Charming and fun!. This app is a wonderful innovation of the top-down shooter games of old - the addition of smooth gameplay, suave mechanics, colorful power ups and weapons makes the formula shine here. A very fun and fair balance of challenge and gratification, I might add! Getting full marks on a level never felt as hard, or rewarding! There are some small performance issues that you may face if you're using an older smartphone model, but even these little blurbs don't dent the game - both Arcade and Panic mode are both fresh and enticing (Panic is the way to go though!) Definitely excited for the developers next move.

Woah👌🏾👍🏾. I made the mistake of deciding to play this game at work and have been trying to find excuses to pick it back up all day, it's awesome! It's pretty rare you get to see games with this much polish hit the App Store but it is a blast has a top notch upgrade system and has awesome artwork. I really hope to see more developers follow this example and no IAP!

LOVE this game!!!!. This game is a blast. Super simple, but addictive and fast paced at the same time. Definitely worth $.99. One thing I would love to see change is control options. The left/right buttons are too close to the edge of the screen IMO. If you want to go left, you have very little screen area to hit for that command. Having the option to move the buttons slightly (similar to SF4 volt for iOS) would solve this entirely. Please?

Fun but please change this:. Fun game but as a Christian I do not like the line where Jesus' name is used as an expletive by the scientist, when referring to the spiders. Many Christians revere and respect Jesus and to see His name used so cheaply is saddening and distasteful. Could you please consider changing that line of dialogue? Thank you.

So good so far. I watched the preview :) and it’s getting crazier and crazier every level!!!Now I’m on the fifth level and there’s always a blue big bug smashing me!😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 * and that stupid bug keep getting out babies!!!* and that gun is a very crazy invader , also all kinds of bug kill me! Lots of fun, despite bugs. Bugs in the game caused me to lose all my progress from the first world/area. I played it all over again and didn't have the same issue. The achievements you attain don't always get recognized by Game Center which is frustrating, but for the $1 I spent, this is a real delight to play.

Great Game!. So far I'm having a blast playing this game. Controls are extremely good for a touch screen. 5 stars easy. Need more friends to play with and compare scores to challenge against. Add Big82kid if you want someone to play best score against

The bug butcher. Reminds me of many arcade classic games I played growing up. Lots of great upgrades and things to keep you going like Jetpack joy ride. This game has quality art,music,and controls. Very very happy I bought this.

Glitch. There is a bug where the arrows dont appear in the start but I do like the look of the art.

Great game bad bug. I love this game, but I have to say losing all your data when you've almost beaten the game is a MAJOR disappointment. If it weren't for that big pain it's a five star game, but c'mon that's a no brainer, make sure your save system is solid, especially for mobile. Even still 10pts just fix the saves!

Doesn't work. Arrows do not show up. Have reinstalled multiple times and still doesn't work on iPad or iPhone.

Playfully Fun Bug Hunt / Slap Stick. Players, This is a lot of fun! The Alien creatures just keep getting more weird and difficult. Totally worth your time to try out! I love it.

Really annoying... No matter what level I am playing at this point, any coins that I collect doesn't reflect. I'll finish a level and I'm still stuck at 244 coins. I don't know why I'm not banking any that I collect but it's pointless to offer upgrades if you can even purchase them.

I wish I could like it more. But the controls are really pretty bad on iPad. The game frequently gets confused between the two tiny buttons and you stop moving or go the wrong way. Get it on steam or something else with proper controls because it's a great game that isn't well serviced by touch controls.

WILL NOT SAVE PROGRESS. Fun game but I have had to restart my progress so many times I refuse to play. Just when you think the saves are working properly give it one to two days and you'll be back to square one with no coins. Frustrating that such a glaring bug is still not fixed.

Amazing! But improve controls!. I love this game! Very fun and cool upgrades and guns! But please make the movement buttons bigger! It is super frustrating when you die because you missed tapping a small button. If this was improved I would give 5 stars for sure!

Classic Arcade Fun 🙌🏼. I've been a fan of this game on Steam for a while now, and I've been foaming at the mouth waiting for a mobile release... and it's here! From the art design to the frantic pacing, The Bug Butcher offers everything I look for in a high score chasing action game. Can't wait for more releases from these guys

Definitely a great game. The only complaint I had was that I couldn't upgrade due to my coins never being saved but the bug was fixed and excellent game!

Do not buy yet - Can't get past tutorial. Same as other reviews. Movement controls are not available after installing. Unable to do anything at all.

Lots of fun but it needs a little more improvement. Sometimes when pressing the special attack it doesn't register causing the button to highlight but not do anything. Also maybe making the fire button a little bigger and getting a joystick would super helpful. I love this game and would highly appreciate a few updates

Can't get past tutorial. Just bought the app. I can't get past the tutorial, arrows for movement don't appear. They appeared once in 10+ times I've closed and reopened the app, but can't get them to show up anymore. Suggestions?

