper, accurate readings when I’m swiping down on the notification. It still persists. The sock will be on, our baby will be asleep, we’ll be in the process of trying to get some sleep ourselves, but one thing remains… THE BEEPING OF 1000 SMOKE DETECTORS. It’s genuinely disappointing because it’s such a nice resource for peace of mind, but the app itself is bad enough we’ve discussed swapping to the cheaper eufy we purchased before receiving the owlet as a gift. Owlet, I beg of you, just fix the app, the sock itself is awesome.

O2 sensor works, alerts and app are annoying and can’t be customized. The o2 measure seems to be accurate and has helped a lot. However, the app and alerts have zero room to customize which is really frustrating. One of the alerts that tells you your baby is moving too much and too check on it always goes off when I am rocking my baby to sleep causing them to wake up. But there is no way to turn this alert off or change the sensitivity. Then the other alert about sick fitting also always goes off when I grab the sock and want to put it on after changing the baby, but then it freaks out saying the sock is not fit correctly,. So, not I have to quickly rush to put the sock on before changing my babies diaper so the alarm doesn’t go off. Finally, I have not found a place to allow me to invite my partner to also use the app, which is frustrating. All that aside, the reading we actually have it has been great as it does seem to do a good job tracking o2 levels. I wish you could see the wave form to know when it is picking up a trustworthy signal, but besides that, it seems to be accurate and match the levels we were getting in the hospital before getting discharged so they seem right. So, all in all, a good product with some really annoying bugs.

Does not stay connected. OWLET DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN..ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY… go to sleep thinking your baby is being monitored only to wake up and find out he isn’t. Customer service is hopeless and helpless. Don’t waste your money on the device and do not waste your money on the subscription three months in and you’ll have a $300 paperweight with no help from the company that should be backing their product. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Update: still does not work correctly after 3.13 update Update 2: in order to get a base that is completely functional I have to send back the system I have now, wait for it to go through their system that it is returned and then wait for them to then send me a new one. How money hungry is this company that they are so worried about getting the semi dysfunction one back before sending a new one? Even offered them to take down my credit card so that they have collateral… no response… an infant monitoring company doesn’t understand that I would rather partial monitoring rather than no monitoring at all until the new one arrives. I have absolutely no problem sending the faulty one back but would like to switch it same day so I don’t worry about baby all night for nights on end… THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!

New Parents - READ & BEWARE. As brand new parents, infant wellbeing is paramount and the terror of leaving your new baby alone in a crib for hours at a time will drive you to want an Owlette device for some peace of mind. By reading all of the other comments and reviews in this App Store, hopefully it become clear that although the device itself is awesome, it becomes entirely useless and counter-productive when you actually attempt to use it. The device is worthless without the app, and the app clearly is unsupported by the Owlette company. It has outdated connectivity technology (only works on 2.4ghz networks, while 5ghz have become the standard back in 2015). It also loses connection to the Owlette device regularly. Within a 10 minute period of trying this for the first time, we received 5 separate notifications of lost connection, misplaced position, and loss of app communication. The base was less than 24” away from the baby, and still could not keep up. It would be possible to work with, except the device blares an alarm that can only be silenced locally, and is counterintuitive to the device being made to monitor sleep, but alarms wake the baby up every time. This product appears to be a sales scam where once a sale is made, there is no need to support the device further by updating the app. They make no additional income after the device is purchased. If the app worked at all, then this review would be much better. But new parent be ware, you will have better sleep and peace of mind by staying near the infant and monitoring sleep manually.

Sock is great but app and monitor are SLOW and glitchy!!. I’ll start by saying the owlet sock truly gave me some invaluable peace of mind(and extra sleep) in the first few months with my baby. The live readings are great, though I will agree with some other reviewers that there were quite a few false “yellow” alarms when all I was doing was burping her in the middle of the night. Better safe than sorry though, and it didn’t really bother me. That said… I set the Cam2 monitor up once we transitioned our daughter into her own room at 4 months, and I am so disappointed with it. There’s a long delay from the camera to the phone(when it works), and about 1/3rd of the time when I open the app, it either says camera is offline or that I don’t have a camera on my account at all. I’ve paired it with my account 4 or 5 separate times and it still glitches. It’s frustrating to wake in the middle of the night and check on my baby only for the app to 1. Take far too long to load, and 2. Tell me my camera is offline when my wifi is running fine. If I had to purchase again, I would just get the sock and not the sock/camera duo. Disappointing for the price.

Don’t waste your money. I’ve been using the sock for 3 months now. It worked great when baby was in the bassinet right beside the base station and my phone, but since moving to her room, the sock is almost useless. I’m on my third sensor and still can’t get it to stop going off in the night for “connection issues” when baby is in the room next door. The sensor will work great for 3-4 hours then suddenly “can’t connect to the sock” and by the time I check on the baby the notification is gone. Repeat this every 2 hours the rest of the night for no reason. The camera is at least 30 seconds behind so I hear her before the monitor goes off and half the time the screen won’t even show her. I have to constantly refresh the app to see her. I have a portable baby monitor that works much better for a fraction of the cost. Now the app decided to delete my sock altogether, so I don’t have any features except the terrible camera. For as much money as this product costs and as difficult as it was to set up, it’s not worth it. Customer service won’t even answer their emails and their phones shut off after 6 pm for a night time product. Ridiculous.

App needs improvement. I only use the Owlet Dream Sock and although I am pleased with the sock itself and it’s designed purpose of helping keep my mind at ease while my baby sleeps, I am not impressed with the app itself. It takes several “refreshes” and even closing and re-opening the app in order to see the current sleep state. I wish the app would provide some sort of chart that shows awake, light and deep sleep patterns. My Apple Watch tells me more about my sleep patterns than the Owlet does for my baby. Lastly there should be some sort of turn off or check-in button when it’s having “difficulty getting readings”. There will be times where I’m holding my baby, I know he’s fine and even though I dismiss the notification the base will still continue to sound and it’s frustrating. Also I had to move the base to his actual changing table because otherwise when I take it off the base as I’m getting him ready for bed the sock will start alarming if I don’t put it on asap. I’ll snooze the base and it will literally go off in what feels like another minute. There could maybe be some sort of, ready to start tracking sleep button. Overall, the sock does it’s job of keeping track of my baby’s heart rate, oxygen level and sleep status but doesn’t do much more than that. You’d think for $300 the app would be better.

Needs serious stability fixes. We’ve been using this app, the sock, and the camera for almost 18months now and I’ve been patiently waiting for there to be a stability fix on the camera connection but it has never happened. This is a major concern for us because this is how we monitor our child’s safety at night. The camera feed drops after about 5minutes. Then just spins trying to reconnect. It’s trash. You have to force quick the entire app to get it to reload and sometimes it just doesn’t. You have to force quit again and try to make it work again. I’m actively trying to check on my child and the instantaneous response to that request is paramount to the viability of this entire platform being used as a tool to monitor the safety of a child. That this continues to be an issue is a black eye for the entire programming and development team at Owlet. I haven’t recommended this to any of our friends who have had children because I honestly think that this problem makes it a waste of money and a safety risk. The only reason I continue to use it is because it was so expensive in the first place and buying an entire replacement system to take its place isn’t financially suitable and I’ve been holding out for a fix to the instability. I’m writing this now because I was once again fighting to get the connection to work and I’m fed up with the anxiety of the delay and the resetting and waiting to confirm my child is ok. You need to spend a lot less time touting how good your FDA approval is for your sock and spend all of that money and effort delivering a better UI. I warn all potential buyers, you ALSO need to get a normal run of the mill baby monitor because this will not fill that void.

RSV. Wanted to start off by saying I know the Owlet is not a “medical device” or recommended for “diagnosis” BUT my daughter had RSV at about 7/8 months old and seemed to be doing just fine, until she wasn’t. It happened so quickly and this sock was one of the main reasons I brought my LO to the ER and was admitted twice! It gives parents a little piece of mind, and a base to go off of. You kind of learn what your child’s numbers typically are, and when they’re off.. you check on them, and if they’re fine check the fit of the sock bc if it isn’t on correctly or tight enough it will be off a little from your typical readings. The app does have a lot of crashes and bugs, and the biggest thing I think the app needs is customizable notification settings, if levels get to a certain limit of my choosing I want it to notify me so I can check on my child. I’d so much rather get a low false reading and get notified than to not get any notification at all. I do always recommend this to my friends and family but I hope they continue to make improvements in the app and customization settings.

Zero stars. Rarely works.. I bought this thinking it would give me peace of mind but all it’s done is make me worry constantly because I never know if it is working or not. The app never loads, and if it does it is several hours behind and won’t update, even after closing the app a ridiculous amount of times as well as resetting the base several times or it just tells me to put the stock on to start a session when it’s already been on at least an hour. When it does work it takes a very long time to connect to the base and show readings, yet I haven’t had a single time that it automatically shows current readings without having to close the app a few times. I’ve had to unplug the base and reset it in the middle of the night on way too many occasions. There are always missing sections of the night where there are no readings. It goes off very loud when feeding my baby even though it is placed correctly and no way to adjust the volume. I’m so glad I bought a different baby monitor camera that actually works that I can check on my baby with as this is so unreliable and stress inducing. You’d think after paying so much for this that it would actually work. 7 months later and it just seems to be getting worse by the day. Would not recommend.

