Give me a chance!. I just downloaded this app. I have been playing around with it for less than four minutes and I would guess I've gotten at least six pop-up prompts asking me to write a review. Honestly, you need to give a person a chance to decide if they like the app before you start bugging them. I'm posting this review much earlier than I normally would just so I can try the app without being interrupted. And the fact that I'm getting interrupted is affecting my review.

Great little app. If you want to add mood or other filters that you don’t see a lot elsewhere, this is the app for you!

Perfect for dark venues. Confession--at first, I wasn't impressed. I thought that it was gimmicky and silly, so I deleted it. Six months later, and I've taken about 200 shots is a doom metal band in one of the darkest venues I've ever seen. I never use flash--too noisy, harsh, ruins shadows and colors--but the band itself was practically indistinguishable; just faded into the darkness. After trying about a dozen other of my 100+ apps, I decided to reinstall Gloomlogue and the results were amazing--that small amount of gleam brought out the band without compromising the moodiness of their surroundings. But I don't just use it for darker venues. The trick is that a little bit goes a long way; except for truly dark situations, I dial back the amount of gloom to about 20%. This is a very versatile app, so it takes a little practice, but I highly recommend this app!!

OUTSTANDING!!. I stumbled onto this app by accident & I am thrilled with it. The ability to easily transform pictures into works of art is incredible. It is super easy to use. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to fine tune the look of their photos.

REALLY!. I just open this app for the first time three minutes ago and have already had 3 requests by the developer for a review. One of the interruptions/requests even stated - College student made this App...PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE rate App now... is the begging request of the developer! So you want the Review ASAP. Need a Review ASAP. Well you got it, here you go.!.!.! - if I could give less than 1 star I would. - focus is on how many installations app receives, not user experience. - seems to only have 3 filters. Maybe there are more features in app but it won't allow me to use them because I have to respond to review and comment requests every 30 seconds. ** If your that desperate for positive feedback then maybe you should give users a chance to use the app first. I WOULD NOT recommend to anyone unless they like photo editing APPS that interrupt your creative flow. Hopefully I will be able to get several hundred people to download this app and promptly give a 1 star rating ASAP so you all can meet your goals

Gloom Makes me smile. Yes gloom can be used to make your pictures dark and mysterious. But it can also be used to enrich the colors or just alter it a little. And the framing is very nice also and you can add in some special effects that are very nice. I’m going to start using this a lot more.

I like this app!. I have a lot of photo apps. But just a few minutes after getting this app I've done some great things with photos. Sliding through the effects/finishes I have some great finishes for my photos. So often it takes a long time to get something I really like.. this app makes it much easier!

What else could you want?. I've just started using this photo app, but so far it's pretty all-encompassing with A LOT of effects, frames, borders, filters, etc... I'm sort of an app junkie, esp photo apps, & this is def one of the best I've used to date! The filters are stunning, *and* their effects are adjustable on a scale with the photos changing in realtime as you slide up & down the scale. I've probably got about 30 photo editing apps on my phone right now but have tried over 100. This one is simple enough for a beginner- looking much more complex than it is- & has enough options for an experienced user to still produce exquisitely edited photos.

Reviews and stars. I submitted a five star review yesterday. At least I think I did. Since then I've been asked numerous times to rate and/or review the app. Even though I already did, I try clicking on Now, and it does nothing. A couple minutes later I get the same request.

This app is fantastic for painting-like photo effects. I’ve been using this app for some time and enjoy it so much. It’s so easy to take a photo and create a vintage or painting like affect. There’s so many different choices and it couldn’t be easier to use. A lot of thought and effort went into making this app one of my favorite photo edits.

Very nice app. This app adds really nice gloomy effects to photos that I haven't seen in other photo manipulation apps. It's very easy to use and has many different effects.

Very Nicely Done App!!. I’m a photographer who uses a host of apps to accomplish my artistic vision and this one is among my “must have” iPhone apps. I’m impressed with the robustness and flexibility to edit images in a variety of ways that are usually only found in far more expensive editing programs. I compare it Snapseed, as that’s also one of my top apps, but the user interface is easier on Gloomalogue. It’s just a really nice app to have in any serious photo enthusiast’s bag for creative control at your fingertips without having to pay through the nose and take a multitude of classes to learn how to use it. As with most apps, it has its limitations so don’t expect Adobe Lightroom catalogue capabilities. There is a lot of bang for the buck here, though, so use it wisely and you’ll be very happy with the results!!

Ol guys can be creative. I love photography but not so much the complexion of editing. This app package makes me open my mind to looking at my photos in ways I never expected. Love it!!!

Special photo app. I really enjoy playing with pg Hoots, but most of them don't do any of my favorite pictures of friends and family any favors...this one is great--love all of the different ways of making an ordinary snap stand out. It is also fun for playing with other "arty" snaps that need some work to become special.

