A tad glitchy.. Your options are bluegill or trout. I wished it included small mouth, peacock bass or crappie. The fly selection is limited but when you catch fish you earn additional patterns. Can be hard to learn at first but nothing crazy. The app crashes sometimes. If you want to buy additional maps outside of the free ones the seem a tad pricey, but somewhat realistic graphics.

Enjoyable Game. I enjoy this game. It uses realistic stream video and that tackle to be rig in a number of ways to adjust for different water conditions. Caching more fish leads to better tackle and additional stream sections. Would be nice to have more larger fish opportunities, but enjoyable nevertheless. Worth the purchase.

Fun when it works. This is a go-to game to play when I have an itch for fly fishing and I’m stuck at the office. It is fun and as realistic as you can get. I went ahead and purchased the full version which was worth it because of the extra locations and the variety of fish you can catch. BUT the game crashes all of the time. It often happens when I am reeling in a big fish which is frustrating. Also, after you create a fly at a location it takes you back to the main screen and you have to restart your location again instead of going back to where you left off. Overall decent game, but needs some work.

Alright game, but…….. This game is super interesting and entertaining but the problem is that in order to catch bigger fish you need to spend more money to buy bigger leaders. Also fishing in the same spot gets boring and you also need to pay money for new fishing spots. This game is just pay to win.

Great game but needs a net. This game is great although expensive and could use a net so you don't have to break the tippet every time you have a big fish a foot in front of your person when in reality you would just net the fish

Great Game. Just got this game. Absolutely love playing it. Maybe for some future streams/rivers, fishing for Salmon, Pike fishing, big brook trout from Canada or Maine. I just hope they keep adding places to fish. It is about as realistic as it could be without actually being on the stream.

Fly Fishing. I picked this game up on a whim, not thinking it would be more than a minor amusement. Couldn't have been more wrong. This is a fun and very realistic fly fishing app that I immediately turned two of my brothers onto. We are now having tournaments to see who can catch the biggest fish! Very fun and addictive.

Keep coming back for more. I’ve played this game on and off for many years and I am a well seasoned angler and fly tyer of 25+ seasons. When I’m stuck at home this game just hits the spot. The hatches and the matching flies are accurate, the casting is simple but demands the timing of actual casting and the bird sounds/river sounds put me at ease. I’m really enjoying it on the iPad vs. the iPhone.

I love the challenge. I didn’t think I would like this game at first but after playing it I love it. I love how challenging it is compared to other fishing games. It feels way more realistic.

Big Fan. Been actually fly fishing for 43 years. Don't usually play games but I'll try simulations. Best fly fishing virtual experience on any platform. When I can't get out there I pick up my tablet for simulated fun. Top notch. Well done. I strongly recommend it if you fly fish or just want to get the feel of what it would be like.

A good reminder of how much better it is on the water!. Great way to kill some time when you can’t be on the water. As realistic as you’ll get without outing waders on.

Fun Game. This is a really good and fun game. My only problem with it is that it takes 10+ minutes just to reel in an 8 inch fish. Other than that it’s great👍 Update: I figured out how to do it better and I have tried the newer version of the game, and both are really fun. I like the hd version a little better but they’re still both fun.👍

Nice Getaway. Started playing this to relax from work-life stress, my wife wonders where I am at and yells “stop fishing on the toilet” haha fantastic game; could improve the UI a bit and maybe add once you get an X amount of record catches on a lake you can unlock a new site for free. But overall stellar game!

Fly fishing simulator. Great game ! With a review of the easy to understand tutorial and a few minutes of practice I was catching fish . You can lose track of time just like the real thing . A great escape. Highly recommend !

I really like the game. It really is a good game but 15 dollars 4 everything like rods reals leaders that’s insane money on a game I am a fly fisherman myself it is a pretty good experience of real life I fly fish for white bass it takes 30 seconds to land one not 10 minutes that’s one thing the creators neeeeed to fix they do tire fairly quickly I personally love hunting fishing everything of that nature that’s my thoughts on the game.

Big Den of Johnstown. The game is good ,it has some good features. I like the casting, and the catching part. The fighting part needs some work, Better control of the rod and reel. Maybe be able to move around a little. But , over all a great learning tool for the beginner fly fisherman.

