Definitely love it. Super great if you love waking up to the radio! (Who doesn’t?). Hella intuitive, can’t imagine not having it at this point. It’s honestly my favorite app on my phone.

Unreliable. My alarm has gone off less than half the time it’s set. The features are good and when it works, it’s great! But an unreliable alarm clock does not work.

Battery hog. Drains battery when in background. Sometimes plays both primary and backup programming at the same time. Sometimes the app shuts down and cancels the alarm.

Does not work with downloaded iTunes. Every time I try to use the backup music option, it will not recognize my downloaded iTunes music

Radio worked for only 2 days. Radio worked for only 2 days....

At least the better radio works. Some stations work, but some don’t. It’s still pretty cool though.

Unreliable. App is unreliable and frequently does not play or load streams, which is obviously the worst possible flaw for an alarm. Also, the interface is inefficient and not very user friendly.

Night mode. Having the ability to turn the brightness down in night mode would be nice.

Plays weird music. Plays weird music instead of my radio station. Anyone else?

Finally. I have tried many different so called alarm clock apps, but so far, all had a requirement for the app to be in the forefront. If I would set the alarm, and then do a final email check, or end up playing a game in a bout of insomnia, I would have to remember to put the app back in the foreground before going back to sleep. Not with this app. It is demonstrating that one can start playing a radio station from an app running in the background. Makes all the difference.

Worked great the first time. It worked great the first time so I paid the $2 to remove the ads. It hasn’t worked since.

App crashes/closes when I try to search radio streams. This worked great when I first got it, then became really unreliable, often not going off. Today I tried to set up a new alarm, and every time I choose a country, genres, or search, the app crashes.

Audio ads kill this app. I used to love this alarm clock app. But the most recent update started playing audio ads at my alarms' volume - which is pretty darn loud. There's also no way to stop the ads until they're done. I could press the home key to exit the app but I still need to go in to turn on/off the alarm. I don't mind silent ads but loud ads = delete.

Very good. I love this app the only problem you have to leave your phone on but otherwise it’s great

Great features. Large selection of radio stations. I love the night clock feature where you can rotate the phone to landscape orientation and adjust the dim large numbers by a swipe.

Latest update. App worked great until latest update. Stream does not connect anymore. Need to fix, then rating would be five star again.

I wish it worked!. I have been looking for an alarm that allows for variety and volume control and I thought I found it with this app... BUT after two days of working just fine, it stopped, despite no changes to the settings. Instead it sends an alert ask if I forgot to enable the alarm then sits silently while I oversleep. Unfortunately it’s impossible to tell what “enable” means. The alarm is on and set to repeat daily, the app is running, and all permissions are allowed on my phone. I turned off repeat and tested it again as a one-time alarm and when it went off it said it couldn’t load the station and was going to play the background song... BUT then the station started playing and when i went to turn it off or snooze it wouldn’t register my taps so i had to press pause on the main iphone sound screen and the alarm didn’t go off again after that. An alarm just really can’t be so unreliable, guys!

Crashes. Works fine if I use one of their suggestions, but it crashes every time I choose the search or genre options so there is no way to choose my own station. Deleting this app.

Only works about 50 percent of the time. Very disappointing

Not responsive to requests. Got this hoping to hear my local talk radio show. They weren’t an option, I requested them, waited a month or so, still nada, rerequested, waited a few more weeks, not even an acknowledgement of the request... Would have loved this, it’s a great concept, especially since I travel for my job.

Kind of a scam. No matter how many times I would tap the “x” to get out of the in-app purchase suggestion, it would still take me to the app page in the App Store.

Don’t Review Until After A Week. I’ve seen this type of review quite a number of times. This app works well for about a week then ultimately became unreliable, never able to connect to play the radio and instead plays preset music. I have great wifi and zero connectivity issues to the internet so I’m unsure of why this cannot “connect”. If you have this app definitely set a regular alarm as a backup because the preset music is sometimes too soft no matter how loud I set the volume. An app that has been around for several years and people continuously have the same problems means no one is really monitoring or updating this app from a developer standpoint. Such a shame because I did enjoy the app when it worked!