Digging it. I've tried many of the apps with preset filters. This one has some solid fx, and couples well with the 6s' camera. Good stuff

My favorite photo editing app. Extremely easy to use. Has many options to choose from and allows you to adjust every possible setting, but most times I'm ready to save the edit that is the first choice. Love everything about this app!

My Favorite. I've used this app for quite a long time, and I love it! It's intuitive and beautiful. I wish all things were.

I’ve been using this *every* day lately. I’ve had Gloomlogue forever- even before they changed the icon and the hue and cry brought it back. I use it in fits and starts, often in very different ways each time. Fairly recently I was creating mandalas and altering them with combinations of the torus lens, adding a vortex or whirl, sometimes both. Occasionally I’ve used the bump and often used the various kaleidoscope manipulations. I believe the kaleidoscope doesn’t always save the same image I thought I’d saved. I’d make some changes, if it were up to me but they’re mainly to keep it fresh and make it a little more versatile. The textures like bokeh are static and I *really* wish I could rotate and resize them because they’re often not quite where they should be. It’s hard to stay interested in them if they’re always the same. I used the borders a lot when I’d just gotten it but lately they’ve seemed too stiff. I love the faded light, somewhat smudged borders I get with some of the initial filters like “detailed” and “illustrate” and sometimes wish I could get that look on it’s own without modifying the entire image. I know I reviewed Gloomlogue prior to this but Apple used to wipe out reviews when an app was updated to an entirely new version. I review most of my apps, mostly for my own benefit since I can’t possibly remember all of them.

WOW !. I have had this on my iPad....And, just now, explored it... It has many possibilities for my images... Nice large view of my work for better editing... Thumbs up for my first view of this !

Bad lighting? No problem!. Every once in a while, no matter how good your camera is, lighting conditions aren’t ideal. You walk around in circles trying to get it right. Well, get the best you can then use this app to enhance the low light and your subject!

Impressive!. This app can do much more than its name implies with a sizable file export: mirrors, numerous distortion possibilities, curves, color adjustments, crop, text, and draw. There is no option for layers but there is plenty here! Well worth the few dollars, and no crazy in-app purchases.

Very Nice App.. I found this app on "app advice" formerly "apps gone free". I am thoroughly enjoying this particular app. This app is easy, smart and a lot of fun to play around with. I am using this app to do a photo transfer from ink jet to wood using a transfer medium. I am transferring a photo of our very auburn Golden Retriever to a slab of Hickory wood. This app allow me to get a very close idea of the end result. With this app I am able to add more grain, pigment, contrast, change the photo to black and white, with a Myriad of tones in between, as well as adjusting in full color if I choose to, using the included color wheel. Great app keep up the great work.

Not very useful. 8 July 2019 I did not find this photo editor very useful. Having to select filters before doing anything else in a photo is not convenient and just did not click with a normal workflow. The filters tend to degrade the photo too much and there tends to be a lot of unwanted artifacts when applying a filter. This issue is exacerbated by further post-filter application especially when trying to sharpen an image. There are much better photo editor apps availavle and I would personally recommend looking at those before possibly settling on this one.

First time using this app.. I use a lot of this type of app. This one stands out. I would highly recommend it to any of my friends.

WOW! Can't even use this without a review!. Ok I get the app creator is a college student, but let me give some advice as a photographer and someone who GREATLY VALUES OTHERS REVIEWS. PLEASE LET OTHERS ACTUALLY USE YOUR APP IF YOU WANT AN HONEST REVIEW! I will not NOT GIVE YOU an honest review if I can't use your app, and I don't appreciate trying to edit my pictures and every 10-30 seconds a message pops up telling me a college student is a creator and to please rate the if I like it. Yes I would be happy to, WHEN I USE IT! But not when I haven't even used it! This makes me want to delete it! This angers me more than anything when app creators constantly pester people before they even use an app. Apple needs to crack down on this. It's getting out of control! Also your app would be more "user friendly" if you could use it in landscape mode. This is enough to make me want to delete it. But because I like the features I thought I might overlook that. But now, I'm thinking twice since I can't seem to DO ANYTHING WITHOUT BEING PESTERED FOR A REVIEW. IF I get asked for an update before I find out how I like this app, it will be deleted. Please be aware everyone, you will be constantly bugged until you give a review!

Thank you for bringing back the tree app icon!. The updates might be fine, but why did you change the app icon/logo? The old one (with the tree) was so unique and pretty! This new black and red one is hard to see on the screen, doesn't stand out on the page, and is frankly "ugly". It has NO style...sorry but true! I appreciate the updates, however I would hope you might consider going back to the old app icon! Please please please change the app icon to something attractive...I can't stand the black square with the red dots!!! Thank you for listening to the users regarding the tree app icon-it's back and so much prettier!

Great app, has potential to be better.... One of the ways you could make this app better is if you made it for iPad as well, like compatible on both devices as some people like love editing pics on the iPad since it's bigger. I'd also like to request fine-tuning since that scroll bar for amplifying effects is not accurate enough, also a reset button for the effects would be great, instead of having to hit cancel and start all over again. But for being developed by a college student, quite impressive.

