Awesome app! Please consider some modest updates:. I believe I’ll save an official review for later after I’ve more thoroughly tested the app. It’s free, and personally, I would pay the 99 cents for how good it is. There are some items I’d like you to consider: 1. With how dense the law is, it would be nice to have a CMD_F/CTRL_F function to find something specific in the text — this would be so useful to have! 2. There’s a lot of text, so reading it would be so much better if we had additional options to edit and format the text to our liking. Something like what Apple Books or the Wikipedia app does where you can change the text size, background color, and brightness of the text. As for the body of text we read, some better handling of the margins and formatting would be nice. 3. The home of the app is a search bar that you don’t even use. It would be nice to have a dashboard like the Merrimack-Webster app so that you can see all of your favorited items, book-marked pages, and maybe see developments in the news related to items you frequently search. 4. A magazine inside the app would be nice, where you can read latest developments in law. 5. Updated graphics and animations. If there’s anything on this list you can consider, it would make the app 100x better than it already is. I can understand that this app may not pull in very much money and so it isn’t cost-effective to implement new features, but please give me that search function so I can find specific words in a document! Great app!

Visually impaired left out. On iOS 14.5.1, the app does not work with VoiceOver . Visually impaired persons their for, have no efficacious access to this app. It should be able to interact with VoiceOver and one should be able to adjust the font size which is exceedingly tiny for those with a little bit of vision. This app is useless to those who are legally blind or blind and rely on accessibility features. PLEASE FIX YESTERDAY!

Amazing. I can not believe this resource is free. The detail and work that went into this app is awesome. Highly recommended

I want to give more stars for price, law cannot be bought or discounts. She's blind... , though a bargain I haven't opened oncd 1 -2 year or more after purchase or upgrade but as it still works in the App Store and iOS11.4 et al, you ll never be at for malfeasance, infringement or intentional betrayal of the publics trust & selling unmerchantable unmarketable products across state lines federal pen.

Don’t waste your time. I would call this app legalese from the far left world. The definition of citizen of the U.S. is ‘white’ race only, as in the constitution. Garbage

Racist. This needs updating - lookup citizen and look at #3. This is disgraceful that it would even appear on the app.

a huge asset for anyone going to court. This app is an absolute must for anyone going to court for any reason. Without this app you will be in trouble because the definitions the courts use are far different than the definitions the normal everyday Americans use. For example; If you admit you are a US Citizen you think it means because you’re not a Russian Citizen or French Citizen you were born in the United State of America. What it means to the court is you are an Employee of the Corporate UNITED STATES CORPORATION COMPANY and you have to follow the rules of their employee handbook which are statutes and codes not laws. Being an American is a much better thing to be. You can not be a US Citizen and an American at the same time - it’s impossible. If you’re a US Citizen the Constitution doesn’t apply to you. This app is mandatory if you want to win in court.

Love this app. This is a great app dictionary for us law student or anyone studying the law !

It’ a dictionary and not a mess of games and quizzes. When I want a fictional I want one that is strictly business. Not one littered with a bunch of trivia, games, and ‘challenges’. I’ve been through more than one dictionary site and this one is uncluttered and to the point. I kept this one and it’s been a pleasure to use.

Very helpful. I’m currently in school for criminal Justice getting ready for law school and this is my holy grail. I use this anytime I don’t fully understand something. Sometimes I even use this to quiz myself before a test to make sure I know everything there is to know about the topic or word.

California attorney/new to app but great so far!. Quite frankly, I felt a little strange leaving a review so quick right after using the app for only a while. However, from what I’ve seen so far the app is amazing for the price. Let me be honest. I have been in practice for quite some time now and have collected many hard copy and iPhone legal dictionary apps since my first case. This one seems fabulous for the price. I have always used Black’s law dictionary but I think that is going to change. Blacks law dictionary seems to use their old reputation as justification for charging $50 for an app in which this one does everything it does for $49 less ($.99 for ad free for free with ads). Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? Well, while downloading I thought so too. When I saw this was a free app I figured it was going to be some poorly programmed App that would eventually be deleted from my device. I was very wrong. I intend to use this app more than any of my other legal dictionary apps. Thanks to the developers for making such an amazing App for such a low price. Best of luck to you!

Questionable Assistance. I don't think it is very helpful in that most of the multiple word entries redirect you to an entry for a single word in the phrase, which is of no help at all. I was really thinking this could be great given the many sayings in the index, but without definitions they are rendered moot

Great so far for law school prep. I’ve been practicing taking notes and case briefing for a Barbri Law Preview course since I’m starting law school in 2 weeks. It’s been insanely helpful on my Ipad with searching terms quickly without ending up in the world/mess of google.

Very convenient. Easy to use, so much more convenient than carrying Black's around.

Knowledge is Empowering. Well my dearest is an attorney, it’s truly a good thing to do reading before you engage in the services of a legal professional. This is an excellent first step. Politicians should use this app, in part to read the constitution, and in part to use more effective language.

Incredibly helpful. My common law and I are currently dealing with a massive problem and without having to pay a lawyer for advice I can just look anything up I need to and it all connects to additional information that is pertinent to the searched phrase/current content and allows you to go Back to the ones you just clicked out of . Pretty nifty apppppp

Useful App for Quick References. I’m an assistant prosecutor and I downloaded this app to replace carrying around my Pocket Black’s Law Dictionary for quick references for certain terms. I’ve not had it for too long, so I’m not speaking from an extensive use of this app, but so far, it has been extremely useful to be able to open the app while in the middle of a hearing and be able to advise the judge of the specific definition of any number of terms or phrases without having to fumble around with a hard copy legal dictionary. So far so good!

Very Convenient. This app is simple to use and very convenient to have on my iPad. If I’m composing a new document or editing one while I’m not in my office I have everything at my fingertips.

Automatically copies from your clipboard. Every time I open this app I see a notification that it automatically copied everything from my clipboard without my consent. I don’t know why they would need this information (which may include passwords, confidential material, or other personal information. But my review will stay at one star until fixed.

Law Student Necessity. As a pre-law student I can say this app is an absolute necessity. It makes it so much simpler to learn and understand legal terms, making it much easier to keep up with my professors and readings during class. Having clear, accurate definitions specifically in legal terms at your fingertips is an amazing asset for students. Keep up the amazing work!

This statement is very manipulative. All downloads on TheFreeDictionary.com are Spyware free. All the software you download from our website does what it is supposed to do and nothing else. In this statement of their website they use the word spy wear to mislead the average Joe into thinking that they do not collect any data for tracking purposes and sale for third parties but in fact they do all that and they tell you in the privacy policy that no one reads hence their play on words to infer the meaning to the ignorant. Its just sneaky

Decent reference book. I just started reading and got harangued for a review before gathering much data. I'm not a lawyer just a citizen who has to take on legal system so I need context, examples and where to go next do without those fluid features, it feels like an antiquated dictionary which fits the subject.
