Thurman Lawson. I just installed this app and going thru the news sections. My phone is showing two of the news sections still running in the app after I shut them down !! What is going on here??? I can see now that I won’t be watching what I did watch on here.. I guess google & Apple are going to control this app as they do with all the others.. A very very big disappointment to us older generation elders…

This UPdate was a DOWNgrade. You actually have to scroll through a long string of subject folders of content to find out that the news category you’re looking for is no longer on the site. No more search function at all. Inefficient and counterintuitive. Unless I failed to find the right setting, it seems that this app is no longer customizable. I’ve always been fond of this app. Disappointed. Is this a funding problem or are decisions being made by unqualified employees?

Easy to use and fair clear interesting content. All programs are easy to access.

AWFUL. This is such a total downgrade frqm the previous app - or is it because this version is meant for app store american viewers ~ either way it is totally horrid .The app I had for ages was more than ´ the daily news' of the day. I used it mostly re: areas of interest to me that were relevant ~ where I learned from them . Am dumping this & hope there will be a return of that TERRIFIC version.

Always first to report the big news from around the world.. My go yo app to find out what real news is breaking from around the globe.

Global podcast. This podcast is “global news” in name only. Instead telling me the important events of world today, and providing me with an objective analysis, the podcast goes into some extremely remote stories such as the Mississippi jail. As an old journalist myself, my editors admonished me to tell the most important stories first. After the first five minutes, it is extremely hard to retain the listeners or readers interested. I am very disappointed and find the podcast a total waste of my time.

Calm,rational coverage. This program does not engage in loud speculative programming. The coverage is balanced and presented in a calm steady manner that does not hold back when hard questions need to be addressed.

To my dismay. I downloaded the app 3 days ago an upon sending this review I shall delete the app.! Why because when I close my eyes I see everything and everyone draped in a Palestinian Flag with signs saying let us complete Hitlers task an rid the world of the Jewish Nation! I mean it pathetic

Highly recommended. As an English teacher I highly recommend this app for all english learner that wish enhance listening skills.

IPad portrait view.. It is almost impossible to use the App if one has a keypad attached and it seems no way of changing back to landscape

Big wave surfing meters to feet conversion. Shocked to just hear a report on big wave surfing in which your reporter told us (twice) that the ~30 meter wave was 40 feet tall! Fact checkers all on tea break?

One of the great english-language news sources.. I particularly like them as they have a broader perspective on the United States than the sources with in that country. Beyond their news, they also have a great cultural perspective. Hail, Brittania!

One request. On the new iPhones, it is difficult to set the sleep timer when listening to live radio — the button for the sleep timer overlaps the signal strength/Wi-Fi/battery info. I would listen more if this was fixed.

Format Suggestion. I would appreciate more written text - and text instead of videos as more information can be learned from the written word than from video segments.

Thanks, but can you please.... I live in Africa, and am very grateful for this app on long car trips. I listen and learn, instead of stressing about the traffic! It would be that much better if I could add the app icon to Car Play so that I don't have to fiddle with my phone. Please add this feature.

Interesting, thought provoking, expanding. The content will expand your universe. Meet the people in the news, look into other cultures, grow and learn.

Needs Captioning Option. There is no setting or way to turn on captioning. I consider this a serious flaw.

World News. The content is informative and insightful; Unfortunately could not watch the video. The program should be accompanied by video.

Concise informative reporting. The news presentation is accurate, concise, focused and non biased. Opinions of interviewees are not judged by the reporter/analysts. Rather honest and true reporting of situations that is of interest to myself is well presented. I find the integrity of the management’s operation of the news service up-lifting.

What we hear are sounds, and yet what we perceive is the world.. BBC’s intent is well tuned to the need of our minds, and your effort is well meant for the need of our emotions. We humans are the sensing flowers of the world. Flowers create pollen and nectar from what they feed. Pollen creates more flowers, good human beings; Nectar produces humming birds, our greater humanity :-)!

The only live news I listen to!. Best live-streaming news radio app! Get the world news without all of the opinion.

Essential listening.. Great news app. Essential to get a note complete picture and understanding of news around the world which most news networks don’t cover.

Great but needs one more feature. I think the app is great but they need to update the app so that it can work with the widgets page on iOS! For quick and easy access to the top news headlines

News Worthy. Excellent news, terminology outstanding. Topics on target. I find reading the articles and scanning the subtitles to be on target to be what I’m looking to learn about and what I’m looking at learning.

