Deleted. This new app is horrible. Not intuitive at all, had to just tap and swipe everywhere to find what I wanted. And back takes you all the way back to home page. This is so much worse than previous version. Shuts itself off constantly, but the old one did as well, so good job with keeping that feature in new version. Tap on headline to read, blank screen comes up. “Headline” news is days old, do you ever update it? I give one star for the ability to select the topics you want. But where is my Weird News?!?!

Breaking News!! - But first 30 seconds of an inane game ad. The app is okay, but if we are receiving notifications of important “breaking news” the idea of putting a game ad, or any ad for that matter first smacks of hypocrisy. How important is this “news” if you place it after a mindless game ad? Be a news app and make the click bait optional at the bottom of the screen. If you love the endless repetition of a mindless game app ad- you will love this app! If you close it or click away, rest assured, the ad restarts every single time.

Like The App…But Not The Ads. Very good app that is timely and informative. I would’ve given it five stars if not for the 30 second commercial that precedes the news story I want to watch.

Not user friendly. I can’t find things that the news reporters say that I should be able to find. No instructions & no direction. Just like a job I used to have. LOL Please think of the technology less advanced before updates. Give ritual or quick access, realizing everyone comes to the website for different information.

Commercials. Give me the option of paying to bypass the commercials, or allow me to watch commercials and gain points. This will prevent me from having to watch a commercials before I can see “Breaking News”. It’s very annoying, do I go to another media outlet.

Informative. KHOU app provide immediate information sometimes about what’s going on in my neighborhood. Breaking news gets to me very quickly with a notification on my phone home page. Easy to read or view video. Thanks.

Good news app. This is a great source for news. The update was fantastic. My only issue is clicking on a video and watching a 30 second ad. THEN after the ad plus and I click full screen in the video, the ad will play again. So 1 minute trying to watch a simple news vid.

More interesting in ad money than helping people. I use this app to get essential information about weather and local happenings. Every time I open it to get a weather forecast I have to watch a 15 second ad despite the numerous ads on the sides and top. The 15 second ad often causes me to miss the forecast or other information that can’t be replayed. If channel 11 is hurting for money this bad maybe they should look at a telethon to save their station or make cut backs and restructure their debt. You only get 1 star because your app is lacking.

KHOU Anywhere All the Time. I have a fluctuating work schedule and had to be at work during most of the storm this week I was able to stay informed even without power because it was on my phone and I had plenty of options to keep my phone charged.

Too few headline items. The website still needs work. Not enough main headlines to select and often there will be 4 headlines dealing with basically the same subject matter.

Not helpful anymore. I love KHOU 11 and their coverage, but I feel this app doesn’t accurately tell me anything. It’s confusing to use, there’s no main menu, and there aren’t even any live traffic updates. Only just a Waze page. I’m sad to delete the app and hope the app reflects more up-to-date coverage and is easier to use.

Ads. I find it should be unnecessary for a news station to charge you for using their app. Not charging money, but make you watch ads to get any story. I love KHOU don’t get me wrong, but shame on any news channel that makes you watch ads to get their news. Just saying!

New app is no good. Old app needed improvement but was much better then this version. In this update it is hard to find anything, slower to load, more ads, and less space to actually read news. The orange bar at the top is huge, plus there is a an ad underneath that bar then a huge black semi-transparent bar at the bottom. All together that clutter takes up over half my screen so even when I do find something it’s hard to read it. Will be moving to new local news app shortly.

No!!!!!!!. I normally don’t mind upgrades because it means there are new features and improvements. This is NOT the case for the new app. It keeps closing out on me, it’s difficult to navigate (I agree with another commenter the picture layout was much easier) and it’s just messy all the way. I’m going to keep in on my phone to see if it improves, but because there is a current weather event I’m going to upload channel 2’s weather app... bummer deal guys.

It could be better. I have used this app for almost 2 years now. It’s gotten better but still needs work. It crashes too much. And I would like to see faster updates to the news. I go into the site and it’s the same news from yesterday. The weather especially needs to be updated faster.

