Can’t view wiki content. Overall, the app is just okay. I ended up having to uninstall it because somethings don’t work as expected. For example, if a repo is using the Wiki functionality, it’s not viewable in the app. Thus, if you click on a link to wiki content, it just brings you back to the main repo page in the app instead of the actual wiki content. The only resolution was to uninstall the app so I can view the content in Safari. At this point, it only gets 3 stars.

Can’t switch account. I have one for personal (which is a pro account) and one for work. My employer does not want me using a personal account and I completely agree. Both are GitHub accounts so I cannot be logged into both at once. Would be much better if I could since I’m doing one thing during the day and another at night.

Great. That I believe would make it somewhat easier for the ones that do this app on their phones like I do and i know for myself speaking it has made my life so much easier when I have this app on and I can now take care of other things at the same time as well Know with the app changes now

Commit widget is horribly ugly. Commit history widget is horribly ugly. Instead of displaying a static (slightly outdated) collection of commit history, it shows a network error. If you live in any city and take the subway, expect the widget to be frequently broken and just look horrible on your homescreen. I expected more from an app made by supposedly leading developers

Just what I needed to keep up with GitHub activity. I use GitHub personally and professionally and I often missed activity (issues etc) when I was relying on email notifications. Since I added the GitHub app to my phone it’s been much easier to stay on top of the GitHub activity and keep projects moving along efficiently!

Bugs galore. I generally use the website instead of this app because the functionality is pretty limited, and too often there’s something I want to do that the app simply does not support or supports poorly because of bugs. For example if you want to search issues from a particular author it only lets you filter on collaborators. Or if you’re reviewing a commit and select “Jump to file” it opens a page that shows the file name and nothing else. Stupid bugs that are very obvious.

The possibilities are endless. I am a novice developer and a recent CS college grad. This feels like such a natural transition for GitHub as a whole. I don’t know if anything will ever beat the desktop/laptop experience, but using this on my iPhone X has been a pleasant experience. The app does not advertise or make any false promises. It does exactly what it says it wants to do (it would be pretty horrendous if it didn’t given the developer). Being able to keep up with notifications is what mobile is all about. I can only imagine how much better this is on an iPad, especially an iPad Pro.

has potential but too many dealbreakers. I truly want to like this app but the bugs that have been around since I first used it are driving me crazy. Every time I add a new favorite it’ll disappear from my list a few minutes later, sometimes right before my eyes it’ll remove itself from my list. On top of that, the search functionality is atrocious, and way too limited. We can’t even search our own repos! The search functionality we do have for the rest of the site leaves a lot to be desired and doesn’t even return the same results as the website. We should be able to search our starred repos, our own repos as well as choose how our own repos are filtered, this is bottom of the barrell functionality that should be a no brainer. If its possible on the website, it should be possible in the application. Im honestly shocked at how little functionality this app offers as the official github client. lastly, iOS 14 required now? you cant be serious. time to write a good github client on my own I guess, supporting iOS 13 isnt difficult and theres absolutely nothing earth shattering offered in the 14 SDK that github needs to function. id be embarassed if i wrote an app this shoddy for such a high profile company.

Inferior to web. GitHub web has made an incredibly amount of improvements since being acquired by Microsoft, such as the AMAZING and innovative web editor they launched a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the iOS team has not kept pace. That being said, the web experience is good for reading through Issues, reviewing some PR’s, but ultimately the web experience is better in many ways on my iPad (especially with the web editor). On a phone, can’t beat it - 5 stars (by default) but 3 stars on iPad. So I will round it out to 4 stars, but quite disappointed in the iPad app.

Nice app, easy to use. I love being able to keep up with all my issues through my phone. The user interface is clean and it’s easy to search for repositories. However, there is a feature I would like implemented. I would like the ability to view releases in the app. It’s annoying when I go to a notification for a release and tap on it, only for it to send me to the website. And, if I click a link to the releases of a repository in my web browser, it opens the repository in the app but doesn’t show me the releases. Overall, great app, and if that one feature was added, I would be glad to give this review five stars.

The new update is fantastic!. Most of what I wanted, but was missing, has been added! Ability to view commits and change branches were my most required items and they are now here! Thank you so much! The only thing I personally would love to see in this app is the ability to edit files / commit. At that point, I could delete all my other GitHub client apps and never need anything else again. I’m going to go ahead and 5 star this for all the excellent work! Thank you!

Can’t Sign-In. Update: This seems to be more of an issue with Safari. I tried so many things to get this working I’m not sure why it finally worked, but the last thing I did was completely close ALL apps (including Settings), disable Safari cookies, close Settings, reopen Settings and enable cookies. I had tried so many versions of this and more trying to sign in it’s anyone’s guess as to why it worked this time. “Cookies must be enabled to use GitHub.” Safari cookies are enabled and I can’t sign in, just keep hitting the cookies message. Logging in directly with Safari works. There are several other reviews stating the same.

Explore page doesn’t load. I’ve been using GitHub for a while now and I loved it! But recently when I click on the explore page it doesn’t load and gives an error, unfortunately this issue wasn’t solved with the latest update which was released today.