App needs work…. The product is great the camera works pretty well, but the temperature sensor always seems to read uncomfortable. The app definitely needs some help though the seemed to have fixed a few things like returned the history function and got rid of the routine thankfully because the routines was crap. Few other issues is that they need to have some kind of timer on notifications so they don’t just appear and the stay on screen indefinitely until you dismiss them, such as the “sleeping peacefully” notification. When I have the app on when I’m showering and she’s sleeping sometimes it goes on and the doesn’t go away until I have to manually dismiss it. App developers if you’re listening, make that one dismiss itself after some time passes so that it goes back to the live video feed. I get it for warnings but not that one. Also, the warning about connection issues always goes on at the worst moments like right at the moment she’s dozing off which is annoying because it just keeps playing the music and the it sometimes wakes her or it’s just really annoying and far away from where I am to silence it. But overall ok once they brought back history and tossed the routines.

Good, when it works.. Update: Changing my review to a 1 star, as I contacted support about my issue and they recommended I buy the extension sock…. which is no longer available for purchase! How in the world is that a helpful solution?! Support has ZERO idea how to troubleshoot anything. So so so frustrated. For the amount of money we spend, support, app and product should be 100x better. I love this product when it works. The app is constantly updating and drives me insane with all the new tutorials we are required to go through. And now this silly prompt of basically “your child is too old to use”. He will wear this to college if possible. My child was born with respiratory issues, and recently diagnosed with asthma triggered by illness, so I rely on this product to watch his oxygen and provide medicine when necessary. When my parents watch my son and takes the owlet to their house, they have so many issues getting it to register to the app and vice versa. Next, sometimes when I open the app it will say “add device” even though it would be connected. I have to close the app and reopen it for it to work. Finally, just recently, it keeps giving me “sock placement” errors despite putting it on the same way for months and it worked perfectly. I’ve factory reset my owlet, reconnected the device, reset WiFi, cleaned the sock, switched feet and it will. not. work. As stated, this product is great when it works and you spend hours trying to get it connected and working.

App need work. The app is the worst. The price is not worth it, I wish I had done my research before purchasing it. I will say the sock is a great idea giving your baby's heart rate and oxygen level, however, it causes more anxiety when not working and how poorly supported it is by the app. The way it works in regards to the charging station, the location of where it needs to be, and troubleshooting any connection issue is the most annoying and inconvenient. The sock needs to be in the charging station when not in use or else you set off the alerts, and that is also where the alerts noise comes in as well as the app, so you can't have it near a sleeping baby and there is no off button on it (there is snooze) or else levels are not monitored and the app reflects as base station off, in other words not reading levels. We have it outside of the nursery and have to run back and forth when putting it on baby. Just another step in our bed/nap time routine at this point. I continue to use it because when it works it's awesome and I love to see how his hr/O2 fluctuates between sleep cycles, just frustrated with the poor connectivity to the app and the troubleshooting anxiety that one has to go through to get back online/refreshing app especially at 3 am when you are already sleep deprived.

Would give 0 stars. For something so extremely expensive I fail to see why this app is complete garbage. 1. The base will go off during the night due to “sock placement issue” mind you my baby could be completely still for over half an hour and it will randomly go off and say there is an issue only for it to act perfectly fine after closing out the app a million times. 2. When you first open the app and it says “___ is awake” it glitches all the time and instead of that it says “wokeUp” spelt just like that. Not to mention in the same place where it tells you their sleep status the text is almost always cut off. Right now it’s telling me my baby’s next predicted sleep and the bottom text is cut off there is no way to scroll to see the whole thing. Example: “baby’s sleep window started _________” and then you see text at the bottom that is cut off. 3. Looking in the history section and clicking on any of the sleep sessions is a nightmare. The times don’t match when you are sliding the little dial to see if your baby was awake/asleep during the night. It also is a very inconvenient way to check the sessions because the graphs are so inaccurate. 4. Checking on the app throughout the night is irritating because even if I have already closed out of the app and open it back up I have to close the app a million more times in order for me to even get a live reading or check sleep status. If I could sue for this being a trash product I would. Save your money and buy something cheaper. Owlet is not it.

Not sure how to feel. I have the sock and camera, both linked to the same child, the camera is about 3 seconds delayed, but other than that, love it, i have no complaints, but as for the sock, sock is on correctly, wifi is always on and in working order, but it continues to say “base station disconnected from wifi” so i go and “change wifi” as that’s the only option, follow the steps to try and troubleshoot, it then tells me something went wrong and to check permissions, and the app’s settings permissions are enabled for local networks in the settings app, which is always is on. After all that, it still says, it’s disconnected. So i have to just stay awake and wait it out, sometimes an hour and check it again to make sure it’s connected. I do nothing and it just randomly changes to connected, same with switching to disconnected, it could be on one second, i check it 2 minutes later, it’s off again. This needs to be fixed, my daughter is 2 weeks old and it’s the only thing keeping my anxiety from going insane. I need to know the sock is still reading when this issue occurs, as it says “put on dream sock to receive readings” on top, i do nothing, change nothing, 45 minutes goes by, and somehow it magically is reading now and is connected. I understand this is a common issue for many users via the reviews, thankfully this was a gift and bought on sale, as i would be furious if i spent this amount of money for this to keep happening. This happens several times a night, when it’s on and working, i feel amazing about going to bed and knowing she’s okay, but when i wake up for feedings and it says disconnected, it’s heart wrenching, thinking the worst will happen as soon as i close my eyes, and it won’t notify me. Please fix this issue, it has nothing to do with my wifi as it’s a common occurrence for many users. And don’t just reply “thanks for my feedback, we’ll notify..blah blah blah” and then months go by, clearly nothing is being fixed.

new app update. my son is almost two and we’ve always loved the sock, the camera and the app. it’s brought us so much peace of mind to be able to check on him when he’s sleeping in his room. about 8 months in the camera stopped taking the room temp and humidity, we don’t have central air and heating so it was really important to us that we knew the temp. i emailed and they said a replacement cord for the camera was out of stock, it’s been a year and a half and i’ve still never seen it on the website. we had to buy a bluetooth thermometer so we could check the temp in his room. other than that we’ve always loved it until this new update, i keep the app open on my phone all night so i can look at him if i wake up at night and now my phone constantly shuts off because the camera freezes and doesn’t stay open. i constantly have to close the app out and restart it because the app either freezes or the camera doesn’t open at all (several attempts) my son is almost two so we don’t use the sock we only use the camera. it used to tell us when his nap time would be and since the new update it doesn’t anymore. i had to remove the sock from the app to be able to see his next nap time again. if someone is using the sock still now they won’t be able to see when their child’s next nap time would be and i think that’s a major thing i use the app for. so in my opinion if the app is fixed i would love it again but as of right now i am super disappointed. my friend has a 4 month old and uses the camera and app, she’s having all the same issues since the new update as well.

1 star for the app, 4 for camera quality. I cannot tell you how frustrating it has been to operate this app. When video clips are saved, it’s only 30 second clips and I can’t hear the audio in the video until I choose to download it onto my phone. Multiple times a day, when opening the app to check on my son, the loading spiral just keeps going and going and going without ever getting me to the live footage. I have to close the app and reopen it, sometimes multiple times, in order to access the live footage. I know that it’s not my WiFi because every other app on both of our phones works just fine, we never get lags or glitches on our TV which uses WiFi exclusively to stream, laptops and iPads work fine… For the amount of money that the Owlet dream duo costs, I would expect the app that actually TELLS me the information acquired by the nifty, expensive equipment to freaking work. I sincerely regret that our friends spent their hard earned money on this system for us, having read good things about it, despite none of them having kids. I write this review so that someone else might see the everyday frustration that using this app incurs. Especially if you’re overly tired and sleep deprived, the LAST thing you want is to hate trying to use your baby monitor.

Good idea, terrible execution. As the title says, the idea is a great one, but this company really benefits from a lack of competition and being the proverbial “first mover” in the space. The reality is this just another company selling cheap, foreign-made plastic-ware at premium prices to American consumers. The base station is impossible to deal with and just randomly disconnects from WiFi. The process to reconnect it is an entire ordeal, to which I’ve resigned myself to just press the “Connect” button over and over and over until the thing finally connects to my home WiFi. There is no rhyme or reason to this at all. The mobile app has a mind of its own and is full of bugs and poorly thought-out features. One of the recent ones is that the base station will turn itself back on even after you’ve turned it off for the day. This leads to the infuriating experience of the base station going off at 1pm because the anklet is laying on the counter somewhere and the base station thinks it needs to alert you to the situation. Another poorly thought-out piece of technology wherein the machine thinks it knows bette than you do about what’s going on based on dumb logic and if/then statements. At its best, this is an oxygen monitor for your infant, and I admit this is very helpful and brings a certain peace of mind when it works. At its worst, it is a foreign-made piece of junk with seemingly no quality control or user-minded product development.

