We are so blessed to have this available. It is truly a privilege to be able to obtain this complete commentary on a handheld device instead of having to buy a set of huge books. I love the great depth of insight Matthew Henry brings to us in his magnificent work. It deepens my understanding of the Bible which is written in a straight forward, yet poetic and charming way. Love it.

Wow!. I love it when an app includes more than just a Bible on it. Places to take notes and other features help with doing study in private or public without having to take cumbersome notebooks and other books out in public. It makes it so easy and enjoyable to engage in study and keeps you from having to struggle to keep up with where you put your information.

Quick. Not only quick but is my preferred version. Easy to search with minimal clues. Love having Greek and Hebrew nearby. It’s the one I use in church and when the Pastor states He’s giving us time to find our places he isn’t talking to me!

Thank you. This is amazing, I just started my pastoral study, and I bought the hard copy to this book. It is so heavy and I would like to study whenever I get the chance at work, but I couldn't. Now that I found the soft copy am in total joy.

Very helpful. I love reading my bible with a commentary. This is a great option as I can easily take it with me instead of my bible AND my large commentary. Also, the option to switch back and forth between the Bible and the commentary is a great feature. The only thing I would change is to have an option to switch between Bible versions.

An excellent resource. The Matthew Henry commentary is a tool every student of scripture should have in their arsenal. The app makes it accessible for almost everyone. I do frequently find that there are small errors in the structure of the text such as one might find when converting scanned PDF text with OCR. Otherwise, it’s fabulous.

The Lighthouse. Excellent Bible App! I daresay it’s the best electronic Bible in cyber space. The various versions, the offline capabilities and the myriad of Reading Plans (addressing EVERY situation; from 3-365 days), are phenomenal! The augmentation of the “Verse of the day” - having various Pastors and Bible Teachers deposit spiritual nuggets into the soul and minds of the listeners - is exceptional! Insightful commentary. This is the most insightful commentary I’ve read so far. Wise man. I love the fact I can do this through an app so I can take it everywhere. The fact you can see the verse and verses where it is related in other places is so great.

Review of Matthew Henry Commentary App. This is the best app for this commentary that i have found. It is very easy to use. I can locate what I’m looking for quickly without difficulty. I have the 6 volume paper books of this commentary and have used it very much over the last 10 years. I tried another app but it was difficult to get to what I wanted to study, so i went back to my book version. Then i saw this app and tried again. I have it on my ipad and enjoy using it very much.

Matthew Henry Commentaries. The Bible is God’s inerrant and final Word to man. Matthew Henry does a superb job of helping said man to understand that inerrant and final Word. All that is required is that the reader pray earnestly for the Holy Spirit to guide him through the subject of his reading to get the most from the commentary. As with God’s Word, Matthew Henry has NOT led me astray. Matthew Henry’s commentaries are indeed Spirit-led. Dennis Lary

The Word Online. Having the Word online is so helpful to me. If I am suffering with depression which grips me from my past life, I can easily pick up my iPhone and press the Word icon. There are times when I need instant help and having the convenience of the Word at my fingertips day or night helps me as the Word is powerful and healing.

A Thoughtful Review. It is wonderful that this commentary is available on suitable cellular phone. There are moments when I may not have the MHC with me because it is a hard copy. It is good to have that added resource when reading and studying the Word of GOD.

Love this app.. While I have the Matthew Henry commentary on several Bible apps across different platforms, I love to be able to just open this and read straight from his comments. Changing the size and shape of the fonts is easy and it is also easy to go from one section to the next. I also like the scripture polyps making it easy to see and then get back to the text.

Powerful Study Tool!. This commentary is a constant blessing to me in searching out to understand God’s Word and what He is saying to me. Matthew Henry has so much of his personal relationship with God that brings to life his life time of studying to know God through His written Word. I love it!

