Amazing for development. I use this to develop and prototype apps. It has made learning great and after you make 10 apps it’s easier to make them faster. One of my favorite apps is expo go!

Two fingers to reload is gone?. Don’t have the option to reload with two fingers long press anymore!!

No longer works. Could not connect when under same WiFi

Worked right out of the box!. Discovered this through a course on Udemy for react-native development and I have to say that this app has allowed me to get straight into coding with very minimal effort. It just takes a little setup on your pc or laptop from the terminal and your good to go. It’s very helpful and interacts with the pc through local network. Any changes you make to the react native app will reflect directly onto mobile in real-time. It’s awesome for development. Thank you for making this!

Incredible Tool. I was pretty overwhelmed at the idea of getting started with building a mobile app. Expo takes care of all the tedious bits so you can focus on building features. Can’t recommend it enough!

Worked until this version. Where is add new project and scan button? In middle of project, it disappeared.

I wish I have never used it. It works before updates. It’s so frustrating how they issue the updates. They update SDK and update mobile app at the same time. New SDKs are full of bugs and don’t run for months. And old SDKs are not supported in updated mobile app. All the productivity is stuck for months. This happened 2nd time in 1 year. I would have my app published long ago, if not their silly update system.

4 stars but sdk compatibility is frustrating :(. I was running sdk 48 but now that doesn’t work because expo is on 50. Hasn’t been long since 48 was the most updated.

Good app in general. Super easy to use! But sometimes the downloading dialog at the bottom gets stuck, and it sometimes doesn’t let me quit the app without quitting the expo app if there was an error.

Does what it’s supposed to. Works very well. Very happy with Expos product

Bug with developer menu. I can no longer bring up the developer menu within the app as soon as I bring it up it closes instantly. I have tried restarting the app deleting it, updating my phone, and clearing all data from iCloud backups nothing has fixed it. The bug does not occur on my friends phone with the same version of the app and same iOS version and same phone model. It seems like data is persisting even after the app has been deleting and is causing this bug to persist on deletion. I cannot continue development due to this major bug please help.

Easy for developers, not so great for users. While it’s quite fantastic what Expo has managed to do for the developer community and RN, the majority of the apps I have come to use and test often feels cheapened and watered down. Sure, it’s nice to “get 2 for the price of 1”, but maybe instead of being so focused on making the lives of developers easier, it also makes sense to consider the quality of apps that are being released into the ecosystem. It is regular people, after all, and not just developers that use apps.

I have enjoyed it so far. While I am new to using Expo, so far my experience has be delightful. With open sourced dev tools I often run into at least one issue getting it set up and working. Not with this. Developers keep up that good work!

Developer Magic. This app has made react native development a breeze. This is some serious developer magic, 10/10 would recommend for beginners and experts who are developing in react native.

My SDK isn’t supported after 6 months. I’m so sick of having to update expo. I’m having an emergency bug at work and can’t test on my physical device because expo decided to push an update that stops supporting expo 46. Be prepared to have to deal with updating dependencies every couple weeks.

Simply Amazing!!. I’m a developer new to React Native and Expo’s application and service is amazing! Love the ease of setup and building apps is a lot faster and fun.

Best App For Team Dev. Stable, and fast development. I personally don’t like how they are gating crucial functionality such as builds and notifications, but hey the team needs to get paid.

Good app. Fast loading

App stuck at startup. Am having problems since the latest update, it seems the app gets stuck when i try to open

Latest update takes away feature. Latest update of March 29 has taken a core feat of the app: you can't open shared projects. You can only have your own projects. This makes it useless if you are testing with multiple project as a guest (not signed in).

Best Development Platform. Expo has consistently been improving the mobile development experience, and I don't just mean the React Native experience, I mean mobile in general. Expo has come a long was since I started using it in 2017 and there is no simpler way, none, to built mobile apps in 2024.

It drastically simplifies the development process by allowing me to instantly preview updates on real devices, thanks to its live reload feature. With access to a wide range of APIs and components, I can rapidly prototype and test new ideas without the hassle of traditional build and deployment processes. Although it may not fit every project, especially those requiring custom native modules, for most of my work, the efficiency and ease of use are unmatched. Expo Go has significantly boosted my productivity and made development a smoother, more enjoyable experience.

Cool. I appreciate what they’re trying to do here. Mobile development is hard. But yeah there’s still a lot of frustrating things to deal with and it works like 75% of the time.

Easy to start. I just began learning react and expo has made development fairly easy.

Safe Area Support. Please add safe area layout support so the tab bar isn’t clipped by the home indicator, and the navigation bar isn’t clipped by the sensor housing

Slight bug. There is a slight bug on pressing on Development Server, It shows the project that u have served, but pressing it won’t launch it, feels like the press is not responding

SDK compatibility. Most examples I can't run because they use older SDK. Please allow to run apps with older SDKs! You can still show a warning to upgrade!

This is a great app. 100% recommended for react native development. I'm using it for my current and future projects.

Expo abandoned?. Last update broken app completely. And after a week it is not fixed. Can't open any project: "there was a problem loading project" it says.

Simply the best. Easy to use, quick to load, quick to refresh, the handiest tool for developing apps.

Keeps everything organised. This has helped me keep all my house inspection notes organised! Really useful to keep photos/note/checklists in one place attached to the actual property.

QR Scanner had to go. The developers should have made a better effort letting people know, but it has to be removed due to Apple’s Terms on the App Store. The app is fantastic although frustrating that you can scan QR any more.

The update removed scan qr code makes it barely work. It is useless if it can't scan qr code or enter adress manully… the recently opened project is not working at all. which pm come out this idea?! Please fire him 🤦🏻‍♀️

iOS app no longer allows you to add a new project. Must be a recent update. But the add project functionality is gone so I can no longer do local dev with my device.

Confusing to figure out how to add project. Similar problem to others I can’t figure out how to add a project to this. Edit: I figured out that it works using “exp start” and sending the link to the iPhone via “exp send” but it’s still strange to me that you can’t use the + button or QR code. Really cool app to test with though since it auto hot reloads!

Doesn’t work. Doesn’t work at all. Gives 404 NoSuchKey when I click “get started”.

Permanently signed out. When I try to sign out, it glitches and there isn't a log in page. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall but it doesn't work

Sign in doesn’t work on iPad. Sign in fields for email and password are disabled on iPad

Useless now. You can scan or add address, you can’t open someone else’s project, only if you run locally. This app is a joke now

New update forces users to publish apps use functionality. You have to publish your apps to edit them, url/QR options are gone for concurrent editing.