An online written version. I would continue taking the app if a written version, similar to the AP were available. I’m hard of hearing and would enjoy being able to read the news even if it were merely transcriptions. The audio version that is currently used is difficult to understand at normal levels and becomes distorted with increased volume. Thank you, Margaret Ashmore

Love it. The fact that they have the timer is amazing, so that the stream automatically shuts off after a predetermined time that you’ve chosen, is fantastic.

News without Drama. Can count on reliable, professional reporting without spin or drama. Only place for news-thank you,

UAP Congressional Hearing Coverage. The way they have covered the confessional testimonies of David Fravor, David Grusch and Ryan Graves so far is reprehensible. Sad to inject so much doubt and bias into a story that is just beginning to take root. Seems like an agenda is behind the scenes. If they were interested in being unbiased and representing the public, they should show some outrage at how muted the hearing has to be due to the over classification of US top secret programs.

News only through podcasts??. I absolutely hate only being able to hear the news, I want to read articles for myself and be shown the graphs before my own eyes. I cannot find a single written piece on here, maybe it used to include them but it does not whatsoever anymore. It should advertise itself as a podcast app so I don’t waste my time!

A recommendation. It would be better if it had the written version

This of THE place. If you want factual information about world news and issues, this is where you want to listen. Thorough reporting with interviewers who are unafraid to ask the tough questions and demand answers from the interviewees.

Poor performance. It rarely updates. The news cycle can be eight hours or more old rather than the latest version. One must uninstall and reinstall the app to make it work

Don’t like the auto play advertising. I get having to advertise, but the ads that play video are obnoxious. When Closing a news feed, these sometimes play automatically and it makes me not want to use the app.

Frustrated. I was looking for an app that I could use on my ipad that would adjust itself when I rotate/change the way I view my ipad. Having my ipad attached to a keyboard kind of prevents me from viewing at a angle that I prefer. Maybe one day you will update and I will try using the app again, but until then. Not sure why so many apps make you watch in portrait view instead of an option.

Real News. Only source I know of that gives me a world wide report throughout the day. Unlike most other news sources in the US that usually stop at the borders😎

Your earthquake story. I just listen to the story of the Syrian family living in southern Turkey in a tent. I listened to little Nada talk about how she lives her little friends she plays with, how she loves her father and mother, and how so very cold she is at night. I began to weep that such a sweet child, one of many I am sure, should suffer so terribly as the world looks on. I am not wealthy but I wonder how the wealthy of the world could hear this sweet child’s words and do nothing! How someone could grab a beer from the fridge as they sail their yacht and not even think about Nadia and her family’s suffering. thank you for the story though it troubled my soul deeply.

Longtime user despises inclusion of adverts. Loved this app and a big fan of the content - listen all night sometimes - that is until the recent adverts. If you want me to consume your Americanized version of propaganda, you'll have to find a new way. I'm deleting this app over the recent inclusion of ads, which is a nonstarter for me. Short sighted move!

Could be better. The app sorts podcasts in an odd way. Why doesn’t it sort by date and time? It’s cumbersome to actually find the latest 5 minute update. Also, there is no feedback link or help link within the app. So I had to mention this sorting issue in a review which can’t be good for the app producer.

Love this channel. It is my main source of information I trust this station above all other source of info it’s the only channel that if not sure facts are completely accurate let’s u know in broadcast I have never found fake news at this site

Sound issues. Why does the radio not continue playing after minimizing the app. Continuing to listen to the radio player while actively reading or doing other task. The radio player just stops as soon as some other task is done on the device. It should continue playing whatever the listener is listening to. Unless it’s paused or stopped. What fails. Does the player version need to be updated.

Comment on news quality. Always clear, always to the point, ALMOST always unbiased, EXCEPT when it concerns Gaza-Israel war: bias towards Israel, overlooking some the humanitarian scandal, disaster and genocidal qualities on the Israeli side: NOT BECOMING OF THE BBC’s reputation of being objective, two-sided and fair. WATCH YOUR WORDS AND THOUGHTS! This disaster was 75 years in the making, you all know it, and you have the responsibility to remind the audiences.