Super helpful, but where are actions?. The GitHub app is super handy for a lot of quick look things (seeing PR or issue updates, checking out a README, etc.), but one of the most important things that I might want to check on is notably missing. Where are CI/CD statuses? Workflow logs? The UI on desktop seems mobile-friendly enough, just give us a webview, just something.

Great App. GitHub is a great app because it lets you work with the more social media type of features. It needs to be updated a lot more so that it becomes at the same level as the online version, but the social media features definitely keep it afloat.

Oh, sick.. Although I always found GitHub’s webapp to work just fine on mobile, it’s definitely nice to have a native option. So far the app seems to work smoothly. My only complaint is the UI—aping the iOS HUI guidelines has done a disservice to the fantastic design of the web platform. But other than that, this is definitely GitHub. And GitHub is definitely great. So 4 stars for u!

I would like to say this would have been a great idea. I would like to know how I can correct the illegal actions that others have done to me and my family members. I have Been working for over a year now. Since I am not a coder or programmer it has been very challenging, to Say the least. The people who have been doing this to my family members do not and have not had the best interests to use your platform in a way that is for the greater good of humanity. I would appreciate if u could assist me with my account information, correcting every account that is not correct. Over a year of work is long enough, I know the details I would appreciate for you to send out a few updates to help me out ASAP thanks for the information

Needs multi-account support. Excellent app for what it has so far! However, the biggest missing feature is support for having multiple accounts signed in at the same time, and being to get notifications from each of them and swapping between them on the fly. It would also be awesome if it supported multiple windows in iPadOS. Being able to reference other parts of a repo in a separate window or split whole reviewing a PR without needing to fallback to Safari would be so nice!

Can’t switch account. The app seems pretty nice thus far but I wrongfully logged into another account and now it seems that there is no way to change it. When I sign out and sign back in, I’m only prompted to give permission for the initial account (also, why is asking for authorization every sign in?). Doubt that this is how is intended probably a bug? Would reconsider review once I can properly use it with my account. Update: As expected the switch account was unintentional and now is back to normal. So far I had no problems and I love having a proper app layout rather than the mobile version (that wasn’t bad at all btw). You could argue that now you have yet another app to keep checking for notifications but hey.. it is what it is.

Non-technical founder. I’m a non-technical founder who was thrusted into a product management role unexpectedly. I was more than pleasantly surprised, I was blown away at the amazing user interface and the ease of use, especially for someone like me who is not familiar with this technology, I also really love the mobile app as I was able to test and put issues in on the go, very impressive, I appreciate what you guys have done.

Feedback.. The Mobile App is less straightforward than the Desktop Web Platform - which is not quite as straightforward as it presents itself to be. From the outside vantage point, it would seem as if ‘Development’ is a nearly ubiquitous new inter-national past time. Thus, though Github has the conceptual mass appeal of a less censorial Instagram or Facebook— it can prove off-puttingly daunting to the uninitiated. One must have not only a vision, and a mania about that vision, but one must have been host to that manic vision long enough that they learn to think of it in new maths and new languages- and write dissertations about it.

No Following? Only News?. I am not seeing the notifications I would for repositories I follow? I use custom since I don’t want everything all at once, though I also don’t want all of this in my email. Can there be a context header? This is confusing; Is the app designed to allow me to work or permit me controlled access to GitHub? For the second there should be more features, but for the first of the two there would need to be a feed context that changes what displays, same as a workspace.

Like a web browser but worse. Multiple tabs, bookmarking, sharing links, Handoff between devices, a history of everything you’ve looked at… these all features you get for free by using GitHub in a web browser, but things you aren’t allowed to do in this app. Even worse, the app eats all GitHub links so you can’t even view a GitHub page in a browser if you want to. I would rather have the web version of GitHub be more responsive and full featured at any screen size than have limiting platform-specific apps. This isn’t 2009 when the iPhone first came out, you can’t get away with having a limited “mobile” version of your website and a basic app with a limited subset of functionality anymore.

Finally, an app. It’s great to finally have an app. Stellar! Supports dark mode and seems to support Dynamic Type size everywhere! Amazing. Hope you bring this app to Mac. 🙂 P.S. The latest feature-spotlight text even says “tap here”, not “click”. Always feels like I’m in a losing battle saying “tap”. Glad to see someone else keeping it alive.

Useful but juggling a lot of info. This is definitely useful, but I would not use the mobile app to do PR reviews regularly. Too easy to miss critical context or information on the small screen. Also too much is presented at once. This app could be improved by better managing the intention of the person using it. Deliberately switching modes of inquiry and having the UI adjust is probably better than being able to do anything at anytime. MS Word does this with their toolbars and that’s okey for a word processor. It is burdensome in a mobile app where thoughtful review and clear communication is the end goal.

Great app, version 1.1.0 is great!. I would like to be able to view prior commits, and what has changed in repositories, especially if I don't have write access, so that I can view what has happened. If this were added, I would increase this to 5 stars. Edit: 1.1.0 resolved this!

No forking way. So frustrated. Can’t get to my computer, just want to fork a repo. Why can’t this be done from either the app or from the website on mobile? Can’t even seem to get the Desktop site from a mobile browser when you request it anymore. Going to need to manually fork from an ssh app just to accomplish this, which I think also doesn’t get you the normal additional GitHub fork features. I don’t really understand what the point of the app is if it doesn’t give you fundamental features of GitHub.