Works 75% of the time. I can’t tell you how many mornings it didn’t go off. I always needed a second alarm clock since I was over an hour late to work the first time I got it and it never went off. It says it has a “backup alarm”- interesting. Not sure where it was the 8 or so times it never went off this month. I’m switching to another app.

Doesn’t work as alarm every days. Whenever it wants, it just doesn’t sound......it gets lost buffering and that’s it, next thing you know is too late........worthless App

Works well, needs better layout. This app works really well. But I would prefer a better layout. Something way simpler, with bigger text maybe.

Love this app so far. Waking up to NPR is so much better than any other alarm. It actually wakes me up and I no longer hit snooze right away.

Great for school.. I use this every time for school and it always gets me up since I can listen to music and not an annoying beeping noise every morning. 5out of 5 for me!!!!

Works but.... App is okay, radio works well but a few streams aren’t available/don’t stream. You also need to have the app running at all times for the alarm to work. Meaning if u set the alarm sometime the day before, and then fully close the app (instead of just minimizing), the alarm will be disabled and it will not ring the next morning.

Fix this issue!!. Every time I tap search or genre it closes the app. I really like this app but now it’s not working

At least it works - but not all streams. Working with IOS 12, even with “Do not disturb” on and screen asleep. My favorite station is currently not streaming through this app, but at least I found a station that I can slowly wake up to. Seems reliable in its radio/stream functionality.

Stopped working. I used this app for about two weeks and all was well, then it just stopped working. I uninstalled it and reloaded it - and it worked for one day then crapped out again. If it wouldn’t keep dying, this would be a great app, but I actually need to wake up in the mornings so I can get to work on time.

Works sometimes. I need to have the app open in order for it to actually play the alarm which is fine, but suddenly it starts playing random music every time I open it. I need my sound on the hear the radio in the morning, but I can’t sleep to this repetitive obnoxious music. Please fix

Coolest. App. Ever.. I cannot speak highly enough about this app. I requested a station they didn’t have and within several hours, they already had it up! You can listen to radio from all over the world. The whole course of your day changes when you start it by listening to NPR news or music from around the world. Without a doubt this app has enhanced my life.

Works even when the screen is locked!. No other app works on iOS like this. Other apps have to be in the foreground and the iPad unlocked. Bedr Radio works in the background with the screen locked! I have one request - please include my local NPR station, “KBSX / Boise State Public Radio 91.5” located in Boise, Idaho, United States. I’ll be more than happy to modify my rating to 5 stars when my radio station is included. Heck, I’ll even buy the $1.99 version! Thank you!

DO NOT GET. This app is confusing and did not work. You should stay away from this app and go find one that actually works.

If it would only connect to more stations. I was looking for an alarm app that woke me up to the radio. When I got this app it seemed great, except it doesn't connect with a lot of stations. Maybe it's just my phone, though all but one station didn't work. If you want to get this I recommend waiting till they update it so that you can get more stations.

GET RID OF THE WHITE SWIPE LIGHT. Love the app, works great for a bedside clock and waking up to my normal morning radio show..... but that damned white bar at the bottom of the screen is absolutely brutal. We’re adults, we know where to swipe our phones to wake them up. Get rid of it!.... then would be a five star review, but I can’t take that light anymore!

What good is an alarm that doesn’t work?. I love all the features this app offered but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried testing it and it works fine but every time I’ve set it to wake me up, it hasn’t worked. I’ll get the short burst from the backup alarm but if that was enough to wake me up, I wouldn’t have downloaded this. I’m so disappointed because, if it worked, this would have been a lifesaver. I see this same issue in other reviews so why isn’t it addressed? The problem could be user error, of course, but there’s no information to help me correct that.

Streams no longer work. I’ve used this app for years and it worked really well. Now for the past few weeks, it can’t manage to load any stations. Pretty frustrating.

Best radio alarm clock app. Easy to use. Great looking interface. I love this app.

