Outback Steakhouse Comments & Reviews 2026
The app does not work. Trying to use this app is near impossible. I’m not one to write reviews, but they have left me no choice. We asked the waitress for help and she stated that she had no idea how to use it. That’s great! The app stated you could enter your visits after the fact, so we decided to not waste our time in the restaurant and we would enter it at home. Once we got home and logged on it asked us to wait 24 hours… I don’t know about you, but a lot happens in that amount of time around here, one can easily forget or just lose the receipt. Well, I waited 2 weeks because it said you have 30 days. Now I tried entering and it won’t recognize my visit! We love their food, just not the app!!
Excellent—need more custom options. 4 stars instead of 5 for lack of specific/custom ordering. I had to call my location for part of my order. Ordering on the app is so easy. There are many items that don’t offer customization, though. Tonight specifically, I wanted to order the Bloomin’ Bundle with sides of cheese fries and veggies. Although the description listed FF as an option, only mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables were available as choices to order. Ultimately, I had to call my order in instead of using the app to order and pay. Bummer. But my Outback was able to do the Bundle with Aussie Fries + cheese (for an upcharge of course)! Yay! So I called the bundle in and ordered other stuff thru the app. Please add the ability to order and customize sides. Please add the ability to order (and pay for) extra sauce(s), bread, etc. I hope someone at Outback sees this. Thank you!!
Great eats!. We order take out from Outback 2-4 times a month. We bring food in for both family and company. Everyone loves it. We feel blessed. Before digging in we bow our heads and thank God for our Outback, pray for the people there and for the restaurant’s continued success. One time long ago we got a steak with grizzle. When asked if the food was okay we told them and they gave us a free steak. They said they had to change their source. It never happened again. It was explained to us that the steaks keep cooking as they are being delivered to the house. They have it down pat. They know their stuff.
App changed and it is the worst. The app has changed so you can’t pay through the app. Carrabba’s is still working like it should. Please fix this ASAP. So I got an email to use the web site and we visited again but we had 2 families and as I was told to use it and it said that there are more than one check use the app. Again I would give this app a ZERO NOW BUT IT WILL NOT TAKE IT. THIS APP NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANCES. I CAN BELIEVE THAT THE PARTNER APPS HAVEN’T CHANGE. PLEASE PUT BACK THE APPS AS IT WAS AND MAKE AN UPDATE LIKE THE REST OF THE APP WORLD. WHO EVER MADE THIS CHANGE HAS NO COMMAND SENSE AND SHOULD BE FIRED. I HOPE THEY DON’T MANAGE THE SAME WAY YOU WOULD LOSE GOOD WORKER. This is a complete inconvenience to your customers. Please don’t blame COVID for this dumb change. This is a major inconvenience for me and others.
So glad to have Outback in Pasadena TX. We are so excited that Outback came to Pasadena TX. From the dine in experience, pick up, or delivery it has been an awesome experience. I think that is due to the great managers Mike and Stephanie. They make you feel so welcome and that your business is important to them. It’s like seeing a good friend. They have also hired excellent waiters like “Mike” who does an incredible job of taking care of you. The food is always consistently prepared. Thanks for the variety of choices and reasonably priced items. Great job mate!!!
Awesome Dinner. We come over to the Camp Hill Outback because we never seem to have to complain about anything. The manager is awesome. The service is always awesome. We stopped going to the Harrisburg Outback which is 5 minutes from our home because it is still worth going over to Camp Hill to keep from having drama with our dinner. I’d rather just have good service and a good meal instead of complaining and getting our meal comped. Not worth it.
Does not work well. I immediately received a message that my info has been removed from my phone but that all my rewards were still safe. I tried to determine what my current reward status was, but could not determine if my email was logged in. When I tried to link my account rewards with my email, it said there was already an account with my email address which I knew already. I could never get my visit recorded in order to earn rewards. When I paid my bill with the app, it would not let me email my receipt. When checking the email receipt option, I put my email address in. The PayNow button would not activate until I unchecked the email option. Strange behavior. I guess the Dine Rewards will never be a reality for me.
Great App, but STILL has incorrect phone #. This is a Great App, but it STILL has incorrect phone number for me (the number app uses to text me that my table is ready). I change # on App each time I make a reservation, but it always goes back to incorrect phone number the next day. When I arrive, it's a bit of a pain to have to log into the App to check in. Since I have LOCATION turned on for this App in phone's Settings, shouldn't the App already know when I pull into the Outback parking lot (so I won't have to check-in via the App)? Otherwise, App is a great tool.
Server and host point of view. In a server and host point of view, thank god for this app. It helps so much. I love when the customers come in and say they used the app. You can get their number and use that to page them. They can go to their cars and not crowed the host stand when it’s busy. In a servers point of view, I love when my customers pay on the app. That’s one more trip I do not have to make and that trip was saved for another customer of mine. Although, it is scary because you never know if they actually did pay on the app and you have to race to the posi to make sure they did 😂 I absolutely love this app.
