Great for Orangetheory!. I was looking for an app that could closely mimic the OTF display board but on my wrist. Using the Pro version of this app I can align my MHR and the %’s of MHR for each zone to those used by Orangetheory. I can now look to my wrist to see my current zone when I’m far from the OTF displays (usually on the weight floor). So far this is exactly what I was looking for. Only 2 workouts so far but the results appear close to what I see on the OTF displays.

Game Changer!. I love this app. It’s like having a personal coach. By using this app, I discover that I was doing a lot of exercises but I wasn’t conscious of making sure I hit Zone 4. By using this app, I can, now, monitor how long my heart rate stays in any particular zone for my my age and goals. I make sure it matches the zones that the Apple Watch uses but this app gives me way more data. I can not longer fool myself into thinking I worked out hard. I let this app help me to be the judge of that. I, now, make sure sure that I get my 75 minutes in the higher zone. I went for a trail run today and I can see the difference. Thank you for creating this app and allowing it to sync with my Apple Watch. The price is great. My only suggestion is to make it voice activate when I go into a different zone. Right now it vibrates but I still have to check to see if it’s a zone higher or lower. Thanks again.

Perfect!. I love everything about this app. It shows you everything the Apple Activity app is missing without needing to switch from using the native workout app on your Apple Watch. The layout is so nice and intuitive. My favorite part is that you can upgrade with just a one time payment! I hate subscriptions, but no need to worry about on this one.

Finally an app with hr notifications during run!. Finally an app that works with iWatch to tell you when you’ve left you’re HR zone in the middle of your run. I’ve been searching for an app that does this for awhile now. Of the few apps I’ve found, this one has been the easiest to use and the most aesthetically pleasing. Went ahead and got the PRO version so I could have the 5 zones instead of 4. Definitely worth it.

HIT Heart Stats. I wanted a simple and straight forward app for tracking the amount of time spent within my peak heart rate zone using my Apple Watch + iPhone. This is it! I can see stats by workout, by day and by week. Also tracks my recovery heart rate. Uses the Apple Health app to read and write data, which means it will sync with your other health kit compatible apps. And ... only one in app purchase to permanently enable all app features. The perfect companion for those of you following a High Intensity Training (HIT) routine. Thank you!

Love this app…but iOS 16 update toggles off heart rate data. I’ve used this app to track workouts 3 to 5 times a week for several years and love it! However, the Apple iOS 16 update toggled off the heart rate access, making the app useless. To toggle heart rate back on, go into Apple phone Settings // Health // Data Access & Devices // Zonesand turn Heart Rate and other settings to ON. Problem fixed!

World Health Organization?. The app is very intricate, without being confusing. After syncing the app with my current Health results I was not happy with my overall performance. This gave me tons more matrices to look at and see were I could personally do better. I bought the paid version and recommend you do also. If you find the free version intriguing, skip that morning coffee tomorrow, and grab the paid version. Well worth the Deeper Dive. My only comment is they reference using the WHO for some of its health guidelines. Maybe make them region specific? Dietary availability should be considered before using a source such as the WHO.

Lots to like but limited info options. I purchased the pro version of the app mostly because I liked the idea of getting a buzz when you entered a new zone as a form of motivation. Until now I had used the exercise app that comes with the watch. I haven’t had the glitch problems of others so in that sense it’s been reliable. My problem is that the app is really inflexible in terms of establishing goals and delivering into on the watch itself. I am not especially interested in how long I’ve been exercising but rather the distance I’ve covered. In the past I’ve had goals like 20 miles a week then 23 etc. this app does not allow for distance goals. Only time goals (e.g. 250 min of exercise a week). I want the face of the watch to tell me how far I’ve walked/ran not how long. I wish the settings would let me choose that preference.

Finally Someone Gets It.. Me: Thrice marathon runner and occasional gym rate. After several years bouncing around from app to app, I am now all in with Zones. An all on one, thoughtful interface that presents the important data with beautiful design. My routine now involves running, hot yoga and some weights. For over a year now I have tracked my progress all in one place. For you outdoor runners, the gps connection is fast and reliable. Has yet to stall, drop the connection or miss a beat.

Is $5.00 worth improving your health?. A very nice addition to the Apple Watch workout feature. In the “pro” version you can add other workouts to customize your program. The zones are color coded, as you aim towards your specific goal. You control the data via your “health” app on your iPhone, and can learn how well you are doing on the “Zones” app on the phone. The app records a plethora of information, and makes it easy to see where you need to improve. First starting , I hit my “fat burning” zone , and worked out for what I thought was a long time. The app begged to differ: only 3 minutes!! The only component missing is someone yelling at you,” GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND START YOUR WORKOUT!!”

Good but could use some simple improvements. Overall I really like it for seeing how much cardio I’m doing in the week. The design is great and I quickly paid for pro since it’s a one time purchase. It could use some improvements though. For example I wish it would let you customize what zones count as moderate and vigorous for your active score. For example the CDC recommends 64-76% of your heart rate for moderate and 77-93% for vigorous but the app forces you to use 50-69% for moderate intensity and 70%+ for vigorous. This makes my active score less accurate than I’d like. I also wish it had a widget for active score and not just zone time. Or a double widget with both active score and zone time for the week.

Works well. I mainly use this app while cycling, so my review is based around that. I enjoy hearing the zone sounds while I’m working out, since I’ve had issues with recording workouts with my watch in the past. Recently, I was 55 min deep into my ride, only to notice that even though the HR zones were still sounding, the ride had paused at 4 min. Joy. Next day, it happened again, but a bit further into the ride. Turns out that if you take a screen shot (of a song that’s playing and you want to remember it, easy enough to do without looking at watch) or tell your Apple Watch to remind you to do something later (best thinking comes while I’m on the bike), it pauses the workout, and you have no real way of knowing unless you are able to really look at your watch while moving (hard to do on moving bike and watch is worn on forearm). The app pauses when you are stopped, which I like, but since I would have to stop to see if the app was recording… You might be thinking “why don’t you hit resume or continue or whatever?” Because there is NO WAY to unpause the workout! So, Zones team, please fix the issue of pausing the app when things like a screen shot are taken or Siri is activated, or at least throw in a “resume” workout option.

Frustrating Glitches. Great, but very picky about what workout stats will sync. Arbitrary missteps will cause your data to be lost to Zones. An example: I use Polar Beat during my workouts and after I push “stop” in the Polar app I HAVE TO *also* push “done” after the workout summary screen or Zones will not record the workout, even though it is recorded and archived in my Polar app. Even after refreshing the Polar app. Even after refreshing the Zones app. Even after installing the newest versions of both apps. That’s incredibly frustrating after an intense hour long workout.

Absolutely love this app. I looked for an app for 3 weeks trying to find one that would work seemlessly with the Apple Watch to show what my heart rate is and what zone I was in. The fact that this one taps me one my wrist when I go from one zone to another clinched it for me. I have told a lot of people about it. When I told my physical therapist thru the weight lose center she just passed it on to everyone she sees. It’s the best app for anyone that is trying to lose weight or training for a marathon. I can’t save enough about it. Great design developers keep up the good work.

Not worth it compared to other apps. Wanted this app for one option — to a heart rate zone and have the watch notify me when I left that zone. Firstly, you can only kind of set the zones you want. You have to dial in the zones on your phone and it takes a bit of monkeying to get zones close to what you want. Would prefer if you could just manually enter specific zones without any impediments. App is very good about buzzing you when you leave the low end of a zone, but only lightly and almost imperceptibly buzzes when leaving the high-end of the zone, making the app almost useless if you want to run without constantly checking your watch. Lots of bugs.