Fly fishing at its best. No other app is this authentic, only thing you don't get is wet, I'll give it a five star rating and recommend it I'd like to see one for LM bass fly fishing but this one is far and away the most realistic fly fishing app ...

Great game. Great game. Pretty realistic. Lots of spots to fish with different challenges. Unfortunately, every time I've hooked a large fish, the fight takes a long time and the app crashes. $15 is a lot to gain access to the whole game. I won't be purchasing it unless the crashes stop.

Great app. When you land fish. Other flies are rewarded and additional sites/streams are available to fish. Plenty of wet/dry flies. Plenty of fun. I downloaded 4 fishing site. Deleted 3 of them after a few weeks. Kept this and fish probably everyday. Would like to see another update to see how you can expand more. Thanks. Love the graphics. Can even see the shadows of fish in the stream.

Be ready to spend money on everything.. You won’t get anywhere without buying more and better gear. If you don’t but buy a better rod and gear you’ll be stuck in the third fishing location and almost unable to land any fish. Be ready for your line to always fail. A game shouldn’t always require you to pay to advance any farther. It’s my opinion, its more of a scam.

Fantastic game but..... I absolutely love this game it is so much fun but the down side is that you have to pay to unlock other cool stuff and I would love it if the graphics were better but otherwise it is a blast playing it!!!😉

The Big One Got Away.... There have been many times where I have hooked a big fish, only to have this fishing simulator close on me right in the middle of a fight. With that said, that is the only downfall about this program. This fishing simulator is lots of fun.

Updated to HD - Still The Best Fishing Game on Any Platform!. Anyone looking for a great fishing game, mobile or otherwise, should read no further before downloading this app, right now, and get to some fishing. It is really that good! The casting and reeling mechanics are additctive, like a golf simulation, and the hatch and gear matching functions round out the gameplay. The visuals and audio that put you on the water, along with the tension of potentially breaking off during a fight that the retrieve mechanics impart really put this simulation above all other fishing games I've tried, again, on any platform. The addition of the floatant and desiccant features of the PC version of the game would be icing on the cake. Buy the whole thing outright or just grab the bits that appeal to you - you can't go wrong picking up Paul Halter's Fly Fishing Simulator. (I'd plug his other titles, but I'm not sure the app store rules would allow it.) Great game!

Great but.... This is a great game very realistic, I recommend getting in but there is that but, you can unlock the sites and all that than you gotta pay cmon I love this game I didn't wanna pay, plz at least make more flies for free and more sights

This is FUN!!!!. I have enjoyed this game a great deal. It’s fun, realistic, and always challenging. My only gripe is it works only one way as far as its orientation. I would like to be able to flip my phone and play with it so my sleep button is on the other side.

Amazing. The game is very fun but it kinda feels like a money trap because you have to pay for a new rod and different sights. So please developers have pity on some and give us a second rod and line and one more sight to fish and then it will be a five star game. But over all it’s very fun.

Fantastic!. I’ve played the Fire version fir a few years, was so happy to see a HD iPad version! This game is great, so many rivers to fish. Haven’t fished the Saco in NH in years since I moved away, the locations in the game are holes I used to fish daily, amazing attention to detail in that regard. Fishing simulation feels great, plenty of fish to catch, loads of options for flies and gear. Easily my favorite iPad game. Worth the price of buying the full version. Just one glitch I’ve noticed: the game sometimes crashes when accidentally pulling down the notifications screen while reeling a fish in. Easy enough reload the game with its fast start-up time, but certainly disruptive. Thanks to the developers for all the hard work on this title, so happy to “fish” my home waters again!

Crash. Great game. Lots of fun, just takes a little to long to bring in big fish. Crashes from time to time. Not sure I want to spend the $15 if that is going to happen.

Fun app but please fix crashes. Very addictive. Go ahead and buy the full package - you know you want to. But please fix the frequent crashes!! Way too much fun to be restarting just when you’re landing a monster brown!

Fish On!!, Nice Job.. The best form of AI fishing w/o the hassles of attaching a lure, casting the line into a Snag, swatting gnats and no-seem-ums. Competitive yet relaxing while understanding the dynamics of Fly Fishing. Hearing the words of encouragement and failure in acquiring the "Fish On" or "Not quick enough" provides a second chance in landing what's on Line.

