App needs improvement. Frustrating app, but the sock itself is solid. To be fair, there does seem to be steady improvements with lots of updates, but they need to seriously question their development strategy to have released such a poor app given the price point. Very glitchy overall. Woken up daily by premature low battery notifications (4 HOURS left on a sock that only charges to one nights worth to begin with). Annoying full screen notifications that have to be dismissed. Slow loading times for information and way too many clicks and loading screens to silence alarms. Very annoying when alarming due to lost connection, etc. Again, props for the improvement and steady updates, but when the original baseline was literally not even functional performance, that’s not saying much.

Should be better. The camera works fine but the app and connectivity is a mess. Not reliable at all! We ended up having to buy an old school audio only monitor cause you can’t rely on the app to stay connected through the night. Lately the audio fully cuts out randomly and you have to turn your volume up and down to trigger it to come back on. For something responsible for watching our children I am greatly disappointed in the performance to cost ratio. Owlet is expensive so you think you’re buying the best product for your baby, and instead you end up with a good product (camera) and a downright unreliable and pretty crappy way to use the product (the app)! I wouldn’t recommend to any new parents. Save your money and get a cheaper camera and buy a cheap and reliable old school audio only monitor. That combo will work far better than dealing with this crappy app!

Horrible!. I really used to like this monitor when I first got it about a year ago. I always got a clear picture and the sound worked great. Now it barely connects and when it does the sound is constantly cutting out. My kids sleep on the second floor and it’s incredibly frustrating that I can’t hear or see them because this app is so terrible. Do better owlet! As parents we are counting on this tech to help us be there for our children during the night if they need us. The camera and sock aren’t cheap and our money has been wasted as they can’t even be used without this horrible app. I wish there was an option to have an actual monitor and not just this app. After seeing so many bad reviews complaining about the same issues you would think they would do more to fix the app 😡

Won’t connect again. Now the app won’t even open its 5am and I have to risk waking baby up just to check on her because this expensive piece of plastic doesn’t do the job it’s supposed to do. All the negative reviews and never any solutions. How does this app even have 4 stars?! Bad customer service, all the emails I’ve sent and never been answered. The company should be ashamed of themselves. They probably don’t even use their own products. Update: Owlet does not know how to fix their own products. I have an email thread going from December 2021. Device works Ok week or two at a time then stops working at the most inconvenient times. Customer service is a scam. They just want you to download different apps to test your internet speed. Then they tell you to put your router in the room with the baby. How come it works fine any other time? My app has been giving me issues all morning loading slow but since I’ve emailed them about the issue the app won’t open at all. Thanks owlet!

Great product, terrible app. I really like the product, I feel like the camera is awesome especially in the dark. I try to keep the camera on live stream on my phone or iPad and the app constantly crashes and I have to reopen the app, which is not helpful unless you are constantly watching the screen. The iPhone app seems to be a little better than the iPad for this. Especially with the screen rotation option on the iPad. I have to get out of the app and then go back in to rotate the camera image. Also, would be nice to have multi cameras on one screen like a split screen for people with multiple children. I have triples and have 3 cameras but can only look at one at a time. Even just 2 camera views at once might be helpful or just an easier way to toggle between them. I feel like the product is great, the app was an afterthought, but unfortunately you have to use the app to use the product, no option to buy a separate camera monitor.

Pointless as a baby monitor. I hate this app as a baby monitor. The sound never stays on in the background through the night. And since the latest update the sound doesn’t work at all unless I have the app open. I can have it open, sound on background, and the second I exit the app or close my phone the sound turns off. The video is also extremely slow at catching up when I open up the app to check on my baby. I have no idea half the time if my baby really is still sleeping and she’s just making sounds in her sleep, or if she’s up because it’s so slow. This is a problem, especially in the middle of the night, because I have no idea what is happening in real time when I’m hearing noises. I have been using this camera app for about 6 months and the issues keep to be getting worse, not better. I think I’d rather go back to using a separate camera and monitor. This app as a monitor is awful.

RSV. Wanted to start off by saying I know the Owlet is not a “medical device” or recommended for “diagnosis” BUT my daughter had RSV at about 7/8 months old and seemed to be doing just fine, until she wasn’t. It happened so quickly and this sock was one of the main reasons I brought my LO to the ER and was admitted twice! It gives parents a little piece of mind, and a base to go off of. You kind of learn what your child’s numbers typically are, and when they’re off.. you check on them, and if they’re fine check the fit of the sock bc if it isn’t on correctly or tight enough it will be off a little from your typical readings. The app does have a lot of crashes and bugs, and the biggest thing I think the app needs is customizable notification settings, if levels get to a certain limit of my choosing I want it to notify me so I can check on my child. I’d so much rather get a low false reading and get notified than to not get any notification at all. I do always recommend this to my friends and family but I hope they continue to make improvements in the app and customization settings.

Wish it had more features & needs to be fixed.. The app needs an update. I wish there was a way to see what times were the “awake” times vs the “sleep” times. All you see is a graph which goes away once you take the sock off. Id love to look back to see what times my babies heartrate was through the night as well instead of an “average” graph. I also wish there was a feature to see what times the average O2 was through the night, it would be even better if we can get the old version back where it wasn’t a 10 min average for O2. My base also alarms when my babies heart rate goes high but it says “sock placement error” instead of “needs your help to sleep better” it gets confusing.

Absolute trash. I hate to keep beating the gong, but this camera is terrible. 7/10 times it says it cannot reach the camera and we get no picture. 2/10 times we get a picture that it is choppy with no sound, slow, and a solid 10 seconds behind. 1/10 times we get both picture and sound, but the sound cuts in and out. It is definitely not our wifi since it is close to the router and we have extremely fast internet. DO NOT BUY THIS. Read the reviews and save your money Also, it sends notifications saying noise or motion detected, but we have multiple kids and multiple cameras but it doesn't tell you which camera is detecting motion/noise. Absolute fail

Quick start guide is not helpful?. Went through the quick start guide for the smart sock, and it let me hear the sounds it will make depending on the situation, but the sound kept going, would not stop, and wouldn’t let me play the other sounds. I eventually had to just click through the entire guide to make it shut up, and I didn’t even read everything or hear the other sounds. Pretty pointless guide if you ask me. I ended up having to remove the device and add it again, and now it won’t connect to WiFi. And when I finally found the guide again (it won’t let you access it unless you’re setting up the dock for the very first time), it did the exact same thing. Super frustrating. Haven’t used the sock on my baby yet, as she isn’t born, but the app could definitely use some improvements.

Don’t fix what’s not broken.. Sock worked great until a few months ago with update. First the whole product was rendered useless with one of their “updates”. It’s gotten better but now wakings are off. Not sure why they ever had to mess with something that was working just fine. The camera is a different story. From day one the app has made the camera completely unreliable and nothing more than a paperweight. Don’t expect to use this as an all night baby monitor. App crashes, pop ups, etc make it so if you go to bed with the monitor working, it’s guaranteed to crash 30-45 mins after you’ve fallen asleep and leave you completely unaware your infant is screaming from their room for you. For a $350 product, I expect way more from this company. Absolutely atrocious execution of what could be a wonderful product. Surely you can afford some better developers.

Sleep Schedule. So my two month old is terrible about taking naps. He has a hard time falling asleep for his FOMO. Therefore, I was having a hard time figuring out when he should be napping or how long he should be awake. The app has accurately calculated, pretty much every single nap window. This is just during the day without the sock on. However, there has been no input from the app to suggest that his quality of sleep has improved wearing the sock at night. So not sure why it says that it would. Last thing, HOW do turn off the “hush little baby” tune that plays when your kid is moving or the sock isn’t snug???? All searches I’ve done have information for the old app.

Do Not Get This Camera. This is the first time I’ve ever written a review but I had to warn other parents about how bad this app is. If you plan to use the camera and app as your baby monitor don’t do it! As a first time parent with a now 3 month, getting the camera was a horrible choice. The app frequently stops working, whether you are connected to the internet or cell service. I’ve deleted and redownload the app. My husband also has the same issue on his phone. Many times I’ve woken to my child screaming in another room with no sound from this app, even if I have the background mode turned on. It causes a ton of anxiety every night not knowing if you will hear your child’s cries when the app randomly stops working. Additionally, when you do open or restart the app the camera takes at minimum 20 seconds to load. This can be very stressful when you want to do a quick check in the middle of the night or if you hear a random noise.

App isn’t functional. We used this product (sock + camera) for about two months and it only got worse and worse. The app was always buggy and we’d have to restart it almost every time we’d want to check on our baby; if would freeze up or sometimes just not have any sound. They say it doesn’t work well with more than one user, but that’s simply not practical when you have your spouse and a family member helping to watch the baby. For a solution that costs $320 I’d expect it to bare minimum have a functional app. Then about two months in, for multiple nights it would alert us in the night that the sock was misaligned -- however it would ONLY alert loudly in the nursery where we kept the base station, and wouldn’t alert our phones. This was very worrisome for us because (1) it would wake our baby, but more importantly (2) we knew we couldn’t count on it to alert our phones in the bedroom if there was a dip in his oxygen levels, which is the whole point of us using the Owlet. Save your money and don’t bother with this product.