Woah it’s better than I thought. Woohoo it’s beautiful and that’s a great selling point for this app but what I like about it and what inspired me to write this review is this: this app will track and analyze your heart rate in workouts started with the Workouts app. I just tracked a workout in the Workouts app because that will give me achievements, but when I looked in the Zones app I found that workout there and it was graphed and told me how long I spent in each zone. The Zones app can also track many more types of workouts than the Workouts app (such as fishing, strength training, and even fun), although I’d recommend tracking your workouts with the Workouts app if it’s there so you can get the achievements.

Works great... wish I could set a target.. Started to train using heart rate zones a couple of years ago with an old TomTom watch. Just recently switched to the Apple Watch and have been looking for a great app to help me train by heart rate zone. This app has been great for tracking my workouts and keeping tabs on time and distance in each zone after the fact... The only problem I have found is that the HR zone training I follow recommends staying in a specified zone for certain durations, or to maintain a zone for the whole workout, and it’s hard to constantly keep an eye on your watch to make sure you’re still in the correct zone (especially in winter when it’s below a few layers of clothing). I know it now buzzes your watch when you change zones, but half the time I’m not sure if I jumped from 2-3 or 3-4. I just wish there was a way to set a HR zone target for a workout and have the watch vibrate consistantly when you’re above or below the zone target like my old TomTom watch.

Good but limited insights on pro plan. Using the pro plan to gain additional insights, however it’s not as useful as I had hoped. For instance I’m working on increasing my rucking pace so I created a custom insight to show my fastest pace—even though I’m tracking pace, the app does not allow you to sort by pace, only by date, distance, calories, or duration. So I really can’t see if I’m improving based on this insight. Hope they improve this over time.

Perfect Companion to Apple Watch. This is, without a doubt, one of the most-used apps on my phone. I love how easy it is to see what my heart rate was after each workout—just looking at it afterward motivates me for next time. I also like the cumulative data and seeing how many of each type of workout I did over the previous month or year. It syncs flawlessly with my Apple Watch, and I’ve never had an issue in more than a year of being an avid user. Excellent fitness app.

Dishonest about family sharing. The app is ok. I’d give it 3 stars because it freezes and twice randomly shut down in the middle of a run in the first week I used it. One star because I’m unhappy that it says it’s shareable (through family sharing) on the app page and I paid for the upgraded version. But any app that forces you to pay for the upgraded version through the app is not truly shareable (it will charge each individual in the family share account for the upgraded version through the app). Apple and the developers should be more forthcoming with this feature (ie all upgraded apps should be able to be purchased directly through the App Store and not in app purchases which won’t allow family sharing features). Really dishonest.

Super Useful. I tried several other apps and this one is the best in my opinion for setting and monitoring zones while exercising, especially if your “max” heart rate is not “normal” for your age. I have a very unusual max heart rate for my age, and this allowed me to customize my max heart rate for accuracy. It also allows you to choose between a 4-zone system vs a 5 zone system. Pay once and use forever (no subscription!). It’s a very simple app. I does one thing, and it does it well.

Lots of glitches. I am a user of this app who had upgraded to Pro. I do HIIT training about 4-5 times a week, and often have to restart in the middle of the my workout for freezing up and not registering my heart rate correctly. Then recently, it stopped transferring data from my watch to the phone. After restarting both iWatch and iPhone, I tried to delete the app and re-install. It lost all of my data. I contacted customer service and they referred me to an online faqs page of what’s supposed to happen when one tries to delete the app (2 prompts are supposed to show up, the second allowing you to keep your health data). However the second prompt never showed up for me and the app deleted after the first prompt. I tried deleting again as a sanity check since I absolutely do not remember that second prompt, and again it deleted the app after the first prompt. Now my last 6 months of workout data is gone. I guess not the end of the world in the greater scheme of things, but still frustrating that the glitches in the app keeps it from working as it’s supposed to. Will be utilizing a different app, as this one is obviously not trustworthy. 2 stars because it’s great when it actually works.

Weekly goals. No other app gives weekly goals and amazing stats like this app. It makes me meet my weekly goals and not feel guilty if I miss a day. The stats it gives are unlike any other health app I have used. Once you pay the very small fee for full features the insights and stats are so helpful to compare workouts from the past and compare in any matter you like. Keep up the good work, this is the most useful health app I have used so far and I have tried almost of them.

So helpful!. I really like this app and have recommended it to many. The display and haptic feedback are super helpful with maintaining a zone 2 workout and staying in a zone 5 workout. My main complaint is that sometimes the app stalls out in the middle of a workout and records the same heart rate for over 5 minutes on a series 4 watch. I like the sharing graphics but I delete the text that promotes the app, and that is annoying

Insights Data Missing. Knowing for how many minutes I am in each zone during my workouts is why I downloaded the free version of the Zones app, and I love seeing the Zones I’m in while completing my workouts. I purchased Zones Pro for the analytics aspect of being able to see how many minutes per week I’m in each Zone. However, there are no custom reports that allow you to run reports on Zones. The weekly goal chart allows you to see for how many minutes you’re in the moderate/intense zones. However, there’s no way to break out that chart into the desired Zone. For example, I have a goal to burn fat, so I only want to see how often I’m in the fat-burning zone. Someone who’s strengthening their heart may only want to see when they’re in the cardio zone. The app doesn’t have a way to request Support; the Help tab only contains Guides articles and FAQs. Hopefully someone sees and responds to this review!

Love app. Need feature to turn off Active/Pause.. I love the app. I use it for Orange Theory because you can customize the workout and heart rate zones. However, it when you are idle it pauses the workout and vibrates. I wish there was a feature to turn this off because it is quite annoying if you stop for a couple seconds and then keep moving it pauses and vibrates, pauses and vibrates. Please update the app so you can turn Active/Pause off!! Love app. Need feature to turn off Active/Pause.

A life saver!. As a 400lbs man I was doomed and couldn’t get motivated. My older brother showed me how to use Zones to mimic the orange theory process and I have since been hitting my target heart rate everyday for the recommenced time of 12 minutes. Being able to look down at my watch and see I’m in the orange zone keeps me pushing to hit the goal. Then the weekly tracker shows me how much more I need to push each day to be a real champion. If you have an Apple Watch you need to get zones. It’s like having a personal trainer monitoring your heart rate the whole time.

Great for HR Monitoring. I hate the apple exercise app on the watch because it shows your heart rate but doesn’t tell you what zone you are in but this app’s watch app does and even alerts you when you change zones! I love it! I also love you can also, for the most part, edit the data. When I run on a treadmill it does a pretty good job estimating distance but it’s not accurate so I like for the most part it allows me to edit it. However sometimes it doesn’t. I also would like if I could delete activities. Because I use different apps for recording different activities but also use the zones watch app it duplicates my activity and I can’t delete it. Being able to delete activities would help and would warrant a five star!

Gives 250 calories per hour for sitting on the coach. This app worked well at first but for the last three weeks it gives me 250 calories burned per hour when I am watching tv. And the little green light on the back of my watch is stuck on. I deleted it as it totally screws up what I need to do for the day. Uninstalling & reinstalling might work, but I won’t be doing that as I don’t have time to be uninstalling and reinstalling apps all the time. Either it works or it doesn’t. If it doesn’t it gets deleted. A bummer cause I never had any problem with my Fitbit Eventually reinstalled it to try again (2022) worked great until the last few months it starts workouts on its own, nothing hits the face of the watch. I can be sitting or sleeping and wake up to find I played tennis for 6 hours and have 1200 calories. Looking for new app.

