Bad Reader. The app’s reader refuses to switch from a heavily accented voice to the default voice on my apple product which is more in line with US English accents. The reader is also not programmed to understand how to read the book’s contents and understand formatting. For eg, it reads the page numbers and if a table is used in the book then it reads vertically by column first instead of column 1 row 1 with the contents, it ends up reading all of column 1 which makes me think this is an issue on the developer end as this is not how regular people read nor is it the way the content is taught by the professor in person. Very disappointing experience. If I had a choice I would not go with this app again. Unfortunately my school defaulted to this for the class I am doing. The user interface is at least friendly and clear and the design is ok so 2/10 for those good bits.

Needs Improvement. I’ve been using this app for a semester on my iPhone 11 and iPad Pro, andPC, for two textbooks. The form factor for phones isn’t consistent and leads to having to move the page back and forth to keep it centered when scrolling. This also affects highlighting. Adding notes is lackluster. Keeping them in a small box, especially while typing, is purely an annoyance. There should be more highlighter options. 2 colors doesn’t cut it, and for someone like me, who uses different colors to mark different topics, subtopics, categories, and notes, it’s a must. If the app is minimized (not closed) or the screen locks, it will often “close” the book on both iPad and iPhone. Having to reopen the book again gets pretty annoying. The options to change text size and font is appreciated. A dark mode would be helpful. I also appreciate the highlighted material is across devices. The option to turn pages rather than scroll would also be nice. The search feature could be more streamlined.

Company jacks its customers. I am a full time student with two jobs. I bought the digital version thinking it would be mine to own, since in some cases the digital is more expensive. I have purchased digital books before and when I buy it it’s mine. The books sold by Yuzu are far from mine. The amount of pages i’m allowed to print is regulated to 2 pages at a time. I can’t print the flashcards I made. The digital book interactives don’t work. I have tried to contact yuzu twice about the interactive issue but I’m expected to set aside a time to deal with Yuzu while I shouldn’t or wouldn’t have had to had I just been sold my own book. The inconvenience is unnecessary. Just sell the customer the merchandise. Don’t hack it, jack it, and then regulate it by babysitting your buyers usage of it.

Great, it reads aloud. I really don't understand why this app has horrible ratings. I work full time and go to school and I think this is the greatest thing ever, because you can have the book read to you. I wish this kind of technology would have been around when I was in undergrad 10 years ago. I had an issue with the books downloading the second semester and customer service responded right away and walked me through it (I emailed, didn't call).

HORRIBLE. I’ve had to use this app quite a few times for my college books. When I originally started school in 2021 we needed this app to be able to retrieve our access codes for books or other websites. Good luck being able to do that on any IOS device, because it doesn’t allow you to access the codes unless you’re on a computer. Which is super inconvenient, because I’m not able to lug my computer around when I’m not in school. The app is basically useless for me because the content I need to access isn’t even possible. It’s been over a year since I first found this glitch it’s honestly so disappointing that it still hasn’t been fixed

Terrible thing I am forced to use. The app keeps freezing or not loading my book. The highlight feature is clunky and does not work with the Apple Pencil. I rather just have a physical copy of the book. Please make the book downloadable, so I do not have to load it every time I access it. Also incorporate the Apple Pencil features so I can easily highlight as I read. If I had a choice, I would avoid this app and just stick to the physical books in the future, but I was not able to have that choice this time.

You will lose WEB ACCESS!. Just got off the phone with their customer support. You cannot access these books from a computer after the “mysterious” unstated license expires. After 1 year I can no longer access my book from my computer. I normally would not post such a negative review but the company is not going to tell you this. They knew this would happen but could not explain where this is publicly stated so here it is. Please be cautious if you plan to use this with a laptop or desktop

Needs updates. This app is too basic. My school forces digital textbook’s and requires to use this app to open them. When you try to print them, they watermark the pages which makes them unable to make notes on or do workbook pages impossible to read. You would think that to substitute for it, that they would let you write in the app with Apple Pencil and what do you know, they don’t even have that feature either. This app is crap and needs to add these so I don’t have to screen shot everything and have to use it to make notes that way.