App needs major improvement. I am not sure if I have ever left a review for an app before but for a product that cost $300, I should not have to waste 30+ minutes every single night just trying to get the app to connect to it. The sock gives me a ton of peace of mind when the app does work but it is wayyyy too buggy. I have to waste so much time opening and closing the app, turning off and turning on Wi-Fi, trying the app on my husband’s phone, etc. because it constantly just says “connecting to base station.” Then after I while, I have to get up and just go physically check on him and risk waking him up because I can’t see how he is doing. Again, for such an expensive product, this needs to be addressed asap. Definitely am wishing I went with another safety product after so many nights of wasting time dealing with the app!!

Absolute trash. This app is ridiculous. It says my camera is offline all the time. Like legitimately more than 50% of the time that I go to look on the camera, it says it’s offline. And there’s NOTHING that can be done in the moment to fix it. It just randomly works and randomly stops working. We have perfectly fine Wi-Fi that hardly ever goes out of connection, even though the app says the camera is always “offline”. So so so sick and tired of it. The “sleep sock” or whatever they call it now is fine. The app always worked fine for that, but my kids are older now and don’t wear the sock anymore. The camera itself seems to be fine, in my opinion it’s the dumb app that likes to disconnect from the camera for no apparent reason. So so so frustrating to not be able to check on my baby while they’re sleeping. 0/5 stars

So many glitches. You are already frustrated with a cranky baby then you have to deal with this stupid apps glitches. I have to close out of the app and restart 10x sometimes. I have to unplug the device in general (after the baby is sleeping) and replug to see if it’ll stop glitching. We use those overnight and I swear every am the audio doesn’t sync up with the video. It’s frustrating. The audio is always lagging. We’ve given it 4 months. Tried changing the internet speed, everything possible! Going to try the nanit now and see if that software is better. Also temp isn’t always accurate. My Dyson fan/air purifier is always accurate and this camera is way off. Had to turn off the temp notifications bc it was so annoying and false.

Horribly unreliable.. Obscenely overpriced product for something that works maybe half of the time. This app is a horrible baby monitor. Fine for checking heartbeat and o2 levels but the monitoring piece is horrible. The background noise works about half the time, the app closes randomly throughout the night, sometimes the sound works if your ringer is turned off, sometimes it doesn't. Literally a gamble. Camera lags and takes forever to update. Temperate is never correct. Literally could go on and on about why you should not buy this product and use this app. I never write reviews for things but last night was ridiculous. My daughter was screaming for who knows how long because the app closed out. We just happened to wake up and go check on her and she had been screaming for some time and was extremely upset. Took forever to calm her down.

Don’t buy this. I bought the owlet and sleep sock thinking it was one of the better products on the market. The app works fine, I guess, as it’s basically just a camera. I like the feature of temperature I. The room.. However, it only lets you connect to one phone. Defeating the purpose of having an old fashioned baby monitor where you can look at the monitor. My husband and caretaker don’t have access to look at her, just the one person with the app (me.) this is problematic and a major flaw in the product. We emailed the company and got no response on this. Skip it. I wish we had bought a different baby monitor. Oh, and we had a pediatrician recommend NOT using the sleep sock because it can cause more anxiety and unnecessary trips to the ER because it’s faulty. We didn’t even open it. I wish we had bought a different product and would NOT recommend.

Owlet Dream Monitoring. Please do some research prior to purchasing the owlet service. Received the owlet bundle as a gift for our baby. System has been buggy from the beginning with connection and updating issue. Constant interruptions will make you want to pull your hair around the system. We’ve gone the full extent of using a separate monitoring service just to run next to this camera, by the customer support member stating it’s a “internet connect issue”. A reolink is more reliable than this camera, with no disconnection from our internet, which I now take that it’s a worthless service with horrible server issues. Only benefit to this system was the dream sock that one ups the reolink service, that assisted for the first 3-5 months, even that had connection issues. At this point would recommend any other monitoring camera is better than this one.

Please bring Owlet Care back…. I recently purchased a second sock, loving home much piece of mind my first sock gave me with one of my babies. I figured it would be great to have the same peace of mind with my toddler. After purchasing, I come to find out the product now requires a new app and no longer provides the specific features I purchased for. Truly contemplating a return. Owlet dream doesn’t se to be as thoughtfully designed or coded. And it’s solving for a problem I didn’t need a solution for. I just want to know my kids are breathing well, and sleeping safely. Predictive sleep sounds cool but only AFTER understanding all vitals are good and stable. I don’t want to convert my infants smart sock to dream sock if this is the intended experience. And I wish I had the option to opt out of the Dream experience and use the care app for my toddler too. Super disappointed

Love the Sock— the App is horrible. I love the sock and have used it for both of my babies. It gives me reassurance that everything is okay while I’m asleep. Fortunately it’ll read even when there is no internet connection. The app is literally the worst. I have two cameras and I’ve use it now for 3 1/2 years and have had trouble with it the whole time. One camera will work and the other won’t and vice versa. It’ll say there is no internet connection when there is, it’ll just spin and load a instead of actually working, I’ve had to create a whole new account because my old one just completely stopped working, if you sleep with it on it’ll cut off and stop working in the middle of the night, it’s really not a good app which makes me wish I had invested in another sleep system years ago instead of this one.

History/reads never available. First off, customer service was terrible. I needed a new cord because for some reason the one provided stopped working. Having the function of messaging with them was nice but three separate times I sent pictures of the cord and the adapter part only to be shipped the wrong cord 3x! How does that happen.. finally fourth time the woman said they were all out and couldn’t put me on a waitlist. So I had to buy a $15 cord which wouldn’t be a problem but what’s the point of paying for a warranty then..When I first started using the sock everything was great back in beginning of July. I updated the app and now it’s gone down the tubes. Constantly saying connection issues and will go off all the time unless I manually turn the base on then off. I never can see any data while she has it on anymore nor do I see the quality of sleep. Worst part is you try looking at past days and you can’t even see the sleep quality anymore. What’s the point of the $400 sock? This app need major work fast because it’s not right as a first time parent to just want a little peace of mind and this type of stuff happens.

App issues. This app is so frustrating! I only use the owlet cam feature, but every time I open it, it is delayed. I see a black screen for the first 10-15 seconds after opening the app, which is frustrating when I’m using it to check on my sleeping infant. It is also very delayed, I always seem to hear my son waking up from his nap before I get a notification, if I even get one. There have been a number of times that the “sound detected” or “motion detected” notifications have not gone off while my son is up and moving around. I’ve found myself not even trusting the camera anymore , which is frustrating considering I purchased this to ease my mind while my son sleeps. When I first started using this about 8 months ago, I didn’t have these issues, so hopefully these problems can be fixed because otherwise it would be a great device for parents!

Should Be Better. I’m embarrassed for recommending this product to so many friends. for as expensive the camera and sock are, this app should be way better. When our son was born, back in July ‘22, this app was great. Had 0 complaints. Worked flawlessly. But ever since August/September, there have been countless bugs. -Have to close out of the app completely for the camera to load. Just spins and spins when trying to go back into the app without fully closing it. -A full night of sleep history is never viewable, it gets chopped up into naps/sleep/nap and cuts off before the sock is removed in the morning, by hours! Ie, bed time is 830-8am if he wakes at 1 to eat, it’s chopped off and doesn’t resume for an hour or so, if he wakes at 5, it cuts off and doesn’t finish out the night when the sock is removed in the morning. -Not sure what’s going on with the temp sensor on the camera but it is a steady 10-15° less than the actual room temp. -Have to restart the camera at least twice a week from it stating it’s ‘offline’ when trying to view. All that being said, we’ve had a great peace of mind using the sock at night and the camera (when it works) is a great convenience. Especially sound and motion alerts.

Frustrated. I have been an owlet customer for 2 years now. I had the previous app with no issues prior to having my second child and getting another camera and sock set. With this new set, I had to download this app- Owlet Dream. The extra features are nice, HOWEVER the app closes out after a limited time. I have to wake up 5-10 times a night to reopen the app to watch/monitor my babies. I’m extremely frustrated as this system is $500 and doesn’t even have the same safety feature as a $100 basic baby monitor- that is continuous video monitoring of your child. Owlet needs to change this app to perform as the previous one. If I had known I would have to download this app to work my new set, I would’ve bought a cheaper more basic monitoring system. I am very disappointed in this company now. Being in the medical field, I find this app to be extremely unsafe.

The app is terrible!!. We love the owlet, and we have used it with each of our four children for the first year of their life. That being said, the app’s functionality is awful. My husband and I both have an iPhone 12. We have to keep a backup monitor in each of the twin’s rooms because the app will randomly crash, and it is unreliable. I woke up to my one twin screaming because the app crashed on my phone. Hence, why we now have a backup monitor. The app at times is slow and freezes. I spend a lot of time refreshing the app because it stops working. Which is super frustrating because for the amount of money we paid for the owlets and the monitors, you would expect better quality in the app technology. I hope they have some updates to the app that fix all the bugs and issues.

Unbelievably terrible app. I can’t even believe how terrible this app is for such an “advanced” concept of baby monitoring and for how expensive this system is. I regret registering for it and should’ve gone with a less expensive basic system. The sock is so difficult to put on and stay on (why not just make an actual sock that slips and fastens on?). The camera is always going out and SO delayed. The app doesn’t have options for anything really (would be nice to customize it more, change the annoying song of the base when it goes off or the volume of it, etc). I saw so many reviews like this but stupidly ignored them and now I wish I had paid attention. Don’t buy this system. I see so many reviews and even see they’ve responded but nothing has changed and it’s been a while? THEIRRESPONSES ARE SO GENERIC AND NOTHING CHANGES!!! Please sit down with real parents who have used this app and could give valuable feedback, whenever and if ever you decide to listen and update it. I will now need to spend money on another camera because this one is GARBAGE. Not sure how the stars are still high on this it should be in the negatives. Such TRASH.