Best fitness zone App. This app has really helped me focus in on that missing element of my training and that is what zone I am in. Before I was constantly guessing or trying the do math in my head while also trying to breathe! This app fixed that. It’s important to note at least for me, this app is an addon app. Meaning I start my appple run and when I am finished this app pulls data from my watch and puts its into readable format. I have not played around with just running the app yet but it says it will show you your zone. I use it to look back and say was I running those mile repeats in zone 3 or 4 or was I dogging it. I paid the 5 bucks for the “pro” version and it’s worth every cent. If you are looking for an app to refine your training. Don’t hesitate get this one now !! Also after about 30 workouts I have zero problems with it missing data

Awesome app for HIIT!. I wanted an option to not have to wear another monitor at a popular orange HIIT class and was so happy to find this app! It works well in tracking 4 zones and even better I can just glance at my watch vs trying to look up at screens to see my progress. So not only did I save not having to buy an orange tracker but it’s easier to use, integrates so well with my iWatch and tracks any kind of workout. Highly recommended!

Really good, but limited. The one reason I wanted an app like this was to see my heart rate zones for all my exercises. And you can totally do that... but only for this week’s exercises. No way to search, no way to find HR zones for individual workouts older than this week. For example, if you want to see if the 5K you ran this week was less strenuous on your HR than the one you did last month, this app can’t do that for you. There’s nuggets of possibilities in this app that could make it truly great, but it seems like there are arbitrary limits everywhere that hold it back. For example, the Insights tab has great potential, but there aren’t enough parameters to customize that could make it truly great.

Fantastic app but a battery drain. I upgraded to the PRO version which at $5 is a huge bargain. It provides a lot of very useful data and allows me to target my workout in ways I wasn’t able to on other apps. The information is clearly presented as well! However I reluctantly have to give it 4 stars because it uses up a lot of battery. I was fine on battery life until I downloaded the app. Nothing major but I can’t get a full day’s use anymore and have to change right before the end of a work day instead of 9 or 10 pm. However I have been willing to accept it because of the useful information I receive and because the iPhone charges to 50% very quickly anyway.

Hands-Down Best App for Data-Driven People. This app demystifies why you hit a plateau by providing data by individual workout, weekly, rei-weekly, monthly, and annual stats. When you can see how many minutes and calories you burned one month versus another, it makes it clear why you didn’t have the result expected. It also makes it visible how much more you need to do or push yourself to break through that plateau. I set up 5 zones according to the Orange Theory metrics so I could use this app and my Apple Watch instead of their monitors. Love it!

Very useful breakdown of heart rate zone. I use this on combination with strava and Apple to get a much deeper level of understanding, analysis and detail on my effort and hart rate and aerobic zones. Data is taken in from my device and from strava and then analyzed. I don’t use zones to measure my activity. The analysis is excellent and really useful to monitor my improvement and effort. I can see how much time I spend in each zone and where I put my effort. I have used this to stay in a specific zone to burn fat or improve endurance. I bought the premium which gives even more detail and stats on how I’ve performed. I’m very useful stuff and if you like our data this app is very good. Basically I haven’t seen any other mainstream app go to the lengths this one does. If you’re training for any sort of event or are trying to just get better in performance this gives you a great insight to how you’re doing.

Customizable and accurate! The best!. I use this app for all kinds of fitness activities, and it can keep track of each activity separately so you can track you time and effort in each activity. You can customize the heart rate settings which is great for recovery from injury, medical conditions, or just because you want to do so. Each heart rate zone is a different color which helps me track without even having to think of the numbers. It alerts you when you change zones up or down. This app is the best fitness tool I have ever used!

Very good, wish it did one more thing.... I’ve tried several of these heart rate zones apps, so far this is my favorite, very clear and uncluttered interface. My wishlist item is for it to work with Apple Watch and an external heart rate monitor. The workaround is to do your workouts in the Fitness app, then look at the data in Zones once the workout is over. That works, but it would be nice to be able to have Zones running on Apple Watch with an external monitor.

Unusable in current state. Without the ability to delete entries this is completely unusable for me as a weightlifter. When I start a session I use an app to log my sets, and start an Apple workout. If I don’t start an Apple workout the heart rate zones are missing a lot of data, and not using my logging app for my workouts is not going to happen. So now I’m getting all of my workouts to give duplicate entries with no way to erase them in the app. If this issue is fixed it would likely get a higher score but as it stands today all of the calculations for me are off.

Does just the right things. This app is great. Simple. Not too expensive. I left Strava pro when they jacked up the rates. The one thing I really missed was seeing my exercise for the week and my progress towards my Weil getting to see my total from last week and how I got there. This app has that so: Check. I’m also interested in ensuring that I get my heart rate up to a certain level for a certain number of minutes per week. Check. It has some more features but those were two things I needed so I haven’t really tried the others. For me this app check the boxes and it’s just right.

Zone color bars in watch and phone don’t match. I downloaded the app today and noticed that the zone color bars/times in the watch don’t match the ones in the phone app when using four zones. Makes me want to wait till this is fixed before paying to get the Pro version since I don’t know if that will have the same problem. Example, the light blue-green bar in the watch represents cardio, but in the phone, it’s orange. The blue-green in the watch is cardio, but cardio is orange in the phone app. The orange bar in the watch is warm up, but blue-green in the phone app is warm up. The only color bar/time that is the same for both is red for peak/time. Yeah, it’s enough to make a head spin. This is an issue that needs to be fixed ASAP! Please fix this.

Not accurate. It contradicts itself and doesn't agree with the health app. For example last week I went for a 40 minute run, a 3 mile hike, and a gym session. In the stats screen it records all of these activities, and if I look at the workout specifically I can see that my heart rate was indeed in zone 1 or higher for all of these, yet in the "time spent in zones" chart, it only shows 69 minutes in zone 1 and 0 in all others, even though when I add the workouts up manually, I have well over 150. And last week it showed about 25 minutes in zone 2 as well. I've also had it show 200+ minutes for the week on Friday afternoon, then when I go back and look at it the next day it drops to 60-80 something minutes. Basically this app is useless for me since I wanted to use it to track time in HR zones for training. Waste of money.

No support - cannot sync settings with Apple Watch. I had high hopes for this app for delivering cues when training within customizable heart rate zones. Sadly, the Settings | Sync Now function does not work (always times out), so the Watch version of the app is stuck in its belief that my maximum heart rate is 185. Because of this error, the best this app can do is tap my wrist when I change between preset zones based on a max heart rate of 185. Not the customizable zones I was hoping for. The Watch version of the app does correctly send workout data to both the iPhone Health app, and the iPhone version of this app (so the sync error is not an issue with the Watch app talking to the phone)... There is apparently no option on the website (or in the app) to report bugs. Maybe the developers read one-star reviews and will provide support for the broken Settings | Sync Now feature...

Off to a bad start.. Froze up my watch 3 quarters through my first workout. I looked at my watch to see my heart rate and found it said that I was only at 73bpm when it should’ve been well over 120 could not get it to read my heart rate again until I shut down the watch. The watch took over 10 minutes to restart, then when I restarted the app not only had it lost app previous workout information when I clicked start it’s spent another 10 minutes with the screen that said starting. Once I finally killed the app and started it again it started to read. As you can imagine I was disappointed not to mention this was during fairly intense workout where I have little to no patience for interruptions. I will try it a few more times and I will update this review if things get better.