The app is horrible and getting worse. The hardware is ok but the app is absolute garbage. There are almost no settings option for the camera or the dream sock. The app is laggy and glitchy. It used to play a tune but now it just has a wretched beep which I understand the point is to have it be something you're going to hear if there is a problem, but it beeps for EVERYTHING. there is no way to disable the extra unnecessary beeping it does for literally everything you do. Keep in mind, your phone, the base station and ANY other phone (ie your spouse or other house hold members) connected will all go off even when just doing basic things, like starting a session or disabling the auto reconnect features, which is so annoying when you have a sleeping child. If you enable or disable the monitoring on the app is beeps which is annoying when you're trying to GET YOUR BABY TO SLEEP. if you enable or disable the automatic function so it doesn't reconnect all on its own, IT BEEPS. If the amount of time passes that would be required for the auto reconnect regular flees if you have it enabled or not, IT BEEPS. there are no options to fix this which I absolute despite this company for. We will be looking for an alternative option and I recommend you do not buy this product.

Uncomfortably Unreliable. I write this at 3am due to my disappointment in this app. Anyone who has a baby wants this app to function properly. I have the camera, no sock (glad I didn’t waste that money), simply because it was supposed to be the better video monitor with background feed. However, even while I was pregnant my friends had issue with how unreliable the app could be for them and their baby. I am often alone at night due to my husband’s work schedule, so I need to be able to run the app in the background of my phone while sleeping so that I can hear if my baby wakes up and needs me. Tonight is the second night in a row that I’ve woken up to find that the app has crashed and will not reload unless I force restart my phone, and then “Try Again” 5x to reconnect to my camera. Not only that, but when the app fails it tends to stop my notifications all together from making any alerts at all. My alarms do not ring, phone calls do not come through. So if I’m in a good sleep, I notice nothing unless I naturally wake up on my own. I can’t simply leave my app off overnight in hopes the notification alert will wake me, it won’t. The sound of my baby crying would, though, which is the whole point of having this camera and app. So that I can be stirred awake by the sound of my baby, look at her video feed to determine if she’s able to self soothe, and be able to receive phone calls or texts from my husband in case my app fails. I can’t consistently say I get that, and it really concerns and upsets me.

No Excuse. So with the last update the app removed the ability to see vitals while in full screen. This is essentially the only way to both see your babies vitals and your baby at the same time. Its basically the entire reason the product exists and someone accidentally killed that part of the app during an update. Look. I’m a software engineering manager. The fact that the mistake happened, is understandable. Someone screwed up, touched something without realizing it would break something else, and QA missed it. Not a good story but it happens. HOWEVER, apparently telling customers that it will take 2-3 weeks to get it fixed is ABSOLUTELY absurd. Either the leadership in charge are absolutely terrible, or the engineers working on this are absolutely the bottom of the barrel. There is no excuse for it. Engineers in basically any industry would have to have a hot fix out in hours. Not days, not weeks. There is no excuse for that kind of a timeline. This is a premium product that is delivering a below budget level experience.

Should Be Better. I’m embarrassed for recommending this product to so many friends. for as expensive the camera and sock are, this app should be way better. When our son was born, back in July ‘22, this app was great. Had 0 complaints. Worked flawlessly. But ever since August/September, there have been countless bugs. -Have to close out of the app completely for the camera to load. Just spins and spins when trying to go back into the app without fully closing it. -A full night of sleep history is never viewable, it gets chopped up into naps/sleep/nap and cuts off before the sock is removed in the morning, by hours! Ie, bed time is 830-8am if he wakes at 1 to eat, it’s chopped off and doesn’t resume for an hour or so, if he wakes at 5, it cuts off and doesn’t finish out the night when the sock is removed in the morning. -Not sure what’s going on with the temp sensor on the camera but it is a steady 10-15° less than the actual room temp. -Have to restart the camera at least twice a week from it stating it’s ‘offline’ when trying to view. All that being said, we’ve had a great peace of mind using the sock at night and the camera (when it works) is a great convenience. Especially sound and motion alerts.

How is the app still SO bad.. Literally app has never been good or reliable. I spend so much time fiddling with this thing it’s ridiculous. We used owlet for our son as a baby. I stopped using the camera altogether because it was so glitchy (app related) and poorly designed anyway. Just spent $70 to get a toddler sock extender (literally a piece of fabric, they should be ashamed for charging that price). Anyway, update and refresh my app to use it when my toddler is sick and surprised to find out that the app is just as bad as it was years ago. How do they get away with this? Not to mention, parents are troubleshooting constantly, during the limited hours they have to get rest. I wish there was a more reliable competitor is this space. When there is, I’ll switch. No brand loyalty from my end for owlet with how unreliable their products are and how obvious it is as a consumer they do not care to prioritize customer concerns, even when repeated across an extended timeline from a significant amount of the users. I don’t think I’ve ever written an app review before, but this has to be said, and I hope someone listens who can make a difference. Also would love to know what “bugs” are continuously being fixed considering the product has never worked reliable or even remotely well when “functioning.” 😂😂

Customer Service Absent. We had an issue connecting our dream sock to our wifi at home (for some reason it disconnected after we had been using for 2 months without issues), so I started a chat with their AI support which was not able to fix the problem so they transferred me to a real person. Vincent was initially pleasant and seemingly very eager to help - about 5 minutes later after he transferred me to an email chain and out of the chat, and long story short he eventually just ghosted me. I was not disrespectful and felt like I was being very cooperative following every instruction he was sending me but the issue was not being fixed and seemed to be getting worse as my dream sock then disconnected from the app entirely. I simply stated, word for word "this seems like i am only going backwards and is getting quite frustrating" - no cussing, no attacking, just calmly expressing my frustration as this was 11pm and I had been working on this now for over an hour between AI and Vincent. Vincent did not respond after that, I asked for a follow up to see what else I can try and the next day I still had no response. I am incredibly disappointed with their customer service - I would understand if I was being rude to him why he would ghost me like that, but given that wasn't the case it really got my gears grinding that for a product designed around baby safety that the support is so incredibly lacking . 0 stars for Vincent himself if I were able to do so. Shame on you Vincent and Owlet customer service for allowing such neglect.

Rage Inducing. This product and app is absolutely terrible for the absurd price they sell it for. Yes, it’s fine when it works, but even then the price is not justifiable. My Apple Watch has 100 more features at essentially the same price of an Owlet Dream sock. If you want to be woken up numerous times throughout the night for no reason then absolutely buy this product. The base and app are constantly beeping at the loudest volume telling you there is a sock placement issue. The sock is fitted exactly as instructed! My baby is sound asleep not moving. The Owlet provides BPM and oxygen readings one minute and the next starts going off and will continue to do so unless you turn off the base. I’ve adjusted the sock multiple times throughout the night and tried both feet with no success. The last thing you want to do is chance of waking your baby to adjust the placement of the sock! The app is sluggish, lags and lacks features. Not a fan of how it displays the history and for some reason breaks it up in chunks. The very last thing you want after spending sometimes hours putting your baby to sleep, and finally dozing off yourself to get hopefully a couple hours of sleep, is this thing blasting the loudest beeping of false notifications. I am extremely disappointed and frankly want to smash this product into pieces.

Worth it for peace of mind. The peace of mind that this monitor and app gives me is amazing. That being said, please please please give us an option to silence the yellow notifications permanently. I don’t want to just turn the base station off, I’m already awake at that point. I just want to permanently mute the alarm for connection issues because a few nights a week it goes off multiple times a night and wakes us up. We’ve tried different sock sizes and tightening the sock on her foot. Nothing seems to completely fix the problem. She wiggles a lot in her sleep and ultimately jostles the monitor enough to make it difficult for it to get a reading. It typically fixes itself after a few minutes once she shifts again so it continues to monitor her, hence why we’d like to not just turn off the base station altogether. We want her to be monitored. We just want to permanently mute the yellow alarm. Frankly, it’s way too easy for baby to kick the alarm and cause a connection problem. I wake up enough at night to tend to baby. I don’t need the notification waking me up too. Other than that though, I love this app and monitor.

Horrible dishonest company. BUYER BEWARE! At any point, this company may decide to *just disable* the device you paid $400 for, and cite “this is just what happens with electronics, they get phased out”. Intentionally disabling something and issuing newer products is not the same. I have a sock 2 that does not work with the app anymore, it’s worthless. I can’t use it. I can’t sell it. It worked perfectly fine before they disabled it. I have no idea how it’s legal for a company to intentionally disable something you paid for, and then keep your money. That’s exactly what happened with the Sock 2. No refunds. Nothing except “Oh we’ll give you a $100 discount so you can buy a new one.” Im sorry, you want me to spend $200 more just for this to get *phased out* one day too? I’ll pass man. This is so dishonest. What a way to do business. These guys are absolute scum. Edit to respond to their response: if you were sorry, you’d make this right. And by that, I mean either offer a replacement or refund. This wasn’t a small investment and you just cancelled it, and kept my money. To everyone else- keep your money. This could easily happen again. Support another company who is honest.