Horrible Support Terrible App. I had to use this app because it was the only option to purchase the e-book through my college bookstore Barnes & Noble. The app worked for a couple of days and then I got an error message and it logged me out and will not allow me to log back in. I get a small message in the upper left hand corner that just same error. I can log into the app on my iPad but need it on my iPhone for the audio. Called customer service and was on hold and three times it told me to press one to leave a message but it did not wait to see if I pressed one it forced me to voicemail where my call would be returned within one business day. On the fourth call I finally got a person who’s only solution was to delete the app and download it again which I had already done. So the only option because they do not have any tech support is to escalate to a Supervisor to see if they have any other ideas and they will be back in touch with me within one business day. For an app that provides college books for students there should be better support. I am loosing valuable reading time in a short summer semester. If you can get your ebook another way do it, avoid this app anyway you can!

Can’t log in. I downloaded the app and can’t even log in to my account because the keyboard doesn’t open on the login screen. No ability to change text size without limiting the toggle from left to right—basically making font bigger doesn’t automatically adjust the text to fit the screen, you constantly have to move the page left to right to read. Skip this app. (To the developers, check out McGraw Hill’s app. This is what you should be aiming for)

5 without update 3 stars with update. I really loved everything about this app. What I love most is the ability to have the read aloud button. Make it easier to retain. I really dislike the new update. The words light up and it jumps around as it reads which makes me nacreous and my eyes dizzy. Before it was just the section highlighted. Also if you need to zoom in the reading stops. You can’t pick back up in the middle of the text like before hand. I’m not a fan of the update but love everything else. Happy reading!

Thanks I’m gonna fail my class now.. I logged out once. ONCE. Now when I try to log in on this app it says “error”. When I try to use website on mobile it won’t even let me click the button to sign in! I can’t access my text anymore! What am I supposed to do?!! Awful just AWFUL. I needed this textbook on mobile so I could read homework when convenient to me, now I can only do it when I have computer access. Please fix this, I’m rarely home and barely have time to read on a computer, otherwise I just might fail.

Great App, What’s Everyone Else’s Problem?. I’ve gotten all of my textbooks on this app and it works wonderfully. I think once the app crashed when I signed in, so I changed my password and it never happened again. The layout is great and easy to navigate, and I’ve probably spent 80% less on books this semester because of it. I’d take all of the bad reviews with a grain of salt, this app is solid.

Please read this before purchasing any books. I am a college student and I made the mistake of purchasing digital books from this company. First of all, you cannot access your books online because the feature does not work on their website. Secondly, the customer service is terrible, I was put on hold for 4 hours! 4 HOURS!! This is not a biased review, you can google other peoples reviews online about Yuzu and they are all negative. Don't make the same mistake I did, please buy either a real copy of your book or try to buy from another company if you want to use a digital copy. I cannot emphasize this enough, DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

Do Not Buy. Today I purchased a textbook through Yuzu. I was sent an email on how to activate my account and followed all of the necessary steps. My book would not show in the library so I did some research online and then called their customer care number. I sat on hold for over 10 minutes and was literally told that all their agents were too busy to assist me. I just sent them an email regarding my problem. But I definitely will not buy from Yuzu again. That amount of money I spent to go through all these hoops and terrible customer service is not worth it.

So upset with B&N and YUZU app. Downloaded the app and can see the textbook is in my library but it won’t open. I can’t find one FAQ or support number for help. The bookstores are clueless. I will never buy or rent another B&N textbook. Yuzu app stalls, tried multiple laptops & nook. Want to choose/should be able to choose page format. Pages only open in fixed/flow format. (It flows up/down through the segment. You have to go back to the chapter index And then click on the next chap segment.) Their help page says it’s the publisher that chooses formatting. That’s not ok, B&N should have clearly stated the restriction since it isn’t a free rental.

Love the app but lots of bugs.. The app is interesting. It’s easy to read but I have a few problems with it. 1, randomly the highlighting feature will stop working. Only way to fix it is to restart the app. It’s annoying. Takes time away when I need to read and take notes. 2, the copy feature does the same thing, as well as the note taking. Randomly it will stop copying to the clipboard or allowing one to use the note taking highlight. Way to fix? Restart the app entirely. Third, this is more of an annoyance to me, you can and cannot highlight/note with different colors. Technically you can, it will show up in your annotations with the different colors. I say you can’t because overall one color will show on the text. It’s not like when you mix colors on a regular book the colors will overlap, no this app only shows one dominate color. Which is annoying to someone like me who prefers to go back through the pages while reading then click on the annotations tab. I do like the flashcard feature. Which would be more enjoyable if the copy feature worked regularly. Overall it’s good to use, has bugs and annoying things to it that should be updated.

