Awesome Voice Recorder PRO AVR App Reviews

terrible "upgrade". I've been using the free version of this app for YEARS. I finally decided to get the paid version bc I wanted to be able to organize my (many) memos into folders. So I paid for Pro and instead of unlocking the folder feature IT DOWNLOADED A COMPLETELY SEPARATE APP THAT DOESN'T HAVE ANY OF MY OLD RECORDINGS IN IT!!! They're all stuck inside the free version of the app where I STILL can't organize them. And I can't find a way to import them into the new Pro App. I could (possibly) download them to my computer, sync them thru iTunes, and hope that works. But I'm not going to waste time doing something that braindead and inane. I'd rather just switch to another app and hope I can get a refund. Seriously WHY MAKE YOUR PRO UPGRADE SO INCONVENIENT!?

Works well for professional. I make numerous recordings for voiceovers professionally with this app and clients are happy.

Does not do what it’s supposed to. Read a lot of things online that I could use this app to edit ringtones for my iPhone . Nope . Paid for the unlocked version but it does the same thing the free version does . I want my money back !

The best voice recorder. Excellent features not found in other apps.

Great recording.. Really good voice recording, I definitely recommend, it will record as long as you have free space to do so, unlike some of the others that let you only record for a few minutes or less and your able to slow/speed up the recordings.

WAV recording is broken. Bought this to record in raw WAV format. File names for WAV aren’t saved after recording is finished, playback for WAV in the app isn’t possible, and the WAV files appear to be corrupted when trying to open in an editing tool. MP3 works fine, though. Odd. But not what I’m looking for.

Pretty Good. It also offers noise reduction post processing. This helps with my recording in a noisy classroom.

Just perfect...... I’ve had a lot of recorders over the years and this recorder is unquestionably the best I’ve used. “DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING”l love it.

Apple Watch bug?. Since this update my Apple Watch has been keep on rebooting. Uninstalled, for the moment. Please check.

Quick and Versatile recording functionality.. Extremely satisfied. Very simple but useful tool for recording, reviewing and clipping. And the voice recording quality is fabulous on both iPhone and Apple Watch! You can use stealth (discreet) recording on iPhone with no problem, but don’t expect the same thing on Apple Watch. It’s simply designed for the quick instant recording on the go and simple record-pause-stop remote when recording on the phone(hard to exercise discretion). Waiting for updates for the multiple uploading to clouds, too.

Good but not perfect. The only problem is that, if you want to play what you recorded, it need many steps. It is better to have a play button to make it easier.

Stops recording on watch. Hi App stops recording on Apple Watch as soon as you exit the app or leave it recording and turn your hand as screen goes black app will stop. I don’t have this problem with other app. If your app does not support recording in background I would like refund to purchase another app.

Convenient and effective method to record audio. This app is a very easy and effective method to record audio. Good noise reduction and user friendly editing.

You shouldn’t be without it!!. As a newspaper reporter, i have found AVR Pro to be indispensable. Used the free version but paid for the pro version and it was worth every penny. Great sound when recording. If you want ti put it up on your MacBook, just airdrop it. To be able to speed up, slow down, jump ahead or back makes playback extremely easy. Don’t hesitate— buy the pro version today.

Please make this app compatible with Apple AirPods. I love this app. I use it consistently and appreciate the sound quality and the shareability of the files. Would give five stars but you really need to make this work with Apple AirPods. If I want a clean voice audio, I have to use the old fashioned plug-in earbuds. Please change this!

Upgraded But files missing. Clicked upgrade and app installed. I hoped this would allow me to use functionality on existing audio files. It did not! Instead it created a new install as a separate app and all files are missing. When I click on check for purchase history it says does not exist. Please provide fix.

Use on Apple Watch. This Voice Recorder App icon is not available for placement on the Apple Watch Face as a Complication - very disappointing, as it means I can’t simply tap the App icon from the Watch Face and begin to use. Without the complication icon available, I now must go through several steps to navigate and use the App — Big Drag! Please make this App available as an Apple Watch Complication. Note: I purchased this App specifically for Apple Watch.

It doesn’t work. Edit: still doesn’t work.. I purchased and downloaded the app. I’ve made six test recordings. They show up in the default folder. Each file as a different size, but zero time on any of them. And I can’t play them. Update: I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and this app has not worked since the day I bought it. I’ve gotten absolutely no help from the maker of this app.