Garbage bc of app!. A $300 device in this economy is far from cheap. But, offering the promise of oxygen, heart rate, and sleep tracking to first time parents makes the steep price seem worth it for a peace of mind. Prepare to be disappointed AND broke. This app is garbage!!! Not once has the “history” tab worked to show me how my little one has slept. I’ve tried everything suggested to make it work… and still nothing. After an RSV diagnosis (and 4 days in the hospital) I’m giving it 2 stars, because being able to see my son’s oxygen level allows me to get some sleep and peace. Thank goodness I opted for the “cheap” version. I can’t imagine the fury I would feel if I had a camera component to be disappointed by, too. (Ps - I’m one of those “I never write reviews” people… but after an hour of trying to get this stupid sock reconnected to our wifi - for the 3rd time this week - I figured I’d climb up on this soap box before I toss this sock in the trash.)

Product gives peace of mind but app does not work. I can confidently say this is the worst app I’ve ever used. 95% of the time it doesn’t work nimbuo writing this at 3:45 am after fighting with it for an hour because it said the base station was disconnected - the whole while it was just the app malfunctioning. That’s been the worst if it but on a typical day and use I have to quit out of the app and refresh it to get a real time reading. When that doesn’t work I switch back and forth between home and history tabs. Basically I am constantly trying different things to get the app to show me any data. This is meant to give me peace of mind but it can’t do that if it never works. I’m holding on to the fact that I think the sock still works when the app doesn’t. The sock/base station hasn’t failed to notify me when there has been a placement issue (the sock moves and isn’t reading properly) and i have been able to see data retroactively during a session so that’s comforting. But somehow when I check the history after a session ends, there is frequent loss of data/the report says there is no data for large chunks of time.

It has its flaws, but overall I’m satisfied.. My child will be one next week. We’ve had the sock/camera combo since birth. It always put my mind at ease even after we moved her into her own room at 4 months. We never had issues with the base going off unless our crappy internet provider at the time (charter spectrum) did their 3AM maintenance. I have problems however with the new update. We have recently switched internet providers to a fiber network, which has excellent connections and speed, but for some reason I cannot get the background sound to work for longer than 30 seconds at a time. If I close the app and reopen it it will work for the 20-30 seconds and then back off again. If tried reconnecting and restarting. I’m kinda at a loss. I use the background sound as a monitor in our room and without it I suppose I’ll have to switch to the basic two way system.

Too expensive for the quality. I was choosing Owlet over Nanit, but I’m starting to regret it. This app is plain terrible. I have a pretty solid AP network in my house, the base and the camera both are with 20 ft of the AP with latest and greatest wifi technology and I cannot seem to get better than “fair” wifi connection. The app crashes and sometimes it takes multiple restarts to get the video streaming going. The iPad app is a scaled up iPhone app. At this pricepoint this is a huge miss. :( UPDATE: I have a dedicated access point 1ft away from the base station and 6 ft away from the camera, dedicated WLAN set up just for this system, with proper channel definitions and still cannot get better than “fair” network connection, while having a -64dBm signal on a 2.4GHz WiFi4 network connection. Maybe it’s time to choose a more reliable partner than the Shenzen Bilian Electronic Co. Sometimes the app is just churning and churning and not showing anything. App still crashes after some time. Buyers, just get the Eufy Baby kit (I wish it came out earlier) if you want a sock and camera, it’s light years better for less money. I truly regret this purchase, I will throw this kit out as selling it would make me feel like scamming others that want their baby safe. This product needs to come off the shelves and not put back on before the issues have been fixed. You are beta testing with BABIES for God’s sake…

Do NOT keep! Return now. Update based on developer’s response: I already spoke with your “team” via chat on both the site and via the app. That is where I was informed the feature was REMOVED. What needs to be “looked into”? Why a company should provide volume control for a device that produces sound AND needs to be in close proximity to a sleeping baby? Your response was tone deaf and further justifies why I will continue to recommend all new parents stay away from your entire product line. AND the worst thing for a company is being the frustration point for a new parent with an adorable baby that will spend the next 18-24 months meeting other new parents and sharing tips, advice and recommendations. Original below: Owlet in there infinite wisdom remove the ability for users to control the audible alarm from the base station which will ALWAYS need to be in the room with your baby! That means every time the sock is not reading correctly, a still sleeping baby will hear a jarring form of Hush Little baby. The alert goes to their app already and generally the baby will be sleeping (with the loud base station) in a different room from you, so that alert ONLY manages to wake up your baby.

I hate this app. I hate this app. We had to upgrade our previous owlet app to this one. Ever since we switched the apps, we’ve had nothing but issues. The app crashes (yes, it’s updated), there are connectivity issues, you can’t hear or see anything. I like to leave the video on the background setting so even while sleeping I’ll be able to hear my little one, but this app either shuts down or doesn’t transmit the noise. Other than the app being generally terrible, I love the owlet sock. I guess the app does its job, when and if it’s working (which isn’t often). I will also say that I don’t enjoy that I can’t go back and look through the trends throughout the sleep session, something that I could do with the previous app.

Terrible. We bought the sock & monitor combo. The sock is trash and cannot keep a constant connection to the base station. The smallest of things causes it to lose signal and beep all night giving you less sleep and more false alarms, exactly what every new parent needs. The monitor, also trash. Even though my router is in the bedroom adjacent to the babies room, the connection only reads “fair” and takes several minutes to load the video image on my phone. Many times, the video feed never loads at all and I have to go check on my baby personally, which often wakes him up. Same experience on my wife’s phone. Stay away from this company at all costs! I even tried to reach out to their customer support via email link on the app… you guessed it, email bounced back and was not valid.

So. Many. Bugs. DO NOT BUY.. Great idea for a product; absolutely terrible execution. The video aspect of the monitor is fine, and sure it’s convenient to have the monitor on your phone, but the app CONSTANTLY cuts out so that half the time you don’t even have a monitor. And there’s no notice to the user when the app has cut out unless you’re actually in the app at the time, so you may think you’ve got a quiet baby when baby is actually screaming for help. To make matters worse, when you leave the app to go into another app, the monitor supposedly stays on in the background - although often enough it doesn’t - but then when you come back into the app the video freezes and needs to be restarted. So if you need to quickly flip back to the monitor because you hear a cry, you have to either wait several minutes for the video to unfreeze or close the app and restart it. Of course, a lot of the time when you restart the app it still doesn’t come back up until you’ve tried several times. This was a baby shower gift and all I can think is how terrible I feel that my friend wasted hundreds of dollars on this monitor when we could have gotten something more reliable that didn’t constantly cut out, probably for far less money.

Read this who ever is in charge Ty. This app needs work you spend so much money on this to see and hear and check the wellness of your child but the sound works when it want always freezing or camera is not loading I’m not far from my wifi hook up and pay for the best wifi and ran a test and it’s working well I’m very frustrated at least the cheaper ones keep the sound on 24/7 to know if your kid is choking coughing ext. very disappointed in the who is in charge of updating it but UPDATE IT ALREADY AND FIX IT CUTTING IN AND OUT ON THE SOUND !! Not that any of you people Who work there or big wigs will ever care to ready the feed back but it needs help at least one thing needs to be fixed i don’t care if there’s 100 updates try at least fixing 1 at a time ASAP

RSV and COVID. My 6 week old baby was airlifted to a children’s hospital due to RSV and COVID. There were quite a few variables that saved his life - the OWELET included. We were watching him closely because he wasn’t feeling well, but I think we could have mistaken him not breathing for sleeping (as there was no coughing or anything leading up to it). The Owelet was alerting so we checked him and he was turning blue. Thank you for this product. I feel like I could go on and on as it was quite the journey, but long story short: we are thankful the Owelet was on our baby that moment and still is every night. We are a one income family, but I am so relieved we decided to make this purchase (my husband said it was my birthday present - turned out to be the best gift ever). We are thankful to God for working out so many details that saved his life.

Love/Hate relationship. I love the concept of this application; being able to use it from virtually anywhere was a win for me. But we’ve experienced so many problems. For. Long time the new dream app kept constantly crashing throughout the night which made it basically useless. That seems to have gotten better but now the camera quite often goes offline for reasons I do not understand. I’ll click the button to try again and sometimes it reconnects and sometimes it doesn’t. If it reconnects, it might be good for the rest of the sleep session but there are times when it just goes offline or freezes. So many of these problems started for us when it switched from the original app to the dream app… We have spent so much money on this monitor and in so fed up with it. Honestly debating switching to a more traditional monitor so we don’t experience this issue anymore.

Camera Connection Issues. I’ve really enjoyed the sock feature on the owlet and I know it gets some hate from a lot of different places but it worked really well for us. The only issue I have is the camera disconnects or has connection problems all the time. There is so many times I can’t even check on my baby through the app because it won’t connection to the camera. I’m sure most would say it’s a Wi-Fi problem but our Wi-Fi will be working on everything else just not on the app. When it doesn’t want to connect it will usually be out for 3-4 hours before I can even try to use it again. There is also times when it’s on throughout the night and it just randomly disconnects. It’s super frustrating that I can’t rely on it to work all the time. I feel like there is so many other camera options out there that work a lot better. We do have another one for our other child that was a fraction of the price and I have never had one issue with it not working. I don’t think I will use this again for our next baby unless it gets some serious updates.