Great content, annoying interface. I hate that this app has to be not only open but also front screen to work over Bluetooth. Works fine when it’s just on the phone speakers however.

Weak. It works and the reporting is excellent BUT (1) organization is bad, it’s hard to find what you want if you know what you want or, if you don’t, to know what you’re looking at, (2) the graphics are not good, (3) there are no user controls; for instance, you can’t select favorites or subscribe or sort, you can’t make a playlist, you can’t set it to stop when your program ends, you can’t set the playback speed

If your bored of the BBC, your bored of Life.. One can find some topic always of interest at the BBC. One can learn an abundance of new knowledge from all walks of life. And one can also either read between the lines of the newsreaders, experts and other BBC quested guest or dissect the words, chosen vocabulary and the ifs. All cleverly and softly spoken to hear what really is, as we know, what the BBC can beem around the world, what really can be, ‘soft propaganda’

Intelligent Objectivity. This is the only AM radio service in Australia that operates overnight and makes one feel like a world citizen. Its insights into history, foreign cultures, health, psychology, sociology, science, computing and world politics just to name a few areas of coverage make me feel so well informed !! The only broadcasts which I dread relate to English Soccer games.

Newshour. I have no problem with the content, which I rely on a lot. HOWEVER, this app would be better without the intrusive advertising, especially the ads that pop up during a pause and don’t allow you to return to or resume your program. It’s beyond frustrating and annoying.

Audio fault. When my AirPods fall out of my ears the audio should stop. But instead it switches to my iPhone speaker. Which can be loud. Please change the coding so the audio just stops. Or at least give the user the choice.

Living in regional Australia radio options aren’t excellent; the world service provides insightful documentaries and comprehensive news updates from around the world; Listening to the world service genuinely makes one feel like a citizen of the world regardless of where you live, we are all connected as society thanks to the world service.

Great content, work on layout. I get it, you need to have ads, but the big one partway down the page is badly positioned. It's too easy to tap open when navigating down the page. You might want that but it's annoying.

App Access??. You've changed the app so it turns off when I lock my screen or swipe to look at something else. Why?! Means I can't have bbc going in the background while doing other things.

Pop up ads intrusive and dangerous. I try to use the app to listen and sometimes it prevents this and forces me to open my browser instead to download software- the only way to avoid this is to shutdown the app and reopen. Also the pop up’s often hide buttons. I am contemplating deinstalling it . If this behaviour happens again I will.

Terrible design for iPad users-insists on screen being page view vs landscape. What idiot decided that we wanted to use the app on our iPads in page view vs landscape? It’s like 1980’s BBC logic all over again. Same now with BritBox.

BBC video service. BBC is arguably the world’s best news service, with truly global coverage. I am disappointed that as a Canadian I can not access the BBC Video wold news service unless I have a cable supplier. I wish I could purchase an online subscription to BBC Video without having to purchase a Canadian cable package which has (to be polite) very little intelligent content, and is largely a waste of time and money .

MOST RELIABLE NEWS SERVICE. The BBC World News is the only information I trust that’s UTD, accurate, and thorough. I highly recommend.

A timer for the live could be added. The app is very good, but it could be better if a timer could be added for the living, so it could automatically terminate in 10, 15, 30, or any longer minutes.

No sound no refresh. This app is hard to use sometimes there is no sound when streaming I mean if you have a podcast app isn’t that the whole point? Without the sound it’s useless also in order to see new podcasts you need to close the app and restart .. interesting feature. Most are rating the news content rather than the app hence the high rating I’m on iPhone Xs I guess my phone is too old 😳

Liars. This app provides great access to the worlds most professional liars. The BBC hasn’t been telling the truth since World War II and they’re getting more and more sufficient lying and this is a very good app if you want to listen to propaganda . Don’t expect the truth. Spend a lot of time on BBC for listening to their place in fiction.

BBC world news. I find that the news content extremely up the hour. I am not finding enough good news though. I understand good news does not match the bad news we all want to hear , however I do think there should be more of a balance. Wether it’s the pandemic or war in the Middle East there is always good and bad news. Thanks for your attention !

Audio issues. Often the audio will not start with the stream. You can see the stream is running but you hear nothing. Other times it will start but it will be intermittent. I’ve reinstalled it. Nothing seems to help it. It’s very strange because the BBC news app listen live stream works flawlessly.