The SOMETIMES perfect salad. I order your steak salad typically 2-3x’s per week. Sometimes it is perfect -with all the amazing crunchie toppings and such —other times it is simply the lettuce ! Not even kidding. Bare lettuce not even with 1 tomato ! When the salad has all the fixings(crunchies / tomato’s etc -it’s FANTASTIC! It’s just a risk if that will take place ! Hopefully your team can double inspect before exiting your kitchen. Thanks for the perfects times that happens tho -as when your salad is perfect-it is AMAZING!
numerous messed up orders. I have been a customer outback since the day they opened in Sebring, Florida. I always order the cheese fries with no bacon, layered cheese and extra ranch dressing. It is more often than not that my order comes out incorrect the majority of the time and there is bacon on it, which I cannot eat physically or the order has been noticed with the bacon where they remove it sprinkle more cheese on it put it in the oven for a few seconds and burn the cheese and the order. Looks like it’s been cut in half due to the mistake instead of redoing it correctly. The past three times my order has been not only incorrect with the cheese fries not only do I not receive extra ranch. I receive no ranch plus the otters that I order are not even the correct ones and the turnaround to fix the mistake is way past due as if I am given a couple $10 gift cards for cheese friesto hush me up thinking I’m content when my order is always close to $100 each time because I don’t just order cheese fries. The additional part of my disappointment with this restaurant is the customer service over the phone for takeout I believe the gentleman‘s name is Jared very disrespectful has a very bad attitude says things such as “we’re about to close anyway, so I’m not gonna even bother to take your order when there are 30 minutes remaining disrespectful comments, such as maybe you’re the problem, hoping that it gets better soon because I truly enjoy the food when it’s correct
Online wait list function is totally worthless. Don’t trust the app for making dinner plans! I checked the wait time for my local OB and it showed 5-15 minutes, so I proceeded to add my party to the wait list. Got everything confirmed and the app directed me to show up at 6:45. Arrived at restaurant at 6:45 and was told we’re all checked in now so go wait in the car... it should only be another 15-20 minutes. Wait!?!? The app said wait time was 5-15 and it confirmed my arrival for 6:45. It’s now going up towards 7:30 as I write this and we’re still waiting. The app clearly conveys the message that you have a preselected reservation time, but that’s definitely not the case. I’m not sure how the app helped at all actually. Seems I’d be in the same spot if i had just walked in. I’ll be deleting the app now and dining elsewhere next time. It’s honestly more frustrating for me to be lied to about wait times in the app than if I had just walked in and they told me it would be an hour wait!!
Doesn’t Work For Dine Reward Credits. We order outback at least once a week and we order via the app. The order process is easy and works fine for my curbside orders. None - not 1 - of my orders via the app accumulate points for some rewards. I have called and emailed customer service and no one helps. I tried to send a picture of a receipt to dine-rewards and they wouldn’t accept a jpg and had to convert it to a pdf for them to use. It worked that way but I shouldn’t have to send a pdf of a receipt every time I order. I have spent well over $1k at outback and have not gotten any points for any of it. App is fine - customer service is unhelpful and rewards don’t work for me despite numerous attempts to fix -
So so experience. I called ahead of time and the told me they weren’t taking reservations but there was no wait. So i get here and had to wait about 35 minutes but that was not my issue, they we’re doing call ahead a and didn’t tell me that over the phone although I pressed the option for call aheads. Then a guy at the door started feeding me BS which I didn’t appreciate and would not address the issue I presented to him, just kept avoiding it by saying we are doing the beat we can. Don’t appreciate being patronized but the dinner part was not bad, good waiter, good food.
Issues. The server was great so was the food! Then we go to use the app and then the evening went right into the rapper!! It wouldn’t work for my husband on his phone. So this was a royal pain for me because he is an IT guy that knows what he’s doing, unlike me who has no idea of what’s going on 95% of the time. I get to sit here with the ap not working ( and that’s frustrating as it is). He is explaining that - 1 it’s slow, 2 2 it’s can’t scan the card , 3 would not complete the payment, 4 kept flashing an error so fast you can’t read it, By this time I am remembering the pre dinner issue that should have tipped me off- they ALWAYS say you have no wait even when it’s 25 to 30 minutes. If you can get the app to be more efficient then I will not have to worry about the last item- after it tried to process the transaction several times- I now get to wait until Monday to see if it went thru on his phone 4 times or not. I do know it was paid on mine and is ok on my end. Let’s see if you can get your crap together...thank you for your attention and future correction of these issues.
Outback in Lynchburg VA. We went to eat tonight and I was blown away by the quality of the service, food, & the management!! It was great!! when I go out to eat I hate to complain, (former server) however, I was unable to eat my steak, so I just simply asked them to remake it. They gladly did, and it was wonderful, but then the manager refused to allow me to pay for my food. I cried at how blessed he made me feel. He had no idea but we really didn’t have the money to be eating out tonight, but I felt my family deserved it. I am still blown away at his hospitality and kindness. The best Outback ever!! Thank you so much for your generosity & for setting the bar high!!
Mostly useless. The app lets you pay in the restaurant, but that’s about it — and that’s IF it’s working. The Outback staff are just as frustrated with it most of the time. And forget about getting any rewards. I always pay through the app — again, when it works — but it never credits me for the visit. And I never notice in time to manually (why do I have to do it manually???) enter the visit. So I’ve paid with the app every time for 5 visits in a row, and none of them were credited to my account in the app. You would think Outback would do something about it, as this can cause people not to go to the restaurant anymore just because of the irritation of dealing with this stupidity.
newest update fails - why? stuck now!. newest update says good for ios 8 + and my itouch5 is at 9.3.5 so it should be ok but update fails! it says not compatible but ios should handle it however it lists devices and itouch5 is not on list - so my guess is this is the complaint but why? Worse is it wont upgrade so current ver still installed but when run it says forced to upgrade so now even what was working fine is stuck due to this issue - can itrouble yall to fix this? add itouch5 to list or dont force an update that just will always fail & stuck you! TIA
Outback app not recommended for making early reservations. Of course this was Mother’s Day, but when you use the app to make reservations at at 3:15 for 5 o’clock reservations and then you show up at 5 you still have an hour and a half wait to be seated; something is not right. Walk in customers were getting seated before our party of 6. So we just went to the bar to eat. Check-in hostess said they would text us when our table was ready so we stayed on list.... Got the text at 7:45 on App... no text... we had finished eating and were sitting at home 😳. No use in having the App if there is no consideration by the local restaurant (Rome, GA.) for booking early. You can get up to 20$ off bill once you complete three trips to restaurant if you remember to give the waitress/waiter your phone number.