No alerts. Got our smart sock 3 as a gift prior to our son being born in 2021. Loved it. I’m a nurse and it helped me sleep knowing my baby was ok. My mom was trying to get it to work one night and it all of a sudden stopped and was converted to the “dream sock” and we could not convert back. My mom bought us another sock, thinking it was different, but that it would still alert us if his oxygen dropped. It doesn’t. Now we have 2 VERY expensive socks that don’t do what we need. Our son was recently diagnosed with asthma and is sick frequently. I cannot even sleep because i have to open the app every 10 min to check on him. Also, don’t even get me started on the horrible camera. Replaced that with a $60 camera almost immediately after it kept getting kicked offline and i couldn’t see my baby. And no 5G capability? Honestly, get it together or stop charging outrageous amounts for your products.

Great peace of mind. Some clunky aspects of the app.. The owlet app is great, especially after having a baby in the NICU for about 2 months. You get used to the monitors and the owlet provides that information for you right on your cell phone. I will say that the app is a bit awkward for the more detailed aspects of sleep quality graphs and the history tab. -The sleep quality graph doesn’t reliably generate each time the app is opened; sometimes you need to force quit and open the app several times in order to view the sleep quality graph. -The history tab inconsistently breaks apart sleep sessions between dates. Sometimes a sleep session will span two dates other times the session is included in a single date.

Terrible app. I was so excited about the dream sock, camera, and the app when I had my fist kid. For the first few months it worked great, then they completely changed the app interface for some reason. And now more than half the time I am not able to see if my kid falling asleep or not because the stupid app won’t load the video feed. Then when the video finally does come up, the sound cuts out. I like to leave the background sound on so I can hear if she cries or wakes up, but the app always shuts off 10 minutes later and I have no idea it has even shut off until I hear my kid crying down the hall. The camera and the app linking them are fundamentally flawed and do not work well together at all. Also this stupid app drains the battery on my phone so fast, it uses up 56% of my phone battery usage, triple what the next closest battery usage app on my phone uses. Do not buy this product or use the app, it is an infuriating waste of your time and money

Scam. $300 down the drain. This sock is designed to EASE our anxiety when our precious babies are sleeping. The app/sock NEVER works properly. I have the correct sock size on, the sock is on baby’s foot properly, and the app is updated. The app will have GAPs of time with no readings even though I was not notified there was no reading. Notifications are turned on. Most recently my daughter had an incident and I really needed to watch her oxygen, the app would not open, I checked the App Store and it said I did not have the app, so I deleted the app and it would not re download. Had to have my husband download it on his phone. And it still didn’t work properly on his phone! It took 45 minutes of “tracking” to finally get my baby’s oxygen level. I was finally able to get the app downloaded back on my phone after restarting my phone and we decided to compare the stats on mine and my husbands phone(he has Samsung) and the stats show different levels. I will be staying up all night watching my baby because i just can’t trust this app/sock.

App needs work…. The product is great the camera works pretty well, but the temperature sensor always seems to read uncomfortable. The app definitely needs some help though the seemed to have fixed a few things like returned the history function and got rid of the routine thankfully because the routines was crap. Few other issues is that they need to have some kind of timer on notifications so they don’t just appear and the stay on screen indefinitely until you dismiss them, such as the “sleeping peacefully” notification. When I have the app on when I’m showering and she’s sleeping sometimes it goes on and the doesn’t go away until I have to manually dismiss it. App developers if you’re listening, make that one dismiss itself after some time passes so that it goes back to the live video feed. I get it for warnings but not that one. Also, the warning about connection issues always goes on at the worst moments like right at the moment she’s dozing off which is annoying because it just keeps playing the music and the it sometimes wakes her or it’s just really annoying and far away from where I am to silence it. But overall ok once they brought back history and tossed the routines.

Please update app & fix base station issue. Our baby is 12 weeks old and we’ve been using the Owlet sock and camera since she came home and loved the set up. We had been using the Owlet Care app up until last week when the base station kept saying it was trying to connect to the sock. We would lose her readings multiple times during the night even when we repaired the sock and the station and checked the connection. We thought the app was out of date so we downloaded the Owlet Dream and the issues continue…the app constantly crashes which means we have no readings, camera or sound when that happens in the night. We are still getting error messages saying the base station is trying to connect or is offline (though the camera still works). The Owlet Dream app doesn’t show readings when you take it to full screen and you can’t go back to see the previous nights’ history of awake/light sleep/deep sleep. Owlet’s support team told us THE APP WASN’T MEANT TO BE KEPT ON ALL NIGHT, which is why it is crashing (!!!) For $400 I should be able to keep this app and product running as long as I want to give me peace of mind my child is okay. I might as well just buy a normal baby monitor…

App Fixes. I love the dream sock, the stats I’m able to see, and the peace of mind. HOWEVER for the price of the sock, I expected a lot more from the app. For example, none of the sleep sessions are separated, even though the sock is taken off between sessions. The section below the health stats titled sleep quality is counting my daughters last nap of the day from 2 days ago, her sleep that night, all of the naps the next day and now her second night of sleep as one session. The app has done this before, but it typically resets at some point. I really hate that when this happens I’m unable to see how long she was in each stage of sleep for as that stat is helpful for us. Instead, her session is accounting for 30+ hours. Again, I love everything about the sock and the features of the app, they are just not executed well and need technical tweaks. Yes I did update the app. My session is still over 30 hours long. There is no way to manually edit it, as this is under sleep quality on the home page and not the history section.

Horribly inconsistent. With the latest update the video has become horribly inconsistent either stating that the camera is offline or not even a message at all, just a blank screen. We also have the Dream Sock and the inconsistent video connection makes us wonder if the sock is actually inconsistently monitoring our child during sleep as well. Within our house we have multiple devices (iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro as well as an older device running iOS 15) and they all have the same issue. The network is a top of the line Eero 6E connected to a 500mb connection. No other devices within our home (within the nursery or not) experience similar issues leading us to conclude it is either bad hardware of bad software from Owlet. Very disappointing for a $400 purchase. Would not recommend.

App closes throughout the night. I used the owlet baby monitor and sock with my first child three years ago. I bought the new updated version for our second child and the experience has been horrible. The app will shut down if a asleep or awake notification from the sock comes through and is not dismissed. Sometimes we will be asleep and get these notifications and the Apple shut down and so we are no longer monitoring our child unknowingly. I feel that this is extremely dangerous since the whole reason why you have a monitor is to alert you for your babies needs. I have tried to troubleshoot this for several months with my baby being five months old now. I have talked to countless technical support members, and none of them have given me an answer, except for “sorry. Really disappointed, and I will let, but our first experience was stellar. That’s a little rough or you think that’s. A review of the app on an apple I feel like I have nowhere else to like air my grievances on star. I have been able to find a workaround by assigning the sock to another child…for some reason if the camera and sock are not associated those prompts will not close the app. Now I just have to toggle between the two “children”, one to view the camera and the other to view the sock stats.

More bugs after update. I updated my app today since the version was released 12 hours ago and now we are back to the camera disconnecting while I have the app open with the error that the camera is disconnected. I have to open and close the app multiple times to get the camera feed to reconnect. Audio: will go out intermittently and again have to hard close the app multiple times to get it back up. Camera: freezes. If my app is open I never know if I’m getting an actual live feed so again have to hard close and reopen and hope I don’t get the no connection error. Can’t review the sock as we stopped using due to too many glitches and alarms about placement no matter what we did. For the amount of money paid for this product you would hope a quality app comes with it. For baby number two we have went with another brand that has a handheld monitor and was cheaper

Perte d’argent!. Camera connection issues. Camera very often is offline and will not connect - so much so that I had to purchase another back up camera from another company because I could not rely on this one to connect when I needed to check on my baby. Disappointing considering the cost of the equipment.

Horrible. I love the sock but this app literally has me pulling my hair out every day. It closes on its own every night, the camera glitches and freezes almost constantly and I have to reset the camera almost 5 times a night. This means going into my sleeping infants room and risking waking them up to try and get the camera working again. I’ve never been so frustrated with something in my life.

Garbage. Horrible connectivity, camera useless, sock close to useless. Do not buy - wish I had taken the warnings

Can I give less than 1 star??. Can I give less than 1 star?? App is terrible and costumer service is a joke just spent 30 minutes with they’re live chat to have them just tell me it’s my fault for either not connecting it properly or having bad wifi and then they hung up on me hen I refused to not blame them

App comparability could be better.. I really loved the product while it worked. However, they no longer are creating their apps to be comparable with older product which was frustrating. Great product however felt short lived for how expensive it is.

Good camera but crashes, doesn’t notify. When it works, it works. Since the Dec 12 or 13th update, the camera doesn’t work at all. A big 0. Happened with someone I know also ; not a “me” problem. Prior to that, the app didn’t (and still doesn’t) notify us when our little one is crying, even if our phone and app settings are on. Quality of the camera is exceptional, when it works. Disappointed.

Barely ever connects to wifi. We have a wifi station right outside the room and the camera can’t connect 80% of the time. Bought a different wifi camera and has no problems. Such a waste of money.

Camera won’t connect & disconnects. If you try to leave the app open while charging beside you at night or during the day during a nap it will disconnect after 10-15 mins. You need to constantly go and close the app and reopen it, which works half the time and the other half the camera won’t connect! Save yourself money and frustration and just buy another baby monitor!

Too slow to load. I’m frustrated it’s too slow to load. It seems even slower at night.

