SVP in Finance. I am on the phone a lot and in meetings for work. I know it's important to have an authoritative voice but I don't have time to attend classes nor do I want to spend money on a dedicated coach. I love this app as I can do the exercises on the go, during my commute, or a coffee break and I get helpful tips and reminders.

Improvement after 3 sessions in 3 weeks!. I did the warm ups only a few times. My recordings show a major improvement! I went from squeaky Lauren Bacall to the real deal Bacall. Amazing. Highly recommend. Thank you, Astound!!

Can’t use without premium?. I downloaded the app, and it looks great, but I can’t seem to use it at all unless I pay for premium. Can’t tell if this is just a bug? But every single aspect of the app is locked. Why even offer a free download if there isn’t even a basic version?

Very useful!. As a lawyer, having a powerful voice is key. Thankfully this app helps me learn how to build that strong voice.

Great App. I am a busy physician and having a strong confident voice helps me in my interactions with my patients and colleagues. I have been looking for a way to improve my voice, especially for large public speaking events. I am very busy and don’t have the time for one on one training. This app is great and I can use it whenever I have free time. I have learned so much about my own voice and I am starting to notice improvements already. Highly recommend!

Great first step. Astound makes it easy to get your reps in every day. It's easy to find 3-5 minutes for the exercises and builds confidence in my voice.

The mic won’t record anything.. I can see how useful this could be, but the affirmations they have you say for whatever reason aren't being recorded. No matter how many times I try (on or off my airpods). It gives me an error message about nothing being recorded.

Fixed a crash quickly and responded. I have not used the app much but the developer replied to my review about the app crashing and it was fixed. I’ve only tried one session and it was fun

Boost of Confidence. Great app, never realized how much I would like or need something like this until I tried it. #1 has helped me to speak more directly with confidence. I feel more relaxed and effective. And it’s just fun.

Left more to be desired. This is generally a good app, but with some rough edges. I did the 30 day challenge, which I felt gave me some good help with my voice. However, there were a few things I disliked, which all contribute to one big thing: there wasn’t enough attention to detail in the design of this app. Here’s why: - There were quite a few typos. - Numerous tips are given to you to help improve your voice (such as speaking is just breathing out) but there isn’t anything like a cheat sheet to help you remember these in case you forget - The 30 day challenge tells you voice training is something you need to practice each day, but doesn’t tell you how to after it is completed. - It is hard to tell the difference in purpose between the “out of bed” and “early bird” workouts. Their names seem like they mean the same thing: a workout you do early in the day. All in all, the voice training given in the app is excellent. The app’s design just needs to given more attention to detail.

Love this app.. I can’t believe this app is free- I love it and am so surprised by how my voice has improved since beginning my practice.

Great! Is there even a paid version!?. Demonstrative videos and tips and beautiful aesthetics, this app is so great. My goal is to increase my projection and all the relaxing exercises really help with immediate results.

Amazing!. I am a busy surgeon who is also giving talks at national meetings. I was looking for ways to elevate my vocal presence on stage and came across Astound. I have been using it for a few weeks now and must say I am blown away. It’s been guiding me step by step on how to improve my voice and I feel confident as ever in my speaking abilities both publicly and in private with my patients. Seems great but major glitches. I like the lessons but whenever I try to record an audio I get an error message or the app closes. Tried restarting, changing network connection, keeps happening

Another reviewer whose app crashes. I’ve emailed the developers twice with no response. Extreme waste of the yearly subscription I bought. Developers like the subscription model and I bought into it because I saw value in the app but one does expect responses when what they’ve paid for no longer works. I expect that this review will get a similar response to what previous reviewers have gotten - please send an email. Well I have done that already. I would like the developers to please respond.

Stopped working. When I first started using this app I was very impressed. I stopped using it for awhile, I recently decided to start using it again but this time I was going to pay for the premium version. I’m happy I started using it before the free trial was up, the app no longer works. Every time I go to listen to my recording it sends me to my Home Screen. I was able to cancel before I was charged. I’m now on the hunt for a similar app.