App works fine but.... Book loaded, all page numbers present.. just the highlight feature is strange! I wish it was more like the Kindle app where highlighting is done by simply dragging your finger over the words, rather than having to select the words and then selecting the highlight feature. Also, this feature is laggy! Words don’t seem crisp either

Horrible user interface & highlighting tool. Holy _____. The highlighting feature in this app is the most infuriating, useless, and COUNTER productive thing in the planet. You highlight a section, and then it jumps to another section, forcing you to rehighlight over and over until the app responds appropriately. Highlighting text in multiple lines is an utter disaster and can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes of constantly trying and re-trying to get it to work. What an utter nightmare. It’s a shame this book is only offered here, as this app is absolutely abhorrent. A dreadful waste of time. I’d rather drop out of school than have to use this to read and highlight the rest of the book. I’d give 0 stars if I could.

Unable to access books on laptop. Don’t use this app unless you have all apple devices. I can only download the books that I paid well over $100 for on my iPad. Out of the six books I have purchased, only 3 of them are available on the Yuzu browser. I am being forced to use my iPad to access all of my textbooks.

Study guides. I paid for this book from the school store, why do I have limited access to end of chapter practice questions. This app also advertise the site cengage. This site has activities and end of chapter questions but i have to purchase the book again. What’s the point of this app if I have to buy the book a second time to have more tools in a site you guys are promoting…

Not satisfied at all. Unfortunately I was obligated to get a digital textbook through this app. There is only one voice option for text to speech, and it’s incomprehensible. The app even shows you how to go through your phone and change the voice. I emailed customer support for help and they said it was my phones problem even though I have the latest software installed and everything is up to date. I asked which voices were available for my device and have not gotten a response. I am taking online classes, have a two hour commute to my full time job and an 11 month old at home, so I was really depending on the text to speech reader while on my commute.

Great Except One Thing…. This would be a 5-star app if it weren’t for the fact that changing the iOS Spoken Word settings does not carry over into this app. There are even instructions embedded into this app that explains how to change the Spoken Word settings to change the voice that speaks the text, but changing it does not do anything for this app. After changing my Spoken Word voice, I confirmed in other apps that the voice did in fact get changed. Yuzu just doesn’t work with it even though it claims it should work.

Books expire without warning. I learned today from customer service that web access to purchased textbooks expires after one year. After one year you must use the app and can no longer access Books from the website. This is unfortunate because I am currently taking a class which uses the same textbook that I had already purchased, however now I must use a separate device instead of just my computer to read and word process at the same time. Nowhere is there any warning of this, seems they bank on students having the book one semester than never looking at it again. Shady non full disclosure marketing. Will be informing the head of our bookstore and hopefully the university reaches out. Clearly they don’t care about the individual student end user.

Best app. This app is very convenient to use and I like how you can add notes on the page, so you can refer to it as you’re reading the chapter and also highlight important information on the chapters. It really helps me, when I do my assignments and I highly recommend for all students to use this app. The other thing I like about this app is that you can type in the page number you want to go to, instead of flipping through each page one by one.

Easy to Use!. I don’t normally write reviews, but often find myself reading them. As a college student we try to find ways to save money. I was leery of getting an ebook, but am very happy I did! This app was very easy to use. Loved that I could search a topic and it would bring up all the different pages that the topic shows up on. Made my life WAY easier when studying.

When a simple PDF is better. I saw the high star rating and I had such high hopes… But NO! If you are using this to learn, you will be missing out! Apple Pencil has no place in this app! Hyper-linked content will take you to the definition, but you will have to find your way back, on your own. Highlighting is just as poor and pathetic as Pearson+, and it is as though technology has yet to be understood by these people! Students need the ability to use the textbook as though it were in their own hands. If a simple pdf would work better, than there is a serious problem!!! Students are forced to spend a lot of money on textbooks, and yet we are stuck using apps like this… Where we have to jump through hoops to make something work right, or have to spend so much time making something happen, that it becomes a waste of time. If you are able to, I implore you to find another way! This app is part of why failure rates are so high!