I wish I never got this camera. If I could swear on this review I would say this product is ******* ****. I have it setup and feel tied to it now, but am this close to ripping it off the wall and burning it!!! I am once again trying to get it to connect. The App is terrible, the camera is terrible. It just doesn’t want to be reliable or consistent. Support is brutal and blames on my network, even tho I am running a Ubiquiti stack with enough APs to handle a small campus. Honestly, figure this out or fold as a company already. If anyone is reading this review, buy a different product, save yourself the frustration.

Love, But Room For Improvement!. I have been using the Owlet Dream Sock with my baby for the last couple of nights. So far I really really enjoy it! I like being able to view all the updates in the app such as heart rate, movement, etc. The only improvement I would suggest is that the Owlet Dream Sock and app be available to more than one cellphone at once. I would like it if my partner was able to use the app as well.

We all need a refund. The reviews speak for itself. This is a baby monitor, our children’s lives. I have had cheap Chinese amazon models work better than this. There should be a warranty for you to return and get your money back since both the product and customer service is so terrible. DO NOT BUY.

Not Dependable. Constantly drops video and is very laggy. Using this as a monitor at night is very worrisome as you never know if it’s going to disconnect leaving your baby helpless to call out for you.

Sad it’s gone downhill. Camera quality seems to have gone downhill? Which is strange because I haven’t changed cameras is it an app issue? Also I doesn’t show averages of oxygen on sleep reports either. And it takes forever to reload and see what’s going on. Super laggy!

The app doesn’t work reliably. With the last update the app keeps disconnecting from the camera. This happened many times before. Please make this reliable.

Horrible app. Doesn’t log my baby’s sleep stats in the app. Can only see the current stats while she’s wearing the sock, when I open the app. How can you market better sleep when you can’t even see the stats of the nights your baby wears the sock? I was excited for this product, but it’s been a huge waste of money.

Dream Sock. We have had this for approximately 3 weeks! We got it as our baby has some cardiac issues and I wanted to have the peace of mind that we had everything documented night by night, also for the sleep trends. I loved seeing his heart rate, his sleep status and his activity at a specific time, but it all of a sudden went away. We can only see the sleep trend now, no longer his HR or activity. It’s disappointing really! Also the app will sometimes glitch and not register that the sock has been returned to the dock. Definitely need these bugs fixed before it gets a better rating!

Unstable App. The app is as unstable as it gets. We typically have it on for a few hours in the evening, and it always crashes at least three or four times. It “game-ifies” when the baby is sleeping peacefully, which means a message screen comes up on screen that will not go away unless you dismiss it, taking away the video monitoring until you do. The new live “scrubbing” of the deep sleep/light sleep/awake patterns only actually works a fraction of the time: it sometimes doesn’t come up on screen at all, or sometimes it crashes the app if you try to access it. Overall I don’t think I’ve ever used an app this latent with bugs and flaws, and the developers should be ashamed.

Keeps disconnecting in the middle of the night. We have been using the sock for the past 8 months but have been having issues lately with the socks that keeps disconnecting in the middle of the night. Baby sleeps through the night, but the sock keeps us up all night… which is really annoying.

Horrible. Worked for the first month and for some reason it won’t connect anymore and I tried to contact support and my emails keep being sent back!

Save your money. We were so excited for the owlet with our first child, unfortunately it ended up being a waste of our money. Connection is always going in and out, when my son wore the sock the alarm would constantly go off when he was sleeping, because it disconnected. The monitor has the same connection issues. Reached out to customer support, was told it was our wifi.

Hope you don’t like seeing the camera. Constantly saying it’s offline with good wifi strength. Never can get it to work. Daughter is sick and can’t see her. Will be going to buy different brand.

Deteriorating Service. Since iOS 16 the camera has dipped to 1 to 2 frames per second making watching my baby a lot more like a gif than video. Connection takes about 2 minutes which is an eternity when opening the app to find out what the noise you just heard was.

Do Not Purchase. This camera disconnects repeatedly, it freezes and goes offline. The main function should be to monitor the baby and it fails at this miserably. Would not recommend. I will be looking for an alternative solution.

Connectivity issues & servers are always crashing and. Great camera when it works…which is hit or miss. Their servers crash OFTEN and there are always connectivity issues. Buy something else, this isnt worth the money!

Overall bad experience; lots of stress. Like many other reviews, video is severely delayed and audio cuts out. The app is always stuck loading for extended periods and have to always kill and restart the app. Causes a lot of stress when you want to quickly check in on your little one. I would not recommend this to anyone. Steer clear, find a better alternative.

App is not reliable!!. I love the owlet dream sock for that extra peace of mind, and the camera generally works well, but the app is pretty terrible. Crashes constantly so not reliable for night time, no ability to monitor two at once (which I assumed it did and was part of the reason I bought it), unable to adjust settings at all, and it shows you messages saying basically ‘your baby is sleeping, congrats!’ that takes over the whole screen so you can’t see your child anymore or it changes the screen from one kid to another when one kid wakes up, which sometimes I’d prefer to shut off. I really hope they’re working on fixing these bugs and inefficiencies in the app.

Not what it used to be. I don’t know if it’s from the updates or what - it never loads anymore, it doesn’t show her sleep pattern anymore I have to log it now, and it constantly “connects” and just refreshes. I used to lose this app but it’s not the same and I find it just frustrates me the more I use it. I loved the smart sock and that I could track but now it just seems unreliable which sucks because I bought it for peace of mind while my child sleeps. The last thing I want is unreliability.

History not saving. I just got the owlet sock yesterday due to a scare that involved calling 911 for my newborn. Got this device to help prevent any other scares and give me piece of mind at night, however my babies sleep information is not saving. I’ve tried everything, I followed the owlet instructions online but nothing seems to make it save. When she cried it started to alarm and showed I had a notification but no where on the app could I actually see the notification or read what it said. This thing is causing me just as much stress as not having it spending every waking second trying to fix it.

Latest update’s bug. Since the latest update, speaker on vs background is no difference. When on speaker on, there are occasions that sounds starts to playing even the app is minimized.

Not dependable. App constantly crashes and disconnects. Support didn’t help or seem to care. Purchased another monitor for our peace of mind.

Awful awful Awful app for a $400 sock. This app has so many problems that I don’t even know where to begin. If the sock was <$100, i’d be more understanding, but for $400, these are inexcusable. - every single page takes 5-10 seconds to load. That means when you take your baby slightly out of range, it can take 15 seconds to turn off the alarm - back buttons don’t register half the time - each time you take off the sock for the day, you lose historical data. Something I think they fixed in a recent update, but dear lord was that annoying. - notifications just stopped working one day (yes, notifications are enabled in my settings). So i have to rely on the device sound which is hard to hear in other parts of my home. I have to get angry calls from my partner to tell me to turn off the base station. - pop ups that block what you’re trying to do (like when it’s alarming, and i open up the app, i don’t need a pop up telling me that. I need to turn off the base station NOW. oh great, now my baby’s awake because it took 15 seconds to close the pop up. - constant issues with the sock connecting to the device, or for the app to recognize it. UnPlugging and plugging the device back in fixes these issues most of the time, but having to do this 1-2x per week? Cmon. Seriously, going from one page to another in the app seems like it’s making a network call halfway around the world. Whyyyyyyyy This is on an iphone x using ios 15 and 16.

Camera disconnects. Camera disconnects frequently and lags a lot. I also always have issues with the sound and motion notifications.. lately they never work and i am never notified if my baby is moving or crying so i just keep background sound on 24/7 or else i wont be notified. The sound notifications were also broken at one stage and continuously went off even when there was no sound. It seems every week there is a new issue with this app. Its very frustrating

Do not buy. Our sock sensor disconnects and alarms in the middle of the night when my baby is sound asleep. It would lose connection all the time and night. The Customer care team is horrible at helping you and will delay responding to you. They sent me links to fix it the device myself. It took them weeks to finally send me a new sensor and when that didn’t work they made me go through all the same links again to try fixing it. I’m currently being told I’m getting a new base station but that was two weeks ago and they haven’t sent it to me. It’s a very unprofessional company with poor training of their staff. This device added so much stress and anxiety when our baby was born. Please, Read all the poor reviews and if you’re still going to buy it, wait until your baby is born to purchase. You only have about 30 days to get a refund. It’s a complete Waste of money and created so much added stress with having a newborn. I wouldn’t recommend this device to anyone.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. Go buy any other monitor for 25% of the cost of this. Use the savings to reward yourself for not using this device. Doesn’t even load 70% of the time, Sound goes in and out, this camera has such good reviews online ? Hmm how, I guess someone dropped a bunch of money on advertisements and paid for reviews…… if my camera doesn’t load 70% of the time for me to see my son. Then what good is this… literally had to buy another monitor as our main… the bright side is I can check in once in a while. When I’m at work and my wife puts our son down to nap. That is only when the app does work… ooh look that’s the only reason this app gets 1 star. Fix your product. It’s too expensive for what it does. It causes headaches when this designed to help ease the mind of parents. I can go on and on, I could think of many different options that would prove more useful than this pos So until you improve your service. I suggest no one uses this device… if you’re not going to fix your stuff send everyone their money back.

Slow and annoying. Sure it gives me the information I want, but facing a barrage of full screen notifications before I can actually use the app is a nuisance. Those include: sleeping, awake, low battery. Just show me those as a small icon maybe? Don’t hijack my whole screen to tell me that.