Butchering Feels Soooo Good!!. I absolutely love this game! The art and music is ridiculously awesome. I need this soundtrack in my life! The humor in this game is so great too. The game mechanics are simple to learn, but hard to master. The controls feels solid and responsive which is crucial because you need fast responses. I love the variety of weapons & power ups. They make it feel so satisfying to tear into a horde of adorably gross bugs. I'm a full on addict at this point. I try to put my phone down and a minute later I'm already chasing another bug. I can't wait to see more from these guys. The level of polish is seriously impressive. I highly recommend this game.

Not much to be said then get it now.. First off if you like arcade games and simple controls "like arcade machines" the have at it! Music graphics and gameplay are a fabulous mix leaving you with more to come when your done. As of now 99cents isn't a steal it's a bank robbery! Note: if your having crashes it's most likely you don't have enough ram or a old device.

Fun but small controls. I am really enjoying the game play - definitely worth the 99 cents!! My only complaint is the buttons are a bit small and can lead to unintentional mistakes. A bit bigger would be perfect!

Can't even play. I was so excited to see this game got an update and fixes, but immediately disappointed to see that it's still broken. The arrow keys won't show up in the beginning of the game, making it impossible for me to even play.

This game deleted my progress 2 times I thought it was a minor one time thing and I wasn't that far so didn't care and I almost finished the game on medium and before it was on medium too and then I went on it every thing was gone and I almost finished just 2 more levels then it's all gone and it was hard I am so angry but other then that I loved this game but please fix the bugs thanks for listening guys ✌️️✌️️✌️️

Awesome. Does not support mfi controllers despite the claims and the onscreen controls are garbage. I would like a refund if I can’t use my controller. Edit: apparently I just needed to restart my phone and everything worked just fine! Really excellent game that reminds my a bit of Cuphead 🤘

Amazing game. Please fix restart screen. Fun shump with upgrades. It's a more interesting pang game since you are shooting bugs instead of balls. You have a dash and different power ups. Please fix the restart screen. The yes no button is extremely small on iPhone 6 so I can't even press the button.

Fun, Addicting, Challenging!. This is a very fun game with great animation and graphics. It is incredibly challenging, yet very fun and addicting. Love the progression system of upgrading weapons and abilities. Load times can be a little long on some devices, but overall I highly recommend this game!

Buttons not working sometimes. Sometimes the buttons won’t work, makes me mad as well you know. Having a good run combo is high and then I can’t shoot

Fun but flawed. Is a fun arcade style game but has some issues. Working through the first level went back to home and left the game. Went back later to play and it had locked me out of several levels that I had already completed. Also the stars that I achieved in each level were gone. Click on a level and I could see my highest score, so the game knew I had played them before but most progress was gone. As for the controls I could be pressing the left arrow and suddenly start walking right (even though if I look at the arrows the left is still lit). This is usually when holding down the fire button. This is a common issue with touch screen controls but usually I just increase the size of the controls. Problem is this game doesn't let you do this. Despite these issues I'll keep playing because so far I'm having fun. Fix these issues and it would be a 4-5 star game (not played enough to see if it's got enough verity to truly be worth 5 stars).

Highly Addictive!. This game is extremely fun and highly addictive. I love the art style and sense of humor. It reminds me of Metroid meets Galaga and gets a modern face lift. I'm hoping we see additional content for this game.

Best iOS game to date!. I've been playing iOS games since the very first iPhone..I've played through all the og iOS games, from the most popular titles to some less successful, yet great titles. I was even majorly addicted to WeCity at one point. My issue with iOS games has always been that they eventually get boring. That is not the case with this game. I've always loved retro 2d side scrollers and The Bug Butcher has that feel. With a super smooth engine, great music, beautiful artwork, and extremely addictive gameplay..this will be a game that will forever stay installed on my iPhone. A must buy!

Entertaining..Simple..Hard. Sometimes you need to be patient to passed a level

Seconds to learn, Hours and hours to master!. Game is easily accessible for anyone to pick up and play. I enjoy comparing scores with my family and trying to stomp their top scores. At first glance the game seems almost too simple but the more I play the more I realize how much strategy and practice is required to push yourself further and maintain your top score (at least topscore for friends list). Don't forget to explore all of your upgrade options if stuck pushing into higher levels. Alot can be gained from repeating older levels to earn more coins for upgrades and see how much your skills have progressed.