Loved this for 3 years now!. I play this game often and I love it! The developers did great as they thought through the little nuances of the game play and the animations. I only have one complaint- I wish the pictures of each catch were updated with bigger sizes along with the small one. Some times it says I caught a big heavy fish but the picture is of a little one.

It’s a awesome game. The only down fall is the first 2 levels give you the opportunity to catch bigger finish so you can move on to the next level. But there’s like 8 or 10 different levels and only the first 2 place only let you do 2 levels on each witch is fine but they need to let everyone get 2 levels on each sight that way we can see if we like the other levels and if we do then make us pay for the rest of them and not make us pay just for altogether 4 sites it’s not really worth taking a guess and paying for it and end up not liking

Best fishing game ever. A way to fly fish during the winter. I haven’t had to spend any money on the game just be patient a catch some fish to unlock items. You get to tie your own flies.

Gives a good virtual experience of fly fishing.. The visuals remind me of being on actual trout streams. Fished all over North Georgia and almost like I’m right there again. The casting action and line dynamics in the flow are excellent. Gives a good mental image of the real experience. Fun so far.

Not sure haven't played yet. The reviews seem like it is a very fun game and is tempting me to want to play it and I hope it's realistic like everyone's been saying and I hope it's fun like everyone's been saying some of the reviews are negative and they say it's not very fun but I think it's gonna be fun

Most realistic fishing game ever. Make sure you are matching the hatch or you won't catch many. You pick everything from what fly to what weight pole and leader to strike indicator distance and amount split shot. Game gets addicting quick. You should buy the pole pack for $.99 at level 2 unless you want some really long fights.

Great simulator, but.... This is a fun and very realistic fly fishing simulator, but it takes far too long to land a fish once hooked without breaking the tippet. In real life a hooked fish tires relatively quickly, but in this game you can easily watch for a half hour while the fish just goes and goes without seemingly tiring at all. Eventually I get tired of waiting and try to bring it in, only to have it break off. It's a major flaw in the game, and because of it I will probably tire of it fairly quickly. I'm a fly fisherman and I know how long it takes to land a certain sized fish with certain tackle, and this simulator is just not realistic in that regard. Also, don't even think about playing this game unless you are willing to spend $15 to get the full lineup of flies, rods and leaders. To try and play for free will just be an exercise in futility. This simulator gives you an outstanding selection of water to fish, and the fishing experience is very realistic, but you'll quickly tire of fighting a fish for a half hour that you should be able to land in 5-10 minutes.

Nice game.. Fun little game. I didn't expect much but it's fun and a good way to kill a few minutes between meetings. I just bought the complete upgrade package $15 and it's been great. Would like better graphics of the water.

Great concept for a fishing game, but. I really enjoy the video-style graphics and relaxing nature sounds; however, how does one go about actually catching a fish? I’ve seen plenty of them under the water. My bait seems to float on top of the water. Have spent a half-hour with no success. Not wasting any more time nor will I purchase IAP’s. Please make it so we can actually catch a fish!

Realistic, Fun, Intriguing!!!. I tried several fishing games. There were few that I liked and this is certainly one of them. I like changing flies to see what works. You have to look through the pond and reflection to see fish moving around, which brings some realism to the game. It’s a fun way to pass the time. I definitely recommend this game.

Used to be better. Used to get all of the gear and some spots by earning it like you earn flies and you also used to be able to tie your own, I get they have to make money and it’s still a good game, they just made it more pay to play unfortunately.

Still fun!. I downloaded this app a few years back when I first started fly fishing. I found it to be a great way to learn about etymology, fly types and sizes, rods, leaders and tippets. It was fun then and I still enjoy it today! A great app :)

Enjoyable game to play.... Great game to play and impressed. I was skeptical of a game on an iPhone. The developer has created what I would consider one of the best fly fishing simulators I've seen...realistic casting, line travel and an ability to match a hatch etc. The creator of the game is clearly a fly fisherman who proves his love for the sport through his attention to detail to create a realistic game and photograph/video some beautiful landscapes and rivers for you to enjoy. Great game, but In App Purchases must stop!. I absolutely love this game, as I fly fisherman myself, I find it replicates the sport to its fullest potential. However, I feel that the need for IAP to unlock the whole game is excessive. I feel that the Dev should make it so you can fish for more locations, but it’s much harder to get new locations and flies without IAP. Other than that, the game is incredible, and Paul did an excellent job on it.

