Essential for your safari. Highly recommend this app if you're planning a trip to Kruger--especially if you want to self drive. I used this app to plan for my safari and to guide me while I was in the park. Not sure what I would have done without it. Excellent routes and animal descriptions. Excellent App for the Kruger addict. I use this app daily, even when I am not visiting Kruger. It is easy to navigate and the info given is detailed and accurate; useful for beginners and experts alike. The photos are stunning and if you are stuck on an ID of something they are very helpful. I cannot wait to try the map section when next in Kruger and highly recommend anyone visiting Kruger to purchase it. Well worth it!

Techie Approved - Excellent App. This app is an AMAZING app. MY HUBBY AND I ARE RETIRED TECHIES and are amazed at the info in this app. And it’s all VERY USEFUL and very well laid out. Before you head to Kruger, this is an essential travel tool. Being able to have the maps and information available OFFLINE while you are in the park is invaluable (and the pictures and maps are exceptionally detailed). As you travel through the park, you can document your sightings of birds, beasts, flora and fauna. Be sure to read their information on Being Your Own Safari Guide! This section has lots of great info and tips on how to have a great safari. You can also use the app to book your reservations. I can assure you that they respond rapid fire quickly. This is truly one of the best planning and traveling apps we have used. Is it worth the download price? YES IT IS!!!!!!

Must have for any Kruger experience!. I can’t recommend this app enough to anyone visiting the Kruger area for any reason! It is such an easy to use and extremely informative app. From finding the best routes to identifying the smallest bird you have it all right in the palm of your hand! A perfect guide! 10/10! 🤍

Virtual Safari Guide!. Whether it’s your first safari or you’re returning to Kruger National Park for another visit, the Kruger Explorer app will take a lot of the guesswork out of planning your safari and function as your virtual guide throughout your adventure! The content is superb and easy to navigate. I appreciate the bottom-up approach to first understanding the land and how a particular habitat supports wildlife. The content is what one would expect from a professional wildlife guide including tons of fun facts and information on which routes in Kruger will improve the likelihood of viewing a given species. I’ve enjoyed referencing the animal profiles to learn more about the species I photographed during my first visit to Kruger in May 2019 and found the app invaluable in planning a 39-day, self-guided safari in October 2019. I highly recommend the Kruger Explorer app!

A Must For Self Driving Kruger. We are hopefully going to be able to visit Kruger in December of 2021. We downloaded this app to assist in our planning. In only a few days of use the app has been fantastic in helping our trip planning. If you are considering a self drive trip to Kruger this app is a must. Communication with Danny and Charlotte, who developed the app, concerning questions about the app and Kruger has also been great.

A GUIDE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. This app has turned out to be my go-to personal guide when needing to identify either a bird species or an unusual mammal. It is loaded with a great deal of useful information, including the many routes through the park, informational background on each species and much more

Nicely done. We made a trip to Kruger for 10+ days. KrugerExplorer was recommended by Leo Vantage Safari and Guide folks. It has proven to be wonderful advice. The app has proven to be a great source of information. It is also a great reminder of all the things we saw on our travels. We couldn’t have done Kruger without it. This was our first trip to Kruger NP and I couldn’t imagine our trip without this app. Highly, highly recommend. It’s worth the $12 for the high resolution and easy to use maps section alone! We loved the sightings tracker and made a routine of logging our daily sightings over dinner each night. A must have for any trip to Kruger, particularly for novices like us.

The Safari Dream. I have been dreaming of going on a safari for most of my life. I’ll be honest I haven’t been too educated in most of it, but just loved the idea of it. That’s why I was so excited when I found this app. Not only does it break down the best routes, it educates you on every animal you might see and gives you all the information you might need to go on our own safari. Something I didn’t think I could do until now! I have already started planning my first safari thanks to Kruger Explorer.

It’s just an expensive blog. Most of this information is accessible on Google. Except here you pay $12 + for paragraph upon paragraph upon paragraph. An app that needs a paragraph of “how to use” for every landing page is not a user friendly app. I still don’t know where to find the elephant spots or lion spots or the best times. Which time of year which animal migrates to. I guess I have to read this novel of an app first. Something I could have continued to do on Google for free. Don’t recommend. Just google

Routes. So far loving the app. Headed to Kruger in a couple weeks. Wondering if road closures in Kruger are noted anywhere in the app?