Terrible app! Do not buy this.. I’m honestly shocked at how terrible this app is! Takes forever to load and when it finally does the data is incorrect. The sleep times are off. The video quality is really bad even when using the HD option. The picture and audio are delayed, very laggy. Notifications are off and the app crashes when trying to dismiss them. Do not get this product! You would think that they would invest more on their app given the price. Just terrible!!

Not working very well since the last update. The camera is regularly struggling to connect since the last update. It wasn’t amazing before it was passable. My recommendation for people would be to get a dedicated monitor.

Never works when you want. Worked fine for about 1 week. Half the time the app doesn’t work, and since there is no where else to view the camera feed (hardwired viewing option), you’re stuck needing a substitute that works. In other words, but another brand that functions. Updates are out so often, yet they can’t fix the problem. Do not buy this product.

Connectivity issues/app closing. It’s really frustrating that it doesn’t work a lot of the time and needs to be rebooted. Also, when I keep the app open it will close after a period of time and return to my phone background (my screen is set to NOT turn off). This makes it very annoying in the night to not be able to view the monitor screen at all times. The app is simple to use and has helpful information. The sleep tracker/timer is also handy.

NOT AN OXYGEN MONITORING DEVICE****. Let me just put this in asterisks to prevent someone from spending 500$ like we did on a device that was updated not to give us the data we wanted. The owlet dream sock used to provide live HR and O2 monitoring with dream information, now it only reports sleep quality. Why does it have anything to do with O2 & HR then? To determine sleep quality... it will NOT alert you if your baby's O2 or HR go out of bounds. It will give you an average O2(over 10 minutes) but even if the average is low it will not send an alert for O2. Theoretically it may send an alert for compromised sleep. My daughter has been wearing this since she was 6 days old, because it used to give us O2 readings... it has never alerted poor sleep quality until she was 9 months old. Which seems inaccurate. Overall I'm not satisfied. It's cool to see her sleep lengths but not what I purchased this for in early 2022.

Poor quality. App crashes. Volume goes in and out. Very disappointing

Embarrassingly bad tech. I used to have the owlet sock and camera 4 years ago for our first and it was much better than the sock 3 and dream app which are an absolute disgrace for the price. The bugs are so numerous and the deficiencies are so many that it should actually be illegal for them to charge what they charge for a product that works so inconsistently - especially as it pertains to the well being of a CHILD. It is quite clear that they are not taking any pride in this work.

Camera disconnects often. Camera disconnects often

Just Awful. Anybody that has given this app 5 stars has been paid to do so. The camera is 15 feet from my WIFI booster and maybe works 20% of the time. During that 20% the sound and camera constantly drops. Buy a cheap nanny cam as this has been a giant waste of money.

Owlet monitor. I have been using this monitor for almost 2 years. It was working perfectly. At night I leave it on “background”. Since I updated (March 2023) it will shut off… so no monitor coverage and I don’t realize until it’s too late. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I loved this monitor but will no longer be recommending unless this can be fixed.

Pairing fails repeatedly. So far we’ve only been able to pair the cam once and it took about an hour trying repeatedly and eventually it worked, no changes or different tactics. The app is generally slow and a few seconds delayed but otherwise fine when working. For the price of the device, I expected a lot better. Would not recommend and am likely going to need to buy a different device since it’s pretty useless if the app doesn’t work properly..

Don’t buy. They’re Not doing anything to fix this app. No notifications, camera feed drops. Forget about the sound being ok either. Worst baby item by far.

Fix your product!!!. The app constantly tells me “connecting” and that I need to put the sock on to start a session while the sock is on correctly. We are within range and there is nothing wrong with my wifi. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve tried all the connecting correction tricks I’ve seen throughout the internet and I’ve unplugged the base and restarted the app multiple times. It continues to sing and notify me of connecting issues even when the sock isn’t working to start with. This thing is so irritating!! When it works, I love it because it gives me peace of mind during the night. But I can’t get this connection issue to stop. For something that is so incredibly expensive and that is supposed to help parents relax and monitor their baby, this thing should work. I’m so irritated.

Totally unreliable product. An overpriced webcam.. You can’t trust this product when it comes to child safety. The app is totally unreliable. Anytime we switch back over from another application on our phones back to view the monitor the video feed will be frozen, often times having to close and reopen the app. Right now our son is sick and not feeling well - the app crashed in the middle of the night while he was crying out for attention for over 30 - 45 minutes that we didn’t realize because this baby monitor is completely unreliable. Way too expensive or a product to not be able to trust it. Spend your money on a dedicated product, not one that is this buggy.

Horrendous. I have never left a review on an app in my life, but I had to for this. This is the worst app I’ve quiet literally ever used & this camera was NOT cheap. I’m so sad that I bought this & not something that actually, you know, works. I bought this obviously to keep an eye on my daughter in her crib but I’ll be lucky if out of the 10 times I open it a day, if it loads ONCE. The app just forever spins & will say the camera is offline. I’ve rebooted it at least 30 times since owning it & nothing helps. The temperature never reads near what it actually is. Absolutely pathetic & the company & people who run the app should be embarrassed to sell this junk.

Unreliable and confusing. The design of the app is pretty good—it just doesn’t work half the time. There are blocks of time in the night that the Owlet was on my child and it just stops recording data. I wonder, was it even monitoring him?! For several hours I was kind of counting on the peace of mind owlet gives, but now I’m not so sure I should ever trust it. Also, we have the camera as well and half the time it won’t connect. And there is a long delay between real time and what it’s displaying. Like 10-20 seconds at least. That’s a long time when you are trying to see a baby’s activity because it changes so rapidly. They really need to put more time into QC and product development.

Needs a update. I had the original owlet back in 2018 and loved it never had a issue. Now I’ve had twins and decided to get two dream socks and have issues every night. When you have newborns and it’s not one baby but two and your barely getting sleep as it is and the sock decides in the middle of the night to go off because it has no connection it’s annoying especially cause it wakes them up or me who just finally fell back to sleep. After paying 500 for two socks that barely stay connected I’d say it’s not worth it. Hopefully they can figure it out and get a update on the app and base.

Unreliable and super glitchy.. I honestly regret putting this camera on my registry. We’ve been using the Owlet camera for 8 months now and it has consistently disappointed us. Like other parents who purchased this camera and use the app, I feel like I’m constantly trouble shooting my app due to audio glitches, constant pinwheel loading icon, randomly saying I’m disconnected etc…The list goes on. I’m constantly having to restart the audio/shutdown the app in hopes of getting it to work. I thought it was my wifi connection, but we literally moved a satellite to be placed directly beside the camera and it still says the connection is “fair”… like what? Honestly save yourself the headache and anxiety. Get a different camera and app.

Old App Was Better. I love the sock, the sock saves me massive amounts of anxiety. It’s a tool, not a guarantee of anything so use it accordingly. The app isn’t great frankly, there are features from the old app that I miss. For example, when there was an alert on the old app you could click in to it and find the alert in the app and review it. If you click the notification now it opens the app but there’s no where to review the notifications. Also, once she wakes up and we put the sock back on the base, there’s no where to review how many wake ups and when they were? Those seem like pretty important features. I hope they’re just still working on the app and are planning on bringing those back.

The worst. This app never works properly. If it’s not one thing it’s another. The old app was great and always worked wonderfully for me. But this one always has problems. Now I have to go in and manually stop the sleep time or it keeps running even on the charger, once input into the system it no longer tells you the sleep quality and today it’s giving me an hour of unknown while she was wearing it. It’s always glitching and just never works well. They should have left it like it was. The only thing I like about this new app is the sleep window prediction. It’s helped with scheduling, but that could have been added as an update to the old app. This one is just horrible. Would not recommend. Not reliable at all.

Loving it so far.. My son is only 3 weeks old but we use the camera and the dream sock every night. We’re loving it so far it really gives a piece of mind when we go to sleep. I would love if the app developers could possibly make an app for the Apple Watch or other smart watches that way I don’t have to constantly look at my phone. It would be nice just to just take a quick look at my watch while I’m up moving around. Just a thought though.

The old version was much better. I was required to update my owlet app to this version a few weeks ago and I’ve had nothing but issues with it since. 1. The app takes awhile to load every time I open it and sometimes it won’t ever load. 2. The sound only works about 50% of the time. I leave the app open all night to hear if my son wakes up. He has a sound machine and the app will cut in and out creating a very disturbing noise in the middle of the night. This wakes me up way more than he does. 3. The app will close randomly in the middle of the night. I never had any of these problems with the previous app.

Lots of Glitches Lately. The app is fine in terms of user functionality. It’s very easy to navigate and understand. However, I’ve had many issues with glitches in the past six months. I’ve even deleted and re-uploaded the app to try and rectify the issue. The last thing I want to do after spending an hour putting my kid to bed is troubleshoot an app! Also… please, please, please, create an app just for the iPad. No parent wants to use their phone solely to watch their kid sleep. It would be nice to use my phone for other things while I have my child visible (and hopefully sleeping) via iPad.

App Needs Work. Cool concept, when it works. App constantly crashes. I’ll wake up in the middle of the night to find out the the app had crashed. I usually leave the app open on my phone with the sound on so I can monitor my son through the night. Plus the camera signal comes in and out. At times it says the camera is offline and cannot connect even though other devices connect to the Wi-Fi just fine. I’ve had to reconnect the camera to the Wi-Fi a few times already. Good thing I left my other camera up otherwise there would be times I wouldn’t have a monitor at all since this camera is not reliable.