Weather. I love y’all coverage of news & weather. I live in Onalaska Tx which is north of Houston, we have no local station so we have to reply on the Houston forecast. I know you can’t cater to us but if you could but a little more information on the Onalaska, Livingston area you would increase your following. Thank you

Too many ads when watching the news video. There are too many ads every time I watch a video even when I change the orientation of the video It wants to replay the ad many of the ads have nothing to do with Khou or Houston these are all app related ads for gambling or social media. Please help us in watching news really to our area without going to the annoying 30 second ads. if you change you the video orientation or if you actually get out of the video and come back and you have to rewatch another ad. Also a good choice would be to have if I missed a news report such as a 4 PM 6 PM to 10 PM then the app should give me at least 24 hours to watch the latest news report.

Enjoying the coverage. I appreciate the coverage due to the winter storm but WHY do reporters ask stupid questions and persist with same question even after it’s been answered? I could never deal with reply because I would call them out as idiots.

Too much commercials. I really like having my local news handy but having to watch a long comercial game related (repeatedly) or various for each news is a bit uncomfortable. Also you can see 1 video, if you don’t get out to watch another one, it will have you watch the comercial and repeat the same news over and over again. Planning to check on other apps for my local news.

NEWS & DRESS ATTIRE. For a year, I watched other television news outlet and Channel 11 as not my first channel of choice. However, by making one simple change in your organization changed my concept and that was simply a wardrobe change. I’ve monitored your competitors dress attire and they are not close. That’s why I switched news channels and downloaded the 11 app. Your news content and delivery are on point. Keep up the excellent works! Dr. Michael Augustus

Main complaint.. My main issue with KHOU 11 is way too many notifications. I have considered deleting the App because of that. So, in order to be less annoying, send less! Thank you.

Still Worst Houston News App. Extremely slow compared to local ABC, NBC, and Fox apps. Also riddled with shifting ads that change sizes and make you click on ads because the screen jumps around. Layout is horrible if you actually want news and not adds. It shows one news story, then ads for days. The other local news apps are centered around news stories, not whatever the purpose of this app is?

Favorite News. This is my favorite place to receive my news they are always up-to-date the first no and I live in Houston so I cannot complain about anything hopefully one day I can work here

Highest regards to khou news and weather group. Since moving to Houston in 2013, we have never wavered from staying with this news and weather station. Just love the weather team David Paul and Blake keep us on our toes with latest reports! Thank you for the best news reports all day long.

Cumbersome. KHOU11 news app was my go-to place for local news and weather. The GPS weather was great. Could quickly scroll anywhere in the country to get accurate weather radar. Not any more. The tiles are clumsy and user unfriendly. Why did you make this change? Couldn’t you cram in more advertising on the old platform? Good grief. Goodbye.

Weather and news. Thank you so much for the weather updates they help me tremendously. I have several illnesses and I must see what the weather is like before I plan my day. And I love to watch the afternoon news cast I get caught up on everything that’s going on in Houston because I am ill and mostly in the house. Lettie Farek

Hate the new app.. The new layout is not user friendly. The old app was easier to navigate. I also liked the weather radar on the previous app. I could actually find my location on the map and see how far a thunderstorm was away. I always love upgrade however I do not feel that the developers reviewed what actually worked before. At least give us the option of which one we would like to use.

My Source for Important News. KHOU is my go to source for local, state, national, and international news. When there is bad weather I know I can depend on them to keep us up to date so we can be safe. 11-1 is the news channel I use first before any of the other networks. I am glad they developed the app for my smart phone and tablet so I can get important news wherever I may be.

New format disappointing. New format is a struggle to find anything! Now you aren’t just wading through ads but multiple posts of the same story. Heavy on videos, light on print - links often take you to another station and you are suddenly seeing/reading some other state’s news. Disappointing

Love the app. I love the app but I don’t like the fact that it keeps crashing and majority of the time, if I press play on a video, it will restart several times before it plays. Also way too many commercials. I’m pretty sure they are paid sponsors but too many commercials before we can access the actual story.