Dangerous. The heart rate alert is set too high (220). My daughter is in the hospital now, but the sock failed to alert us because her heart only got up to 210ish. They should consider an additional user defined alert that can be set lower

New update messed up alerts and reading. The new update makes health live readings and notifications unavailable for Canadian users. This is unacceptable as these features were confirmed by Owlet prior to buying the device and it was working perfectly on previous versions. Please fix asap. Terrible update for anxious parents.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I purchased the dream sock in Canada and have not been able to even get the device connected to the app. Support is beyond useless as they know the products are junk and are unable to actually get these to work. All they will tell you is to update your phone update the app, make sure your wifi is in 2.4ghz. The device is absolutely useless and I have gotten 0 days use out of it. And of course good luck returning it to a store as it’s not their fault it doesn’t work. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Busted. Stopped working for no reason. Reinstall doesn’t fix it. Very disappointing from a very expensive product. Beware.

Decent, but wish there was an iPad version. I like the app, it tracks a lot during my son’s sleep sessions, but I really wish there was also an iPad version of the app. Using the iPhone version on my iPad works, but I’m unable to read some of his tracking or see the meter at the top properly.

App. I love the sock but the APP is SO slow . Like just the last week it’s been awful . It like freezes constantly and I try to scroll or click and nothing works . Takes minutes to load anything

The app sucks. To start off i love the dream sock and the camera but the app makes me want to pull my hair out most nights. Every time you turn the phone off or leave the owlet app you have to completely close the app and restart it. It’s never worked properly. It might be the worst app I have ever experienced. Everyday it’s something new. Developers need to fix it, we pay good money for the devices and we’re repaid by an app that seems like it was designed by a 4 year old.

Horrible app for the price. The hardware is good but the app is very very bad. So many problems. We regularly lose data for a sleep session where the app bugs and so we can’t track it. You have to force close the app to have it refresh. You can’t test the socks alarms to know what they sound like or that they are remotely working. There’s no tracking of oxygenation retroactively to know what’s normal for your baby. It only tracks in the moment. It says he’s awake when he’s in active sleep and doesn’t learn or have any way to teach it. But mostly it’s the bugs that are killing us.

Garbage - DO NOT BUY. Owlet products are absolute garbage. I have constant connection problems with my camera, the temp and humidity readings are complete nonsense (per my hygrometer), and the app does not work properly for iPad, which is a joke in 2026. DO NOT BUY OWLET

Insufficient. The sock is really hard to get connected, and when it works, it disconnects and wakes the whole house. Owlet does not know how to use wireless technology.

Constantly exiting and reopening the app to refresh. This app is horribly done. Regardless I use it every day but it’s frustrating. It never refreshes on its own, you need to exit the app and open again. Now, once the sock is off and you want to see when your child woke up, it doesn’t show. It just drops. You can reopen your app like 10x and it still won’t refresh until an hour later. Seems it’s very late at updating data.

Used to love this app. Newest update is so buggy it barely works, we no longer get the recommended sleep time/wake window tracking, the pop out windows freeze on ALL devices. If I could rate this less than 1 I would. So disappointing when this product costs so much $. Again this doesn’t work on Apple anymore. Way too buggy. Very upset with purchase

Becoming less helpful for peace of mind.. While I realize they might be restricted a bit due to the unit itself not being a medical device, they recently changed the blood oxygen level from constant updating to an average O2 every 10 MINUTES, makes it pretty useless for general monitoring. Can’t say I recommend anyone purchase the unit for the price anymore, nobody is buying this only for an infants sleep quality, it was appealing due to its monitoring capabilities which they keep throttling.

Latest update prevents health notifications. Latest update to 3.25 has prevented health notifications getting being enabled. After following the steps to turn it on, it stays disabled with no errors. Please address asap!

Great Peace of Mind but Slow App. While the sock provides great peace of mind, we find the camera and the app to be incredibly slow to load, the camera in particular often lagging.

Love Love Love!. I use Owlet with every nap and bedtime! I love it would absolutely buy it again if I had to.

Great baby cam. Highly recommended!!! Great device with great camera and great features ! Cry detection is really accurate!

Not worth it. Should be a $50 system. This camera and app are truly abysmal. I regret purchasing this. Super laggy, delayed picture and sound, cuts out constantly or the screen goes black. Pretty useless if you can’t see your baby. Can’t go from daytime mode to night vision without completely closing out the app and restarting it. It’s advertised as 1080p HD but that’s not its automatic setting. Which is 480p, then if you set it to the HD mode the camera is even more laggy and cuts out more frequently. Multiple users can view the app at the same time but when it decides to cut out, everyone watching has to completely close out. I hope someone reads this before they purchase. A Vtech $20 Amazon monitor will get you much further than this thing.

Disappointing update. We used the old sock for my oldest daughter and it was amazing. It alerted us that her oxygen was low and she was taken to the hospital. We have the new sock for our younger daughter now and have been using it with no issues for months. Tonight I went on the app only to find that the base station isn’t connected to the wifi, the wifi light is on on the base, and so on the website it says to delete the app and redownload. I do this only to find that it’s a new app, and it doesn’t even monitor oxygen and heart rate anymore, and it’s asking me to convert to the dream sock to no longer receive real time alerts of low oxygen or high or low heart rate. I won’t be making the conversion because the alerts are the whole reason we have this sock, but now I won’t be able to see any readings or even how her sleep was. Awful update, and no more peace of mind. I would not recommend this to anyone.

App pas bien faite. La chaussette se déconnecte souvent malgré qu’elle soit proche. Parfois l’app met du temps à afficher les données.

Camera not connecting. For several days our camera has been disconnected. Unable to reconnect to the wifi. Very frustrating. Even had a friend who does tech support try to help and it still will not connect.

Great product, slow app. Love the sock and the info it provides, however the app is SO slow. When you open it, it takes a minute to load your info/stats and then sometimes disconnects and takes so long to reconnect.

Alarm sounds changed. We’ve used it for both our children for the past few years. It went from having a lullaby as an alarm for when things like poor connection happened, to having a blaring beeping. There was no warning that the change in sounds was going to happen. Our daughter happened to be going through health issues at the time and it gave us a heart attack. We hate the new sounds and are looking at better options

App Doesn’t Work with Latest iOS Update. Please fix

Can’t pair. For a device with this price tag, you expect it to pair with ease.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Honestly, it was great before they updated it. However, with the new update it has given nothing but issues. My alerts are going off constantly when all of my son’s readings are in range. When I talked to customer service they wanted me to WAKE UP MY SLEEPING CHILD. Customer service was absolutely no help. Everyone who was purchased one should get their money back

This dev team is the worst. Terrible responsiveness. The camera does not load on my iPad and the app is is not made for iPad screens. For a cam that cost me $400 this is well below expectations. Every time there is an iOS update there is a new issue.

Useless in Canada. The only job it is supposed to do and the only reason we all buy this sock is because we wants the readings and health notifications , but in Canada you can’t have it ,that make the sock completely useless , unless you wanna spend $500 to know when your baby is sleeping or not, knowing it is not even accurate

No issues resolved.. The base station frequently disconnects from Wi-Fi, and reconnecting is often very challenging. It’s concerning to me, especially when my baby is sleeping and I can’t rely on the monitor.

Amazing family savior. Could not reccomend the owlet more. It gives my family the best peace of mind during the tougher times! I’d rate it 6 stars if I could, I’ll be sure to gift it to all of my family and friends that have growing families

New update is absolute trash. We bought this sock and camera as our baby was a preemie and it used help us out so much being able to monitor his vitals. I was resistant to updating the app as I saw all the negative reviews. My wife did the update and immediately had connectivity issues. We solely were relying on my non-updated app for the camera (we don’t need the sock anymore as our boy is strong and healthy🥳). Now the app has forced me to update with a screen you are unable to bypass to get to the camera. Neither my wife or I has been able to view the camera since the update. Camera has been reset, app deleted and re-installed, WiFi reconnected multiple times. This product no longer does any of the things it claims. Moreover, you are now forced to accept a health information processing waiver that gives up your child’s privacy just to access a camera that doesn’t work and doesn’t allow us access to the health data which we had to sign away privacy for. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PRODUCT. The Dev team has made this thing useless and borderline fraudulent as it does nothing it advertises while sacrificing your child’s privacy and ultimately their safety in the mean time.

Constantly have to close and reopen app. Every single time I open the app, the video just shows the loading circle/throbber until I close and reopen the app. I just want to see my baby and shouldn't have to waste time every time when I've bought a premium product. Had I known how garbage this app would be, I would've gone with the nanit.

Issue with Version 3.30.0 full screen display. I’ve relied on the Owlet camera and Dream Sock for over 2 years. I’ve found both devices and app updates to be reliable and consistent. However, this latest update does not appear to have been tested well. I reported a bug in version 3.30.0 that seriously degrades the value of the app and it has not been repaired yet. In fullscreen screen display using both the Owlet camera and Dream Sock the heart rate and O2 saturation information appear in intermittently and flash at the top of the screen. Sometimes you can’t even read it. Oddly enough when you exit full screen and scroll the information is there and does not flash. This is a serious issue that has been acknowledged by Owlet. These devices are expensive and I rely on them for safety. Why hasn’t this issue been fixed yet?

Deceitful app. In Canada, you can’t turn the health notifications on which means no monitoring so what is the point of this very expensive sock? Deceitful app and product! Returning. Do not waste your money.

Waste of money.. Thankfully I didn’t pay for this as it was gifted to us, because it’s garbage. Constantly losing connection to the base in a small 1000sqft home is a joke. And the terribly annoying sound the base makes is salt in the wound. I feel sorry for anyone who paid full price for this.