Improvement. I’ve been using this app for a few years now. I tend to forget to put my name on the list but it is a convenient feature to have. I do wish I could place a to go order directly from the app instead of it re-directing me to the mobile desktop version. I am glad they finally fixed the payment issue. Previously I would have to tap on submit and it would glitch and refresh to the same page. I would then have to close and reopen the app and start the process all over again.
Online ordering. I don’t like the set up of the new menu online. When you order salad it doesn’t allow you to customize what you want therefore the items I don’t want are getting thrown out and that is wasteful especially now. Comments are limited to 40 characters and doesn’t allow enough space for your comments to add or delete items.
Great service/great lunch. My husband and I just had a wonderful lunch experience at the Outback Riverbend. It started with a very welcoming hostess who kindly seated us where my husband’s walker wouldn’t be a problem. Our server, Tiair D, was welcoming, personable and efficient. He gladly answered our questions about the menu and all of his suggestion were spot on. When we return, we will definitely ask to be seated at one of his assigned tables. That’s how impressed we were! I have to also say our food and beverages were delicious. Kudos to the kitchen! Everything was done perfectly, attractively plated and delicious to the last morsel. This branch will be seeing us again! Thanks for a great dining experience!
Ripped off by outback. My husband and I ordered dinner the other night and the bill came to a little over 50 bucks. The steak we received was nearly not edible. There was so much gristle and fat in the steak that when I was done, they were like 27 pieces of steak chewed up that could not be chewed because the gristle. When I was done, the grissle and fat were piled on the plate, and it was a palm full! I bet it had to be 3 or 4 ounces. When you pay $28 for a steak, you expect to be able to eat the steak. If it wasn’t a carry out order, and so far to go back to return it, I would’ve taken the play the scraps back to shows the manager. If I was dining in the restaurant, I would’ve given it back and walked out. Where in the world does outback get their beef? I also asked for extra bread and did not get that. I’m very disappointed. We have not been to Outback in quite a while because last time they gave me somebody else’s order, and I had to take it back to Outback to get my order and give the other order back. This place just can’t get it right.
Good for dine in, bad for online ordering. The app tends to work well for diamond customers but here is my review for the online experience. This is second time I’ve had problems with the mobile app. The application (app) takes the customer online to place an order. After taking the time to click everything you want and hit the place order button, an error appears telling me to call the restaurant. The problem here is the wasted time. If the application is not working, than don’t let me order. I thought the point of having an app was to make ordering fast and easy. Not having to navigate through the steps only to be told there was an error. Please fix or improve the experience. I would also like to point out that the mobile app IS online ordering. The mobile app actually takes you to the internet to place the order rather than allowing you to use it. It’s basically a waste of everyone’s time to make it seem as if the app does anything more than send you to the internet to do anything in the first place.
Useless. This app is useless and has been for years. It will not allow carryout orders to be placed in my area - a major metropolitan area north of Baltimore. It shunts you out to the regular website. The regular website is just as annoying, and also has been for years, because it oscillated back and forth between letting you have an account and making you enter all your account info (including your car info for pick up) every freaking time you place an order. We like Outback food, but having to enter all the information, and not being able to do repeat order (like my little dinky pizza shop across the street can!) is infuriating. For a national chain, it is really pathetic and sad that they can’t get a simple mobile commerce service right. I’ve been making these same comments for years, no change. What really burns is that after entering all your personal and order information each time, the website asks you about your experience. One of the questions is something like “if you had not been able to use our online ordering service, what would you have done?” This possible responses include things like “gone somewhere else,” “ordered by phone,” “gone for table service,” etc. I guess not enough people are saying they’ll eat somewhere else, so they don’t bother to change a thing. So much unnecessary hassle for what should be a very simple fix.
No French Fry option in Kids Meals. The app doesn’t allow us to choose French fries as the side for our kid’s meals, even though the photo of kids meals shows fries. You have to choose either fruit or fresh steamed veggies. The “bug” forces us to choose a healthier option for the kiddo, which is alright… but he also likes to get treated to French fries when we dine at Outback. So we end up having to buy an extra side of fries when we shouldn’t have to.
Outstanding service. We travel a lot and eat at a lot of expensive restaurants. That being said every time we come to Outback the service and food is great. You really can tell that they go through an excellent training program. I am in the rewards program and I think it is great. The Outback I frequent is close to my office so I can go there for lunch also. First time tonight I will be using the call ahead seating so I will see how that goes.
Very Disappointing. After a long day of travel from Illinois, we stopped at this particular Outback because we have had several good experiences there in the past. Our server was very congenial, but the service was abysmal. We asked three times for a few basic items - salt & pepper, steak sauce, and dressing - and we never received one of them at all. By the time she brought the others, our meals were cold. It was always someone else’s fault - the kitchen staff, the manager, etc. The manager stopped by our table to ask how our meal was, and we told her we were still waiting on several items. She wandered off and never checked back. We finally gave up and left half of our food on the table. Truly pathetic service!