Works well. A few adjustments would be good though. The night clock display is too bright still. The snooze touch is too sensitive. The warning when you close the app is annoying. I definitely know why it’s included, just wondering if there’s another way to execute that.

Cannot chromecast. I want a clock radio that can send the radio to chromecast audio. It cannot. Many other radio app can. The alarm clock is otherwise ok although the font is too small for me.

Erratic at best. I set the one radio station every time. Sometimes the radio comes on at the time set, but at other times the back up sound comes on, even though I never set a back up sound.

Spoilt for Choice. With 100’s of radio stations to choose from you wake your way. With simple programming it’s all I need, good night

Works well. Does what it says it does and works well. Found it does drain your battery if alarm settings are left on (for example if you have it set to go off all days of the week) but I just got used to turning it off during the day and back on every night instead and that fixed the problem.

Would be perfect but........ This app works perfectly for me with one exception. The clock face is so small that I can't read it from 2.5 metres away. I contacted the developer about it but I haven't had any response. Fix this and I'll give you 5 stars! I'll even buy the paid version!

alarm doesn’t go off. i noticed that the alarm doesn’t actually go off.. thank GOD i had the auto matic iphone alarm set up or i would’ve been late for work. major bummer, because this is a good idea

Plus de radio. Impossible de se connecter aux stations de radio depuis plusieurs semaines. C’était le gros plus de cette app pour moi. En plus je n’ai jamais réussi à mettre de musique puisque je suis avec Apple Music, et ce même si je télécharge la musique sur mon iPhone. Je suis pris maintenant avec l’affreuse musique qui vient par défaut. Je vais chercher une autre app.

Radio stations no longer connect. App stopped connecting to radio stations. Hasn’t worked in a couple weeks now.

Exceptional clock radio. This app works just like your clock radio, only better. I have tried quite a few and this one has what I look for. It has plenty of radio stations to choose from (I use CBC) with all the features you need. Likeable features: Set a regular alarm or stand-alone. Have the volume slowly adjust higher, or not. Set the snooze length. Natural tap for snooze and double-tap for quitting (better than my clock radio). Have a backup song to play if signal lost for radio. One thing I like a lot is the ease for adjusting the dimness at night, far better than my clock radio. I would highly recommend this app.

I had a clock radio since I was a little kid in fifth grade.. Dependable and I like that. I will tell my friends in another month of testing. mdb I would upgrade but you know how it is… No sharing

Awesome. I have tried a few clock radio apps and this is the only one that actually alarms and plays the radio station you've chosen.

Useless app, unresponsive developer. Worked once for me but then the CBC radio streams all stopped working, along with other stations. Two emails to the developer’s support address over a few weeks have gone completely unanswered. Don’t even bother with this app unless it’s fixed but based on their continued lack of any response I’d say that is extremely unlikely.

Alarms don't go off. You're better off just spending $20 and buying a real alarm clock. The alarms I've set on this app don't even go off anymore. I have to set back ups from my phone clock every time. Not worth the download

Love it!!. I love waking up to music that stays the same volume. I tried buying an old fashioned alarm clock and they automatically make the alarm music go louder and louder which I hated. It's so relaxing listening to the soft music for a bit before I start my day. I also love that I can look over at my phone to see what time it is without getting out of bed :))

Wholly unreliable. Would love it if I could actually rely on the radio alarm to actually go off every morning. Also, does not appear to work unless the app is running (whether in background or foreground).

Work well but uses a ton of battery. The app is exactly what I wanted but then I suddenly noticed my phone was dying before the end of the day. I went to the battery stats and this app was eating half my battery up just sitting in background. The app needs work to fix this to make it usable.

Make sure your phone is plugged in!. Great app but it uses a ton of battery. I left my phone off charge one night, with 100% battery, and in the morning it was down to 27%. If that could be corrected, I’d use it very night but until then I’ll use something else.

Love it, but has bugs. Alarm doesn’t always go off it seems. Probably die to the interaction with the focus option in IOS. Otherwise hreat when ot works.