Camera keeps spinning. Ongoing issue, worse in past few months. Camera won’t connect, or keeps showing spinning circle in app. Please fix this bug!

Used to work good. This app needs serious bug fixes. We’ve used the owlet for 6 months now, and for the most part it has been very helpful. Over the last week, it’s been awful. It’s going off in the middle of the night (purple) for no reason (baby is sound asleep). EVERY night. Multiple times per night. To the point where we just turn off the home base. The app doesn’t even recognize that the sock is on anymore. It shows no data at all whenever we check the app. The recent update doesn’t help. Please fix this as it literally defeats the purpose of having it!!!! The owlet sock is much too expensive to have this happen. -A tired parent

Latest update doesn’t work. Health notifications no longer work, app doesn’t open after the latest update, camera wasn’t loading. Such a waste of money, 550$ to be exact, for an app that doesn’t work. Costumer supports doesn’t like to respond as well whether it’s an email or phone call.

Camera feed doesn’t work. Don’t bother with this product, their app doesn’t work. The video just spins the loading bar so you can’t see your child.

Slow. The owlet sock with the app was amazing but the camera is not. If you switch over to a different app and come back to the owlet app the camera won’t load and you need to restart the app. It’s extremely annoying and unsafe when you need to be able to check your child quickly.

Do not recommend. Used to be better. App is very slow. Camera disconnects from wifi constantly and takes a long time to reconnect. No longer able to get real time alerts or customize when to get alerts. Very expensive product when it doesn’t really work well anymore.

Trash App. What have they actually done to this app. It never works. It constantly goes offline and it’s so frustrating when you can hear your baby cry across the house and see nothing.

Health Notifications. Health notifications will not turn on for two days now. I have tried everything to turn them back on after it turned off by itself and it won’t work. This glitch in the app isn’t being fixed fast enough!

iPad support. Wish there was support for iPad.

Will use it, but not without complaint. The updates don’t seem to be fixing the bugs, at least not the ones I experience. The base disconnects from my wifi often despite there being good wifi signal. The app says “ready to dream” while it’s on my child’s foot and he’s asleep. It splits his night wakings into different sleep sessions in the history panel so I can’t tell how much sleep overall he got. I think at the end of the day this is a luxury item that doesn’t necessarily have luxury quality. It does provide me with enough peace of mind to continue to use it though.

Update broke it. The app already wasn’t great, recent update made it unusable. It’s to create a new account. Reset sock. Kept freezing during setup. Still not working no live health reading

No improvements after two babies. Have used this now with two babies. Awful product and app. Very slow and will disconnect so I use a second closed Circuit camera as Backup. Update after update never improves performance.

Good. Very good product!

Camera won’t connect. My arm hurts from holding my phone to the camera with the QR code. It won’t connect.

No vitals in Canada. Will only track how long the baby sleeps for in Canada since the new update. You won't be able to see any vitals. So if you're in Canada and are wanting to buy this for peace of mind like I did, don't do it.

Great product but app sucks. The monitor itself is great. However, the app is seriously buggy and slow. For the amount the sock costs, you’d think a functioning app would come with it.

Sock is Great, App and Camera are a Joke. The sock itself is fantastic. The camera/app combo is “rage-inducing” as another reviewer so eloquently put it. Customer service was no help, either, since I’m beyond the “one year warranty window” by a mere three weeks - even though we did not set the Owlet up until six months after receiving it at our baby shower. Several refreshes and you’ll be fortunate if the video comes through. And good luck if you want the HD mode it promises - customer service states that having the video quality on “Auto” and the audio set to “Background” is the optimum way to keep the app functioning. Even then, it’s likely not to work - especially in the middle of the night when you need it most to keep an eye on your sleeping babe. Skip the Owlet camera and opt for something else. No matter how great your internet is, the camera will likely work only intermittently at best.

New Update - Not Good. While I like I called, “the new font/feature for the pulse and oxygen,” (which was already there). The fact that you got rid of the little stressful but useful little “status ball”, you moved the owlet cam room readings way down the screen. We now have to scroll up and down to see it. I like to have the owlet cam current room readings, right below the “Live health readings.” It is easier to glance in the middle of the night, to see what the current readings are, and the ability to see the baby as well. Instead of having to scroll up to check on the room readings. Give us the power to rearrange how we want to see the readings, and also, fix your iPad interface to fit on the screen like it shows on the iPhone.

Too expensive for the quality. I was choosing Owlet over Nanit, but I’m starting to regret it. This app is plain terrible. I have a pretty solid AP network in my house, the base and the camera both are with 20 ft of the AP with latest and greatest wifi technology and I cannot seem to get better than “fair” wifi connection. The app crashes and sometimes it takes multiple restarts to get the video streaming going. The iPad app is a scaled up iPhone app. At this pricepoint this is a huge miss. :( UPDATE: I have a dedicated access point 1ft away from the base station and 6 ft away from the camera, dedicated WLAN set up just for this system, with proper channel definitions and still cannot get better than “fair” network connection, while having a -64dBm signal on a 2.4GHz WiFi4 network connection. Maybe it’s time to choose a more reliable partner than the Shenzen Bilian Electronic Co. Sometimes the app is just churning and churning and not showing anything. App still crashes after some time. Buyers, just get the Eufy Baby kit (I wish it came out earlier) if you want a sock and camera, it’s light years better for less money. I truly regret this purchase, I will throw this kit out as selling it would make me feel like scamming others that want their baby safe. This product needs to come off the shelves and not put back on before the issues have been fixed. You are beta testing with BABIES for God’s sake…

Don’t fix what’s not broken.. Sock worked great until a few months ago with update. First the whole product was rendered useless with one of their “updates”. It’s gotten better but now wakings are off. Not sure why they ever had to mess with something that was working just fine. The camera is a different story. From day one the app has made the camera completely unreliable and nothing more than a paperweight. Don’t expect to use this as an all night baby monitor. App crashes, pop ups, etc make it so if you go to bed with the monitor working, it’s guaranteed to crash 30-45 mins after you’ve fallen asleep and leave you completely unaware your infant is screaming from their room for you. For a $350 product, I expect way more from this company. Absolutely atrocious execution of what could be a wonderful product. Surely you can afford some better developers.

Don’t buy this. I bought the owlet and sleep sock thinking it was one of the better products on the market. The app works fine, I guess, as it’s basically just a camera. I like the feature of temperature I. The room.. However, it only lets you connect to one phone. Defeating the purpose of having an old fashioned baby monitor where you can look at the monitor. My husband and caretaker don’t have access to look at her, just the one person with the app (me.) this is problematic and a major flaw in the product. We emailed the company and got no response on this. Skip it. I wish we had bought a different baby monitor. Oh, and we had a pediatrician recommend NOT using the sleep sock because it can cause more anxiety and unnecessary trips to the ER because it’s faulty. We didn’t even open it. I wish we had bought a different product and would NOT recommend.

Sleep history force closure. We love the app, and we only have the sock, not the camera, but we cannot access the sleep history for our baby. I want to be able to check on what her heart rate and oxygen levels were during the night, but every time I click into a sleep session, the app force closes and I cannot access it. This does provide some anxiety over making sure that her heart rate and oxygen have stayed consistent/normal throughout the night. As others have said, a product this expensive should allow the user to access all components of the app without issue. This issue remains after multiple updates and so-called “bug fixes”. Please fix this, and I will happily update my review to 5 stars.

Whet it works, great.. You’d think an FDA approved device such as this would have a top notch app. Wrong. I opened my reviews and felt compelled to type this, as I sit here at 230 in the morning, frustrated because it keeps dropping the WiFi connection in my < 1000 square foot home. I will literally be looking at the base station and it will disconnect and alarm that it’s lost connection to the base station. It’s a coin toss on what the app will say when I open it… sometimes it will look like I have no device added and I have to keep closing and reopening the app. Also, after ending a session you can’t see a clear bar of trends during said session. I’ve gotten into a habit of screenshotting the bar with the trends before I disconnect otherwise there’s no straightforward way to look at it. So yeah. It’s great when it actually works the way it’s supposed to, which is less often than you’d expect.

Product is a dream, app is a nightmare. We love the sock, and want to love the camera, but I can’t love the camera when 25% of the time or more the app says the camera is offline. It seems the only real way to fix it is to just wait, or go in his nursery to unplug the camera and plug it back in (which defeats the purpose of monitoring him from another room, I don’t want to wake him by messing with the camera). The other problem is sometimes the app doesn’t even read his vitals, so we have to frustratingly close and open the app multiple times until it works. Look, we paid good money, around $400 for this product. You’d think the app would at least function, but it doesn’t. And since the product is 90% reliant on using the app, totally not worth the money we spent on this. Owlet, FIX YOUR APP. Read your reviews, it’s gotta be a simple fix, you’re so close to an amazing product and the only thing standing in your way is fixing your stupid app.

Limited app settings. The sock itself works as advertised and I don’t have many complaints about that and it offers an anxious parent like me peace of mind. However, the app has almost no “settings” to customize anything. The base glows a bright green color and there is no way to turn off or dim this light so I have to put a blanket over it at night to block out the bright light. There are also no options to modify any of the sock’s alarms. It is extremely loud and this might be good for deep sleepers, but it would be nice to have options to make it a little quieter such as when I’m awake and baby is napping during the day. But instead your only choice is to have your phone start blaring (potentially waking baby up) just to let you know that the sock fell off. It’s worth it for me to continue using the sock, but I do wish the app’s settings had much more to offer.

