Great little reader!. I am very pleased with total reader. Tried other ones, this is the best by far for what I need

Good for unusual format. I been using this for reading .djvu format n simple and a must for ebook reader. Not a stand alone but along with 2 other apps my reading experience can be said complete on iPad.

Works well. I needed a hassle free, simple epub reader. I found this in the App Store which is what I usually do, however I may have to download several apps before I find one I like, and can use effortlessly. That is what I found with Total Reader. I like the app. I am not blown away by it. But it is, simple, easy to use, and hassle free. I'd recommend this app to anyone looking for a free epub reader.

Good reader; forced rating. After trying out a few other readers for comic book CBR files, this was the first one that let me rotate to landscape to see two pages at a time – nice for certain two page spreads. Have been happily using it ever since. My only gripe is that after using it for a while it forced me to come to this rating page. All right then, 4 stars it is.

App crashes on iOS 14.2. Used this app for a couple months with few complaints, but now it won’t open at all since iOS update. Given Totalreader hasn’t been updated in 3 years, I’m not holding my breath for a fix.

Horrible. I bought the 6.99 pro version so I could edit and organize the files... it won’t even let me rename them which I paid for.... it doesn’t even allow me the option. I would rate 0 stars if I could

Way too many ads. I understand that this is a free app, however the amount of ads is ridiculous. I can't get through 2 pages of a book without seeing at least 3-4 ads. Also many times the x button to close the ads doesn't work, so I'm forced to restart the app to continue reading. Totally useless.

Good reader, but ads are annoying. Extremely good app for reading documents in different formats. Unfortunately ads are extremely annoying in basic version.

Buggy, seems abandoned. I’ve found so many bugs. Most of the libraries fail for various reasons. OneDrive says it links but then won’t open — no longer supported? Even the menu option to list other apps for the developer fails. Last update 3 years ago. PocketBook seems nice, no fails so far, doesn’t have the unnecessary features.

Useful, works well, ads are intrusive. I only use this app for basic reading functions, but it handles enormous files with no problems and I haven’t encountered any bugs so far. Ads in the free version are annoying and come up almost every time you bring up the reading menu, but that’s the price of free stuff. Most of them are easy to close after a few seconds.

Works well!. No complaints here — does exactly what it says it’ll do, and free, for reading at least.

Simple, effective and brilliant!. This is certainly a great choice. I'm using the free version and have certainly enjoyed the eek experience so far. Very limited ads and little to no clutter on screen enables a smooth user experience.

TotalReader. Text books available for download how are often in formats that standard programs will not open. TotalReader does the job when other programs cannot.

Excellent. This is an excellent reader and I would highly recommend it. I’ve tried various file formats and this reader processes like a champ.

Hard to use, clunky. I really only use this app to read one rare book type, azw3. I don’t mind the interface within books but I’ve not been able to add any books to the library. I have about 4 of these tests, the only way I’ve found to open them is to start in the file manager on my IPad and navigate to the book I want, then “share” that file using this app. Books you don’t download, cannot be added to an internal library. It works fine if you are downloading books within the app but that comes with its own challenges. Many of the menu items are just broke. I synced my OneDrive with the app, doesn’t work. Try to navigate to the Internet Archive, you know, the largest file depository on the internet, “HTTP error”; Gutenberg Project “Http Error”… etc. a lot of functions in the menu end that way, just broke.

Awesome. Works great use it for the voice to text stuff.

Great. I don’t usually give reviews but this app is pretty good so I thought “ hey, might as well.” Anyway I like how there is a dark mode so I can read at night without being blinded. There are some ads here and there looking at the big picture though, it’s pretty good

No Longer Supporting ONE DRIVE. I loved Themis app and it was for me a high 4 stars until two months ago it stop accessing ONE DRIVE files (the only I have). I even purchased the Pro-Version. It now started reading “This API is no longer supported”. For me it’s useless now. Unless a tech from this App fixes this glitch it’ll be a zero stars for me.

Not capable to keep a file open. App is very fragile. Every time I open a djvu file it works for 10-15 minutes until the first ad shows up. After that any new page of the file is not displayed. Not clear if this is a limitation of the free version of just a defect.

cannot open some mobi books. easily crash and cannot open some mobi books. I can open these books via kindle app or other similar apps.

