Essential for iPad Development. If you plan on doing any web development on your iPad, pick this up. Great developer tools. The ability to turn off the cache is essential and the console and inspection tools work wonderfully. Easy 5 stars.

Essential App for Web Developers. Does what it says it does and does it quite well.

Doesn’t work with iPad. I updated this app and it doesn’t working with iPad, please fix it quickly 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Wow!. I sit at work all day debugging on 3 large screen monitors. I chuckled a bit when I first saw this app but seriously, WOW! The mere fact that I can’t inspect a nodes box model, change some css properties, sort/analyze network requests, view/edit local/session storage is pretty ridiculous for a phone app. These guys did a phenomenal job incorporating webkits’ debugging capability’s into a small screen. Although I laugh at the idea of actually using this on my iPhone, I could see it being actually useful for those on an iPad. That being said, actual developers probably don’t own iPads but rather surfaces or chrome books because Apple won’t expose runtimes or compilers on their mobile or tablet devices... hence why you can’t set breakpoints in scripts in this app. Some of the panels & windows can be a little finicky operating but considering the capabilities of this app I’d find it hard to believe anyone could do it better. A nice feature would be a json/js beautifier when viewing in sources tab. Keeping in mind that the compiler is off limits, I would think it’s definitely possible to run scripts through a static syntax highlighter for easy viewing.

Please fix for iPhone 4 inch. The menu bar issues while keyboard popup.

missing basic features. i liked this app but i think it’s missing basic browser features like choosing preferred search engine on url bar so if any user would like to use google as his search engine, and i don’t know why i cannot set my preferred homepage or bookmarking websites because at the end it’s a browser even though it has developer features! anyone else may would like to use it as his default ipad browser. i would give this browser 10 stars if this features were implemented. thank you

Can I have a refund..... Not what I was expecting but was worth testing this app out... if the developer can reply back than be great!

Must have app for me.. Great app for web development on the go. iPad wont be a true laptop replacement but it comes close. This app has most of the stuff I need. Hope the developer will continue to add more features and support

Best I’ve found for iPadOS. I’m transitioning more and more to my iPad when I can but there are certain things I have to pull the Mac out for. I don’t have the expectation that this app perform flawlessly all the time, but it works very well for most purposes and makes it so I have one less thing I have to pull the Mac out for in 95% of instances I need a web inspector in my use cases. I consider it $7 well spent and thank the developer for their work.

This app is game-changing. I’ve been doing personal web development via a remote server from my iPad (almost exclusively) for a year now. This app is a game changer for me. Specifically being able to modify and adjust CSS like in a desktop web inspector, as well as easily modifying the DOM. Sounds simple coming from desktop web development world, but I haven’t found another app that does this. I would highly suggest spreading the word so that this app can continue to get attention and polish. The other web-dev apps I used were so-so and lost a lot of attention over time, and this app is already great so I hope the developer runs with it!

Doesn't show all the headers. Why don't you just show all the headers. Tons were omitted, including some that I needed. lame.

Nice. Pretty cool app. I like how it lets you Inspect Element on your iPad. But...could you make the UI nicer? If you could put the element console as a floating window that you could move anywhere on your screen, that would be cool.

Must have for Web App Developers. This is everything I had hoped it would be... if you develop using chrome’s inspect element and other tools you will not be disappointed. Tap to inspect element takes you right to the element you are trying to assess figure out what is happening with. It allows you to put in specific responsive sizes - which means even though this is on an ipad - you can scale it to a desktop resolution or a phone - YES! Inline style adjustments! View the console, network... this has it all. You can put your inspector on the side or the bottom - I am just thrilled with this app.. thrilled! VERY HAPPY! SO if you are a web app developer who has been wanting to develop on your ipad on the go - this is a must-have option. Using this alongside a good editor like CODA (which has ssh, web dav, multiple site management etc) and design tools like photoshop for ipad - you can do it and leave your laptop at home.

Does everything except shadow-root. I’m quite happy so far while coding in Angular or React. However, if you work with web components, e.g. Angular Element, the Inspect Browser’s DOM view does not expand into the shadow root. But the browser can still detect the styles within the web component. So, it still has some use.

Finally!. I have been waiting for an app that does this since iPad's have existed. The lack of dev tools has always been the reason I couldn't effectively use my iPad for web development. I love that this app lets you simulate different devices and screen resolutions, perfect for writing CSS media queries. I also love the ability to live-edit CSS and see changes just like I would in chrome.