They fixed the commenting keyboard bug on iPad!. The bug was promptly fixed. Thanks for tracking these reviews likes hawk, y’all are doing great with the app and it runs way faster than the webapp! Updated from 2 to 5 stars. Old review: When I start to type using the on-screen keyboard in a comment, if I type quickly, the panel dismisses and I have to reopen it to type. This is the most aggravating bug in the history of bugs. I will happily change my rating once this is fixed.

Like the app, but hate the safari redirect. I would like to use this app, but the automatic Safari redirect makes this too painful to use. Either the redirect needs to go away or the GitHub app needs to fully support everything the desktop version of the website supports.

Great app! Simple and clean. I love how quickly the app loads and how easy it is to look at issues, PRs, etc. It’s also a very lightweight app in terms of memory. It doesn’t try to do anything that would be too complicated on mobile either which is nice. One constructive criticism: I don’t know if I just missed this feature, but I would LOVE to get push notifications about updates to repos I’m watching. I haven’t been able to find this feature anywhere on GitHub, and it’s definitely a must for this app.

Nicely done. Really feels like the website, but better. Super smooth and intuitive UI and navigation, and the features and improvements just keep coming. I have it set as the default app for all GitHub links on my phone, and there’s no going back!

Pretty solid app. Overall it’s a pretty solid app. I really like how snappy it is, and the apps design scheme. I wish there was a way to see the commit history. When looking at source files, I wish there was a way to turn off text reflow, along with simple text editing (for small corrections). I also wish I could see the commit tree. Great app!

Works great. AND improvements keep coming. GitHub for iOS works great for me to view my repos, manage issues, manage pull requests & merges. I’ve been using git for a long time, and this app since it was released. For about 2 weeks I had an issue being able to view some of my repos. The GitHub team came through with ~3 releases with improvements and new features during that period, AND fixed the issue viewing some repos. Fantastic!

Feature Request:all activities like web. when i open github in browser, i can see all activities of my following, but github mobile cant. i hope i can see it when i open github mobile just like opening browser.

Missing a lot compared to mobile site. I wish mobile site was equivalent to the app. I end up switching to mobile site every now and then because either the UX is so different or just doesn’t have a feature. The app feels like a nice to have than GitHub really thinking out it’s mobile strategy with desktop/mobile site/ and mobile app functionality. Feels like to independent teams worked on this.

Awesome app, but needs some extra functionality. I love the app right now but I’m missing some functionality that would take it to the next level: 1. Multi user support. I often times have two or more github accounts and need to be able to sign in with two different users 2. External github server support. In order for this app to really work for a lot of us, we need to be able to sign into our companies hosted github instances. Without this, I can only work on the open source stuff or on things on my personal github account since the github instance I use for work cant be accessed using the app. I want to give you the 5 stars and when those two things happen, I will come back and change the review. Keep up the good work!

The PWA is still better. The app doesn’t show activity of the users I follow like the PWA does. This app seems to favor the personal development experience over the user discovery experience, which I don’t fully understand (if I want to keep close track of a repo that’s having changes made to it frequently, I’d much rather do that on my computer than my phone). I’ll update my review as soon as the user activity feed is added, like it is on the main site Dashboard, but at this point it just feels like a MVP.

Great for mobile checkin’s. One feature I wished the app had is the ability to edit a repos wiki. I often want to write down ideas and I have to create an issue and then move it later. Also, add labels to issues and assignees would be great. Otherwise it has all the features I use.

Looking for Mr. Good App. Well GitHub promises to be better than most. I had to clean up my emails so today I just deleted them all from my past go to account ...all 967 thousand of them. Many were from an app called Google plus...oh 5 or 6 years ago. We loved that app...we were young , restless. On Google plus us wanna be acclaimed scientists would theorize on the basis of gravity , the universality of relativity and what not. Instead today I mostly anticipate the final burn, seeking some satisfaction along the way. I’ve been immersed into this world of hackers , cyber crimes , network insecurity , constant uncertainty and you know what.... I’m starting to enjoy it. My antagonists know one hellava lot about networks and I’m determined to..... oh I really don’t know what I’m determined to do but I kinda enjoy sparring with these unseen contestants. We will see ... I’m now determined to share what I’ve learned and I thing GitHub is where I’ll do it. I just am completely lost in finding a way to start ... But I will ....SOON

Love It! Except….. The app is so glitchy. There are, of course, certain things that you can’t do or access on the app, but that’s to be expected, it’s not supposed to act as a literal fully functional desktop app (that being said, being able to see insights would be a very useful feature). But. OMG. The bugs. The app will suddenly quit constantly for the simplest things like viewing a repo or seeing an organization, it’s become such a pain that I barely open the app nowadays because I know it’ll take so long with all the quitting that it’ll be faster to just open up my computer and see what I’m looking for. Overall, the app has a lot of potential. Until these bugs get fixed, though, I wouldn’t recommend using it.

Among Us. Thank you for fixing the issue that was in the way of Unity Games paying me my unpaid amount for designing Among Us. Oxford House Publishing LLC needs to get the funds, we cannot make it more than the 3 years that we used the funds that we had and I CEO remained on social security disability and would like to get off and pay my way but I won’t do it until I get all unpaid money from 2018, 2019,2020,2021,2022, Oxford House Publishing LLC Pete Van, Jr.