New app not stable, should be pulled until ready. I was looking forward to a new, easier to navigate app. This is not ready for widespread use. The app is not stable. It keeps shutting me out, even though it does not seem to shut down. When it appears to close, I can find it in open apps. The pages are not stable; when I try to read a page, it shifts up and down, and sometimes—not always—stabilizes if I wait more than 45 seconds. I tried to access a link for “high water locations” in Houston this morning, and after almost 30 minutes and six attempts, I still cannot get that information.

Background hungry & needs improvement!. The KHOU 11 app is one of the background hungry app I’ve seen. The app continues to run in background after I turn off background app refresh. This needs to fix ASAP!!! Also, the app needs better optimization with latest version of iOS. The app lacks of better organization inside of the app like split the categories from Home tabs into separate tabs like traffic, live news, local area news & etc... Also, the welcome animation is pretty slow.

I only watch KHOU 11 for local news .... And now TEGNA has removed CBS from my dish lineup, so I was so, SO happy to have this app, to be able watch live episodes. I’d already had and used the app. KHOU 11 is a news source I completely trust, and I enjoy ALL of the anchors, meteorologists, etc..

Traffic map. The new app works well enough, but, the previous traffic map was much better. I knew exactly what was happening, where, so I could decide what route to take and when. Now, I have to interpret silly little emoji’s. I never used Waze. I didn’t need it with the previous traffic map. Bring it back, please.

Meh. I’ve tried all the local news apps and this one is lacking in start up, display, and stories featured. A lot of the news is recycled. Would prefer more local interest items including events, maps with incidents, and a “feel good” section that is refreshed every week instead of once a month.

Good to get Houston news.. We traded our T in Texas for T in Tennessee 3 years ago. I was born in Houston and have lived all life in Houston. I still want to know all the news. I’m very grateful for the Channel 11 app. It helps keep me connected to my city and state. I may live in Tennessee now but my ❤️ is still in Houston.

Squatters moving in. I want to take time out to thank the FAB Michelle Homer for looking into our concern about our community. These Abandoned homes are note fit for any human occupancy. They diminish the value of our community. The one our parents worked so hard to have & pass on to their children. Hoping something great comes out of her hard work. Thank Ms Homer

Give us back the old app!!!. I do not like this app! It’s unorganized, hard to navigate, and no sports! I hate it! The old app was the best news app I’ve used & I used it everyday, multiple times. I’ve now downloaded Channel 2’s app & am using it. I like Channel 11, but no more app.

App is so horrible now. I hate the app now! I used to love channel 11’s app and use it all the time. Now it’s a waste of time because it’s so hard to navigate. I hate it especially for my parents who are senior citizens; it’s hard for them to tell what is a news story and what is an ad! They get lost on random sites and it really irks me!!! It has become an unreliable app especially as a new source if it’s going to take you to unreliable places and unnecessary places if you click a link. Tonight even while at my parents house they were under a tornado warning that came across via a channel 11 notification for their area and you couldn’t find anything on the app about it and you couldn’t get to any news story without watching at least 30 seconds of ads first. If this had been an actual emergency for them they would’ve lost their lives trying to find out more info from their “ trusted news source”. Speaking of ads they’re everywhere and that’s a problem! If you go in looking for specific news story you can’t find it anywhere and you just get stuck looking for what they want you to look at and I am so exhaustingly tired of the crap. Not only do you have to watch ADS (crap) to get to a story but you have to continuously scroll past visual ADS to continue a story you’re reading. IMO the app is worthless as a news source. KHOU should be ashamed.

Good Information. I like to get notifications on my phone about stuff going on throughout the day. I no longer watch CBS national morning news. It’s too biased and too many personal opinions.