Do not use. Gets stuck in loop. I can’t give zero stars, sadly. The app simply doesn’t work for ordering food. You add an item and it tells you ‘you need to change your delivery time’ (despite the field saying 45-mins to an hour by default) and when you click ‘ok’ it takes you to a time selection screen when the time selections are only for exactly one week from the current day. Figuring that’s a bug you can select your time, and click ok, and it tells you ‘you can only pick times for the current day’. So you can’t place orders cause you can’t select the current day. Avoid wasting your time and order with the website or calling
App went from great to worthless. This app used to be AWESOME!!! I actually ate at Outback much much more under the old app because I could “join the waiting list”. It made eating here a lot easier. But since the new “updated” app, they removed that feature. It’s pretty worthless now. All I use it for is to check my rewards which aren’t as many because I don’t eat here as much since they removed the waiting list feature. Just tonight my kids and I thought we would try Outback. I had to call ahead and said I was on my way and was told there was no wait so they wouldn’t put me down. 10 min later we arrived to a 20 min wait. That never happened with the old app. I will just not be eating here as much. And I hate that because we liked eating at Outback. Oh and while I am leaving my comments, they removed the Wedge Salad which was really good. But that’s another thing they took away that made Outback great!
Best food we’ve eaten at any Outback. Server was outstanding! My husband ordered the potato soup as one of his sides; it was THE best soup he’s ever gotten at any of the Outbacks! Generous amount of cheese and bacon - yum! His steak was cooked as requested and all our food was great!!! My husband said the men’s restroom was nasty. He didn’t tell anybody but me - on the way home. Outback app is great; I just wish it would give you an option to choose a dollar amount instead of just a percentage. The percentage amounts are on the ticket they give you so I would round up to the nearest dollar OR more, but anyway...
App works great but issues with meal. Dunes alone. Skipped the salad for veggies and potato but it wasn’t rang in properly. I also got an 8 Oz sirloin MR and was served a 6 Oz..and I know this because I am a long time regular and a chef myself. I never pointed this out but I have had issues with this location in the past year. It’s a shame to have locations like this. I have dined in Outbacks all over the country even HI. I used to be the chef at Tampa Bay Brewing Company right next door to your first location in the early 1980’s and my husband used to be a server for outback 26 years ago. I know my steaks and restaurants in general as I have many years of restaurant management under my belt. The food was great and my steak was perfectly cooked, we are in the middle of a pandemic too, but I had to report that this shortchange was a disappointment. Good day Mates.
Fantastic Restaurant. We have been coming to this location of Outback since it opened. We have always had great food! Never a complaint (even from my picky husband!). The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We have picked up our food or had it delivered since the pandemic and it’s even been great. Thank you to all of the staff. There are times that we have long wait times, but it’s Florida what do you expect?
A bit disappointing but.... Started off that our regular waiter was off due to the impending Nor'Easter due in a few hours. Boooo... but better safe than sorry! Then ask our server for a Fosters Pil Can. Get this, an Aussie OUTBACK didn't have any Fosters. Isn't Fosters Australian for beer? Grr... Then come to find out they don't have the Blue Cheese Wedge salad any longer. Disappointment after disappointment ended with an overall awesome visit. Our server Alex pulled it off, made it a great visit. She is absolutely awesome, great personality and on top of her game. Thank you Alex for saving the dinner visit. We'll be back!!!
Lost Dine Reward & Visit - No Reaponse. I accidentally added a reward I didn't want to use yet. The app wouldn't let me delete it. It said the server had to. She had the manager remove the reward so I could use it next time but it didn't get credited back to my account. Then it wouldn't let me pay the bill through the app. The server said she'd run my card and phone number and I'd get credit for the visit but I didn't. I have sent 3 emails but have not been contacted yet and my reward and visit have not been credited to my account. If you don't screw up it works great. We just had lunch at Outback and I used my other reward and paid with the app and we saved $20!
Great Place to Eat In; Terrible online ordering & Delivery Service. I love Outback steaks, appetizers & salads even though they are a bit pricey, but was extremely disappointed with their online ordering website & their delivery service. I was never able to complete an order online as the Place Order button would not work on any browser I tried. I always had to call to place an order. It took forever for most of our ordered food to arrive, sometimes up to 2 hours & the food was cold, the bread inedible by the time it got there. To be honest, the restaurant did comp me for the last & worst of those deliveries as I’m not up for trying again now that restaurant seating is available. I do wish they would bring back the crab cakes and pork chops for my husband, but otherwise, I’m still happy with dine in service.
Extremely slow and the app is terrible. The services as always been painfully slow but we went in tonight and there was a table with a sign that said for us to seat ourselves. We sat down and ordered drinks from the bar tender that was also waiting tables. Dinner was good but took a while. After dinner receipt said we can pay with their app. I logged into the app and it gave us a total of $118 even though the receipt in front of me said $57! For some reason it added two filet steaks to our bill(ironically what the next table ordered)! I had them fix this but the pay on app wasn’t very good. I had to click “Pay now” about six times. Hope I wasn’t charged each time!!
Used to be great…. Recent changes to the app are annoying. First, there is constantly a splash screen that I have to click past every time I open the app. Second, after a very long time of opening the app and quickly ordering what wanted, now I had to log back in and re-enter my vehicle info. Now there’s only an option to stay logged in for 30-days? I already have security to log into my phone. I need it on every app too? If you want to make it “super duper secure” then use facial recognition like 90% of the other apps out there. The tech is already available. Use it! Earn rewards quick but can’t use them. Youl easily rack up $5 rewards if you order regularly and if you order large orders like my family and I do… Which I’m gonna spend about $100 or more… Which is 500 points and good for five dollar reward certificate and more than halfway to a second reward… On my last order I purposely didn’t use the five dollar certificate I had because it wasn’t a large order but I knew it was going to bring us to having at least one more if not two more rewards because I was only five points away from earning another reward… I ended up earning two rewards with that order… I know I have 35 dollar rewards so I have $15 to use right?… Wrong… They will only apply one to my order… So I told my wife to go crazy and get whatever she wanted… We placed a large order and when I went to use my coupons it would only let me use oneReward… I know it’s only 10 extra dollars that I’m paying… But it really rubbed me the wrong way and is definitely going to reduce how often I order outback… I find it difficult to frequent companies that show themselves to be cheap and or stingy. The policy shows a lack of loyalty to your loyal customers and well it did not stop me from ordering today because it is what my wife is in the mood for… Especially after spending 10 minutes putting an order together… It will definitely affect my business in the future.