Awesome game(suggestions). This is a great game especially if you are looking for a game that is fast paced but still relaxing. The free items are great to get a taste for the game (It could use a couple more free locations), but if you have the $15, it is definitely worth buying. Maybe for future updates y’all can add saltwater fishing and smoother water animations. Other than that the game is perfect and I am definitely going to recommend. 10/10 🤙

Nice game. This being one of the few fly fishing simulators on the store doesn’t matter. It is fun and just the option of the fly tying is worth the download. You get to fish and the more you do, you open more sites to fish, gain better gear, and are awarded new flies. If you have an idea for a fly design you can make the fly and then use that same fly on the water. Again, great game. Keep up the good work!!

Been there and really did that. This is a fun game which includes many different fisheries in many different states. I am very familiar with some of the fisheries (the T it amps River in Colorado being one of them) and I even recognised where the places were where the the settings depict. I have been unable to fly fish for a number of years now due to the ravages of Multiple Sclerosis, but it’s nice to be able to go to those familiar waters in familiar places and drowned a few flies, even if only virtually. The graphics in the game are excellent. About the only thing that isn’t realistic is that there aren’t any mosquitos and horseflies trying to chew you up. In my opinion, that’s a good thing. One can even tie one’s own flies in the game, and I have tied many of the flies we used to tie and use on the Yampa with decent results. They patterns which we have used for four generations going back to the earliest 1900’s and which you can’t buy. They have been productive for us on the Yampa and in that entire area, and they are productive on the game world Yampa too. I enjoy playing this game and I hope you will too.

Almost Awesome.. So the game is well made, and really fun to play. It’s a little annoying how i can only get a tiny fly selection, and not many spots and very limited gear. But that isn’t the main problem. Once you hook to a trout, it is almost impossible to land it. I probably only land 1/4 trout because they break the line. I will literally leave my phone on the charger and watch TV for like 10 minutes and go back and try and land it and it is like I just hooked the fish. It gets pretty boring to go to the practice pond and catch 7 inch bluegill because whenever you hook up to a trout, you’re probably going to lose it. I really want to play this game, because it’s super realistic and very fun. But please fix this problem to make the game even better.

Expensive but worth every penny. For all the fly flickers out there this is a must have, from beginners to the pro. Can't believe i am the first person to rate this. Starts off with a free trial but for $18.99 you can unlock 160 odd flies and locations, 3 to 10 wt rods 7x to 0x tippet. I am addicted

Okay game, insane prices.. $20 in app purchases just to unlock a new level or some flies?!?! Yeah right.... This game is okay at best, but not worth the money needed to actually play it. Graphics are stuck in the 90's and the game crashes when you fight fish. Don't waste your money on this app.

Realistic. The most realistic Flyfishing game I have found. Helps me survive the cold Canadian winters... Definitely worth the $$.

Awesome but... The game is amazing. However, it would be more enjoyable if there was just a but more free content. Like 2-3 rods, a couple more sites, and some better line. So far the biggest fish I’ve been able to catch is a 14.98 inch rainbow trout on site 1 of Upper Sacramento River.

just started the HD version. i'm a longtime fan of the original but i am already really enjoying the HD version on my new iPad pro. the fly tying module is really fun! as someone who has been flyfishing for well over 20 years, i love the thought & work that went into making this game feel as realistic as it does. it's a great little stress reliever :)

Great game. Must purchase. If u love a real life fly fishing experience and not arcade style then this is great for u. I'm pretty judgmental when it comes to the realistic aspects of a fishing game and they nailed it. The fish sizes based on the fight seem right, and the casting and matching hatches and stuff are good as well. I purchased the 15$ full package and it's totally worth it. Well done. Please make updated as well.

It WAS ok. I actually loved the game and had great fun with it, super cool selection of flies but then I decided I wanted more and bought the pack with all the locations and gear, for a steep price f 15 bucks and now it keeps crashing and I can't even play it.

Good but not. All in all it’s a good game and it’s very realistic but the biggest thing I don’t like is how you have to go buying everything and you can’t play any other places if you don’t buy them I thing everyplace the first two should be free then after that you should have to pay if you want to keep playing that would be fair and you should be able to upgrade your rods as wee for free.