Solid app but needs to fix bugs. The content is very helpful but the app keeps crashing and I need to start the daily course from the beginning. Hopefully the bugs are fixed soon.

Very user friendly. The app is very intuitive and beautifully designed. I do a little bit of public speaking and its been very useful so far. Five stars !!

Improvement in just two weeks!. I just gave a presentation to a group in a large conference room. For the first time ever, I felt like I had plenty of breath and I could reach the back row without straining my voice. I didn’t have to keep clearing my throat. That tremor in your voice when you are nervous? NOT a problem! The exercises seem so simple but they really worked for me. In the past I always thought that I don’t sound as confident as I feel and this app has helped me turn that around. Contrast this with the speech coach who wanted $8000 for six months of online coaching. I feel that this app is a fantastic deal! A big thank you to the developers.

Great app. Helps you day by day.. I used to do some public speaking and wish I had this app sooner.

Can’t even try it out. There is nothing I can try out without the app asking me to sign up for pro. They are basically catfishing people to download the app for “free” so you can pay for everything once downloaded. Seems like a scam

App is amazing but glitchy. The my profile view is just a dead black screen. The subscription doesn’t really highlight what I’m paying for, seems like I have access to the app either way.

I do love the app itself but.... I wanted to train my voice to be deeper and more resonating so I’ve been using this app as a part of my morning routine. I do love the contents and could tell the difference almost immediately, as I got more conscious of the impact my body and mind can have on my voice. I also like how the app eases you into various techniques. That said, the app needs to be updated more often. Due to some bugs, it keeps shutting down as soon as I click on the icon. There’s a bit of buffering for, like 3 seconds, and then it shuts down. This has happened before and also this last 4,5 days. I also don’t know why I get logged out so often as well as the routine I choose (e.g. “speaking in front of a group” or “articulation”) doesn’t come up as the very first thing on top. Last time I was on the app, the category I had downloaded didn’t play Day 2 for some reason and I was stuck in Day, even though I already finished that routine twice. Given that it’s a training app that requires one patience and consistency to keep up, it’s so frustrating that technical glitches like these occur this often and in so many different ways to sabotage my desire to develop a good habit. Plus, I have a 6-month deal and it feels like I’m not getting the most out of what I paid for. I really hope they’re able to fix these issues so that it can become the greatest app that it truly deserves to be.

Great app for self improvement. Where was this app last week? I had a presentation and was very nervous to speak in public. This app has been providing me with the skills necessary to be more confident when speaking in public. Game changer!

Great way to stay mindful of my speaking voice!. Beautifully designed, intuitive and effective! I’ve just started using it but am already feeling more relaxed about my speaking voice.

Simply Amazing. Day 1 my voice registered a sad 55! I also noticed a 5-6 second pause before I spoke. Just a few lessons later and I’ve doubled my score. This app rocks! I’m also taking a class and this is so much faster.

Progress Stalled. Great app I’m noticing tons of improvement with my tone and it’s a great confidence boost. However recently one of the lesson videos no longer loads which prevents me from moving passed it for that days session. Same goes for the focused subject sessions that include that broken lesson.

Great potential,but.... This app is fun and easy to use. The lessons are great and I love that I can compare past recordings of my voice. After a couple of days I decided to subscribe via my email. I signed up on my iPad and I can’t access the paid content on the iPhone app. Another issue on the iPad app the description of the lessons don’t fully show up. For example: “This pack helps you find your authentic vocal pitch so that you can gain your listeners trust and make them trul...” I tried deleting the app and signing in again yet still I have the same issues. This app has a ton of potential and I really hope these problems can be fixed as I’d love to go through more of the lessons.

Videos crashing.. The idea of the app sounds promising however everytime I have to play a video for the daily challenges I’m not able to. The video stops every second and I have to click play just for it to stop half a second later. So pretty much I’m not able to have use for the app which is disappointing.

Great for learning basic skills. I’ve been a comedian for a while and I’m looking for ways to improve voice training is definitely making a difference and just a few simple exercises is making a huge change. Fun app!