It's alright. I use it to read my MOBI files and it does work fine

Supports many formats. Works pretty well to read many different formats. The “dark mode” makes some text unreadable though. :(

Works well. I like to read when I have short break and while I do read some books on iPhone I also have kindle books that I can now also read on my phone (I used to love a Samsung phone but now using an iPhone). No trouble with pdf or Mobi format. Minor annoyance with pop up ad on every few closure of title, but still quite a good reader that I can recommend if you want to read other than ePub on an iPhone or iPad.

Obtrusive Ads. I understand with a free version of an app there are going to be ads, but to have them pop up when you’re trying to turn the page is a step too far.

Nice. Two objections - no spaces after paragraphs and you can’t highlight for going back to your space.

Frustrating. Works for 5-10 mins and then the document just stops loading. Even the pages that have already been read crash.

Right double quotation mark. I love it except when reading books it always tells me “right double quotation. Mark” when there is one in the text. That would be a good update.

Ads are pretty intrusive, otherwise great.. Fantastic, really easy to use. Can adjust text size, spacing, alignment, margins, etc. on a very large number of formats. I don’t think you can zoom, though, so reading graphic novels can be a challenge. It’s quite a good reader overall, easier to use than iBooks or Kindle. If you’re willing to pay $7, just buy the premium version. The ads will appear every other time you try to access the reading menu.

Great app, I hope you make money from it. The fact that it’s free, makes it deserve all the stars

Reads everything. Reads all major book formats. Not quite as fluid as iBooks, Adobe, and such. Doesn’t cost as much and works on multiple platforms. It allows me to keep a subject library composed of works in different formats in one place. Cool!

Wonderful reader. This is the only reader I have found which is able to read ePub, PDF, and CBZ/R files which scales images appropriately in PDFs. I would like some refinements to the visuals of the file manager, and perhaps the ability to edit metadata such as title, tags, and authors of files, but am very pleased with the app, overall. It allows for bulk import from my network drives, which is something that no other ePub and PDF reader allows, and only one or two comic readers allow for.

Garbage. I downloaded app to read an epub book and it did not render well at all. Worst of all, there were annoying adds constantly appearing and distracting. At times the add would take over with a message indicating that I had the trial version. I will uninstall immediately. Zero stars would be appropriate.

Great app. App work with the wide set of book formats. But adding zipped books is not clear and periodically extracted books located in unsuitable place. I would like to add additional cloud storage into app

So far so good.. Paid for premium because the ads were super annoying but I love the interface and the general feel of reading with this app. It’s very close to the native Kindle Fire book reader app, which I was previously used to. The native iOS app is horrid. But TotalReader made my iPad become a library once again.

Very useful. I'm really happy that I can open several document formats with this app. It's definitely worth it, the only 2 things that I can complain about are, 1) documents a bit hard to organize in folders and 2) can't ignore document copies, if I open the exact same document twice from a browser in the app, I'll end up with 2 copies of the same document using space in my device.

Impressed by the features. Works as it should. Includes several useful settings and is easy to use. I love the text-to-speech tool and I'm glad the voice's speed is adjustable, which is incredibly nice. And, pro tip: Put phone in airplane mode to avoid ads.

Bugs!. Purchased Pro version and will not share with my other iPad. Can not open Google Drive, which as main reason I purchased. Tried twice in multiple ways (iPad, internet, calling) to contact and was ignored. Do these people even exist? Waste of money!

Absolutely loving it. Got addicted to DjVu files and the app provides perfect support for reading such files on iPad. Nothing to complain so far. I am not sure about how often I can use the WiFi transfer, but I won't mind paying once to get that right forever.

Mostly very good. It's very handy to have an app that can read so many different file formats, but the navigation and bookmarking system are still quite clunky and inflexible compared to iBooks and Kindle apps, so I usually only resort to Total Reader if there's no version of a book available for one of the free mainstream apps. If the user interface were more flexible, I'd use it most of the time.

Best free reader. I've tried other readers and this one is by far the best. Transfers any documents without error to my iPad mini perfectly. Only issue is with chm files in vietnamese (maybe also other non-English language) which is missing some characters.

