WFNX is back!! Wicked pissah!!. When radio was the only option, it was always WFNX that played anything remotely interesting. If B-sides were radio, it would be WFNX. Thank goodness deadair was short lived. Play on!! xxoo

Boston is Music!. Boston has a long, proud history of being a place where great music is made and great music is made popular. This station (and this APP) are evidence that Clear Channel can't stop this city from making history again and again!!!

Good stuff!. Loving Radio BDC... I am glad there is still a home for Julie and Adam and two of my favorite shows on the radio. However, the sound quality isn't as great as I expected. And the stream is very inconsistent and cuts out quite a bit even when I am on wifi. Quality/connection upgrade soon maybe?

Love it!. I loved WFNX & I'm so glad that it has survived in the form of Radio BDC. The app works great- never had any problems with it (except for one related to the quirky electrical wiring in my aged house: if I'm listening on the dock in my kitchen and use the microwave at the same time, the pause button gets mysteriously activated). Highly recommended!

Excellent. Boy, i felt right at home tuning in on the first day and hearing Julie back on the air! And I finally have Henry to get my day started with great tunes, and news with the power of BDC behind him... As for the app - they did a good job. The first release of this has a lot of features other radio apps have left off. "they got it right the first time" - Plays in the background!! - Can play the station via airplay - Current song and album art on the main page - share ling and store link - last 10 songs available. (hmmm should it go back further?) Free app with great music. You really can't go wrong.

Most awesomeness on a tiny package. I don't think life gets any better than listening to people who understand, live, love and exist because if the music they play. I am glad these people found a home and are together for many more years. Tune in, turn up and to totally turn ON!

Back and better than ever. Beyond ecstatic for this radio launch. The app has been running smoothly for me so far and obviously the music has been incredible. Can’t wait for what the future brings.

Former WFNX Lover. I am so happy this station has revived in the form if RadioBDC. Now we just have to wait for technology to catch up. Will someone hurry up and develop a car radio that connects with the Internet and holds a signal?! My car's speakers are far superior to iPhone's output! I do miss listening to loud music on my many hour in the car...

Best music but a little buggy. Still the best alternative station in the country, going back to the WFNX days.

Won't open. This app won't open on my iPhone 5s or on any of my friends. I am sad I haven't been able to listen to the amazing radiobdc for the past few months. Please fix this.

Finally. Ever since WFNX went off the air, I have been completely lost. There is no radio station that comes close to the legend of 101.7. Finally I have my FNX back. Cool that all the dj's came with it too. Thank you so much from this very happy listener.

Works with iOS 14.4, could use some interface tweaks. It’s still working! Interface is a little clunky but works well enough. 👍

Love this app. This app has saved me from what Boston radio has become. There is not a station out there that brings you what Radio BDC brings daily. Great music, new music and a human quality that is seriously missing today in Radio. Adam, Henry, Julie, Paul and all the rest that make it happen. Thank You!

App is weak. Music is amazing.. I love the music they play at RadioBDC. It's 10 times better than any regular radio station. I listen to the app frequently when I'm on the go like in the car or working around the house, I just wish it had better quality sound. I don't even really need any fancy features but at least make it sound good. For example, pandora has an option where you can listen to better quality music. chances are, if someone is going to go out of their way to listen to the RadioBDC app they're somebody who really appreciates music and they deserve better quality.

They're BAAAACK!. I missed these guys and am glad to be able to listen to the crew again. Some of the songs can be repetitive and the music sometimes cuts out. Other than that I like the few ads!

Great local source of alt and new music. App works well 98% of time. Between this and its BDC & WFNX predecessors I don’t know how my music preferences would have survived the past (Egad!) 25 years in Greater Boston !

FNX fan. This app is the best and most cutting edge music app there is. I’ve been a fan of the people who run this since the the early ‘90’s and still am a fan after all these years. In fact, I listens to the original station when it was WLYN in the early ‘80’s. Still the best.

New music. I’m an old WFNX person who followed this station to BDC. I was thrilled when indie617 came into being. There is nowhere else that I can get the new music that I hear on this streaming service. Well done!

Very Unreliable. When it works, I'm a happy camper - I get to listen to my favorite new music and get to continue the experience of listening to the old WFNX on the FM dial. You know - real people spinning cool tunes on the radio... HOWEVER, that happens hardly ever. The app is prone to dropping the stream, freezing, and outright crashing. I've tried deleting & reinstalling the app; no luck. I reached out to the developer; they essentially blew me off. Even the nice folks at RadioBDC (Hi, Adam12!) tried to help, but nothing fixes the issues. I was so excited when I first found out that RadioBDC was coming. Now I'm just frustrated and disappointed.