Best app out there bar none!!. This is hands down the best app for inspecting pages you could ever ask for. It’s quite literally the only app that can truly find the source of SVG maps, JS errors, etc. Totally worth anything you spend times ten!!

Outstanding!. Wonderful app, which brings features to the iPad Pro which allows you to carry it as the sole device rather than a Macbook. The app is very stable and the developers obviously listen to customer feedback. This is how it is DONE!!!

Great app for devlopers. Stopped working on iOS 13.3, Just hangs, can do anything when opening. *Update* had to delete app and reinstall working now on 13.3

WOAH. This app is seriously impressive. While I’m at a loss as to why this isn’t available in a developer version of Chrome or Safari, I am *so* grateful that someone took the time to make this. I have ordered the new iPad Pro and I am excited to see what the workflow is like, given this app. I will update this review after testing. Please do not discontinue development on this app!

Works now. Uninstalled and reinstalled works now

I was stunned!!!. This App is amazing and a big kudos to developers I don’t need to carry my laptop I can look for network logs, inspect a element modify the styles. Thank you much for making this App 😊😊😊

Must have for web devs. Sometimes I’m not by my computer and have to troubleshoot a client issue. This is an invaluable tool on my phone to do just that. Gave 4/5 since I’m unable to close tabs on my iPhone XS—clicking the “x” doesn’t do anything. Would also like if it came with a share sheet integration to launch quickly from Safari/Chrome. Other than that amazing.

If you’re reading this, buy this app.. I had my reservations about this app before buying, but it is exactly what I’ve wanted. This is the thing I needed to completely get all my dev work on my iPad possible. It has all the features you’d expect from a web inspector on the iPad: resizing the panels works flawlessly, multitasking is enabled and drag and drop works inside the web browser and console. It has all the features you would expect from your browser’s DEV tools: - Tap on an item to inspect it - View the whole DOM tree with elements being collapsible - View the CSS rules being applied to the element you’re looking at and edit them - Responsive design view - Ability to disable cache when loading a page Here are the only issues I’ve found with it so far: - The text when being inputted into the console is not monospace, which is just a minor issue (the output is monospace and configurable) - Sometimes the DOM view bugs out with how the text is displayed. It is still functional but not easily readable. Fixed when page is refreshed - The app would be more smooth if it supported keyboard shortcuts. Like CMD+option+i to toggle the dev tools and using the arrow keys to navigate the DOM I hope that the app developer changes this to some sort of subscription because I would happily pay $5 a month for this app, $6 for forever is insane and I want this app supported. Plus, if it is a subscription people can do a free trial and realize this is the app they’ve always needed. I think making the app look a little more familiar looking to other dev tools may help people purchase this app too, because at first I did not notice the power that this app has. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS

Good for simpler sites. Doesn’t really work on more complex sites

Great app for crazy people. This app is a must have if your crazy enough to do web dev on an ipad. UI could use a little polish for 2018 iPads with the home indicator, especially when in split screen with another app. But despite that, this app enables web dev on a device that offers few tools to make it possible.

Finally!. I’ve been waiting for this app for so long! Works great so far. Basically the closer to Chrome inspect it gets the better. Since iPad keyboard is not the greatest for dev, CSS auto suggestions would be appreciated.

Lots of Great Potential. The best app for inspecting web elements on iOS so far. Needs polish, but has been very useful. Currently in need of the ability to view :before and :after pseudo-elements.

Great on iPad. I find Inspect is great on iPad. On iPhone Xs it doesn’t work since when I try to paste or type in the url field the keyboard comes up and pushes the content up covering the url field. Super frustrating. If this is fixed, it’s a five star iOS app.

Essential tools for web dev on iPad, works. I have only been using this app a short time now, but I can say that it works as promised. Element Inspector? Check. HTML source? Check. JavaScript console? Check (no Debugger, though). Cookie/local storage browser? Check. Network trace? Check. All of these critical features seem to work, and are absolutely essential to portable delving. I can’t find anything else like it out there. Easily worth $7. That said, there are certainly some bugs and some missing features, and it does feel a bit “rough around the edges.” Honestly, I can’t complain, though. It aims to be a critical tool in my new ultra-portable setup moving forward. I truly hope that the developers will continue to make releases for this app into the future. Thanks!

Webpage Screenshot Feature. Since the release of iOS13 the webpage screenshot feature went from partially functional to completely broken. Id appreciate if this malfunction is resolved as it proves quite convenient.