Drive. Good

Used to be my favourite reader. No longer connects to Dropbox. Needs the integration updated since Dropbox phased out v1. Good reader with lots of functionality it was my favourite app for ages and used to be worth the paid version. Please update asap because now I have to find an app that supports Dropbox storage.

Love it. Love this. It's not just a reader.Its also a book scout, a library storage app oand TTS reader. Has multiple features that other developers didn't think of, like: (most important to me)---storage . Folders in folders. Can organise a library. Other apps use tags, to put through a filter. That doesn't work for me, I much prefer a folder tree. Has search for books function.... that is actually pretty good + a TTS reader. + will read both mobi and ePub. This is the only genuine viable library storage, book scout and reader app available. ------------ To be the first to make the ultimate reader- My suggestions would be add : 1) convert function (upload to server and download result) 2)a text search function that can trawl through more than one book 3) a TTS reader that can accept headphone button presses as commands ... ie pause, forwards 15sec , backwards etc.

Best Reader I've found. Apple changed ITunes and removed the IBooks functionality, this prevented me looking at practically all of my books. Fortunately a quick look though the ap store found the Total Reader ap. all the functionality I need, able to read any format I have and connects simply and wirelessly to my PC so I can transfer and book I like in moments. Best formatting of any ebook reader ever!. I love this reader. Makes files that become gibberish on other so called readers easy to read and navigate. It's a one stop shop for me!

Feature Packed. Works As a file reader for several file types and good display, search and bookmarks. Integrates with cloud services. The ads in the 'free' version suck - but not too hard to ignore. There's no pinch zoom which makes maps useless. I'm not able to determine if the paid version has this (or other) features. Developers don't respond to email so don't expect much support...

It works. I can connect to my ebooks in google drive. My whole library in my hand. Awesome. Worth paying for.

Mr. Allows you to view your document for 5 minutes before you have to buy the full app. I would not have touched it if this had been clear before I downloaded it.

can’t access OneDrive. App hasn’t been updated for quite a while and can no longer access OneDrive as the API it uses is no longer supported by Microsoft.

It doesn’t work!. Is this a scam? I can’t access any of my mobi files in my phone. There’s simply no way to do that from within the app.

Best reader I've used so far. I have tried a fair few readers but this is the only one that let me dump my whole folder of epubs and comics and then browse through the folders i had made. It's the only reader i need.

Sneaky. The app looks great and I was seriously considering paying for the full version until I synched it with my dropbox and took all of my books from it instead of just copying it! And there is no way of moving them back to my dropbox unless it’s one by one or buying the app. This seems to be a sneaky tactic to make me buy the app and I don’t appreciate it. I will get my books back even if it’s one by one and through all those ads, and then I am deleting this app.

Useless. Why have a free app if all content is "premium" and you then have to pay. Don't bother downloading.

Avoid. Constant prompts to review. Annoying full screen ads you can't close. Can't read a whole novel size page without interruption. Was good but it's garbage now. Not worth paying to support the developer if this is how they act

The excellent reader.. The application works as designed. It reads the files in the pdf and djvu formats. It also provides the decent file management. There might be some “wrinkles” but they don’t cause significant inconveniences or misbehavior. It is a free decent application.

Ads are far too intrusive. It is reasonable that they would use ads to support a free app, but the ads in this reader are wretched! OK--when it starts it pops up an ad--frequently one with sound that requires you to watch and listen to the whole ad. This is frustrating, but somewhat acceptable. What is not acceptable, is that while you are reading it interrupts your reading experience with a full page ad; completely spoiling the atmosphere that the author has carefully crafted into their novel. I spent my life in sales/marketing--and learned that people are more likely to buy in a pleasant environment; certainly not because they are annoyed! Indeed the only "sales people" I know that use the annoying. in-your-face sales techniques are Mexican street vendors.

Cannot use it for unknown cost. 1st time use on .mobi and was ask to buy that format. Do not know how many other formats need to be bough. They should ask for the money up front before the app is download. I deleted it right the way.

Good enough. Paragraphs are not displayed but you soon get used to that. Some words misspelled. It is generally easy to read. Opens at the same page where I left off.