Best way to track general activity. The cdc recommends adults have 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes vigorous. This app uses your heart rate to prorate your level of activity to reach a combined target. For example: each minute of your zone4+ activity counts as 2 points, and zone 2-3 counts as 1. So you workout harder, you get more points. It’s the best way to track towards general health recommendations that I’ve seen in an App.

Pro version, Great simple app. I decided to pay for the pro version and it did not disappoint. You can personalize and save your workouts. All this while you monitor your HR in which zone your in. I’ve been using it for quite a while now. It sure about the other reviews but I’m loving this app. Maybe a future update, have the option for the phone app to synch up with the watch. Monitor live zones from your phone as well. This can be a bit helpful when at home. On the cardio machine you can glance down at the phone quickly see what zone your at, instead of bring up your wrist to check while in motion.

The same haptic for changing a zone up and down?. I love being able to try an app out before paying what seems like a fair price. That way you get to see if there are any tragic flaws in the design. Unfortunately, Zones has the same haptic tap for when you are entering a higher heart zone as when you are entering a lower zone. So, the only way to determine if you should speed up or slow down your workout to stay in your preferred zone is to look at you watch. And when you are on a border of one zone to the next the haptic buzzes can happen five times in a single minute. It seems to me that a light double tap when you are going to a lower zone and more forceful single tap when you entering a higher zone would free the runner to concentrate on the road ahead instead of having to decode a generic haptic tap. When you come down to it exercising and having to look at your watch twenty times during a workout seems like a very weak Apple Watch user interface. I’m going to have to wait for an update before I pluck down my hard earned cash. Anybody agree with this?

Great OTF and running companion. I have had this for about 3 months and paid for the pro version about two weeks ago. My main reason for upgrading was that the orangeZones app kept breaking. At least the free one does. And I was not going to pay 70 dollars a month for that. The free one of this one starts automatically when you do any workout so you get the data too, and this is also true for the paid one. So a great way to get extra data in your OTF workouts. I wear an arm band too and it usually matches quite well. Love that it vibrates when switching zones. If anything I do wish one could customize the main screen to show percentage bigger like the orange zones one does. And it would be nice if it counted minutes in the zones if one wanted it. I am also training for a run and love this as it allows me to know my zone and thus pace myself properly, this was the main reason I upgraded and it was worth it.

Want to rate higher, however…... A fairly good app to use to give you a quick summary of your weekly progress. However, I’ve had this app for about two years and the strength training color-code (which is green) has gotten progressively worse. Basically, it barely shows up on the chart even if the percentage is high. My trainer recommended me to use this to see the difference or ratio for the week for cardio versus strength training. Perhaps it’s time to look at other apps that depict that better.

Love it. I bought this app because the Apple Watch did not have zones which is shocking. I found this app, got the free version which is great but I wanted five zones and not four so I purchased the pro version (very affordable). Now when I am working out I select my activity on my watch and you can see your zones as you are working out. It’s awesome! I’ve shared the app with several people and will continue to give kudos!!

Exactly what I’ve been looking for. After many years of using a variety of apps, Zones for Training includes all the data analysis that I’ve been wanting that the other apps have failed to deliver. I don’t even use Zones for executing workouts, but the data integration and analysis is too notch when reviewing performance over the short or long term. Perhaps the one feature I like the most is being able to set weekly goals for minutes or work and intensity of work. It even includes different options of how you as the user define your workout parameters, such as only record “work performed” when above a certain threshold or HR zone. I also really like the trend data on how much time spent in a moderate vs. vigorous state. I’m trying to train smarter and not just go high intensity each workout and Zones will really aid in being critical of myself.

It’s a great motivator. I love the integration and the periodic summaries as well as the instant heart rate on my watch. A great app.

The zones part of this app doesn’t work. It used to then stopped oddly about the same time I upgraded to Pro. To make it worse after numerous attempts no one is helping or responding to me. So so disappointed

Super helpful. This app is great. Really helpful. Thanks for making it!

Great Fitness App. I love this app, it’s easy to use. I find the zone alerts really useful for maintaining fitness levels.

Great app! Easy to use. The app integrates seamlessly with my watch and the activity app. The visuals are great and very easy to use!

Keeps freezing. Heart rate keeps freezing, please fix

App keeps freezing during swim. The swim option doesnt work

Great Information. This is a fantastic app and the information is great for my style of training. Thank you!

Won’t sync activities with Strava or Training peaks. I recorded workouts in the Apple Watch app which then subsequently appear in health. However, these activities won’t then import into apps like Strava or training peaks

LOVE IT but please add a comment section!!. I love this app but wish they had a comment section so you could leave notes on the type of workout / how you were feeling etc. I’ve tried to send feedback but it doesn’t seem like the button works :( PLEASE PLEASE UPDATE IT WITH A COMMENT SECTION!!!! 😊

Brilliant app. A superb versatile app for exercising or simply playing. Literally the only thing I think could be added is the setting to switch off vibration when moving from zone to zone on the Apple Watch. Otherwise it’s a nearly flawless app!! Kudos developers!

Great tool. About time. Reports on data I already collect without me needing to collect more. Had the option to only import data without exporting data and causing double ups. Great app well worth it

Easy app. Love this app. Easy to use and works well with Apple Watch 6. I mostly use this app on my watch for cycling and find it easy to use, read and understand the data gathered. It’s a must have for cycling and running.

Watch app no longer measures heart rate. Watch app no longer measures heart rate since IOS watch 9 update, please fix!

Love it & it’s so accurate. Using this app alongside regular body scans and the data is identical. Particularly love the fat burning calculation. Recommend to all my gym crew

Motivation machine. Good motivator for increasing your effort during exercise sessions. Well constructed app. Simple but effective.

100% recommend, awesome easy to use APP. Picked this app up about 2 weeks ago and figured it out on the first use, really easy to use and great way to track all kinds of different workouts!

Strength workout doesn’t work. The kcal on the strength workout showed 29kcal after 40 minutes workout! Clearly wrong; all data settings seem correct. Must be a bug.

Very good. I have used this app for a few years now and for me l find it very useful in providing “additional support information” l like the clear visual graphics and the ability to adjust zone times. Would recommend. Thank you.

Ease is Use. Very simple, easy to use which makes it attractive.

Love it. Works perfectly for my water aerobics

Love this App. Such a great app to monitor my training zones. My personal goals are for endurance and fat burning and I can check at the touch of a finger how much time I have spent in each zone during my workout and can adjust it accordingly. The App is also Apple Watch compatible so I can easily monitor my workout zones. Great App highly recommend it 👌

Great app 👌. Loving this app it’s helping me with my fight camp and monitoring my hart rate during sessions. 100% recommend it 👌👊🏼

Small glitch but otherwise necessary app. I love this app! Use it all the time! Although I can’t get the lock function to work - when I lock it - so I don’t bump it off accidentally while I’m training- it locks my heart rate at 94? I’m sure it will rectify itself with time- so no other complaints!

Can’t delete activities. Useful app but a real shame that mistaken or duplicate activities can’t be deleted

Best one. Been using Zones for 3-4 years. Haven’t found a better app yet, there are a lot out there but Zones just hits the spot nicely

Good app. Great workout tracking. I wish there was a free Pro trial

Great. This app i love it use it everyday after my workouts to help improve performance

Large heart rate numbers - see easily while running. Good app, easy to set up and use. Screen isn’t crowded with data in tiny digits which aging eyes cannot see. A quick glance at my Apple Watch and bingo! I know my heart rate. 😊

Small bugs. Keeps freezing in workouts and summary not available?