TERRIBLE please read before using. I used this app my first semester and it was perfectly fine. Now its all messed up. it says i have too many devices even though i don't have a single device logged in. now i don't get anything. i log in and it just takes me back to the log in screen over and over again. i asked customer service and all they said was there a "resolve this error" button...NO THERE ISN'T!! I don't get a single option for that. they will ignore your emailed after the first one they send. They copy and paste a vague answer. Christina Q if you are a real person. why would you do my dirty like that >:| I just wanna read my textbook and study for my classes dammit. now it wont even let me email customer service. BOI

The App Is Useful but being able to ‘write’ would be amazing.. The app isn’t a bad app at all, it’s just average. I use it to rent out my books digitally and it is definitely amazing to be able to turn to a specific page instantly and not having to carry many actually textbooks instead my backpack. However, the app could definitely go above and beyond what it does now. I’d love to be able to ‘write’ in the book to annotate, like box words or make little notes. Just make it one more step closer to like having the physical book but with less hassle. I’d recommend using it if you don’t want to pay full price though 👌🏼

Unhappy Yuzu captive. I only use Yuzu when that is the only way to get a digital text. I am once again a Yuzu captive and quite discontent. I just received a textbook and the highlighting is not functional on the app. I have never had this problem on Kindle. Hence, once again disappointed. When I called I was told they would get back to me - in 1 to 3 days. Update: 1. has been 2 business days since I called about this problem and still no help in highlighting on the app. 2. Have used the website version and had trouble with highlighting there. When I called they said, it works on our book here. I asked if they used PC or Apple. I was told they only have PCs. I have been told by techies in other venues that just because an app works in the non-Apple world does not mean it will work on Apple systems.

Randomly stops highlighting. As I’m reviewing the text and highlighting for notes it will randomly and frequently just stop highlighting. I have to force close the app and restart. This can happen up to seven or eight times in a 30 minute session! I’ve now had two texts through this app and there is no consistency for font types or text color. As someone with a light sensitivity I prefer to read white letters on black text but that isn’t an option with one of my texts. Some consistency from the app, vs just leaving it up to the publishers, would be nice. Out of four reader softwares I use on a regular basis this is by far one of the worst. B & N should be able to do better, especially with what we pay for these digital textbooks.

If you’re searching for an audio version of your textbook…. If you’re searching for an audio version of your textbook this app is not it. It uses an audio function from your phone. The voice reads things completely out of order and mis-pronounces basic words to the point you can’t understand it. When it says it will read all the text on the page it reads ALL the text on the page. Even the stuff like the title at the top of every page. The app itself is not super friendly. It would not recognize the chapters in my book, it takes forever to load, and the page changing button doesn’t function properly. Don’t waste your time. Use use the computer version.

Functional, not great. Wish I could get McGraw textbook on kindle because this does not give the feeling of reading a book. It is more like reading a webpage. Little control over reading experience. Has read out loud function but very robotic and distracting. Only good thing is it is less than buying the print textbook. Would not use this ereader on purpose.

difficult to highlight. The book is ok but extremely difficult to highlight important concepts with my Apple pen. I also tried to highlight with my finger but it’s as if the screen doesn’t recognize where I want the highlighter to go. This has consequently lead me to take twice as long to read chapters but I have to struggle with this. This doesn’t happen with Kindle ebooks. Unfortunately this is the only place that I can get an ebook for my classes so I don’t have a choice. Very disappointed and soon as I’m done with these classes, I’m returning the ebook for a full discount.

SOLUTION. It’s been a pain trying to log in this app. After logging in after entering my credentials, I get is this “error” message at the upper left hand corner of the screen. The solution for this issue is to log in YUZU via Safari or another web browser. Once logged in, a prompt will appear asking if you want to open then YUZU app pre installed on your device. Select yes and it will automatically open the app and log you in. Hope this helps

Love this app but a couple bugs. I use this app to listen to my textbooks for school however after the last update, it no longer stays plays through Bluetooth through my car. I miss playing it in my car.

No pagination, no page numbers, no view options in landscape.. Developer, before you respond like you have to others, please know that I could care less what the publisher wants. Instructors assign things by page numbers. If you do not do this, then you have failed to rent or sell the resource needed for a class. Pagination should match the book precisely and -in addition to- font resizing options, there should be zoom options including view extents, view width, etc. 12.9” iPad Pro with Zagg case/keyboard and I’m forced to undock and view in portrait and thus not be able to use my device as intended.

Absolute WORST app for students. If I could give this app negative stars I would! None of the pages turn like a NORMAL textbook, the voice that reads out load is trash and robotic making it extremely difficult to follow! Some students need the audio along with the book itself. You can change the voice via the setting on your device but good luck getting it to stay…get it together Yuzu! There are so many students who have textbooks that are only available through this absolute trash app! Make it better or don’t offer it at all!

Love this App. I am a paperless student and this app has definitely helped me so much when it comes to carrying my textbooks around. The app also allows you to take notes, and highlight as well as making it easy for you to search up topics and sentences in case you’re needing to get specific.