LOVE AVR Pro and Use DAILY!. I’ve been using AVR PRO for many years now, EVERY single day! Not a day goes by when I’m not listening to a recording or making a recording. I have thousands of recordings.

Very nice app to work with. Sadly I get errors with IOS 11.4 and watch OS 4.3.1, both standard releases. The errors say the app is not updated. On the watch it just acts like a remote for the phone. This does not allow recording to the watch or using the watch microphone. This is acceptable but don’t call it a watch app, call it a watch remote However, on the phone it seems to work ok, after the initial error. This works good and has good quality.

Junk. Yetanother piece of junk on the App Store. Rename files functionality does not work. The thing cannot find my microphone input. Paid five dollars wish I get a refund but that’s not how the game works on this place

Please fix export issues. The sound quality is good, but it seems no matter what sound container you export the file it can never be successfully opened in Audition or Acid or Vegas.. there is always missing meta data or corruption

Wonderful. I have used several apps for recording and for therapy. This app works. The developers don’t change it into an incomprehensibly complicates mess. No, they just make it better.

Excellent app. I use this app to record anything I need to memorize. Then I listen over and over till it sinks in. Great quality recordings. Easy to use. Dec. 23, 2017. Using this app to record my podcast. So far so good.

Shady, and difficult to edit. Tried to sync this app to my Google drive, but Google would not allow it because “this app tried to access sensitive info in your Google account.” Also, I could not figure out how to trim the ends off the audio file — editing seems difficult. And I really wanted this to simply access the standard iOS sharing interface so I could send an audio file over iMessage, but it does not do that. Not a great file sharing experience.

Very good. Overall it is the best recording app from the Apple Watch. Thank you for putting the ability to record straight from the watch, back on there. The recording quality sounds super fine.

Excellent overall. Some operations are obscure. Excellent pick up and play back. Good filing system. Shares easily. My one complaint is that the in-app instructions are not clear enough for first time users. I wanted to combine a few files into one longer file and the instructions were not clear on how to do this. Getting to the “combine” screen was difficult. I had to eventually edit the file then trust that the two chain link symbol was actually the control to bring up the “combine” screen referenced in the help file. It was. The help file referenced “combine” but provided no instructions for how to bring it up.

Recorder with the function I want!. I especiallyI use this app like that this recorder plays back on repeat and is easy to use! Also, I had a problem with this recorder, wrote the support and it was fixed the next morning. I would recommend that you get it!

Great Recording. This app is great for crisp audio recording. My only drawback is that it can’t work in “stealth mode” and record telephone conversations. It automatically pauses when there’s an incoming call

Ridiculous! Passcode Required and Not Responsive!. In short, somehow this app began requiring me to enter a password to access my recordings. This has been required WITHOUT my initiation for the past several months. I have reached out to the developer with no response. So, all of my recordings are inaccessible. What a disgrace that someone can’t even get back to me.

AVR PRO...NO SOUND. Need help...I recorded a very important meeting and when I play it back in my AVR PRO... no sound!!! but I can see the graphic moving forward, what can I do???

Great App, but missing feature on iPhone 11 pro max. This app is so useful. I use it daily. I love to add files to it from my MacBook so that I can listen at various speeds. I’m able to use Airdrop to my previous iPhone , but with my new phone, AVR PRO is not given as an option, and I don’t see any other option for importing files.

Does not record while background music is playing.. I honestly am going to ask for my money back with apple lol. It specifically says the pro version allows for background music to play while recording and it stops every single time.

THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS!!. 12/22 update: even though I’ve paid for the pro version it’s not letting me rewind faster than 5 seconds. This app isn’t working as promised. I’m not receiving the benefits I’m suppose to. Why is it telling me I need to purchase pro version when I ALREADY HAVE IT! I’ve been using the free version for years and finally decided to upgrade since I needed more personalization. This app fails to provide proper instructions on how to import from the free version. I had to struggle through it with my anxiety kicking in, it was very frustrating. But at last. I figured it out. Settings—> share —> Dropbox (only one that worked for me) —> sign in Go to the file you want to transfer, click icon with upward pointer —> share option —> select Dropbox. It’ll take you to another page, then select upload. Open Dropbox, locate uploaded files —> export —> AVR pro. Hopefully this helps someone. Other than that, I love the app. Very useful, just a major headaches transferring files. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Love it but I need help!. I love this app! I have lots of short recordings… have used it fir 2-3 years! But…why can’t I get icon on my upgraded iPhone 14? Every time I try to listen to a voice memo I have to search for app or go to apple store and open it. I need my AVR Pro icon back please! And thank you!