Very poor connection. The socks themselves work well but this app cannot seem to connect to the wifi to save its life. After doing a lot of googling, I came across a site that reminded users that the wifi setting needs to be the 2.4 gHz wifi as the camera is not designed to connect to 5G. To try to alleviate this problem I turned off my router’s 5G setting completely. It still only connects half the time. Sometimes doing a hard reset of my phone fixes the issue. Sometimes reconnecting the camera to the app fixes the issue (temporarily). How much effort do I need to put in to make this product work? I try to do my due diligence and fix any “user errors” going on when using a product. But considering how much effort I’ve had to put in for this product that costs much more than a lot of other wifi camera options, I definitely recommend going with another option.

Garbage bc of app!. A $300 device in this economy is far from cheap. But, offering the promise of oxygen, heart rate, and sleep tracking to first time parents makes the steep price seem worth it for a peace of mind. Prepare to be disappointed AND broke. This app is garbage!!! Not once has the “history” tab worked to show me how my little one has slept. I’ve tried everything suggested to make it work… and still nothing. After an RSV diagnosis (and 4 days in the hospital) I’m giving it 2 stars, because being able to see my son’s oxygen level allows me to get some sleep and peace. Thank goodness I opted for the “cheap” version. I can’t imagine the fury I would feel if I had a camera component to be disappointed by, too. (Ps - I’m one of those “I never write reviews” people… but after an hour of trying to get this stupid sock reconnected to our wifi - for the 3rd time this week - I figured I’d climb up on this soap box before I toss this sock in the trash.)

Background audio does not work. Bought this because we love the dock. But Could not dislike the camera component of this monitor more. When you open the app to check the live video feed, as it’s running in the background, the video feed is always frozen. Always! Updates be damned. You have to close the whole app, relaunch, select the child (even thought there’s only one camera), and then wait for the live feed to restart. When you’re trying to check on a baby that minute+ is excruciating. Even more infuriating is the background audio, which consistently does not work. I was in the garden and heard the baby crying through the open window, opened the app, no sound, frozen as always, it glitched, then I could hear her. This happens every time. She’d been crying so long her Snoo had turned off. Makes me crazy!! Getting rid of it. Months of frustration and thinking maybe an update will solve have been for naught. Sock yes. Monitor huge NO.

Great product terrible app. All other 1-3 star reviews capture the frustration of this app. The sock is great. The fact that we have the technology to track heart rate and oxygen levels from a foot is amazing. However, the company obviously spent all their time on the sock technology, and none on their app. 1. In order to get updated readings, I have to open the app, close completely, and open again. I do this multiple times throughout the night, which gets annoying. 2. There should be charts to track sleeping patterns across the nights. The way it breaks up the sleep tracking is odd and not easy to find patterns. 3. There is not enough time to get the sock to and from the base before it yells at you. If you take the sock off the base and don’t put it on your child in time - base goes off. If you take it off your child and don’t get it on the base in time - it goes off. 4. The connection between base and sock is ridiculous. The idea of this product is that the base is by your bed to alert you of anything, but the base can’t be that far from the sock. I’ve traveled before where the base didn’t reach the bedroom, and therefore became obsolete. For such an expensive product, this company really really needs to do a big overhaul of their app. It’s time people.

Terrible product. Do not have peace of mind.. The camera is always lagging by a few seconds, maybe 10-30 second lag. My child turns, and it won’t show it on camera for a while. The background mode where you can use your phone while it displays the baby won’t actually play a live feed, it shows a picture and plays sound but the picture is not a live video. For a camera that can only connect to your phone, it’s pretty useless since you can only see the video when you’re on the app. You won’t be able to use your phone for anything else if you want to see the baby. This camera also takes a while to connect to the video, so not only is there a significant lag but it also won’t load fast enough to see if your child is okay. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this product.

Waste of money.. This sock and this app are absolutely terrible. This sock was outrageously expensive, and I’m woken up every single night by this app/sock going off because of no WiFi or wrong placement. None of my other apps “lose WiFi” like this sock does. I can not believe the ridiculous amount of money this sock costs for it to not to properly work. I’ve reached out to customer service and they’ve “fixed it” for it to malfunction again in the middle of the night and wake myself, my wife and my baby up the very next night. I spent a huge chunk of money for peace of mind of my baby’s health and if the sock every went off for a real reason, I’m terrified I would sleep thru the alert because I’m so used to hearing it go off. I can barely even make this review make sense because of how exhausted I am. again it’s insane how much money I spent on this sock for it to never properly work. There has got to be a better app/monitoring system out there cause it’s not the owlet care.

Constant Disappointment. I wish I could say good things about the app… I’ve spent numerous nights staring at the app buffering, trying to connect to the camera, resulting in “camera offline” messages and intermittent sound that cuts in and out. I’ve been beyond patient, but it is so frustrating to spend the money on this product and not be able to see my baby in the middle of the night. This app, by far, does not give me peace of mind, and puts me into a panic when I wake from sleep and see my camera is no longer connected and the app is no longer showing feed of my sleeping baby. The app has tons of updates and bug fixes but I consistently experience the same errors. So disappointed in a product that markets on “peace of mind” and continues to maintain the same price point and inconsistencies in its quality. Owlet, are you not ashamed of this app and camera?

Alert Issues and App Issues. The Owlet sock and camera aren’t bad themselves it does its job but the most annoying things are the alerts it gives… me and my wife can be in the process of putting the baby to sleep and boom it sets off an alarm saying sleep assist and it’s like he was already falling asleep why beep now and wake him up. Also the app takes forever to load sometimes and when an alert goes off like sock placement it takes 30 years to even shut it off or you have to go to the base station itself instead of access through the app. All around for $300 it should be better but me and my wife enjoy the product but the price should be dropped or fix the alert system and app.

Crashing all the time. I loved my owlet and have used the sock and camera duo since I brought my baby home. She’s now 7 months old and the app is just absolutely frustrating. It’s CONSTANTLY crashing. Readings aren’t coming across, camera takes FOREVER to load if it will load at all, and/or you have to constantly keep closing and reopening the app. When you’re counting on a product to monitor your baby it’s beyond frustrating to not be able to see or hear them! I’ve had to disconnect and reconnect both the camera and base station back onto the wood countless times which is a huge pain in the rear, especially in the middle of the night when the baby is sleeping. This duo was a baby shower gift but we might have to look into other options because there is ZERO reliability with this app. Do yourself a favor and just spend the money on a different brand. There’s others out there that provide the vital readings and seem to be working 1,000x better.

No alerts. Got our smart sock 3 as a gift prior to our son being born in 2021. Loved it. I’m a nurse and it helped me sleep knowing my baby was ok. My mom was trying to get it to work one night and it all of a sudden stopped and was converted to the “dream sock” and we could not convert back. My mom bought us another sock, thinking it was different, but that it would still alert us if his oxygen dropped. It doesn’t. Now we have 2 VERY expensive socks that don’t do what we need. Our son was recently diagnosed with asthma and is sick frequently. I cannot even sleep because i have to open the app every 10 min to check on him. Also, don’t even get me started on the horrible camera. Replaced that with a $60 camera almost immediately after it kept getting kicked offline and i couldn’t see my baby. And no 5G capability? Honestly, get it together or stop charging outrageous amounts for your products.

The app doesn’t work properly (updated). “Every single time I go to use the microphone feature it does it once then errors every time I try again until I force close the app a few times. You’d think they would fix this!?! “ So that was me a month or so ago, now? I’m a big fan!!! These guys read my review, sent me an email for more info and then FIXED THE PROBLEM. Never have I felt more seen as a complainer/customer than with the Owlet Team. I hope they read this in one of their board meetings and give kudos to whoever worked on fixing this glitch and pushing out the recent update. My app WORKS. My wife can now say good night to our child from the other side of the country without frustration and confusion. Kudos to you Owlet response team. KUDOS.

Read this who ever is in charge Ty. This app needs work you spend so much money on this to see and hear and check the wellness of your child but the sound works when it want always freezing or camera is not loading I’m not far from my wifi hook up and pay for the best wifi and ran a test and it’s working well I’m very frustrated at least the cheaper ones keep the sound on 24/7 to know if your kid is choking coughing ext. very disappointed in the who is in charge of updating it but UPDATE IT ALREADY AND FIX IT CUTTING IN AND OUT ON THE SOUND !! Not that any of you people Who work there or big wigs will ever care to ready the feed back but it needs help at least one thing needs to be fixed i don’t care if there’s 100 updates try at least fixing 1 at a time ASAP

Please bring Owlet Care back…. I recently purchased a second sock, loving home much piece of mind my first sock gave me with one of my babies. I figured it would be great to have the same peace of mind with my toddler. After purchasing, I come to find out the product now requires a new app and no longer provides the specific features I purchased for. Truly contemplating a return. Owlet dream doesn’t se to be as thoughtfully designed or coded. And it’s solving for a problem I didn’t need a solution for. I just want to know my kids are breathing well, and sleeping safely. Predictive sleep sounds cool but only AFTER understanding all vitals are good and stable. I don’t want to convert my infants smart sock to dream sock if this is the intended experience. And I wish I had the option to opt out of the Dream experience and use the care app for my toddler too. Super disappointed

App issues. This app is so frustrating! I only use the owlet cam feature, but every time I open it, it is delayed. I see a black screen for the first 10-15 seconds after opening the app, which is frustrating when I’m using it to check on my sleeping infant. It is also very delayed, I always seem to hear my son waking up from his nap before I get a notification, if I even get one. There have been a number of times that the “sound detected” or “motion detected” notifications have not gone off while my son is up and moving around. I’ve found myself not even trusting the camera anymore , which is frustrating considering I purchased this to ease my mind while my son sleeps. When I first started using this about 8 months ago, I didn’t have these issues, so hopefully these problems can be fixed because otherwise it would be a great device for parents!