Awful. I log in, but the app can’t open my book *in* the app. After a few rounds of it telling me to download the app that I already have installed and am working in, I just gave up and told it to open the book in a browser window. Which just opens a window inside the app!!! Slower than **** to use, because each time you go to the next page, the new page has to load. Utterly worthless. I’m contemplating just considering my purchase as a write-off and getting a hard copy instead.

Decent App. Fairly decent e-reader with the ability to listen to the text included. However, there are some opportunities available that would make this a fantastic app… The voice reading the app is very robotic making comprehension more challenging… To the point that it’s not worth using that feature. The most problematic feature of all is the inability to use your Apple Pencil to jot notes in the margins. Lastly, some books get imported as a PDF instead of a typical book so swiping to the next page actually moves you to the next section or chapter. Other than those opportunities, this really is a rather decent app.

The read-aloud does not read the text in the book correctly.. The read-aloud jumps from column to column, reading the text out of order on some pages. Also, the read-aloud reads out some words letter by letter and this is very annoying. I recommend fixing these errors of the text read-aloud to make the app. feature more enjoyable. I really like the read aloud feature when I don’t feel like reading or can’t read, but please fix these problem I stated above to make it better. If fixed, I will give the app. five stars. Also, her (the readers) voice is very monotone making it difficult to listen too and hear after a chapter or two. I really like how I can change the speed of the read aloud. Not worth it, unnecessarily complicated. In most cases it’s just as cheep to buy/rent your books physically and this app and service is unnecessarily difficult. There’s a lot of hoops to jump through for something that should be simple. I’ve had to sign up for account on multiple services and download multiple apps just to read 1 textbook. I’ve already bought it so I’ll use it for this semester, but never again.

BAD APP, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I purchased 3 books for yuzu. After receiving email confirmations that I had access to the books, I checked and only had access to 1 book. I attempted to contact customer service by phone and email. No one ever answered the phone and there is no option to leave a VM. I sent an emaiI and received a confirmation email, but no other follow up emails. After that I couldn't even login. I attempted to call again-no answer and sent 2 more emails but no response. To their credit they did resolve the issue but it took a week. I didn't have books for my first class, but got them eventually. Now that I have been using the app. It is horrible. It freezes up constantly. I use the app on my iPhone 6 and I use the website on my surface pro 4. It doesn't function well on either one. Follow up 1 year later. Just to make this app worse. When you purchase an ebook. You don’t actually purchase it for an extended amount of time. You only get the book for 1 year. Look at the fine print. It should say you can rent the book for a semester or for a year because those are the options. You don’t actually purchase the book.

DO NOT BUY BOOKS THIS WAY. I wish I would've read the reviews before opting to buy the digital book copy through Barnes and Noble. What a waste of money! I've only been using it for a week and I've already had a million different issues. The chapter that I'm attempting to read now, that I have a test on this week, has a page that only half loaded. I logged out and logged back in...still it doesn't load fully. I find it insulting that Barnes and Noble would promote such a crummy program. Lesson learned.

Best for modern Students. I love the features. The app is for modern students, who prefer to use mobile devices like tablets for reading and note-taking. The YUZU app allows the user to highlight easily with different colors and listen to whatever text you have on the book, thanks to reading aloud where you can even change the reading speed. It also has an option for doing citation work with the citation bottom. Moreover, searching is quick and easy thanks to the index and word searcher(btw you cannot use a word searcher in a traditional book). Also, Look for definition just by clicking or touching the desire word and the option of creating a deck flashcards. Take notes easily or open a note-taking app like notability and split the screen between both apps, the best thing is that YUZU app will resize the format of the book so it won't look weird when stretching it. I am an Ipad pro 11 user. This app works perfectly with it and in a regular desktop PC browser like Google Chrome.

Yuzu is terrible. If I could give them a zero I would. I rented the yuzu e-book for my microbiology class for $160. The rental expired a week before my final exam and practical (which doesn’t make sense). I called customer service and I was told multiple times there was nothing they could do and I would buy a new one full price. I continued to escalate my issue until a manager told me that he would have it re-added to my account and it would take 24 hours. It has been 4 days and still do not have access. I am unable to study or do any of my assignments. This is extremely frustrating and unprofessional and I will never use yuzu again and would urge everyone not to either if they actual want to pass their class!!! Just terrible...

