Much improved app experience. In particular, the latest version interacts much more seamlessly with links from daily emails. (Previously, it was easy to get lost in a bunch of prompts as to whether you wanted to view the story in the app or in a browser, only to lose the article you were trying to view.)

Great paper. Nice local news stories!

Haven’t quite figured this out. I was doing ok with the old digital issue until this NEW edition of digital issue. I think If I use the “browsing” button, I can see and read the paper more easily. I’ll be interested in the new comic strips coming soon!

Terrible layout. Why does the index have to be so large? A narrow band would be sufficient. Focus on the story is impossible. Terrible change with this new app.

New cape times app. Very user unfriendly. Pages jump around. Very touchy. When I try enlarge an article the whole page jumps to super large. Then freezes. A lot of extra effort to read an article and the whole paper. Do not like the new app at all. May be deciding factor upon renewal.

Terrible APP. Sometimes newer is not better. This new version is awful. Did anyone get user feedback? The old version is much easier to read, no annoying ads when you first log on. Please keep the old version

Not good. It’s really hard to sign in to and always says there is a problem. Also I can’t see a lot of the pictures that I should be able to. I really wish this app was better. For $40 a year I think it should be.

Terrible on an iPad. This replaced a perfectly good reading experience. This app is difficult to navigate without pages expanding or contracting randomly, sometimes several times in a row.

Not a change for the better. I was prompted to install the new app and I wish I had not. Pop up ads blocking content, pages not aligned to the screen, articles that disappear while trying to read them… maybe this was not created to be read on a phone screen. If the quality of this app does not improve, I will sadly have to cancel my subscription.

Terrible App. Where’s the old version of the Cape Cod Times e-edition? Too many adds with the replica of the daily edition! This app is not worth any stars. Bring back the older version or at least give us the choice between the two.

Little Clunky. I find it a little clunky to read the paper online. The home page doesn’t stroll nicely and the e-version doesn’t let you read it as a newspaper article but rather as a side article in a word document format. But it is better than nothing.

The new app is horrible. I give it negative stars. The changes to the epaper app are terrible, practically unusable. The banner ads that pop up continuously hang up my reader, I haven’t made it through the entire paper since I was forced to update by the continuously annoying prompts. Please let me read my paper in peace!

Like it!. New subscriber/new Cape second home owner. Bought the digital only edition. Interesting coverage of the Cape and a welcome entertaining respite from the gloomy national news.

Cape Cod Times. Pop up ads interrupt reading Pages difficult to manage

Keep Cape Cod Times Local. I have read the Cape Cod Times for 40 years, and count on this resource to help be connected to our community. Since the sale to Gannett, there has been a noticeable increase in national stories, at the sacrifice of local news and events. I am impressed with our local reporters, who still bring us wonderful news and stories! I think they work hard, and serve us very well. It is up to Gannett to provide the paper with enough local staff to get the local job done, and not rely on using too much generic national news to increase corporate profits. So far, they are walking a delicate line, and our friends and neighbors notice this.

Latest version with popup ads stinks. I liked the app before, I have a paid newspaper subscription. Suddenly this week I’m directed to new version which has popup ads all over. Also the new navigation arrow buttons take away screen real estate making it harder to read. Hope they get it back on par with prior versions.

Hardly usable. This app is hardly usable. It scrolls on its own and jumps between different zoom levels making articles difficult to read. There are popup ads even with a subscription and when the ads appears in full page view it sometimes cannot be closed forcing you to restart the app. I am on the verge on deleting the app and canceling my subscription.

New version (Feb 2021) is much better!. Fixed the issue with images! Yay!

Interruptions. So many pop ups to collect my location or allow notifications or access my information. Stop!!

I liked the prior e-paper. The newer version does not work as smoothly as the prior one.

Cape Cod Times is a fine newspaper.. Highly recommended. I love the insightful work of Rachael Devaney.

Your new app stinks. Your new app is horrible, does not deserve one star. Why do we have to endure ads when we pay for a subscription? The screen is very touchy and puts you all over the place . Can isolate an article but cannot enlarge on the page to just review. I have other online subscriptions ( Boston Globe etc) which are easy and more pleasurable to read . To say nothing of the fact that it’s basically USA Today with a different front page heading. Seriously considering this cancellation of this subscription to get local news elsewhere, if this app doesn’t improve. Adding to this. Please fix this app . I dread trying to read it !

Terrible change. We used to just read the newspapers online. Now we had to download this app and nothing works, we have ads we have to delete, it doesn’t fit the page. I hate this

Last for one day. Every day I have to delete the app and reload from the cloud in order to continue reading more then five articles. Not worth the subscription fee.