An excellent app. I under-utilised this app for ages, then one day whilat looking for an app that would show me the zones I was working in (😳😳😳the irony isn’t lost on me btw), I had a closer look at this app! Apart from me feeing silly, this is one of the best apps I own!!!! Love it and great work!!!!

Useful. Brilliant app. Works well in the background to help you understand best zones for training.

Was great but dashboard has stopped working. This was my favourite app up until May this year. I paid for the PRO version which allowed me to configure my own heart rate thresholds and this was perfect when I was doing OrangeTheory-style workouts outside of the gym. The Stats dashboard was great to see stats such as how many times I worked out over the course of the weeks and months - unfortunately this stopped working in May for no reason I can figure out. Have looked up the Help and emailed several times and not received a response. So for me the app no longer works and I will be deleting it.

Great for use with an Apple Watch. I've been using the stock Workouts app on my watch, and Zones automatically keeps track. The app is also visually appealing; the data is beautifully and clearly presented. I find the Apple Watch app unnecessary personally, as it simply allows you to begin tracking a workout (which I use the stock app for) - but the data visualisation on my iPhone is something I'll keep using. I'll definitely be buying the pro version!

Simple but effective!. Love it! The Watch app is simple but exactly what I was missing after coming from Fitbit to Apple Watch. The iPhone app delivers fascinating insights into my cardio workouts - a great addition to iOS.

Heart rate zones. Love that is accurately calculates your max heart rate and then your training zones.

Big HR finally. Been looking for ages for apple watch app with bigger heart rate display like on my garmins. This app the only one i can find, and is nicely organised all round. Great for trail running where you need quick glances at heart rate only without taking eyes of trails.

Love all the data!. Makes it worth the data and encourages me to do more

Phenomenal!. Mirrors Health data reliably, and extends it in very useful ways. Having previously used things like MyZone, I much prefer this approach that integrates to Apple Health and just overlays data extension on top of that to show me the zone breakdown of my workouts. I also really like the way it frames total exercise in a week. Actually often more helpful to me than rings, as it lets me think in a different time span.

By far my favourite app. I have always been looking for a good app but this is the best for training especially looking at heart rate zones

Missing one thing. Simple and useful when you just want to see it heart rate zone data. Only thing that prevents me from giving5 star is you need to be able to set goals by each zone. Currently you can only set a goal for total zone activity (includes all zones). The reason zones are relevant at all is because you want to target time in specific zones so not bwi g able to set a weekly goal for say zone2 is annoying.

Great visuals and tracking. Love the easy way I can see my heart rate front an centre when exercising. The charts and weekly summaries are visually stunning. They keep me motivated and push me to reach my goals. The only thing I could want is if there was different haptic feedback for going above or going below my heart rate zone. That way I would know instantly to push harder or back off.

Great compliment with Apple Health. Enjoy having the in-depth data post workout, but the ability for heart rate training. Great app. Simple and easy, plus fine tunable!

Just needs Heart Rate Reserve (HRR) zones!. Love this app, it’s almost everything I need in a fitness tracker. I just wish the heart rate zones were a little more customisable - for instance, the ability to use Heart Rate Reserve or Lactic Threshold to determine intensity would be great, rename-able zones, etc. Also, showing a dashboard on the phone app with heart rate, calories etc. while tracking a workout on the watch would be awesome!

great but some suggestions. using this app to replace the Garmin intensity minutes functionality that is a WHO recognised e revise measure and (crazily) not supported in apple health. Mostly works fine but sometimes takes a while for the activity score to update with the latest activity. I’d really like it if more than 12 weeks was tracked. Garmin does 12 months.

Good but..... No way to share with others or view workouts online

Used to be great but…. Now the app doesn’t measure my heart rate. It used to, and it was great, but now with the latest update works by measuring time and distance but without the heart rate monitoring, how do I know what Zone I’m in?!? Please fix this great app FYI Watch 3rd gen on iOS 8.7.1 iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 16.0 Heart rate monitor app works

Just Perfect. Super user friendly, good data collection, simply displayed. Has all the metrics one requires, interfaces well with Apple.

Richard. Great app, I rarely rate apps, but this one deserves a five star rating, provides so much information in user friendly format!

Great App. Really enjoy seeing when I’m training hard and when I’m not! Fabulous synchronicity with the Apple Watch

Perfect. Does what it is supposed to do and does it well. Good insight on my workouts.

Very useful!. Love this app!

A transformative app. I don’t typically accept the offer of writing a review, but this app has been tremendously helpful. I’ve used it with the apple watch complication and the haptic feedback as I transition through various heart rates zones is very helpful and motivating. I’ve hugely improved my cardio fitness by treadmill running and this app has been a key tool in that process. I also liked that I could buy the full paid version for a lump sum and not via one of those endless monthly subscriptions that bleed your bank account. In summary, it’s a superbly designed app which is incredibly useful and motivating. Thank you Zones!

Not showing up on Apple Watch. I am unable to get the app to work on my Apple Watch (yes I have iOS 5). Little to no support available on the website.

Use for Orangetheory workouts. I use this for Orangetheory workouts. Best one I have used so far.

Really enjoying this app. Great tracking. Easy to read. Love the quick summary and ability to go into the workout/activity for a more detailed breakdown.

Fabulous. Easy and practical!

I double records workouts. You can’t seem to select for it to take data from just one app, say my Apple Watch or my Whoop. Instead it takes data from both and records it like two workouts. That’s really annoying.

Stopped measuring heart rate. After the last update, when I start a workout the app is stuck in “measuring...” and never shows my heart rate. The watch works fine with other apps that do the same. Guess I’ll have to switch, used to be great before

Wow. This is is amazing the pro version is worth every penny!!!

The Killer App for Apple Watch. If you’re trying lose weight through exercise, you need to understand that there are different heart rate zones that will and won’t help you. I’ve been using this app for two years and it does exactly what I need it to. Very happy.

Very useful. Great app! Runs and looks great, a lot of cool metrics and functionality. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to better track their workouts.

Waste of money. Difficult to use and tracking is terrible.

Widgets Not Working. The new update has caused the widgets to stop working. They are just black. Please fix! Love the app otherwise

Last update messed heart rate zone. The last update messed up heart rate zones from Garmin imports. No support available. Apart from a help section which is useless if the activity comes from third party.

What are the 5 zones in zones plus. What are the 5 zones in zones plus, how does it compare with regular zones app zones

$6.99 pro upgrade cost me $14.99. Really? Purchased the pro for $6.99 and I was charged $14.99. This is stealing.

Love this app!. I’ve been using it for a few years now and it’s never once given me any issues. Easy and fun to use. I love the fact that I can create my own customized workouts and track them.

Custom workout?. What is the purpose of having custom workouts when you can not access them on your watch? You also can not add them as a new insight. Why have “custom” workouts when you can not use them?

Expensive. Expensive app to use, basic has very little information

Perfect to track your cardio!!!. This is the one tool that will efficiently count only the of your out that matters

Fantastic!!!. Thank you to the devs!!! Works just as advertised! Provides functionality I’m surprised are not part of Apple Watch by default!!!