Best Kruger Guide. On our visits to Kruger, I use the app for a map, and to look up mammals and birds. We have found out so many interesting things - like your Vagrant Bird information. At night, around the braii, we discuss our days sightings, and inevitably the Kruger Explorer App comes out to clarify or inform. For me, it also comes in so handy when I’m sadly not in Kruger. I look up sighting locations, read up on mammals and birds, read distance charts and gate times to help plan our next trip, and many other ways. I can’t imagine going to Kruger without this app.

Fantastic app. This is beautifully designed app with simple and intuitive navigation. Accompanying images are of great quality, information provided is concise and distilled, local language names are a wonderful addition. It does not yet have all species by far, but I am certain that this is work in progress. Love the flora section, as well as routes and maps. Great job, and I hope the updates continue!

Makings of a World Class App. Loved the intuitive interface and extra information on every animal/bird. High res photos of the animals enhances the experience and learning. Loved the Afrikaans bird names- hope you are planning to add the Zulu name too at some future date. Fairly priced considering the work and development for this premium quality app. Will never have to buy a paper map of the park again. Yay for me and yay for the environment. Sightings record a lovely add-on. Constructive criticism for updates as I believe you will continue to improve the app. Would love to have bird sounds, photos of the juvenile birds and if we could have the option t date sightings. So you can have a record of sightings for a particular KNP trip. Very happy with my purchase.

Great find. This app is great. Wonderful design and as I dream of visiting Kruger National Park, until then I can virtually plan, see great photos, and learn a lot along the way. Easy to navigate but will make you want to start planning your own visit! =)

Awesome tool. The KrugerExplorer App is a must for any visitor to Kruger. It’s jam packed with useful info regarding routes and maps and the flora and fauna info is the icing on the cake. We used it constantly on our trip through Kruger and would recommend to everyone.

Awesome app for visiting Kruger. This app has everything you need for a visit to Kruger. The maps are excellent and there are suggested routes with fantastic detail of where to go and what to see. The details of mammals, birds, reptiles, insect and plants are excellent with high quality photos. This app can basically replace your paper based maps and bird and mammal books. It is awesome value. Great for identifying animals. I like the detailed write ups of the animals and the identifying features. Pictures are spot on. The app is good too because it blocks people from sharing locations of endangered species susceptible to poachers (e.g., Black Rhino).

KrugerExplorer. This app gives one an illustrated virtual tour of the Kruger National park in South Africa, or a real information brochure if one is visiting in person. The Kruger Park must be the best place to see all the fascinating African animals. This app provides all the information one needs to make this an unforgettable tour. I know, because I have been there many times in person.

Very detailed planning info. Still going through it as a load of content here...if planning your trip to Kruger, this will prove to be very useful. The maps are superbly detailed and custom made. A tonne of photos to help you identify species (mammals, birds, reptiles, invertebrates, flora and fauna) along with detailed write ups on behaviour, diet, physical characteristics, where to find, etc. My kids like to read about the animals. You can also use the app to list locations of animal sightings.

Amazing App For Travellers and Learners Alike!. I had a recent trip to South Africa and had been following various photography pages on Instagram. It was a way to get me excited and learn a bit about the various animals and such I would see on my safari. I came across one page called Krugerexplorer. I followed and they seemed to have very nice pics. Like many of the other pages. What I liked the most was that they provided context under each photo. Also at the bottom of the photos it said they were developing an app! Perfect. Once the App was available I downloaded it. Now it didn’t get released in time for my trip but that’s ok the wait was worth it and I can learn so much about what I saw when I browse through it. And like anyone that’s been on safari you can’t just do it once so no doubt I’ll be back to Africa again. The app is very detailed, it has a lot and I mean a lot of good information in it. The pics are fantastic and it doesn’t crash or stall. There are plenty of maps to plan your trip and they are even zoomable. The app is intuitive and well thought out. Not just slapped together like some of the other safari apps I downloaded first. I guess it’s a paid app so naturally it is better. All in all this is a fantastic resource for anyone that loves animals, wants to learn more about them or is planning a safari trip in Africa!
