Needs work. I have lots of cooking gadgets. The one top seems like it could be great. But the app is too buggy and not intuitive at all. Disappointed in this purchase, do better.

Update needed. Please update the app to allow us to skip steps so when disconnects happen we can pick up where we left off. Maybe a disconnect mode where the timer will pickup also. In addition allow us to input our own recipes with directions.

Leaves a lot to be desire. Tried a steak recipe, once the actual cooking was done I tried to replace the pot with a skillet and the recipe reset and I couldn’t get to the part that I needed without going through the motions of the recipe all over again Needs work to keep up

Meh. The cooker works great but the app is pretty worthless. Over a two hour sous vide it cut out twice (so far) and that is not very useful considering that once the temp is set it’s only a timer.👎

Good and bad. The good news is that it is very easy to use the app to control the OneTop for sous vide. The bad news is that if you disconnect from the onetop the app loses track of the sous vide program and you gave to restart including resetting the timer. Quite annoying.

Good and bad please fix!. The good news: seamless connection to the one top. The bad news: the auto timer function is great in theory, but takes so long to be able to push the start button that it’s useless. Even worse, with this app there’s no override to skip the time when it actually does start. For example, it froze when I needed to start a 5min step for so long that I had done it for 5 min already. This wouldn’t be such a huge deal if you could skip ahead by tapping the video like you could in the Tasty app. But you can’t. So now the recipe is behind at least 1 step so that way to cook, which is the whole point, is useless. Please fix this!!

Did they stop working on this?. I was so excited when this came out. I pre ordered thinking it would connect to the tons of tasty recipes but it’s been years and years now and it still only connects to the same few recipes. It was $250 when I bought it. I still think the idea is cool and hope they get back to working on it. For now it sits in the back of a closest and I feel a little cheated. I hope they finally update this and add some more recipes. Who knows since it’s BuzzFeed and they don’t seem like they are doing so well. 🤞🏼 You still need this app to use as a controller though. It works.

Needs more work.. I don’t like many of the recipes, more need to be provided. I’ve encountered many times when this application decides to crash on me.

Terrible. They've ruined this product for me. It worked fine and had more features and utility before. Now it hardly works at all and there was heads up they were changing it. I'm so angry at how they messed up a product I used and enjoyed regularly

One top? More like FUN top. I’ve been using my one top since it came out and it really is fun to have an appliance walk you through the entire cooking process. The app keeps getting better too.

Don’t like it. I don’t like how you can’t see the surface temp and the thermometer temp at the same time. You can set them both but you can’t see them both. This app needs to have the same functions it had in the original. The original was much simpler and way less confusing.

Cenzo. Great functionality between the unit and app. Walks you through exactly what to do and when when choosing one of the interactive recipes. Really helpful for someone who is not a chef

Not great. It is okay to learn recipe ingredients but the cooking part is stressful to use with little user control. You’re better off following almost anything you find in google rather than these events where timers cannot be paused

Better apps out there.. I personally follow multiple cooking, baking, and recipe subreddits on Reddit that much more helpful and knowledgeable than this app. Plus, the community (consisting of novice cooks as well as top of the line chefs)is always willing to share tips and advice.

No iPad support??. Just installed on my iPad to find that it’s an iPhone-only app—which means no landscape mode! Guess I’ll have to stick with manual operation. :/

Absolutely terrible. This app lacks any quality whatsoever. A truly unenjoyable experience.

Can’t preview recipes. Would love to be able to fully preview the recipe without my cooktop turning on. It’s always been hard for me to get a sense of if I have the time/ability to make a recipe from just the written instructions, and while I can usually figure it out it’s much easier to watch the video, and the fact that someone went out there, tested recipes, scripted a video, filmed the video with a full production crew, spent 20+ hours editing it, put it on an app and the app is installed on my phone and yet I can’t access it unless I’ve committed to cooking the recipe is honestly infuriating. I guess I could boil a bunch of water on the cooktop or something like that to preview the video, but it seems like a waste to do that. Don’t see myself bothering with any of the exclusive recipes. The only reason I’m not leaving one star is because they include recipes from their other app/social media and I can go watch them somewhere else.

Buggy and Outdated App. The app is constantly disconnecting from the one top and is not intuitive. I also don’t like that they stopped adding new recipes which is not fair since people spent good money for the device just for the app to stop being updated.

No option on recipes to “cook with One Top”. The selling point for me was that you would be able to sync a recipe with One Top with the “cook with One Top” option on the Tasty app. Now One Top has its own app without that option. Instead, the app has only a few recipes which look nothing like the videos in the Tasty app because there are no videos with the step-by-step instructions. This induction cooker is not necessary. You can make all the recipes on a regular stove since there’s no video/recipe to connect to the actual One Top app. What happened?!

A disappointment. One would think that moving the app to a stand-alone would mean more functionality and a dedicated experience. Sadly, this is not the case. I cannot figure out what the temperature of my water is using the thermometer. I don’t even know if it’s working as it simply stays on 0 degrees. The functionality that was there with the previous app is gone. What we have left is a bare-bones app that lost a lot of what I liked about it. Previously, the app was useful. Now? This significant step back makes me somewhat regret the purchase. I only hope the app team is working hard to at least bring the app in line with what was there previously. I cannot see myself using the One Top much until then.

Update Failure. I was pleased to see the update claim to adjust temp without starting over. Not so pleased when the updated app wouldn’t even start Precision surface temp. But if I search recipes, then back up, Precision opp appears. And when using thermometer for internal temp, why can't I also set surface temp? Burgers? Fish? It also often just overshoots preset surface temp and scorches things before I am forced to Stop Cooking and re-set.

The Worst. The app is beyond buggy and you have to reset if you phone locks or out of range.

For reddit. The one top app is buzzfeeds weakest point. If we strike here, we can cripple them. Ura!

Just bad. Doesn’t let you cook without a recipe. Can’t simply display temperatures when cooking like you used to be able to.

Works great but... Would really love to see more recipes added! I see on Facebook and youtube Tasty is really pushing this One Top, and there really is not many recipes at all! So please, if you guys could add some more that’d be awesome!

Love the new design!. The new design is very modern and so far I’ve been able to connect a lot easier than before. Can’t wait to try it out some more!

Terrible. Won’t let you set a manual temp anymore and doesn’t update to show the temperature of the surface. Also doesn’t work with many recipes waste of money

Must reinstall every time! Truly annoying.. While the app works okay once it’s connected, I have to uninstall and reinstall every time for it to connect to my One Top. I’m always hopeful, but it never reconnects without this step.

Unsupported gem. Nice foundation for the UI. Fairly intuitive even while hands are full with cooking. Please add: (1) ability to skip a step without having to wait the slated time (2) in self-cook mode, show me the termometer reading, (3) Instead of making me start the timer for a step just auto-start the timer but let me pause it. (4) when thermometer reaches desired temp, continue to show the accurate reading instead of stopping the count. Thanks!

Where did all the recipes go?. When the One Top was part of the Tasty app there were hundreds of recipes that it said were compatible with the One Too. On the stand-alone app, there’s only 40 something. Where did all the recipes go? How fast are you planning on incorporating new ones? I’d love to be able to take almost any recipe from Tasty and use it with the One Top

Just doesn’t work. All I want to do is set a power level and monitor the meat thermometer. Why am I not allowed to do this simple thing? Why am I also not allowed to change power levels while cooking? Ugh!

Sous vide does not work!. I can type in the temp but there’s literally nowhere to go from there except close the app and start the process over again. There’s no enter, go, set, back, etc. buttons. This is so stupid.