The right idea but falls short. This app implements a dashboard for your health data that shows cumulative time spent at various heart rates during workouts. These heart rates are partitioned into Zones and each is reported on in aggregate. I think this is the right idea for a metric to monitor, however the app falls short in two crucial ways: 1. The meaning of the zones is inscrutable. They have names like “fat burn”. I have no idea what “fat burn” means. Why bother doing all this work to produce an app and then preclude any hope of users reliably and objectively interpreting what it shows? 2. There are no widgets. In order to ensure you hit your cumulative goals you need to stay apprised of your progress. There are widgets for steps, water intake, strength training sessions, sleep performance, etc each of which provides an insight into a metric at a glance. Those metrics are far too numerous to open each app separately in order to get an overview. This is the whole idea behind widgets: So that apps providing dashboard information can have their metrics surfaced in a single place. Why build a dashboard app like this that doesn’t implement widgets and therefore can’t be used in the device’s dashboard?

Great App with Awesome Workout Insights. I've enjoyed using this app over the last 3 months as it provides a great graphical charts to visualize and track my workouts. When used with the apple watch it's even better as there's so much rich data to use and track each part of my workout. The premium app is money well spent! No regrets here!❤️ 🏃🏿‍♂️

Good app. Love this app

Well designed. This application was long overdue, now that I finally have it I just wish my wrist-based heart rate monitor (Apple Watch 4) would be more reliable. Good job thank you!

Crapped out. Worked until it didn’t. Still records workouts but no info with them (no heartrate etc) tried to uninstall and reinstall, won’t restore purchase now. Was ok while it lasted.

No metrics without Apple Watch. I got this app to unify my without data. It pulls data from the Health app so absolutely no detail in regards to time splits and other metrics that are useful for athletes. Strava or direct sports watch manufacturers' platforms integration would be a nice addition.

Everything I need. I just switched from a Garmin to an Apple Watch and have been looking for apps to meet my running and workout needs. This app brings together all the disparate info from multiple apps in one location, in a really easy to understand format. It even includes all my Garmin data for the last three years—I thought I would have to start all over again. I was so happy when I first opened the app and saw all that data! I immediately bought the Pro version, partly to unlock the extra features and partly to reward the developers for a job well done. It’s only around $5, after all, and I appreciate that there is no ripoff subscription fee like with many other workout apps.

Personal Score Board. This app keeps tabs on my routine and honest in my assessments!!! Well Done😃

Exactly what I needed. Better than the Fitness app

A great app- does what I need it to do. I use this app when spinning (indoor cycling) and strength training in conjunction with my much loved SSoD app. It also is great as it links to and fills in activity points on my WW app. Use it to monitor heart rate zones and keep track of workouts. Delivers what I need it to. A side note: was a bit glitchy when I got my new iPhone 12, had to delete it from my phone and watch and reinstall for it to link and work properly.

Goals. I love this app! It definitely helps me reach my goals! 🙌🏼

Thank you! Not thank you.. This app is not compatible with my Watch Series 0 anymore. Thanks for the update!

Disappointed. Potentially Dangerous.. I first bought this app thinking it would be awesome to be able to customize my heart rate zones and get haptic feedback/vibration when I reach each one. However, the algorithm they use to detect the zones/BPM is very flawed. It doesn't use the Karvonen Formula [(205.8 - (.685 * age)], which is clinically proven to be the most accurate, correctly. Without your custom input of resting heart rate (different day to day), the Karvonen Furmula becomes useless. This is pinnacle in getting accurate target zones, as it can have drastically different results depending on your resting heart rate. This can be potentially dangerous to individuals as it is right now. The formulas they DO have, don't even explain what they are either. Unless they incorporate resting heart rate into the calculation with the Karvonen Formula [(205.8 - (.685 * age)], this app is completely useless and a waste of money. Another issue is the "custom" target zones. For some reason you can only change the intensity % which then changes the BPM range. This also makes for inaccuracies as I know 80% of my heart rate is NOT 157bpm. The Karvonen Formula should be fixed and these "zones" to be edit FULLY, not just the %.

Love the app. Belong to OTF and use Apple Watch instead of OTF watch. Works great and I believe is more accurate

Does not work as advertised.. Waste of money. Does not display or record heart rate on Apple Watch during workout. Often remains stuck on ‘Starting’ when beginning a workout on Apple Watch. This is for the paid, so-called “Pro” version. Very disappointed.

Love the app. Works great for me

Logging. AWorkout. Not easy to navigate Can’t find how to even log a workout in the free version or can you even do that or is that just for the people that pay

Good as good gets. If you want simplicity and tod do why it’s supposed to then this is the app for you 👍👍👍👍👍. Gives you a choice in the 4 zones or 5 tracks you and tells you where on the map in colour where you push it. Not to mention the price is great 👍 so I think it’s worth the investment.

Solid and Effective. I used the free version for 4 months every single day. I was so pleased with how it works and integrates with Apple Watch I just upgraded to the pro version. There is no better recommend than that. 😀

Informative. App allows breakdown of different intensities in workouts. Keeps me honest.

Not happy. Downloaded app to check out. Stated free u less yiu ourchase pro. Never purchased pro and was charged. I cannot change the subscription and the app is not showing in my apple subscription. They keep charging me. I have emailed them twice now with no response

Essential for reviewing my workouts.. I use this app to monitor and log all the workouts that I do, I primarily use it with Apple Fitness+. I love the pro features with the long term stats, they really motivate me. This app has a great look and packs a lot of info about your workouts in a clean, simple and attractive way.

Nice to know. It’s great to be able to see which heart rate zone I’m working in and to see where I need to improve! Cheers!

Pulse not connected. Pulse data not reading doesn’t matter what I did.

Great app!. Absolutely love this app! After switching from Fitbit to Apple Watch, I was really missing the heart rate zones that showed up with the Fitbit. I did some searching and found this app and I’m so glad I did! Really enjoy seeing what zones my heart rate is in during my workouts. Great app!

Perfect. Straight forward and very easy to use.

Finally a Rival to the Fitbit App. I can't seem to appreciate the heart section in the Health App for my new Apple Watch. Coming from long time of my Fitbit, I missed the easy to read and informative heart rate graphs on the Fitbit App. In search of a third party app for my apple watch, I tried this app out and I NOW DO NOT MISS MY FITBIT. I am complete. Note, I upgraded to Pro within minutes of downloading this app. I LOVE that it is an affordable ONE TIME price. I would not have done it if it required a subscription. Thank you!

Great app. Great app even using basic version, and once purchased PRO I was a little disappointed as there was not enough pros to justify it, and I wish there were better apple watch complications. Overall I do enjoy it

No longer works with my Series 1 Apple Watch :-/. I’m suddenly very disappointed in this app, which I really enjoyed using until this morning. The Zones app can no longer be used with an Apple Watch that doesn’t support watchOS 8 or latter since the most recent automatic app update. My Series 1 Apple Watch did everything I needed it to do until today and I have no intention of getting a newer one, except now it no longer supports this app, which didn’t give me any warning that updating it would prevent my ability to continue using it, Doh!! 😖

New user enjoying this app. I have been using the app for a couple of weeks to track my workouts cycling outdoors and indoors. The app has been very useful in giving a constant reading of my heart rate. For outdoor rides the data on distance and vertical rise are welcome. So far I have experienced no problems with the app.

Favorite app for tracking workouts. This is my favorite app to use for tracking my activities. I really like be able to track my zones while working out and being notified as I change from 1 zone to another.

What Happened to Stats & Cross Training?!?. I’ve been using this app for years and after a recent update I cannot access any Stats or select Cross Training as a workout. If these selections and others now require a Pro subscription, I might be okay with that but to suddenly just have access disappear, with no notice?? That’s a disappointment. Especially without easy access to customer support or a “search” function within the Developers website FAQ / Help sections.