This app is exactly what I have been looking for.. I will be giving a more thorough review at a later time but I wanted to immediately provide a comment here to express my views on this app. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Needless to say, an iPad will not replace a laptop/desktop when it comes to web development but man does this app provide me the extra bit of convenience I need to view a page source, execute functions from within the console, and jam out a bit of css here and there on existing or new elements! There are times when I cannot be whipping out a laptop just to do these little bit of “testing and poking” and I have always been bummed that such an app like this did not exist (or so I thought). To the developer(s): Please implement a way for me to obtain a selector for a chosen element, similar to how in Google Chrome we can right click > copy > copy selector (or JavaScript path). Also, can you provide me a way to view the “Elements and console” in the same panel? Your app is already a 5 star app, I love it. If you could implement the above two things, then this would really be more than I could have hoped on an iPad (without using Jump, Chrome RDT, MS RDT to connect to my desktop). Thank you so much for coming up with this app. I do hope you find this review helpful.

Exactly what I was looking for!. On light coding days, I prefer to work on my ipad (I walk everywhere, lighter to carry). It sucked that couldn’t easily view the generated source, and always had to clear the Safari cache. This app solved both of those problems! Bonus: allowed me edit the source in the app browser, and edit with different Responsive views. WIN!!! Thank you for your hard work developer :)

Liberated from my laptop at last. Amazing! While it doesn't offer *every* feature of a desktop browser inspector, it offers a very substantial amount of it - enough that I can now develop more or less full time on my iOS device. For any web developer hoping to use an iPad for both coding and testing, this is an absolute must-have app.

Does just what it says on the tin, and more!. This is an incredible app, and for the price? Even more mind blowing. This app replicates many of the featured you'd expect from the web developer tools in a full featured desktop computer browser - on your iPad! No bothering to a Mac required! Super cool for anyone who might want to pull out the magnifying glass and do a deep dive into how their favorite site is put together. Seriously impressive quality here top to bottom. Well done!

Works well. Very much like browser development tools in approach. Anyone who has used Firebug or dev extensions on desktop browsers will feel right at home here. Even works on the iPhone, though much more usable on the iPad.

Outstanding, can’t wait for more!. Thank you for bringing this tool to us. There’s a LOT of work that can be done on the go or on a machine like this. I can’t wait to keep using it. Right now the only thing that I wish I could do was customize the interface more. Just random thoughts: - Showing/hiding ANY toolbars - Maybe a toolbar system where you could drag/drop the windows around (I do see the view switch options which are helpful) - Option to hide the tab bar - Small icons/UI scale Again, I’m having so much fun in this and thank you for making a great tool.

Necessary for Web dev on an iPad.. I travel frequently for work and sometimes I just don’t want to bring my laptop. My iPad Pro allows me to do some programming without my laptop and a large part of that is due to this app. Now the app is nowhere close to having the functionality of chrome but a large portion of that is due to the limitations of iOS. I am confident they will continue to refine this app and it was worth the $.

Exceeded Every Expectation. I ask this as a genuine question: how do people not carry you around on their shoulders all day cheering and singing your praises? The inspect capabilities in this browser are phenomenal. You have saved me untold amounts of time and heartache QAing and debugging. I salute you!

I’m a believer. Helped me fix my stylesheet.. I have a very simple-minded CSS that I thought was bomb-proof. I went through devices I’ve never owned and learned different. A simple fix to one little cascade I hadn’t noticed, and problem solved. (It was a danged media query with an aspect ratio stoopidly calculated. Mins and maxes and orientations: lesson learned.) Very handy. No need to whip out the laptop anymore.

How to enter multi line scripts in console?. Is there a way to enter multi line scripts in console?

Broken on iPad. The JS console is empty on iPad iOS 11, and no matter what I type there is no response. Works on iPhone. But even there when I tap elements tab the app freezes and I have to kill it. Maybe because my website is updating the dom every 16ms.

Devs! You need this app.. This is by far the best web dev app out there. The best part is emulating different screen sizes in the browser. Trust me. This is the app you want.

Update Element button is broken. Update Element button is broken

Puts the Pro in iPad Pro. This is an indispensable app for web development using the iPad. There are a handful of developers who care about power users on the iPad, and the developer of Inspect Browser is one of them. I love the developer features and how much is revealed in them. It’s very close to desktop level browser developer tools. I can’t imagine there’s a ton of money in developer focused iPadOS apps, but I hope it’s worth the time and effort of ongoing development. Losing this one would really hurt. I have two improvement requests: 1) I wish the console pane would show errors like resources not loading, etc, which it doesn’t seem to, and 2) I would like to see file sizes in either network or resources or both. Recently I was doing image optimization and I needed to be able to see which size images the browser was pulling down and how many kb those were.