Best. Station. Ever.. My phone is streaming RadioBDC from the time I wake up till the time I go to sleep. I've deleted the Pandora app from my phone, as well as the app for that "other" Boston alternative "station". ;) The app is well made, love the last 10 songs and iTunes features. Great job all around!

No longer opens after last update. I updated the app the other night and it no longer will open on my phone. Sad as this is my favorite app to listen to around the house.

Actually works!. I have been depending on these folks and their associates for good new music since they were at WFNX. As RadioBDC, their streaming app broke when Apple started requiring TLS on app web connections. Now, with reorganization and rebranding to indie617, the app works great and the music stream is fresher and more varied again. Definitely worth downloading this phoenix risen from the ashes of print newspapers and broadcast radio.

Resurrection of WFNX. Imagine if WFNX never went off air - that’s Indie617 in a nutshell. Great selection of music unless you listen on back-to-back days. Then it gets repetitive. There’s a ton of indie music out there, new and old, and Indie617 has knowledgeable DJs. Makes you wonder why they’re anchored by songs on heavy rotation, dunnit?

Thank you. I was lost and infuriated when FNX went off the air. Thank you so much to the crew and everyone else who made it possible to still get my FNX! No radio stations (especially around here) can even come close to the quality an integrity you guys bring to the airwaves. Thanks. App always works too, never any probs.

Great content, mediocre app. Great music on this streaming internet radio station, but the app needs improvement. It crashes and hangs often, mostly when moving between an area with wifi coverage and 3G/4G/LTE usage. Also crashes/hangs when using certain bluetooth devices for audio (vehicle sound systems for instance). If you’re using it over wifi only with headphones you’ll probably be fine though. Another annoyance - tiny red or grey text on a black background - totally unreadable, what were you thinking?

Now opens. Old review below. Updated to iOS9, BDC plays fine now. .. Trying to listen. Click the app. It crashes instantly. I'm running iOS 7.1. Deleted / reloaded. Still crashes. Instantly. Every time.

Love the new format & familiar DJs. For the first time in years, I've been choosing to listen to the radio via this app rather than putting on my own mp3s, whether at work, at home, or about (& beyond) town. Excellent set-up, easy to buy songs I like, see what's been played, win tickets (!) - its the whole package.

Great app!. Great music, great dj's. So glad to have these former fnx dj's playing great music and introducing me to new material. The app however needs to be updated so that I can listen in the car. The stream is not reliable. I can stream pandora just fine, so I have to conclude it is the app and not my cellular provider. Still so happy that the globe is behind this, and the dj's and music make my day!

My favorite station brought back to life. I love this music and was devastated when FNX was no longer available in New Hampshire. Now that I can stream it with the app it's perfect. I even feel like there are less commercials.

Great personalities, app could be better. I love the local flavor, having real DJs on a streaming station, all of that. But the app itself could be better. I use it on my iPad and it's really nothing to look at, visually. The playlist only goes back 10 songs. The font is small for us elderly folk. With a couple of minor adjustments this could be great! Keep up the good work.

Love it but struggling to get consistent streaming. After listening to the FNX sign off last month and being depressed and switching to Sirius for a while; I have to say this station is great! I'm SO happy to have the FNX team back, backed up by the power of the Boston Globe. I just cannot get consistent streams that are not interrupted every couple of minutes. My SiriusXM app works perfectly, so I don't believe it is the service (AT&T). Station gets 5 stars but the app is getting only 3 because if the inconsistency. Also the music selection is traditional FNX with the DJs being able to chose their favorites. This is why I listen to radio. So someone can introduce me to new things. Not a computer suggesting things based on what I already own. These DJs have been introducing me to new music since I started listening to FNX in 1985!

Listen Everday!. App works better than any other radio app I've tried. I listen on the T, while I walk to/from work, and when I'm at home. Love the music and the integration with the Boston Globe staff. So much better than terrestrial radio here in Boston.

Alternative Boston. App always works, great mix of music, reminds me of the good old days of WFNX 101.7.

Great Indie station. Welcome Indie617. The next level of FNx and RadioBDC and a great station to listen to when I’m home!