Progressively gets worse. When we first used the app it was an immediate upgrade from a no name brand we had prior. Camera & sound always worked through the night. After a few months, we’re lucky if we can get either to work for more than 10mins without it completely going out. We often have to sneak into our kids room at night to unplug & replug the camera back in for it to temporarily start working again. If you’re looking for some comfort in being able to monitor your kids I advise you to find another provider. This will build up your confidence and in short time tear it down to the ground. Save your money and pass, it’s not worth the stress.

Current parameters=brain damage. The owlet company’s current low parameter for O2 saturation is 80%. Your child’s blood oxygen will need to be below 80% before owlet will alert you. Do you also happen to know at what blood oxygen brain damage begins to occur? Below 80%……. Current recommendations state an infants pulse ox should NEVER drop below 90%. If it is below 90% there is an issue that needs to be addressed, warranting professional medical evaluation I.e. doctor visit and possibly hospitalization. Owlet just wants to let you know there’s a problem, AFTER brain damage begins to occur. 10% below the known minimum limit of 90%. What’s the point of a device that tracks blood oxygen if it doesn’t tell you when there isn’t enough? There is no other value to this measurement, except to know when it is low!!!

Yikes. We have great WiFi. Our issues are not related to our WiFi. My husband and I both have to force close the app every time we want to use it multiple times to get it to work. If it’s not on our screen the whole time, it doesn’t work. The background sound often cuts off so that renders what should be a great tool completely useless. I’ve heard my baby crying in his room from the living room before I heard it come through my phone. When I set it to notify me for movement or sound, it doesn’t notify me until 20 minutes AFTER my baby has been crying and I’ve already comforted him. I wish I hadn’t put this on my registry. What a colossal waste of money.

Listen to the reviews - APP DOES NOT WORK. I’m one of the many parents who barely has time to write a review, but here I am at 2am writing one. If you’re looking for peace of mind, this is not the product for you. The app constantly malfunctions and/or doesn’t connect so that you’re unable to hear and see baby. I’ve always had a cheap noise monitor as my reliable source to hear the baby if he wakes up. Basically this expensive product becomes the back up to my $25 monitor because it’s completely unreliable. Honestly, I’m shocked this company can still sell its product given the fact it only works a small percentage of the time.

Squandered potential (good hardware, bad app). When it works, it’s great, but sadly it fails to work far too often, and with the price tag on the hardware, it’s more than fair to expect the software to be top tier. Specifically the camera and sound monitor part just fails on us randomly basically every day. (Will say the dream sock monitoring has been pretty consistent, this alone earns the one star.) This just doesn’t measure up to our expectations. We’ve also had to use a different cable to get it to work at least some times, which means we miss out on the temperature and humidity monitoring. A lot of potential here if they can work out the bugs… but it’s been 6 months… and that hasn’t happened. So one star it is for you, Owlet app. (The customer support experience has also been maddening to say the least - no accountability, asking for unnecessary info, and when you get disconnected having a new agent when you reconnect with no knowledge of your situation, even though they have your account info…agents are nice enough but the system is just broken, just like the camera functionality of the app.)

App doesn’t work. You have people that supported you through the FDA drama, then you provide an app that doesn’t even work. Before update, it constantly crashed and the camera was a little glitchy. Now after the update, the app closes on its own in the middle of the night, so you wake up and hear your baby screaming from the next room. Then you try to open the app to look at baby and it just says Try Again over and over. I’m very disappointed considering I’ve gotten a couple of my pregnant friends to purchase. I’m going to tell them to return, I bragged so much about the sock / camera. I have to use a backup monitor, so what’s the point? Upsetting, honestly.

Nervous first time dad.. I wanted this tech device like I wanted all novel and interesting techs, because it was cool. We had a category for monitor so I put it in. This device beat out Cubo AI, and with the addiction of the Cam2, it was a bo brainer. It wasn’t until I had the sock on in between naps that I knew the Owlet was special. I was burping my 6 day old following a feed during the night. Her face ended up smashed into this young dads bare chest. I didn’t notice. The docking station flashed a purple alert and my two phones went off together to inform me my baby girl’s “sleep position” was “uncomfortable” and that I should check her. Unsure what that could be I took her off my chest and she instantly inhaled as if she was returning from a 100ft free dive. If it weren’t for this sock… 11/10 Would sponsor national legislation to have these be provided to all new parents. F. The FDA…

This app has given. My wife and i issues from the first day. This use to be a good app along with the camera and sock. Now that the app has changed from Owlet Care to Owlet Dream we can only use the app on our iPhones. Meaning, if we want to monitor the camera during a cat nap it can only be done on your iPhone but if you also have work you need to do while your baby is sleeping don’t even try. That right there alone makes this app trash. We use to be able to monitor on any device including PC’s. Not anymore. Ive written an email to the company several times but nothing has come of it. My iPad and computer are both up to date on the software. The old app is way better.

Over the past 2 years, the app as went to crap.. We have been using the owlet app and products for 2 years and the quality of the app has went downhill; not to mention that customer service is a joke. It is constantly cutting out on audio or dropping audio all together. The video is also constantly choppy. We have 100 mbps for download speed on our internet and it rarely goes out so this is not a connectivity issue. I attempted to explain this to customer service and was sent to an FAQ page after answering their 5 random questions, which was largely unhelpful. After my experience, I’d advise new parents to find a different product and brand to use.

THE APP IS TRASH. Would be great if the app would actually work and I could see my daughter on the monitor and see her readings. The camera is SO lagged- like 10 minutes behind the handful of times it does work and it’s constantly saying “no connection”. Same with the base station. It connects and disconnects randomly, I just fought with the thing forever trying to connect it to Wi-Fi, Whole time the problem is the stupid app!! I try to refresh the app, close out of it, delete and re install, I even unpaired the camera and base station and re paired them to see if that would help. No. The app is trash and I can’t believe you guys charge so much money for a product that doesn’t work!! Throwing this thing away and ordering a vetch monitor.

Good in theory, trash in practice. Love the idea of the sock and think it could be executed well if the app has an overhaul. The history doesn’t work 99% of the time, and I learned only AFTER purchasing that if you’re in the US you don’t get alerts for low oxygen levels (which was our main reason to purchase for peace of mind while we sleep). The only alerts you will receive are for sock placement or connectivity issues, which, great, but not the peace of mind we were looking for. Also, the live readings constantly disappear and we have to force close the app and restart in order to load them. The app is just SO clunky. We want to love this but it needs some big improvements.

Fix the app. When buying an almost $400 set (Dream Sock and Camera) I really expect quality of experience. The app has been so glitchy for the past couple of weeks and imagine my surprise when I hear a small sound from the bedroom but nothing on my phone, go into the app and the camera isn’t working! And when it is working, the delay is SIGNIFICANT! I’m talking 10-45 seconds delay! We pay good money to keep tabs on our precious little babies and its unreliable! I am disappointed that the Dream Sock doesn’t function like the Smart Sock; but I won’t hold Owlet responsible for that one (thanks FDA….). I will hold them responsible for their products and app to function properly.

Waste of Money. The idea of being able to monitor your babies heart rate and oxygen level is great. But the app the terrible. The app is constantly crashing and takes forever to load when it works. I’ve tried to email the tech support using the link in the app and I got an email back saying that the email address doesn’t exist. The camera is blurry and only loads half the time so don’t count on using that for a monitor. There used to be helpful information on the guide tab with links to articles that were actually helpful but now it says about 2 sentences for your babies age and that’s it. Will not be recommending this product to anyone.

App is terrible. I bought the Owlet for piece of mind, but without fail it will always stop working at the worst times. The camera often won’t load, the graphs freeze all the time despite killing the app, and the alarm will go off randomly with “connection issues” when everything else in our house works perfectly on the wifi. The app has to be up all the time or you can’t have the sound/video on. All incredibly frustrating for the cost. The only reason for the second star is that when the camera does work, the image is high quality. Save your money and go with a different system. Wouldn’t purchase again and would switch systems if they all weren’t so expensive.

Horrible since the update. I only just stared using this product about three - four weeks ago. It worked pretty great (even when working great not worth the price in my honest opinion, but was a registry gift so I was more than content to own and use this!). HOWEVER since the last update, the camera is garbage. When you open the app it now some times takes over 2-3 minutes to load the feed. No mom at 2AM needs that. It has been forcing me to go into the room to check on my baby because the app simply doesn’t work or lags. It used to have a few second delay and now it’s about a full 60 seconds! Horrible update DO NOT PURCHASE

No history. If you are currently downloading this app because you just bought the camera and are all excited. Do yourself a favor and quickly return it and get your money back! The app is terrible, it doesn’t show you the readings correctly. Is terrible and I almost feel like I’ve been scammed to think I was going to get readings and I’m not getting what I was under the impression o was getting. All these data cannot be show in the history section? Even the sleep number bed gives you historical information being captured. The app is terrible, lots of glitches with the sock. The app I do t even know where to begin with to tell people the app is THAT BAD!

App needs work. Here are the items I’ve noticed: 1. The app often crashes in the middle of the night meaning that I can’t leave it open to access the camera and the sound to hear if our child has woken up and is crying. 2. The camera is often crashing, which forces me to restart the app 3. The sleep quality does not appear on the home page without toggling between tabs in the app 4. Camera is often sending false notifications regarding movement in the room and we can’t see any recordings of this activity to identify the root cause 5. The sock does not have a customizable timer for when it is not getting readings - which means we are having to listen to the mockingbird song every time we put it on and take it off due to the length of our routine. All together, the sock gives us peace of mind but the camera and the app are in need of significant improvements.