KHOU. Stands for Houston. Do not live in Houston, however; what happens in Houston often affects my home town of Texas City. The weather is top notch, equal or better than the Weather Channel. Sports are not as strong as other channels, however; you present enough to keep me current. Local news is there if there is a significant happening. I am conservative and don’t always agree with the view expressed, but I will look and listen to the view presented. I choose KHOU a lot of the time, other channel is mostly cable FOX NEWS Darwin Ryman Pelican Harbour Texas City, TX

Home away from home. As a native Houstonian, I moved to Georgia a few years back to marry my wife and start a new life. I got the KHOU app to keep up with things in Houston since it will always be a home for me. Thanks for having such an insightful application to the heartbeat of such a dynamic city such as my Hometown of Houston!

Not enough reporting on crime anymore from the app. It also not very iPhone friendly. Have to tap the arrow to go back vs being able to swipe back just like on every other app. Felt is was great before. Didn’t see the need for change.

Not great. On the road trying to watch my local news but the app doesn’t work! Go to watch news and when I try to scroll back to the beginning of the broadcast the whole screen moves and mostly I get a screen that says we’ll be with you shortly. When I need this app to work it doesn’t.

Very good news app. I like the KHOU 11 app because it keeps you informed about what goes in our greater Houston area and it even sends you real time alerts such as crime, consumer, and weather alerts so you can be notified and be prepared ahead of time no matter where you are in the world.

Too many notifications. I only got this app for weather updates. The only notifications I have turned on in the settings are the weather updates, yet, I still get notifications for every little thing. It’s overwhelming. I’ll just got back to checking the website version of KHOU 11 for my weather updates.

Would happily pay for an ad free version. The forced ads are getting outrageous. I love the push notifications that alert to breaking stories but I get highly annoyed when up pops a 30 second add for some silly video game that I cannot skip though. Even worse, if I push though it to see the news story, when I go to the next news story up comes another ad (sometimes shorter, sometimes the same exact silly game ad). Please please please offer an ad free version of this app!!

Signal. The signal comes and goes out on a regular time,the weather makes little difference....all of the other channels come great all of the time!we have moved the antenna all around around trying to improve watching .Question.... do you plan to set a new antenna out west with all of the other channels? I have point to have put to all your watchers. Social Security people need to know. If you retire and do not take part “B”.when you start part “A” .......when you decide to include part”B”.......YOU WILL BE FINDE 10PERCENT PER YEAR!!!!!!as they say NO EXCUSES! Old app was better.. This app is poorly organized, hard to find what you’re looking for. When you finish reading an article, you basically start over and have to look through things you’ve already seen to look for something new. Links in articles don’t work.

Thanks. It’s good to know how the big city is doing. It helps me stay in touch with the going-ons of the area of Texas I grew up & the area of Texas that my grand-children are growing up & getting most all of their initial important experiences.

Not bad but... ((update)). ((Update)) So I’ve emailed support/feedback as it says to, however, they never bothered to respond. Clearly they don’t care what you have to say... Also, what is shown as the vote for the “Vote Now” part, is NOT the current vote topic! ((Original)) I feel the app has become a bit chaotic and there seems to be little organization to it. It feels too busy and hard to find certain stories. It would also be nice if I could find news specific to certain areas around town. Also I really miss the “Weird News” section. My kids used to gather around once a week, just to read and hear about the weird news in the world. I really wish that would come back.

KHOU. I’ve been a loyal viewer for years. Why? Because the news is unbiased, the weather forecast is accurate, and the sports reporting is informative. Please keep up the great work. 👍

Great news and awesome stories!. I love this station’s news! They are more up to date on information than the national media! I’ve learned so much from this station.

Need Bug fixes. The app keeps on getting stuck and then closing. This app needs some bugs fixed for sure.

Horrible for iPhone. The old app was so, so. I have a frozen screen almost every time I open this app. I’m sure the competition loves this app. Folks will start looking at the Chan 13 app and probably not come back even if this useless app is fixed. What professional organization in today’s time goes live with an app without first beta testing it with its own team. Hopefully the News room management is not operating with the same clumsy approach.