App isn’t great (HIGHLIGHTER SOLUTION yayyy). It’s okay for If when you’re done using the highlighting functions and notetaking system. But I find it frustrating that I can’t change the highlighters color like how I can in the web version. Blue highlighter just doesn’t cut it for me. They should really focus on their app if the want to continue marketing to college students who buy their books for their courses. I don’t see myself using this app unless they change a few things around. Update: after sitting down and playing with the app I discovered If you already have saved highlighter colors from the website the way you change the highlighter color is that you highlighter with the color already selected. Then you select whatever you highlighted and then THERE SHOULD BE color options display. Tap on that and choose the color you saved already. The reason why I still only gives this three stars (was one star) is that this highlighter option isn’t known to a lot of people hence reading a few of these reviews. So they should at least state how you change the colors of the highlighter in some sort of way. They should incorporate the web version more into the app version Still, Yuzu should update their app to make it more digital text friendly.

IMPOSSIBLE TO USE. first of all you apparently need some sort of account to access the app. there is only a sign in option, NO OPTION TO MAKE AN ACCOUNT. what kind of account do you need to create you may ask? well the app says you’ll need a campus bookstore account (which i don’t have a campus bookstore) someone online said you’ll need a barnes and nobles account but now i just checked the yuzu website and apparently you need a barnes and noble EDUCATION account (which there is no option to create an account on that website anyways.) i emailed the given customer support email on their app and the email is BROKEN. now im about to contact customer support directly on the yuzu website and if that’s also a dead end then i’m going to call customer support. wish me luck i guess :/ this should of only taken 3 minutes MAX but it’s been half an hour of frustration already

First thing first, I don't expect perfection from anything in life esp. technology, also if I could live in B&N I honestly would & have loved them since I was little, still do, & I am a voracious reader. That being said B&N should be ashamed of themselves with the terrible customer service but esp. since they're like 85-90% about BOOKS and READING. The fact that the kindle & ibooks apps are SUPREMELY better with overall use & book formatting should honestly make B&N feel ashamed. I think what makes it even worse is that most of us use this app because of school & getting degrees is hard enough without your school e-reader frustrating you chapter, after chapter, after chapter. You're better than this B&N & us college students need AT LEAST paragraphs that don't split midsentence causing back & forth reading, WAY more font selections & definitely font sizes need a tweak. It's either too big or so small I end up squinting or squirming trying to read comfortably. Please someone with power to change this app read & truly consider mine & everyone else's suggestions. We're trying to help ourselves with studying & making it "easier" but that is difficult without someone doing something. End of rant; thanks to those who read it all.<3

Need Improvement. I changed the color of the highlighter and ever since it has been malfunctioning. I also wish there was a “underline” function as well not only highligher. Annotation on the book, instead of writing a separate note, is also needed. That the functional reading app. I wish I could read on PDF so that I can use my Apple Pen to write notes right on the pages of the book.

Book closes/not user friendly. The app will not stay logged in. I then lose my place in the text book. I have to find the original email to log in again because the app tried to send me to an unfamiliar login page. I wish the interface was more user friendly.

Error on iphone. Looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. Every time I try to log in through my iPhone it says error in the top left hand corner in tiny lettering. I can log in from a computer. But I need it on my phone because I have it with me at all times. It used to work. But I just tried logging in today and that's when it happened.

Great app. Works great on any device any laptop, computer, website, I mainly use it for college but still has every tool you’ll ever need really comes in handy.

Running in circles. My book is there, but it's a single page, so I log in to my account, but it tells me to download the app THAT I’M ALREADY IN. Then I try again, but tell it to continue to the desktop/mobile site, where it let’s me see the book, but can’t navigate BECAUSE I’M NOT IN A BROWSER. Barnes and Noble seems to be the champion of shortsighted decisions, because surely they didn’t test this.

Decent e-reader. Better than lugging around a bunch of college textbooks but needs improvement. Formatting is weird on a lot of textbooks and scroll bar covers the text at right side of page.

Laggy AF. If I've already loaded the ebook onto my phone, it should be able to smoothly scroll between pages. Having to switch between pages constantly, and having to wait a second or two for each page to load is stressful. The features are there, but only almost done right.

Speak selection issue. That app made my life easier by using it for school. The only issue is speak selection not working properly. As a students we need to click on a word see synonyms or quick search and speak selection just like any page in the Internet

English Books Work. This app actually helps. You are able to annotate, highlight and read without the confusion. It’s set up just like a book that you get in stores, paperback or hard back.

Can’t login. I downloaded the app two days ago and I still haven’t been able to access my account. Every time I attempt to login(with the correct login info) the screen shows an error message. So glad I read the reviews before actually purchasing an ebook I wouldn’t be able to access.

Audio. I have had this app for a couple of years. It was great for text books. The audio feature has declined since the last update. The pronunciation is worse than it used to be.