Infuriating & ?illegal?. Besides the app constantly freezing, it does not let you choose cookie options (isn’t this illegal?). They are all designated as “always active” and do not respond to clicks to change them. Also, once one navigates to the cookie management page, which takes some doing, it will not let you close the page without clicking on “confirm my choices”. So, the app is trapping readers into unwanted cookie choices.

Unusable e-edition. The new e-edition is prettier much unusable. The old one allowed seamless scrolling and zooming and had clear type. The new one has jumbled type, constantly bounces you out to the non-replica edition, and is generally an early morning exercise in aggravation. Likely to cancel if I can’t use the old version of the print replica.

User Unfriendly. New & Improved isn’t necessarily improved! Prior format was more user friendly & loaded quicker. Will continue to use prior format till kinks worked out or my subscription ends.

Hard to navigate. Can’t find the articles of local and world news. Can’t find classified ads, obituaries etc! Pages are peppered with advertising. No local tide charts. Just just big business not caring for local Cape Codders

Works poorly. Doesn’t stay signed in and it is slow to load articles. Needs improvement.

New App Really Stinks. I agree with Mr. Walsh. This app is absolutely terrible. The most unfriendliest thing we’ve ever tried to work with. There’s not even deserve one star.

Great regional Newd. The Cape Cod Times keeps residents up to date on local and national news. CC residents can find out all the local and national seashore info. The virtual subscription gives all the info if you are on Cape or traveling and saves the disposal of a. Pile of newsprint.

Updated App. Much better update and a lot easier to use.

Why isn’t todays paper available all day????. This app is practically useless!! Around noon or before it converts from todays paper to a few stories and doesn’t hardly update from day to day outside of a few stories . Some of the subscriber stories remain for about a week. It’s about time you have todays paper available all day . Thank you

This paper is uplifting. The Cape Cod Times has been sold to USA Today. It reports the news of Cape Cod. Before it was sold there were always funny stories of crazy things that happened on the Cape. It was always fun to read the paper with a cup of coffee while sitting on the deck. I miss the funny stories but the news is still there. I’m now reading it on my tablet instead of having a real paper in my hands. There’s usually an uplifting story or two and I can find out what is happening on Cape Cod.

Accessibility. I would give the stories more stars if I could read them. I won’t log in every time I want to read—in today’s case the Japanese taking over the… Um, the… I forget.

Horribly glitchy. The newest version’s e-paper is terrible. It freezes and is loaded with ads. I’m paying for the app, why should I have ads in the middle of articles. And why do I have to close and restart the app several times a day just to get through the news. Old app was much better. C’mon Gannet-you already got rid of most of the local staff. The least you can do is give us an app that works!

Pathetic. I bought the 6- month subscription and have not had access to the digital subscription. I show the purchase through my credit card records of which Cape Cod Times “has no records” - this being stated by their customer service after having great difficulty in reaching anyone. So, still, every time I “receive the new edition”, I am still blocked with the request to subscribe. I am at the point where I don’t even care anymore whether or not I get their news; too much of a struggle!

Not liking new capecod times. I’m very disappointed with the new version of the times on line. Everything is jumbled together. And the obituaries are all over the place and repeated two and three times . Going back to the original etimes.

Confusing. I just want to read the paper, even if it is propaganda. I just want to go page by page. I don’t want to buy sports tickets, movie or theatre tickets. Very confusing, not user friendly. I will stick to reading it online.

Great Local News, Weather and Sports. The Cape Cod Times app delivers great local news, weather and sports. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is grab my iPad off the bedside table and check the Cape Cod Times app to see what’s going on. I can’t start my day without it. And I always get a kick when I see that there is a new Curious Cape Cod column to read.

Too hard to navigate.. Impossible to find archives. It takes forever to figure it out 😩!

Login Every Time?. The app is OK. I usually don't like news paper apps that paginate, which this one does. My harshest criticism stems from the fact that I cannot save my login information, and must do a complete login each time I open "the paper," which I might do as many as 3 times a day, since I don't read the paper at one sitting. Please take this into account in future updates.

The Cape Cod Times. Excellent reporting and a focus on our local community news.

Impossible to navigate. All I want to do is find the comics. But you can’t search for them. They don’t show up in the index or sections list. Very frustrating.

Crashes. Used this app for a long time, no problem. Now crashes upon opening. I’ve rebooted, deleted and reloaded, cleared the memory, nothing works

Ne me quitte pas. The app description does not say that there's a limit to how many articles you can read in a month. After that you have to log in and pay, I presume, for different levels of membership. There may be a free option but that would limit you to not many articles per month and that's no good. Couldn't verify this because every attempt to subscribe resulted in "Page not found". I did like the app for the 70 articles it allowed me to read. The limit is 70 articles in 30 days and that should be mentioned in the app description. After the 70 article limit has been reached the subscribing process should be streamlined.