Superb!!. I’m a former National radio entertainment reporter and I currently have a show on air in Arizona. The quality of this app is just superb. I couldn’t be happier. It’s also very easy to transfer...upload, save. I strongly suggest you spend a few bucks to get the Pro version. Highly worth it!

Top drawer. Couldn't agree more with the laudatory reviews. Works like a charm.

Good stuff. Most impressive is the fact that they have a logical sortable default date format for naming files, unlike basically every other app on earth! I really wish you could choose multiple files for export to Dropbox, and choose a destination folder. Other than that, great.

You make it great as you create. Be that as it may I am a creator of many things The diversity of what my mind brings I speak I sing I record almost anything and this works great for me because what I make great is all the things I create.

A good app but has a big an annoyance. The app is good but has an annoyance with the file naming. Why must it append “Default_” to the beginning of every file? This can’t be easily removed from the iPhone and when sending audio clips for work this can be very annoying. By the way I have sent multiple support emails but never get a response.

Excellent recording app with couple of issues. I’m having this app for quite long and this is my preferred app for any voice recording need. Absolutely no complaints except following 2 items: 1. Unable to record voice using Apple AirPod. Once recording pressed it cuts off AirPod and uses only device mic. I’m not happy with this kind of app behavior. I think this should be fixed 2. If 5 recordings are in a folder & if I start playing the first one, it stops after that first audio. I expect it to play all 5 one after the other within the folder. This makes the whole playback experience manual.

App will not play back. The app on my phone will record, but will not allow me to rename the files or play them back after recording. The link for app support is not working.

Open in no longer supported. Cannot open audio files awesome voice eroded from other sources using the “open in” function. Stopped working with iOS 13.

Great.. Only mp3 is working. Wav and m4a won’t play and causes the app to crash. I would love if the calender feature was back also. Otherwise great app.

Very basic recorder. I could only find the start and stop buttons. If other buttons exist, they must be well concealed. A lack of instructions makes this app no better than the basic dictation app that comes with the operating system.

Pretty good. Looks pretty good. Lots of features, like speed adjust, track edit, etc. Takes a bit of wandering around to figure things out but once done it actually makes sense and is quite workable.

Record problem. Don't record right after the tone. Have to wait one or two seconds if we want a full record. Please fix that little bug! Thanks otherwise!

2 separate apps?!. I used the free version for a while. Now I needed the trimming functions so I upgraded to the pro version. But it installed a completely new app on my phone and all my files that I wanted to trim are still with the old one... Disappointed!

Almost there. All that I can see missing is a default setting where all you have to do is start and stop the recorder and the rest happens automatically so it can be used when driving. I would like it to automatically name files by date and time and then automatically upload to Dropbox or email it to a default address. As of now, too many buttons to press especially while driving. But otherwise works great.

perfect. it's really good and useful application, but why it doesn't have multi select option ? for delete records !?

Finally. Looked at several recording apps. Feature for feature this is by far the most intuitive, easiest to use. For example, when uploading files, it's about the best graphic feedback of all I've tried. Just a well put together app.

Excellent. This app is outstanding, very good UI and easy to use. It deserves 5+ star for sure. Just two suggestions: 1) Being able to sync a specified folder 2) It would be so helpful if one can add simple notes just like the way the tags are added during recording.

Amazing Quality. Although this app claims that its main function is for voice recording, it excels at all recordings in general. The Google Drive link ability is great, and will be very helpful for transferring sounds to my computer. My only complaints were that if I exit the app, it turns off the google drive link, and that finding the option to upgrade to pro was a bit difficult. All in all it's a very good app!

Really like this app – much improved. This App was good before for recording, but was tough to upload and share. They recently added the ability to upload to Google drive, one drive and other services that make this much easier to use and to share. Use the app to make rehearsal recordings for actors and musicians (just rough recording) and it works very well for that.

Works as expected .... Clear and functional interface. Uploading to DropBox worked well. The iPhone has a decent microphone that also deserves credit. It can replace a digital voice recorder for most usage scenarios.