Beautiful simplicity. What’s so appealing about Zones is the beautifully designed and executed (UI) user interface. It is a delight to use and the data is presented using easy to understand graphics. A must have if you are replacing a dedicated sports measurement instrument with a Apple Watch. Highly recommended.

Excellent app!. I just changed from fitbit to apple watch this week and was missing the feature that breaks your breakout into zones (cardio, peak, fatburn). Even though is something I think the activity app should have, im so glad this app exists even though I have to search for my info in two different apps. Overall, works GREAT and is free!!

The coolest!. I’m obsessed with my workout data. This app helps me reach my goals every week with easy to read graphs and other data points. There is even a widget for my Home Screen so you have at a glance knowledge of where you’re at with your weekly goal. I have sent this app to everyone I know with a smart watch because this app is so cool!

It’s really excellent!. I purchased this app to use at Orange Theory instead of their device and it’s awesome. I have it on my Apple Watch and with haptics on and the right computer scheme, it tells me exactly what I need to know and has all the same data as the OT app, actually I think it’s better integrated with the Health data and Activity app. Best 5 dollars! And thanks to Reddit for helping me find it!

Needs to Fix kcal glitch. This app is great, near perfect apart from the fact that some workouts will be stuck at certain calorie count and not move throughout the workout. You can reset watch, reset app, but it’ll still show the glitched calories. Really demoralizing when looking at weekly summary...

Great to view effort. With this I can see how much effort I put into my workouts: warm, fat burning, cardio and peak. The week graph is helpful in analyzing my workouts and where I want to adjust. The insight tab is useful for overall average and best workouts. This is all based on the free version - not PRO. Great app for reaching the next level in physical fitness!

Good app to monitor heart rate zones. I love the free app but purchased to support developers. It is a perfect app for Orangetheory style workouts. Would love for programmers to consider adding option to check multiple activities when creating a custom workout. An example would be when goal is mileage you could track running and walking. Thank you.

Workout Data Lover’s Dream. There was an app way back in the day that was awesome at tracking HR zones, but the developer stopped supporting it. I’ve been waiting years, and finally found THIS APP! It really is great. I know when I am pushing and when I am not. It works great with the Apple Watch and I love the way everything works seamlessly with it. Please never discontinue support for this app! It’s so great!!!

A lot of good, one bad thing makes it unusable for me.. I’m a really big fan of this app including the app for the Apple Watch. The one drawback however is my active calories is way off. It only gives me credit for maybe a fifth of the calories I burn based on a active metabolic test.I can’t see my way to change the way it calculates the calories burned, and manually doing the calculations after the work out it’s just not worth it.

Worth It!. I am a huge fan of Orangetheory and this app is very similar ! I originally got the app to help me compare my home gym workouts to my OTF workouts but now I use this app even during my OTF class to compare my results. I think it is super helpful and if you also enjoy Orange but don’t want to pay the high price then I try this app out!

Couple of things missing for perfect. 1) I can't see where to remove the haptic feedback in settingswhen changing zones. Don't like that 2) I wish I could see my calorie burn on my watch face while in the workout. Maybe reduce the size of the BPM? I'm sure runners would probably want to see Pace & distance on their face as well. I was doing a HIIT WOD. Basically give us the ability to change what shows on the face.

No complaints other than very nit-picky stuff but .... Can/will there please be an iPad or web app later on? Being able to see all of the data on iPhone is awesome but being able to see even more data on a bigger screen like an iPad or computer would be so much more useful and easier to use/navigate.

Good info without the fuss. This is so easy to use and provides useful data that encourages me to workout harder. I use other apps for weight training or cardio. Zones detects my workouts. I don’t need to open it each time. Later I can review my workout intensity. Makes me push harder on the elliptical and shorten time between weight sets in order to keep my heart rate up. It’s a great app!

App tends to get stuck and unable to read heart rate.. The app tends to not update the heart rate on the watch while exercising and only at the end of the workout that it shows the heart rate in the different zones. When it works, it would provide you with the heart rate and the various zones on the watch. It seems that the app is a hit-or-miss so if you can bear with that then download the app. I have an iPhone 8 Plus paired with Apple Watch 4. They are both up to date on the OS.

Question about custom stats. I have been using this app for over a year and absolutely love it. I use it for all my workouts. A question for the developers: I created a custom insight to track my cycling, but can’t figure out how to see my cumulative miles for the year. If this is not yet available, can you add it to a future update? Many thanks for a great app!

Useless if it just tracks time. My heart rate zones have not been registering for about 2 weeks. At first I thought the app update would resolve. I updated and that morning’s workout retroactively registered my zones. Then the next day it didn’t register again. So I thought maybe it was the Apple Watch update that was needed. Updated the Watch and that day’s workout retroactively registered my zones. Since then no workout has registered my zones, rendering this app essentially tracking only the length of my workouts.

Add notes!!! Please!!!. I would love to be able to add a note to my stats, and I’m sure other people would too! Just something to indicate a specific Les Mills “body combat 83” “sprint 21”, echelon, peloton, or other workout information ( i build my own also - “ptc 6”) to be able to refer back to identify later

Works Great. App works great. I have not experienced the issues others have mentioned in their reviews. I use it with an Apple Watch 6 for running and outdoor bicycling. I find training with targeted workout zones is far healthier and it eliminates the need to memorize what my heart rate should be at for weight loss or cardio. All the other features are gravy on top of an already excellent app. Well done.

Best fitness app out there. The best thing about this app is that it is a one time purchase for pro. Apps such as Strava cost something like $80 a year. This app is $6 which is unheard of today and is well worth it. The free version is also very good since it has most of the features.

I love this app so much. I paid a one time charge and have had this app for over 4 years. And it keeps getting better. How?! It tells me exactly what I need to know about the quality of my work outs, my recovery, and my overall health. Spot on!

Worked great at first.. I bought this app specifically so I could monitor my heart rate zones while running. At first it seemed to track very accurately. But in the last couple weeks it has been very slow to respond to heart rate changes. Seemingly stuck at my resting heart rate for the first half mile of my run. Then abruptly it will show an extreme heart rate level. I have deleted, and reinstalled the app, which is a bummer because I lost all the workout data from the previous period. Giving it another try.

Only for Apple Watch. I should have been more careful when I purchased this, but it will not wirk with a Fitbit - and the Fitbit app provides the same data anyway. The app descriotion does reference Apple Watch, but doesn’t appear to explicitly state that it only wirks with other apps to the extent that those other apps will communicate with Apple Health. So, if you don’t have an Apple Watch, don’t purchase the upgrade. I need to figure out if a refund is available - or at least, how to avoid an auto renewal. Again, IF YOU DONT HAVE AN APPLE WATCH, DONT GET THIS APP!

My most useful fitness app. Understanding my heart rate zones has been infinitely more helpful to me than simple mile times or distance ran that other tracking apps focus on. The first time I’ve volunteered to write a review without being prompted to, that’s how great this has been to use. About to start paid membership now.

Normally 5 star but new update deleted some features. Normally 5 star but new update deleted some features. 3 main problems now: 1) The ability to manually edit distance before saving a workout on the Apple Watch has disappeared. (This feature was available right after ending a workout on Apple Watch, but before hitting save) 2) The ability to manually edit a distance from a historical workout on the iPhone is not working. When you hit edit, then edit the distance manually, the app says saving but doesn’t actually change anything in the history. 3. The ability to send feedback to the developer through the app is broken. Normally, I wouldn’t have put these issues in the form of a review, but since that link in the app is not operational, I had no other method available.