WFNX lives on, sort of!. Many of your favorite dj's from WFNX somehow kept the dream alive and online. The app itself is functional and not much else, but having Julie Kramer and Adam 12 in my pocket wherever I go is the best thing ever. They now play a better mix of the music that made the station great- well done! Help spread the word, great music for anyone into alternative and indie rock- it's not just for Boston!

WFNX in your pocket. I remember the night WFNX played its last song and at 8:00 pm it went silent. This puts it back and better yet it goes wherever you go -

If you miss FNX.... I was a huge FNX fan and this app brings the best the station had to offer. Never have a problem running it.

Best classic Rock in Boston that you can take with you. These guys are the Boston Music scene! Taking the radio to the internet is no easy task and this crew is crushing it! It’s nice to know wherever you go you’ll always have your music with you!!!

Best music in Boston. This is where I find all my new music! The playlist are awesome and the events are even better! Can’t wait for the live shows post-COVID!

Love that this exists.. Love the content, and I believe the app will catch up with an update. It occasionally freezes, but that said, the ability to broadcast it over multiple home sources is a major plus as is the song/artist/album id. Makes me quite happy.

Love the content. App could use some help. Moreso, when app is closed out, audio still plays over Bluetooth in car, even over other music, which is a bit annoying. Love the music this station plays, would love to not have to delete app to make it stop playing over other audio

Best radio and radio app :). I have a good handful if music apps but Radio BDC is by far my favorite! I love listening to the DJs telling me what's new, what's happening in the music scene, and introducing me to local music too. The other apps don't really do that (human still beats robot!). It's also great to have the list of 10 most recently played songs. Can't miss a beat that way! On the technical side, I've never had any problems except I can't figure out how to wake up with Henry Santoro with the alarm clock feature! Overall great app and great radio.

Tradition of great Boston alternative radio continues!. If, like me, the foundation of your musical tastes was formed in the 80s & 90s by the late, great Boston radio stations of WBCN & WFNX, the this is the app you’ve been looking for! Overall, lots of great music at all times. However, “Kick out the Jams,” weekdays at noon, has a special place in my 50-something year old heart; God bless you for what you do, Julie Kramer!

Radio BDC. Love Love Love Radio BDC. Excellent job on this radio stations behalf for picking up the most talented DJ's on Boston radio. Radio BDC has instantly become my favorite station. I am more apt to listen to this station on my iPhone than turn on the radio in my car. I can't say enough good things about this Radio BDC and have told all of my friends to tune in. Thanks for coming to my rescue when I thought all was lost!

Best streaming station around. Great mix of modern and classic alternative, and the DJs are the best. WFNX lives on.

WFNX Lives. The Globe did a smart thing and signed the best of WFNX's on air talent. This station app is a good substitute for SiriusXM AltNation. Too bad that there is no over the air substitute...yet. Maybe someday the Globe will be able to buy a transmitter site and simulcast Radio BDC so we can get some new music on our radios in Boston.

I miss WFNX. Glad to have this iteration of WFNX to stream. Great app and love the music.

WFNX lives again!. I was saddened to hear the demise of WFNX, my home for progressive/alt music since high school. With this app, it's back again, and better than ever!

Buggy App Great radio. App cuts out every few minutes and can't find the server at least once an hour though my WiFi is fine. Love hearing the DJs from that defunct station again.

Great music (again!). Glad to have my fave DJs back! I missed Julie!! Love the music but the sound is a bit thin and fades in and out sometimes. Hopefully that gets fixed. this may finally forced into a bigger data plan do I can listen on the car!

Great music, needs more bandwidth. Love the music, love the personalities (formerly referred to as DJ's). My only concern is that it seems like when too many people are listening, the stream gets pretty choppy. Oh, and I never listened to 'FNX to hear edited music. Listening to bleeped stuff online really bothers me. Seems like it would sorta fit right in with the theme of the station to play songs fully uncensored. Or is this the parent company having their say? Independent radio, what? But I really enjoy the music. So please, keep up the good work y'all!

Prayers have been answered!. I was distraught with FNX going off the air as I knew it. I have listed to Julie, Adam and Paul for years. Not sure how the app works but I'm psyched to be able to listen to the crew again.

Needs better connection. I love the music & hearing my favorite DJs but I have to keep pressing play to continue listening after 1 or 2 songs. I'd love to give 5 stars because I'm really happy this Internet radio option exists, but it could stand to improve.

Great. Very good music, not too many breaks, app works perfectly except for the alarm feature which only works if the phone is on (not asleep) and the app is open (not running in background).