Best Recorder Yet. This app is probably the best recorder app out there. It has nearly everything. If I may make a few requests, being that watchOS 2 was just released, If you could add the option to record and play directly off the watch that would be great. Also adding a complication and/or glance for faster recording would be awesome. Thirdly, changing the default folder would be cool too.

Nag for review. This app looks like it's going to be pretty efficient and pretty useful but I am forced apparently to provide a review. I've been using it for about a half hour and I've gotten at least eight pop ups requesting me to review it even though I told it later and eventually told it no. So here's the review in hope the pop ups will stop nagging. and I can try the app some more.

No Answers!. A recorded quite a few recordings of book highlighted notes for study that were 10 minutes plus each. One day I opened up app and they were all gone. No!!! I've tried to contact the developer several times and they never returned my emails. I really loved the app and was suggesting it to many clients, but now I told them not to get the app because it's too quirky and there seems to be no customer service. Very frustrating.

Can't Get Any Better!. I've needed a simple, intuitive, and reliable method to record my daily tasks. AVR Pro immediately provided a recording tool which enabled me to not only accomplish tasks in a timely manner but more importantly track unfinished tasks. AVR Pro is easily learned, quickly applied, and economically "one heck of a great buy!"

High-quality easy to use. I'm using dictation to leave this review. I've been dictating on my treadmill for a while now using AVR pro to record the file and then later upload it to Dragon for dictation translation. AVR pro makes it easy, fast, and simple to upload to drop box. I highly recommend it.

Saved Priceless file. My husband died 4 years ago, and I happened to have one voice recording of him on an app that’s no longer available and doesn’t work on iOS 11. I re-recorded the file to AVR Pro and got a perfect recording. Then to top it off, was able to share the file to my OneDrive account so now it’s available on whatever platform I’m using. Am looking forward to exploring all the uses for this wonderful app?

Great app!. I purchased the pro version and love it! I have been looking for a recorder in which I can regulate the playback speed. This is it! Very user friendly which includes folders to keep track of all my recordings. Great purchase!

One Box Does not work on app. There is no easy way to get file off the phone. Text and email is not supported and it has problems with cloud services.

So far so great.. I find the controls great so far. Very easy and records really clear. I haven’t yet tried to get recordings to other devices for listening. But I think it will be easy given the ease of recording and filing in the app so far. Once I do and if it is easy I would rate this 5 stars

A waste of money.. I bought this app to replace my iRecorder Pro app, which began having problems after the last IOS upgrade. I record astrological readings for clients, which can take over two hours, and email them the recording. The iRecorder app will break down the file into 3 or 4 sections, and I email them individually. When I used this app to record an hour and a half session, it could not email it, saying the file was too large. Given that it gives you unlimited recording time, I find that odd. Thank God I had used my iPhone with the iRecorder app as a back-up, or the entire session would have been unavailable to my client. They should tell you that you can't share large files via email, and the app doesn't break them down, as others do. A complete waste of my money, for what I need the app to do.

Apple Watch. Good App, but no control on Apple Watch. Need to add fast forward and rewind to match settings in iPhone App (rewind 10 seconds, etc.). Also could add volume control on Apple Watch using Digital Crown just like Apple Music App on Apple Watch. Thus would become an awesome workout App for walkers, runners, etc. if the controls were added to Apple Watch.

Apple Watch. Has anyone figured out how to record from the watch? I have series 3 and purchased this so I can record from the watch. I can’t figure out how to do it. Not very user friendly.

very buggy aop. an expensice and buggy app

Basic Intuitive Design, but.... It’s a basic, simple, intuitive design for easy recording. The parameters can be set high as well such as to record live music concerts, etc. But, 9the ‘but’ factor) two (2) caveats… 1. Extremely slow to convert to .mp3 file format. And 2. When exporting (saving) to .m4a format, the application crashes. Fix those two issues in the QC department and I will consider a higher star rating.

WAV file format not working. Recorded in Wav file format. Shared by email and all files do not play on laptop. Says corrupted. Very annoying as I needed the Wav files for work

NOT secret AT ALL!. What’s “secret” about a lock screen that comes on with a BRIGHT RED bar with a MICROPHONE icon and a GIANT and OBVIOUS “Return to ABR PRO” text at the top pf my LOCK SCREEN?! REFUND, LIARS!