No coins. Fun game, biggest problem is the coins keep disappearing so you can't upgrade equipment which kind of defeats the purpose, as it is not worth the price but fix the glitches and it would be a cool distraction for hours.

The coins don't work. My coins got stuck at 135 and since I can't buy upgrades I get stuck on levels...

Missing MFI controller support for iPad Pro 12.9". Please add support for mfi controller like the version on Xbox one. Without that the game is hard to play on a BIG iPad.

Complete game. Good game, pretty easy, fun, a bit addictive. Have some difficulty with control(moving). Need more content. A bit to expansive cause you can have better for this price range. But i love it ! Maybe give a try when the game price go down.

Super fun quick shoot em up game. I’ve gotten more use out of this game then I have any other mobile game, it’s a great way to take your mind off your work for a moment to reboot your mind when things are not going well. It’s super fun quick break to get my mind off of something negative then refocus and get back to work feeling good. I felt bad that I only paid a 1.39 for it, so I went to buy it on the google play store but it’s only 99 cents over there to, maybe I’ll buy it on xbox or nintendo switch one day just to support them. Update: I just finished 3 staring all the levels on hard, there were a few bugs, where the actual bugs in the game would get stuck in certain places, but the problem certainly was not a deal breaker, the levels are short and you almost always die in them anyways so it wasn’t a big deal to simply restart the level when one of those fluke circumstances that caused a problem in the game happened (I understood the game hadn’t been updated in many years when I bought it so that was to be expected). I loved how this game could give you satisfying experience in such a short amount of time, most arcade and shoot them up games or just video games in general can’t accomplish this feat, and you have to be prepared to spend many hours on them, not Bug Butcher, Bug Butcher could give you a great Experience in literally less than a minute. Usually doing extra things in games that were put there to provide more value to the player are just tedious, but I actually enjoyed perfecting the levels and getting three stars on all of them as much as I did playing the game on easy the first go around. Most video games have cheesy stories, especially ones inspired by older video games, but I thought the cute little story in this game with its great sense of humour was an extra cherry on top. I won’t hold my breath for its release, but I’d love to see a bug butcher 2 game get released one of these days, if it doesn’t happen I’m glad there was at least one of them that existed. P.S. It’s also appreciated that this was an up front payment game, almost all micro transaction games are intentionally built to be unsatisfying addiction machines instead of real games, getting the money out of the relieves the developer’s of the temptations to create legal scams in the games such as switching up currency’s and even worse actually ruining what could have been a good game by shaping it around taking advantage of week minded people in the addiction machine style. I know it is hard to make money with the up front business model these days, and there’s still quite a bit of potential to become wealthy creating a scam on the App Store rather than an actual game, so I had to give a shout out to the developer for using a legit business model for this game. I know it’s a shame that a developer deserves praise just for choosing not to be a crook, hopefully both players and game developers choose to treat each other better in the future, but for now this developer is one of the few that sets a good example.

Great game!. Very fun game with tons of content. I love the music and art! Very happy with this game... just awesome. Latest update is very stable, fixed a lot of crashing and made it run a lot smoother.

Very fun. Graphics are great and the game is fun and amusing. however, there is no iCloud game save, and the movement controls are a little to close to the left side of the screen.

Very Fun Premium Game. Very addicting and fun! Love the power ups and upgrades; adds replay-ability to the game. And best of all? It's a premium game ! No IAP!

Buggy controls. For a game that requires precise movement I would expect flawless controls. Often when pressing left the arrow will light up but the butcher will not move. I've even seen the left arrow light up and my character move right. When you only have 4 lives and can't move out of the way it leads to a very frustrating experience. Playing on 6S Plus, not lagging.

Great!. This is pretty much the only game I play on my phone now. It's the perfect mixture of challenging and fun.

This morning I had beaten the game on easy mode (which by the way, is actually pretty challenging.)I was so happy to finally see the ending without it crashing and deleting my progress.I had also bought all of the upgrades.I was so happy. When I was trying to go to snapchat, I accidentally clicked on your game.I quickly swiped it up to go to the title screen.I use snapchat for a bit. Then, i go to play your game.I never thought it would happen.EVERYTHING WAS GONE.6 hours of progress, down the drain. I deleted the app and redownloaded it to see if it was still there.it wasn't. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! I want to be able to play my favorite game again.

Should I expect to keep the coins I make on a stage?. Rewarding is such a basic principle in gaming, I cant believe your QA engineers would let such issue slip by. I have to ask, did you ever provided any test coverage for the rewarding features of the game?? How can I ever improve my character if the game can't save my coins at all!!! Fix the issue and I am willing to reevaluate my review, but until then, this is not worth a penny!

Excellent premium experience.. A wonderful experience that pays homage to the Pang series. This is a superb arcade game.