Nothing to try without premium. I was hoping to at least try one lesson without having to subscribe for anything. Technically speaking, there is a “free” trial “after” you subscribe for one of the premium options. So it’s impossible to rate for quality of content when there are barriers to try content.

Going around in circles. Hello, this is a response to Robin’s response to my earlier review. Robin, you suggested I send you an email via the contact us button. That’s what I did and it did not get answered. In your response, you also provided a link to contact the developer, which goes to a Facebook page that has not been updated since 2019. I would be willing to try the app with a monthly subscription. However, as noted in all my previous correspondence, there does not seem to be any way to actually get a monthly subscription.

Looking for this for years. I am a high energy, fast talking, at times lazy mumbling, think out loud person but let’s get to next topic. I have been speaking fast all my life and dealing with clarity/articulation issues. Frustrated by the advice “just talk slower” (most frequently by mom). This wasn’t working for my brain and is impractical advice, I looked for books and exercises to practice to improve my speech. Where are the exercises King George VI used?? 😂 How costly is a speech pathologist? Thankful this app was invented for a common and overlooked challenge many have!! People have commented on how I am talking more clearly and definitely getting less “what?”. And I realized SO much more goes into clear communication besides “talk slower” e.g. pitch, lazy tongue, opening mouth more, etc. Some of these exercises I have come across in books but having an app to track and demonstrate is invaluable. Many books/podcasts focus on public speaking or other focus. This breaks down where our speech is garbled in day to day communication and why certain problems occur. And something I think everyone would benefit from trying once. Only minor inconvenience — It is a new app so crashes every once in awhile but it is very user friendly and continually updated, so not a deal breaker — especially when nothing like this exists or that I have found to help.

Great feedback. I’m recording feature of this is the best out there. I have compared a few and this allows you to record and get feedback on tempo and amplitude. It’s as helpful as the exercises.

Just great!. I am an architect and a big part of my job involves speaking to groups of people with a confident voice. This app has been great in improving that ability, I have found it particularly useful as a voice warm up before big client presentations. Thank you astound!!!

Paid content only. All of the exercises are locked for premium subscriptions only. I would have liked to explore the app before purchasing. Instead I’m deleting it.

Amazing App. Love this App. have started to use it every day and have seen some excellent results. I’ve never been able to fold my tongue, but after using this App I found that my tongue flexibility has greatly improved and can easily fold it now. I am also learning a great deal about how to improve my speaking ability

Great. This app is great I found my voice some thing different I always refused to record my voice while talking to friends because I wasn’t satisfied with my voice but now I have a confidence to record it.

It actually works. I often think things like this are bogus, but when they said the post workout recording sounded deeper, I could actually hear it. The one issue I have is it has a couple bugs that cause it to crash.

It’s something new. I like it, nothing quite like the app. I wasn’t really trying to improve my voice but I know it needed improvement anyway, and then I ran into this app while strolling for other apps and I thought I should give it a try because, why not? Turns out I really like it.

Perfect! Just what I always wanted after all these years. I love the little suggested short exercise before an important phone call, a work meeting and more.

Very good but. I am locked out of my current subscription. Tons of clever exercises blending mind/body discipline like yoga, ChiGong , and actors workshop, all of which I am familiar with but the sets are well thought-out. The pace is excellent and the model is really great ( beautiful and friendly face with clear motions that teach well)!.However I would repeat each session 2 or 3 times to be fully warmed up. I like it a lot but do I need to once again delete and reinstall to recover my subscription ? I already lost a crop of recordings ( very useful function ! ) thank you great job.

Don’t download don’t buy. This app is an absolute joke. How the **** am I supposed to improve my speech when everything is locked? Just a cheap cash grab and attempt to get you to buy the premium. A three day trial isn’t enough to even see slight improvement or convince me to buy it

So far so good. Previously it didn't work on any legacy devices running ios10 - the developer got in touch to work out the problem which is a great touch. The app for is wonderful in comparison to other voice couching apps on the store. Its actually one of the few apps developed that is focused on speech as opposed to a singing voice development app. It fills the niche nicely and while it does require a subscription after three lessons the voice recording feature remains free and you have information and techniques to at least get the ball rolling. If you want change you have to commit. If I could.give feedback it would change the.video length to allow the person to.complete the full exercise during the length of the video - I.find I do the exercise for as long as the video plays ; when it ends regardless of where I am I continue to the next exercise.