Away from Houston. I am a Houston resident that have to travel quite frequently to Mexico. Having the KHOU 11 app allows me to be in touch with what goes on in town. I really appreciate it.

Bring the old App back please!!. The old app was perfectly fine. I especially appreciated the traffic map. This new one seems like it’s made for kids with the little faces you have to interpret to see what’s going on traffic- wise around Houston. It’s ridiculous. I’m using a whole new app just to get traffic when I used to heavily rely on the old KHOU app. Who said a new app was needed??!

Technical difficulties every time. I get the notifications but I’m always unable to open the app. Either by clicking on the notifications or trying to separately open the app I get the same message every time: “Due to technical difficulties, we’re unable to connect to the server. Please try again later.” but later never works.

Registered Social Worker. I enjoy doing the applications but in 25 years and over 200 applications I’ve never been considered for any position with the VA.

No Thanks. Used to be my local news app but I’ll be shopping other stations. Tenga purchase of KHOU has been a disaster for Houston news All clutter and ads and time consuming little news buried in the clutter. I have to look all over to find information. Interesting that the Tenga apps for other cities news appear to have the same format but have 4-5 star ratings from thousands of reviews. I guess Houston has more discerning readers.

Weather. Love getting the forecast either on tv or on my phone

This new App is terrible. Come on guys, are you TRYING to get us to stop using your App??? Your old one was easier to navigate, the GPS radar worker for wherever I was traveling, and it always fired right up when I clicked on the App. Now you FORCED me to upload this new App that automatically cancels its self out of my phone immediately after I download it and open it!!! What’s up with that???

Good app KHOU 11. KHOU 11 app is people friendly and user friendly. I also like using the radar area of this app. My go to weather app. 5 stars ⭐️ rating.

Want it back on tv. Can’t see my favorite shows like everyday and it’s paying to get what you want and I would think it would be to please your audience.

Horrible. This was my number one app to check weather and news. Whoever did this update or designed this app needs to be fired. I normally don’t wright reviews, but we have a storm in the area and I can’t look at radares quickly. Everything is everywhere it’s just a mess. Ads are all over the place I can’t tell if it’s an pop up add or news. This was not an update it was a disgrace for KHOU who has amazing news anchors and Weather men and women.

Access. When can we access your site again from the mobile app?

Great channel. We have always watched KHOU ever since we had To move about 20 years ago. Just wouldn’t watch any other channels. So pleased to watch y’all !

KHOU Weather. I live in Florida. Your Weekday morning Weather person provides the best weather coverage available to me. Although my area isn’t addressed it’s easy to tell what my weather will be in a day or two

Morning News & Weather. My cell phone has the KHOU WEATHER WARNING setting on all the time. I love getting updates during the day & night on the happenings around my city. It’s MY FAVORITE station & MY FAVORITE newscasters. ❤️

CBS- Good Programing but Liberal Slant becoming more pronounced.. I used to watch daily. Morning show in fun and informative. But make no mistake who owns this channel. Word choices and presentation tend to lean against traditional Texas values at times not just National values.

Worst news app. After 2 days, I’m deleting this app! TOO MANY ADS. While the ads are loading you cannot scroll past them & continue reading the article. I’m a teacher & I was monitoring the school closures. I tried to scroll past the ads; the app kept bouncing back to the top every time an ad loaded. BS!!! Channels 13 & 2’s apps do not do this to the user. KHOU this is the worst, it’s not an upgrade, it’s a downgrade.

Improvement suggestion. Work on the video replays and lives. A replay will start as requested but then a commercial will interrupt. This is annoying especially when you are trying to listen in on a live. You app just need a little improvement.

My Station. Always watch have most of my life only station too watch love David Paul he is good with the weather

SO MANY ADS!!!. I appreciate the news app and its information but there are ADS EVERYWHERE! You can’t make a move without something popping up. If it doesn’t pop up, it covers half the page with ads. You can to continuously scroll to FINALLY get to what you came to look at.