COULDN'T BE BETTER!!!. I absolutely love reading the Cape Cod Times in this format! If you don't have a lot of time, you can quickly read the articles that are important to you. First I check out the Obits to make sure that I'm not on the list.😋. I do find that I read so much more of the paper than I used to. Keep up the good work. Thanks!!!

This app is so BAD. I would not even give it one star, but but that is the lowest. Why make us get a new app when the old one worked just fine. This one nothing works.

Enough w the pop ups. I already subscribed, yet constantly am bombarded with pops ups to “sign up”….annoying

Current date does not download. It’s October 24. The edition shows October 23. Why can’t this company get it right. I read the 23rd yesterday.

Full of ads and crashes.. This app is worse than the one it replaced. Too many pop up ads and it crashes.

Cape Cod Times. News access is good but there is no way to suspend your subscription account through this app. Even as a subscriber, I am locked out of some content.

Obituaries issue. The obituaries have not been updated since the new app Started. I have contacted developer multiple times but still not fixed. Very disappointing.

The App. The app is awesome, easy to find sections to read, no need for any improvement, great job.

Worst app ever. You need a technology overhaul. If this continues I will cancel my subscription. I should be able to read anything with a paid subscription. Not worth the frustration. By the way I have called multiple times with no improvement.

Easy way to access local news. Solid and clean app design allows you to quickly peruse the local news and national news from the Cape Cod Times.

I like this version of the CCT app. It's easy to navigate and at least several days are accessible.

Not worth paying for , or free.. I canceled by app subscription as the photos are out of size range for the app. Text appears fine but only a sliver of the photos appear. I love the Cape and I know it’s quaint but the newspaper’s app should be fully functional.

Ads everywhere, hard to avoid. I really hate the way ads are sprinkled throughout the app. It is nearly impossible to avoid hitting a link while scrolling, no matter how careful I am to skip over the ads. I limit my use to a few local stories, then quit as quickly as possible.

Can’t Log in without Apple ID. Just one more step in Gatehouse’s drive to eliminate access to news on Cape Cod. This is the most useless app on my phone.

It won't change over from 10 free ..... ...To paid online subscriber. I cannot get it past the 10 free articles a month AND I am a three month paid online subscriber. I absolutely loved the paper edition and was looking forward to the online. Evidentially it is not remotely the same.

Too many pop up advertisements!. I'm a print and online subscriber to the Cape Cod Times. I subscribe to several news media site for a mix of reporting. All of these sites are FREE. They all have pop up Advertisements to cover the cost of the free site. I understand the financial side of the equation. However, I pay dearly for the Cape Cod Times on line service. But there are so many pop ups, and advertisements clogging the pages, I usually get frustrated and go to another media site ( free too) I will most likely be cancelling this service soon. It's sad that we have to PAY to read more advertisements than news content. Bernie M Harwich

Easy to read format. It's the first thing I do every morning, go to my iPad and click on the Cape Cod Times app. Easy to read format, font is perfect size, glance through all the headlines and stories, then click on the articles I want to read in depth. Great way to get caught up with local, regional and national news over the previous 24 hours. Love it.

Settings. After turning sidewards to read comics, cannot get back to full page view.

RipOff. Solicitation offers access newspaper for a year, but you only get partial access. If it looks and smells like bait and switch probably is.

Terrible app. I have a subscription and the new app does not recognize it

Not updating. The obituary section is not updated. Has been the same for two plus weeks.

Where is the Support?. We pay good money for this app and get no support when it is not working properly. Get your sh#t together

Ridiculous. I paid for the subscription and I can only can read a few articles. I called and they told me that I have to delete and reload the app. Everyday I have to do it. I definitely will not renew my subscription. It is annoying!!!

I’m not supposed to have a limited amount of articles. I check to make sure I’m logged in. This is most infuriating app I have. I’m canceling everything about your services. Frustrating. The older app was better because as a subscriber I could at least see print layout and select articles to read. It kept signing me out, but had more articles available. This version has days old articles and only promotes a few articles. Very disappointed and frustrated. There are not many local news sources, the cape cod times gets more and more fromAP but access to either via this app is limited.

why are they still in business?!. THREE times since mid-June we tried subscribing and have yet to receive home delivery. my wife got a "free 2 week trial" she signed up for... 2 (issues) days later there was a hand written note on our paper advising "this is your last paper". How & why are you still in business?