Why Can’t I Order “Take Away” In The App. The app looks great… if you’re doing “dine in”. But I’m currently only doing take out orders from restaurants for obvious reasons. When I specify take away, the app sends you to their website. The website doesn’t work properly. It won’t let me log in. I can’t create an account because it says my email already exists. It won’t send me an email link to reset the password. Basically I’m dead in the water with ordering take away online. In my frustration, I wondered why is not doing this in the app in the first place. So, I have place take away orders in person and wait 15-20 mins. Please fix this mess! Put it all in the app and be done with this mess. I want to support Outback, but have to wait for every take away order is wearing out!
App needs work. Great food, great service. Using the app was a bit clunky. Adding a CC the camera card scanner didn’t work. Entering manually worked but the newly added card didn’t appear in the card list, so I was tempted to re-enter the information but remembered the same thing happened last time. So I just hit “next” and it worked. I do like the app, but I can see that less technically inclined people would get frustrated with gaps like that. Last time I manually entered my CC information twice and gave up and asked the server to run my card. When I close and reopen the app, the new CC appeared in the list. Hopefully they can fix the app. Maybe it would work better if the restaurant had public WIFI.
Waiting for the next Update. It’s nice that you can now order in the app, but the number one thing I always did previously was pay thru the app. Apparently that has been removed if you are a dine in customer. I hope it gets added back in the near future. Second thing that needs improvement is the rewards held. It shows all the visits and I guess expired rewards but it doesn’t easily show rewards held and their expiration. I am hoping for these two improvements to rate the app higher.
App Update is a downgrade. Outback’s app update removed the stupid useless waitlist , which really was of no benefit at all anyway - as none of the waitstaff ever acknowledged its use. I always got seated after the party who walked in, in front of me. At least it gave an idea of the wait time- now, NOTHING! The app is now only made for mobile ordering, which has became popular since the China Virus outbreak. It’s so popular that basically the restaurant no linger seems to care about their customers in the actual restaurant. If I don’t have an app to check wait times, then I won’t even bother with Outback as a choice of where to go eat. Frankly, this restaurant used to be popular during the 90’s and seemed to have survived unlike a lot of other ones from the 90’s. Seems like just another legacy restaurant - sorta like iHop.
Never have I ever had such a bad time.. My family and I recently went to the Outback Steakhouse in Clay, NY, US. We have been going to that location for many years. We got an appetizer of your cheese fries which were undercooked, we chose to be kind and not comment on that and eat them anyways. For my kid’s main entree they each got mac’n’cheese, which they have gotten for years. My oldest noticed it the first bite, it tastes horrible. The ‘cheese sauce’ tasted like expired yogurt, and it was a horrible consistency. We kindly inquired about this to the waiter, who provided a blank response of we could take it off the bill. He did not offer to see if something was wrong with it, take it back to the kitchen to see if something was wrong, or see if the recipe had changed in the last year. All of which could have been easy tasks. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. The food has always been amazing, and we look forward to coming there when we can swing it. But the disrespect we were handled with along with the poor quality of the food is too bad to ignore.
Delivery Service Very Iffy. Their online system is five star. Their delivery service is barely a one star. Outback serves good food. But when their delivery service leaves it at the front door 15-20 before the promised time and does not ring the doorbell, the food gets cold and that’s a problem. This has happened more than once although we watch closely. Outback doesn’t seem to take this problem seriously.
Server was great not the food. This is the second time I have issues with the food at the location (82nd ave Flagler st miami) the first time I came in an hour and a half before closing time and the rice I received felt it was old and I really couldn’t eat it. Today I decided to give it another try but unfortunately it didn’t went good at all. I had to sent back my steak twice and my son’s once because it was cooked incorrectly, by the second time I sent my steak back I decided to tell the server to just leave the side and not to bring me another steak since I had already lost my appetite. Server told me he was advising the manager about the situation but the manager never even came to the table. This is definitely the last time I come to this location.
Frustrating and time-consuming. The first and the second time I have ordered or tried to order on the Outback app, I was never able to sign up for rewards. It kept oops seeing me. And then when I would get my order together and try to pay for it, couldn’t do that either so I’ve had to start over three times to get my order together finally I got it to go through, but it’s always a pain and not smooth as it should be. Don’t know what the problem is with my rewards, etc. but never a good idea to fool with that when I’m hungry.
Worthless App. I’ve got the app and try to add points by using the dining receipt. Put in the card number and amount and it won’t go through unless you pick the location. Click the select location button having just left the restaurant 10 minutes ago and it say no locations within 50 miles. I see the location I just left on the map for the app except it won’t let me select it. Just to check I tried a much larger city about 50 miles away and it still says no locations within 50 miles which means it’s impossible to get credit for the $45 we just spent on the meal.
Great Service. Kudos to our server Henry B. Outstanding service to my wife and I. Frequent checks to see if everything was ok and saw water and tea was always filled. Very friendly greeting and quick conversation. Made us feel welcome. We frequent this particular Outback and have for year primarily because of the caliber of people they bring on board. Henry has been exceptional. The food has not been disappointing while not always 100%, any problems we have encountered, though rare, have been addressed. Tonight was exceptionally enjoyable for the two of us. Recommend this Outback even though there is one much closer to our residence. It is worth the drive.