They actually use version history!. They actually use the version history instead of just putting nonsense or marketing info!! Plus the updates they do do, have a purpose! It’s not as robust as a browser, or even cmd, but it works great and honest has only gotten better over the years.

Amazing App. I very rarely leave reviews for apps, but this one deserves it. I am a mobile app engineer, and I can say without a doubt this is the most pleasant app I have had the pleasure of using. The designers deserve an award for the amount of features they were able to pack into an intuitive experience.

Cannot see all files changed. The app works great for the most part! Although currently I am trying to view a particular file in a PR with 30 files that have been changed, but I cannot view anything beyond the first 20 that are listed. Scrolling to the bottom does not load more files and I cannot find a way to search for the file name of interest directly.

Some challenges, but useable. - request to load pull request frequently fail on the first try - submitting comment sometimes throws an error saying the operation failed but when I refresh the page the comment is actually there - the review modal closes seemingly by itself multiple times when I’m typing a review and I have to reopen it to finish writing the review I think the app is needed, especially with iPadOS and more people using magic keyboard. I hope there is continued investment in the app and these problems are addressed.

Request. Overall, this app is great. It allows for easy parsing of GitHub repos and creating issues. The only idea for the app is a search filter. Already, you can search public repositories, but you are unable to filter your results farther than repos vs profiles vs companies, such as being able to limit your results to just repositories that are made with JavaScript.

Friendly guidance. To be fair, I’m a newbie. I tend to feel lost in crypto and app, and while I’m psyched to be a part ofThings I usually feel quite ignorant. This app kind of is able to push me through step-by-step to get me where I need to be. And that’s not an easy task! So I love it I feel smarter every time I leave the app.

GitHub and Git. I have enjoyed every much being able to go to GitHub and get help with updates on my phone and the people who work there are kind and respectful i Apologize but I don’t enjoy my APIS at google but the service a quality is worth every thing I wish I would have known about them before I did my developer and beta certification program I would like them to know how grateful I am to have them and the help that they have given me and

Strictly worse than the mobile web app. This app works for the most common few features and clears the very minimum needed to be useable. It’s strictly worse than the mobile website, though. There’s no way to list the active (or stale) branches of a repo or to paste in a github URL to go to that view. Worse, since creating this poor mobile app, Guyhub has started nagging mobile web users to install and open it. It’s nearly enough to bail on GitHub all together for non-OSS usage.

Explore feed needs work. I really like what GitHub has done with their mobile app, and I’m happy that the explore feed has been implemented after my last review, but it needs a little bit of work. I am getting events in my feed related to organizations and repositories that I am ignoring, and users that I am not following. Either the algorithm that determines the contents of the feed needs to be changed or additional filter options need to be implemented.

Beginner Student Leaner. I just activated a new account and willing to learned in the nearby future and hopefully we’ll get through this soon

Can’t view more than one file. I tried this app because viewing source code in a browser no longer works on iPad. But the code browser in this app is terrible. It’s slow and clunky, and won’t let you view more than one file. So it’s not suitable for viewing code.

Would love Project integration. Otherwise a great app for social coding!

Great native UI. Heat to be able to check code on the go.

Wont give me discussions push notifications. Would love to love the mobile app but can’t for the life of me get notifications to Discussions.

love it... but. love the app but it doesnt let me add labels at all even tho i can on the browser version 😢

Excellent. So far an excellent app with features and improvements being added regularly. Would be great to see GitHub Actions and Insights also. Keep up the great work guys!

Works okay, some minor QoL issues. I wish that the PR filters could just be set to view all PRs for a given repo… I can’t seem to find a way to do that Also lack of visibility on GitHub Actions doesn’t make this a very powerful mobile dev ops tool; would be nice to at least see the status of actions Ability to actually look at PRs and approve/comment is good 😊

Cant sign in.. Never used the app. First time installing it. Straight after it installed I opened it and tried to sign in. I got a error message saying that I triggered an abuse mechanism. Your anti-abuse is too sensitive. In using 4G mobile data with no other devices connected, never used the app before now, and haven’t touched my phone in hours prior to installing the app, so I don’t know what I could have possibly done to trigger your anti-abuse systems. My device is an iPhone Xs Max. Location Chengdu. Network is 4G China Mobile.

Miss use platform. Some people in India miss use this platform easily so we need to #ban GitHub

Fantastic App. This App is helping me learn coding at a much faster rate than I was previously.

Slaps. Slaps slaps slaps Finally can view my code and create issues while on the go

Easy to use!. Such a nice app!

Cant sign in. cant sign in it keeps says you password or emails is incorrect

Easy to use!. Does what needs to be done :)

Great start. This is a great app as far as it goes but it has been stagnant for a while. Maybe the creators were shuffled off to other projects. For example there is no help with code diffs on tiny mobile screen: no jumping/filtering, no “ignore white space changes”.

Pretty bad app. Warning - if you install this app it will force you to use the app for MFA logins!

Can’t sign in :(. I can’t seem to sign in to GitHub. I kept saying that I did not have the correct email or password, although I kept try knowing I put in the right email/password but it just didn’t work!