Indispensable Resource. Matthew Henry's Commentary was given to me as a gift over ten years ago and it has transformed my bible reading understanding and comprehension. I used to use my concise version at least once a week for verses I wanted more insight with and or to help me be more prepared to enrich our conversation in small group study. Having the app gives me the full set in my pocket. I have really enjoyed the updates to this app as it is continually improved. Phenomenal app and I would recommend to everyone.

Ads Free Option not an option. I really appreciate this content having been made available and have sent multiple emails to app creator to compliment his app... BUT there actually is no way on iOS to turn off the scrolling/dancing banner ads for slots, etc. When you are studying the Bible, it would seem reasonable that you could turn off commercials for one short hour a day. Please fix this.

Quality of voice lacks choice. There’s a problem with the robotic voice it skips in the beginning of chapters and repeats itself and then begins to function normally,A real person’s voice male or female would be a better option than a robot at least I’m able to speed up or slow down the speaking of the voice which is a good thing!

Mostly Easy to Navigate. I enjoy reading Matthew Henry’s thoughts and am grateful to have his words in the palm of my hand anywhere anytime through this app. It’s not a waste of time to flip to the passages I want to read, but I do wish I didn’t have to go all the way back to the Table of Contents to start a new path each time I want to follow up on something once I’ve already started reading

Extremely beneficial!. As a teacher in an adult Bible class, I have used the Matthew Henry Commentary app MANY times to understand and explain a portion of scripture. It is very insightful! The one down side I have with the app is that there doesn’t seem to be an easy way to go back to the other choices after submitting a search. I have to resubmit the search each time I want to explore all the possibilities. Not a big deal, but it could be made easier.

Old school!. One of the things I appreciate about this commentary is that it is OLD! New studies are watered down and influenced by the values of today’s world. I want a study that makes me think Deeper, and to see things from a different perspective. This commentary does that.

Only thing missing is night mode.. Everything about this app is great, you can switch between Bible and Commentary instantly and you can customize the font, text size and line spacing as well. The notes section is pretty handy as well. The only thing this app needs to be perfect is a night mode or dark theme.

So relevant. I enjoy this Matthew Henry commentary so much. I’ve read other versions that leave out punctuation and are very hard to follow. This one is easily navigable, understandable, and has important links to other scriptures embedded. And of course MH continues to astound me with his detailed knowledge and interweaving of Scripture, his understanding of human nature and God’s purpose, and his relevance even now, centuries after he lived.

Great insight. This commentary provides great biblical insight. My small critique would be I wish they would break down individual verses and provide commentary more often. I realize this might not always be possible because of context, however I do believe there are more occasions when this would be appropriate.

Valuable app!. I’m very thankful that someone went to the effort to make Matthew Henry’s commentary available as an iPhone app. His comments are theologically sound, comprehensive in their knowledge of Scripture, and invaluable for their application to the lives of believers. Sometimes his comments need to be compared to later commentators, as they were written before the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls,other manuscripts, and extra-biblical works that have provided scholars with a better understanding of the Hebrew and Greek used in the Scriptures. Even with that, there are few who equal him for his practical applications and his ability to convey profound statements in a brief and memorable sentence. The reader should be aware that the punctuation in this version sometimes is missing or incorrect and you need to re-read it with the correct punctuation in your mind.

Riddled with typos. This commentary is amazing. I am studying from it everyday and am learning a lot. The frustrating part is that this app is filled with typos everywhere. Punctuation is missing and words are misspelled or just plain wrong words. It is already a pretty advanced reading level compared to what you find normally today, but it is much harder to read when you have to figure out what is supposed to be there. That's my only complaint. Way too many typos.

Seeking Return. I personally did not like the ease, or should I say lack of ease of navigation of this app. I can think of several ways to make this smoother and more pleasant for the user, one being to be able to just tap the book at the top and immediately be able to select a different book instead of having to select the menus bar, then the table of contents, then the book! Unnecessary steps. Anyway, the only reason I have this two stars is because it did at least have a commentary, which was the main thing I was looking for. But for me, not worth it. Please tell me how to return for refund.