(REVISED: PROBLEM SOLVED) Not fully functional. Developer doesn’t care.. I’m revising my earlier review to reflect the fact that the developer did reach out to me personally on a couple of occasions to understand the problem and find a way to solve it. Which he has. Simply, the issue was with how some providers changed the way they streamed their content. The app now works perfectly again and I’m once again a satisfied customer. (Old review follows for context.) Some time ago this app stopped being able to connect to most of the local radio stations it lists. Repeated emails via the app’s recommended channels go off into the void with no recognition or resolution on the part of the developer. I, like many, paid for this app and he still doesn’t seem to care.

Consumes too much battery. It’s a good app. Several station radio options, but it consumes a lot of battery! Even in background activity!!!

If it worked. If the radio kicked in all the time this would be my favourite ap ... but it doesn't

Most radio stations failed connecting. I tried to give feedback on the developer site before posting this but there was no place obvious to send a message. The concept looks great but I was looking for easy listening radio stations and four out of five buffered but always failed to stream. There were also some Radio sites that had a recording saying that certain apps have permission to use their sites but if this one does not connect to their radio station it has not received legal right to listen to their site. If they clean it up and illuminate the ones from the list that do not connect it will be much better

Great radio alarm app.. This is the radio alarm app of my dreams. I have this installed on a new iPhone 7 and it's been a good experience. There are tons of stations to choose from and the alarm setup is very straightforward. IT JUST WORKS. I'm never waking up to the same caustic alarm clock beeping sound again. 2 Drawbacks: 1. The app needs to be open in the background for the alarm to go off. To avoid oversleeping, always test the alarm once after you set it up to see if it works. While the bedr alarm app has a backup alarm, I always set a backup alarm from the iPhone clock app too. 2. Nighttime mode drains the battery. I don't like plugging my phone in overnight because it reduces battery efficiency over time. Just don't use night time mode if you don't want to leave your phone plugged in overnight.

Works Like I Wanted. I've been wanting a radio alarm clock app for awhile and this one works perfectly and allows you to search for different genres of music throughout the world. Easy to use and no complaints.

Best radio alarm clock I've come across so far.. I just wanted to wake up to my local public radio station without having to go buy a physical clock radio. This app is exactly that, and has an easy-to-use interface. It didn't have my usual radio station in the list, so I put in a request to have it added to the app and it was there the next day when I checked for it. Very pleased with the response time and will happily give this app 5 stars.

It used to work great. Finally found a clean, simple app that did exactly what I wanted. However it only worked for me for 2 days. Since the latest updated it always fails initialize station and plays a music piece instead. Still holding out hope it'll be fixed.

Wake up to my fav radio station. I was searching for a simpler clock radio app that would let me wake up to my favorite local radio station. This is it!

Swing and a miss. I tried to like this app. First issue was that unless the app was open and in the foreground there was no wakeup. I loved the fade in feature. Best thing about it. The radio streams would randomly not buffer or in my search for stations many if not most had link issues. I liked the backup of playing from my library if the stream is not there. Having the ability to select songs to randomly play from a playlist or genre would be nice. With so many stations failing overnight, I got tired of waking up to the same song every morning.

Update broke it *fixed. Edit Recent update fixed issues. Yay **************** All I get now is a few seconds of some chimes or something. Radio never works unless I manually start. Hope it gets fixed. Have to try other app for now Recent update to fix the issue seemed like it worked. But it only worked once and hasn't worked since.

Radio has not gone off, back up radio has not gone off. Missed my alarm -- again! I tested everything out and it didn't work. I will not use this app anymore. It worked in the version before April.

Does. Not. Work.. This thing disables itself alllll the time. Set an alarm, confirm it's on, go to sleep... Nothing. Set up a backup alarm, which also does...nothing. Don't use if you actually need to wake up at a certain time. Update: Betrayed me for the last time. Dropping a star and deleting.

It just doesn't work. I tried downloading this application three different times. It worked twice, and I could never figure out what the common thread was. Mostly it's just failed to work, so I deleted it for the final time.