Impressed. Based on my first 10 minutes, color me impressed. As a front end developer who spends a great deal of time debugging in Chrome & Firefox web inspectors, I found it intuitive and useful. Was able to successfully run a simple jQuery method in the console and toggle CSS attributes exactly like in a desktop browser. Some less than intuitive behaviors I observed: unexpected pinch-to-zoom action (the whole viewport frame would shrink rather than just the page), couldn’t scroll the page in Inspect mode, and there was some Line 0 script errors w/o details. Any of these could be due to my lack of experience with the app but they seemed like they could be more obvious, if so. Regardless, I consider it worth the cost as a quick and easy way to do some debugging on iOS (I tried it on iPhone Xs, which made everything crowded, but entirely useful in a pinch.)

Awesome app needs refining. This app is an awesome inspect element/debug tool but crashes fairly often. I would like the ability to save profiles like the elements and HTML edits so whenever you go to a webpage you can load up a preset. Fix the crashing and this would easily be a 5 star app top 3 apps for inspect element and editing webpages

Doesn’t work to inspect CSS at all. I’ve tried multiple sites but this app only displays some errors the crashes. I want my money back. I’m a developer with 20 years experience, this app is useless to me. Amazing it has any positive reviews.

Self signed cert issues. I am developing my website locally with a self signed cert. This is common practice. However the app returns "Error An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made." Even after turning off the "Validate SSL Certificates" option. Oddly enough, it did allow the page to load the first time I toggled the option off, then after closing it and reopening in a new tab it will no longer allow the exception. This is a major blocker for me, I simply can't use the app without being able to develop locally over https. Also, the site is working in Safari so I know it's not an issue with my site. I would like to hear back from the developer on this. Please advise.

Amazing. I was hesitant to download this because I found a caching problem with most similar solutions. However, after doing some research, and seeing someone claim they could do all their web dev with this, I gave it a shot. No regrets, amazing app.

Does not support React. All good for simple websites but this browser cannot handle React state changes. Not useful for debugging React.

So well developed.. This is a must have tool for people do iOS web debugging but don’t have a Mac in hand.

help. half the websites say browser not supporter

Very handy tool. Does what it says and nicely presented too. Helped me solve a mystery layout issue that only manifested itself on a real iPad.

Well underrated, worth every cent. This is by far the best inspector for iPad OS. I’m always coding on the go with my magic keyboard, and I’ve never had an issue working through this app. A few things that I wish was there: 1. The ability to use Safari search history, or move over as I cross over desktop and tablet a lot. 2. A network tab, to see XHR requests/HTTP requests. 3. Better syntax highlighting. Right now it only highlights a small block of code, it would be great to highlight the whole row and make it a bit more obvious. 4. The ability to select a viewport that is default and always used when loading up the app/opening new tabs.

Awesome tool for debugging web apps. Greatly simplifies debugging web apps on iOS devices, and an essential tool when developing directly on an iPad

I was surprised. I’m transitioning to work more and more from my iPad and as a web developer this is what i was missing, I have tested multiple tools but until now i found the app i was missing.

Pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t expecting much from this app but I gotta say it’s pretty good. Works well for inspecting basic CSS/HTML and testing responsive designs at different resolutions. It even has a basic network panel and features like disabling JavaScript or caching and even full-page screenshots.

So very pleased!. I am ridiculously pleased with my purchase ... I spent too long trying to track down a CSS issue on a site in development that was only impacting iOS. I found and fixed the issue in literal minutes after acquiring this app.

Invaluable App. As a web developer who primarily works on an iPad Pro, I rely on this app every day. It’s simply the best web inspector browser on the App Store. Keep the updates coming!! :-) Also! Even non-developers will find this app very useful when they need to visit websites at large desktop screen resolutions not offered by their mobile device.

Fantastic App for real web front-end development. I can't thank the producers of this app enough for making this much needed development tool for iOS. The flexible responsive preview box is just such a delightful relief! The "tap to select" feature under "elements", is super awesome and smooth (and takes you directly to the related element in the DOM) ah what a relief :) The addition of the new feature that lets you edit HTML and CSS for a quick preview, now makes this a desktop level inspector. That new feature addition just made this app a perfect 5. Well done guys! And thank you!

Works and worth it. Trying to fix CSS (like in firebug) on a tablet was elusive for me. I tried all kinds of workarounds. All clumsy and ineffective. This app works. For example This latest version lets you select an area on a page and let's you test edit the changes in the CSS or HTML and see the result. According to some reviews on a previous version of this app you were not able to test edit. The developer promised to add that feature -- and he did in this new version. Rowby Worth every penny

Can't change HTML. HTML changes are not reflected.