Server was nice nasty. Server Melana comped an item because she assumed I was unhappy w an undercooked steak. No convo. When I asked about it, she said it was because my steak was undercooked. I told her that I would be pleased to pay for my entire meal. She took ten mins to bring me back an unedited ticket. She came back in 5 mins and asked if I was “ready to pay, but she didn’t want to rush me.” She was so fake. She’d stopped checking on me after I sent the steak back. I told her that I noticed, but would tip her 20% anyway. I did, but Melana put a little rain on my meal. Glad my favorite Outback with awesome and genuine servers are in my hometown -where they don’t serve a side of racism lite w your steak, lol. #MinnesotaNice #GeorgeFloyd

Great app and rewards program!. We love how this app allows us to see the wait times of our location as well as other locations in the area simultaneously. We also love the ability to put our name on the wait list from the app. The reward program is great as well. The rewards add up quickly and are substantial. Definitely factors into our decision of where to dine out!
Ordering online is convenient BUT order isn’t always accurate!. I’ve placed orders online many times and I really appreciate the convenience of it all; HOWEVER, a couple times now my order hasn’t been complete due to missing items— side salad & blooming onion for my vegetarian child! A real bummer
Food and service are great app needs some TLC. I had a great experience with all ways and food was perfect. Tried paying with the app and after a few attempts finally got it to go through. Tried to order online, but was told to call the restaurant. Not a major issue, but I had not intended to eat at the restaurant, but since I had to go inside anyway decided to eat in. I don’t go to outback for the app or I probably wouldn’t be back. Again food was great and so was Service.
App could be better. App never works for me while on outback wifi. It won’t finish the transaction. The app also won’t allow you to use gift card and credit card at same time. First you pay with gift card and submit. Then pay remainder with credit card except your tip is limited by the amount you selected for the credit card and doesn’t allow you to add more. i.e. if i put $80 on gift card and $20 on credit card, it won’t allow me to add more than $10.
Love the Food But Not the App. Outback is one of our favorite restaurant and we drive 30+ minutes to eat at one so putting our name down on the waitlist via the app was very helpful but that is no longer the case since it has been removed. Had to call the restaurant last night to put our name down and held on the line for 15 minutes just to put our name down. App use to make that much easier but not anymore. Will probably just go to a different steakhouse from now on that allows call ahead seating via the app.
Overall Review. The app is very useful as well as user friendly. I use it often for the Wait List & tracking my rewards. The food has always been excellent! Only drawback if any is no matter when we go, there are always an abundance of tables but a short supply of wait staff, particularly if you are not already on a wait list!
Frustrated. I ordered on line on Outback Steakhouse/Diner In at your Madison Heights MI. Restaurant. I USED a gift card but they said they never got my order. So I had to resubmit my order paying with my gift card. I would hope that they didn’t charge me twice. I have been waiting for about 45 minutes & I still don’t have my order. I don’t know if I will return to Outback. I am very disappointed in my service. Martha Holmes
Used regularly. I have used this app frequently since it started to get on wait list. Most often I will check in before entering restaurant. I place online orders, track my rewards and use them! Service is high most of the time. We visit the location on Broad Street, Richmond, VA. I am thankful the app exists.
What is the point of having an option to order online. What is the point of being able to order online if it just opens another instance on a separate browser? Outback really needs to update its interface for online order through the app. It’s been a year of covid... you’d think they’d address this by now.
Frequent customer to my local & out-of-town Outbacks.. I am a regular customer when at home and out of town. Service and product quality has always been well above average. With the exception of Arkansas & Missouri my experience is limited to east of the Mississippi River! I use an iPhone and have not experienced any app problems. I regularly recommend Outback to those that ask.
Server was AWESOME!. Our server, Cody Logan, at the Sumter, SC location, was fantastic! Considering it was extremely busy as it was the night before Mother’s Day, he was very attentive to the needs of our party of eight! He was very nice and personable and probably deserves a raise! He made my pre-Mother’s Day meal even better than it already was! Thank you to everyone who made our trip to Outback that much better! Cheers!!!
I don’t tip the government. The food and service is always good especially if Edwin is our server. What I don’t like is your suggestion to base the gratuity on the cost plus tax. I have no intention of tipping the government. Then when you use the app to pay, you can’t put in a custom amount so the server who worked so on the company’s behalf doesn’t get what they deserve due to the inflexibility and inadequacy of the app. Others who use a kiosk have added “Custom Amount” to their choices.
One of my families favorites. Outback steak house is the best of all the steakhouses I’ve been to since the closing of beef steak Charlie’s. I didn’t think I would ever find a steakhouse I would want to frequent again, and then came The Outback with it’s great service and good tasting food. I am a member and will stay one as long as the service stays the same and the food stay good.
Update: waitlist is back! No waitlist option on the new update. Update: they have fully added the waitlist feature back into the app updating review from 3 to 5 stars. The newest update removed the option to get on the waitlist. Now I have to go to the website to get on the waitlist. However they added more detailed history on the dine rewards so I guess that’s a plus.
Don’t waste your time. I’ve never had the app so when I installed it, it told me that I already had an account so then I went to reset password thinking maybe I forgot that. Maybe I downloaded it some other time but that’s not the case because there’s no account with my information on it And their support. It’s not helping I do not have an account. I even tried re-creating another one with an email that I had just created so I know that I don’t have an account with it and it still tells me that I already have an account it’s not worth the frustration.
One of my favorite locations. Even on a bad day this location hits, the one on Atlantic is good too, but I haven’t had a bad experience here, I usually get a burger sometimes with the works and sometimes just a good old home style cheddar bacon, I know, how basic, but its always hot and ingredients fresh the fries made to order crispy and seasoned well.. yum
Needs some work. I’ve tried on numerous occasions to add my info so I get credit for rewards. It NEVER works! App needs some serious updates to correct this issue. I should also be able to get credit for rewards that are missed at point of sale. Even the Chick-fila app allows for this. Even searching for items to order on the app is not very easy. Please make updates to correct these issues SOON!