Enjoyable. The cool thing about it is you will be able to compare your own voice every day and the feedback is given by the app.

Stuck at Baseline Recording. App begins with a baseline recording. I keep doing mine over and over and app doesn’t go anywhere or progress. Not a good beginning.

Trash. Trash, the thing is mostly repetitive videos. They offered me their 1 week trial, I forgot to cancel it before the trial end, instead of charging me for the 1 month for $9.99, they went and charge me a 1 year plan for $49.99.

Just a bunch of physical exercise videos and hardly any speech training.. I downloaded this to give it a try after using a couple other speech coaching apps. You can access 1 baseline recording which has you practice a speaking a single sentence. Then anything else you want to do requires a premium membership. I did the trial thinking if I liked the features, I would subscribe. I can’t believe you have to have a premium membership to watch 1min modules on people doing random physical exercises like deep breathing and massaging your jaw - something you can easily read online or YouTube for FREE. I went through them thinking at the end there would be some speech practice. No. It’s another recording where you only say one sentence. This method will never help you improve your tempo, pitch, or projection. I cancelled the trial and deleted it after 1 day. Orai might be a better tool if you’re fine with the price.

Module videos do not load. I purchased a monthly subscription and when I attempt to go through the different videos they do not load and a blank screen appears.

Repetitive exercises. More based on warm ups than in speech trainings. The app Orai is a lot more interesting for my case.

Videos take too long to load. The app is simple and easy to use, BUT the videos they use take too long to use. Every second or two it pauses so I have to keep rewinding... It’s irritating. My internet speed is fine- I can watch videos on youtube and Safari just fine, but this app? It’s more trouble than it’s worth

Great Concept. Great Concept but it crashes after the setup process

Great app and concept, but few bugs and inconsistencies. It’s a really interesting concept and effective app, as it’s made a noticeable difference, which is awesome. But there are some bugs that make it harder to navigate the app: the exercise videos will buffer and stop and need to be restarted in the 30 day challenge set (sometimes they even get mixed and correlate to an earlier exercise in the sequence, which requires the app or the daily challenge to be restarted), the name of the first exercise after the body scan sometimes isn’t stated (which is minor but makes it harder to track down when compiling an exercise playlist), and lastly, if I want to go back to figure out the exercise names, I have to go through the whole set for the day again (maybe it would beneficial to make the lesson modular after someone has completed it)? And in terms of the actual exercises, they are super helpful, but the app rarely tells the user how many “reps” they need or how long each exercise needs to be done in the video. This seems like a missing piece that makes the exercise a little confusing, especially for a sustained practice outside of the app itself. I think with these tweaks, the app can become great since it’s such a unique concept with an otherwise fun interface (the daily recording and tracking is awesome). I hope the developers can make these changes in the future, they’ve already done a great job. Updated: At one point my app didn’t open at all. I had to erase all my old recordings, delete, then reinstall to get the app the back online. When I realized where the glitch is I let the developers know. The developers didn’t respond to my email where I told them where the glitch is and it’s still there. So not only did I lose a lot of data, but the glitch is still hasn’t been corrected. The content is good while the app itself is not quite there.

videos never load for me. i was initially very committed to learning but the videos dont load and its very upsetting to lose momentum over a technical issue like this. i know youll try to fix it but shouldnt it all be working before you ask someone to pay for a product thats broken?

Awesome!. I have to talk all day long for work, and when it gets really stressful (think trade show etc), my voice becomes hoarse quickly. I used to buy all these cough drops, lozenges etc. But breathing techniques and voice training are so much more effective.

Excellent (If not broke). This app is excellent, amazing, and it has so many wonderful features! If only I could access most of them in the first place, as everything except voice recordings are locked behind subscription paywalls.🙃