The best e-reader for iPhone. I don't know what I would do without this app. It reads every single ebook format and it helps me immensely in my life.

Polluted with video ads!. Garbage. Settings impossible to customize for many documents. Too many video ads - less than 5 min apart. App opens at file manager, not last book.

A very fine reader. Does everything I want, including giving me access to my own ‘non-reader’ files.

Greedy, greedy. Beware, this app is NOT free: just to remove the adds is $1.99, after that they will charge you separately for every little feature. As far as functionality goes it is OK, but way too expensive for what it does - there are cheaper apps out there that do the same.

Just what i was looking for. Pros: clean interface; lots of supported formats; view customization; fast rendering; folder support. Cons: no icloud support; scrolling isnt smooth with a hundred books. Perhaps, there should be a text-only display option in the file manager. Overall, this app is better than anything else for books.

OneDrive, Google not accessible. When I tried to access Google drive, Google gives an error “app not verified”; When I tried to access OneDrive, MS gives an error “obsolete API”.

Clean and simple - works. Let's me access epubs and PDFs that are in my Dropbox from anywhere. Perfect for book bloggers who get a lot of eAdvanced Reading Copies.

Too Expensive!. This is a great reading App and if it wasn't so expensive I would upgrade. Unfortunately using the App without upgrading is impossible for anyone with elevated blood pressure so I am giving up. Price it more reasonably and I'll buy it because otherwise it's a great App. Too bad

No Family Sharing. Family sharing is supposed to be allowed for this app. It is not. You are expected to pay $9.99 for each and every device you want to use it on. Terrible.

Excellent reader!. Overall, this is a fantastic e-reader. I can upload epub books from my googledrive.... which is awesome! Sadly, the reader frequently displays blank pages upon scrolling to the next page. Scrolling backward or forward doesn't resolve this issue. The only way I discovered to view the "blank" pages, is to switch between daytime and night mode. This becomes extremely tiresome, as it happens every few pages. Fix this, and we have a winner!

Good but, last update was 2yr ago, and it shows. Development seems to have ceased. I still use the app because I don’t need to change it up. But I probably wouldn’t purchase if I was a new buyer. Doesn’t have support for new iPhone screen sizes X and more recent. It works on my iPhone X but the display is not optimized for the screen size. I’m sure on if these days, due to an incompatibility with new iPhones, I’ll be forced to find a replacement, but for now works.

Great app!. Very good reader app.

Good start, but needs work. This reader is pretty good in that, with the upgrade (which I received for free), you can read PDF and DJVU documents with a pretty decent UI. However it has some serious issues before it can be great. - No text selection. Search works fine and highlights search terms, but there is no way to actually select text on a page, say if you wanted to copy it to search or something. - Non-collapsible bookmarks/outline. Your document has hundreds of nested bookmarks? They are all listed in a straight list with no way to collapse/expand nested sets. Very annoying for trying to work with textbooks. - Annoying file manager. Local documents should be the focus of the interface, not just another UI element like every other possibility. Please refer to GoodReader for sane UI design. - Slow animations. Please remove them or speed them up. Opening the sidebar should not be an entertainment experience. - For the love of God, stop making 5 different versions of the same apps. You are confusing your customers and making it impossible to find the right one, not to mention splitting reviews and ratings up across different apps when they should all apply to the same app. Please stop doing this.

TotalReader. Great app. Found many books I didn't think I would. I'd like the search function to be a little bigger, though. Every time I searched for a book without knowing the full title or author's name (the search bar at the very beginning of the folders) it would return nothing. It won't even search unless you're in the folders. Other than that and the fact that it kept prompting me to upgrade to the paid version when I already had, it is a great app and I really enjoy it.

I hate paid reviews but I do love this app.... Maybe I should be getting paid :0 !!! It's easy to use, while reading you can switch from daytime to night. Very easy to navigate, you can also disable sleep so the screen doesn't turn off while you're trying to read. I love how easy it is to access google drive, one drive and drop box. Then you can choose as many books as you like and copy them to TotalReader or if you don't need doubles, you can just move said book to said app. Lol yes I know that's not proper but it's fun...

Noisy ads. it's simply rude to have noise at all ever in a book app.