Bible Commentary app is great. I got this app to gain a better understanding of the Bible and to enrich my Bible study. This has been profound in gaining a more clear picture of what each verse says. I love the Bible verse references in blue that takes me to the verses in other books of the Bible that expands the one I’m reading. This app is a great resource.

Very good, one problem with the latest update.. Very good app. Only issue is, with the latest update, our use voiceover and I cannot switch between different portions of the commentary. There is some kind of button that it says unselected that I cannot select. Are used to be able to switch from different portions of the commentary but I cannot access them now.

Brilliant. As a Preacher, I am studying as much of the Word as possible. This is my 5th year as a Minister and though there are many commentaries out there to read, I have found that Matthew Henry is by far my favorite. The man was brilliant. Now, I believe that God blessed him with the knowledge obviously, but without him being a willing vessel, it would be very hard to do as this man has done. He wasn’t reading the 1611 KJV that I use. It was after his time, which makes it even more amazing. I love how the app populates each referenced verse in a window without going to a different page. Makes a huge difference. I encourage anyone and everyone to read Mr. Henry’s commentary. If nothing more than to see how God had showed him his interpretation. I don’t agree with everything single thing he has written, but I do see eye to eye with his view of the Bible than anyone else. God is great! 1 Peter 4:8. Charity (love) shall cover THE multitude of sins. Not A multitude, but THE multitude.

Bible software. justincuevas888. It might be that I do not know how to use you software. But hundreds of times, I tried to go To other, books in you software. I stay fixed on Job Chapter 1: I have over 8 Bibles, but when I go out and I’m looking for verses. It’s difficult. Perhaps you can give me some tips on the use of your software? Ads don’t interfere with study!. This is a great app! Many of my books are in storage until my house is built and I so miss having this commentary available to me! The ads scroll across the bottom of the screen and don’t pop up or interfere with reading. When you swipe to the next screen it looks as if the page is turning. Such a fun detail!

So helpful for…. Personal hermeneutical study, studying to teach a Bible study group, and ideal for pastors on the go who desire orthodox Jesus-centered observations for understanding the context and original meaning. Matthew Henry Bible Commentary. For many years the printed edition of the Matthew Henry Bible Commentary has been my principal Bible study tool. It has been decisive in my understanding of hundreds of passages, thanks to all the information it provides. Translation from original Hebrew or Greek is one of Bible translations most difficult tasks. The explanation of what it meant in the original language is of enormous help. Also, historic, social, political, background are very helpful. With the app it is way much easier to use anywhere at any time. I don’t have to carry the voluminous book around and research is much faster. It is a huge blessing.

Excellent commentary. I always enjoy this commentary. His focus is always living a holy life and having a closer walk with Jesus. My only issue with this app is there are many errors. Spelling errors and errors in the links to the chapters and verses. Needs a good proofreader and then do an update. I hope they will heed the advice.

My never failing help. This commentary is most helpful especially when I need some support right away. It also gives me Selah moments just at the right time. It’s a time saver when I need to do some research.

Why I like the the commentary. This has been helpful, I can go immediately to my iPad and pull up a verse or some place in the scriptures, and read what is says, to throw more light on a subject. Home bible class!. I love the "Mind Of Christ". To read the Bible is to eat the bread of life. I have always been a serious student of Gods word learning it at church where the pastor teaches from the original languages. This bible gives me that same type of guidance from home or on the go. One can really gain an extra sharpening of the sword by relaxing and worshipping God through the study of his word from this very special bible.

Great Commentary, App needs work. I love the commentary, it’s easy to understand and very helpful for studying the scriptures! The set up of the app itself could use some work, I wish it were easier to navigate between books and chapters.

Excellent!. I initially noticed this was a bit different from our 1986-page hard-cover version, and at first suspected it was abbreviated. Happily found this online copy is the unedited, entire original! It also has internal proof text references accessible by just a tap of the finger. I’m absolutely thrilled with this effort. Kudos to those who created it!