Ghub. On the hub

Good job Git is the best. Thank you very much

Good but…. Good app but needs support for projects….

Finally GitHub on my Phone!. Very easy to use app, I love being able to add and reply to issues on my phone, its a great way to manage to do lists for my projects.

Unstable now. Used to have nothing bad to say about this app but recently it has been crashing while I am editing a file

Review PR’s anywhere!. The latest GitHub app has been great! I’m now able to review code while getting a coffee, while drinking a coffee, and while on the toilet after the coffee has kicked in!

This app is the best. I can’t believe this app it is the best coding app I have ever installed keep up the great work staff team

Add GitHub Action plz. Please add GitHub Action capabilities to this app as well

Verification code does not match every time. GitHub generates two digit code which I have enter in this app while signin as 2FA is always invalid

Integrate with Dev Spaces. On GitHub web, you just press the “.” key and the repository opens in VSCode in the browser. Ideally, this should be possible in this app as well. Otherwise, we have to navigate back to the web experience in Safari to use it.

Had to uninstall the app due to a bug in the website. For technical reasons I want to use my TOTP app for 2FA, not the Github app. So when logging into the website I selected the TOTP app 2FA method and checked “use this method in the future”. But over the next few days, the Github website kept defaulting to the Github app verification method, despite the fact that each and every time I was asking it to use TOTP in the future. The only way to make it stop was to uninstall the app. At the end of the day, the app is a nice to have, the website is something I need, so I had to sacrifice the app.

Great app, missing one core feature.. So far the app is great for conducting code review in the go. The only issue I have is there is no way to view commit history for a specific branch outside if the pull request UI. If this could be added in a future version that would easily make this app 5 stars.

Love it! Gayhub. Xd

Fantastic. Excellent for on-the-run code reviews. Really happy for the improvements in this latest release and line numbers are saving my life. If you use GitHub and need a quick access on your mobile; skip the mobile site and download this app.

Code Reviews from the couch!. Thanks for having an iPad app! I can now review code from the couch, which was a thing I didn’t know I missed from my life. Do add the ability to mark files as reviewed, like on web.

Poor multiple account support. I use a personal github account (of course). I have a separate work account which doesn't use github enterprise. The mobile app doesn't allow me to alternate between these two accounts.

Finally I can access and keep codespaces on the go!. 5/5 incredible

Awesome platform for developer and new learners . Highly recommended. 100% recommendations for developer

Please add projects support. Mostly great app, but I really wish I could manage projects through it.

Honestly Great. I have been waiting for Github to make the move to mobile platforms, I still think there is still more functionality needed, but it’s a great start!

Quite helpful. Great user experience and very handy

Super handy while on the move. Very handy and works well to review and merge the code on the go.

Works well for me. For my quick, on the go, tasks it’s much handier than web interface

Boo. Yeah

Can’t assign an issue to others. 1. In an issue, when I go to assign a task to someone, I only myself. Other developers have already been added to the repository and accepted. on the other hand, I can see and assign to an issue to others on your website. Once I assign on web and refresh the app it will appear on the app 2. The app's sync is extremely slow; the website is far superior.

GitHub. Got hub is great

Hard work making Living expanding simplistic Solidity!. Grateful for all you have done to become better! ≈ people coming to achieve dreams for freeing us further doing the quest of Phylogenetics Contemplation!

Sort by keys. Great new improvements - favourite is sorting by multiple keys : allows me to see old repos that might need attention.

Almost not Github that I know.. This App does many fundamental things that I use day to dat with Github completely differently, from Search to Closing issues or events commenting, rendering it useless if you expect to do the same work. Consistency triumphs any gimmick you consider improvement.

Nice app. Easy to work

So good. Waiting for this for so long!!!!! I can finally interact with my team members on GitHub on the go!

Cannot authorise in login. Horrible experience. Not usable.

Access to GISTS. I'll be great if the app allows to manage gists...

Super exciting. +1 for dark mode

Great app, but non-sense authentication side effect. The app is great, but has the non-sense side-effect of overriding user's default 2FA default method, with no option to NOT use this app as a 2FA method. Definitely a no-go.

Strongly Disrecommend. Software uses nultiple platforms to control and gain access to iOS devices.

can’t edit files in the app. I was hoping to be able to edit files directly, from a 12.9” ipad. Seems like basic functionality is missing.

Can’t squash merge. Can’t squash merge if I’m an admin

Great on the go experience. Wish we could close off discussions and hide them. They just kind of sit there forever.

Incredible. GitHub has helped me to collaborate and publish repositories. I’ve had a joyous time with it and I’ve gotten a career out of it. The team is great, the documentation is beautiful, the interface is clear and intuitive. Overall, it’s one of my favourite programs!

Pour vous encourager. Merci beaucoup pour votre belle application je les j’ai un compte avec alors je vous félicite je vous souhaite une bonne semaine et félicitations encore de René Viau à plus

It just works. Title

Amazing app but…. I will give 5 stars when I’ll be able to create new files inside my repos. Code autocompletion when editing files would be also amazing. Keep it up! 👍

Overall great. Perfect for quickly checking on things. Will use website for heavier work sessions. And you fixed the widget colours so 5 stars it is!