Exactly what I needed for my class. This is a great e-reader. I consider it a valuable tool while taking classes.

All good. I read my history book through this app no problem.

Too easy to turn the page. I'll try to scroll down to finish reading the page and the app thinks that straight up and down movement is me trying to turn the page to the next chapter and I constantly lose my place

Straight-Up Money Grab. No customer service. High book fees, restrictive access to your books and expiring subscriptions. After their latest update my account was gone and Yuzu claimed it had never existed. Maybe they should check with marketing as the relentless B&N college spam emails keep coming no matter how many times I unsubscribe. Use any service but this one.

Access. This is 2021. There is absolutely no reason why content shouldn’t be available immediately upon purchase.

Legitimately the worst app I’ve ever had to use. Customer support is god awful with the ui being among the worst. This app will try to launch itself while you’re in the app making it so you can’t access your account in an endless cycle. The worst part is this app is only still around because it is the only option to use

Awesome app. This app is great. I can take my textbook on the go no problems and I can even make highlights for content I need to remember. Very thankful for Yuzu, makes learning and finding time to sit down with my textbook much easier.

Can’t Even Log In!. So I got a digital rental of my textbook. Got an email confirmation with a link to access my text. I can’t even LOG IN. In the app, it says “error,” and on the mobile site, I can’t even click anything. When I click “Log In,” nothing happens. My class starts in a few days, and I have no access to a textbook. I pay $1,000 for this class that I’m about to fail because of your worthless app and website.

textbook became worthless paid download. Zero stars if I could! I opted for an electronic version of my chem lab book because the app stated we can a certain number of pages per day etc... not true! I should have bought the hard copy. There are other downsides like the app closing on you while you’re reading the textbook or scrolling. Not bookmarking where you’ve bookmarked, What a waste of money... especially for a “starving student”.

Using for a Textbook. Yuzu is fast (no bugs), simple, and helpful. Great layout for the user and has a lot of useful tools to make reading a textbook easier and more efficient. Good option for eTextbooks!

Inferior features. Had I known when purchasing the etextbooks that I would have to use this app, I would never have purchased them. Very poor feature set compared to Kindle App, iBooks or LiquidText. 1. Unable to simply highlight text, required I select the text and then select highlight. 2. Unable to write notes on the text.

I can’t open my books. I have one book that I need to read and boy it would be nice if the app could open THE ONLY BOOK I have. Opens on browser just fine. I’ve had the book for two months now and the loading circle for the book still only loads half way smh.

Error message. I logged in on my Cel phone then tried to on my tablet. On the tablet I get a small error in the corner and I cannot get on!

Great. At first I didn’t like the idea of not having the traditional paper book. But once I began using this app I love how I can do searches and highlight throughout and make side notes in sections.

Is fine when it works. This app is very glitchy. It freezes and locks up my iPad, randomly will stop rejecting my palm and zoom/turn the page, it’ll back out of the book I’m reading, and the fast highlight works inconsistently. It’s annoying, other textbooks apps I’ve tried aren’t much better so *shrug*.

Can’t log in. It won’t allow me to log in anytime it says to login with my Barnes and noble credentials it sends me to the App Store then when I hit open on the app it send my right back to we’re I have to click to go to the App Store again

Page numbers!!!!. Can't see the page numbers anywhere and pages aren't separated at all so I have no idea where to start and stop reading to get the information I need to complete assignments. Very frustrating. I might as well tear the pages out of a book and throw them on the floor. I could find the info just as fast.

Terrible. This app is awful. I had to get it in order to read an ebook for a college course. First the way the book is formatted the words are either spread apart or on top of each other. Then the app did an update that will no longer support the older versions of this app, so now I can not read my textbook on my older iPad. I now have to read it on my small phone, a book I spent $80 on! I will not buy another ebook from the college bookstore which is through Barnes and Noble.

Apple Pencil Support. I wish there was Apple Pencil support for highlighting instead of holding down on the text to get the highlights to pop up. It would also be cool if we could write on the book margins in addition to typing out our comments

Not user friendly. I bought my book through Yuzu because it was what my college bookstore offered, but I wish I hadn’t! It’s difficult to find out how to use, doesn’t give easy access to page numbers, and overall just isn’t easy to use. If you have the option, I definitely recommend using another ebook app.

Terrible. This app is horrible. You cannot write in the textbooks and it is the most uncomfortable way to highlight. It is also annoying how you scroll through the pages instead if flipping though them. All in all if my textbooks didn’t automatically download to this app I would avoid it at all costs.