Scrolling adds. I have enjoyed this app immensely and I would have given it 5 stars , however, the scrolling adds are very distracting and to be frank, annoying... I have experienced being completely immersed in the commentary only to have a slot machine bar begin scrolling on the page... the button is deactivated that would allow me to turn the adds OFF... If not for this, this app is absolutely perfect!!!

Great bible app!!. I have been using this app for about 2 months. I had some questions after reading Scripture and went into the commentary to answer those questions. Good version, but…. In all honesty, I feel instead of this electronic type of Bible, perhaps I should be reading from the actual Bible itself, which I already own. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Outstanding app. This app provides good access to Mathew Henry. It has imbedded links to the KJV! The punctuation errors can be a little troublesome, but the table of contents is sweet and makes navigation fast. Very nice.

Return to previous page button. Unless I haven’t found it yet, in an attempt to do a little research, I was led to other verses, and I was unable to go back to my original verse without closing and opening the app.

Commentary Bible. First and foremost; It’s Awesome! A great biblical study tool. Operation is easy and the various options are just right for use and ease of understanding! I highly recommend this CBCommentary Bible app.

Information. If you want to know it’s here... for example.. Jesus made wine it was not Fermentation it was just grape juice however, the word juice was not created until 1400s so they name everything wine unless water, so Jesus was not drinking fermented wine just juice.

Very good app.. I love this app. Only one drawback for me is that I have tried many times to upgrade it so I can get rid of the ads but it never upgrades.

I get more out of my devotions. This commentary is easy to use but very informative helping you to truly understand what the passage was about. I get more out of my daily readings with this.

My “Go too” Bible commentary/dictionary. I study the Bible frequently (my passion), so it helps to use this “user friendly” tool to better understand the concepts. Thank you for this tool!

The voice. I loved everything about it except the voice.

MH Concordance. This is the only commentary I use when seeking a deeper understanding of the Bible. I’m constantly amazed at the depth of extrapolation from each verse. The cross reference of scriptures is also very helpful as I know that scripture interprets scripture.

So Useful. I've never had a copy of Matthew Henry's Commentary although I have heard many speakers who have sited it. I was pleased to be able to access it by iPad, and use it when I come across a passage which needs clarification.

Huge supplemental aide to my BIBLE Study. Very grateful to have this because it doesn’t add to or take away from the WORD. The exposition of Matthew Henry helps me see more clearly and also ties truths together. My only complaint is the audio is a computerized voice and is unpleasant to listen and concentrate.

Great but I pile like to see one feature added. This app is awesome is so many ways. Very convenient and just right. However I would like to see a feature that would allow you to bookmark one or two sentences instead of the whole section.

Handy app!. I found out if you turn off the cell data for this app in your iPad settings it kills the ads. Nice way to skip buying the upgrade.

Matthew Henry Commentary. This is the best commentary bible I have ever read it give you a great understanding it breaks it down where you can truly understand it and enjoy reading it keep up the great work.

Insightful and enlightening!. This commentary has allowed me a deeper understanding of God’s word. The commentary provides brings forth understanding and significance of the word that I had not been able to achieve. Definitely recommend!

Thank you. This is amazing, I just started my pastoral study, and I bought the hard copy to this book. It is so heavy and I would like to study whenever I get the chance at work, but I couldn't. Now that I found the soft copy am in total joy.

Commentary Review. I have really enjoyed using this Bible app with the enclosed commentary. It has been a useful tool in gaining more insight of the scriptures. I highly recommend it to anyone’s Biblical reference library.

Update the language. I’m learning a lot from this commentary. However my learning curve would be quicker if Matthew Henry’s words were updated to the modern english language.

Thorough and Convenient. Matthew Henry is my favorite commentary. And I love how this app hyperlinks all the related verses. This is awesome for reading on the subway or just when I’m not at home. I’d highly recommend this app.

Ad upgrade not working. I click to upgrade the app so not to have ads within, but it is not responding. I hope this will get fixed to upgrade to 5 stars. Content wise, it’s great.