Almost there, but can't browse code. I think this app is almost perfect, made it much easier to interact with Github for me already. But there is one tiny feature that's missing, which makes it really hard for me to browse code: ability to disable code wrapping. I gave this feedback one time before already. I guess if they implement this, there'll be no other reason not to change my rating to 5 stars Update: Finally!! Disabling code review option is available! Raised my review stars to 5 🥳

cannot fork. why cannot fork

The only (BIG) downside. Cant edit any files…

Overall great, with a few things you can’t do. Needs a couple extra features, like being able to access organization discussions from inside the app, but overall very good.

FINALLLYYY. I was waiting for this for so long

GitHub native app. I’ve been using 3rd party apps for a while to get access to GitHub workflows on the go, but now this native GitHub app seems to be perfect, no need for any 3rd party apps. Great job! My only wish is to bring projects boards management support as well.

Repositories NOT showing. Tried everything but for the last few updates everytime i click on the “repositories” tab i get “Something went wrong, try again later”

Wonderful app!. The app is tremendous and I’m looking forward to the future evolutions, however it is draining the battery of my iPad while I’m reviewing pull requests, I bet there’s some optimizations to be done.

Great!. One of the best application, really good!

Epic app!!. Just as good as GitHub desktop, very smooth UI :)

Can’t sign in.. iPad Pro keyboard does not appear for sign in prompt. Downloaded this app to be stuck at the sign in screen.

Where are the actions??. Can’t find

Can’t sign in, no keyboard. What a ridiculous bug, I can sign in because it doesn’t show the keyboard. Useless.

5/5. Great app, great design, simple to use 👍

Love it 💫. Love it 🔥

Cannot search inside a repo, cannot search code. My goodness didn’t Microsoft fill this app store with employee reviews eh! Yeh, annoyingly nothing like the superb github.com. So many shortfalls it’s frustrating. Search bar has no advanced syntax, cannot search for something inside a repo (or it’s not obvious how you would) and cannot search code. Erm, isn't that the whole purpose!? It’s disappointing that such a well respected name in the developer world gives back so little in the ios one. It’s a joke. Top tip, install Working Copy by @palmin, clone the repo of interest and use his app to search code. It’s what I do until Microsoft figure out how to make a dev’s life easier.

Sysxtem. All systems Go

Nice!. The reason makes me leave a review is that the app can add issue with upload photos. Now I can easily add phone screenshots when debugging app on real device. Great feature!

Bad UX, but functional. While the app works fairly smoothly, it’s often hard to find the basics. Where is the code I need to review in this PR? Scroll up and down.

Impoverished functionality, limited utility. Lack of basic functionality (inability to bookmark repos opened from external links, fixed and tiny font size, lack of code line numbers, missing summary information about last changes on directory or file lines) render it a nice proof-of-concept, not much more. Developers were impervious to suggestions through TestFlight - it’s difficult to imagine what they believe this can do the standard site viewed in a web browser can’t do better.

Projects on mobile aren’t functional. You can’t quickly add or move around issues or drafts for a given project on mobile, which is quite frustrating.

Missing some features of the website. You can’t sponsor people through the app but you can through the mobile website

Buggy. The app is well done but unfortunately appears to be buggy. I am constantly getting a “403 - secondary rate limit” error whenever I try to browse the code of any repository - the app screen then switches to a generic error message “something went wrong”. :|

Great app. Great app with nice features

Great! Especially push notifications for Actions. App is great, fast and smooth. I love the push notifications for GitHub Actions!

Used to outstanding. It was such a great app but for a few weeks now notifications (not push) are extremely buggy. Sometimes it loads old ones that I already marked as seen, sometimes it just takes forever to load anything. Very frustrating, this app used to make my job so much smoother and now it’s just a hassle. Please fix it.

incredible. too bad my current job is using gitlab because i love using this app to just look back over my days work

Support for GitHub projectd. Please add support for GitHub projects including seeing cards in draft mode which would open up to the use of it as a Kanban board mobile

Good. Good

Search?. When you browse code, I can’t find the search. Is it missing?

Non-intuitive. The website alone is much more difficult to use than gitlab; this app is barely useable. Very difficult to find what I'm looking for.

1K rating. Make it 1K rating yeah!

Really solid app. Would love it if the keyboard allowed me to type backticks for code snippets in markdown.

Very nice. Easy to use, fun for the whole family.

Add Actions Monitoring. I just want to see my workflows! Otherwise good app

Not too complex!. I see a link to github in safari - I click - it launches this app - forces me to log in OR register - I do - and then it takes me back to safari and github page! Why can’t it just make up its mind and show me that page either within safari or this app?? Because it’s now owned by MS!

Beautiful. I appreciate the thoughtfulness put into the UI and UX of the GitHub app. Bonus points for the awesome app icons!

we can't even edit code. what's the point

Nice app. Since this whole quarantine thing I’m stuck inside playing with Arduino and raspberry pi. I’m 70+ and don’t get out very often anyway. Special thanks to everybody that contributed their time and hard work. You don’t know how much us dummies appreciate you!