WiFi and refresh problems. I am pleased with the Owlet Dream Sock when I can actually get the readings. I have not changed the space in which the base station sits however the WiFi constantly disconnects and it takes a while for it to refresh. When I try to set the WiFi back up it says that my baby’s sock has been removed from the account which doesn’t make sense and when I try to add it again it will keep saying it’s removed along with the ones I tried adding after. For a $300 sock I’d expect peak performance however I don’t feel like I’ve been getting that. Before this last update the sock had no WiFi problems just the refresh taking a little longer. I truly hope Owlet fixes this issue.

Owlet Dream Monitoring. Please do some research prior to purchasing the owlet service. Received the owlet bundle as a gift for our baby. System has been buggy from the beginning with connection and updating issue. Constant interruptions will make you want to pull your hair around the system. We’ve gone the full extent of using a separate monitoring service just to run next to this camera, by the customer support member stating it’s a “internet connect issue”. A reolink is more reliable than this camera, with no disconnection from our internet, which I now take that it’s a worthless service with horrible server issues. Only benefit to this system was the dream sock that one ups the reolink service, that assisted for the first 3-5 months, even that had connection issues. At this point would recommend any other monitoring camera is better than this one.

Great product, terrible app. I really like the product, I feel like the camera is awesome especially in the dark. I try to keep the camera on live stream on my phone or iPad and the app constantly crashes and I have to reopen the app, which is not helpful unless you are constantly watching the screen. The iPhone app seems to be a little better than the iPad for this. Especially with the screen rotation option on the iPad. I have to get out of the app and then go back in to rotate the camera image. Also, would be nice to have multi cameras on one screen like a split screen for people with multiple children. I have triples and have 3 cameras but can only look at one at a time. Even just 2 camera views at once might be helpful or just an easier way to toggle between them. I feel like the product is great, the app was an afterthought, but unfortunately you have to use the app to use the product, no option to buy a separate camera monitor.

Love the Sock— the App is horrible. I love the sock and have used it for both of my babies. It gives me reassurance that everything is okay while I’m asleep. Fortunately it’ll read even when there is no internet connection. The app is literally the worst. I have two cameras and I’ve use it now for 3 1/2 years and have had trouble with it the whole time. One camera will work and the other won’t and vice versa. It’ll say there is no internet connection when there is, it’ll just spin and load a instead of actually working, I’ve had to create a whole new account because my old one just completely stopped working, if you sleep with it on it’ll cut off and stop working in the middle of the night, it’s really not a good app which makes me wish I had invested in another sleep system years ago instead of this one.

Absolute trash. This app is ridiculous. It says my camera is offline all the time. Like legitimately more than 50% of the time that I go to look on the camera, it says it’s offline. And there’s NOTHING that can be done in the moment to fix it. It just randomly works and randomly stops working. We have perfectly fine Wi-Fi that hardly ever goes out of connection, even though the app says the camera is always “offline”. So so so sick and tired of it. The “sleep sock” or whatever they call it now is fine. The app always worked fine for that, but my kids are older now and don’t wear the sock anymore. The camera itself seems to be fine, in my opinion it’s the dumb app that likes to disconnect from the camera for no apparent reason. So so so frustrating to not be able to check on my baby while they’re sleeping. 0/5 stars

Wifi connection. I love most of the things that this monitor provides but there needs to be some changes on wifi connection because the camera keeps getting disconnected and turns off by itself and you have reset everything in order for the camera and the app show, even when i left the house and left the baby with my in-laws i couldnt get a hold of the camera because it disconnected the minute i went to car i was in the drive way. The sensons are amazing the sense everything within 20 feet sound and 10 feet montion sensors and amazing i am amazed but connecting to wifi and trying to see when your not home, i only had this for 3 months now it started acting up after a month i thought the connection was but not i even upgraded the modem but that wasnt the problem.0

App needs major improvement. I am not sure if I have ever left a review for an app before but for a product that cost $300, I should not have to waste 30+ minutes every single night just trying to get the app to connect to it. The sock gives me a ton of peace of mind when the app does work but it is wayyyy too buggy. I have to waste so much time opening and closing the app, turning off and turning on Wi-Fi, trying the app on my husband’s phone, etc. because it constantly just says “connecting to base station.” Then after I while, I have to get up and just go physically check on him and risk waking him up because I can’t see how he is doing. Again, for such an expensive product, this needs to be addressed asap. Definitely am wishing I went with another safety product after so many nights of wasting time dealing with the app!!

Good app but…. I have used the app for over a year, currently there are some bugs that cause the camera to get stuck refreshing and the app will cause the phone to sleep. Unfortunately I am also asleep so I won’t know the app failed until I wake in the morning. Good things - when we were using the dream sock it offered comfort that there was additional monitoring and any alerts we received were usually due to poor placement or low battery. Camera has good visuals. Sucky things - the app can quit/stop due to other apps on your phone interfering (eg email app requiring password reauthorization randomly). The app must stay on for you to hear anything throughout the night. There is a notification component that will alert if the baby is crying, but I have my phone on silent due to other app notifications so I won’t hear it buzzing if I’m asleep

Horribly unreliable.. Obscenely overpriced product for something that works maybe half of the time. This app is a horrible baby monitor. Fine for checking heartbeat and o2 levels but the monitoring piece is horrible. The background noise works about half the time, the app closes randomly throughout the night, sometimes the sound works if your ringer is turned off, sometimes it doesn't. Literally a gamble. Camera lags and takes forever to update. Temperate is never correct. Literally could go on and on about why you should not buy this product and use this app. I never write reviews for things but last night was ridiculous. My daughter was screaming for who knows how long because the app closed out. We just happened to wake up and go check on her and she had been screaming for some time and was extremely upset. Took forever to calm her down.

Pointless as a baby monitor. I hate this app as a baby monitor. The sound never stays on in the background through the night. And since the latest update the sound doesn’t work at all unless I have the app open. I can have it open, sound on background, and the second I exit the app or close my phone the sound turns off. The video is also extremely slow at catching up when I open up the app to check on my baby. I have no idea half the time if my baby really is still sleeping and she’s just making sounds in her sleep, or if she’s up because it’s so slow. This is a problem, especially in the middle of the night, because I have no idea what is happening in real time when I’m hearing noises. I have been using this camera app for about 6 months and the issues keep to be getting worse, not better. I think I’d rather go back to using a separate camera and monitor. This app as a monitor is awful.

Small updates would make big difference for my family-3 year no changes with my issues!!!. Have to open and close the app anytime I want to click through the app. Once you click the screen split button you can no longer click through the app unless you minimize it and the reopen to maximize the other child’s screen (To see both kids cams at the sometime at night) do this every night before bed. Very annoying!!!! if you have to explain this to a babysitter, nobody knows what you’re talking about😩😩😩 Anytime my power goes out I have to re sync the Wi-Fi to the camera and I wake my child every time I have to do it and it’s like a 20 minute process to “hear the chime!” Only have to reconnect my Wi-Fi on my original old cam not the new one. Support has told me multiple times it should not be an issue but it is. I live near the water, so we lose power quite frequently when there is a storm. ruins, my three year old sleep and ultimately affects her day the next day at school, which intern ruins, a workday for me if she gets sent home for being upset at school for a poor night’s sleep …quite the trickle down effect!!!! Have two kids would like the ability to see them side by side. Not small corner screen verse big screen. Seems like very basic changes in software that would be the difference of me recommending to a friend and I have had for 3 year and no changes ever made!!!!! So annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frustrated. I have been an owlet customer for 2 years now. I had the previous app with no issues prior to having my second child and getting another camera and sock set. With this new set, I had to download this app- Owlet Dream. The extra features are nice, HOWEVER the app closes out after a limited time. I have to wake up 5-10 times a night to reopen the app to watch/monitor my babies. I’m extremely frustrated as this system is $500 and doesn’t even have the same safety feature as a $100 basic baby monitor- that is continuous video monitoring of your child. Owlet needs to change this app to perform as the previous one. If I had known I would have to download this app to work my new set, I would’ve bought a cheaper more basic monitoring system. I am very disappointed in this company now. Being in the medical field, I find this app to be extremely unsafe.