Great app. The app is great, but it really needs stream quality options. When using it at home the sound quality is really poor. Any chance for a higher quality stream?

Great app, needs a disconnect pause. Love listening wherever I go, app would be perfect it it stopped playing when headphones are unplugged or connection to car stereo is ended - instead the music continues through the phone speakers.

Content is great, App is not. Again, great to have FNX back in spirit. The app is bad though. Non-standard controls for audio mean no integration with devices/cars to pause or disconnect. Not updated for larger screens on iPhone 5-whatever. Couple of tweaks would make this as good as the station.

FNX has been unleashed!!!. Finally, I don't have to be near Rt. 128 to hear great music and DJ's who know what they are talking about! Now it's everywhere my iPhone goes!

Awesome. Can stream from my phone to my home stereo while I work and it mutes when I get calls. Perfect system for working at home. And I can spend the day listening to great music with my favorite FNX DJs. Win. Glad you guys are back.

Great start!. I love that you guys have created something AWESOME from nothing. Highly recommend this radio station. I use it all the time. I only have two suggestions for RadioBDC: 1) Make it so the feed automatically starts when I launch the app. If I've launched it, I want to listen - I don't want to have to hit play! 2) All other audio apps stop the audio if I take the headphones out or unplug from my car's AUX port. Yours keeps playing. Please follow best practice here!

4 out 5. This app would be 5 out of 5, if the sound quality did not sound so tinny. Needs to sound more like cd quality! Other then that, station and DJ's sound great!!

Stops playing. I was wicked excited for the old FNX gang to have a new platform to play music, but unfortunately, I constantly lose the signal and the music just stops and I have to restart and buffer it. This happens frequently and has occurred since I first downloaded app. In contrast, Tunein radio hardly crashes, so I just listen to Tunein. Fix BDC from crashing and I'm sure I would live it, but I don't have the patience to reboot all the time.

Love it but needs better streaming. Awesome but hope the streaming becomes better as they work on this new direction for Boston ...still excited about it !!

Best station is back!!. Excellent radio station! So sad to see FNX go but thrilled to have the crew and programming back. Just need to bring Neal Roberts back to work with Henry! (Best dynamic to hit the radio waves ever)

Great Music. The music is great and the app is very simple to use. I very rarely have issues with streaming. This is the only "radio station" I listen to and I'm so glad I discovered it.

The best!. All the personalities of my old favorite station, now from anywhere, anytime!

Sensational Music!. This station plays an unbelievable mix of alternative music without commercials. It's an online station but they have DJs too. Highly recommended.

Love it!. So glad to hear Boston's best from afar. The only problem is that it cuts in and out when I approach areas where there are private, Internet hotspots. Hope that gets fixed soon.

Music is great!. Radio bdc plays the best mix of alt music around. The one problem I have been having with the app itself is that it will cut in and out at times. All in all it's a great app!

Great content but steaming is bad. Love the content when the app works. It often freezes or just does nothing when you hit play. I hope for an update.

Good start. As a first iteration, this is a good app. It should make better use of the screen on larger devices. That the folks at radiobdc have created a whole new media platform in just a few weeks is stunning and fantastic.

Rock on!. Picking right up where FNX left off. The interweb to the rescue! Now, if I can just figure out how to listen in the car...

Works like a charm!. The AirPlay integration was a nice bonus ... That especially made my day. Otherwise, the app generally hums along like a top.

Great App!. I use a bunch of different radio apps, and this my favorite by far. Easy to use, works consistently, and GREAT music.

Great app - insanely great music!. The app gets you the best alt rock streamed directly to your phone, courtesy of the DJ's who've been instrumental in bringing awesome music to the airwaves for yrs. LOVE that it gives you song history & that the song title is visible even on a lock screen. LOVE LOVE LOVE this app & RadioBDC! :-)

Song title and artist on my car radio.. Other apps would not transmit the song title and artist to my car radio. This one does which is huge. A+

Simple and great. It works consistently, it's super simple, not too many ads, and I love that they always show the song info.

Everything you want, nothing you don't.. Good solid app. I haven't experienced any issues in 2 weeks. The built in Airport comparability is great. The content is fantastic. Great to have some new music in my ears.

Love it!!!. Love this app! It's got all my favorite DJ's and the best mix of alternative. I had started to only listen to my iPod, but then found this app. Great for hearing new music, and all my favorites. :)

Feels like home. So glad to have my music back, but I miss not hearing it in my car - I commute about 3 hrs a day.