Only one complaint. Only one complaint I have is that it’s really hard to find what I’m looking for in the pool request page, specifically, it’s really hard to find how to get to the file changes and it’s also hard to find how to submit a review.

Awesome, but missing one feature. Great app, includes everything you need to access issues, pr’s and other critical features. The one thing I haven’t seen yet is gist viewing. When I click a gist in notifications, it opens in the browser. I would want a way to view gists too.

Nicely done. Really feels like the website, but better. Super smooth and intuitive UI and navigation, and the features and improvements just keep coming. I have it set as the default app for all GitHub links on my phone, and there’s no going back!

Website is so much better.. Navigating the app is a PITA compared to the website. But you can’t really just go to the website anymore after installing because it forces you to the app. You also can’t do everything from the app, so I find myself constantly pulling out my laptop just to do simple tasks on the website. Quite annoying. JUST LET ME USE THE WEBSITE!!!!!

Amazing!. Finally I can respond to requests and search repositories on the go. There are a lot of Github iOS apps out there. Although this one seems promising. I am still checking out the features but, this seems to do well.

One star until editing text is available. For Microsoft of all the enormous corporations, you would think they would have the QUINTESSENTIAL, MOST USED AND VALUABLE FEATURE of GIT - editing a basic text file. Why have people been begging for this for YEARS and, not only does Microsoft IGNORE THE REVIEW AND FAIL TO REPLY (even using boilerplate) but they HAVE YET TO IMPLEMENT SUCH A CRUCIAL FEATURE! Get it together and stop simply trying to maximize your profits and (blatantly abusive) users’ personal data collection and dissemination/wholesaling (for more moolah 💰💰💵💸 🤑🤑🤑

I’m very mad. So I just got this and when I sign in it doesn’t sign in I tried like 10 times with the password and the email it keeps saying wrong password even though I checked and it’s right I don’t know what to do can anyone fix this?!....

Getting better.... I just bumped my review from 2 to 4 stars. With version 1.1.0, being able to browse commit history and branches has significantly improved the utility of this app! It would still be nice to see screenshots in bug reports, and also search within projects (you can only search all of github).

Love it!. I love having an idea and being able to open the app and enter the details into a GH Issue. The notifications are also great here because GH web notifications are notoriously noisy.

Some features work better than the actual web UI lol. Some features work better than the actual web UI 😂 very nice app. As most of us can agree, GitHub is amazing.

Continues to grow. Features are constantly improving. After hour emergency PRs reviews are easily handled quickly. Caused me to turn off email alerts as this is much easier to manage.

Nice UI, but constantly failing. It’s great to have a native iPhone app.. finally, but the app is constantly failing to connect and asking to try again. Then, and probably the worst, is that after you write a comment and submit, the app returns an error. It’s not clear if it actually saved or not. In some cases it doesn’t, and others it does. I’ve accidentally submitted the same comment 3x and other times thought I submitted a comment and it never submitted. I expect more from github.

Premier TradingView App RECOMMENDED!. If you are a trader of any asset. You have got to try for 30 days ‘Premier’ (Fully featured) with charts for nearly every asset including crypto! Give it a Go! I discovered how using this FULLY featured Charting tool, it paid for itself within 30 days of use!

Many page urls not working properly. I’ve already submitted a bug report on this, but none of the wiki page, release, or Kanban board links work right with the app. Any link to instructions on a wiki just redirects right back to the root of the repo. It’s a decent app, but this frustrates me a lot leaving this only useful for responding to issues or looking for new projects, not actually doing anything productive.

Useful and effective. Through GH’s app I’m able to review + merge PRs and respond to comments easily. It does these things well, and that’s all I really need it to do. Keeps things perfectly simple.

GOAT for mobile access. I’ve been using this for a number of years and love that I am connected to my team even when I’m out on the road. Being able to easily interact to keep things moving adds value to what I do every day.

Great companion app to have!. Being able to get push notifications on pull request updates has already been huge for my productivity. Really solid app and would absolutely recommend to any developers who heavily use github already!

Good and getting better all the time. When this app first launched, it didn’t have quite the ease of use that I tend to expect from github-related projects. But in the updates since then, it has improved significantly and become an essential part of my workflow.

GitHub on the go. This is a really great move; however, there are some features I wish I had in the app. I have submitted feedback. Having options to change settings, edit , or even see more info about repos like the language used and such would be cool.

Abuse and cyber stalking. I apologize upfront but internet and cyber anything was my prison, it was used to monitor me in an abusive relationship,, this git hub no idea what it is but it non stop comes up and the email address that I can as abused with is registered? I can only say that I tried once in feb 2018 to run but tracker.. I remember my victim advocates face when I began crying they asked what was wrong.. a person who I never seen before plugged a charger in the wall for her phone I began sobbing he will find us now. I believe you have hurt me

A good start. A good start. The mentioning experience needs some improvement. And what I really need is support for GitHub projects. We use GitHub for our whole sprint management and the lack of a mobile support for projects is one of my main grievances.

Freezes when going into landscape. This app is freezing consistently when rotating into landscape mode. The only reason I have to use landscape mode is when viewing assets, the file names are too long and get cut off. Every app has a way to deal with this. Either have the file names scroll or make them multiple lines or do SOMETHING but this needs to be fixed as well.

