Deceptive Ads “iPhone storage full warnings”. The Action News Now app allows ads to run that are deceptive with false warnings to appear as if they are coming from your phone. An ad on March 8, 2023 6:50am repeats the message “storage almost full clean your phone right now” and a “clean it now!” button (a website link) is in the center of the screen. Fortunately I have some tech knowledge and know my phone has plenty of storage but I would be concerned for seniors or parents etc… seeing this. Also with the rate of fraud increasing it makes me concerned that if Action News Now allows ads with links like this on its app that they are not aware to eliminate bad actors who use deception to trick Action News Now customers into clicking on links.

Too Much Self Promotion & Outdated PSAs. Every time I open the “live” broadcast link, I get at least 5 minutes of self promotion and often outdated community event advertising. Now, I just click on the few newsworthy articles and weather report and skip the “live” broadcast.

Irritating commercials. With the new commercials I had to delete the app It’s not worth having to endure the casino app or the teen soap opera ad. I wish I could give negative stars

What what. At a certain time of a video it stops randomly I did everything reset my phone nothing safe mode nothing close the app nothing but the vid says it's still going but it's not

Action news. I had this ap on my phone and it worked fine and then it got infected with a Trump Ad that wouldn’t go away and wouldn’t let the news info come through. So I had to delete the ap. I deleted and reloaded it 5 times and now the ads will play but after that they won’t go away. I am really frustrated. I will probably have to delete again and just keep it off!

Intrusive ads. The ads in this app are distracting to the point of making the app unusable.

Horrible. A few months ago, I received a notification that this was to be the replacement to another app (under the same name) for local news. Ever since installing this so-called "replacement" on multiple devices, it constantly crashes, leads to blank articles, and notifications of "breaking news" lead to non-existent articles. Completely frustrating because the older app worked perfectly. This appears to be mainly a web-app that can't even perform the simple function of laying out website based material. Very disappointing.

Need an Editor. The typos and errors are constantly on the increase. When did grammar take such a low priority and is anyone smart enough to be embarrassed?

Needs Work. A news story notification come on the screen and I click on it. One would think it would open the app and take you to the story. But not always and then you can’t find the news you were interested to see. Try the search, stories from last year pop up, but not the current news. I can’t go back a re-tap the notification because that’s gone too. The item I was interested in was real relevant to something happening now, I won’t even care tomorrow. The app is titled Action News “NOW” isn’t it?

Click Bate or News?. If not paying attention the click bate is easily disguised as important news articles on this app.

The New Ads Finally Made Me Delete This. The new video ads that play every single time you open the app are ridiculous, just delete it and go to the website. This is one app that progressively got worse, not better.

Not bad, could be better though. I like this app overall, but lately some stories aren’t missing anything but the photo. The load icon just keeps spinning, and it’s kind of frustrating because it seems to only happen on the stories I care about, lol Also: why ON EARTH are the only video ads FOR Action News Now? We obviously already watch/read ANN, otherwise we wouldn’t even have the app in the first place. It’s just redundant, repetitive, and annoying, cuz it’s always the same dang ad. WE GET IT. YOU ARE ACTION NEWS NOW. Please stop beating us over the head with it! Maybe offer ad slots to local businesses instead? You’d make money on those sales as opposed to wasting the ad space to shamelessly plugging yourselves, and people in the community MIGHT actually benefit from it. Just a thought.

Get some new ad content. I’m done watching, constantly playing the ad for the grip, can’t you get local as content? This rims on a loop and plays over and over. I’m deleting this app. Going to KRCR news apl

Poorly designed App even after updates!!!. What is so hard About publishing the News & Weather? Here it is Wednesday afternoon, Jan 17 2018, and they are telling me about MONDAY’s weather. But is it last Monday or next Monday? Who Cares right now about “Monday’s”weather! I just want to know about the current weather including maybe yesterday and tomorrow. What is the next storm going to bring? Also the big BANNER across the center of the screen doesn’t. The rest of the news app isn’t much better. Improve it or stop wasting your money and get rid of it.