Better than my old radio alarm clock. This is a great app. I used to use an old alarm clock to wake me up but I was often making mistakes when setting it. Also the radio was never clear sounding, so I would wake up to the scary sound of static mixed with voices. Because of this I started using my phone as an alarm but I missed waking up to my favorite radio station. Problem solved! This app was very easy to use and I woke up easily this morning. I just wish the sleeper timer had more options. I would like to be able to set it to 20 or 30 minutes instead of the full hour.

Good but some fixes needed. This app is the best designed clock radio and I like that you can search for thousands of stations, not just preset ones. This way I can wake up to my local NPR station and hear the news. However, you need a feature that just lets you play the radio from the app's home screen. Currently you have to edit the alarm settings to just hear the radio. Also, please provide tones within app for the back up alarm. I don't have music on my phone to set it to.

Eats the battery!. This app has great features, but unless you are near a charger all day, DO NOT GET IT. It eats 55% of my battery even with pending alarms turned off. I have tried it several times and even bought the Pro version. If the deveoper can tame the battery usage, I will be back.

Great radio alarm app that does the job!. Finally, a free radio alarm app that works! Easy to navigate, set alarm time and select radio station. I like waking up to NPR in the mornings instead of a noisy alarm and this app lets me do that. I'm also glad the app lets you choose a back up song for an alarm in the case that the radio station doesn't load for whatever reason, but I haven't had that happen to me yet. Just make sure to keep the phone charged all night while the app is open. Excellent app that works as radio alarm!

Glitch. It closes when I try to search stations or as soon as I select a genera.

It won't connect. I can never connect to any of my favorite stations. Like this morning it failed to connect to the station that I chose and I got to work. Like come on. I though that if I could find at least one radio station even if it isn't a favorite that it would still connect in the morning, but nope!

Great app. Why Apple doesn't integrate radio stations into its alarm app, I don't know (how have people woken up for decades?), but this app does it well. Very intuitive. I recommend without hesitation.

Won't work. I get all the way to "done" of the alarm set up, but after it says "alarm not active" and I have to do it all over again. I've done it about 6 times now. Really disappointed

EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Finally! A radio alarm clock app that actually does what it's supposed to: wake you up with a live radio stream. I've tried so many other apps claiming to do the same thing, but done actually performed what they were supposed to. The free version of bedr works great, but I did the ad-free upgrade just because I want the creator to have my money for doing a great job with the app. Thanks!

Needs some fixing. Turning the alarm off or using the snooze function is not possible from the lock screen. I tried it several times and no matter where I tap the screen or how often, nothing happens. The home screen didn't light up for the alarm either, so I also tried pressing the home button first with no result. If I have to wake up enough to unlock my phone to snooze the app, then there is no point to it. If they fix that problem it could be a good app, but for now I deleted it.

Exactly what I was looking for!. My clock radio often gets interference causing it to sometimes not be audible. I wanted an alarm class CDK that plays radio from my phone! This app is very simple to use and works flawlessly. Can even set up multiple alarms!!

It has changed my waking-up habits!. Really. I've been looking for a radio-alarm app for a long time. It seems so simple, but no other app did the job. Last week I almost bought that old style radio clock for about US$60!!! I swear. That was because I really wanted to wake up earlier, but I was struggling to achieve that. However, after a hotel experience with a radio-clock, I noticed how easier it would be if I had one. Surprisingly, after trying Bedr for a week, it is doing the job perfectly. No bugs. After long years trying, something as simple as Bedr has completely changed my waking-up habits. It's worth noticing that I almost never write reviews. But I'm really thankful that I didn't give up. It should an example for Spotify. Keep it simple!

Everything is solved, time to pack up and go home. Thankful to have the chance to donate my massive alarm clock radio to science. Apple apparently enabled the ability to access system resources to wake and run apps in a background state. Last and note least, the app has a quality UI and features too.

Stream Failed. I tried over three different popular radio stations and the same pop-up kept coming up saying that the stream failed. All of the radio stations that I like said the stream failed and has been reported to be fixed. I really wanted to like this app but it does not serve it's main purpose.