Great app for training. I have used this app throughout my training and it was great. I did pay for the upgrade but it was well worth it. I have switched to a Garmin instead of an Apple Watch. My husband recently started using the app and the problem he runs into being colorblind is seeing the differences in color between the zones. He has to slow him self to see what % he’s in because all the colors look the same.

Very useful APP, but could be better. More than half of my statistics are categorized as “others” in gray which I guess refers to records without heart rate readings. Is it possible to filter out this part of data? A step further, is it possible to filter workouts by type, such as running and walking?

Got rid of the zone names?. I purchased the app bc it showed warm up zone, fat burn zone, etc, now they must have did an update and got rid of the names. Now it's just zone 1-5. The reason I bought the upgrade was to SEE the zones I was in without having to cross reference with in the app itself (as I can't remember what zone is what! Lol). Annoying. But, it is what it is. I still like the app. Maybe they'll switch it back?!

Misleading. I wish I could get my money back. Unless you’re in a dim room it’s unreadable during outdoor runs due to the dark colors used in the upper zones. It also doesn’t alert as advertised - it did intermittently when I dropped from zone 3 to 2 but never on anything else. I edited to create 5 zones In an attempt to set a max threshold (I’d like to be warned when I hit a max heart rate) but again no warning & as above the dark red color isn’t readable outdoors. Still looking for that app that can give me real-time audio or wrist grab alerts during intense workouts.

Handy heart rate zone training app. Love this app. It does what you want it to. Great core feature set. Just works. The graphs and stats are thoughtful. Doesn’t try to do too much. I use it with my Apple Watch and love the subtle haptic feedback when switching zones. I Upgraded to pro (very reasonable one time fee!) within a day or two.

Not good anymore. I enjoyed this app so much. I mainly used it for the zones stats, but after certain period of time it stopped showing zones stats, it shows my heartbeat, duration and etc. but no zones anymore!! That’s so weird, like I can count myself what zone it was bc it has this info, but why then I would need this app?!? I need to see right away the zone and the diagram for it!! Please, could you FIX it for me?! I hope it’s a bug or something in my account and you still provide these numbers. I’m frustrated, angry and disappointed at the same time..

Good app with one issue. This app is better than Apple fitness app. I didn’t give it 5 stars because I have to manually click “save” to save the workout record. This is very inconvenient. sometimes I get busy and forget to save, I lose the record. Saving workout record should be default and be done whenever user finishes workout.

Awesome app for beginners to advanced!. This app is great! I started using it when I started my initial workouts about a year and a half ago when I started walking. Since then I’ve gone up to being able to exercise at 80 to 90% my maximum heart rate. All the while Zones has been by my side keeping track of my improved fitness level and improved recovery heart rate. Keep up the great work!!

Helpful tool. I’ve been using other fitness apps including my fitnesspal and I rely heavily on my Apple Watch and activity app. I’ve been struggling to meet my fitness goals and have found this app especially helpful for me. It’s a continuous reminder of where I’d like my heart rate to be during various workouts and has helped improve the quality of my workouts as well as help me meet my fitness goals.

I (still) really like this app. Have been using this app for more than a year now. I find it very useful. It takes the health fitness data and presents it in a different and, I feel, more useful format. I use it every day and it lets me see my time and heart rate at all four levels very clearly based on my age and other data. Ties in well with the Apple activity app and works great with Apple Watch.

Great addition to Activity app. I use my Apple Watch to log all of my Apple Watch. Even though I enjoy activities app for view some of the workout details, however I feel the activity app does not show enough detail. That is where I think Zones excels!

Perfect for Orangetheory. I use this pretty often instead of the HR monitors during my Orangetheory Fitness workouts and it works great! The watch vibrates to let me know when I’ve changed zones, and if you pay the one-time fee for premium, you can edit the zone numbers to match OTF. Love the interface on the watch and the phone. Best app!

Making things better.. If FitPort (a great app) was Flask’s response to Apple Health’s dashboard deficiencies, then this feels like a response to the Activities app. The design and structure of the app are clear, and the easy to read overview actually provides encouragement when you’re struggling to get a workout in. It nudges you with a moment of “look how well you’ve done; keep going :)”

Not always reliable. I had the free version then I bought the paid version. Wished I hadn’t. Sometimes the app just freezes and I don’t get any feedback from the first 10 minutes of my class. So bummed. I got this because my gym changed our max HR with an AI algorithm. I just want accurate data, thought this would help. Is there anything you can do on your end to improve accuracy and avoid the app freezing?

Heart rate on my wrist. This is a great app for workouts. It will display heart rate in real time and vibrate as your heart rate changes zones. It shares everything with Apple health kit, so even the map of your ride will be available in apple health. Is it possible to add integrations with other apps like Strava? It would be wonderful if those apps will just read the data from Apple Health... but not every app is so awesome as this one.

Like the one time fee. Miss Live Zones.. Both free and payed versions of this app have been good. I payed to get the ability to adjust the settings. I’m a previous Polar watch user and really miss being able to see a live reading of how much time I’m spending within each zone. With this app you don’t see that data until the workout is complete.

Love this app!. This app was the answer to my search for a comprehensive app that would let me easily see my heart rate zone on my Apple Watch and keep good stats. I almost never buy the Pro version of apps, but I upgraded to Pro after only three days. It's definitely worth the few bucks!

I haven’t used it yet. I have used the polar for monitoring that I am doing the fat burning zone in my workout And as I recently have switched from Fitbit to Apple Watch I was looking for such an app The idea of vibrating every time I switch from fat burning to cardio is what I was looking for as sound alarm cannot be heard especially if I am listening to music on my headphones And that’s my sole purpose of getting this app To alarm me when I am changing from one zone to another So I get to know how my workout is going as I desire Good app according to what advertised Will update the review after I use it for a while

Very good but.... You can’t run this app and the Apple Watch workout at the same time. If you choose to see the HR zones then you can’t see a thing about the workout info like pace, distance, calories, etc... If Apple won’t let us run 2 apps at the same time, “Zones” should add some basic stats on their screen. The way it is running the app in your watch is almost useless if you’re training for something specific.

Great looking app but far too inflexible. This would be a great app if it was more flexible with being able to customize your data. For example date ranges are fixed. You can't set a custom date range for any reports. Even worse, for any reports you create you can't change the date range within the report. For example if you create a "weekly calories burned" report, that's all you get. If you want to know "monthly", "yearly", or "last year" for example, you'd have to create 3 more reports. Combine that with the first issue I mentioned and you have a very poorly implemented and inefficient app. The "Recent" section is also far too limiting. It only goes back a short amount of time. I should be able to "continuously scroll" through my activities (or better yet, back to the first thing I mentioned and set a custom date range). Potential, but not worth it in the current form.

Motivating. I have been using this app for years. It’s the only reason I’ve consistently exercised for so long. I love being able to monitor my weekly exercise minutes and tracking my heart rate through a workout. I would like to edit the heart rate zones to my own preferred colors but I don’t really mind. I am perfectly happy and love how simply it works!

If you workout, get this app!. This is a great app to have when you’ve made working out a part of your life. It helps me see how hard I am pushing and the progress in my fat burning. It lets you see the overall picture of your workout and pretty much does what orange theory does in getting you to the target zone of fitness. If you have an apple watch, this is a must-have.