Trump is right. When I find out you did the same things as CNN You are not my news channel anymore! My last advice: Do the real news and must be neutral all the time!

Your news on India is always negative.. And biased especially against the ruling BJP. You show one side of the story and not the complete picture. BBC isn’t the organization it once was…. It is becoming like all the other channels trying to peddle a particular point of view.

Stop auto pop-up of advertising. This App has gone from great to the worst. Stop advertising pop-ups at launch of app.I will delete if the new ad pop-ups at launch or not removed.

Focus on Africa And other World News. It’s a good catch up, however given the brevity of theSegment, find it unsettling that it does not have news on Africa only, but includes other news that is covered elsewhere on your broadcasts.I find the rest of the news to be a good coverage.

Schedule. Doesn’t list the daily schedule of programs. The same stuff happened recently comes and goes but lately it just doesn’t do it at all.

Facts not opinion. Please provide me facts and not opinions and the facts should encompass reality perceived by both parties with regard to a specific issue I don’t need to read your manipulative text and narratives. Let me make my own decisions and draw my own conclusions according to the true facts thank you

Works perfectly on M1 Mac. This iOS app runs nicely on my M1 Mac with Big Sur (11.0.1), allowing the shedule and program info to be viewed etc

Closed Captions. If they are available, I have yet to find them, leading me to believe my American brain doesn’t subscribe to the same sorting logic as my cousins across the pond. So, continuing the search is my mission so I can understand all the things that are said and shown with every tool at my disposal… if it’s there?!?

My Goto News. The first news app I open every morning. Gives me global highlights. I love it.

Why 2 min instead of 5min?. I love this app but did not appreciate the switching to only 2 min of world news in the morning, versus the previous 5min :(

American media too USA-centric. What’s happening in Russia? China? Africa? South America? Only what threatens American interests gets reported in American Media. We’ve become blind to the world, and Ignorance only makes us pliable for politicians.

Breath of fresh air. What a treat to watch a major news network that actually reports the news without bias.

The app is flawed - Does not update automatically. The app has become flawed with the most recent release and does not update automatically. I have to delete it and reinstall it every time to get the latest news. So stopped reading it.

All-around informative. Generally great source of relevant world news as well as topics of interest. However, website can appear somewhat disorganized.

Not up-to-date. Newshour runs 8-9am EDT, but at 9am the app is still running previous evening’s news! Still so at 10 am. Same problem with Africa today. Long delays in updates. We don’t want yesterday’s news!

All podcasts/video not much readIng. Was looking to have some better grasp of world news from USA but most all are podcasts-great for my phone w ear buds but not preferred on ipad. Should make an option to turn off headlines that are strictly video/podcast for those who prefer quiet reading.

Always Superior. Can’t start my day without it. So appreciate the in-depth coverage on such a broad scale.

Poor Format. Content is good but for some strange reason the app only displays in portrait mode which makes it hard to use on smaller tablets. Would be much better if it displayed in landscape mode. This is the 21st century. Let the user make the choice.

Awful design. No print news, seems to be podcasts. This app has zero print news to read and appears to be all podcasts. Awful. Especially when you’re in a quiet place or no wifi, cannot read the news. Also no video.

Feedback. There’s too much audio. I prefer text because I can access the news by reading even in a noisy environment such as on public transport. There should be a text option or the audio should be accompanied by captions.

Nothing to read?. I don’t want to watch videos. I want to read the news. I can’t find any printed news on this website.

Fox and CNN. This a lot better app than the competition. It doesn’t lag, nor does it stall. I don’t have to retry.

Too many annoying pop up ads. And it’s hard to exit them. Am not opposed to adverts, but surely there must be a better way.

Doesn’t Landscape. The contents may be the greatest but unless this app doesn’t landscape, I won’t be using this app anytime soon. it would be tedious to keep toggling between Portrait and Landscape. Not iPad friendly. Deleting app.

Customiztion removed. Since your new upgrade, I am no longer able to customize my news feed. I do not want your algorithms choosing what news you think is most important to me. Please reinstate the option to choose and sort the topics that are of interest to me.

Deeply Flawed. This app only plays in portrait mode. iPad covers and holders generally keep the iPad in landscape mode. Since the vast majority of viewers (as compared to readers) view programs in landscape mode, this app is very hard to use. Developer should program to allow both modes. Compare MSNBC or CNN.