Hard copy books are better worth buying.. Takes a couple seconds to load every time. If the app closes itself then you’re screwed because you lose the page. You can’t make quick and easy notes on It. Just highlight couple words and make an annotation to that. I do not recommend purchasing these books.

I love this app. I really am enjoying being able to highlight and add notes to the text. This app then keeps them all for you ! It makes writing papers so much easier and it still feels like paper to pencil, which I love.

Battery eater. I don’t know how the software was ran, maybe it used a lot of ram or something. My iPad’s battery was literally drained by this app. Please fix.

Changing Pages. Page changing doesn’t happen automatically it takes a moment to refresh unlike kindle. This is literally like being online waiting for things to load, whereas kindle is literally like having the actual book just in touch screen form. Definitely won’t use next school semester.

How hard is it too keep me logged in??. Imagine if you were reading a paper book and someone was constantly stealing the bookmark out of it. That’s what this app is like. Not only does it lose my place but it also logs me out on a weekly basis. Other than that I’d give it 5 stars, but those two factors are so annoying that it gets 2 instead.

Horrible. Like another reviewer wrote, this was my only option for a B&N college textbook. If I increase print size large enough to read, the text goes off the screen with no option to scroll to all the text, rendering the software and $65 rented book absolutely worthless. I am hoping B&N will issue a refund and reconsider their software. This is not at all friendly to people who need a font larger than 9 pts. Fix it or don’t partner with the bookstore monopoly.

No way to change voice. I have been trying to change the read aloud voice and no matter what I change it to in settings it still reads a Samantha which is almost impossible to understand. The one thing siri is good at is reading aloud but unfortunately tyis isn't an option even though the in app instructions imply that it is.

Table of elements. This app is not so great when it comes to being easy and readable. No copy and paste function, making it difficult to create notes when studying. I use my iPad Pro and I pencil for taking notes in class and interface leaves much to be desired. Also, the magnification is pretty bad. The app needs work! I’m being generous with my star rating.

A Great app. A very useful app, very cost effective and can be used right away. Very useful clickable links that are up to date.

Must Read. If you're having difficulty signing in with an error message popping up, reset your password and try again and it will work. App runs fine, all my books are downloaded and I saved over $150 dollars on three Ebooks.

Interactive content. Interactive content is not accessible on any device. Notification of this issue was not satisfactorily addressed nor rectified.

Horrible app. I use this app because it’s what my college professors use for our Ebooks. The app has a lot of glitches that’s really annoying. The highlighter tool randomly quits working along with the note tool. I have to completely close the app and relaunch it for them to work again. I have to do this multiple times just going through one chapter.

Hundred Dollars to Stare at Cover. Purchased textbook through college library and required to use this app. After finally managing to obtain account information, the only available content was the cover page of the textbook, absolutely nothing else, no buttons or pages. Guess I’ll fail my class now.

Needs fixing, can’t sign in. Open the app and it says I need to sign in. Click “sign in” and it launches a sign in page asking me to sign in with my campus bookstore account. I put in my credentials and get a page with the options: “I have the Yuzu app installed” -or- “Download for your device”. I click “I have the Yuzu app installed” and it loops right back to the sign in page. I have not been log in on the app.

Ok, needs better features. Should be able to zoom in pictures, and highlight sections. I am using it for a textbook with lots of pictures and data graphs that would be nice to be able to zoom in on. Search feature is ok, but would be nice just to find one word on the page you are on, like CTRL F.

Garbage. Can’t login, just says ‘error’ in tiny letters in the corner of the screen. Judging by others who have commented, customer service just tells you to delete and re-download. Doesn’t do anything. Works fine on my MacBook, but I wanted the app in case there were times a laptop wasn’t convenient. Next time I’ll probably just spend the money on the physical book.

Audio. It’s great that there’s an audio feature in this app. Many text book apps don’t have it. It really helps because I am visually impaired and my eyes strain very easily. Super easy to use. Thanks!

forced to use by school. Just wish in the state of a free market we could use which ever platform we would like. The app is constantly messing up highlights. Almost to the point where i don’t want to highlight anything. The text to speech is straight from the 90s, love that i see better build apps with AI from hacks on tiktok than this app.

Can’t access something I paid for!. This app is awful! I’m trying to prepare for classes and I can’t even access my materials that I paid for. It logs me in and then tells me I need to download the app. I click I already have it and then it takes me back to the login screen and it says Login Failure. What gives!!!!!