App needs improvement. Frustrating app, but the sock itself is solid. To be fair, there does seem to be steady improvements with lots of updates, but they need to seriously question their development strategy to have released such a poor app given the price point. Very glitchy overall. Woken up daily by premature low battery notifications (4 HOURS left on a sock that only charges to one nights worth to begin with). Annoying full screen notifications that have to be dismissed. Slow loading times for information and way too many clicks and loading screens to silence alarms. Very annoying when alarming due to lost connection, etc. Again, props for the improvement and steady updates, but when the original baseline was literally not even functional performance, that’s not saying much.

Quick start guide is not helpful?. Went through the quick start guide for the smart sock, and it let me hear the sounds it will make depending on the situation, but the sound kept going, would not stop, and wouldn’t let me play the other sounds. I eventually had to just click through the entire guide to make it shut up, and I didn’t even read everything or hear the other sounds. Pretty pointless guide if you ask me. I ended up having to remove the device and add it again, and now it won’t connect to WiFi. And when I finally found the guide again (it won’t let you access it unless you’re setting up the dock for the very first time), it did the exact same thing. Super frustrating. Haven’t used the sock on my baby yet, as she isn’t born, but the app could definitely use some improvements.

Peace of mind. It was some trial and error with the sock but after some tries we got it to fit properly and now have peace of mind. My son was born a bit under weight (4lbs15oz) so the sock would fall off and the alarm would go off. It would startle us awake but I would rather that than have a mishap. Hands down worth the money and would recommend to any new parent out there. Only thing I could think of is not having a premie sock for smaller babies as a down side. I corrected the problem by keeping the sock tightly wrapped when not in use and placing a normal sock over the sleep sock to keep it in place when it is on my son.

Great peace of mind. Some clunky aspects of the app.. The owlet app is great, especially after having a baby in the NICU for about 2 months. You get used to the monitors and the owlet provides that information for you right on your cell phone. I will say that the app is a bit awkward for the more detailed aspects of sleep quality graphs and the history tab. -The sleep quality graph doesn’t reliably generate each time the app is opened; sometimes you need to force quit and open the app several times in order to view the sleep quality graph. -The history tab inconsistently breaks apart sleep sessions between dates. Sometimes a sleep session will span two dates other times the session is included in a single date.

Over the past 3 years, the app as went to crap.. We have been using the owlet app and products for almost 3 years and the quality of the app has went downhill; not to mention that customer service is a joke. It is constantly cutting out on audio or dropping audio all together. The video is also constantly choppy. We have 100 mbps for download speed on our internet and it rarely goes out so this is not a connectivity issue. I attempted to explain this to customer service and was sent to an FAQ page after answering their 5 random questions, which was largely unhelpful. The most recent update eliminated sound all together from the video monitor so it isn’t even useful at this point. It’s just junk. After my experience, I’d advise new parents to find a different product and brand to use.

Sleep Schedule. So my two month old is terrible about taking naps. He has a hard time falling asleep for his FOMO. Therefore, I was having a hard time figuring out when he should be napping or how long he should be awake. The app has accurately calculated, pretty much every single nap window. This is just during the day without the sock on. However, there has been no input from the app to suggest that his quality of sleep has improved wearing the sock at night. So not sure why it says that it would. Last thing, HOW do turn off the “hush little baby” tune that plays when your kid is moving or the sock isn’t snug???? All searches I’ve done have information for the old app.

Sock is decent, app is terrible. Like most of the other recent reviews say, the sock itself serves its purpose, due to lawsuits it no longer alerts to things it should like changes in heart rate and oxygen levels, you have to watch them yourself. The app on the other hand is terrible. It rarely connects without multiple attempts, on multiple attempts we have never been succesful about connecting to a different wifi network while traveling, fortunately it works at home but that is it. Customer service is also non-existent. Hours are terrible and when you do get in contact the help is even worse. There are many cheaper options with better reviews, I have never tried any of those, but for the price, they can’t be much worse than the Owlet, it is no wonder they continue to lose marketshare. Hopefully they will make necessary changes and get things lined out, but I will not be buying any additional product until they do.

Should be better. The camera works fine but the app and connectivity is a mess. Not reliable at all! We ended up having to buy an old school audio only monitor cause you can’t rely on the app to stay connected through the night. Lately the audio fully cuts out randomly and you have to turn your volume up and down to trigger it to come back on. For something responsible for watching our children I am greatly disappointed in the performance to cost ratio. Owlet is expensive so you think you’re buying the best product for your baby, and instead you end up with a good product (camera) and a downright unreliable and pretty crappy way to use the product (the app)! I wouldn’t recommend to any new parents. Save your money and get a cheaper camera and buy a cheap and reliable old school audio only monitor. That combo will work far better than dealing with this crappy app!

Do Not Get This Camera. This is the first time I’ve ever written a review but I had to warn other parents about how bad this app is. If you plan to use the camera and app as your baby monitor don’t do it! As a first time parent with a now 3 month, getting the camera was a horrible choice. The app frequently stops working, whether you are connected to the internet or cell service. I’ve deleted and redownload the app. My husband also has the same issue on his phone. Many times I’ve woken to my child screaming in another room with no sound from this app, even if I have the background mode turned on. It causes a ton of anxiety every night not knowing if you will hear your child’s cries when the app randomly stops working. Additionally, when you do open or restart the app the camera takes at minimum 20 seconds to load. This can be very stressful when you want to do a quick check in the middle of the night or if you hear a random noise.

For the price - absolutely awful. Firstly - given that the hardware for the owlet (sock and camera) are so expensive I was really hoping for a seamless experience. The app crashes all the time, doesn’t update sleep and takes ages to load. If you’re watching the camera then exit the app prepare to hear the live audio for the next half an hour, even if you exit then close the app. Camera doesn’t have a history, it’s only a live feed. This is really frustrating when you want to see what happened previously. My $20 Wyze cam does that no problem.. The sock is fine, it’s easy to use. But for when it’s important there’s absolutely no good alerts.. our baby managed to push the sock off and there was no loud alerts from our phones so we were none the wiser if she was in trouble.. considering this is what I purchased it for its extremely disappointing

Why did I pay this much money. When are the people who develop this app actually going to fix the bugs within the app? I’ve noticed the same thing be posted over and over and over again for the last year and NOTHING has been fixed. I am CONSTANTLY having to refresh and leave the app for the camera to be live, it constantly disconnects from the base and will now show me her HR/Blood Oxygen, it will stop doing the background noise for the baby monitor after a certain period time which is real unfortunate during the night, and it constantly will switch off sending notifications. My question is WHEN is it going to get fixed if you have this many of the same complaints??? I paid $300+ thinking I would have a camera and sleep sock that would actually work for the price that I paid.

Won’t connect again. Now the app won’t even open its 5am and I have to risk waking baby up just to check on her because this expensive piece of plastic doesn’t do the job it’s supposed to do. All the negative reviews and never any solutions. How does this app even have 4 stars?! Bad customer service, all the emails I’ve sent and never been answered. The company should be ashamed of themselves. They probably don’t even use their own products. Update: Owlet does not know how to fix their own products. I have an email thread going from December 2021. Device works Ok week or two at a time then stops working at the most inconvenient times. Customer service is a scam. They just want you to download different apps to test your internet speed. Then they tell you to put your router in the room with the baby. How come it works fine any other time? My app has been giving me issues all morning loading slow but since I’ve emailed them about the issue the app won’t open at all. Thanks owlet!

Sock is good app is trash.. Love to use the sock, as I like knowing that my daughter is okay. However, every time you open the app it takes minutes to load, and then not everything will be displayed; the bar graph does not always show up. Furthermore, and the most aggravating thing, is that when you are trying to put the sock on or take it off, you have like 10 seconds before the base starts going off, and the app blocks any buttons with a dumb pop up that you can’t get rid off. So imagine trying to put your baby down for the night, and you’re not quick enough, so the base starts making noise, your phone makes noise, and if you have any pets they start making noise…Now your little one is awake, because the makers of this app can’t figure out an option that lets parents put the sock on or off without letting the entire neighborhood know it takes them more than 10 seconds.

Need to invest more in the app.. So far we love our Owlet devices (we have twins) and the additional comfort we feel from our children sleeping with them. With that said, the app has a number of programs that need to be addressed. First, it sometimes take a while to load…which is frustrating when you need to check/silence an alarm. Second, the app sometimes closes out on me for no reason…particularly when I’m trying to view sleep history. Lastly, the app should log when alarms were triggered…it would be help to track that information for our pediatrician and our own sanity. If that feature exists, I’ve been unable to find it. The app is the only thing keeping me from giving this device a 5 star review.

Terrible app. I was so excited about the dream sock, camera, and the app when I had my fist kid. For the first few months it worked great, then they completely changed the app interface for some reason. And now more than half the time I am not able to see if my kid falling asleep or not because the stupid app won’t load the video feed. Then when the video finally does come up, the sound cuts out. I like to leave the background sound on so I can hear if she cries or wakes up, but the app always shuts off 10 minutes later and I have no idea it has even shut off until I hear my kid crying down the hall. The camera and the app linking them are fundamentally flawed and do not work well together at all. Also this stupid app drains the battery on my phone so fast, it uses up 56% of my phone battery usage, triple what the next closest battery usage app on my phone uses. Do not buy this product or use the app, it is an infuriating waste of your time and money