Too good!. Simple to use. Easy as interface with a heap of tools to transform any image from ordinary to way cool. My only beef with editors is an over abundance of filters which I'd never use but each to their own. Well done on this creation and best of luck with future developments!

Very promising. I love the "light", "glow", "color-fix" n "auto-fix", the flip function is supa useful as well! The contrast n brightness changes a bit too much for each level, sometimes even level 1 is way too much effect if u know wht I mean…also, if I can choose my photo's shape instead of square only, it would be great! Nice App!!!

Resolution. I am disappointed that Gloomlogue , like many other photo editing apps, interferes with the original resolution of the photo, to the point the photo can not be printed.

Fine! Here's a review!. Ok good for you, you're a college student and want a review. You loose a star for asking for a review too many times! Your app is pretty good but the sliders I have found to be very touchy and hard to get right...but overall a good editing app.

Filters that you can control how far you alter them, a full range of the common options to develop you photo and a range of different and fun ways to create unique images in depth. Great app. This is a fun and interesting app for photo editing, my only complaint (which seems a semi-recurring one) is the auto crop at the beginning that allows me minimal adjustment - if I could get the cropping I want this app would get 5 stars from me.

An app that has it all. This is one very functional app. Well laid out, excellent editing options and brilliant filters. Adobe could learn a thing or two from this app.

Deleted due to security concern. Downloaded this app this morning to try it out. Had to give it access to my photos to experiment. The filters looked okay, set it aside to test more later. I have just noticed that photos from my "protected" folder have been accessed, and my camera has been taking photos (which are blank) while the phone was locked. This is the only new app I have, and I am sure that it is responsible. Deleted.

Handy app. I'm not a photo type person but when I do take a photo of my kids I like it to be a good one. Rarely is that the case however with this app I am able to change that.

Love it!. My 8 year old loves this app as much as I do! Wonderful filters to play around with. I've downloaded a few similar apps to this, but this is definitely one of my favourites!

Could be greater?. It is a great app and can be really cool to add effect to pictures. However, I am finding that most of pictures that I edit on gloomologue look the same even though they are pictures of completely different things. But, I found that it works really well with people photos. Especially when using large groups in the pics. Good job. Enjoyable. cay1ie

Brilliant Features. Wonderful app with numerous and constantly updated filters, shaders and sliders. Amazing effects that can't be captured whilst editing in other apps.

Constructive Criticism. Haven't had a chance to use the app much but I love the potential. Is it just me (user error entirely possible) or is the app missing some basic edit functions - can a picture be cropped? Also - I'd love a warning when you hit the back button. 'You are about to lose all your changes. Do you want to save?' My pic was almost complete - lost all the changes when going back to alter the gloom level :( Otherwise, I'm looking forward to getting to know the app better. Has some great functions :)

Fantastic. Purely amazing, the selection of effects and features such as the pinch, hole, vortex effect really set it apart from other leading photo editors (a major one being PicLab). Great job!

And still: If you're a college student you're not exactly a naive newbie first-timer freshman dev, are you? You seem to have a bucketload of apps on the store -- including one that afaics sole fx is to flip a virtual coin? Another with an impressively complex looking equation - above a diagram with a problem that resolves to (x=1, y=1)🤪. Another for solving the area under the normal curve tail 'in case you don't have a normal curve table handy' 😶. . . You seem to have the pitch all worked out: in fact I'll prob put a 'watch' on your apps just to keep up with what you put out. Re Gloomlogue: I reckon it's a nice filter app. A little bit same-ish -- but it does what it says it does, and it does it well. I mainly use Stackables Brushstroke iColorama Mextures then Distressed and occ Gloomlogue and similar. It's no reflection on smaller, single function editing apps that many artist/iPhoneographers are deleting these 'smaller' apps because ‘bigger’ apps like Stackables etc cover so much more ground these days. Bit like the corner grocery stores going out of business under Coles & Woolworths.

I LOVE YA DUDE. IT'S MY FAV APP!. I haven't found any app like this before. There's a great selection of unique effects, filters and tools which makes your pictures stand out from the crowd. I love that I can stay on the app and explore the features as if they were new. You get to be creative and try out different styles every time. Thank you a million times for creating this gem!

Brilliant!!!!. You have a very powerful and well executed app here, better than any other photo editor, change the name, it does not describe the app, the app is so much more than its name (just a suggestion). Every iPhone photographer should should default this as their photo editor

What a surprise. OK Thomas you have hassled me for a review enough times so here I am. Lost 1 star for that. This app has a huge set of controls, effects,filters and even a few layer options. Really smooth controls. It would be nice to have a way to increment values in single digits as the sliders are super-sensitive. Oh and some way to have bigger than 2048^2 pixels.

Masking. This will be a top-notch app when masking is an option. For now, the effects are all or nothing. Some of the "gloom" would be outstanding if selectively applied to the photo via masking.