Incomplete. If this is a mobile productivity and communication tool, it’s incomplete without comprehensive push notification support. Things like: new issues, comments on issues, pull request activity, etc. should all have associated notifications. Until then, I’m still reliant on 3rd party apps like CodeHub.

Easy, intuitive, powerful. The app complements the GitHub website very well. I just got the app and there is basically zero learning curve. The user experience is intuitive and seamless with the GitHub website. Excellent for commenting, updating, reviewing pull requests.

GitHub Actions. Love the app, but how can I see GitHub actions / Workflow for my repos? I get the notification for successful builds and clicking the notification shows me the menu, but I cannot find it without clicking the notification.

surprisingly useful missing github action Checks view. surprisingly useful ! i’d love to see a view for github actions (the Checks view on PRs) though. It’s hard and cumbersome to navigate to them and see results or download any artifacts of a build, eg a review build to download and test on the phone

would recommend. To anyone that uses github actively and just needs to check a pr or a comment on an issue this app is great. its fast the UI is much like the website making it easy to use. As a bonus the icon is very customizable so it doesnt have to be ugly on your homescreen.

Great, focused app. Great for reviewing PRs, even adding small suggestions. Push notifications are also nice, better than emails. I also appreciate that it uses native iOS controls (navigation views, lists, etc.), it makes it feel polished and familiar.

I can’t login. I can’t use the app because I can’t even login. After clicking on sign in button it takes me to github page where I’m supposed to authorize the app to access my account but the page only shows a list of permissions with a disabled “Authorize GitHub” button. I guess there is a hidden checkbox somewhere for agreeing terms or something, of which checking it will enable the button, however I don’t see anything like that so I can’t login.

Can’t see issues on some repositories. This may be due to the settings of said repository, but it would be helpful to at least say that in the app. I somewhat doubt that’s the case though, why would it be ok to view issues in a web browser but not an app? Otherwise, the app is great.

Quick and easy reviews and merges. 90% of what I use the GitHub site for is reviewing PRs. This app makes that quick and easy. I was able to merge an approved PR from my phone while waiting for my car outside an auto repair shop. Thanks for this app!

Excellent app... but. The app is great, I can open files, check my favorite repos and so on but when is the moment to open an entire repo in other app I just can’t literally it isn’t implemented, and doing that with every file is really annoying specially for bigger repos

Pretty Good. GitHub is a big web app, so having this in mobile form is pretty good. Just missing some key features and functionality that make me still go to the mobile website rather than the app.

Never thought I would need a GitHub app.. Besides your own repos, the discovery section actually does a pretty good job of recommendation based on things that are relevant to you and the interface is just great in general.

Incredible well designed for mobile. Given that it makes so much sense for me to interact with GitHub on my computer the majority of the time, I wasn’t expecting the mobile app to be so nice and easy to use. It’s beautiful.

Good but missing features. My use case for the GitHub app is almost purely administrative, so it is frustrating when I can’t do things like change settings or invite people to collaborate. What the app does do, it does well though.

Works pretty well. Glad they finally came out with a mobile app, no complaints. It works pretty seamlessly. There’s fewer features than the full web version but they’re adding more parity over time.

Able to sign in to a specific account. I love the app. The only thing I wish was possible is that seeing that I have multiple accounts saved in my Keychain, I should be able to chose which account I want. Also, an option to switch between accounts and not just repositories. If those were there, it’s a 5 star for me.

Improving all the time. The app continues to improve and become a better experience. The features that are released actually work. Can’t wait to see the continued improvements!

Unable to preview file (jpeg pictures). Amazing app! Almost easier to navigate than the browser version, except for one extremely annoying bug, some simple jpeg pictures show up as unable to preview, when they come up without issues in the browser.

Need to be fix. So many thing issues that I can’t fix, including pull requests, everything have to be fix and ready to use, still a lot of things going to do

Trending Repos? 🤩. This is everything that you get on the GitHub website plus a news feed with trending repositories, and all sorts of stuff! All of the functionality that you get with the website, and more!

Great App. GitHub is a great app because it lets you work with the more social media type of features. It needs to be updated a lot more so that it becomes at the same level as the online version, but the social media features definitely keep it afloat.

Really solid mobile app experience. I think a lot of people love GitHub’s desktop experience, but I’ve really enjoyed the app for reviewing and creating issues while I move through NYC on the subway.

Great App!. This is a great app. I’ve used it for months now and it is better than using the web version for me to quickly see commits etc that have been made. Great user interface…

Easy and convenient. Just created an issue for my repo and was able to quickly upload photos. Good feature parity. Wish you could switch accounts but otherwise great!

Steady improvements. This app was not so useful early in its life but steady improvements have made it so that I don’t need to switch to the website to get most common things done. Well done and keep it up!

Maybe the best interface to GitHub?. Every workflow that I use on a regular basis is easy and intuitive in a way that seems even better than the web app, sometimes. Excellent job!

Hope you can add macOS support. When the new Apple Silicon(M1) came out, the GitHub app on it was very helpful. But since macOS 11.3, we can’t use/sideload iOS app on Mac until the developer offers it in the Mac App Store. So PLEASE just click the Mac button in Connect app and add it to the MAS.

Please wait! GitHub app comments loading...