Saturday night dinner. We are in Raleigh for Christmas show at fair ground. Came to Outback to eat a steak it was the best steak we have had in a long time. Our waitress (Logan) listen to how we wanted our order. Logan was very friendly and was a pleasure to have him to be our waitress. This outback restaurant is like a 5 star restaurant. Thank you Logan for your 5 star service you did awesome job! Keep on Keeping on. Deena and Jay
Never works!. I have had this app for a while now. This app has only worked once for me. Outback is my favorite restaurant and the last 3 visits the app has not worked right for me. Every time I go to the restaurant the waitress (different waitresses) tell me it’s all setup for me and ready to go but I never get the credit for the visit. The waitresses even sometimes don’t know how to give you credit for the visit. I am very disappointed in this app and outback. Wish they would redesign this app where it’s easier to get the credit you deserve for each visit. Food is still great though!
Bad experience. I was Traveling from Missouri, to North Carolina. Stopped at the outback steakhouse on 1062 now Charleston town cent, I ordered to pick up two hamburgers. I arrived at the outback steakhouse in Charleston West Virginia on 1060 to Charleston, when inside to pick up my order. The girl behind the counter waiting on me stopped quit looking for my order, got into her purse and was taken care of personal business, instead of waiting on me I found this very rude and have bad taste. We spent the night in Charleston West Virginia got to my room and I couldn’t even eat my food my hamburger was so over cooked. The french fries were tasteless and cold,
Awesome Dinner.
Waiting List Gone. Why did you remove the ability to check the wait times from the app? This was a wonderful feature that allowed me to decide if I wanted to eat at the restaurant. Now all I can do is order a curbside or delivery from the app. I also don’t see where I can pay my bill from it like I use to. Please add those features back!
Server. Kathleen W. Is an awesome server, we found her to be very attentive, friendly and professional. We have had her in the past and were so pleased to have her this evening since we have had several poor servers in the last few visits that we have not even been here in several months. We will request Kathy at for our next visit. Mike & Mary
Rewards. I eat here once a week, I probably spend $100 each time I come.. they had a 3 visits they give you $20 off. Not bad, manageable. Now it’s everyone 100 you spend you get 5 off. I’m bitter because as a loyal customer that $20 helps a lot. So now, instead of coming once a week I may come once a month now. Plus they raised prices on everything i get.. Please don’t forget your customers who constantly come in and spend money…
Can’t handle the pandemic. This is the 2nd time I ordered from Outback since the lockdown began. The 1st time was delivery and the food showed up an hour and a half late and was cold. So this time I ordered at 3:00 for 5:00 curbside pickup. When I got there I was asked my name THREE times and no one gave me any information, even if my order was there or was lost. FINALLY at 6:10! I got my order. When I got it home, the “medium” steaks were charred and the food was cold. Lesson: don’t go to Outback again until the fining room is open. These people can’t get their act together.
Exceptional Service!!!. We love the food at Outback; however, the service we receive from the staff at the Newport News location is OUTSTANDING! We usually utilize the Curbside Take-Away option, our meal is always ready and correct. Byron is the staff member who usually assist us and his professionalism is refreshing and the reason we continue frequent this location.
Outback is off the chain. Our second time here at Outback and again we were not disappointed! I never like chain restaurants but we thought we would Give this a try. Great waitress (Kay) who was very attentive and on top of things! We were here to celebrate my promotion and had a great time. Thanks OB!! We will be back...and we are telling our friends and family about you too!!
Nice app but. Great for pick up. No more waiting for credit card in parking lot. But app is a little lacking. Always order sweet potato put there’s no option. Also need salmon well done. Not enough space in instructions. Run out of characters very quickly. Now I have to call store 🤨. Otherwise great! Thanks
Aussie fries. In the old days we would order Aussie Cheese Fries and received a generous amount of fries, cheese and bacon. Then the quality and quantity declined but the price went up. Last time I ordered them, I was pleased to see what I received. I’m on my way to pick up our lunch meal and hope to receive quality food as it used to be…
Great App, Great Rewards. This app is easy to use. It allows us to leave the restaurant quicker, we don't have to wait for the waitress to pay. The bonus is that every fourth visit we get 50% off by using the app! That is the special now, may not be when you read this review. Even without the bonus, the app makes our experience at outback so much nicer.
*just now* updated and still not fixed. I’m a regular. I like delivery. I have to use the stupid app because it’s the only way you will accept your own gift cards as payment and still deliver. I’ve now been attempting to order for over 2 weeks, unsuccessfully, because the option to select a temperature on meats of any kind, even a burger, has disappeared! I literally updated the app 5 minutes ago, thinking it surely was fixed but STILL CAN’T ORDER A FREAKING BURGER OR STEAK! Won’t let you add to cart until you select a temp, but there is NO OPTION FOR THAT! How hard is this?!?! It used to work!! GAHHH!!!!
This good app has been disabled, can no longer view menu. What sort of a amateurish app update is this when a food & ordering app can no longer be used to view the menu or order food? When you now go into the app’s Order to Go, which contains the menu and prices for the food, you get a pop up that says: “Order pick up or delivery? Exit app and view in web browser? Confirm or Cancel. “ Those are your only options. If you confirm, it kicks you out of the app. If you cancel, you can no longer use the app to see the menu. If you go into the browser, you can eventually see the menu and food prices as long as you designate the city and state where the Outback is. All this preliminary information that is kept in the app so you don’t have to go through extra screens in order to simply view a menu. Someone obviously didn’t test their software update before releasing it. What an amateur IT team.