Where is the data?. With recent updates, the app no longer shows anything other than “sleep status” in the current sleep or any of the history. It is advertised in the main photos on the app page, but are no longer available. That is the reason for spending so much money to buy the product. It also doesn’t show the sleep status in the home window unless you click on the history page and then go back. Seems like coding for the app should default to have that shown. For the price of the sock, I expected more out of the app and am highly disappointed that the dream sock is no where near the previous version that is no longer available for purchase.

Works sometimes. Thought it was great at first- now my app is frozen- I have delete the app altogether on my phone and re downloaded it- still nothing - doesn’t let me click on account or an of the icons - and it doesn’t even show the camera - just the sock- which just says “ connecting” but it doesn’t- the only thing I didn’t care for when it worked was if my phone screen shut off so did the app so if she was crying in her room I couldn’t see or hear her anyway - I will probably have to buy another one - which is unfortunate since this one was pretty spendy.

App has gotten worse and worse. My son was born 2 months ago and we’ve been using the sock since we brought him home. In the beginning the app worked great, then slowly but surely it began to malfunction- not saving history, stating the base station is disconnected (even when the lights on the back show it’s connected). Now the app won’t even load. It says the sock has been removed and when I try to get it reconnected the app just crashes. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading thinking the app was out of date but no such luck. For how much money we paid for the device, one would think the app would function better.

Works well except for bedtime. My wife and I have been enjoying the owlet sock and camera and it honestly does everything we need it to. The only thing that worries us are the notifications aren’t very loud and it doesn’t wake us up at night when we receive sound or movement notifications. It would be helpful to be able to change the notification sounds or something so we can feel confident if something happens we would be woken up by the monitor system.

App is slow. I love the entire idea of the sock, it has been extremely helpful for my anxiety. However, when loading the app - it’s takes 3-6 minutes to just get a reading on my little one. The app reads “connecting to base” or “app is searching for base”. I’ve checked my internet connection. I am in the same room with the base. I am unsure of the delay. Also, the delay with the history. Sometimes it’s immediately and other times the app is 1-3 hours behind in history. Lastly, I think you should include oxygen levels in your history reports - this would be extremely helpful for parents attempting to monitor their little ones oxygen when they are sick.

Awful, buy a different baby cam.. I worked in tech previous to my current job, this camera and app is terrible to set up. Even ring cameras are easier to set up. Took 2 hours out of my Saturday because of erroneous errors that required me to restart the app. Poor functionality— you can’t go into landscape mode while holding your phone vertically. So, I have to unlock my iPhone orientation every time I want to see the entire crib. NOW, we there is no night vision, apparently that’s a problem? Also, it loads very slow. Nothing like waiting 10 seconds for the camera to display a picture after opening the app. That won’t work. What a joke.

Peace of Mind. After my baby being in the NICU for two months, it was scary to bring him home without him being monitored. The Owlet was absolutely the best purchase I’ve ever made. My anxiety lessened because this gave me peace of mind. I was able to sleep at night knowing if he was having problems, the Owlet would notify me. Simple to use, simple to set up. Worth every penny and I tell everyone to get one if they are an anxious mom like me. I cannot express enough how much I love this item.

HISTORY!. Overall the app is nice for peace of mind. I like to watch it live while i’m going to bed. However, for over a MONTH now the sleep history has been all sorts of messed up. Sometimes i can see a few minutes of history but most nights i can only see sleep pattern. No heart rate and oxygen charts. I contacted support multiple times and have just been told to wait for the app update to be available which is usually every 3-4 weeks. Again, overall i do love the app, history or not, but i did not pay so much money to not see any history!

Buggy App. I expect a better quality app from such an expensive device, especially when it’s to monitor your infant child. Previously, the sleep session would only appear in Home after switching to History and then back. Now, it appears in home, but everything in home is constantly refreshing. Background audio does not work consistently. No controls on audio volume. With background audio, this is important to make sure the monitor is audible over foreground audio. Cannot set camera zoom lock. I want to focus on the area of the screen where my child is. Default to the old zoom settings. Similarly, motion detection zones. When the mobile slowly dangles, it triggers motion detection. I don’t want to know about that area. Sleep History is currently broken. Needs a feature to disable notifications at certain times, or if there isn’t a sleep session. Overall, this app needs some features, but mainly needs quality control.

Camera constantly offline. We have the version 1 owlet cam. It goes offline about once a week over the past year, which gets me in trouble every time. I basically need to restart it and get it to join the network, or some variation of a basic reboot sequence. The camera feed is otherwise slow to pull up. The sound detection and motion detection notifications are erratic, either ignoring our baby screaming or notifying us when a truck drives by. Before this, we were using the owlet sock, and false alarms gave my wife so much anxiety that we stopped using it. Overall, I can’t recommend this company’s products. They just don’t work reliably at all.

Terrible - bring back the old app and sock. This app and new sock are completely useless. I used to be able to review my son’s stats easily and quickly with the old app and sock. It stopped working suddenly and my son was sick and his breathing needs to be monitored so we ran out and bought this new version and I can’t see his heart rate or breathing status at all and the customer service is implying it is a Wi-Fi issue or that I need to have some firmware installed…. On my brand new sock! So thanks for the good night sleep I will be getting tonight. This is absolutely useless. All I can see is if my son is sleeping actively or peacefully but I’ll look at my non owlet camera thankfully for that.

Worst app I have ever used. The concept is cool, but the app literally never works properly. I have to close it and reopen it several times just to get it to show my baby’s sleep data. 90% of the time the sleep history disappears, & the app and base stations screams constantly that there’s an issue with the sock all night no matter how many times you fix it. And don’t even get me started on the camera. The camera lags so badly, and is not a safe option to monitor your baby’s sleep because it crashes in the middle of the night leaving you with no surveillance. For such a high price tag it’s ridiculous that this is the quality you receive.

App Connection Not Reliable. The app is okay, it’s a great idea but it needs work. It’s constantly freezing so it’s just not a reliable monitor if you’re someone like my husband and I who would prefer to be able to hear and see our baby at all times while using the monitor. We are constantly having to close out of the app and restart it to get a live feed of our monitor-it’s frustrating but manageable since the monitor was a gift. With our next child I think we will use a different monitor for sure.

Great when it works. The camera quality and sleep indicators captured by the sock are the shining features of this product; however, the abysmal app outweigh these factors. The video feed on the app lags, stutters, and shuts off constantly forcing the user to close and reopen over and over again for an update on their child. I wish I would have done more research on competitors before purchasing the Owlet; the camera quality means nothing when it hardly functions. It’s a maddening experience, one I would blame on my WiFi, if I didn’t have other products using this WiFi without an issue. Please work on the stability of your app.

No problems. Let me start off by saying I find a sketchy that the App Store says that this is rated five out of five but there’s tons of negative reviews. However I have not had a single problem with the app. There is a few seconds delay in the video but this is extremely normal for video streaming apps. I don’t have the sock so I can’t comment on that but the Cameron app have worked well for me and the two months since I’ve gotten them.

So much potential!. Gosh this app has so much potential! I like it enough keeps me most of the time at ease. But I’ll tell you what! When the app stops working and searches for base station and won’t show your live readings it’s super frustrating. This app also used to give you monthly tips for how for your little was but not they don’t give you that anymore. There also should be a “pause reading for feeding” option so you can feed in peace and not worry about the alarm going off or having to turn it on and off since it’s so loud. Again sooo much potential super sad this is as good as your development team could come up with.

AWFUL- buy any other product, this one is terrible. I was so excited about Owlet but it’s TERRIBLE. Sometimes the app works. Sometimes. But when it comes to watching your baby to see if they need you or not, sometimes is not ok. Seriously, Owlet, FIX THIS APP. I have to close it many times a day, toggle between pages to try to get the camera to start working, the temperature reader is wacky, this thing is awful. I really wish I had asked for a different product on my registry. This app is so awful that I’m considering selling everything and getting something else, although it’s all very expensive. This app makes me want to throw my phone.

Expensive garbage. We bought this because my daughter is special needs and requires equipment to monitor her breathing and heart rate at night while she sleeps. Figured it would be nice to be able to see her through the camera, but the app crashes FREQUENTLY and half the time the sound doesn’t come through like it should. It has an option to set the sound so it plays in the background, but if you leave the app for too long it quits. So if you want to use the app you have to have it open pretty much all the time and can’t use anything else at the same time. I am so over it and I wish that we never would have bought the stupid thing.

App is so terrible. The product is great but the app is so so bad. There’s really not much going on in the app in general and the only thing it really needs to do is track a few parameters and display them, and it fails to do this. When the sock is on I can see the heart rate and avg oxygen, but there’s a huge glitch that these graphs do not show in the session history. It’s rare that I see those graphs, and customer service was unable to help. I’ve heard from other people this is an ongoing issue. It’s ridiculous considering there’s nothing else the app really offers, and it’s a $300 product. Planning on returning for a different product if this issue isn’t fixed within another week.

Over all it’s nice. I really was excited for this product as she transitioned to her own room and crib. However the app quits on me, the camera sometimes takes forever to load and the app doesn’t always work in that it doesn’t show all her sleep data. I’m glad they brought back the history. Over all it usually does what I wanted it to do. However for the price I expect it to work all the time. I have the Cam and all I can do is zoom it would be nice to be able to move around the room on the Cam as well.