Disappinted. So the JavaScript errors are reported and that’s great... but the source code do not have a row number... so that defeated the purpose since you can not find the reported error.... amateurish at best....

Good Web-dev Viewing. This app does exactly as described, but I was hoping though that I could edit my html and css elements and see the resulting views in this app for testing. When the feature to see these test changes to the site is added, I will be giving this app 5 stars.

This app is the real deal. It deserves much more recognition.. I never write reviews, but I've been searching for this app since I got my iPad. It's the answer to the lack of web development tooling on iOS devices, and is more feature-filled than I thought possible on a mobile platform. It has everything I use Chrome devtools for, and has a solid, professional interface. I plan on using this app for the majority of my web development. Furthermore, the developer seems very invested in the app, and seems to be actively developing it. This app is the future of the iPad-only lifestyle for programmers who feel slightly too tied to their Macbook Pros. I'm completely serious.

Not quite there.. Purchased this app to debug an issue for work that only happens on a physical iPad. Safari doesn’t show elements after a recent update so it was my hope I could use this. The tap to select does literally nothing but highlight the element. It doesn’t show where the element is in the dom, or give me any way to debug which is exactly what I needed it for. Complete waste of money. This is a work site so I can’t send it to the developers to find out what the issue is. Is there some trick to getting all elements to display?

Nice app, but missing a few features.. Great app. It’s nice to have some form of web inspector on the iPad. I’m rating 3*, as it is missing a few common features. You don’t have the ability to “pretty print” JavaScript. I’d love to have a de-minifiy and de-obfuscate, using source maps (if available). I couldn’t find a way to set breakpoints or use step-by-step debugging. It’s great I can see the source code, but from a dev point of view, I can’t really edit JS on the fly. The Storage option is limited to cookies. I’d love to inspect Session, Local Storage, it doesn’t seem to show anything though. Having some insight to memory usage would be awesome.

Great tool for web site debugging on iPad. Inspecting elements, live changes, and Javascript console give me the most important features of Chrome developer tools on my iPad. A few features I would pay an upgrade fee for: 1. Display the output from expressions in JS console, don’t require console.log to see a variable or expression value. 2. Show HTTP headers. 3. Show cookies with option to clear specific cookies. Thanks for writing this, very useful for my work.

Finally A Web Inspector for IPad. Although it's a bit rough around he edges, this inspector actually works on the iPad. You can select elements with touch, and edit directly in app. Once split screen is enabled, and little glitches such as having to restart the side browser tab when selecting a new element are fixed, this will be my go to app. One step closer to replacing my computer with my iPad Pro.

A solid app, seems to have frequent updates. This app is super fast and allows you to use the JS console and see the CSS rules and computed values. You need to dig through the DOM manually, no ability to tap to select elements. For me the biggest wins would be the ability to edit HTML and CSS rules and have the page update so you can test changes (Dev said this is coming soon!). Code syntax highlighting would help and needs standard shortcuts for Cmd+L, Cmd+R, etc. The responsive testing mode work great - you can quickly test different viewport widths and even test wider layouts than your iPad supports via zoom. Recommended. EDIT: I completely missed the (really obvious) "Select by touch" toggle which works very well. Thanks for the reply and I'm looking forward to the next update!

Ehh.. No EMCA 6 Support (Updated). It’s pretty cool to have a browser with inspector, so props to that. But for any serious developer, this doesn’t support EMCA6. You can debug react apps or even use any modern JS. That’s pretty weak. Still, it’s well designed, but they definitely dropped the ball on the JS engine. It’s a decent start and heading in the right direction. For anybody considering this for modern development, I’d recommend saving the $7, for now. I’ll update my review should the time come in the future that’s it’s deemed appropriate. Edit: after reviewing the developers comment, I tried a different example ([1,2,3].forEach(x=>console.log(x))) and this worked. Originally, I had tested using a “let” and was greeted with an error. My guess is that this is rather a scope issue than a EMCA issue. Also, assuming the developer is correct (which he is) regarding all iOS apps using the same engine, this can’t be the developers fault and as such, I’ve updated my rating to 5/5.

Excellent App!. This browser does exactly what I need it to do! 5 Stars! It would be nice if there was a ‘find’ search included in the source code window though.

This app makes web development possible on iPad. Wow - please don’t give up on this app. This app allows web development on iPadOS. You can easily code on the iPad with codespace, codesandbox etc, and this app is the closest desktop web inspector out there. Absolutely amazing work. Thank you.