Horrible service. Appetizer was cold. Soup and salad never came and server was going to bring our entree out until we reminded her. I asked 2 different people for horseradish and it never came. Server took my water to “refill” and never brought it back. I’m asked to speak to a manager who came out with the horseradish and explained its “made to order” but couldn’t explain why it took 3 people and 15 mins. When the check finally came, they didn’t even offer to comp the appetizer, which is pretty standard for bad service. Overall, staff, including manager, has no attention to detail or the customer. Stay away.
App needs some fixing.... Wish you could use Apple pay to pay for meals via the app. I don’t like giving my credit card info to all these apps when you can use Apple Pay when already stored on my phone. Also when you are typing (sending feedback) and a word is showing up on the keyboard and I click it rather than having to complete typing the word does not get displayed. Also the font needs to be changed to make it easier to read.
Worst Service I’ve ever had!!!!. My family and I had dinner at Outback in Orland Park. After we were seated and ordered our food we waited over an hour for it to be brought to the table. We watched other tables get seated after us, get their food, and leave before we our dinner arrived. It took over 45 min to get a loaf of bread. So after we finally get our food we ask our waiter what happened. He says that the kitchen was backed up. For future reference waiter don’t come back to us and ask what we ordered again and have us try and believe that crap. I would rather you’ve just said I screwed up and owned up to your mistake.
Call in. Love the food, especially the prime rib however, response service on call ins is severely lacking, considering no one ever answers the phone when you call the curbside service…. even if you called the main dining area, you get transferred to the curbside service and no one answers. I’ve had this happen to me four times where it just rang and rang and rang until I had no choice but to order online or actually drive to the restaurant. Other than that one hiccup, the food is great…
Nice App!!. So far so good....this app is very convenient. I love the idea of being put on a wait list by using this app. We also get rewards from our visits & will be using the first one tonite for just signing up w/the app...$5. when at the restaurant waiting to be called for an available table, its nice how ur phone buzzes instead of having to use one of the restaurants buzzer. Plus hubby & I enjoy the food and drinks here too! M. Pittman
Fix The Gift Card. Would have gotten 4 stars or probably 5 if the app was fixed. Food is great. Ordering is good. Timing is ok. The problem for me was not having the ability to add a gift card at checkout. It still should have been a 4 rating just for that but the 3 stars is because it’s been reported and the response said they are working on it but it has now been 2 years and it’s still not fixed.
Awful experience tonight.. I realize Outback isn't fine dining but I do expect a decent level of service. It took asking twice for my daughter to get ketchup for her fries. We were well over 50% done before it arrived. My wife and I ordered filets with a side of mushrooms. Those didn't come out until the meal was almost over. My filet was rare and not medium rare. When I brought it to the managers attention, she told me I ate too much to take it off. I said I wanted her to be aware of the problem and that I didn't care whether or not it was removed from the bill.
Doesn’t Track app Payments. I thought using the app to pay my bill would be a great way of keeping track of my rewards. It doesn’t. I have paid for over $1000 bills using the app and was wondering why my reward number was not increasing. Worse yet in order to get the credit know I have to actually have the receipt in order to get the credit. I would’ve kept the receipt for all the visits if I knew I wouldn’t be able to recover the information from the app. Now I have to go through my card statements to pull the dates and then call the store to have them pull the receipt. Not worth the trouble for $20. What a waste
Special Instructions field is broken. I have many, many food allergies. My last three orders through this app have all wound up with allergens in the meal in spite of my best efforts to describe my situation in 40 characters or less. Tonight the manager refunded my meal because nowhere on my order ticket did it say “no bread or sauce, melted butter instead” 40 characters exactly. If the instructions are never communicated to the restaurant, it’s so much more aggravating! The manager recommended I use the door dash app instead. It’s so bad their own managers recommend you don’t use it!
Used to love it. I used to love this app because I had the ability to pay my bill through it. Now, that ability seems to have been taken away. When I asked for help from within the app regarding the missing feature, I got an email from done rewards stating they don’t have an app but I can use the Outback or Carraba’s apps. I made a snarky replay and was again told to use the Outback or carraba’s apps because they do not have an app. Unless you are placing an order, the app is worthless. The customer support is even worse than that.
App won't link rewards. I signed up on the Dine-Rewards website, downloaded the Outback app, and attempted to link my Dine-Rewards account. When I click "LINK," and enter my account info, the app informs me that I already have an account. Yes. I know this. I was trying to LINK my existing account, NOT sign up a new account. You know, because I clicked LINK, and not SIGN-UP. I'm seriously at a loss as to how you expect me to LINK my account when I keep getting prompted as if I was attempting to sign-up. This is straight up ridiculous. First impression of this system is not good at all. I'd give this app 0 stars if I could, because basically at this point it's supremely useless to me.
Poor update. I don’t know who redesigned their website and app but you can no longer join a wait list in the app. I emailed the support team to ask if the feature had been removed and after nearly two weeks of waiting got a reply suggesting I call their support line. If you click around on the web site you can eventually find a place to join a wait list, but no longer in the app. This was not a positive improvement over prior versions of the app. More focus was put on getting you to join the dining rewards program than delivering a great Outback experience.
Good food. The Bellevue Outback serves good food with great service. We always like eating there. We give the restaurant Five Stars. On the other hand, the Dining Rewards App is complete crap. Nothing but total frustration. We give the App Zero stars. Fortunately there is a way to order online without the App, so we will continue to eat the food and enjoy the service provided at the Bellevue Outback from time to time.
Not great, not useful. The app is OK if dining in, but useless if placing a to-go order. I haven't been able to do that in months. The website takes forever to load, literally 5 minutes per item, and it errors out before I can place my order so I end up having to call anyway. It's basically useless. A recommendation I have would be to add your allergen menu to the app so I know my options as I have medical dietary restrictions. If I call to order, I usually have to stick with what I know is safe for me to eat instead of trying new things.