My Complaint!. Hi there, so im contacting you today because i liked your game Fly Fishing Simulator so much that i wanted the rest of the levels. So i just recently purchased the 16.99$ pack to unlock the rest of the levels and flies, and now i cant open the app at all. It crashes within seconds. Please help me or return my money please. This was a really good game until this just happened. Not happy!

About the bug reviews. I emailed pishtech who explained that the bug you read about in the reviews is caused by a bug in the underlying system that the game is built on. Not the game code so it is out of their control. A looping sound effect played at a low volume activates this bug which is usually the stripping of the drag when a fish pulls back. They advised to turn the volume up to reduce the crashes or to stop them and if you are trying to stay silent then to turn the volume all the way down

Best sim I know about. I have only been fly fishing once in real life and caught only 1 itty bitty fish but it was fun. This game replicates that feeling of catching a fish just as well

Very fun game. I really enjoy this game however it is very hard to play the free version and $15 is very expensive to me. I could understand $5 but $15 is way too much.

Costly. It’s fun to play, and I wouldn’t mind spending a dollar or two to unlock the whole game, but it’s like 15 dollars to get more than a couple flies and the rest of the ponds. I wouldn’t spend that much on some actual leader or fly line.

Really interesting. I haven’t fly fished much, but I finished ultra ultra light tackle for many years. I have found this app quite interestingcall with fishing 1 to 2 pound test 95% of the time, I can tell you that large fish on light line due to go while to land. Would I find that fault here is when you get to the larger fish mostly salmon and Steelhead. While it’s interesting to try to land a large fish with a ten weight rod, it’s not an easy task to perform when hooked up to a very large fish. For me having a heavier rod and a heavier Tippit for these occasions would help. Although I have spent over an hour on many occasions landing a large fish with light line, here we are running on battery power, and just don’t have the time to accomplish that. All in all this is a great experience, and if you’re out and about and cannot be charging while you fish, you can always fish for the smaller species of trout or just use have your line well fishing for trout and bass, and have a great time. So in my opinion I say go for it, for me it was worth paying the extra money for all the streams and rivers as it gives you a large selection to choose from, with so many different selections of fish that will challenge your ability, and perfect your skills as a fisherman, and you don’t get thrashing the same water. With being able to do this on a cell phone the graphics are amazing, with some of the destinations having really Clearwater where you can actually see the fish and watch them take your fly, or nymph. Love this game!. Everything about this game is awesome, except for one thing...a bit too pricy. I understand it cost time and money to create these apps but it's still just a bit too much.

Not very impressed. It’s alright but there isn’t many options for gear and locations without paying money and the tipit always breaks which is annoying

Fun. This game is awesome. You have to spend 14$ to get the full package but it is most definitely worth it.

Great game. This is by far one of the best fishing games ever it is so realistic and fun to play and easy to learn I would recommend to anyone of any age

Enjoyed it a lot. It was difficult for me to figure out the fish fighting mechanics at first, but once I did I started really enjoying the game.

Jim Peet. Lots of fun but I have a suggestion that would at least double the fun. There should be some type of vibration in the phone to stimulate the feeling in the rod when the fish bite.

Good game. Good game experience, fun, little learning curve, tutorial was awkward. Fishing experience with real scenery was cool. I have fished a couple of the location and the game matched location, very cool

Fish fight time. It’s fun but the fish fight tine is unrealistic a 16 inch trout in real life is no challenge on cheap 4 pound test mono, but in this game a 10 inch trout broke me off with 5 pound either make the line stronger of the fish the strength they are in real life. All in all it’s fun but please for the love of god fix this and it will be 5 stars

Fun. It’s way more fun than I thought it would be. You won’t be sorry if you lie to fly fish but don’t find the time.

Doesn’t work!. Should be a lot of fun, but it isn’t. It takes for longer to land a fish once you get it on then happens in real life even with big fish. It’s clunky to work, and just isn’t a lot of fun. I tried for about a half an hour and then just deleted it. Needs better tutorial if they ever hope it to be a success. A real disappointment.

Wonderfully Realistic. This has been my favorite fishing game since it was only available for computer. If you love fly fishing, you will love this app.

Awesome but.... I really enjoy the game for when it's cold and I can't fish or when I'm bored. But I just don't have a card to pay for the rest of it all. Besides that it be awesome! I highly recommend it!