Rip off. They don't tell you when you download the free version that you can't play back the recording unless you spend $5 on the "pro" version. I downloaded the "pro" version because I needed this very important meeting recording I had and instead of updating the free version it downloaded a whole other app. The recording I have is still stuck in the free version and I can't move the recording to the paid version and I still can't listen to it on the free version. I'm very unhappy at just getting swindled into paying $5 for something and still not being able to use it. The other reviews on this app must be from their employees. This app is BS!!!

Great Interface, weak on key feature. This would be a 5-star app if it weren't for the fact that it doesn't allow trimming in the editing of files. If I record something for a voice over and I need to edit out mistakes or errors I am unable to extract parts of the file. I'd like to edit out sections without creating a new file of the cut piece. Needs also a better upload feature from the web. I tried several files and it didn't work. Love the interface and some of speed adjustment features.

Great app does what it says it will. Not a fan of the 'neediness' of the app for validation by asking for a review but it works. No issues, I bought this app purely for the the ability to record on my watch with a huge glaring RECORDING button staring everyone in the meeting in the face. If you need 'covert/discreet' voice recording on your Apple Watch, this will get the job done for you.

Poor. Pure nonsense. Can’t even find directions how to save a file or copy one. There is NOTHING user friendly about this app more appropriately titled “crap .” Silly application writing. I’m sorry I fell for the hype!

Solution found. I tried several recorder apps... Most were ok... This one had all the options I was looking for... Several options to download recordings, iTunes, your personal wifi, drop box... Well worth the few bucks... I wish the input meter was bigger so you could see you the signal better but none seem to have that...

Awesome recorder!. i was done using the stock apple recording app and was vigorously looking for a better alterative. After using the free version for a few months i jumped over to pro and its been a better experince! the cutting of the tracks helps so much and of course the fidelity is great! awesome app needs like 9 starts out of ten. I also reccommed this to another who i work with for recordings.

Works occasionally.... When it works this app is great, but the problem is, it's unreliable. It actually records only about half the time. Usually when I open the app and hit record, nothing happens. Nothing. It stores an empty file with 0:00:00 minutes in the default folder. Not at all useful when you're trying to get an idea recorded right away. On my Apple Watch, running WatchOS2, the app still has not worked. It records 0% of the time on my watch. Asking for a refund.

Nice App. I really like this app and gave it 5 stars because it does what it says it will do! Now... I would still like to see iCloud as a upload choice. I'd also like to see the Dropbox stay logged in between sessions so I can click record and quit worrying about if a crazy person grabs my phone. Auto-upload, ya... I like that idea and I expect this app developer already had that on his list!

Great recorder!!!. I tried numerous recorders and this is by far the best one!

I love everything about this app!. The feature I use most is the slower playback option at half speed, great for checking songs recorded by my singing group, for note accuracy. I love how I can organize recordings into different files, naming them, renaming them, and even moving them to another file if needed. I love the repeat feature, great for learning new music we've recorded, I work on the vocals while listening to it over and over again. It's very convenient to be able to open other audio files in AVR PRO that I receive via email to play back at a slower speed and save for future use. The editing options are very thorough and useful. I have nothing negative to say about this app; I completely recommend it!

Great addition to the iPhone 6 plus microphone. Great quality recordings out of this app - clear sound, taking great advantage of the very capable mic built-in to the iPhone. I have the 6 plus, and it's been a great, on the go recorder for event announcements, voice-overs, etc. Maybe adding some filters would be good... But otherwise, I'll be using it all the time!!

Working on a widget!?!?. I’d really like to see a widget in a future update!

Awesome! it really is awesome! Best recorder!. I give this app over 5 stars. Best voice recorder out there on the market! No other app allows for combination of audio files into a new one, nor, the organization of audio files into different folders! Best 5 dollar investment ever! I am becoming a book writer and this app helps jot down ideas for stories and puts them into a sequence to create a new audio file! I am excited about this app. It makes voice memos on my phone look like a piece of junk compared to this new app. Thanks a lot for having an app for this kind of work I am doing. This will be a great help! I use exclaimation marks because I am excited that this is truly awesome!

Wow! I'm impressed.. I just started using this, but it's a really nice app! Lots of features, and even has an app for the Apple Watch. I tried recording from my watch and it records louder than I had expected which is a GOOD thing, I wasn't sure how loud the watch would record to be honest. Many features to look at here, and I like that you can speed up or slow down the playback. Got it for 99 cents, what a deal! Thanks for this great app!
